🦴 -> The only thing that consciously inspires is music. Individual songs, full albums, artists; it all depends, but I find that music as a medium has always inspired me.

10. Do they share any hobbies or interests? How do these things bring them together?

I dunno if this really counts as an interest or hobby but they train together! They both want to get stronger, and can go a little nuts (provided they're not using haki) because their Devil Fruits just happen to make it so neither of them can really hurt the other. They also love being out in nature together; Yara so she can collect her plants and Ace because he's a feral jungle boy who needs to be set loose in his natural habitat sometimes lol (he tries to impress her with his hunting skills like he'll just haul over some massive boar he managed to take down like "Yaraaaa!! Look what I brought!! 😁" And she'll pat him on the head like "That's nice, Ace. Thank you. 😌")

23. What are the defining characteristics of their relationship?

Loyalty and intense, dedicated, passionate love. They are so ride or die for each other. Probably the most fated lovers I've ever written tbh

24. How do their personalities affect their relationship? Do their characteristics compliment each other, or clash often?

They are somehow simultaneously very similar while being very opposites attract. A lot of their trauma comes from the same place of desperately wanting to be loved and trying to find a place to belong in the world, so even though they appear very different on the outside (Ace with his sunshine golden retriever personality and Yara with her disgruntled black cat personality), they understand each other on a fundamental level. Their personalities complement each other nicely in their day-to-day lives-- Ace gives love where Yara craves it, Yara gives affirmation where Ace needs it-- and the only time where things really clash is when Yara wants her alone/quiet time and Ace gets all 🥺 about it, lol

Inspiration wise, I was listening to two FNAF songs: Join Us For A Bite and Below the Surface (hence the title). I also read @/Pseudo_Fics' Lackadaisy murder mystery oneshot on AO3, so THAT tied into inspiration.

Anything relating to music, fashion, or fanfiction was a huge inspiration to me. Also, with people leaving comments on my fic, THAT give me the motivation to keep writing, hence why I cranked out 10 chapters in seven days. THAT was an accomplishment.

I was also heavily inspired by the Lacrimosa poem Tracy Butler made for Lackadaisy: that's why I made Lacrimosa Ambrose: to allude to the angst! Though I made her into a villain ;)

all of nara's relationships started out as secrets. she's never been with someone she could declare her love for publicly right off the bat (or ever) or vice versa, and that's a lot to grapple with for a hopeless romantic. obviously, she and estinien become public knowledge eventually, but it's a rough road getting there, and he's never going to be the pda guy, so it gets to her. some days are worse than others, but one of her love languages is physical affection and she becomes touch-starved very easily, so she is prone to bouts of melancholy over it every now and then.

i feel like this is one of the most boring options i could have had a preference towards but sue me for living vicariously through my sims.. its the writing career ive def had more sims play through that then any other. i think second would be business but mostly because of the morrow legacy ToT both bellona and saige were in that career track for a while

i think probably laundry day cos it filled a pretty sizeable gap of realism that we'd been lacking? i will say tho i find the clean/dirty clothes function really fucking annoying esp in big households, when its a story household- ill make smth that looks like a laundry room but it just wont be functional

coolest concept for a horror film you've seen?

oh this is such a fun question but sooo tough actually considering ive seen 562 horror films but hm.... in recent years i think nope was a very very cool concept that i highly appreciated and fell in love with! same with malignant (which many might disagree with. i think its super cool) but overall another one would be lake mungo... really love that one a whole lot. so fucked up.. ive always loved the concept of the phantom of the opera too the 1925 horror movie is so great... a tale of two sisters is another very very "cool" concept while being fucked up too.. cronenberg has some of my favorites like videodrome, existenz and dead ringers. also a few more would be raw and titane!!! hatching 2022!! the thing.. there are just far too many cool concepts i love to pick one in my opinion but those are just a few :)

jace can see ghosts!! in "his" annotations in the shadowhunters codex he mentions it, I'm not sure if it's mentioned in any other books though??? also this reminds me that my sibling read the codex but ONLY the codex which is literally the most unhinged approach to reading tsc ever

I've read the codex but I do not remember that! and yeah I don't think it ever comes up in the books but it's kinda on brand for Jace to simply never mention it 😭

Perhaps his thinking has changed over the years... no, he knows for a fact that it has. ok so i will disqualify samatoki and ichiro otherwise these answers won't be very interesting at all lol (ofc they are the eternal faves)

with them disqualified, hmm it becomes an almost-tie between mimakura (mima and hayate from cool doji danshi) and stokesraider (brian and zeno from the marginal service)

the marginal service was... ridiculous and its characters were just as ridiculous, so they were very fun to write! but mimakura are so, so, so soothing and just comfortable to spend time with

i think i'll have to give it to hayate from cool doji danshi, he's just such a comforting character (which funnily enough is exactly how mima canonically feels about him lol) and i really enjoyed having him run around in circles in my head

yes, thank you! blanket apology that i've been so slow with you are strange, but it's coming along!!

superchan: the funny thing about this file is that it's split into two sections: jeongchan's story and felix's story, neither are fully formed at the moment. i haven't really had much of a chance to work on it since i've been busy and trying to focus on you are strange first, but i can say a part of the plot for chapter two is that jeongin tries chasing down an exclusive interview with superman, much to chan's dismay, he eventually gets it because of his ace investigative journalist skills (or so he thinks)

felix's story, which again isn't fully formed at the moment, takes place over the course of felix's first year on earth as he grieves and learns to be human basically

i don't have a snippet i'm happy with for the main fic but here's a bit from felix's story:

"I can't believe I've been frozen for almost twenty-eight years," Felix grumbles, he still hasn't gotten used to the fact that it’s been so long. That Chris is no longer the baby that Felix was put in charge of protecting. In fact, he’s not even younger than Felix anymore. Chris is a fully grown adult, and on this planet he is a superhero, powerful and strong and protecting others all over the world. Clearly not in need of protection, and certainly not from Felix. His first instinct is to protect Chris still even if he doesn’t need to, because in Felix's mind it was just a few weeks ago that he was barely able to walk, let alone talk. It all makes him feel unbalanced because his one purpose was to take care of Chris and he isn’t sure what he’s supposed to do now.  He frowns, "You were a baby to me and now you're... Old." "You're the old one," Chris retorts. "Not really," he says, "Being frozen does that to a person."

felix never bad: this one is actually my newest wip!! i actually had the idea for awhile now but never wrote it, i also have not actually written much more than two paragraphs for it. anyways, it's a seunglix fic based on the show dash and lily which if you're not familiar with is a series where the main characters become anonymous pen pals via a journal that they trade back and forth with dares to each other throughout the holiday season (hence the christmas evel ref). one of the characters is optimistic and loves christmas, the other is more gloomy and hates it (i'm sure you can guess who gets to be who); they encourage each other to try new things and of course fall in love through their words. it's so cute and wholesome, i want to write it for christmas but knowing me i probably won't have it finished in time for this year

😇 - a headcanon about their religion/lack thereof

when he was young and living with his parents - or his dad, at least, he was raised in (as I would hc) a christian house, before he became a newsie. at least by the time he's 17, he's stopped believing in any form of 'higher being' there could be - he figured, why believe in someone he's told as being 'so good' if he's given jack such a tough life. he knows some of the other newsies are religious, and jack likes to learn about their values and traditions so he can be inclusive to all newsies/everyone who lives at the lodging house.

👗 - a headcanon about their clothes

okay so. it took jack a while to find his signature look. when he first joined the newsies, a lot of what he wore was too big for him - he was pretty small and skinny for his age bc he'd just escaped from the refuge. the hat, when he first got it, was way to big for his head, and constantly fell off when he'd be out selling, and so he just kinda stopped wearing it, but keeps it hung up at the end of his bed. the striped undershirt he wears, jack found one night when medda let him hide out in her theatre from synder. it was part of an abandoned costume idea and felt nice against his skin, though pretty big for him at the time. when he tried to return the shirt to medda, she let him keep it. he started sleeping with it, and one cold night put it on as an extra layer and that's how it became part of his outfit.

😶 - a random headcanon

{gonna use my modern au for this one} since hannah, jack & medda all started living together, they've moved a couple times, as they took more kids in, but in each place they've made sure to give jack a painting area. in their current house, there's a shack at the bottom of the garden. hannah and medda helped jack turn it into an art studio, it's small but he absolutely loves it. he's painted the walls a sky blue, a colour he finds really calming. wears noise cancelling headphones and listens to movie soundtracks, specifically pirates of the caribbean, guardians of the galaxy, and anything else along those lines.

anya's family is upper-middle class! her parents are both lawyers and they got divorced when anya was a young teenager. it's probably cliche, but she always felt like the odd one out because of her passion in writing and she just never really connected with her parents on a deeper level.

9. What about political beliefs?

she's always been very liberal. her parents were neutral and it always bothered her that they didn't care more, so that pushed her to be even more outspoken about her beliefs <3

15. Did they graduate? High-School? College? Do they have a PHD? A GED?

she graduated high school and moved to the city to pursue a writing career! she felt pressured to go to college, but it just never appealed to her, and she felt like she didn't need to since she was making enough to support herself anyway!

40. Has your character ever been in love? if so, with who?

It was a long time coming and is honestly probably some cruel trick of fate (or a very self-indulgent creator), but Smasher is the first person Victoria has ever fallen in love with. She’s been in plenty of relationships before him but they were very much just things to scratch an itch of hers; someone to keep her bed warm and her nights less lonely.

While she and Smasher may have started in a similar vein, somewhere along the line she realised she loved him and then made the choice to nurture that feeling, for better or for worse.
