The customer service person who answered my questions slowly because I was panicking and having trouble understanding him. The moving van person who asked if they could come into a room to put some boxes down and waited for me to put my scarf on. The guy behind me who started laughing in a movie theater at a joke I made to a friend. The teenager on a scooter on the sidewalk. The couple on my block waving at me while they walked together.

Welcome To The World Of POKéMON!

“ What is this ? ”

if not obvious, this is a rp/askblog for the pokepasta Blue Tears , based on the original story and the remake & ROM hack.

this blog will not be art based, but it will contain art if i have time for it. it will be mostly textbox based/ replied will be given in textbox form, and most of the art will likely be official game freak art that was slightly edited if at all. there will also probably be a good deal of narrative replies/writing if i don't have time.

CWS:

on top of the original cws for the original pokepasta ( implied pokemon death, gore, violence/blood, suicide ), this blog will likely also contain mentions of neglect, strong language, and a llloot of nihilism.

INTERP INFO

while sticking as close to canon as i can, in order to make the blog, well, make sense, ill be adding a few details.

similar to @/pokemon-monochrome, the players ( askers ) have found an abandoned gameboy. and, well..you'll figure out the rest in the starter post.

So far, we know that

Blue is self aware

There seems to be some kind of vague difference between "BLUE" , your rival, and "TEARS", the one who kills RED over and over.

At some point, BLUE was forced to face Missingno, which correlated with his gaining awareness.

According to OAK, his parents died in a vicious Pokemon attack. He blames BLUE for this, as his parents had left the young boy at his lab out of worry that he'd get hurt, and had therefore felt more confident in taking a more dangerous trip.

OAK harbors guilt related to aforementioned incident. And on the topic of OAK, he is also self aware—he was from the start.

friendly advice from vetmed: I know that when your animal has an infection that is generating a lot of discharge, you want to describe that to the veterinarian, because it’s a concerning sign. that is true. I also know that the most common word for this type of discharge is “pus,” so it’s logical that that’s the word that you’ll use when describing what’s going on. and in English, we often add a “-y” when we’re using a word as a descriptor.

This sequence of episodes (Vergesson heist and its aftermath) are also a testament to the sheer determination of the mighty nein, both in the narrative and on a meta level.

When Trent shows up in Vergesson, Matt makes it clear that Ikithon wants to talk. He makes no actual attack on the PCs, and Matt openly expresses surprise when Caleb starts immediately casting offensive spells. They very easily could have been caught there, they only make it out because of Caleb’s nat 20 counterspell.

Then again in Nicodranas, Trent just wants to talk! He’s just curious! And he backs them into a corner that there really should be no way out of… but then they come up with a way. A crazy genius way that Matt could not have predicted.

In a situation where it would have been so easy to let the DM’s expectations combined with the mechanics of the situation guide them into a particular course of action… the mighty nein said ‘fuck that, it’s bad, we’re running’.

Ikithon’s manipulation and Matt’s signaling that a conversation is a viable story path is no match for Caleb’s abject fear and the Mighty Nein’s ride or die attitude. Caleb really said ‘this is the scariest man in the world and I’ll burn down anything including myself before I let him touch your families’ and the Mighty Nein said ‘we’re with you.’ This is the same party that walked across the continent to save part of their family, and it shows.
