#i was thinking abt how funny it would be if there was a shiftythrifting blog equivalent in lmk. and half the stuff on there is #submitted by wukong. so i thought a yard sale ep would be funny lol #basically the hoard becomes problem one way or another and wukong figures the best way to get rid of his junk is thru ebay #somehow ends up selling world ending artifacts to random megapolis citizens so mk mei and redson have to scramble to find em #purposely meant to mirror the weekly shenanigans s1-2 style eps that are really goofy (dumpling ep noodles ep etc)#but it gets darker and darker because MK is not fucking ok after that whole thing with the scroll and some unchecked identity crisis #for me id want him to kind of. freak tf out because they have to find MULTIPLE chaos inducing items that could end the world while trying t #be sillygoofy and funny about it. so hes trying to mask his panic with “ohhh guys its just like the good ol days ^_^ remember that ^_^”#ESPECIALLY after that whole thing with the ink scroll. also mei doesnt buy any of it and is worried for him the whole time #as for the B plot it could be monkey king also trying to be very relaxed abt selling 4000 years worth of stuff and tang getting all huffy #like “these are priceless artifacts that could help us learn so much about the past!! wtf man!!!”#and maybe it reveals smth like wukong not wanting to hold on anymore bc his past weighs him down. and theyre all reminders #i think azure mentioned that wukong is sentimental (idk if that was genuine or lying to mk) so that could be touched on to #so basically. the theme would be some sort of conversation abt nostalgia. i think. im not a writer so its very fuzzy in my head #if anyone wants to add on or include their own spin on it feel free. also included undercut redson as a treat somewhere in there #myart #lego monkie kid #monkie kid #lmk red son #lmk mei #lmk MK #lmk xiaotian #lmk xiaojiao #lmk sun wukong #lmk swk #doodles #lmk tang #lmk pigsy #lmk traffic light trio #yard sale ep

.... so i may or may not have discovered local online estate sales

well, MaxSold really. so it's like 1/3 estate sales, 1/3 moving out sales and 1/3 downsizing and it's like garage sales but the items are CONSIDERABLY more buckwild in some cases

i am telling you this because i just got outbid on a marble tray with brass handles and I think the emotions of a 2004-era chronic eBay trawler have subsumed my body

edit: there ARE still two hours left in the thing but would paying thirty two dollars on a tray i plan to eat charcuterie in bed off of be #worth?

breakfast at tiffany's, along with afternoon tea. had the pleasure of indulging in the most delicious finger sandwiches ever! the pastries were so soft and buttery smooth, they made for a perfect snack. i would have much preferred to wear a tiffany blue coord for the occasion, but all of my sax items were quite a few shades too light in comparison.. maybe next time!

my job wants me gone so bad , like 1 month in and they have already brought out their no effort in communication and gaslighting full force, and telling me much of the work I am doing is wrong and accusing me of not doing the basic things like stocking, that I try so hard and am sure to keep up with being the only person working at a time? like if they are going to do this at least do it while i am on the clock..

#this morning i kept apologizing for doing what i was told and trained to do and the lady sent so many messages of 'well I don't remember #telling you' over n over like ??? so then i had to apologize for her not remembering which like no one does that #to that extent unless they are trying to affect you negatively and or try to get you to say something they can use against you #like ive been abused enough i know how it goes 🙃 ??#and then they are like 'why would you be stupid and put in so much effort when you work the busiest shifts of the week?'#when like literally ive got a good eye for design and decent with sales so like i will touch a merchandise make it more presentable #and suddenly the next people coming in will be drawn to the item to buy like im their little magical willy wonka like they said they wanted #on their original job listing #and ofc there is no mention of how the floor is no longer just perpetual dirt mud to slather around bc i actually cleaned the floor #instead of doing there method of just mopping by putting a mop back in dirty mop water.. like you can visibly see the floor crusted when it #is like that and i wont even start on the dust #nor any mention to how the backroom hasnt remained cluttered from extra my extra tidying or severely cluttered by all the work i did #the last two days #just how i have consistently done a bad job not even keeping up with the basics apparently this entire time 😐#anyways 3 hours of my day Wasted and unpaid from how much they made me cry like there is so much more bot mentioned i hate itf

soooo since etsy is a minefield of shit now, what's the best place to have a lil online storefront? is there anything comparable to what etsy USED to be? or is etsy still the gold standard of "online crafts marketplace community" simply bc there's no competition?

#i was on etsy for a while then took a break and have not been happy with it since coming back #i used to get sales through the site search function and stuff you know??? and after my break it seems like that just doesn't happen #probably bc the search has become nearly useless due to becoming clogged with temu/aliexpress/whatever resellers and other garbage #that doesn't belong on etsy but etsy doesn't care enough anymore to do anything B)#so like why should i keep paying fees to list items that hardly anyone sees on a site that continues to become more and more user unfriendl

...yeah think I'll pass on the mogstation sale this season. Really not fair to US players.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but they also seem to arbitrarily crank up prices for some items but not as much for others, as if this wasn't an automated algorithm, just individual decisions for each item... Like, the price for the skipping kit only had a 3% increase in USD so I thought maybe they only raise USD prices for items on sale? but then, the dote emote isn't on sale either and it costs 32% more for US accounts...

So I thought maybe the higher the item price the smaller the difference? But the spensier Crescent Moon mount is also 32% more expensive for US accounts.

We would buy these items with euro or jp accounts and gift them to US players instead... if they hadn't removed the gifting feature for most of these ( ﾉД`)ｼｸｼｸ

I have the app for our store bc I get my meds through work on my phone and they announce every fucking sale like "$8,000 in SAVINGS!" and show every fucking item and every time I get that push notification I go "you shut your whore mouth and stop telling them ab that" gsgsgdgdg

Then I scour the online ad to make sure I don't have a gazillion sale items on there. Got lucky this time 😏 there's like just baby shit listed and it's two items, I don't even think they're on sale, just like "look what you can buy!" But still shut up stop telling people we have sales 😭 go away

I wanna make a longer post about how much like... how much labor there is taking place in the used clothing market that most people don't think/care about. But I have to sleep.

#idk why im so hot about this today but i truly genuinely am #short version: before claiming that something is overpriced try to take into account the following:#a lot more work. upfront cost. and time goes into reselling than you think.#its actually a skillset. and to get any real payout you have to treat it like a legit part time job #and if its a physical location that takes donations #a LOT of man hours go into sorting said donations. because people will just donate garbage straight up.#and then after the usable stuff is sorted out it's getting laundered (<- pretty much every second had store launders their clothes #you know how all goodwills smell the same? its because they all use the same detergent)#THEN each individual item needs to be organized & priced.#hours of work before its even put up for sale. and that also involves labor.#because you need people to actually put it out on the floor and ring it up and etc etc #lets not even get started on the admin hours involved if its a larger store #and if its a smaller store or an individual reseller there's a non-zero chance that they are also repairing and/or #altering items before they put them up for sale.#like sometimes the price really is about greed (the bastards of goodwill try to pull shit sometimes)#but often that's actually just what the item costs after processing

there's just something demoralizing about being encouraged to sell customers things that we both know they don't need

#bolo speaks #I work in retail. not bread and butter grocery store type retail like I sell things that are not necessities #at the start of every shift my supervisor reads out our sales quotas for the day and explains how I can best help meet them #sometimes including suggesting customers additional items on their order of Things That Are Already Not Necessary #and how much we're expected to sell so that we can earn more than this time last year.#but we cannot simply continue to increase profits forever. that's not possible.#and the onus to accomplish this is put on *us* low-level retail workers rather than acknowledge that #a customer may simply be unable or unwilling to buy what they must for us to meet our arbitrary goal.#idk. I don't want to do all that for a company that pays me eleven dollars an hour
