SKULL SHAPE: I was actually surprise by this, i REALLY didnt expect that😳😳😳 is the head shape that unique??? caz i used to see it everywhere- (twitter mostly) actually, there's kinda a reason behind why i choose this shape :) im really bad at drawing skulls, esp when its complicated, so i simplify it as much as possible to avoid an extra hour on the skull alone☠️ (my average time to draw head this style alone is fucking 10-15 minutes, THE HEAD ALONE OMG- just sketching no color NOTHING-)

EXPRESSION/FACES: i never thought ppl will say that too tbh, i thought i draw expression like many other ppl🥹 maybe ppl see Ink as the most expressive tho, since he IS 💖💖💖 when i draw characters, there's nothing behind those expression, i draw them mindlessly and brainless-😭

THE ONE LINE BROW THING: maybe this i can agree lol :)) I've been inspired alot from Japanese and Korean artstyle + itsroxxanex. Sooooo i did that, my friend used to kinda mock me ab it so i change to 2 brows for a while but IDK ONE BROW IS MY THING- it took just less space and i love simple things <3

SHADING: hmmm i dont really know ab this tho 😭😭😭 i think my way of shading is very generic. The only thing i think made my art pop is the highlights. Im kinda obsessed with light so jajdhdjsod I WANT LIGHT EVERYWHERE. Watching too much RossDraws just made me obsessed with color dodge- ...the shadows i just use default brush and mutiply and sometimes at more colors, thats it 🥹💖

JUST YOUR ARTSTYLE!: i dont think i have an artstyle yet 😭 idk i still change my style alot since June and im still growing, i changed my brushes almost every week and overall just utmost chaos. I somewhat still not satisfied with my artstyle, i want to soon find an artstyle that by just a glance you'll know its me😳😳😳 (ik its kinda weird)

Thanks for the ask! I've never told anyone about it and I'm so excited I'll give you so much unnecessary context. Oops long post.

My artistic journey

I've enjoyed drawing since I was little, but mostly I just drew doodles in my notebook. Anime was a big inspiration for my style and I wanted to create digital illustrations too. When I was a teenager, I tried using a mouse and a PC, and my finger and some app on my phone, but the results were always terrible. I told myself it was because I didn't have a drawing tablet, so "of course my drawings will look ugly" and stopped trying.

However, I promised a discord friend that I would do a drawing for her in December 2020. So, I downloaded this app called "Ibis Paint" on my phone and, with all my effort despite my lack of ability, I drew Harry using the app and my finger jskldhfsa

I was so hesitant and nervous about showing it to her. I could tell it wasn't pretty, just "weird and awkward", and I felt embarrassed. But she told me it was good (LIES) and somehow convinced me to share it with others on the server. Despite feeling shy, I shared it anyway. To my surprise, three people told me it was pretty! I appreciated their kindness.

It wasn't until March 2021 that I returned to drawing digitally and on a more consistent basis. I was mainly doing fanart for a game that I liked.

In May or June (I can't remember exactly), I stumbled upon an artist who created incredible art using Ibis Paint. And I realized that I didn't need a drawing tablet, just more practice and skill, because if they could do it, then I could do it too! That was the moment I began taking art more seriously (still as a hobby, though!).

Due to the pandemic, I had a lot of free time, which I used to watch a lot of tutorials, practice gesture and follow the advice of artists I liked. With every drawing I made, I could see an improvement, which motivated me even more to keep on working hard (drawing became a source of comfort during those depressing times. It was just really fun).

In late 2021, I mentioned to a childhood friend that I wanted to buy a drawing tablet, and he asked me if I wanted his old one, which I excitedly accepted. Finally, I had the tool that would make my art incredible… or so I thought! I was terrible with it. For the first few months, I preferred Ibis paint and my finger. But I eventually got the hang of it! What I love the most are the multiple brushes and pressure settings. I'm such a hoarder, even if I don't use all of them ksklajdl.

In 2022, I participated in several bigbangs and zines, but what I'm most excited to talk about is the tomarry comic that I started.

My tomarrymort art

I've read tomarrymort fics since 2017, but I wasn't active on the fandom. In 2020, I joined a writer's server (all love to Amanda) and met the friend I mentioned earlier. So technically, you could say my love for tomarrymort lead me here kek

Even though my main inspiration was a game, here is some fic fanart I made.

This is my first tomarry art (July 27th, 2021). It's a scene from Genius by the Numbers. I think it looks weird kjdshk

I also made art for A Mating of Convenience, what started in beautiful rooms, Dripping Fingers and for Ale, beloved. (I think I've never posted these before.)

Then two things happened: I saw comic on ao3 (If I'll Ever See You by festivewind) and I was like "WOW! THAT'S SO COOL" and "omg we can upload comics!"

The second thing was me being rejected as a webtoon background artist (naturally, as I wasn't good enough for the specifics) and the spite made me want to do my own so I could improve my weakness (the grind never stops 💪🔥).

I read some of my old notes for story ideas (I'm not good at writing but I still had some snippets of stories). And boom! Love triangle but the 3 of them are idiots (affectionate). Fun fact: the original version had a murder, someone in Azkaban and someone hating the other forever :D

Don't pretend started as an anonymous work because some of my friends knew my AO3 username and I was afraid of screwing up the format (I don't know html) and looking like a fool DKJALKSJL I was also afraid of possible backlash (I'm an over-thinker).

None of that happened (comments were very kind and nice!) But idk, it was nice being anon. I'm awkward and shy and I usually don't know what to say to compliments (Sometimes a "thank you" doesn't feel enough but that's all my brain can offer 😭)

Then I made some tomarry christmas art and shared it on TRoR discord server and someone asked me if I had Tumblr and I said no but that gave me the idea of making one.

Since I planned Don't pretend as being a long story, I realized it'd take me a long time to finish it and I wanted to contribute to the complete tomarrymort works! That's the reason I took a pause and made A Soulmate Like You.

Anyway, I made this tumblr on January 2023, and the plan was to fill it with art so, eventually, when I found the courage to make my works non-anon, I could link to this page. Except that I posted one drawing, and that was enough for isalisewrites to know it was me HJKASDJLA. So I stopped the anonymous thing.

I'm still not used to being "perceived" 👁️👁️ but I've learned it's not bad. People have been really kind and I think I'm less shy now! I'm very happy to be part of this fandom with lots of kind and supportive people and incredible fics and fanart <3

It's a very special girl's birthday!!!! April 1st is Cere's birthday!!! (Lei's best girl 😤😤😤)

So of course, I had to try to draw her as cute as possible to celebrate! It's not very good but I even tried drawing a hand... that's how you know I really tried this time LOL . Her hairstyle changes slightly every time I draw her but I think I've more or less settled on the bang style I'm going for with her.

Did you notice that there's a theme going on for the birthday art I've been drawing? 👀 Lei's friends are all wearing white turtleneck shirts and Lei's children are wearing black turtlenecks.

Of Lei's friends... in 2024 I drew Vail and now Ceres so there's one more mysterious (?) friend to draw who will appear in August 👀 I already drew Lei and Elise in 2023 but I'll redraw similar outfits for 2024 heheh so wait until then >:3

There's another favourite I want to draw in June but they're not really a Lei close friend... so I wonder how I'll do the bday art for that char? 🤔 There's also bday art I wanna draw for someone in Oct... and since I missed it last year another in Dec 😭 Too many things I want to draw so little time.

Hello! Your super secret santa here! Was looking through some of your tags to decide what to draw for you and wanted to ask some questions if that's okay ❤️

1.) For galaxies, do you have a ref of their full bodies and what the base might look like for Y/N? And perhaps what Y/N in the story might look like? I'm very interested in it as a subnautica fan myself haha!

2.) For eventide, are there any particular outfits you have for them that you prefer them in? And what kind of jobs they might handle? I don't know much about them but I would love to hear what info you do have to offer!

These are excellent questions! (I'm practically BUZZING with excitement already, omg)

Galaxies: Okay, so I do have a full-body one for Sun, and I'm going to post it here because at this point I don't know when the coloring book is getting released to everyone? Or if it already did? Anyway, so here's that, I've been a bit of a mess since May so I haven't even gotten around to finishing coloring this piece (it's my own coloring page, I recognize the irony). So, Fish-Sun in flats (with Sea Monkey babies):

Now, Moon didn't get finished because a lot of really awful things happened all at once at the end of May and beginning of June, I got repeatedly sick, and so I didn't get around to finishing Moon's coloring page yet. It'll be done eventually, but for now, I'll show you what I did do.

(it actually breaks my heart a little, because I had so many plans for this one, aaaahhhhhhh) So Moon's form in general is pretty similar to Sun's design (long, almost eel-like). He was supposed to have more spines that you can kinda see in the original sketch of Moon in the ref pic, and his design was going to be very inspired by a lionfish, spines down the back and at the "hips".

The end of his tail was actually inspired by an axolotl, I just really liked drawing the little fin on my original sketch (which is long gone) and was like "Yeah, don't care that it looks odd, he's an alien". I do have plans to add more sub-sections of the story later (piratespiratespiratespirates) and I'll probably have to design baby Sun and Moon eventually, but I imagine both will be similar to axolotls, since they're supposed to be related species.

Eventide: Actually yes, I did draw up a buncha outfits! I couldn't tell what was too many refs and what would be wanted, so I cut a bunch of doodles of Eventide that I've got.

So, Eventide is a child unit built by my YN with Sun and Moon's help. She starts as a small child (5-6 years old) and "grows up" (through physical upgrades and hardware updates as her AI learns and grows) with her mum, two dads, and two human sisters. Story-wise, I have the plot for her to get up to about 15-16 (not because she dies, just because I haven't planned beyond that), and she wants to do all sorts of things. Legally, she is the property of YN and not Fazzbear Entertainment, and I'm not sure how to address the whole "can she legally have a job?" thing because I also don't know how to address the whole "Robots are people too, but how do I give them rights", so mostly it's the typical teenage/child level of "I want to be a ballerina and a doctor and a scientist and also I want to do what Mom does (officially, a handler for Sun and Moon and considered an expert in certain kinds of AI and human interactions that go into having a complicated family situation (two robot partners, two human children, one robot child)) and also she wants to do what Sun and Moon do (they will eventually be "retired", this is an agreement YN has with Fazzbear after a disastrous situation at another location, and they will be released permanently into YN's care at that point, but again, that's further down the line). At this time, her "job", as YN states (eventually, when I get there in the story), is to "be a kid and find out what all that means". (As for what she will probably do, I'm leaning towards a baker/barista, a marine biologist, or an artist of some sort.)

I did a thing where I worked very hard to write my last oneshot so that my word count would be exactly 20.000 - I cannot believe it!! I find it so cool that I have written this much! I also got to do my very first art round robin and first art collab this year. I remember for the round robin I was so nervous and spent an insane amount of hours on coloring cause I did not want to disappoint XD

Oh my, listing them up like that, that’s quite a number of events!!!

Closing notes-ish ----------- Looks like I never got to writing a closing note but that’s okay, I’m going to post this anyway, leave it as is for like a week and then back date it so it shows up correctly in my archive (I’m a stickler for that XD). I’ve actually been working on recaps going over the last year so I’ll be posting some more of those till I’m caught up. I like having a diary like this~ I’ve also still been struggling massively with creative blocks in both writing and drawing so I’m going to just focus on other aspects of fandom and see where is goes, you never know whe inspiration hits.

(I finally figured out how to do the multi picture table thingy, it was easy.) Damn. The last NEW art thing I posted on Tumblr was eight months ago. I think highly of "Supa Paypa Sistas", even though it was a bit rushed. But for while after ehh June? I was totally burnt out and I didn't feel like making or doing anything artistic. Luckily, that changed during July and August when I became inspired because I did a bit of * t r a v e l i n g ! * and just getting out of the house and exposing myself to other things. Unfortunately, not enough music... but I'll get to that soon.

So what are these drawings? I hope you like my OC (Nina) because she's fucking everywhere, and all but two of these drawings are concepts/ideas that revolve around her world. In fact, let's get those two out the way:

The Sonic one (#6): it was made after I taught my brother how to draw Sonic and Daria (he forced me to, send help). He has the paper I drew the prototype on, so if I can get that paper, I will post it. The two Sonics are based on the depictions of him during the 90s, from Japan (the left) and North America (right). No European, though, sorry. While the American Sonic is based more on Greg Martin's work, Japan's Sonic is now an amalgamation of a lot of the Sonic I've drawn in my life because my spark to draw arose FROM Sonic CD, so that specific Sonic is the one I've known most. They have sentences near them too. JP Sonic's quote is reference to Sonic CD. Not anything specific, but a central message/theme of the vocal songs to believe in yourself. Obviously, US Sonic's quote is a reference to one of his catchphrases spoken by Jaleel White in the cartoons.

Next is the two-point perspective practice (#9). Nothing much else. It looks decent, I think, but what do you think? I didn't have a ruler on hand for any of these perspective drawings, so every gridline you can see was hand drawn and looks like sewing stitches.

Ok then, let's talk Nina.

Drawings #1, #2, and #8 include Clearix Forest. #8 isn't really that place, but it's what I thought of while I was drawing, so I've included it with the other two just because. Now, I want draw attention to the trees before anything else. #1 prominently features this Emerald Hill-esque palm tree as an odd one out of what I think are weeping willows. #2 has all the trees the same palm-lookin' trees at different heights, which I like in this drawing, but in execution of the "real thing", whenever that comes, it's not what I want. The rainforest is said (by me, the creator LOL) to have the most diversity in vegetation of all the land. *looks at notes* Wait no it doesn't. It just says it has the most vegetation of all the land, no diversity. But just by having the most, isn't that enough to mean "oh there's a lot of different greens in this green hell maze right?" right? #8 also shits on the stale vegetation AND the fact the rainforest is NOT flat, it does have a few slopes, but not as crazily varied of slopes as Lunar Valley. Speaking of Lunar Valley...

#7, fittingly, is just a valley with a river running down the middle. Lunar Valley is not structured like this. It does have rivers and streams, but not one big central one flowing through it all. This valley illustrated here is not supposed to be Lunar Valley, but I thought of this place while drawing. Again, it is not Lunar Valley. BECAUSE THE SUN IS THERE OMG oh wait #2 is a more accurate depiction of what it looks like. See for yourself. Nina is in shock of the world she lives in.

#3 was one of the post-burnout drawings that sprang from my mind. Well err, I suppose everything here is post-burnout, it's just this one was of the earliest artworks I have scanned, but anyways, this drawing is a meta joke on how Nina's arms reach past where they would end for any normal human, assuming the particular person has arms in the first place. But hey, the best part is she'll give the warmest, but probably tighter hugs since her arms can constrict.

#5 is another inaccuracy of the world. It might not be, I haven't decided yet, but most likely it won't be because of the flowers AND the Bob Ross lookin' ass fence you see down there (who put that fence there). Lunar Valley does have flower. Singular. But it only sprouts at night and when the moon shines in the sky. You can also see Mt. Ebott Undertale in the distance here because that's part of the story.

Lastly, #4 represents my connection to my character. One of my cousins called it "sus" (insert Jerma face) and I can't understand why. What, is it phallic? Personally, I don't think it matters since that's not the point or the imagery I was going for. It's just two hands (one is a claw) touching via index fingers. Also I don't care what you think it is, unless I purposefully leave it up to the viewers' interpretation.

Let's get this out the way right now, Super Sonic, Nina, and the cake were drawn in the same night.

It's been a VERY long time since I've drawn a Super Sonic as good as this--I'm talking, what? 2014?? I think??? It was a nice coloured one, too. I liked it so much I cut it out and taped it to my wall. I remember I overlapped one of his lines wrong so his ear looked weird. So why does this one have hot dog shoes and a 15min above his hand? It was getting late, had shit to do.

Nina is back at it again, doing Nina things. Here, I drew her without boots this time. I don't have a reason why I did that night, but I think it's good to know what they might actually look like since it's not a part I'm too focused on for her anatomy. I mean, I have drawn them before, just look at my #Inktober2021 posts, she's in there somewhere with them... DOGS out. Sorry, I thought that'd be amusing anyway, the bottom line is that a lot of idea and study has to go into an animated character, y'know what I'm saying? ...wait i just noticed her left hand is fucked. she has two right hands HWAT HAVE I DONE--

Perhaps the most sentimental to me: the nacho bear. It wasn't a commission, @molly_bender_art just, asked me to draw a bear with sunglasses eating something, but I think she asked for cheese, specifically. Looking at it now, it probably was cheese. Please check out her stuff, maybe commission her? Just sayin', schwing by!

Addendum: Apr. 20, 2024. The nacho bear was something I had posted to my Instagram on Aug. 21, 2023. That post gave the drawing a silly narrative with writing that was inspired by the Arabian Nights book (that I have to start over because I stopped reading when the summer ended, and if I go too long without reading an in-progress book, I feel like I have to start ALL over). The post read:

@molly_bender_art this fo' u boo ;) The bear, marveling with exceeding marvel, gasped "THE NACHO!" It shined with such a brightness that the bear's sunglasses almost weren't enough; they were cheap specs.

Okay, okay, you might be bored of reading this, but rest assured, this is the last part, you can probably see the end of the post, I bet. So, along with the burnout came a dry spell of no animation. Not even flash animation. Well recently, I put together two animations just to get my footing back, called "yes, sir" and "ból". It's all practice; the first one looks fine, using the cube drawing technique I did back in Nina's test pilot, but the ball's physics are off a bit. It just sorta...increases velocity more than it should after being thrown up. Furthermore, the wall bouncing should loss strength after each bound. It's been a while since I did physics, please correct me if I'm wrong about what I said. ok..... so why does Tumblr look like Twitter now?

My #1 post of 2022

I wanna see this as a story, yandere styled or not.

Here’s an idea:

A person (the reader/y/n) an artsy person, having drawn/painted her boys (the bonten members) and hung it up on their wall.

It’s a split type art (with one side it’s their younger self and the other their older/bonten self)

One day they wake up to just discover that their living room (or bedroom since that’s where the paintings/drawings are at) is holding the Bonten crew.

And the reader is like: ‘omg omg oh my gosh, what the heck my guy?!’

While the gang is wondering: what is going on, what happened, why they’re here, and how they got there.

After a VERY confusing and borderline dangerous clear up on what’s happened (the reader explaining that they’re a story/show they watched and that they are no longer in their “world” but the readers) they try to get hooked/synced into their new life they’ve been stuck in.

Later to find out that reader is a little artsy freak who’s got them hanging on their wall, next thing you know Ran is being a tease on the matter, and the cast is just like: wth O.o.

How the story would end I have no idea lol maybe they settle Into their new life and reader ends up with one of them 🤔 maybe a little bit of lemon/smut/NSFW content to add to the mix 🧐

Seems like a good story/oneshot to meeeeee😂😍

I'm feeling great now. After about 2..3 months..I finally got to talk to Fairy again. We've been friends since we were both 10. Me ACTUALLY being the oldest. I am a March, Fairy is a June.

  How I wish I didn't introduce Fairy to Dances with Bricks though. They did the same thing as Scales and Knight are doing now. First Dances with Bricks decided to try this internet relationship thing with Fairy's friend, Seij(Jess). I guess the story why Dances with Bricks and Seij broke up was because, Seij found out that Fairy also liked Dances with Bricks. Seij gave him up for her...(if thats not a true friend shoot me), but that "relationship" didn't last long. Fairy soon found a real boy that she could visibly laugh and touch. How did you first get into art? And how did you learn? Im beginning to learn drawing now and am excited/scared for the process

Oh hell yeah, there is a lot to be excited for! The ability to create an image out of what You carry in Your head is a super cool thing, so I hope You enjoy it <3 I don't think there is really anything to be scared of tbh, except that it takes time to get places, but what doesn't.

For me it was a three part journey. Part one was a classic "I've been drawing since i remember and then i went to art school" which in my case ended in me really disliking drawing to the point i convinced my teachers i should focus on photography actually, so i was doing that for a couple of years instead. Which from the perspective of time was quite useful, because I'm using tons from what i learned in photography field now and I appreciate all that, but back then i was was like: drawing sucks lol.

Part two was me having a massive depression episode in my 20s that put me out of the game for several years, but I needed some outlet to communicate and express myself, and drawing seemed perfect for it since it involved only me and a piece of paper, so I got back to it and was drawing maniacally for like two years until i got to the point I thought that maybe i can use it for something and went to take exams to Art Academy. And got rejected. I got pissed at drawing again, and instead went to filmschool, focusing on stop motion animation because fuck drawing but i still want to express myself somehow and i'm done with photography so lets try some different medium. I benefited TONS from this decision, and I was still drawing some because storyboarding and designing, but it wasn't my main focus and i stopped thinking about it as of "my main thing".

Part three is me getting into fandom and roleplaying spaces in the internet. It's 2011 and I'm almost 30 in this story already, so I did took my time lol, but I just discovered that people are doing KICKASS illustrations for media they enjoy and characters they imagined and that this is like, A Whole Thing. I started doing this and it turned out to be a really good place for sharing stuff, meeting people, talking about things i enjoyed etc etc, so i kept doing it making it my new little hobby this time, not a project i need to succeed in in any way and that seemed to work. And then it's June 2016 (I remember over which artwork it happened, hence the precise date) and I feel that i may be actually loving this, but omg it pisses me off i need so much time for each artwork and it still doesn't look like i want it to look, so you know what, let's actually try to make some conscious decisions about developing this skill, but on my own this time. I started to learn by watching other artists and trying out their methods and things they recommend, picking what i liked and dropping what didn’t work for me. And this is the part of the journey I'm still in now, but it's quite pleasant.

archie is a complete fucking GOOFBALL!!! he's deffo one of my big faves in tswb because he's like,, the Light of it all... ive sort of decided that the vibes of tswb will be like melancholy, so i think his character will fit in really well! he's a been a part of the football team since middle school! coming out was really easy for him since everyone liked him anyway and just kind of seen it as him being an idiot. ryan is his boyfriend and he is in Deep love with him. they've been together about three years? and archie has been there to support ryan through his transition!

they're v much polar opposites as archie is super playful and goofy and dumb and ryan is very stern and smart and quiet, and i think thats honestly what makes them so fucking cute together anbd its so fun to write. v much self indulgent because thats my favorite trope ever. ryan is gonna be a be a super interesting character to write since i will be able to explore gender identity much more which is smth i'm very much interested in and also currently going through! thankfully i have many trans identifying friends who can help me with him ((and also myself LOL)) ! i want to stray away from the "kicked out cus of my sexuality" thing as much as i possibly can, but honestly, as "cliche" of a mark it makes in many lgbtq+ stories, it is a very real thing that many lgbtq+ people go through, especially transgender people.. so while it wont be his main highlight, its still a thing.

tbh i always forget about june for some reason but when i start to think about them and realize they are also apart of this story i just remember that i FUCkINGH love them and i NEED to incorporate them better!!!! i think their depth is my favorite out of all the characters. they have a history with substance abuse as i really want to draw attention to the opioid epidemic that is especially spreading widely through teenagers, and i really never see that written as a Normal thing that some people go through when it really should be recognized as a disorder/disability or whatever else one would want to consider it. i would get into detail about my opinion about that, but i won't for the sake of keeping my infodump mildly short.... plus this is only supposed to be a minor thing that has to do with their character as they have mostly gotten past it, i think its just smth very important to them and they're not at all shy about it.

june's design is also one of my favoritessss,s, they're very much inspired by like a 80s disco/arcade color palette. i think i want them to be as vibrant as possible to contrast their stoic front. there IS someone past the walls they have built up , and that someone is actually really fun and amazing and loving <333

together their whole dynamic is like two hardheaded mfs co-parenting a wild child and i think its beautiful. i think the three of them would be capable of supporting their own entire novel just bc their dynamic is so good!! and even tho ryan and archie are together, june and archie probably get along so much more because june is a big risktaker and ready for any ridiculous adventure.
