Look what Unfriendly built for Gigabyte! The LED strip has a remote to change the colors. I helped him screw it into the side of the ramp by holding it still and in alignment.
This is before the upgrade:

Hi Hunny! Thank you so so much. I will take any excuse to write about my loverboy. I hope this is okay!
James x gn!reader, kind of shy!reader, tooth-rotting fluff.
cw: too cheesy, brief mention of smut, nothing graphic
750 words
“Angel! I’m home!” You couldn’t help but smile as you heard his bag drop against the wood floor. He put on the same antics every time he came back from sports practice, throwing his bag down on the ground (no matter how many times you say to put it on the bench), and yelling whatever pet name comes to his mind at that moment. He was always finding little honorifics to call you, he was just sweet like that. You heard the heavy thumping of his socked feet as he ran down the hall into your living room.
“Hi Jamie! How was practice?” You beamed at him. He was really pretty like this, his curls were damp and his face was flushed. He looked cozy in his sports hoodie and black sweats.
“It was good, we ended a bit early so I got a shower in the change room.” You believed that. He smelled strong of his woodsy cologne. “How was your day, Baby?” You put the book you were reading down to give your boyfriend your full attention, still careful to mark the page.
“It was good. I did some studying and some work but I mostly just sat here doing nothing.” You smiled up at him and chuckled. “I should start working on dinner soon though, what do you want to have?”
“You.” He said, deadpan. But it only took three seconds for him to break and start giggling, too satisfied with his joke.
“Jamie,” you chided. “Pick something real to have.” You rolled your eyes and shook your head, but you were still smiling, somehow still endeared by his usual antics.
“You look pretty real to me, Angel. But I guess it wouldn’t hurt to check.” You had little time to figure out his meaning when he launched himself over the arm of the couch to lay on top of you. You squealed as he tugged your hips down, forcing you to lay flat against him.
“Baby! I’m real, but I’m not real food.” You reasoned, not hesitating to thread your fingers through his hair. You weren’t always the best at initiating contact, but when James did, you couldn’t stop. You started gently scratching his scalp, attempting to calm him, but he was determined in his teasing. Despite your words he started frantically pressing open-mouth kisses all over your face.
“You may not be real food,” He said in between his loving attacks, “But you do taste good.” He grinned at you, too satisfied with himself.
“Jamie,” You sighed, giving up discouraging him. Noticing your surrender, he pushed himself up, still over you and looked down at your face. His big, brown eyes bore into your soul, making you squirm under his gaze.
“There you go,” He grew even more satisfied. He was the nicest boyfriend ever, but he did take joy in making you go all shy underneath him. “There’s my baby.” He pressed another kiss to your forehead. His voice grew quieter with you being so close to him. “Finally letting me love on you without turning into a mess.” Ironically this made you even more flustered, but being as kind as always, James chose to ignore it.
“I love you.” You smiled shyly at him.
“I love you too, Angel.” He said back at you. He glanced over to the side table. “What are you reading?”
“O. Henry short stories.” You moved your fingers to the curls at the nape of his neck, still being just as loving.
“Read some to me?” He looked at you hopefully.
“You’ll be bored, they’re not really your style.” You leaned your neck up to kiss his cheek, and he rewarded you with a smile.
“But you’re my style, and I like it when you read to me.” And you couldn’t say no when he was looking at you like that. As soon as you nodded he set about fixing you both, you leaning against the arm of the couch, book in hand. He laid with his lower legs hanging off the opposite end of the couch and his face nuzzled against your lap and tummy.
“Okay, which story do you want to hear?” You let your free hand roam over his broad shoulders and back, knowing they were probably tensed and ached from his practice.
“Whichever, Angel. Just let me lay here and listen.” He was being equally as feely with you, grabbing and gently pinching your hips and thighs while you started your story.

Wally's POV
The morning had arrived as I yawned, my hair in my face as I stretched to wake myself up. It was about seven 6 a.m but I couldn't help but lie in bed thinking about yesterday's events.
After the neighbor and I talked about what we needed for the competition, I went straight back Home in search of records to use. Thankfully I had a few that were in working condition that we both could use to practice, just slow enough to get some footwork down, they were some of my favorite records after all which helped ease my mind.
"I still can't believe they wanted to join a dance competition...I didn't know they were into dance." I grumbled to myself, putting my hand over my eyes. "Have I ever seen them dance before? Why did they even..? I thought they didn't even want to act again in a play, isn't that what the winner is rewarded with?"
My head hurt already, but I couldn't help but chuckle. It was all so silly in reality! My neighbor was always so excited about learning new things, I guess I really should have seen this coming, but still???
Shaking my head, I sat up out of bed, dragging my feet over to the side as I went and changed into my outfit for the day. Grabbing my blue cardigan and red tie, I quickly put both of them on as I sat down in front of my mirror, staring at myself with my hair down.
"I wish my hair could stay up permanently..." I grumbled, grabbing a brush to smooth it out, then tease it out, slowly forming the pompadour on my head as I grabbed some hairspray to keep it still.
"Home, do you recall if we have any books here about dance?" I spoke, and a very soft and quiet squeak was heard from the door as I shook my head. "I'll definitely have to grab some from Howdy or Frank today then. I need to be a good dancer for my neighbor! I can't let them down today! Or ever...I don't want to upset our dear neighbor."
After combing my hair, I headed straight to the kitchen, grabbing some apples to eat as a snack, and I looked out the window. The neighbor didn't live as far, fortunately, but they were near the forest near Eddie's Postal shop.
"It's better to be early than late, I might as well be on my way!" Wally spoke happily, looking at the time which read eight am. "Do I really take that long to style my hair...?" I shrugged. "What can I say, I always want to look my very best. You can't rush perfection~"
With Home opening the door for me, I made my way towards our Neighbors home!
...
Making it to the door, I knocked.
"Neighbor! I know I'm early, but I figured an early start is better than no start!" I spoke happily. I waited a couple of minutes until knocking again. Maybe they were still sleeping?
I heard some feet shuffling behind the door accompanied by a couple of groans, as I heard the click of the door opening.
"God, the sun is bright..." They grumbled, rubbing their eyes. Their hair was all messy and tangled, and it looked like they still had their oversized pajamas on. I couldn't help but chuckled. They looked so silly! Silly, Silly...
"Well, yes, neighbor, it is the sun. What do you expect?"
Neighbor rolled their eyes and simply waved me inside.
"Make yourself comfortable, I have some water beginning to boil for some tea. Let me just make myself look alive." They grumbled sleepily as they went to presumably go get changed.
I couldn't help but look around their place. The walls were a wonderful shade of light blue as there were fairy lights adorning the walls. They had many bookshelves of books, as well as many soft pillows and blankets. Neighbor sure did love to be cozy! I couldn't help but chuckle to myself when I heard the kettle. Walking over to the kitchen, I looked around, grabbing some green tea bags and some honey, I grabbed a mug from the cupboard and put the teabag in along with the hot water and honey.
"Ahh...that feels much better," Neighbor spoke, as I turned to look towards them. I could feel my eyes dilate as I looked at them, absorbing the new information. They had on a rainbow-striped short-sleeved shirt with some blue jean shorts with some black tennis shoes. Their hair was brushed neatly back and pulled back out of their face.
"Hello? Earth to Wally?" The neighbor waved a hand in front of my face as I shook my head.
"Sorry, neighbor! I like your attire -" I coughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of my neck. They looked cute! Cute? Friendly cute! Yes!
Neighbor couldn't help but roll their eyes, taking the cup of tea I laid out and taking a sip. You could see them visibly perk up.
"Oh, that's some wonderful tea, thank you!" They spoke happily, taking another sip as they sighed. "We gotta get down to business today! I have nothing to wear for any of this, and I do have some books about dancing, just not about foxtrot..."
"I'm sure Howdy's open by now if you would like to hurry on over neighbor."
"Might as well! Besides, I want to ask around and see who else is in the competition! Maybe we can catch some of them dancing~" They spoke, drinking the last bit of their tea before putting it in the sink.
"Well, we know Eddie and Frank are competing since, you know... Sally pretty much ran to them after us." I spoke, Neighbor chuckling. "I wonder who else is competing, though, maybe Barnaby and Julie? It can't just be two groups. There needs to be more."
"Well! That's what we can go to Howdy's and ask! Being the shopkeep, others have to get things to right?" Neighbor perked up, grabbing my hand, obviously very excited. "Let's get going then!!"
Without even getting a word in, they dragged me right out the door to Howdy's shop.
...
Reader's POV
Hurrying to Howdy's shop, holding Wally in my hand, I barged through the door, the little bell ringing to signify people have entered.
"Oh? Neighbor! Wally! Welcome to the Bugdega. Can I help you find anything?" Howdy asked happily, fixing his little hat and setting down a box with his other set of hands.
"Hi Howdy! I was actually wondering if you had any clothes or books? Particularly about dancing!" I spoke happily, glancing around the store, walking up to a couple of pairs of shoes.
Howdy couldn't help but laugh. "Sally got to you to huh? I take it your joining in the competition?"
"Yes, we are, Wally is actually my partner!"
Howdy looked towards Wally, then back at me. "Him?? Wally, I thought you didn't know how to dance, nor cared to?"
Wally rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. "Neighbor wanted to, and they needed a partner! Simple as that! Can't I help out a good friend?"
Howdy gave Wally a certain look, I figured out Wally's face getting slightly red. "It's not like that!!" He grumbled, turning his head away as I raised an eyebrow, shrugging my shoulders as I went back to looking at the shoes, grabbing a pair of white tennis shoes with a red stripe down the sides. Walking back over to the counter, I put the shoes on them, then went to the books to search.
"Is it so unusual to want to try something different? It's getting hotter out and I'm bored! Besides, a little competition could be fun, and it's good to learn something new. How hard can it be to learn how to dance?" I spoke, finding a book about the different types of dances, as well as the basics, grabbing it as I put it on the counter.
Wally grabbed some water bottles, putting them on the counter as well. "Yes, exactly! Actually, Howdy, we were curious if you knew of anyone else wanting to join?"
Howdy put a hand to his chin, folding his other limbs across his chest. "Hmm... I do believe Frank and Eddie will be entering. I saw those two dancing the other night, as sweet as can be! You know how Frank loves to learn. He probably already has some knowledge, and Eddie is quick on his feet, so that's probably gonna be your main competitors! Other than that, I'm not sure, I believe Poppy was thinking about it but was too nervous, I know she still has time to decide." Howdy spoke as he began to put the items in brown sacks with the Bugdega logo on it.
"Hmm... maybe we can catch them in the act? Maybe seeing how good they are might give us a shot of what we are up against!" I spoke happily, Wally looking over wide-eyed.
"You mean SPY on them? That's not very neighborly! They deserve their privacy!"
"And we deserve to see how good our competition is~" I spoke with a smirk, looking over at Howdy. "How much?"
Howdy looked down at the items. "Hmm... tell me your best joke!"
I paused, thinking a moment. "Why do you tell actors to 'break a leg'? ...Because ever play has a cast."
Howdy erupted in laughter. Man, I didn't even think it was that funny, but his laugh was infectious, and I couldn't help but join in.
"Ok ok that's a good one. Let's hope you two don't get hurt during this. Dance injuries are no joke!" Howdy spoke, waving us off as I grabbed my new book and shoes, Wally grabbing the waters.
"You take care, Howdy! It's been getting hot!" Wally spoke, opening the door for me as we stepped outside, hearing the door shut behind us. I couldn't help but glance towards Frank's house. Wally looked where I was looking and raised an eyebrow.
"Come on, neighbor, let's go put these up -"
"Aww, come on, Wally, I'm sure it's fine to do a little bit of snooping~" I spoke, taking a step towards Frank's home.
"Neighbor, I swear if we don't go back to Home right now -"
I smiled, taking more slow steps to Frank's house before sprinting in its general direction.
"NEIGHBOR- UGH!' I heard Wally yell behind me before following after me. I smiled in victory as I ran towards the tall flower bushes near Frank's home as I knelt down behind them. He kept those for the butterflies and other insects to study. It would only make sense they he grew flowers for the bugs around him.
I could hear soft, slow music play, as Wally finally caught up to me, catching his breath as he sent a playful glare my way. I smirked, sticking my tongue out before motioning for him to be quiet and listen. It sounded like 'Can't take my eyes off of you' was playing, as I heard two voices speaking. Standing up, I peaked through the bushes and fence, seeing Eddie and Frank smiling.
They were both dancing slowly, Frank smiling happily as Eddie looked at him with adoration as the two practiced slowly. You motion Wally to stand up and watch, to which he obliged, staring at the scene ahead of us. He couldn't help but smile softly, and honestly, I couldn't blame him. It was sweet seeing Frank smile, as he often frowned. I couldn't help but be amazed at their dance moves, though. They almost seemed to be pros if it wasn't for Eddie at least, who fumbled on his feet and seemed to mess up on his cues. Frank had more rhythm between the two, but in the moment, it seemed neither of them cared. They were just happy to dance with each other.
Wally and I looked at each other, nodding in mutual agreement to give them some privacy. We sneakily and quietly got out of earshot and began to make our way back towards home.
"Did you see that?? Wasn't that so sweet??" I couldn't help but swoon. I was a sucker for romance. What can I say? I loved reading romance and falling in love with other characters. But loved always seemed to avoid me, maybe one day though someone would sweep me off my feet.
"They are dating after all. Though, it does seem like we have some good competition." Wally chuckled, though I couldn't help but be off in my own dream world.
"I hope one day someone will look at me the way Eddie looks at Frank." I sighed happily, to which Wally chuckled.
"I know someone will. You are the most, I'll say." He spoke simply. I rolled my eyes. He's my friend, of course he would say that!
Finally making it to Home, it opened its doors for Wally and I, as I held onto my book, walking to and sitting on the couch while Wally put the waters on the counter.  "We got some supplied, I got some records. We should read through the books next to get a better idea, yea?" Wally spoke, coming to the couch to sit next to me, as I opened the book.
"Yea, that might be a good idea... I do have some musicals that we could watch as well. If you want to, I could read the book to you, and tonight we could watch some movies? Just to get an idea."
Wally smiled, nodding as he looked towards the book. "That's more than ok with me, neighbor." He spoke, sitting with his head against his hand. I couldn't help but smile as I scooted close to him, as I began to read from my book, feeling a pair of eyes on me on occasion as I spoke. Though it was a small start, it was a start in the right direction. I didn't mind reading to Wally anyway, and based on how relaxed he was?
I don't think he minds either.

Post fix-it (Anakin doesn’t go Dark and fulfills the prophecy, clones get civil rights, everyone is happy or on the way to it). Cody speaks about problems concerning clones’ and his own appearance. Hurt\comfort, romance, discussion of sexual harassment.
Only a couple of months ago Cody wouldn’t believe if anyone told him that the war would be over, and the Clone Rights Bill would pass. Yes, a lot of work is needed to be done – settling cadets and shinies saved from Kamino, helping the Jedi get back into ‘diplomatic’ style, figuring out what the veterans want to do with their lives – but right now Cody is content and doesn’t think about it. At least, he tries. Obi-Wan is sitting right next to him in a cozy loveseat, in front of the cracking fire, leaning into him and reading some news on his holopad. Cody promised himself that he won’t speak about heavy topics at night – they both have had enough during the daytime, and Obi-Wan needs some rest after he and other Jedi rummaged through Sith artifacts they found hidden by Palpatine.
But a couple of thoughts, doubts are nagging in the back of Cody’s mind.
And Obi-Wan must have felt it, because he closes the pad and turns to him.
Cody raises an eyebrow in a lame attempt to avert the attention.
 – What is bothering you, my dear? – Concern is written all over his face, and Cody hates it.
 – Nothing serious. Just some stupid thoughts, not important.
 – Which are so not important that your uneasy emotions emanate all around?
Cody remembers how hurt Obi-Wan was after discovering all the lies Anakin Skywalker had been hiding through several years – from negative emotions like fear and jealousy to secret marriage to murder of the whole Tusken tribe. Now he knows Cody’s also hiding something… Of course, it’s nothing as bad as it was with Skywalker, but the fact remains.
 – Well, sir… Obi-Wan, - Cody’s still not used to calling him familiarly. He shifts a little bit facing him fully. – I’ve heard some brothers mentioning that before, and, frankly, I still don’t know what is the right way to react and what to do.
Obi-Wan furrows eyebrows, but listen attentively, and more concern bleeds into his eyes. And Cody hasn’t even told yet what actually happened.
 – They weren’t complaining per se, just confused. They say when they come out onto the streets, sometimes, I guess, some not very polite strangers – some natborns comment on them. You know… appearance. Call them pretty or handsome or attractive while not being asked for any kind of such compliments. And… I suppose, we are attractive to some, though it’s hard to tell when you see your face every day and you don’t even need a mirror, - Cody lets out a small self-deprecating smile, but Obi-Wan only furrows further. – They’re confused – during the war we also walked around sometimes without our buckets on, but no one reacted like that. No one noticed any attractiveness. But now, as we’re still in the centre of attention, now suddenly they see us.
Obi-Wan opens the mouth, but Cody isn’t finished yet:
 – Today I was walking to my workshop to complete these wooden porg toys for younglings, when someone stopped me and started flirting with me. – He feels uneasy even thinking about it. He’s never felt so awkward before. Not even after he kissed Obi-Wan for the first time and then started mulling over – maybe, he was kissing badly, maybe, he had a bad breath – and not even when after this his former General began reassuring him everything was fine. No, it was a feeling similar to when after several years with the Jedi respecting them and teaching self-worth he looked back on their collective life on Kamino. They were created for the Republic. Units to serve. To be used and discarded. But then the Jedi insisted that they’re not units, but people. Everyone deserves respect. And they were mistreated both by the Kaminoans and the Senate. It was impossible to even start realizing that it shouldn’t have been like that. How must they react now to the previous treatment they’ve got used to? Especially these days, when they’re recognized as sentients? Quite often they were never seen at all or as furniture at best. But now they are at last considered, called pretty, so it is good, right? But why does it feel wrong? – And it felt wrong. I was looked at, admired for my physic, but I wasn’t seen at all. It doesn’t make sense, right? – Cody chuckles self-deprecatingly again, feeling stupid for not being able to figure out his own emotions.
 – It does. – Obi-Wan sighs. – First you’re not seen at all, now you’re seen as beautiful dolls. Two sides of the same coin. It shall take time for the general public to realize fully that you have the same rights of respect as anyone else. And it does make sense you do not feel good when called like that, especially when not asked for any kind of such attention. I think I shall talk to Healer Che and Knight Secura about it, maybe Master Tapal also – they can organize something for the Brothers, some lessons specifically about such situations. Mace should know, too – I think about political implications of addressing such attitude…
 – Isn’t it too much? Overreacting? – Cody doesn’t want any trouble for both his brothers or the Jedi. Catches Obi-Wan’s somber gaze and deflates: - I guess it’s not. Thank you for bothering.
 – Not bothering, it’s serious, - Obi-Wan’s eyes are immensely sad now. – I’m so sorry it happens to you all. Thanks for telling me.
One boulder is off Cody’s shoulders.
 – But there’s something else, right?
 – Yeah, it’s more personal… and really stupid, - Cody hesitates, then tugs his shirt, pulls it over his head and throws on the floor. Rolls his shoulders, straightening his back: - Who do you see?
Obi-Wan is obviously taken aback – both by question and by Cody’s actions. As they haven’t been that intimate. Taking time, not hurrying into naked business. So Obi-Wan hasn’t seen him shirtless… in romantic context, let’s say.
Cody likes the way his General’s… former General’s gaze wanders over him – quickly, not wanting to be intrusive. But clearly interested. But the doubt – unreasonable, as he tries to convince himself – rots all the joy.
 – I see you. Why do you ask?
 – Don’t you think about… Jango Fett?
Obi-Wan looks offended.
 – I’m his clone, I look the same, and you’d met him long before you met me, - Cody prods with some masochistic insistence. – You’ve told me I’m different in the Force. But our outwards are identical.
Obi-Wan sighs and takes his hand gently.
 - Will you believe me if I say I haven’t thought about him in what – three years? I never ever seen not a tiniest bit of Jango Fett in any of you. The Force signature, shall I say, impacts how we, the Force-sensitives, especially the trained ones, perceive the world…
 – But do you find me… handsome? – Cody interrupts him – he knows what Obi-Wan’s is trying to tell him. He’s heard it before – “You feel steady and warm, like a sun”. He never expected sex issues to be so complicated, he thinks to himself.
 – I do, - Obi-Wan sounds as if he’s saying a vow. – Cody, I have no intention to be insensitive, but do you presume that when I’m with you, I imagine… Rex instead of you? Or Waxer? Or literally any of your brothers?
The idea is the most moronic ever, despite Obi-Wan’s serious voice. Cody even laughs:
 – Course, not! – he catches the idea his Jedi is conveying and lets the other boulder fall. He smiles warmly, feeling easy: - I hate being beaten by my own logic.
 – I know it may be hard for you, darling, - Obi-Wan starts and then smiles back. Cody knows he feels the change in his emotions, because the concern on his face fades away. For now, at least. – Well, Cody…
 – Yes? – Cody is alert, as per usual. Obi-Wan blushes and ducks his head a little bit – Cody finds it adorable. – What is it, sir? – he teases, flashing a flirty smile. He already suspects what he’ll be asked about, and it feels gloriously absolutely opposite to what happened this day.
 – Would you allow me to touch you? – Obi-Wan doesn’t look confident – obviously remembers Cody’s not nice experience too. – Of course, the fact you took off your shirt doesn’t oblige you to agree, and it was rude of me to assume you’d enjoy hearing that, especially after today’s unfortunate experience…
 – I want it, - Cody doesn’t intent for Obi-Wan to feel as if he did something wrong. Because he didn’t.
Obi-Wan slowly stretches his hand and lays it on Cody’s chest. The touch is gentle and warm, very careful. His heart is fluttering, and there’s a funny feeling in the stomach – intensified by the intimacy of the situation.
Cody cannot take his eyes off Obi-Wan’s face, mesmerized by love written all over it.
 – You’re beautiful, - the hand slowly slides lower, on his belly, tracing tense muscles. – Dear, you are beautiful, - finger pads move up, circling chest muscles, brushing the nipple – the latter causes a tremor of pleasant vulnerability in Cody. The hand travels over his shoulder, mapping every inch of skin.
Cody presses his hand to Obi-Wan’s cheek – the beard scratches, but he likes it. Then he lowers it and touches the hem of his Jedi’s shirt, looking questioningly into his eyes. He’s not sure if he oversteps the boundaries – maybe, Obi-Wan is not ready to go this far as Cody is.
 – How can anyone say no to these puppy eyes? – Obi-Wan laughs quietly. – Not that I ever wanted, - he raises his arms, allowing Cody to take the shirt off and throw it away to his own.
Cody wants to have a look, but he only catches fair skin before Obi-Wan throws his arms around Cody’s neck, presses himself into him and plants a long and really nice kiss on lips. Cody isn’t stupid to complain about it – especially when he hugs him back, feels warmth and lean muscles under his palms, heat of chest and stomach against his own. And he moves closer, exploring Obi-Wan’s back, taking in all scars – his heart squeezes with ‘there could have been no scars, if not this karking war’. He interrupts the kiss only to press his lips to the shoulder sprayed with faint freckles. He feels like he’ll explode of tenderness. Feels Obi-Wan caressing his shoulder blades and neck, kissing his temple.
 – It’s all right, darling, it’s all right, - the Jedi murmurs into his ear, practically cradling him. Cody doesn’t like the somber in his voice, so he uses his weight to tackle Obi-Wan down into the loveseat. Hears delighted chuckle into his ear and grins, shifting himself to look into his eyes. Then leans for a kiss, and the initiative is met with vigour.

The longing never bared aches to be revealed
Fandom: Criminal Minds
Characters: Derek/Spencer
Summary: Spencer tries to explain to Derek why he likes tickling.
A/N: Look at me resurrecting my ‘verse! I guess you can read this independently, but it does reference this fic and takes place in that universe. I hope you enjoy!
Words: 1.5k
(Read it on ao3)
Sometimes, when they’d both fallen quiet, or if they’d steered their conversation toward an especially vulnerable topic, Derek would notice Spencer’s reluctance to meet his eyes. It was cute to see him become so shy. Not discomfort or even awkwardness, but simply shyness, something Spencer rarely displayed before, well, everything. The case had forced out embarrassment, and while Derek enjoyed seeing the way his blush spread out across his face, it was different when he was just feeling shy as opposed to being embarrassed. Embarrassment came without consent. The case, the capture, the inevitable discussions about tickling and what it meant to him: that had embarrassed him.
But now? The pinkening of his cheeks and the avoidance of eye contact only spoke of timidness, and Derek was in love with it. The shyness that came because he allowed himself to be put in a vulnerable position and trusting Derek enough to not take advantage of it in the wrong way.
“Look at me.” He placed his fingertips on Spencer’s chin, tapping it gently to get him to look up. He knew it tickled him. He knew he would jerk away with a panicked giggle each time, and yet Spencer never asked him to stop doing it. Derek had briefly wondered if he avoided his gaze just for him to do it, but while the notion was incredibly endearing he had a feeling it wasn’t the only reason.
“I’m looking,” Spencer said now, having of course let out that laugh Derek had been waiting for.
“Hi.”
“Hi.”
“You’re pretty.”
“Hmm.”
“Don’t believe me?”
“You say it a lot.”
“Because it’s always true.”
Spencer looked away again, eyes downcast, a smile finding his lips that made Derek’s heart skip a beat.
“Hey.” Another tap to his chin, relishing in how Spencer scrunched up his shoulders instinctively. “Don’t get shy on me now. Look at me.”
“Stop teasing me.”
“Oh, I would never.”
It was a Tuesday. They should be asleep, technically, but the hotel room was anything but soundproof and they could hear everything from cars outside to people walking down the hallway. It was the only reason Derek hadn’t tickled Spencer more properly, afraid to alert the whole world. Minnesota was cold this time of year, but the room was warm. Some might call it cozy. Spencer had called it crowded.
“I could ask for a separate room,” Derek had instantly offered, knowing how he was with space sometimes, but Spencer had grabbed him and refused to let him go until Derek promised to never make a threat like that again. Derek had laughed, maybe slightly hysterically, still unused to Spencer verbalizing (if that even counted as verbalizing) his feelings for him. “So you do like me,” he’d said, and that was when Spencer had gotten shy, a ridiculous yet adorable reaction.
“It’s late,” Spencer said now, maybe changing the topic, maybe simply making an observation.
“It is.”
“We should sleep.”
“Should we?” Derek grabbed his shirt, pulling him closer. “There’s nothing else you’d rather do right now?”
Spencer tilted his head. “Well, I would like to look at the case file one more time.”
Derek curled his fingers over his belly, making him double over with a yelp. “You’re impossible.”
“Oh, did you have other ideas?” he asked innocently, blinking up at him.
“As a matter of fact, I think I just wanna sleep now.”
“Okay, well, I can read while you do that.”
“Uh, no.” Derek suddenly picked him up bridal style, crossing the room while Spencer protested. “You’re stuck with me, I’m afraid.”
Spencer laughed as Derek threw him onto the bed. “Oh, whatever shall I do.”
“You’re so lucky these walls are paper thin and people would think I’m murdering you if I tickled you.” Derek smirked. “Or maybe you’re unlucky.”
Spencer huffed and looked away, a blush finding his cheeks. “Shut up.”
“Mmm, no. I quite like it when you get shy.”
Spencer didn’t reply, if him groaning counted as a no-reply that was.
Derek grabbed his pant legs, janking at them lightly. “Want help undressing?”
“No.” Spencer suddenly grinned up at him, something bold replacing his timidness. “I forgot to bring pajamas.”
“Oh, and what shall we do about that?”
“I guess you’ll have to cuddle me all night to keep me warm.”
“Uh huh.”
“You know, it only seems right. You probably distracted me so that I forgot them.”
“Always so quick to blame me.” Derek climbed over him, poking at his ribs a couple of times in accusation. “But you’re probably right.”
“I usually am.”
“Don’t get cocky now, pretty boy.”
Spencer flushed again, although this time he seemed perfectly fine with it.
They sat up, not yet getting ready for bed. Derek felt like he wasn’t ready for the day to end yet, and so they sat on the bed, both of them leaning against the headboard without speaking.
“Maybe this isn’t the right place to ask this,” Derek started when the silence had stretched out enough that it had filled the entire room. “But. Well. You once said you’d explain it to me.”
Spencer didn’t seem to have to ask what he meant. “I did.”
“You don’t have to now, but- I’d still like to understand. I mean, I’ve done my own research of course, but it seems to be personal enough that it’s different for everyone in some way.”
“It is.”
Derek caught the moment Spencer’s shyness melted into embarrassment. It made him nearly want to drop the subject. “I’m sorry.”
Spencer looked at him. “You have nothing to be sorry for,” he said, reaching out to touch his knee, albeit briefly. “I’m sorry, I just wasn’t prepared for it to happen now.”
“I can wait,” Derek scrambled to say. “Whenever you’re ready.”
Spencer pursed his lips, eyes darting from Derek to their laps and back to Derek. “I think I’m ready now.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
“Take your time.”
Spencer took that literally, sitting in silence for over two minutes until Derek thought he’d changed his mind when he suddenly said: “How did it start?”
“Sorry?”
“I keep asking myself that, because I can’t really remember. Maybe it never really started but simply evolved from something that was always there. My mother was very affectionate with me before her illness took that from us. She then used other things to express her love. And as you might have noticed I’m not the most touchy person. So I ask myself, why this?”
Derek remained quiet as he spoke. He didn’t mention that he thought his avoidance of touch probably was a coping mechanism more than anything, but who was he to know all that was going on in that genius head of his.
“It’s not even necessarily that I’ve always wanted it for myself,” he continued, cheeks pinkening. “You’re one of the first who does it, but I guess I figured out that it went deeper than just flustered emotions during college.”
“Why college?”
“I, uh, had a friend do it quite often.” Derek decided it wasn’t the time to get jealous of said ‘friend’. “That’s when I looked it up for the first time, although the internet wasn’t the best back then. I found lots of uncomfortable things, but I also learnt a lot. It’s not inherently sexual for me, but- it makes me feel things I can’t explain.”
“You like it.”
It was an unnecessary clarification from Derek’s part, but Spencer nodded nearly eagerly. “I do. And for a long time I didn’t know what to do with that.”
“I get that.”
“Fortunately it wasn’t the case that brought it back up, but I’d slowly been exploring it. Not physically,” he added, flushing to his roots. “But, just, in my mind I guess.”
“Well, I’m glad for that at least.” Derek stroked Spencer’s knuckles with his thumb. “What is it about it that you like? The sensation?”
“Partly. It’s very unbearable, don’t get me wrong, but I like that it’s such a playful thing that it turns into a chase. It’s fun.”
“That’s cute.”
“Shut up.”
“Sorry. Please keep going.”
“I like that there’s trust in it. That it’s vulnerable.”
“I like seeing you flustered while still trusting me.”
“You see? You do get it.”
“I guess I do.” Derek grinned and Spencer looked away. “Hey, don’t shut me out now.” He spidered his fingers up Spencer’s thigh, laughing when his leg jerked away. “God, I would tickle you to pieces if we were at home.”
“Soon,” Spencer said without protesting. “We have to catch the UnSub first.”
“Stupid UnSub tickle blocking us.”
Spencer let out a laugh and finally looked back at him. “He really is stupid, huh.”
“Very.”
“So you agree I should look at the case file one more time before bed?”
“Pretty boy, I will lie on you if you mention the case file one more time.”
Spencer pouted and Derek kissed him, fingers trailing over the nape of his neck until Spencer had to pull away from the touch as he got too close to his ear. Fuckin’ adorable.

Warning: body discomfort and talk of unhealthy eating habits
As Micha stepped out of the school gate, she spotted Hyein waiting by the bus stop, her face lighting up the moment their eyes met. It had been nearly one year and eight months since Micha became a trainee, and meeting Hyein after school had become a comforting routine for them. On days without intense training, the two youngest girls in their group always made time to hang out and enjoy their free time together.
Micha jogged over, pulling Hyein into a quick hug. “I’m so ready for a break,” she sighed. “Classes felt like they’d never end today.”
Hyein laughed. “I know, right? Feels like the school is trying to bury us alive in homework.” She grinned mischievously. “But we’ve got free time now! Should we head to the café or grab snacks and chill at the park?”
Micha thought for a moment. “Let’s go to the café. I need something sweet after all that mental exhaustion.” She adjusted her school bag on her shoulder and the two girls started walking down the familiar route.
They fell in their usual chatter as they headed towards their destination. Hyein animatedly recounted a story about her day, describing how her teacher caught a classmate dozing off in the middle of a lecture. Micha laughed, enjoying the light-hearted conversation. She didn’t notice Mina standing by the school gate, watching her with clenched fists, her gaze following Micha as she disappeared down the street with Hyein.
She really doesn't care about me...
After a fun afternoon of hanging out at the mall, Micha and Hyein made their way to a newly opened café that had been the talk of all the SNS lately. The café was trendy, with sleek, minimalist decor and a cozy atmosphere that immediately made them feel relaxed.
“This place is so cute!” Hyein exclaimed as they walked in, scanning the menu. “I heard they make the best croissants.”
Micha smiled, adjusting the strap of her bag. “I think I'll just order strawberry smoothie I don't feel that hungry. It’s been a while since we just hung out like this.”
They ordered their drinks and hyein her pastry, finding a quiet spot near the window where they could watch the city bustle outside. The warm light filtered through, making the café feel even more welcoming.
After grabbing their drinks and settling down at the café, Hyein leaned forward with a gleam in her eye, clearly excited to spill the latest gossip.
“Micha, you won’t believe what I heard,” she began, taking a sip of her drink. “Byeol is leaving to join SM Entertainment.”
Micha’s eyebrows shot up. “Wait, what? Byeol’s leaving?”
I didn't see that coming, byeol is considered one of the top trainees to leave just like that is mind blowing.
Hyein nodded, looking serious. “Yeah, apparently SM scouted her, and she decided to go for it. Can you imagine? She was really good too, but I guess the pull of a big company was too strong.”
Scratch what I said before, she can totally leave, after all she always compared her singing style to those of sm artist, she totally manifested this.
Micha thought about it for a moment, stirring her drink absentmindedly. “SM is a huge deal, but I don’t know if I’d be able to leave after everything we’ve been through here. I mean, don’t you feel like our company feels more like a family sometimes?”
Hyein shrugged. “True, but if a huge company like SM came knocking on your door, wouldn’t you be tempted even a little? They have resources, opportunities… Maybe it’s easier to make it big there.”
Micha chewed on her lip, thinking. “I guess, but… I don’t know. I’ve already built so many connections here. Plus, the girls we’ve been training with… It would feel weird to just walk away.”
I mean if you asked twelve year old me this question, she would probably run to meet girls generation. But not this one here.
Hyein nodded in agreement. “Same here. It would be tempting, but leaving everything behind? Not sure I could do it. But Byeol, she probably felt it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance.”
The conversation hung in the air for a moment before Hyein's face lit up again, ready to share something even juicier.
“Okay, speaking of shocking news, there’s this other story I have to tell you,” she leaned in even closer. “Apparently, one of the trainees—Jiwoo—confessed her love to one of the dance instructors.”
Micha nearly choked on her drink, eyes wide. “No way! She confessed? To a dance instructor?”
Hyein nodded, barely able to contain her laughter. “Yep! Not only that, but she also followed him home after practice. Can you believe that? The other trainees were saying she even waited outside his apartment for him.”
Micha covered her mouth in disbelief, trying not to burst into laughter. “Oh my gosh, that’s so intense! What happened to her?”
“Well,” Hyein continued, “when the staff found out, she got in a lot of trouble. She wasn’t kicked out, but she got a formal warning and had to apologize to everyone. And I mean, everyone. The other trainees, the staff, the dance instructor himself—it was so awkward. And now, she’s kind of ostracized because, you know, who does that?”
I will probably burry myself alive if I were in her place, but who I'm to judge.
Micha shook her head, still giggling. “That’s insane. Isn't she 16 and he is 37”
Hyein sighed, sipping her drink again. “Yeah, it’s wild."
"Anyway, speaking of big news, I’ve got something too.” Micha leaned across the table.
Hyein grinned. “Oh? What’s up?”
“So…” Micha began, hesitating for a moment before deciding to share. “'l think I will enter Sopa with you"
Hyein blinked, surprised. “Really? You got into Seoul Performance Art with me?”
Micha nodded with a small, proud smile. “Yeah, I talked to my parents about it, and they agreed. I mean, it’s one of the best schools for who interested in arts”
Micha hesitated for a moment, looking down as she added“I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately, actually. My school right now… I’ve met some good people, but I feel kinda lonely sometimes, you know?”
Hyein tilted her head, surprised. “Lonely? Really?”
Micha nodded. “Yeah, it’s like… they don’t really get what it’s like to be a trainee. They don’t understand the pressure or why I’m always missing events or why I have to skip studying sometimes to go to practice. It’s hard to explain, and I just feel like I’m on a different path than them. I think even when I explains to them why I can't attend that and this they would just nod along and act like they understand but deep down I know they think it's just an excuse for me. Even the teachers think this.”
Hyein thought about it for a moment before nodding. “That makes sense. It must be hard to be in that environment when you’re so focused on becoming an idol. That's why you've been asking me about it a lot?”
Micha smiled slightly. “Yeah, actually. When you first mentioned Seoul Performing Arts, it stuck with me. It seems like the kind of place where I’d fit in better, you know? I wouldn’t have to explain myself as much. That what I said to my parents.”
“That would be so amazing!” Hyein said, her face lighting up. “We would go to the same school, train together, and study together. It’d be like we’d never leave each other’s side.”
Micha laughed at Hyein’s excitement, but deep down, the idea of transferring to Seoul Performing Arts High School felt like the right move. She loved her friends at her current school, but the loneliness of being the only one pursuing a dream like hers had been weighing on her for a while. Being surrounded by people who understood her world—a world of music, dancing, and performing—seemed like it would lift a weight off her shoulders.
“Do you really think my parents would say yes?” Micha asked, the idea starting to seem more real in her mind.
Hyein nodded enthusiastically. “I don’t see why not! Imagine all the fun we’d have. And it’s not just about fun—being surrounded by other trainees and artists would push us to work even harder. We’d be in an environment where everyone has the same goals.”
Micha felt a sense of relief wash over her. Just talking about it with Hyein made her feel like it was possible, like there was a place where she could belong, both as a trainee and as a student.
Also, I would at least get away from Mr. Kim judging glare whenever I doze off in his class. He acts like I'm not his top student in his class.
“I’m going to push for it,” Micha said with a determined smile. “I’m going to convince my parents that it’s the right move.”
Hyein grinned and nudged her playfully. “Well, if you end up going and I know that you will, we’re going to make that school our kingdom.”
Micha giggled at Hyein’s playful comment, but deep down, she felt a renewed sense of purpose. Going to a school like Seoul Performing Arts could be the fresh start she needed—a place where she wouldn’t feel so isolated, where she could thrive alongside people who shared her dreams.
As the two got up to go back to the dorm, they chatted about how things might change if they both ended up at the same school, and Hyein teased Micha about how they’d probably dominate every class and practice session.
“I’m serious, Micha. We’d be unstoppable,” Hyein said with a wink.
“Yeah, as long as we don’t get too competitive,” Micha replied, grinning.
Their conversation eventually drifted to other topics, but in the back of Micha’s mind, the idea of transferring to Seoul Performing Arts High School stuck with her.
At least, I won't need Kang in this one to convince my parents with.
As Micha followed Hyein into the dorm, something felt off. It was way too quiet. Normally, the girls would be buzzing about, chatting or laughing. But today, there was an eerie calmness in the air.
Just as Micha was about to ask what was going on, the lights flickered on, and a chorus of voices filled the room.
“Surprise! Happy Birthday, Micha!”
Micha’s eyes widened as she took in the scene. The dorm was decorated with streamers and balloons, and there, right in the center of the room, was a table full of food, drinks, and a beautifully decorated cake. The girls were all gathered around, grinning from ear to ear, singing her a happy birthday with all the enthusiasm in the world.
She blinked, momentarily speechless, as the weight of the surprise hit her. This would be her first birthday celebration with the girls. Last year, she hadn’t told anyone it was her birthday, too shy to bring it up, and they’d only found out after the fact that both her parents, Kang and her grandparents wished her a happy birthday with on the phone with gifts waiting for in front of their dorm room. Micha could still remember how guilty they’d looked, sad that they hadn’t been able to celebrate with her. But this year, they had more than made up for it.
Minji came over, wrapping an arm around Micha’s shoulders. “Surprised? The food was made by the ahjumma next door. She was more than happy to help.so you won't worry about getting food poisoning”
In the background you can hear Danielle screaming "hey, that was only a one time Incedent" acting offended.
Micha laughed, her heart warming at the thought of the older woman helping to prepare everything. “I can’t believe you all did this for me…”
“Of course we did!” Danielle piped up, beaming. “We missed last year, so we had to make this one extra special.”
Haerin, walked over with a plate full of food, ready to serve Micha her first portion. But when she held the plate out to Micha, she hesitated.
“Just a little,” Micha said softly, her voice tinged with nerves.
Danielle raised an eyebrow, noticing the small request. “You sure, Micha? Why aren’t you hungry? You’ve been at school all day.”
Micha shifted uncomfortably, forcing a smile. “I’m full. Just not feeling like eating much today, I eat a lot during lunch break at school.”
The girls exchanged glances, sensing something was off, but they didn’t press. Micha tried to push the thought aside and focus on the celebration, but her mind couldn’t stop drifting back to two days prior.
The hallways had been quiet, only a few people walking by after practice. Micha had just finished her vocal lessons when she heard them— trainees leaning against the wall, clearly thinking no one else could hear them.
"Did you see that idol's weight gain? I don't understand how she’s still getting booked," one of them had whispered, her tone dripping with judgment.
"Did you see it too? I can't believe she's gaining weight like that," the other whispered.
"Right? And that trainee who keeps eating during practice breaks? She’s gaining weight like crazy," the other had replied, laughing softly as if it were some inside joke.
The other nodded, laughing cruelly. "Yeah, and what about that one trainee? The one who's always stuffing her face during lunch? She’s gained so much weight. If she was in any other company, she'd be cut off immediately."
Micha's heart sank as she heard them continue.
"Right? I mean, even if our company’s more relaxed on this topics and they all about body positivity and staying healthy or whatever, but there’s no way she’ll debut with thighs like hers."
Micha had frozen in place, her feet suddenly feeling like they were stuck to the floor.
"If she were anywhere else, she would have been cut by now," the first one continued.
Even though the words weren't directed at her, they stung. In this industry, every little thing was noticed and criticized, especially appearance. Micha knew that, and the pressure to always look a certain way had been weighing on her for a while.
She had thought she was doing well—balancing training, school, and her diet. But hearing that conversation made her question everything. Were people talking about her behind her back too? Was she seen the same way? Looking at her reflection on the door glass.
I mean I don't look chubby right, I have a bit of round cheeks, and a bit of tummy and thighs fat, but it will go away right?. Haerin told me it's baby fat which means it will go away eventually right?.
Her focus snapped back to the present as the girls laughed, their cheerful energy filling the room. She forced a smile and tried to engage, but the conversation still haunted her, lingering like a shadow in the back of her mind.
Micha tried to shake the memory away, but it stuck to her like glue. She could still hear the cruel words echoing in her head. Her own insecurities started to bubble up, making her feel self-conscious.
Haerin placed the plate down gently in front of Micha. “Are you sure you’re okay? You can have more later if you’re still full.”
Micha nodded quickly, not trusting herself to speak without her voice betraying her.
The rest of the girls started chatting and laughing again, creating a warm, lively atmosphere. But Micha found herself retreating into her thoughts, replaying that conversation she’d overheard. She knew it wasn’t directed at her specifically, but it had hit too close to home. In a world where appearances were scrutinized so harshly, it was hard not to take those words personally.
Danielle, always one to sense when something was wrong, slid over next to Micha, gently nudging her. “Hey, you sure you’re good? You know you can talk to us about anything, right?”
Micha smiled at her friend, appreciating the concern. “Yeah, I know. I’m fine, really.”
But deep down, she wasn’t sure how to explain the tangled mess of emotions swirling inside her.
The night carried on with more laughter and teasing. The girls shared funny stories, trying to lift Micha’s spirits. Even though her mind kept drifting back to those insecurities, she couldn’t help but feel grateful for the friends who had become like her family.
At one point, Minji jokingly brought out a small party hat, placing it crookedly on Micha’s head. “Now, birthday girl, make a wish!”
Micha laughed, closing her eyes and pretending to think deeply. For a moment, she let herself forget about everything—the gossip, the insecurities, the pressure. Surrounded by her friends, Micha blew out the candles, wishing for the strength to keep going, to keep fighting for her dream.
Danielle and Haerin had been first to finish eating and were already pulling out gifts for Micha, making the room buzz with excitement. Minji, was the first to hand over a beautifully wrapped box with a big grin on her face.
"Happy birthday, Micha! Open this one first!" Minji said, her eyes twinkling.
Micha hesitated for a moment before unwrapping the gift, revealing a gorgeous pair of earrings—delicate silver hoops with tiny stars dangling from them.
"Unnie... these are beautiful," Micha said, touched by the thoughtfulness.
"They’re perfect for you," Minji replied, looking pleased. "I figured you could wear them for a special occasion."
Next was Haerin, who presented her with a soft, oversized hoodie in her favorite shade of lavender. "You always say the dorm gets too cold," Haerin said softly. "So I thought this might help."
Micha smiled, hugging the hoodie to her chest. "Thank you, unnie. It's perfect."
As more gifts were handed over, the room became filled with laughter and joy. Danielle gave her a custom photo album, already partially filled with photos from their time together as trainees. "I figured we could add more memories as we go," Danielle said, her smile bright.
Hyein shyly walked over to Micha with a small, neatly wrapped box. "I thought really hard about what to get you," Hyein said with a warm smile, handing over her gift. "I know it's not much, but I hope you like it."
Micha carefully unwrapped the box, revealing a delicate silver bracelet with a small charm shaped like a moon. Micha’s eyes softened as she ran her fingers over the charm.
"Hyein, this is so pretty," she said, giving her a warm hug. "I love it."
Then came Hanni, looking extra pleased with herself as she handed Micha her gift. It was BTS wings album that was released 2 days before her birthday, carefully wrapped in tissue paper. Micha’s heart stopped when she saw the familiar logo on the cover. But that wasn’t all. Inside was a handwritten note, along with Yoongi’s autograph.
Micha blinked, her mind reeling. "Hanni, how did you...?"
Hanni grinned mischievously. "I still have connections, you know? I ran into BTS a few times. I may have asked Yoongi oppa for his autograph, knowing you had a tiny crush on him."
The room exploded into giggles. Micha’s face turned beet red, and she instinctively tried to hide behind the hoodie Haerin had given her.
Minji raised an eyebrow teasingly. "A tiny crush? You mean the massive crush she’s had on Yoongi sunbaenim for years!"
Danielle laughed. "Look at her, she’s so red!"
Micha buried her face in the hoodie, trying to hide her embarrassment, but the teasing only grew louder.
"Aww, come on, Micha," Haerin said, nudging her lightly. "You’re not even going to say anything to thank Hanni for her incredible gift?"
Micha, still flustered, lifted her head and managed to mumble, "Thank you, unnie. I really appreciate it."
Hanni smirked, looking far too pleased with herself. "You’re welcome! Oh, and by the way, Yoongi oppa said you’re welcome too. He hopes you like the album."
" oh! There is a note Inside the album" Hyein said.
Micha immediately snatched it and gingerly unfolded the note, her hands trembling slightly. It was handwritten by none other than Suga himself. The handwriting was neat and simple, but the words held a lot of meaning for her.
"Happy 15th birthday, Micha. I hear you’re working really hard—keep at it. You’ve got a long way to go, but remember to enjoy the journey. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Take breaks when you need them. Wishing you the best of luck in everything. Hope to see you on stage someday.
Suga"
Micha's face flushed as she reread the words, her heart racing. The fact that her bias, Yoongi sunbaenim, had taken the time to write her a personal message felt surreal. The teasing from her friends only intensified, but deep down, Micha was overwhelmed with happiness.
" your face is SO red right now!" Hyein pointed out, giggling along with the others.
Danielle leaned in. "What did Yoongi sanbaenim write? Are you going to read it out loud or keep it to yourself?"
Micha quickly folded the note back up, hiding it with a sheepish smile. "No way! It’s too embarrassing!" she said, trying to avoid any more teasing.
"You’re going to cherish that forever, aren’t you?" Minji asked, nudging Micha playfully.
Micha nodded, unable to keep the smile off her face. "Of course I am."
The room erupted in laughter and despite her embarrassment, she felt deeply content. This was her first birthday with the girls, and even though she hadn't told them about it the previous year, they made this one unforgettable.
The teasing continued as the girls laughed, and Micha, though embarrassed, couldn’t help but feel a warmth spreading through her chest. Despite the earlier gossip weighing on her mind, moments like this reminded her that she had people who cared about her and wanted to lift her up.
The night carried on, filled with more fun, teasing, and laughter. As Micha glanced around the room, she realized just how lucky she was to have these girls by her side.
But if you looked at Micha's plate you will notice that she left it as it is till it turned cold...

been watching blues clues for The Nostalgia but also because i work in special education and i feel like it's a really good inspiration for like... good, positive, constructive interactions with kids. i feel like im learning from it in a completely different way now
here are some of my thoughts on why blues clues is good and why i think its better/more effective than a lot of other kids shows
steve's absolute genuine love comes through so strong. he's silly, but he's never over-acting in that weird hyper exaggerated style you see so often in kids shows. he's not a "MY SISTER DID WWWHHHAAAAAAT???!?!?!? (REAL) (NOT CLICKBAIT) (GONE WRONG)" youtube guy. he's just a sweet funny guy who likes kids. there's a reason all of us who grew up with him felt like he was family to us
on that note too, everything in blues clues is so.... calm. it's quiet, but not eerily quiet. it's colorful, but not obnoxiously eye-searing bright. everything is soft. everything is gentle. i feel totally relaxed and safe just from watching the opening. kids media is so often just an overwhelming sensory overload of explosive color and sound and grating voices but blues clues is so chill. and yet, somehow, also not boring. kids media doesn't have to be extreme chaos to appeal to children and it makes a lot of sense to me that a lot of the autistic kids i work with love blues clues
the "talking to the audience" is handled so well, and as a certified hater of "do YOU see the RED BARN?????? ..................................................................THERE it is!!!!!" styles of talking to children (no offense to anyone who enjoys dora but yes I am talking about dora) i feel like somehow steve pulls it off very well. i think it's partly the fact that he does not over-exaggerate and he does not talk down to the kids watching. when he asks "can you help me?" he's asking like he really cares about your input, wants to hear your ideas, and values your opinion, not like he's praising a dog
the addition of the "audience" kid voices responding to him helps so much with those weird awkward pauses too while "you" respond, but again not a loud busy sitcom audience - it gives the feeling of sitting in a playroom with a couple other kids. it's less "going to see an interactive play" and more "steve's having some friends over." it's cozy. it's friendly. i like it
ive also been noticing that frequently when steve asks the audience for help, it's not "do YOU see the RED BARN" with a giant red barn directly in front of his face, it's things like this
Tumblr media
the clue is visible to us, but steve can't see it from where he is, so it makes sense that he needs our help to find it
when he's trying to figure out the answer to a question, he gives the kids a chance to solve it/to Help Him by like, giving silly solutions - so it's more "steve is being silly" and less "steve is an idiot who doesn't know anything." it's a game, he's playing with us, he's making us laugh and encouraging us to show him what we know, rather than being frustratingly incompetent and waiting silently motionless for us to tell him the obvious answer
i watched a joe episode to see how his era felt- all i remember was i didn't like him as much specifically just because he wasn't steve. even as a child i respected what i believed was steve's decision to go to college, but it just felt too different. looking at it now as an adult understanding the real steve's reasons and giving it an open mind, i think joe also does all these things very well. he's a little... i guess he feels "brighter" (personality-wise) while steve feels more "calm/relaxed" but joe also seems genuine, and isn't doing the over-exaggerated character to the point of Obnoxious either. i think the only reason i was so hard on him was because he wasn't steve. nobody can be steve. joe does a good job being joe
also noticed he's left handed which always makes me a little bit happy inside. lefty solidarity. and i caught a couple times he used sign language signs in his songs (i noticed it because "thank you" is one some of our students use so I recognized it, i don't know very many signs so I don't know how often this was present and I didn't notice) which is cool
but then there was this one segment about colors i remembered from when i was a kid where, i thought, steve was telling us about colors, and it was where i learned about the color "chartreuse" which i then remembered for the rest of my life. i loved it because i at this age already knew my colors, i knew red and blue make purple, but this showed me next level color combinations. we all know yellow and blue make green, but yellow and green makes chartreuse? I had no idea it had a name other than "yellow-green."
but it turns out it wasn't steve
Tumblr media
it was joe. joe taught me chartreuse and i remembered it forever. ive won trivia questions because of this before. thank you joe. respect
then i watched one of the new blues clues & you episodes (with current host josh) and it looks like there's a lot more signing mixed in - not stopping to Teach the signs, but just using them for key words occasionally, which is a really cool way to kind of incidentally teach kids some signs
blues clues & you... is very disorienting for me because it's So different to look at, there's a lot more characters on the screen at one time so there's just. a lot of movement happening, but it doesn't feel Chaotic either, it just feels like that original super chill cozy vibe is kind of lost now. i don't like the 3D animated puppies. they don't look Terrible, i just don't like it, personally.
Tumblr media
none of the other characters are 3D, it's only blue and magenta, which makes them feel... out of place, somehow? they're animated in a completely different style than anything else in the room and it feels like they're not supposed to be there. maybe the intention was to have blue and josh stand out from the background but it feels really weird
i don't like how the songs are done. josh's energy doesn't feel quite right to me and i can't figure out why? i think it's like one level higher than the others or something, it's not quite the Over-Exaggerated Chaos level but it's a little less relaxed
i like how they talk about like... states of feeling, though, shovel comes out of the pool and says they feel cold and wet, so josh gives them a towel to feel better. tickety tock feels too hot, so josh gives her a hat to feel better. this is a concept we work on a lot at my school, learning to recognize how you feel and what you can do to help regulate it
Tumblr media
plus that gives us this blessed image of tickety tock in a little sun hat. my life has been improved by this
ultimately i think maybe it's just that it's too different for me, i can't place anything specifically "wrong" other than "it's different and I don't like it." anyway anyone want to talk about blues clues

Mid-Year Book Freakout 2023
I was tagged by @logarithmicpanda Thank you :D I love tags.
1. Best book you’ve read so far this year
Shadows Return by Lynn Flewelling. If series don’t count then As Meat Loves Salt by Maria McCann. Both really messed up books haha what a year. I also read the complete Maus this year, which also deserves a mention.
2. Best sequel you’ve read so far this year
Shadows Return is the fourth book in the Nightrunner series so... that.
3. New release you haven’t read yet
In the Lives of Puppets by T.J. Klune and The Whispering Muse by Laura Purcell.
4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year
The Water Outlaws by S.L. Huang sounds so good and I want to love it so bad! I hope it’s good. Please, I need it to be good.
Then: Family Lore by Elizabeth Acevedo; The Fragile Threads of Power by V.E. Schwab; Mammoths at the Gates by Nghi Vo and Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree.
5. Biggest disappointment
The White Road by Lynn Flewelling, 5th Nightrunner book, and it pains me to say this. Live footage of me at this book:
Tumblr media
6. Biggest surprise
The Nightrunner series in general (?) I mean I am reading them all this year for a reason haha (currently on the last book in the series but I still have the prequel trilogy to read after). I cannot believe I tried Luck in the Shadows some years ago and gave up on it. To be fair, I didn’t get far into it and the start is meandering and has a lot of info dumps. Got into it when I finished chapter 8 and the second book was really great and emotional. It gave me that bi representation I wanted without it being the sole focus of the fantasy story. That was just all I’ve been asking for. Fantasy with casual queerness that doesn’t take over the plot.
7. Favorite new author (debut or new to you)
I guess Lynn Flewelling, but I wouldn’t call her a favourite author. For starters I only read one book series by her yet. Still, the authors I put on my favourites usually have a more beautiful writing style. Not sure if I will put her in my favourites when I finish it all, but I guess she is the best I read this year because Nightrunner has been bringing me so much joy (and anger at times too).
8. Newest fictional crush/newest favorite character
Favourite character: Alec í Amasa. But also Seregil, Thero and Ilar. All from the Nightrunner series, of course. It almost looks like I have only been reading these books haha and that isn’t entirely wrong... it’s like 40% of what I read so far was Nightrunner books.
9. Book that made you cry
Don’t hate me, but... Stalking Darkness, 2nd book in the Nightrunner series. It was just nice to see a bi awakening on page done so well or at least done in a sort of relatable way to me and then there is the suicidal thoughts and the second half of the book was quite impactful.
As Meat Loves Salt also made me tear up at the end but it was tears of anger so... not sure if it counts.
10. Book that made you happy
Just assume I’m gonna say Nightrunner books again. If we take those away and put them in the corner then Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree. It is a really cozy and sweet book, but also fun.
Tagging: @whatevsbla @monpetitrenard @xserpx @beeblackburn (only if you want to do it)

There’s a kung fu panda AU with the shroud bros as stars? SIGN ME UP! WHERE IS IT! >:D
On a discord server, buried with the rest of the Au iceberg that I have.
Kung-fu panda was like... One of my favorite childhood movie series. Like I never got to see the 2nd movie, but I saw the first and on TV there was the legends of awesomeness show, which was, luckily, after school. When I tell you me and my siblings LOVED that shit... Like we were hooked on it.
Unfortunately, the only merch I do have is a Po plush that was part of a campaign at the mall shop. It's chonky and a good pillow tbh
A bit of a fair warning: it is LONG af.
Now y'all know where we are going, so I believe I need no introduction on this:
We have a pretty comune setting to the og movie. Except that in here, in the village, the restaurant is owned by Mrs Ashengrotto, a widow, with her son, Azul as the sole heir and one hard-working lad. He was engaged to Idia, as an arrangement in between them, arrangement which both families were more than excited about. (I mean... One is a great cook with a successful restaurant and one is a blacksmith who can fix anything he comes across)
The Shrouds on the other hand, were blacksmiths. Idia was one mad lad, always up to try and invent something. Meanwhile, his little brother, Ortho, was more of a happy-go-lucky kid, just like the other kids, absolutely thrilled over the furious 5 and their epic adventures in protecting their lands. It didn't help that excitement when the temple they would train was right on the top of the mountain, under which their village was located.
In here, what made the furious 5 so great was the power to turn into different animals. Each one had a corresponding animal, whom represented their fighting style as well.
Idia didn't seem that hyped with all that bazzazz, but he did creak a smile when his little brother would excitedly speak about the new stories he heard from the other kids.
And as such, when the big ceremony of choosing a legendary warrior, everyone is excited and going to see the demonstrations of the furious 5.
Idia, of course, is late to the whole thing because he is helping his fiancé with the food. They didn't have to be late at all since Mrs Ashengrotto was counting on them.
But there were A. LOT. OF. STAIRS.
And we all know these 2's track record. :'3
So Idia comes up with a plan to use fireworks. Azul tells him that it's a horrible idea. Like sure, they have to be fast, but not actually blow up.
And ya know what? It does turns out to be a bad idea. Who would've guessed?!
The thing ends up with both Azul and Idia not only being fucking late to the introduction and the whole demonstrations, but they end up literally toppling down in the middle of the arena, right when the great old master Maleficia was choosing the next legendary warrior.
Of course, Idia opens his eyes to see a finger pointed straight at his nose and people just gasping. It was thought this was a mistake, Azul and Idia both were dying with embarrassment, but Maleficia insists that this was the legendary warrior. That Idia, this noodle arms mf who never touched grass in ages, was the chosen one.
Of course, this starts a whole controversy. Especially since Idia himself wanted nothing to do with this.
As such, Idia gets dragged to the temple, where he gets confronted by master Lilia, who was absolutely disappointed that out of the finest 5 warriors he could train, this stick guy that couldn't even defeat a mosquito, was chosen. There had to be an error. And Idia wholeheartedly agreed that it was an error. That he could never be a great warrior. He was just a blacksmith's son who wants to invent a few things and live cozily in his village without much care. Just a quiet cozy life, please and thank you. :'3
Of course, the furious 5(who now all were annoyed) discussed in between them. Kalim brings out that maybe Idia could bring something new, something they would need or haven't thought about. Leona is salty af, since out of the 5, he and Malleus were the best with 0 doubts. In between these 2 it was the true competition. Riddle brings it up how they maybe should've trained harder, but Vil interjects and says that there is no way, no matter how hard they tried. Malefica saw something on that lazyass guy and decided that he would be a warrior.
Their goal is to convince Idia to get his ass to train. Maybe then they would see what Maleficia saw in him.
Back to Idia, man just wanted to leave. Just say that it was a mistake and let him leave like this. But Maleficia was 100% set onto her choice, much to everyone's cargain.
So they put Idia to trial. It was the training room and Idia had to pass from one side to another. For at least an example, Kalim was demonstrating, since he was the most acrobatic from all of them.
Imagine Idia just losing his soul when he sees what stunts Kalim pulls. And he makes it look just so effortlessly that Idia is racking his brain to find out how much stamina does this guy even have.
Of course, Idia, like any sane mf who had no ounce of training, doesn't want to go.
Leona yeets him in there anyway.
And it's just the biggest flop of the year. Everyone looking was just absolutely dying on the inside as Idia was trying really hard to not actually die in there. Man bearly makes it through by sheer desperation.
To try and make him feel better, Vil introduces him to the training dummy, which is mostly a thing little kids could defeat too.
Idia fails at that as well.
Still, Lilia was absolutely racking his brain to see how he could help this case. It was very important that Idia would either train to be a good warrior or prove that he is so BAD, Maleficia will choose someone else by default. One of the 2 had to be fulfilled in the end.
Of course, Lilia tried everything. Absolutely everything. Nothing worked. Idia was simply not wanting to learn. He wanted only home and at this point he was actively trying to survive, not Excell at anything. Just leave the guy alone please. :'3
Malleus does express his worry, that mayhaps his grandma was too old. She was ready to pass away anytime now. Maybe the age got to her. Malleus really didn't want to lose or disrespect his grandma, but he had to face the reality at one point. Lilia gives him a point, but he retorts that Maleficia never let anything such as old age from keeping her mind calm and ordered. Malleus should leave his worries aside and try to accept the new. They all really try to.
Of course, one night, Idia is absolutely done and over with the bland ass food the rest were eating. Like he was used to Azul's great ass cooking, so naturally, Idia knew a few of the easy to do recipes. Some that won't take long to do.
Malleus catches whim of the smell and is absolutely sure that it wasn't by any means Lilia in that kitchen. Curious, he finds Idia there, with a bowl of something he did.
Of course, being one shamels and hungry Boi, Malleus reaches out to the said food, to just take a bite, but Idia slaps it away, saying that he did it for himself and himself only. He misses his home and is denied of going back until this fuckery is solved, at least let him have this.
Malleus, being still hungry, still wants some. He insists that he skipped lunch, much like Idia did, so he wants something to eat too. Idia tho, keeps to his compass that Malleus shall get none of the food made by him.
At this, Malleus gets petty too, saying that he could take it by force if he wanted, but right now he's playing nice. Idia takes it as a fucking challenge, so he takes some bowls and plays a game of guess the cup with Malleus. Of course, hi first 2 guesses out of the 3 were wrong. So Idia leaves the kitchen as Malleus is ready to enjoy his prize.
But under the 3rd bowl it was nothing.
See, Idia pulled a trick, by having a 4th bowl hidden underneath, swapping those and leaving with the 4th bowl while Malleus was way too distracted with the guessing game.
Of course, Malleus was fucking salty about this. Also so embarrassed that he didn't utter any word when Riddle, who was passing by, asked him why he was refusing to eat from a bowl something that clearly was meant for bowl. :'3
The next day, Malleus demands to know where Idia hid the food. The response was, of course, in his stomach. He was absolutely teasing Malleus about it in front of the other furious 5, just to add salt to the wound. The others were absolutely finding this hilarious since 'how come the great Malleus Draconia is defeated by noodle arms?!'. Malleus defends by saying that he was outsmarted, not in a fight, but in a mind game. The others think that it's bullshit, but Malleus insists that Idia shouldn't be ever let to try and defend his food via mind games.
Today tho, it's also the day Sebek, a worker at the temple, announces that they would have dumplings for dinner. Idia recognises them as the dumplings Azul's mom makes and immediately demands to have at least one.
Good news, for the group, as a treat, there were given 7 dumplings. Bad news, they were 6 and all wanted an extra dumpling. Either for the sake of a reward or, in Idia's case, for the sake of that homey feeling.
Of course, Idia grabs the last dumpling first, so the others, who also wanted, are challenged to the same game that put Malleus to the wall of shame. Malleus is absolutely pumped up, wanting to clean up his name after the shameful defeat.
So Idia takes this time 5 bowls, saying that there can be only 1 winner, so each will choose one individual bowl. He shuffles them and everyone is watching those things like hawks. Idia finishes the shuffling and presents to the 5 the bowls.
Leona tho, decides to check for any tricks, so he rounds the table. He finds out Idia was staying on one leg, with the other holding a bowl that hid something. He points it out, thinking he wins the dumpling.
But it was the extra bowl, the one Idia ate from. He holded it off the table to have a clean game.
Still not happy with it, the group decide to put Idia in the middle of the table as they drag towards them the bowls. They were all around the table, so they would see if Idia tries anything funny.
So they start in order. First is Vil, who isn't a winner. Then Riddle, Leona and Kalim are also met with nothing. Malleus seems excited, since finally he would win. So the others have all the eyes on him.
Nothing under his bowl as well.
Being absolutely dumbfounded and enraged, all 5 look at Idia, only to realise that Idia himself was eating the 6th dumpling without a care in the world. He does notice the stares and asks if they only now caught onto the gig, since Ortho always knew about it.
Before he leaves, Idia adds that his little brother is currently 6.
Even a 6 years old could figure this out and not 5 highly trained warriors. Oh the shame. The absolute shame was unbearable.
Lilia does pass by and asks if by chance, they have an extra dumpling, which, of course, has everyone groaning and collectively saying that no. Idia was already gone to his assigned room by then, so of course, the 5 were trying to figure out how the trick was performed. They saw Idia placing the dumpling under a bowl and they saw the bowls shuffling on the table. They caught only an empty bowl as a 'trick', but still! What kind of witchcraft was this even?!
Lilia finds it curious. He saw only the Aftermath and knew that Idia did something to fool everyone and get that extra dumpling. But what? Maybe that was the spark from the potential Maleficia saw.
Later, Kalim is the one on washing duty, so he was a bit late to go to bed. That's also when he spots Idia outside. Curious, Kalim follows him, trying to find out what Idia is up to. He expected the firehead to be beat from all the training.
Surprisingly, Kalim finds it hard to keep pace with Idia, who was headed to the roof of the temple.
That's also when Kalim sees Idia poofing into a bird made out the same blue flames as his hair, gently flapping it's wings and gliding off from the mountain, straight to the village.
Kalim, of course, follows as a small monkey, realising that Idia was actually going to his home.
He was visiting his family, mostly to check on them.
Of course, Kalim's cover is blown up when he is noticed by Ortho, much to Idia's horror. Idia was absolutely scared since Kalim caught him in the act. Of course, Kalim was a very kind and happy guy, not once badmouthing Idia, but saying that it is a bit difficult to adapt.
Idia also sneaks in to see Azul, Kalim also meeting Azul. Still being salty about the dumpling incident, Kalim brings up that woe to Azul, who was the one who actually made those when Sebek bought them from his errands around. Azul just reassures that it's one of the silly tricks Idia does. Don't think it too much as the answer is very simple. This actually makes Kalim more embarrassed since they overthought everything and still found nothing.
But, after that, Idia and Kalim go back, Idia begging to not say a thing. He kept visiting at night from time to time, mostly because he couldn't handle all this strangeness and how everything felt so hostile.
Kalim tho, asks if Idia could always turn into a bird. Idia responds that he could always do it. It wasn't very hard for him, but it was something only his close ones knew about. He asks Kalim to tell no one about it. Anyway he wasn't any warrior material and he would be out as quick as possible.
Kalim wanted to say something else, but only tells Idia that maybe he should try to put as much effort in his training as he does in his tricks. Idia just says that they are childish tricks. He doesn't put effort in them, unlike in the trainings where he does put a lot effort. That's why he doesn't like it. He tries and tries but gets no results.
So Kalim starts to think. How come Idia was so fast and agile, but also a total flop at training? What was the secret?
Well, meanwhile, Mrs Maleficia passes away, while giving advice to her grandson. So Malleus was very down about this.
So of course, everyone was a bit down. To at least cheer up, Kalim turns to Idia and asks to figure out that bowl trick. Idia, of course doesn't really want to reveal his trick, since it was his only advantage against the others. Then again, Idia had the fear that Kalim might blackmail him.
So he just shows the same trick a few times, Kalim still not being able to figure it out. Idia was getting impatient and Kalim was still without any idea of the execution.
That's when Riddle catches them in the act. He asks what are they trying to do, so Idia shows to Riddle the trick as well. They still can't figure it out and as such Idia wants to give up, since it was obvious.
Disappointed they didn't figure it out, the 2 go to sleep and think about it.
Malleus tho, who happened to pass by, asks how Idia manages to mask the sound of the chopsticks. Idia was on dishwashing duty, so he does catch up that Malleus figured out his gig, so he points to the ceiling cracks due to the wood planks. It's all about the aim. And Idia proves it by throwing the chopstick in the ceiling, getting straight in a crack and making only a small creak. Malleus says that it is impressive and gets the other chopstick to stick it next to Idia's.
The 2 bond a bit over sticking chopsticks to the ceiling. :'3
But, after the death of Maleficia, we get the news of Crewel, a past protige of Lilia's that turned to the evil side. As he was trained and praised, thinking he would be the legendary warrior, but instead he wasn't chosen.
Of course, the furious 5 demand to go and challenge Crewel, but Lilia insists that it is too dangerous. But what they could do? Idia was still being absolutely useless, having no progress in training.
Even so, the 5 decide to still go and at least try.
So left with Idia, Lilia doesn't know what to do with him. Nothing really worked. Idia wasn't making any progress at all.
And Lilia, rightfully, felt absolutely at his lowest. Idia also didn't want to do this, not being reassured the slightest by his poor skills in this.
So he consults with Silver. Now Silver had one leg missing, so the best he could do was to tend to the gardens. Lilia does ask Silver, as Silver was his previous protige.
And Silver says that Maleficia didn't see any legendary warrior spark in him either, but Lilia still managed to find a way to train him. Even after he got his leg ripped off by Crewel and Sebek was blinded in his right eye and his right hand was missing too, Lilia didn't try to give up on neither of them. Silver gave up on his training, as he knew Lilia had to focus on the 5 protiges. And Sebek's goal was only to guard the temple and the warriors that are training in here. Lilia wanted them to be legendary warriors, he got so innovative in trying to prove this that one actually thought there was a chance.
But that chance wasn't there. And now, Idia is given to him as the chosen legendary warrior. Silver saw Idia and he knows that there is that talent. Lilia just has to do what he did to him and Sebek's training: seeing through their eyes. Trying to understand how they think and what they truly want.
Lilia ends up praising Silver, mostly because of how calm and composed he was in times where people like Lilia were losing their mind.
So Lilia tries to see how Idia does. How he thinks and reacts to things. He only found out that Idia loves the food made by Azul and that he is knowledgeable in different tricks, mostly used to confuse the others and get him an extra piece at dinner.
So Lilia sets up a little thing. He tells Idia that Sebek got some of those sweet desserts from the village restaurant and he doesn't know where they are hid. He also plays it as being just Sebek not wanting to share since usually the others always haul the food.
Lilia immediately finds Idia doing a perfect split in between 2 cabinets, looking above them and trying to find those desserts. Of course, when being caught in the act, he immediately drops down and crashes on the floor.
Lilia slowly comes to the realisation that Idia's problem was not his skill, but the fact that people were looking. He was always awkward, unless he performed a trick he knows so well he is aware he can't possibly mess it up.
So he tries a new way to train Idia. Train him without being actually there. Of course, it sounded outrageous, but Lilia had a plan.
He blindfolds Idia. So he tells him to do tasks alone in the room until he comes back.
Thing was, Lilia never left the room. He was there all the time, watching how Idia performed. Unlike before, his approach was far more calculated, far more calm and clean.
Slowly, Lilia tries to 'catch' Idia in more opportune positions, where he cannot fall off that easy. He wants to have Idia slowly lose that sudden 'drop everything and overthink' reflex, by giving the illusion that he isn't there, that he's just giving him a task and lets him do whatever to just get the result wanted.
Meanwhile, the 5 return. Unfortunately, the first one who finds them was Azul, who deems that all 5 are in no condition to even continue and try to climb all those stairs. He takes them in for at least a bit until they get a bit more energy and treat their wounds. Vil was absolutely frozen, Kalim had his head bashed on rock and as such it was all wounded and he was dizzy. Leona and Riddle both got strangled by bridge strings and Malleus was almost killed. It was a miracle they were alive by what Azul concludes.
Unfortunately, it wasn't a miracle, it was a warning from Crewel to Lilia and everyone.
So Azul writes a letter and takes Ortho to send it to the temple as fast as possible. Riddle and Kalim are the fastest ones who recover and they are asked to take Vil along Leona to the temple. Malleus still could bearly walk and as such, he needed a bit more time to either recover or for Azul to decide to finally carry his ass to the temple too.
For Idia, the training was going well when Ortho arrives. Surprisingly, Idia himself seems not fazed, even adapting to the situation when he rushes to Ortho to see why he was here. Lilia also comes when Ortho says that Azul gave him an urgent letter to deliver, regarding the furious 5.
That's when Lilia allows Idia to get the blindfold off so he could read the letter. It is revealed that Azul penned the report from the 5 and added how 4 of them are coming to the temple since they are recovering faster than Malleus.
Of course, Lilia gets worried when the others come in and he has to unfreeze Vil. They said the same things as in the letter, that Crewel was coming.
So finally deeming that Idia was ready and with the situation at hand, Lilia is giving to him the legendary scroll that holds the said secret only the legendary warrior shall know.
Idia says that it's literally empty. Literally that whole scene with the scroll but it's Idia and Lilia instead.
So with this, there is the problem of what to do? They had little time and their priority was the innocents first and foremost.
So Lilia gives the order to evacuate the village. He would stay behind to keep Crewel from trying to track them. The others try to convince Lilia to at least have the 5 to help, but Lilia says that they are were wounded beyond any possibility of fighting at the moment.
So the order is given and everyone is leaving the village.
Ortho asks why they are leaving, Idia saying that it's something they cannot stop, something that threatens their lives and the risk was too big to be ignored. Idia tries to reassure that it's alright and that they would all be safe and happy in the end.
But of course, Ortho was bummed about it. When asked about why, he says that Idia never backed down. When there was a challenge for him, Idia would try and try whether it was a success or not. And many times it turned out to be a failure, but Idia still didn't give up. That was the thing that made Idia... Well Idia... So to see his big brother running away, it was a bit disappointing. No.... Scrap that... Very disappointing. Ortho says that it is like Idia completely forgot what was inside of him.
Idia tho, has a realisation moment. So he drops everything and tells Azul that he has to go back, because he finally figured it out. Azul, already having himself busy with the wounded Malleus, couldn't stop Idia at all before he ran off back to the temple.
Ortho tho, notices that Idia forgot something: the scroll. So he asks Malleus if he knows what it was. Malleus responds that it's the thing Crewel is after, the scroll that could only be read by the legendary warrior. He guesses Idia already read it or at least was given to keep safe by Lilia, even so, it was a very important object. Azul gets a bit worried, since if Crewel is after this, then surely he won't stay too much at the temple.
At the temple tho, Crewel arrives and challenges Lilia for the scroll in question. Of course they fight, but their fight gets put off when it's realised that the scroll wasn't anymore in the temple.
And Idia arrives! He was absolutely beat from all that running, but ya know, gotta commit to it. Crewel inquires to know who this noodle arms is, to which Idia declares that he is the one who hid the scroll away from Crewel. He states that it was too late, as Crewel will never find it.
Of course... This results in Idia getting yeeted off the mountain. Thankfully, he turns into his usual bird self to avoid getting smashed into a roof.
Cue very epic fight. Crewel wanted to know where the scroll was, but Idia was not telling a soul. If he tries to end him, he'd never find out, so it was a condition to also keep Idia alive.
Except that all goes to vain when Idia realises that Ortho returned, with the scroll he forgot. Idia intended to hide it on his person, but now everything was blown up. Crewel, of course, sees the younger brother and is absolutely ready to tear everything into shreds just to get that damn scroll.
But that also seems to hit some buttons for Idia, as this time he immediately puts the man down and takes Ortho to put some distance in between them. Of course, Idia is worried sick for his brother and takes the scroll from him, telling Ortho to hide. He couldn't run back, since Crewel would most likely follow and try to use him as a pawn, which would lead to the other villagers. As such, Ortho is told to hide until Idia tells him it's safe to come out.
So now Idia has the scroll with him, initiating another epic fight.
Of course Crewel finally gets an upper hand, putting Idia to the ground. Except that, to the horror of Ortho, who was watching from his hiding spot, Idia admits defeat and turns into ashes, which are blown away by the wind. Of course, being absolutely devastated, Ortho gets out of his hiding spot, crying that his brother was killed. Crewel, of course, pays little mind as he opens the scroll.
But is meant with an empty shiny paper.
That's when Idia, fully alive and with no scratch, puts his hand on Crewel's shoulder, telling him that it took him a while to figure it out as well, but it wasn't about an invincible technique or some sort of hidden magical power. It was absolutely nothing, because one didn't need anything but themselves and their will to become a legendary warrior. Well... Whatever that legendary meant, was up to everyone's interpretation in Idia's vision.
But for him, at least, legendary meant that he gets to make his brother proud of him.
So finally, Idia uses on Crewel the same technique of freezing one's body. Initially, Crewel attempted to do it on Idia, but he was way too slippery. Didn't mean he didn't get to see the technique up close, enough so he could attempt to copy it.
In the end, Idia is worrying over his little brother, while Ortho laughs it off and tells Idia that he was amazing and that this is why he was chosen in the first place. Ortho never doubted his brother in the first place. But if Idia still has a few doubts still, Ortho would spell it out for him.
He was very proud of his big brother. Weather he was a legendary warrior or not.
Idia does ask of Ortho to keep, like usual, the fact that he could turn already into an animal a secret, bit they are interrupted by Kalim, who apparently rushed here to retrieve the 2 when he was told Idia ran off and Ortho after him.
Kalim tho, still tells Idia that maybe he should show it to the others, but Idia insists that no one shall know for now. Even so, Kalim is asked to go with Ortho and tell the others about the defeat of Crewel while he goes to the temple to check on Lilia.
When everyone returns with cheers and everything, Idia is found napping next to Lilia.
And that would be the prologue :3

OC Intro: Phineas Morgan
(dialogue responses to the OC interview prompt)
1. Please state your full name and occupation.
“My name is Phineas Morgan, but you can call me Finn. I’m a teaching assistant for Dr. Nichols, and I’m pursuing my master’s in classic and romantic literature.”
2. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
“Well…I like to read, obviously. I’m probably in the middle of about six different books right now, not including the ones for my studies, so obviously I’m great at commitment. But to my credit, I’ve got four dogs, and I think at least three of them love me. Um…I’m an orphan, which I guess makes me mysterious to some people. Oh and of course the obvious thing - I’ve got albinism. Just in case you were concerned, I do always look like this.”
3. How would you describe your childhood?
“In a word? Chaotic. Of what I can talk about comfortably, most is still sort of jumbled for me. I entered the foster system when I was 9, and I was pretty fortunate for a while before things got bad. I was displaced three times, which is less than the usual by a long shot. But most of my memories are either jumbled and confusing or just outright unpleasant to recall. Nothing was stable. It was…difficult. Chaotic.”
4. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
“An attorney, like my dad.”
5. Do you have any role models? Tell us a little bit about them.
“My partner Emmanuel’s father is probably one of the best people I know. He’s incredible. He looked out for me when I was a kid even though he didn’t have to. He still does. He’s hilarious and sweet, always trying to help people even when they don’t deserve it. And he can grow anything, anywhere. He texted me a picture the other day of like twenty cucumbers on his kitchen table with a bunch of emojis and the words ‘LOS PEPINOS’ in all caps.” (laughs) “He’s a gem. I love that man.”
6. Are you introverted or extroverted? Why?
“I guess you could say I’m more introverted but I can achieve extraversion pretty well when I need to, like when I’m teaching. As for why…growing up in foster and group homes it’s kind of dangerous to stand out. You just keep to yourself, you don’t know who’s safe. So I guess that’s a reason. But I really think it’s just because my nose is stuck in a book half the time. I usually prefer to listen over speaking in general, too. Easier to learn that way.”
7. How would you describe yourself in three words?
“Academic. Romantic. Cautious.”
8. What do you like to do for fun?
“You’re not gonna believe this, but I like to read.” (laughs) “But I enjoy watching movies too, and spending time with my partners. I like taking my dogs to the park or on hikes, as well, weather permitting.”
9. What's your greatest achievement? Why do you consider this your greatest achievement?
This was answered in an ask, check the tag to find it!
10. What's your biggest goal? How do you hope to achieve this?
“Big goals are hard for me. Right now the biggest goal I have is to graduate. Which I’m on track to do so…that’s good.”
11. What does your dream room/house look like? Would you mind showing some inspiration pictures?
“Ah, I don’t really have an exact layout idea. But I would love a cozy home with a little library and a yard for the dogs. And definitely a king bed. A nice rustic kitchen for Vi and E to cook in. But nothing flashy or massive. Just enough space to spread out a little. To be comfortable in a place to call my own.”
12. How would you describe your style?
“Practical for sure. Academic. I like to be comfortable but presentable. Being able to pick my own clothes was kind of a big deal for me and I went a little crazy at first before I found my style . I’m just glad I figured it out before long. You should have seen me when I was 18…far too much argyle for one man…”
13. What's your favorite song?
“Currently anything from Unreal Unearth. But Bowie’s Life On Mars? is always a favourite of mine.”
14. Where are you happiest?
“When I’m with my partners and dogs. When we cuddle up on the couch at night and I’ve got limbs and paws digging into me…it sounds uncomfortable but I’ve never been happier than when I’m sweaty and crampy and squished into a couch corner like that. It’s my favourite place to be.”
15. Who is the most important person in your life? Why?
“I have two people. Emmanuel and Violet. I love them with every part of my soul. I can’t imagine what life was like without them. I don’t want it.”
16. Do you believe in soulmates? Why or why not?
“Yes. Because I found them.”
17. Have you ever been in love?
“Many times. All the time. I’m in love with my partners. But I’m in love with Gatsby too, you know? I’m in love with Jane Eyre and Sir Gawain. I fell in love with Violet like I fell in love with Zelda Fitzgerald. I fell for Emmanuel like I fell for Alexandre Dumas. Every time I’m with them I’m in love all over again, every time I read beautiful prose I’m falling in it. It’s hard sometimes to be falling that often, but it gives the grey things in my life some colour.”
18. Have you ever been kissed?
“And then some.”
19. Describe an average day in your life.
“Wake up, take out the dogs and feed them breakfast, black tea, then shower and prep for my lectures. Do that, then office hours, lunch, classes, and then it’s pretty much dependent on what E and Vi want to do. We try to eat dinner together every night at the least, or we’ll do homework or study nights in the library rooms during busy weeks.”
20. Describe your nighttime routine.
“After dinner with them I’ll come home and take care of the dogs again. If E and Vi come over we’ll usually talk or play a game or watch something until we turn in. And if none of us get handsy I’ll usually be the last to fall asleep. But if I’m alone, I’ll read or do some more prep work if I need to, or just watch TV until I’m ready for bed. I drink a nightly cocktail of medicinal tea with CBD and some other stuff in it to help me sleep, so I’ll do that about thirty minutes before bed. Then I’ll take the dogs out and do my skincare and it’s lights out.”
21. (Make up a question) Tell us a “low-stakes” unpopular opinion you have.
“Admittedly most of my unpopular opinions are about literature, but I’ll avoid boring you and save those for my lectures. Generally speaking I feel like most of my opinions are unpopular so I have plenty, but I’ll just say for now that I think Crocs are actually fucking awesome. They’re comfortable and adorable and I have been known to wear them in public despite protest from Violet. I’d wear them all the time if I could. I once almost wore them to lecture with a button down and trousers. I don’t even care. Let my feet be comfy. And evidently my most unpopular opinion has to do with oat milk but if I talk about it a certain person I know will actually become genuinely upset with me so I’ll refrain.”
(Manny yelling from the other room) “Oye canche, don’t start with the milk thing again!”
(Finn laughs)

Random Questions for Jasmine to Answer
Thought it would be fun to ask Jasmine a bunch of questions for no other reasons than I wanted to. Some are sad, others are less sad.
But OMG I forgot this existed! It’s been sitting in my drafts since May and I forgot some of the answers I wrote so it made me laugh to reread them.
Jasmine: (Sitting at Nicks desk with her legs crossed, a pile of papers in her hands) “Well, guess we are breaking the fourth wall today.” (Flips the papers around) “So many questions, y'all lucky I ain't taking this as an interrogation session.” (Clicks her tongue, rifling back to the first page) “Lets get started then.” What is your name?: “Jasmine. If you want a last name as well, then Valentine.” How old are you?: “About 15.”
How do you style your hair?: “Braids are my go to standard. Keeps this long curly hair I insist on keeping out of my face.”
What kind of clothing do you wear?: “Tactically? Cargo pants and a jacket that are both tailored to my needs.”
Do you wear makeup?: What kind?: “I know how to apply makeup beautifully, but I don't wear it. There isn't much left of the prewar stuff anyways.”
What is your skin tone?: “Uh…” (Glances at her hand and arm) “Like a light honey brown? Golden tan? Never gave it much thought because I don’t care.”
Where were you born?: “Hm, I believe I was found as an infant somewhere in downtown Boston. God only knows where I was exactly born, and who to.” What did your father and mother do for a living?: “I don't know what exactly my adoptive father did prewar times, I know he was in the military at some point. My adoptive mom did a lot of odd jobs at odd hours, again I don't know what. Nick, my Dad, is a private detective.”
Were you well off? Middle class? Impoverished?: “Prewar, right on the very thin line between absolutely broke, and regular broke. We had a cozy house and all, but everything else was a little more scarce. Clothes we got second hand and mended ourselves, sometimes we didn't power, heating, or dinner. Nowadays I guess we are considered middle class by Wasteland standards, have enough to eat, roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, not getting raided every twenty seconds…”
Do you have siblings? If so, what are their names and ages?: “Had an sister named Lilac, who was five years older than me. And a brother named Cosmos, who was three years younger. Both are now long off dead. Right now I guess you could say I have a lot of people who act like older siblings to me. Especially Ellie, Hancock and Piper.”
Where do you fall in the birth order? The oldest, youngest?: “Middle child, but I took the role of the oldest from Lilac. Now I am one of the youngest in our little family-like group, and the only kid who can go out on missions or cases.” Which one of you is your mother’s favorite?: “None. She never play favorites with any of us, even though I was the only adopted child.”
Where did you grow up? Is this a place you’d go back to now? Or avoid?: “I think the town I lived in was called Pepper Valley or something close to that. I have to avoid it now because its in the Glowing Sea, nothing left there worth seeing or visiting anyways. The Vault I spent over a decade in since I was nine is down near New York. No, I don't want to ever go back there…”
Do you still have friends there? Or family?: “Everyone from then and there is dead.”
How did you do in school?: “I soaked up knowledge quickly like a sponge, but I would rather have been doing something active then sit around listening to a half hearted lessons by teachers who barely gave a shit. Who knows, maybe I would've been a genius if the public education system was better.”
What was your favorite subject?: “Gym, because that is where my physical capabilities shinned the most. Guess who was never picked last for teams?”
What was your greatest talent?: “Obviously my extreme athletic and super human abilities. I’m just surprised I haven’t gotten magical abilities yet.”
How far did you advance in your education?: “In a normal public school, I got all the way up to third grade. Afterwords I took lessons up in the Vault in an empty classroom. Most of the time I was learning from reading a worksheet and a occasional book. Other times I listening to an old hag with a ruler droning on about whatever the subject and correcting my every mistake with a smack.”
What is your life like at the moment?: “Pretty good compared to all the other possibilities I could be living. I have basically everything I need, and more.”
Where do you live now?: “At the Valentines Detective Agency in Diamond City. Its pretty small, but cozy. Dad helped me make my little sleeping space feel a little more prewar and personalized.”
What are your physical surroundings like? Are they comfortable, safe, or dangerous?: “We live in one of the more safer places in the Commonwealth. But that doesn't mean there isn't trouble. A lot of people don't like synths, so more than once have we woken up to pounding at our door or something being thrown at it. Get some pretty nasty threats and comments too, but Nick is somehow used to it. Other than that there is just the looming possibility of an attack from Raiders or Super Mutants, like everywhere else.”
Who lives with you?: “Its just me and Nick living here in the agency full time but Ellie is here so much she might as well be counted too.”
How do you get along with them? If you don’t get along, what is the source of conflict?: “We all get along almost perfectly and in harmony, either working together on a case or relaxing with one another.”
Do you have/had children?: (Looks away from the paper) “....pass.”
What do you do for a living? Are you self-employed, or do you work for someone else?: (Brightening up again) “Oh! I work with Dad on any cases he takes up. He gives me a small cut of the pay in case I want to buy extra stuff for myself, but I never do.”
If you use drugs or alcohol, how do you feel about it? Do you brag about it? Try to hide it? Try to give it up and fail? Have no problem with it?: “With drinking its really hard for me to get drunk or gain any lasting negative side effects, so its fine if I chug down some bottles. Chems are a bit difficult. I was forcefully pumped with all sorts of strange and strong stuff for six years, then willingly continued afterwords. No, Im not proud of it, but it helps free me from my troubles for a blissful moment. Its hard to hide it when you're Dad is a detective, if he asked me outright Id would admit it. Otherwise I just tried to keep quiet about it.”
What do you do to entertain yourself?: “I’ve learned how to live without entertainment.”
What is your idea of a really fun time?: “An entire day spent at the lake or pool. Or just hanging out with people I love.”
Are your parents still living?: “Biological? They both probably died in the bombs, if not before. Adopted are also both dead. Nick is alive and perfectly healthy, or I guess functional, at the moment. Wouldn't be lying if I said I wasn't worried about him also dying... If that’s a possibility for a synth like him.”
If so, where are they now? Nearby or far away?: “Dad is out on a case right now, he wouldn't let me tag along after I got smacked out cold during the last one. But I'm usually glued to his side.”
How did they raise you as a child? Were they strict or lenient? Did they pay attention to you, or were they more interested in other things?: “Mamá tried her best to tend to us, but she just couldn't as much as she should with working so much to keep us afloat.”
If one or more of your parents are deceased, when did they die?: “Adopted father was mugged and murdered right before Christmas when I was two. Mami died in a car crash when I was just about turning nine.”
Where are you in your life right now? What are you most pleased with right now?: “According to Nick, Im at a healing process in life after all the traumatic and abusive shit I was shoved through. So its a very wonky and painful at times, the past slapping me down at the worst moments. But… I have people that support me, and I am grateful for that.”
What keeps you awake at night?: “Other than my chronic insomnia caused by a whole string of things? I don’t know for sure. Its never due to the comfortableness of my sleeping position, I can virtually fall asleep anywhere. Slept against a cold hard floor and if I was lucky a wooden bed during the Vault times. Sometimes I fell asleep standing right up against the wall, felt safer that way...”
Would you trade ten years of your life to be richer?: “No. Money wont buy a you a second of lost time, unless someone is holding a gun to you're head and threatens to shoot if you don't pay up.”
What memory makes you swell with pride?: “When my little brother Cozzy finally got the hang of riding a bike. Heh, we spent hours trying to get him to balance… But it was worth it to see the smile on his face.”
If you could relive one day of your life without changing anything that happened, which day would you choose?: “The day my Mamá had a day off and she took us for a hike and a picnic at the beach. We spent the entire day swimming, playing volleyball, burying each other in the sand, hiking the high trails, just having a good time as a family. The sunset that day was also magnificent… One of the best I've ever seen.” (Smiles softly to herself)
How would your best friend describe you?: “Dogmeat? Uh, he'd probably bark happily and lick my face, which in doggy language means Im good.”
How would your parents describe you?: “I don't know what Mamá would think of me now, I always imagined disappointment and disgust on her face. Nick sees me differently then I see myself, so I also don't know. I will ask him when he gets back.”
What do you think about in the shower?: “How much longer must I remain in this vulnerable state and can I kill a man with a bar of soap.”
Do you stay up late or wake up early?: “Both. Although Nick insists I try to get into bed by 10pm if possible, and I cant really put up a strong argument with that.”
What do you do if you can’t sleep?: “Thats almost every night for me. Nick usually holds me until I do fall asleep if he is not busy. It’s a good thing, it gives him a chance to also rest. Daddy works like a machine way too much of the time, but he needs some form of rest like the rest of us.”
Who or what do you turn to when you’re upset?: “For the longest time it was only hurting myself. Cutting, scratching, pinching, burning, and punching a wall until I cant feel my hands. I still have the urge to do that, but I try to either talk it out with Daddy or keep my hands far away from myself.”
Can you lie easily?: “Yes. It was one of the many Vault courses I was forced to take, learn to be able to lie or make something seem like a lie on a whim. I try not to use any of those techniques unless I really have to.”
How can the other people tell when you're lying?: “They can’t if I don’t want them to.”
Have you ever done something illegal?: Prewar childhood times, nothing too bad. The worst thing I did was sneak into a police station with Lilac my older sister to get ahold of some dusty old files. We almost got caught, but other than that nothing else except for some trespassing and misuse of public property.”
Do you pick wildflowers?: “When I can find some on the barren earth? Yes, at least one to put in my hair or press into a book.”
Muffins or cupcakes?: “If I could eat them? Cupcakes, although they both sound good.” (Tilts her head) “I should try making some, for everyone else to try at least.”
If you spray-painted a city wall, what would you write/draw?: “One of those giant cat motivational posters saying BELIEVE or something like that.
You wake up permanently invisible. Do you ask for help right away, or do you stay hidden?: “I would run to Dad for help, probably scare the hell out of the old man in the process, then fall over in defeat.”
Jeans, skinny jeans, or sweatpants?:“Sweatpants, I can move around easier in them.”
How far can you spit a watermelon seed?: “Last time I checked? Across a classroom. In my defense, that girl was getting on my nerves and the look on her face when it hit her glasses and nose was priceless.”
Do you sleep in normal clothes or pajamas? To what degree are you clothed?: “I would sleep in my day clothes all the time, but both Ellie and Dad insist that I change into something clean and light.”
What are your three favorite types of flowers?: “Almost obvious. Roses, Lilacs, Cosmos, and Jasmines are my top three. But I like almost every flower.”
When you sneeze: hand, elbow, or nada?: “Elbow. Its disgusting that many people just blow it out globs of spit and mucus with no regard of everyone else. Ewwww, you can feel the particles.”
What was the last thing you thought about stealing?: “A key for some warehouse out of some guys pocket during the last case I went on with Nick. Good thing I did, we found the runaway tied up in there and were able to get them out alive, eventually.”
When was the last time you physically attacked something?: “During the same case. I got into a scuffle with a big brute on our way out. The runaway almost surrendered back to their captures and I had to jump in to save them.” (Points to her bruised head) “One of the baddies got a good hit in.”
Your favorite thing about riding a Ferris Wheel?: “When it suddenly stops at the very tippy top and you are just swaying from the force and the wind.”
Are you a cat, dog, or horse person?: “Cats and dogs, fight me if ya want me to pick just one.”
Do you prefer raw cookie dough or fully baked cookies?: “Fully baked homemade cookies with a warm glass of milk...” (Smiles dreamily)
Are you ticklish?: “Yeah I think so, just good luck trying to tickle me without dying.”
Do you prefer floral/outdoor scented candles, or candles that smell like food?: “Ugh, I hate the very smell of food. Course I choose the flowers.”
Do you pay attention to the weather forecast?: “Haha, the closest we get to that is Nick squinting up at the sky while holding up a finger and going, “Seems like rain.” So yes, I do pay attention.”
Do you give nicknames to other people?: “I don't use nicknames on a regular basis unless said person tells me directly to call them that. I hardly get call by Jasmine from anyone close anymore, everyone has their own nicknames for me other than the typical Jazzy or Jas.”
When you go to the beach, do you use sunscreen? Lotion or spray-on?: “For someone who doesn't have any skin- Daddy is the sunscreen police with me. And he insists every time that the spray on is no good because the old Nick used it once at the beach and ended up with a nasty burn.”
Do you sing in the car, in the shower, or both?: “We don’t have cars anymore and it’s a rare day when I’m comfortable enough to sing in the shower.”
Deep down, do you believe a hot dog is a sandwich?: “A piece of overly processed meat in between two slices of bread? Sounds like a sandwich to me.”
Long sleeves or spaghetti straps?: “Longed sleeved. More practical out here, and it hides more.”
What’s the weirdest place you've climbed up on?: “Hah, probably a one of those stripper signs, the ones with the legs and high heels. I was trying to navigate back home and needed a good spotting point that I wouldn't get sniped from and it was my best bet.”
Would you rather fly or be immortal?: “I am already on the borderline of being immortal, so flying ‘cause why not have another super ability.”
If you were forced to dye their hair, would you rather dye it purple or neon green?: “I think purple would draw the least amount of attention of the two, especially if its dark.”
Most embarrassing middle school moment?: “I didn’t attend middle school.”
On a road trip, are you the driver, the DJ in the passenger seat, or one of the people eating snacks and huddled under the bags in the back?: “Drivers helper in the passengers seat.”
What would you do if you were locked in a room with a rat?: “I would befriend the rat and train it to crawl through a small hole in the wall to let me out.”
Your crush asks you to dance and pulls you to the dance floor. How do you react? Do you try to hide their feelings? And most importantly, do you dance?: “Let’s first push past the low probability of a guy liking me enough back to have the guts to pull me onto the dance floor. If he gets that far without getting the living daylights knocked out of him, then I guess we could do a few songs, if he can keep up.”
Jasmine: (Tosses the piles of paper behind her) “Welp, that’s enough of that for today.” (Squints at the floor) “Why the hell did I even do this again…?”

Impressions from Devcom & Gamescom
Last week was a really intense one for us, as we attended both Devcom and Gamescom. At Devcom, we did the first IRL showcase of Truer than You, during the two conference days, as well as at Developer Night at Courage Cologne. Then we moved over to Gamescom for meetings, where we were part of the Creative Europe Media stand.
Showing the game
Tumblr media
Layna | Cozy Games playing Truer than You at Devcom
Showing a game publicly for the first time is always nerve-wracking. We have done a user test of the game before, but it’s very different to observe people when they are playing. We learned a lot! Some of the findings we did were things we had already suspected, some were things we didn’t already know, which is great, because now we’ll have the chance to make things better.
The players
We tried to keep track of the players, and found that 63 % seemed to be female/non-male. We had already estimated that 60 % of our players would be non-male, and this guess seems to be fairly accurate. Then you’d have to consider that (judging from what we could see) the visitors to Devcom are not evenly distributed between genders – we believe there are less female visitors than male. Some of the players commented that they were drawn to the game since they interpreted it to be LGBTQ+, which made us really happy, because it’s true!
Tumblr media
The art style
The most common comments revolved around the art style. “Visually striking”, “unique” and “one of a kind” were some terms used, and I, who created the art, could not be happier. The art for this game has actually been a challenge from the start, and I’ve changed the style, especially of the backgrounds, many times. Getting encouraging comments was exactly what we needed.
Rin's gender
Before showcasing, we had some questions around how the main character Rin would be interpreted by players. Some commented that they appreciated that Rin was explicitly stated as non-binary. (I myself got goosebumps when a player called out “yay” at the point when Rin said their pronouns were they/them.)
Tumblr media
There were also some players who used the pronoun “she” for Rin, which we see as a good thing, since we were afraid they would be interpreted as male. Seeing that different players used different pronouns for Rin was something that delighted us. (Two players were also called Rin themselves, but that’s a completely different story).
The things that didn’t work
We also found some things that we need to improve, and two things stood out. One was that some players didn’t grasp how the choices worked, and they could miss making any choices at all (since the game doesn’t force you to make choices, you can always continue without choosing).
Tumblr media
Another was that some players got a little “lost” when clicking around in the in-game phone, not knowing when and how to close it. Both these things can be addressed with better feedback through sounds and animation, and (in the phone) adding a button, but also by making the tutorial more thorough.
Developer Night & Courage Cologne
After the last day of Devcom it was time to showcase at Developer Night / Courage Cologne. It was our first time at that event, which brings thousands of people to a showcasing night at a club. There are many, many cool indie games to play, an outdoor area to hang out in, and a dance floor (that attracted my attention a lot, since I was in the mood for dancing). We thoroughly enjoyed this event. It reminded us of showing Knife Sisters at A Night of Erotica in Malmö in 2017, which was a great experience, and the first time we showcased Knife Sisters.
Tumblr media
Our station at Courage Cologne before the event, next to our nighbours from Greece and their amazing game
Showing a game on a club night is very different from showcasing at daytime, and our game might not be 100 % suited for a loud and crowded environment, but actually, a lot of people played. The happiest things were to reunite with the founders of Gamera Games, who we’d met for the first time at Gamescom last year, and to meet with someone who helped us test Truer than You and who we hadn’t met in person before.
Tumblr media
Hanging out with other devs at Courage Cologne
Gamescom highlights
After showcasing for two days and one night, moving over to Gamescom to “only” have meetings actually felt kind of easy. We were part of the Creative Europe Media stand, and met with many new and old friends and strengthened our business relations. I guess!
Tumblr media
Meeting up with a female/non-male network from Discord was one of the highlights, another was talking to the Korean dev behind the cheeky platformer Pigromance, and a third was hanging out with friends on the stairs to the Dome in the middle of the night.
Tumblr media
We also took the time to explore the exhibition halls, see our friends do a chiptune show, play some games, and get mystery bags.
All in all, our experiences from Devcom and Gamescom were wonderful – and we’re already looking forward to coming back next year!
Tumblr media
Plushie loot from the mystery bags!

Here we go again. I thought as I stared up at the ceiling. If I had to guess, it was nearing eleven or noon. Some days it wasn't this hard to get out of bed and try to be productive; today wasn't it. "Productive," I roll my eyes at the word as if I have anything to worry about. For all I know, Monroe Designs is done and over with. As much as mother would want to put her people there and make it work, they wouldn't get the vision right. Reusing my styles would be so tacky even for my mother to consider. Maybe now she'll realize it's not as easy to create designs as mine. Not that it'd make a difference, she'd never admit she was wrong. I feel like a zombie roaming the room until I find myself in the shower. It's the simple tasks that take the most out of me. Even as I stand under the stream of cold water, my body doesn't react to the temperature, much less the warmth it quickly turns to. I feel numb and unaffected. I don't have goosebumps or tremble, and it seems like nothing can touch me. I'm tightly embraced by failure, and it doesn't want to let me go. It demands to be acknowledged and won't accept any less. All I want to do is run back into bed and hide under the covers; even though I know it will find me, it feels like the best place to be. As I stare at the reflection in the mirror, I follow the few drops of water moving along the path down her temple, a few damp strands of hair stuck to her face. Even though I dread it, I finally meet her gaze. So much sadness fills them, and I want nothing more than for it to be replaced by the happiness it once knew. I understand that she also desires it, and it is the very least she should accept. However, I am unable to provide it to her at this moment, so I shut my eyes, feeling deep shame for letting that girl down. ♫ My dreams are filled with the thought of you and me ♪ My brows furrow as I try to register what I'm sensing. As I open my eyes, I notice a brightness in the bedroom that wasn't there before. My shoulders fall as I begin to relax. I just realized I'm sitting on the bed with a towel wrapped around me. The fabric feels gentle on my skin and cozy as if it was freshly laundered. ♫ This is a promise, an unbreakable bond ♪ There was a brush softly moving through my hair, easing my mind. I don't want it to stop, as I fear that the intrusive thoughts might resurface suddenly. Yet something deep down within me told me that wasn't going to be the case. ♫ I'll guide you through your troubles and mess ♪ That soft voice, the lyrics to my song, nearly brought tears to my eyes. The grip that failure had on me was no match against him. His voice silenced all the troubles floating around in her mind. I felt warm as his body heat spread to me. Although I believed that I could improve and become a better partner for him, my focus remained on his love for me. The promise of being there for each other through good times and bad reassured me that everything would be alright. It won't always be rainbows and sunshine, and that was okay. Feeling his support gave me the strength to conquer this challenge, and the world. There was nothing that could be better than this nothing could be better than his love. My light. My love.

Winnie the Pooh characters as Academia Aesthetics✨
Tigger: chaotic academia / pirate academia
Piglet: romantic academia
Pooh: cottagecore academia
Rabbit: science academia
Eeyore: art/literature academia
Gopher: darkest academia
Roo: kawaii academia / kid academia
Lumpy: pastel academia
Christopher Robin: classic academia
Kanga: cozy academia
Owl: light academia
additional notes:
Piglet & romantic academia might seem odd, but in New Adventures of Winnie Pooh we see him writing poems & reciting them to his friends, and (if we leave out the changes that Tigger makes) they're preeetty romantic (not in the flirty way, you know what I mean). Also, he can enjoy little things in life, he likes decorating his house & is fond of beauty.
Gopher. Do I need to explain more? He spends most of his time in the dark tunnels (even though he's afraid of the dark), he's very logical, down-to-earth & doesn't seem to enjoy the fun/lighthearted activities that much. His human, modern wardrobe would definitely be VERY dark, sophisticated & edgy.
Okay, I think we can agree that Eeyore is such a relatable, underrated donkey. He seems passive & pessimistic but on the inside, he has a soft side & he's seen enjoying some quiet, creative activities. In The Book of Pooh, there's this episode called "You Can Lead Eeyore To Books" where he doesn't enjoy reading until he finds a book with sad poems that he loves. He's known to be quiet & sometimes philosophical, he can get very deep too.
I think, Tigger's association it's pretty self-explanatory. I can see him enjoying unconventional ways of learning, be curious about banned literature and have a messed up daily schedule with little to no routine. Tbh, if you look more into chaotic academia, it seems perfect for him BUT on the same time, pirate academia would also fit. There are multiple episodes where the friends play pirates, and you can see how much Tigger enjoys it. I guess, he would totally be fascinated by pirates, love piratecore, watch movies, read pirate adventure novels etc. He's also quite imaginative.
Christopher Robin's personality is rather "unspectacular". I don't want to say anything negative against him, but he seems quite normal & classy. His bedroom is literally described as one that could belong to any little boy. He doesn't stand out a lot. (He has a lot of good qualities but what I want to say is that he would represent the classic one among the academia aesthetics).
Kanga is the mom friend™️ (while being a mom). She's known to be friendly, patient & she's more in the background, usually not joining the adventures. She's a homebody & ensures that everyone is fine.
Ok, I admit that I partly link Lumpy to pastel academia because of his color BUT it's not the only reason. He's very soft, sensitive & I believe that his light purple suits his personality very well. He can be anxious & shy, but also adventurous, playful & creative. In the Heffalump Movie, he plays the more cautious role next to Roo while playing together & exploring the 100 Acre Wood. In the Halloween movie, he's the one who's scared of the spooky stuff. In some lesser known show, he spends the nights at Roo's place & gets homesick. But he's still curious, sweet & always wants to play.
Roo reminds me of the lesser known kid academia aesthetic. Of course his age plays a role, but crayons, elementary school learning styles, childlike stationary & clothes,... I think the aesthetic fits him very well. He's playful, imaginative & loves to learn new things. Kawaii academia also reminds me of Roo, I can't really explain it.
Rabbit, the pragmatic, practical & sometimes strict one who wants everyone to follow the rules, has to be linked to science academia. I initially thought of cottagecore but this was just because of him gardening. He's more on the logical, head-over-feelings side which is frequently shown. He can become a bit too focused on facts when it'd be more important to listen to emotions. He prefers to make an exact plan & actually enjoys following the instructions (like, when planning a party, celebrating Easter or when he was overly fixated on the map Owl drew while searching for Christopher Robin).
And Pooh is so connected & attentive to nature & simple things in life, I can't think of another academia aesthetic that would fit better. Cottagecore academia is about connecting traditional academia & a passion for learning to the cottagecore lifestyle. Pooh might seem like he's not paying a lot of attention to his surroundings, but he's actually heavily influenced by them. He goes to his special spot for Thinking™️, he enjoys nature & his actions are often influenced by the wellbeing of his friends. He spends a lot of time with deciding on a nice gift, making someone happy etc. And, of course, his daily life focuses a lot on honey.
Owl seems to be the only one who really fits the academia aesthetic in the traditional way. He loves reading, long discussions, a good cup of tea and he gets very passionate about knowledge. He'd also definitely have a soft spot for vintage things. I think he would prefer the lighter side of the academia aesthetic, as I can't see any of the dark academia characteristics in him

Hi! Can I request a Levi x reader where Levi genuinely feels quite happy with y/n and laughs a lot with her and hange or the 104th catch him

Midnight Tea
[ Levi x Fem!Reader ]
[ Fluff - Canonverse ]
Summary: Levi and (Y/N)'s secret romance wasn't much of a secret anymore as a certain group of friends catches them flirting.
Content Warning: Hange making slightly perverted jokes
Word Count: 1.2k
Tumblr media
‎‎‎‎‎A gentle hush cloaked the land, as snowflakes fell down from heaven like glitter that gave the world a new shine. Boughs of trees were clothed with thick layers of fluffy snow.
The steel-gray skies above that oversaw Paradis resembled the eyes of the man who was hugging you in bed, providing warmth from the winter that froze everything with its icy breath.
“Levi, what are you doing?” His needy embrace was tight, it’s almost as if it was saying he never wanted to let you go in his arms.
“I’m serving as your blanket, brat. You wouldn’t want to go quivering to death, would you?”
You knew the man was just making excuses to envelope you in a soft bear hug, “I’m not even quivering. We already have a cozy blanket over us, and a hotly flaming furnace.”
“(Y/N), shut up and let me love you. You’re my pillow now.” The jet black strands of his hair were tickling you as Levi nestled his head against the crook of your neck.
“God, you’re unbelievable! It’s adorable how clingy you are right now, yet you can’t even give me a kiss during training.”
“Tch, I don’t want those nosey pests butting in my personal life, especially shitty-glasses. Besides, it’s extra cold tonight, it’s only right that we provide each other body heat.”
Your hands were lovingly stroking his hair, “If you’re so adamant on keeping me warm and snug, why don’t you make tea for me?”
“Maybe. But I would like to see you try make tea for me instead.” ㅤ
With a small nod, the both of you rushed out of bed. Despite it being midnight, you quickly headed to the kitchen on the first floor, in order to avoid being seen by anyone. Your relationship was a secret, and you both liked it that way.
Levi sat on top of the light-colored wooden table, while you poured hot water into a small teapot, adding green tea leaves. You slowly stirred the substances of the teapot in a hypnotic rotating movement, as to which the man only stared with interest.
After stirring, you closed the teakettle with a lid. “I believe we need to let the leaves rest for seven minutes before straining, then it’s ready to drink.”
The next few minutes of waiting were spent on a leisurely chat. He looked at you with raw emotion; you were the love that awakened his soul. Love itself was nothing more than a word, but between you and him, it was everything.
Realizing it was time, you went to open the drawer beside the table, grabbing a copper mesh strainer.
The lid was removed from the teapot, an earthy scent of tea-infused water blended in with the rising hot steam. You placed the strainer over his favorite cup, and poured the teakettle’s contents into it.
You set the cup down near the edge of the table Levi sat on. Nervously biting your lower lip, “Here you go. I hope it’s up to your standards, Mr. tea connoisseur.”
The captain took a sip from the beverage. Giving his famous tongue click, “It isn’t the best, but I’ve surely tasted worse.”
“I’ll take that as both a compliment and an insult.”
Levi put the cup down. His rough and calloused hands snaked its way to your waist. When he rested his head on your chest, you heard a muffled response in a playful tone, “I guess that leaves me no choice but to teach you how to brew tea properly, right cadet (Y/N)?”
“Oh so we’re playing cadet and captain now, huh? I’d have to report you for your inappropriate behavior, you’re not supposed to hold a cadet like this.”
The man stood up, scooping you in his arms and carrying you bridal style. “Hold you like what? Like this? You’re not just a cadet, you’re my cadet.”
Allowing yourself a smirk, you gazed into his deep eyes. You noticed his typically harsh look had softened. “I’ll make sure the higher ups will hear of your behavior, Mr. Ackerman!” ㅤㅤ
Both of you giggled.
---
Sasha, Connie, and Jean were walking down the halls, trying to steal food at this time of the night. Coming to a halt, they turned their attention towards the source of muffled voices.
“You hear that?” Connie questioned his friends, while running a hand through his non-existent hair.
The brunette hunter replied, “I thought I was hearing things.” ㅤ
Jean looked at them for a few moments. He heard it too. “It’s coming from the kitchen.”
Silently pushing open the heavy kitchen door on their left, they sneakily poked their heads out the small gap of the doorway. They were sent to a state of shock at what their eyes were witnessing.
“(Y/N) and the captain?!”
“So humanity’s strongest can also be soft, huh.”
“I always thought he was a virgi-“
Before they knew it, a certain bespectacled scientist joined them.
“Who’s not a virgin?” Hange took a moment to look at what the trio were curiously watching, only to be shocked at the sight as well. However, as the scientist leaned in to get a better view, the rusty iron hinges of the door loudly creaked, making their presence known to the couple.
Levi turned his head towards the creaking noise, while gently putting you down. Furrowing his eyebrows, he muttered, “What in the hell-“
“Captain, we can explain!” The raven-haired soldier had only spoken four words, yet the three young cadets were already on their knees, asking for forgiveness.
Hange couldn’t hide the amusement on their face, a cunning look came into their eyes. “Oh hohoho, so shorty has finally found love! Tell me (Y/N), is it big?”
Heat rose to your cheeks out of embarrassment from the straightforward question thrown at you. “Hange, it isn’t what it looks like, we’re not togeth-“
However, before you could even finish speaking, you were cut mid-sentence by Levi.
“Yes, we’re dating. And yes… it’s also big. Satisfied? Now take your ass off somewhere else, shitty-glasses. Don’t forget to take those nosey brats with you.” The words came out of Levi’s mouth in a hurried but clear fashion. It didn’t take a genius to figure out he was pissed off.
“What’s big and what is all this commotion?” Another uninvited guest makes their way to the scene. Erwin was going to take a midnight dump, until he heard bickering from the kitchen and decided to see what was happening.
“Erwin, great timing as always! We’re talking about shorty’s little ding-a-ling. I mean, big ding-a-ling!“
The commander was confused. Why were three cadets kneeling on the ground? Why was Hange talking about Levi’s sex. Moreover, what were the rambunctious group doing here in the middle of the night?
Despite his obvious confusion, the blond man couldn’t help but let out a chuckle when Hange's words registered in his mind. “So I assume that’s where all his height went?”
“Oh my God. Can we please stop talking about my boyfriend’s size?”
Sasha, Connie, and Jean were convinced their presence was forgotten, as their commanding officers continued to squabble over an odd topic. They couldn’t wait to get dismissed to their personal quarters. This would definitely make an interesting story to tell the rest of the 104th cadets.

A/N: Just a reminder: Hange uses they/them pronouns in this fic.

Namjoon reaction—calling him a ‘friend’ when he clearly has a thing for you
Tumblr media
❀genre: smut, a bit of fluff
❀collage au
(This was originally supposed to be a quick reaction but something happened to me and I couldn’t stop writing)
“Look, Jisoo, I’d agree with you, but then we’d both be wrong” you flash a cheeky smile at your best friend. She’s being going on and on about how this Kim Namjoon guy had a thing for you.
You can’t lie, you’ve seen him around in campus and sometimes you’d wish he would suffocate you with these thighs of his. Ugh. The perfect combo, lean yet masculine physique with a brain that actually functions for a change. You’ve seen the way these collage girls were circling him around and you can’t blame them, the guy was a catch.
But he was not your crowd of people. He was outgoing, social and had loads of what you like to call “the lad friends”. You guessed his main activities were partying and getting shitfaced every night.
You’ve talked to him a couple of times. He uses the same bench as you to read now and then. You would eventually take sneak peeks at the books he was reading, check if he had any taste or not, and the result was always better than what you expected. This guy knew books. He was not just reading what was on the best seller’s that week to look sophisticated in front of others.
When he caught you peaking he’d started having small talk with you. You swear you’ve never experienced a better conversation flow with another human being. This guy screamed comfort. He seemed genuinely curious about the things you were saying. None of that painful act of pretending to be interested just because he wanted to get laid. You had been talking with him for a month straight and aside from a few moments of some what flirty looks his actions never suggested something more.
His aura was welcoming and he always paid attention to the little things. Unlike some other shallow guys out there, he felt…different.
But how different could he really be? You’ve seen the people he hangs out with. Kim Taehyung? He had a relationship with three girls at the same time. Didn’t even apologize for being the biggest jerk in history. You’ve heard Jung Hoseok’s body count was reaching a 3 digit number AND Jeon Jungkook once fucked 4 different girls at the same night.
Just thinking about it makes you sick. It pains you to admit but there’s only one truth to this. Even if Kim Namjoon was interesting, he was definitely a person you needed to stay away from. All the data point to a big fuckboy alert!
“Come on y/n…. If he wasn’t even in the slightest interested in you then why did he tell me explicitly that he wanted you to attend the party??”
“An invitation to a party doesn’t mean anything. Besides, I’m sure I’m not his style. Have you seen the type of girls he hangs out with? Yikes.”
Jisoo smirked at you “Oh, I see you’re stalking him now?”
You shake your head “Don’t be ridiculous! We take Econ together, that’s all. What? Am I supposed to cover my eyes every time I see him?”
“Maybe you should” Jisoo came closer to you “Y/n, we’re going to that party”
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“This is a big mistake, I’ll get bored within the hour” You scream at Jisoo over the loud music.
“Don’t be a whiney ass and enjoy yourself for once” she handed you a drink.
Enjoy yourself for once. You and Jisoo’s definition of enjoying one self were clearly very different. You scan the room to look for any familiar faces you could talk to. Unfortunately, not a lot of your acquaintances attended frat parties.
Your head motion immediately pauses when you meet eyes with Namjoon across the garden. Was he looking at you this whole time? You feel your cheeks burn.
Initially, you don’t know how to react but eventually you flash him a small smile and focus back on Jisoo
“Kim Namjoon just gave me the biggest stare of all time” you say as you down your drink
“What!?” Jisoo’s eyes widened “This is the time where I say I told you so.”
You think for a second that maybe Jisoo was right all along. But that just makes the whole thing more dangerous for you. You can’t lie, Namjoon is attractive, but you knew he was trouble. Maybe he liked you today and then liked another girl tomorrow.
Suddenly, you feel a hand touch your shoulder “Hey y/n, Jisoo. Glad you guys made it” Namjoon’s low voice pierced your ears.
Jisoo gave you a look before replying to him “Hey!! We couldn’t miss such a night!” She smiled “right y/n??”
“Yeah!! Totally” you cheer kind of awkwardly.
Namjoon’s eyes fixed on you. You felt his stare eat you up. His whole presence felt angelic yet overwhelming. “Do you guys maybe want to join us? We’re sitting right by the pool”
“Oh! Sure, why not!” Jisoo answered almost immediately
You were walking towards the pool, Namjoon was pacing right next to you, he was so close to the point where you could sort of smell his cologne. You swear you could get drunk off his scent.
“I have to be honest, I didn’t think you’d actually come” He chuckled
“Are you disappointed?” You teased and raised an eyebrow.
You see a dimple smile making its appearance, how can this dude be so incredibly hot and cute at the same time? “I think pleasantly surprised would be the right way to put it”
Why do you feel like you can not breath? He hasn’t said much, yet you feel yourself burn up all of a sudden. “Good to know” you smile back.
“Joon! You have to see this” was the first thing Taehyung yelled when you arrived to the place where the guys were sitting “12 o’clock, Hobi making out with Mina from 3rd year. Can you believe it? After two years of trying to get it, he finally succeeds”
Of course the main talk is girls. No surprise there.
“Jungkook bitch, you owe me 20 bucks” Taehyung eyed Jungkook
Your expression screamed disgust. Apparently, Namjoon noticed “They are not as bad as they seem” he elbowed you.
You give him and awkward laugh “I’ll take your word for it” You lie.
“Guys, this is Jisoo and y/n. Can you stop trying to head lock each other and say hello? You’re embarrassing me” Namjoon introduced the pair of you to the boys who were still arguing about the bet.
“Oh, hey girls.” Taehyung paused to inspect Jisoo’s face. “Hey, business and shipping? Ain’t it?”
“Oh, yeah, right!” Jisoo smiled
“Hyung aren’t you taking that class for like the third time? How many times can you fail you recon?” Jungkook teased him and Taehyung answered by giving him a slap on the shoulder.
“Hey y/n, do you want to go grab a drink? I think you’ll need it if you are to tolerate these guys” Namjoon offered.
“I trust you know best” you smile and quickly follow behind him. His shoulders wide and his muscles very visible even through his airy shirt. This guy was a whole statue.
“By the way, I’ve never seen you at parties before. I think I saw you once at the December ball but that’s about it. Not really a big fan of these kind of things, are you?” He suddenly said. You can’t really decode his words. How did Kim Namjoon know you even went to the December ball? You’re pretty sure you didn’t even talk to him that night.
“Interested in me much?” You give him a cheeky smile but he was just looking at you, a couple of seconds passed without him responding “I’m only joking! It’s true I don’t really attend these sort sort of things.”
“And what do you do for fun miss y/n?” He laughs and you swear if you could bottle the sound and get drunk on it you would.
“Oh you’ll think I’m lame”
“Try me” he said in a serious tone while starring right through your eyes. Suddenly, your body felt too heavy for your legs to bear. How can he get to you like that?
“Okay…” You start, him looking at you like that didn’t help control your train of thought, but you manage to get a hold of yourself “So you know that little corner cafe on willow street? Every Friday they have these comedy music nights. A guy-“
“Park Jihoon and the little funny guitar, yeah! I used to go there every Friday during my freshman years! Do they still do that old thing? I swear the pun with the atom never failed to make my day.” He started laughing again.
“Whoah what? You’re telling me you’ve been to the shrieking shack?” That place was a little treasure you’d found earlier this year. It was an amazingly cozy place, perfect during the cold winter time. The staff were all so kind and wore these big oversized colorful ties. But the people going there were all much older than you. You’ve never heard someone your age talk about that place. Let alone a person like Namjoon.
“Careful how you talk to a veteran y/n. I’ve basically helped to build the place” he chuckled.
“Y/n is that you?” A familiar voice greeted you.
“Jimin! Oh my god, hey! It’s been ages since I’ve seen you!” You hug him.
Jimin was a great soul, he majored in contemporary dance and ballet. He had been traveling for the past couple of years enrolling in some extra ballet classes in the magical city of Paris. You envied him for his talent and admired him for his passion.
“Girl, you have to come visit me. You’ll love Europe!”
“I would also LOVE to have some money in my wallet” you laugh “Oh Jimin, this is my friend, Namjoon. We go to collage together”
Namjoon gave you a look and soon after shook Jimin’s hand “What’s up. Nice to meet you”
“Nice to meet you too! But y/n, I’m so so sorry, I have to go. I was actually on my way out just now. I sort of uhm, have a thing-you know” he coughed “I’m leaving in two weeks, can we please meet before that?”
You knew Jimin was probably off to his ex boyfriends house. They broke up before Jimin left for Paris but every time he got back he’d have a couple of hookups with him. “Oh yeah! I bet you’ve got something very important right now, you better go quickly” you teased him “I’ll text you tomorrow, ok?”
Jimin laughed so much his eyes were barely visible “definitely! text me! I’ll be off then! Bye mister Kim Namjoon” he playfully said and was out of your sight a second later.
“You two seem…close” Namjoon suddenly commented
“Yeah! We were! But he has been studying abroad for like two years now.”
Namjoon’s facial expression was quite enigmatic “Did you guys ever… you know”
“Oh no no no.” You pause to make a small chuckle “Jimin isn’t exactly interested in, well, girls like me, or to be exact, girls in general”
Namjoon’s eyes widened and he immediately bursted into laughter “oh… I see” he made a pause “So tell me then, how come the old soul that never goes to parties finally attends one?”
You feel your cheeks burn red. Partly because the reason you went was him. You don’t know why, but the past month you and Namjoon hit it off very well and you wanted to test Jisoo’s crazy theory, you wanted to make sure for yourself if Namjoon was interested in you or not. Now the problem was, even if it turned out he did like you, you didn’t know what you’d do exactly. Namjoon was a really nice guy, but he didn’t come without his red flags.
“Just wanted to try something different, I guess”
“And how’s that 'different' treating you so far?”
What could you possibly tell him? That you have enjoyed every minute you guys have been talking? That you think that just by staring at you he could make you feel things no other guy could? You barely can admit all of that to yourself. “I think pleasantly surprised is the right way to put it” you repeat his words from before.
You see him smile at that. “You know what y/n? I’m really happy you came”
How can he make your heart beat so fast with just one sentence? “Oh really? And why is that?”
“I don’t know, I guess… I just like talking to you, you know? Whenever I’m around you I feel at ease, like I can tell you anything. I feel different when I’m with you, but in a good way”
“Wow” that sound escaped your lips without your consent
Namjoon laughed “Why? Is it too weird?”
“No! Definitely not weird, more like, I don’t know, surprising?”
“In what way?”
“Well you’re… Kim Namjoon, you’re the 2021 class president and you’re like the most popular guy in the whole campus right now.” You made a pause “And I’m just..-“
“The most interesting girl I’ve ever met” he cuts you off
The way he was looking down at you made butterflies grow in your stomach “You really think so?”
He gently grabbed your waist and pulled you closer to him “I know so” he leaned down, you swear his eyes had the whole galaxy painted inside of them. You couldn’t even breath properly at this point. Kim Namjoon was too close and the only thing you were thinking about was how well his kiss would feel “God, you’re so beautiful” he said and pulled you in for a soft, gentle kiss.
You couldn’t believe your senses. Kim Namjoon was kissing you and you really thought the earth had stopped spinning right then and there. You could feel his big palms traveling up and down your back.
His kiss was breathless, jubilant, filled with the joy of life, and you should stop him, he is no good to you, you know that, but his scent is delightful and his lips are so warm.
Unconsciously, your hands reach the inside of his shirt. His skin hot and soft at the touch.
"y/n" he practically moans your name, and just the sound makes your knees go week "Don't do that, I don't think I'll be able to stop"
"Who said anything about stopping?" You say and go back to kiss him even more passionately this time.
“There’s a lot of people here, my room is upstairs, would you perhaps want to-“
“Yes.” You immediately say. You don’t care about anything anymore, you’d let your future self deal with the consequences of today’s actions. The only thing that has been lingering in your mind is how good he’d feel inside of you.
The moment you’re finally alone in his room, he lifts you up, swinging you around and kissing you. It was like a dream. Namjoon was everything you wanted. Your reluctance about getting with him didn’t matter any more, the tingly feeling in your stomach overtook every single bit of hesitation you had. You needed him.
“God, you’re lovely” he exhaled
He looks at you as he sinks you down on the bed. Planting a soft kiss before his hands quickly begun to peel away clothes, yanking his belt loose, fumbling hurriedly at his trousers.
You look at his lips tracing your skin and the faint moisture left behind, you look at his muscly arms as he lifts you up and sinks you down again, you look at him looking at you, with eyes brighter than the sun itself. Was this all a dream?
When your dress was finally off he undoes your bra clasp on the way down. Slowly planting kisses on your collarbone, the tops of your breasts, your sternum, and you arched you back as you were needy for more.
His lips finally reach your nipples .Your boobs smooth under his hands, your nipple firm under his tongue, and there, that makes you squirm again, a little more insistently this time.
“Fuck, I’m so fucking wet right now, I feel it” You moan
You see him raise an eyebrow. A vivid smirk painted on his face “Let’s check, shall we?”
He splays his hand low across your belly, and the first brush of his thumb over your clit makes you breathe in sharply and him forget to breathe at all.
“I’m your friend?” He breaths in, his voice dangerously low
“Oh come on” You manage to say in between moans “what was I supposed to tell Jimin?”
His strokes and flicks are light and teasing, his thumb carefully circling around your clit. He gives you a slow, constant, unyielding pressure that makes your breath come up short, makes your toes curl in the effort not to move.
“I’m gonna fuck the word ‘friend’ right out of your pretty little mouth” he covers your mouth with an intense kiss before slipping two fingers of his free hand inside of you, and you makes a noise like triumph and want all wrapped up together. If his fingers felt like this, you can’t imagine how his dick felt like.
“Hmm?” He doesn’t look up, he keeps his eyes on his hands, on you, spread out beneath him “You like that baby?”
God, just the way the word 'baby' sounded coming from his mouth could make you come right this second. You look at him, his eyes look as hungry as his voice sounded. This dude was out of this world.
“Please Namjoon, I want it, I want you inside of me right now”
Namjoon lowered his underwear, and simply pressed his hard member on your slit. You could feel his balls softly caressing your clit as he made subtle movements while kissing you. “Such a needy little thing” he teases “Tell me how bad you want my cock inside of you”
“Oh..” you moan “I’d do anything, please…give it to me… fuck me like you own me” you whined as you used your pussy to caress his length up and down. He seemed to enjoy they way you touched him.
“Fuck y/n… that feels so good” he rests his forehead on yours.
“Imagine what my inside will feel then” you whisper in his ear “I’m such a tight good girl” you move your mouth in front of his, bitting his bottom lip as he growled when he felt your movement grow faster
“Fucking hell” he immobilized your body with his hands and pressed you down to the bed. He immediately shoves his dick inside you, filing you up to the brim before staying there for a couple of seconds and then pulling out completely. That movement made your vagina crave to be filled all the way up again.
“More” you whine, a dopey expression all over your face. You were so needy of him, but you didn’t care.
He lowered his left hand towards your thigh and gave it a big squeeze, kissing you aggressively while doing so. He quickly braced himself back into you, you felt your walls completely wrap around his member. It felt magical.
His strokes long and steady in the beginning. Every time he went in and out completely you felt the pit of your stomach burn in pleasure. Namjoon was doing everything right, you can’t lie to yourself, this is the best sex you’ve ever had. Normally with other guys you don’t even come close to coming, but now, you feel yourself trying not to do so.
“You like my dick being inside of you baby?” He plants a small kiss on your neck and goosebumps run down your spine.
‘Like’ was nowhere near good enough of a word to explain how much the sensation of him thrusting his hard member in and out of you made you feel. “I love it Namjoon… I just love it…”
Your words must’ve turned Namjoon even more on, because his pace immediately started becoming faster and sloppier. Every time your skin touched a loud sound could be heard. Namjoon was thrusting deeper and deeper into you, and every time he’d fill you up completely you’d cry out his name.
“Ah, I like my name so much better when you fucking moan it like that” he says and started shoving his dick inside of you like crazy. You could tell he was close to coming, and so were you.
It wasn’t long until you felt your walls clenching and your toes curling. The sensation overtook all of your body, it was mad… your heart beat uncontrollable. Namjoon made you feel a completely new range of emotions.
“Ah y/n, I can feel you cumming all over my dick” his voice cracky, You could see how turned on he was by all of this, by you. “Fuck” he shoved harder “You’re so” harder “fucking hot”
Namjoon stopped and pulled out immediately spreading his cum all over your tummy. The sight was breathtaking, you’ve never found a man so attractive while coming before, but then, Namjoon is no ordinary man.
He quickly grabs a couple of tissues and wipes you clean before laying on top of you again, placing another soft kiss this time. His hand playing with your hair. You were both naked and sweaty and a mess but it felt so magical. You wrapped your hands around his broad shoulders, pulling him even closer to you. You didn’t want even a centimeter of distance between you and him.
He suddenly stopped kissing you and simply stared at your eyes. After a minute or two, or maybe three, you're not really sure, time didn't exist right now, he tacked a string of hair behind your left ear.
“Y/n, let me take you on a date. Please. I know you don’t normally go out with guys like me, but I swear I’ll make it worth your while-“
“Park Jihoon and the little funny guitar. How does that sound? Or are you too good for the shrieking shack now?” You chuckled
“I’d love that” he smiled, making your heart melt a little.
