ZENITH ENTERTAINMENT TO PRESS CHARGES AGAINST FABLE SASAENG — OCTOBER 23, 2024
In a landmark first for the company, Zenith Entertainment has announced their intention to take legal action against one of the many Fable sasaengs. Their cryptic statement, posted to Fable’s official Instagram account, alleges assault charges against an anonymous person known only as A. According to the company, the recent results of an investigation conducted with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency link A with a case in the jurisdiction of the Gunsan City Police Department from earlier this year.
Speculation was rife in the comment section, with fans asking for more information on the situation, what exactly this has to do with stalking Fable, and when the next comeback will be. The comments were disabled two hours after the statement was uploaded. None of the Fable members have provided any further information on the topic.

idk guys i think we should all let people have fun and not bully them for having hobbies on the website where we all talk about our weird hobbies. if something isn't your cup of tea just don't interact with it but why are we all up in arms? i've seen so many unique and unusual rp blogs that i dont see how a jesus blog is any different.

I did not say "fuck that noise" over forty years ago to traditional expectations for women, only to be told one quarter of the way through the twenty-first century that I "need" to do anything.

you know, we're taught about the horrors of war in school, but sometimes those lessons aren't when it sinks in. sometimes it's watching your friend sitting on the floor of your dorm remember he legally has to sign up for the draft. and he gives up and calls his mom instead, but then it hits you that if the government snaps and pushes the metaphorical big red button, it's your friend that's getting sent out there. your friend that doesn't like to be alone in social situations. your friend with the space themed bedspread and mickey mouse jacket and stuffed tiger and fluffy fold-up chair. and it hits you that these people that get sent out there if the government changes their mind one day aren't names without faces or vice versa. they're the kids you went to elementary school with. they're not just the boys that made fun of you; they're the kids that sat with you when no one else would; the kid that made you laugh because he wanted to. my english teacher senior year told us about this, when the military branches set up tables in the cafeteria the same month we read The Things They Carried. but in high school we were only focused on what came next. the military was just one of those options, and we were barely eighteen, and no one really talked about the draft. but now that we're adults, I'm sticking a poster to my dorm wall while my best friend drops his name into the world's deadliest raffle.

This doesn't mean we should just accept more and more wasteful tech practices either. Proof of work cryptocurrency, for example, was/is also horrendous in terms of power draw.
On the AI thing specifically, I think I heard that actually running the larger models is also pretty bad, so training cost is not the only concern. Even if runtime cost gets low, we can expect that companies will always be training more and more power intensive models to compete with each other, so like, sure the model is "permanent" but its replacement has to be done by next quarter forever.
My point is that wasting compute resources, and thus wasting a not negligible amount of water to cool the servers, *is* bad! Sure there are bigger battles, but the AI industry is still forming itself. If it becomes unpopular enough, it might collapse, which would not only be good environmentally but many people here want that outcome because AI has stolen their work and threatens many livelihoods. Environmental allegations are a useful tool in this fight, and imo not even a deceptive one like you're suggesting.
I simply do not believe you actually care about the environment if youre using water consumption statistics for ai as an "own" while you still eat meat and especially beef. "it costs a million liters of water to train an ai for a year!" if you include water used for crops grown specifically to feed animals and not humans it costs upwards of five times that just to raise a single cow.
