He leaves a note saying he‘ll be back soon? Three terrified bats AND a supe crashing through the roof of a 7/11.

Casually mentioning he‘ll be going overseas to check up on a lead? Surprise! Nightwing‘s going the same way! What a coincidence!

Jason pushes someone off the roof? “Don’t worry Jaylad, I know it was an accident!!!!”

The next gig takes place at an abandoned warehouse? “Explosives whomst?? No, Jason, of course I didn’t scout the area beforehand. Don’t be absurd. Your bombs?? Oh, those were yours?”

Look, it’s not that Jason doesn’t appreciate a demonstration of how much they care. But he’s getting seriously fed up with the level of overprotectiveness everyone’s displaying.

Although, in retrospect, he could have handled this whole thing better than having an open spat with Bruce and then disappearing on them for two months straight. Oops.

(In his defense, Kori got them cards for a once-in-life-time-space-opera.)

[Robby] places his phone back in his pocket and looks up to see Jack heading his way. He must be starting his shift and since he hasn’t yet started on any cases, it seems Robby gets to be his first. Lucky him.

“What happened?” Jack asks when he reaches him.

“Overhead lamp. And here I thought we were friends but it just went and attacked me for no reason.”

“No reason? You sure about that?”

“I mean maybe I was flirting with another lamp and it got jealous. Who knows. You know me, I just can’t help myself.”

Jack laughs and puts on gloves before reaching up and looking at the wound. Robby can’t seem to focus on anything more than the feeling of Jack’s hands in his hair, even if all he’s doing is moving it out of the way to get a better look at the cut.

“Well, you definitely need stitches. Shouldn’t take too long. Let me go get a suture kit and I’ll be right back.”

Robby nods and watches him walk off, his eyes maybe staring at his ass for longer than he should.

When he’s back, Jack asks, “You want something for the pain?” as he starts cleaning up the wound.

“I’ll be fine.”

“Okay, tough guy,” Jack replies with a laugh. Robby smiles but knows it’s less about that and more that he doesn’t want to be numb, that he wants to be able to feel Jack’s hands on him.

“Happy birthday,” Jack says as he starts suturing.

“You remembered.”

“Of course. Why would I not?”

It’s a good question. Robby’s not sure why he’s surprised that Jack remembers. With how long they’ve known each other, the number of birthdays they’ve spent together, it really is no surprise.

Only it is for some reason. Robby doesn’t like to try and dig into these thoughts – these feelings – all too often. But he thinks that there’s always just this part of him that’s surprised Jack cares about him at all.

i’ve decided that i’m gonna try and save up my own money for fan expo bc i added up the price of the ticket and how much hayden’s photo op is and it’s like a little over $300 and i don’t want my parents to spend that much on me even if they said it’d be a graduation present. and also rn i already have like $147 dollars that i haven’t spent so it can go towards that and i just need to figure out how to get more money by like august or even late july 🙏 lowkey might get a job bc i need to anyway and i’m REALLYYY determined to go!!! ik the photo op might sell out soon so i need to be mindful of that as well

hey everybody 🥳

so last year i promised myself that i would do a wayward_sherlock ao3 wrapped to prove to myself that i’ve grown as a writer and that i’ve found a sense of community and um. it did not disappoint. (more below the cut)

my overall hits from 2022 to 2023 went up by almost 78k.

my kudos went up by 6.5k.

my user subscriptions went up by 140.

my word count went up by. it went up by 244,902.

i just wanted to say how grateful i am for all of the people who find and read my silly little fics. a lot of what i write is dealing with stuff going on in my head or in my life, and it means so so much to me that im able to touch so many people and maybe make them feel a little bit less alone.

i know numbers shouldn’t matter. im a fic writer, not a best selling author or anything like that. but even seeing the count of people i’ve interacted with, directly or not, go up by even one means so much to me i can’t even begin to express it. im contributing to our little community of people who love these boys that i’m writing about, and who love something so innately human that they want to share, and that, to me, is worth more than anything else in the world.

this year was not the easiest for me. ive been struggling with depression for a few years now, and while this year was nowhere near the lows that ive had in the past (cough last year cough), i still had to fight to make it through. writing helped me with that more than i can begin to even comprehend, and to see that i accomplished so much this year in spite of my mental health problems is. well. kind of astonishing.

anyway. this is my long winded way of saying THANK YOU to every single person who has commented on, interacted with, or even just read one of my fics. you guys are all amazing and i love you. im baking a big batch of cookies and will be giving one to every single one of you with a big huge hug and a kiss on the forehead. 💗💗🫂🫂

can’t wait to see what we do in 2024 !!! xx

theorising (translation: being delusional): heizou said he’ll be back for the big show at the end of the event, so we’ll definitely see him then, however, it’s very possible we’ll see him before then as well because he’s also going to look for clues about this dog what’s-it that the traveller told him about, which means he might get some leads or information while he’s out and about in ritou and then come back to find us to share it before the end of the event. so. yeah.

Okay so I’m already planning on revealing in my next D&D session that in recompense of the party fucking up his plans the BBEG has taken the party’s favorite baker NPC & the bard’s sister hostage, and is using their lives as bargaining chips to get them to hand over the important prodigy conjuration wizard the party freed from the BBEG’s accomplices (a dying organized crime syndicate turned radical cult of domestic terrorists), and as extra spice he’s also taken the baker’s one year old son from her and is using him as a propaganda piece to drum up the fears of the public about the criminal syndicate he’s secretly working with in order to support his political campaign & the martial law he’s instated after effectively assasinating the former Captain of The Guard & taking her place (he’s also the guy that sent said baby’s father and the rest of his found family/adventuring party to their deaths with the exception of Prodigy Wizard to find the campaign’s magical macguffin) BUT all this to say I think for the oomph I want I should draw art of the propaganda news sketch of the BBEG evilly holding the baby

I graduated from grad school with my masters in educational counseling and my credential to (hopefully) become a counselor in a K-12 school. I also went to Japan with my older brother to celebrate said graduation. :-)

hey honest question, did anybody have GOOD stuff happen to them in 2024? cause it was really bad for me and for most people i know, so it would be nice to hear about anything that's been going WELL for any of you. even if it's small stuff. just to know there's light out there.
