SungWon Cho’s voice acting range is actually just fucking astounding to me. Every time I figure out a character is voiced by him I get the most insane whiplash. Like

I understand that The Amazing Digital Circus is ripe for "what if the main character snapped and killed everybody" crackfic, but y'all, if Pomni went off the deep end she would not be your sexy glitchcore murderwife. She'd do it screaming and flailing, and it'd make Tom and Jerry sound effects the whole time she's killing you.

It helped me a lot that the beginning started out very similar, but most of the video length is spent in-depth about support system, relapsing, and recovery.

I pushed Blue's art toward Media/Phone addiction. No decent parents would ever give their child a "mushroom", but most will stick an iPad down in front of them. It hit too hard for me because one of the kids in my care, stared at some Coco melon-looking YT kid video until a tear rolled down her cheek, and she still did not blink.

(How do we teach Gen Alpha that, boredom is normal? That it is fine to be scared, you don't have to immediately distract yourself from unpleasant feelings?)

I am not sure why I am so fixate on the kiwi from Nuggets. I didn't think about it for years, but the moment someone mention that AvAddiction teaser looks similar to it, the memories flood back.

CINEMATIC PARALLELS

The game Mouthwashing, released September 26, 2024, features a scene in which a character attempts to disinfect a wound using a nonstandard liquid on the basis that it contains alcohol. It does not go well.

Months later on December 12, the Bridge Kids episode "One Man's Trash" features a scene in which a character attempts to disinfect a wound using a nonstandard liquid on the basis that it contains alcohol. It does not go well.

A simple coincidence of tangentially-related plot beats in completely unrelated media? An act of inspiration on Bridge Kids' part? An act of temporal espionage on Mouthwashing's part? Hell if I know.

Is Jimmy genetically inferior to Fugger? Very possibly.

Okay, watching the new episode and I'm gonna say this: Satan has by far the best design of the sins. Not only does he actually look like the sin of Wraith, but unlike Mammon, he actually looks threatening and unlike everyone else, he ISN'T (From what I can see) overdesigned.

See Vi, you CAN be good at character design if you try enough.

Also, can I just say he's hot as Hell? I want him to hold me.

I just think the indie animation crowd could learn a thing or two from Homestar Runner.

(and before you say "BUT THEY HAD A TELLTALE GAME AND ALEX HIRSCH ON" it bears mentioning that Telltale was a much smaller company back then and it made sense as a way of returning the favor, given the Chaps had done tributes to LucasArts games, and Hirsch was just a one-time thing and they didn't make a big deal about it, plus the whole reason Matt got to work on Gravity Falls was because of HSR and not the other way around)

Every other week I see folks complaining that this or that new web series is trying too hard to be edgy and memeable, why are we giving money to the worst effluvium of the Newgrounds generation, etc., etc., and then I actually watch whatever they're complaining about and it's literally just a mid-1990s-to-early-2000s Saturday morning cartoon with a bigger animation budget. Like, if these people think The Amazing Digital Circus is edgy tryhard bullshit, any randomly selected episode of The Tick (1994) would probably make their heads explode.

I did not have much faith at first, but seeing so many fans express their belief and hope, it makes me want hope too. If Nuggets, a simple wordless animation, can leave a sinking feeling in my gut (not from feeling insulted), then why was I so sure that AvA could not?

Nether wart, potion abuse, and recently, gambling too? Let see how it all turns out.
