Divina “Div/Divvy” Clearwater Galanis, 17; youngest of the twins by one hour and five minutes

From Seattle, Wa, the Galanis twins are the children of Julissa Galanis and Micah Clearwater who met when they were 19 at the University of Seattle. Both were students in the medical program with Julissa pursuing neurology and Micah choosing pediatrics when it came time for them to pick their specialty for their residency. After completing their schooling, they lived comfortabily as civil partners in Seattle where they raised their two children, twins Kent and Divina. Micah was a member of the Quinault Indian Nation through both parents—his father full Quinault and his mother half Quinault. Because he did not settle down with any of the young women his parents tried to set him up with, Micah became estranged from his mother and father up until his premature death caused by a brain aneurysm. When he passed, the grandparents offered to take Julissa and the twins in despite how poorly they had treated her in the past but Julissa decided to raise her children on solo. However, she too became ill and when the twins were 11 she relocated to her hometown in southern California and moved the family in with her brother Erick who became a pseudo-father to the twins and helped raise them.

The middle names for the twins are honorary, Kalaloch being a place of great importance to Micah’s people and his favorite place to go as a child and Clearwater being his family name and an area of great beauty surrounding the river Clearwater.
