WELCOME HOME WEBSITE GUIDE.

This is a handy-dandy guide to traversing the Welcome Home Website, whether it's your first time or after a major update!

Disclaimer: This is updated with only the current information for what's on the website. Earlier stuff that has been taken down is not on this guide.

There are currently TEN (10) main pages on the Website. You'll want to go through them all before going through any subpages or secret pages. You can technically do this in any order you want but here's what I suggest:

Homepage > What's Welcome Home? > The Neighborhood > About > Media > Merchandise > The Playfellow Exhibition > Stickers > News > Guestbook

Afterwards, we can get into the subpages and all the nitty-gritty secrets! There are three types of subpages: 1) Y/W/X/O/V/E Pages, 2) Wally's Drawings, and 3) Bug Recordings.

Y/W/X/O/V/E Pages*: These are the only pages without clickable links anywhere. You get to these pages by scrambling the letters Y, W, X, O, V, E and adding them to the website link (ex. www.clownillustration.com/eovwxy). These letters come from places on the Website's main pages where it appears the letters "glitched" out of place. These pages don't have any specific order:

EOVWXY, YXWVOE (Duet), YWVOEV, VOYWEX, WOXYVE

*WARNING: After the latest update, the "glitched" letters seem to no longer be out of place (for the most part) and the page links now all end with the word "deleted." This might mean these pages will be deleted in the next update.

2. Wally's Drawings: Across the site, there are GIFs of doodles being made on the main pages. These are supposed to be Wally drawing on the website, kind of like the drawings he leaves in the guestbook, except these are clickable links to recordings of Wally's voice. These pages have an order:

3. Bug Recordings: Also across the site are GIFs of little bugs that are clickable links. These lead to video recordings of two of the characters talking to one another until one of them brings up Wally's name at the end, cutting off the dialogue. The videos are supposed to be from Wally's perspective. These pages have a specific order:

Miscellaneous

There is a GIF of a bug hiding under the guest counter at the bottom of the page. Be warned, there is not a link on this bug!

If you zoom out enough, there are GIFs of Wally's eyes watching you outside the Website's borders!

The Neighborhood

Character Pages

All of the neighbor’s bios have a button underneath that says “Go back,” in colorful text. Except Wally’s button says “Goodbye,” in black text.

All of the neighbor’s bios are in past tense (“Julie was a rainbow monster”/”Eddie was a mail carrier”), aside from Wally’s which is in the present tense (“Wally is the most prominent character”).

Underneath Home, there is a black background with a white swirl on it. With every update, the swirl gets bigger. You can see this by double-clicking the map and opening the image in a new tab.

At the top of Sally's bio, there is text that says, "Reverse this image of Sally."

So Below

So Below is a secret page you can access by clicking the black space beneath Home's drawing on the map.

You

You is a secret page you can access by clicking the word "you" at the top of the page in the phrase "Even if you don't live there."

There is a drawing of a flower on the image in Wally's bio that leads to the "Will" recording.

Phone is a secret page you can access by clicking the red button on the last image of the “It's-For-You!" Talking Telephone Toy.

The Playfellow Exhibition

Staff Only

Staff Only is a secret page that can be accessed by clicking the word “answer” in the fourth paragraph below the image carousel in the phrase "I still have so many questions to answer..."

This leads to a page of an image of scribbled text, most notably the words, “CODE IS 5 CHARACTERS! WORKSHEET IS 5 QUESTIONS- KEY??” Clicking on the image leads to another image of a safe.

Clicking on the image leads to a Guest Area where you must enter a password. The password is ‘BSPJW’ based on the answers to the worksheet found in the image carousel on “The Playfellow Exhibition” page, aka Barnaby, Sally, Poppy, Julie, and Wally. The initials of the characters’ names from the answers are the 5 characters needed for the password.

This leads to the Staff Only page. The header reads, "The Playfellow Exhibition" and "Can you hear me?" written multiple times. Under that is text that says,

"I had a dream when I began working on the Playfellow Exhibition. Wally Darling was sitting at the foot of my bed with a rotary phone in front of him, ringing away. It looked just like the little toy phone we were restoring for the exhibit. It kept ringing. Wally stared at me like he was waiting for me to pick up the phone. Just staring, unblinking. The phone ringing and ringing. I couldn't move. I couldn't figure out how to move and pick up the phone. He kept waiting. I couldn't pick up the phone.

​"I keep getting phone calls, now. Or at least, I assume that's what's happening. I keep hearing it ringing. All day, sometimes. I check my phone and there's no new messages. I thought maybe some of the site staff were pranking me, but I tore up the workspace and couldn't find another phone that might be ringing. All that was there were the toys for the exhibit, and obviously those couldn't be ringing. But I kept hearing it anyway. The phone ringing and ringing.

​“The more I work, the more questions I have. Why didn't any of the site staff I worked with remember this show? Even the ones who grew up in the 70s? Why can't I find any files on the Playfellow Workshop? Why isn't there a single TV guide ad saying what network or time the show was on? I keep digging and digging. I've poured over every recovery the WHRP has given me access to, every inch of their website, and the things I find make less and less sense. If I didn't know better I'd say everyone was coming together to pull an elaborate prank on me. I can still hear the phone ringing now. ​I don't know how to answer the phone. ​I need to answer the phone."

There is blacked-out text written over this that says, "Ring-ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please. Ring-ring. Ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please." six times and then, "Ring. Ring ring. Won’t you please pick up?"

At the bottom of the page there is text that says, “It’s in here.” Clicking on this just leads to the 404 Error page.

As of the July 22, 2023 update, the Guestbook is now closed, but you can still view all the precious signatures HERE.

Many of the signatures have drawings beside them from Wally. These don't have links, but if you open the image in another tab, you can read their file names. The names are Wally communicating to the person who left the signature in response to whatever they said.

Y/W/X/O/V/E Pages: On Page 5, the signature left by Silly mc Billy has a drawing that says, "I love you." The letter "V" is out of place.

My sister and I have spent literal hours combing through the site and have found so much!

This is a guide to all of the hidden links! I've also done my best to tell you how to find them yourself (I had so much doing the bug hunt)

I have tried my best to keep all descriptions spoiler free, so if you just want help finding them this is the guide for you!

Crack The Code, a bunch of hints toward the password. (to get to Password Please just click on the image)

The password is found via finishing the Worksheet in the gallery of the Exhibition Page,

The password is the first letter of each answer, spelling out BSPJW (it does have to be capitalized, that was heart breaking to find out after putting so much effort into a hard answer...)

The gallery on the Staff Only Page has a lot of hard to read documents, but most of them will give you a description upon hovering your mouse over them.

Something interesting I've noticed about conversion stories is many people seem to have both a rebellious streak and a deep-seated, insatiable desire to learn everything.

One of my shul's well-respected members (who runs the hebrew/judaism class that will start soon) talked about how, when he lived in my town, he would sneak out of the house just to go to shul. That's what I'm doing now, and it's funny (I'm not sneaking out per se, but I am also not telling anybody I'm going to shul). There's an aspect of free-spiritedness that I notice in many converts, and it's fascinating to hear each of their stories. And you know the funniest part? They sound like my story.

For this one I will speak as creator

This is infos I've shared before on my site, and I got the greenlight to share it here !

Reminder that @neonross was the og creator of Out of Bounds and I am merely one of the artist and writers ( and alternatively the lore gremlin that make sure everything is smooth good lore lol ( so for lore clarification yeh I'm the good person to ask haha))

So here are the "laws" of the multiverse and how it works in wttmv specifically !

Those rules apply only in our story, but anyone who wants to use those concepts are welcome, of course ! Neon Ross's og intent was to have rules flexible enough for people to make characters and have fun with the concepts, but we don't mean to be an autority of any kind and ruin people's fun... Anyway, explanation time

It's not really "laws" so much as rules for ourselves and for our story, to give it nuances and stakes and the right amount of lore scratching complexity

Some characters however might tell you that these are laws lmao

✨Out of Bounds ✨

___-Lore Guide-___

Out of Bounds (OOB) is a realm existing beyond the multiverse, operating by its own rules and devoid of time. This guide provides insight into OOB's nature, its role in the multiverse, and the mechanics governing its interactions.

Nature of Out of Bounds

Definition :

• OOB is a space outside of alternate universes, akin to the Void Realm in Towags where forgotten characters and places reside.

• Awareness of this space is limited, known only to those who reside within or encounter its inhabitants.

Television :

• Floating televisions within OOB display AUs, acting as viewports or portals for interaction.

• Televisions serve as a primary means for Multiversers to observe and interact with AUs. ( While it is the primary way, note that there are exceptions and other ways to travel )

Shows :

• We call "show" the stories within the multiverse. Includes the Original, Variants, Alternate Universes.

• The Original cannot be touched or interacted with by anyone.

• Variants are copies of the original with very minor changes (art style, design, head canons). They can be interacted with on varrying degree, depending on the creator of the variant will.

• AUs are copies of Welcome Home with major or noticeable changes, from the story, to the characters and their designs.

Vintage Tapes :

• AUs are stored within vintage tapes, with the film inside representing the universe's timeline.

• Tapes categorize AUs into Fixed and Flexible, depending on the level of interaction allowed by the creators of each AUs.

Interference Mechanics :

• Interfering with Fixed AUs poses risks, as altering their storylines can lead to universe corrupt and/or collapse.

• Flexible AUs allow more interaction, often featuring crossovers and Y/N scenarios.

Out of Bound Spaces

Channels :

• Spaces integral to the multiverse system, including the Observer's TV room, the Archives, and Admin's film room.

Shows :

• The AUs themselves, contained in the multiverse, then OOB

Lost Media :

• Spaces not categorized as channels or tapes, such as the Keeper's domaine, Trader's space, and Stitcher's atelier. (Often time those are kind of like shells of dead/collapsed/modified AU, or pocket dimensions)

Pillars of Creation :

• Vast space outside of the multiverse, a galaxy-like zone full of stars, that is said to be where the creators of AUs reside. Very few characters go so far in the OOB.

In between :

• The void between the AUs. It is devoid of breathable air, often dark and lightless as well. Some multiversers are unaffected by the lack of air, but stay careful ! We don't know what lurks or leaks in the in-between

Note : this diagram applies to wttmv, but feel free to use I with your characters if you want ! Just like all of those rules, we made those to help make the story as a whole

Out of Bound Inhabitants

Natives of OOB :

• The Out of Bound is often said to have a mind of its own... It will sometimes create its own variants of the core cast, for reasons still obscures to this day. Notable characters born from the OOB : Observer, Courier, Messenger

"Refugies"

• Cast or OC characters that had their worlds destroyed/corrupted/collapsed, and who are left to wander in the multiverse. Most often they will end up in Peacekeeper's domaine until they can be rehomed in a flexible tape or new universe, or adapt to the Out of Bounds.

• A character that adapts to the Out of Bounds will then be called "Multiverser" along with the native of OOB

• Characters considered "refugies turned multiverser" in wttmv : Peacekeeper, Filante, Trader, ShopKeeper, Watcheye, Stitcher, Croupier

Multiversers :

• Multiversers are the inhabitants of the Out of Bounds. Often times, they are anomalies that have developped specific abilities allowing them to reside or survive in the Out of Bounds. Those abilities often includes being able to travel to multiple flexible tapes, but not always. A multiverser will almost always be a variant of a cast character, and rarely, if not ever, a y/n or fan oc. (If you wonder why y/n and ocs are excluded from being multiversers specifically, it's because Y/N is at its core a you self insert, but *you* are supposed to be viewers in the story. It's fine when in a pocket universe like Keeper's and Trader, a y/n can exist there, but in the oob it could causes some problems of logic with viewer influence and control, or the focus of the story could go astray to fit a y/n, which is not a story we want to tell. It kinda goes for ocs too)

Ik, ik, it's a bit of a hassle to go search and look and all. Tbh the site is kind of a way to give a bit of a treat for the really big fans who are ready to go on a separate site to get lore lmao /lh

But now I get to ramble here too ! Hurray !

TLDR :

OOB is big and weird. The AUs and Variants can be interacted with only if allowed by the creators. Multiversers are the weird cast variants living in the oob. The OOB is kinda like an onion, it has layers. Most characters always stay in the multiverse part.

my speculative fanfic of how sally encountered 'it' that she talks about in the happy haunting to boo and yours storybook record + how sally deals with 'it' (because you can't tell me that sally only had one encounter with 'it'):

it had started like like every day before today. it should had ended like every day after. it should have been another end of a beautiful day in home.

sally keeps quiet as she looks out her window. sally just came back to her house, after walking julie home. julie insisted she's fine by herself, but sally persisted. sally doesn't regret it, but sally knows that it knows. and it no doubt is angry. as she looks down from her window, sally sees the nearby bushes rustling. that rustling is not from wind, for sally didn't felt a cool breeze blowing when walking back to her house earlier from julie's. before it was completely dark.

it began at dusk, when the last shred of light from the star that sally can daresay almost rivals her own dazzling light was gone. sally was leaving dear sweet poppy's home late due to a conversation after a wonderful dinner that went longer than planned. when sally left, the leaves of the trees of the forest rustled, the flowers are standing and perky, and crickets chirped.

sally pulls away from the window and closes it. she now has her back against the wall. a part of her hopes that tonight, everything will be different. that tonight will be like all other nights in home like before. sally tells herself this over and over again as she hugs herself tightly, with the ever-growing heavy thuds of it approaching her house.

it only occurred to sally when she was only halfway to her home that she wasn't feeling the cool breeze flowing pass her face, the flowers were wilting -almost dead given their darken colors- and that the cricket chirps all stopped unexpectedly. crickets while quiet in the winter, should be playing their song in the summer.

as the heavy thuds from outside came closer to her house. sally can faintly smell the decay from her close window; the odor is foul and strong to where it can penetrate through solid walls from afar.

it had sally pausing in her steps. the rustling of the leaves in the trees stopped in sync with her. sally hesitatingly took a few steps back before stopping. the rustling began as she walked, and ended as she stopped. sally took one step forward, and heard a snapping noise. sally felt a jolt run up her body, but told herself she stepped on a twig. when she looked down, sally saw she stepped on nothing.

sally soon hears the heavy thuds outside her house. she can now fully smell the putrid odor.

it took sally only a mere second to break out into a sprint.

sally swallows the lump in her throat as the heavy thuds comes to abrupt stop, and the odor quickly vanishes as if it never existed. sally waits for it to make its next move. sally wonders if it will keep lurking outside her house like many other nights, or if it trying to wait for the right moment to climb up her house to her window and break the rules just to get her for taking away its next meal.

it follow, because of course it follows. sally heard the fast-pace thuds following her and the unnatural rustling of the leaves. sally could faintly smell something rotten reaching her nose. sally sprints as fast as her legs can until reaching her house, when an idea struck.

sally drops her hands and closes her eyes. she takes a deep breathe in and out. if it's going to be the latter, sally has to be prepare. if it's the former...well, it has to remember who its dealing with! sally is going to give a reminder to it what she is. who she is still.

'scra-scra-scra.' 'scra-scra-scra.'

sally exhales one more time as it climbs up her house.

"gruc. gruc. gruc."

it was ages ago when sally broke through the atmosphere to the planet she made her current home at. but sally remembered her plan. she planned for everyone to see how bright she shines, in the figurative sense. as one playwright wrote, all the world's a stage, and sally wants the audience to see her brilliance. tonight, sally decided to show her current audience how bright she shines in the literal sense.

sally stood up and opens her eyes. she can soon feel the warmth of her body taking on a physical manifestation of light. sally stands with her arms out open, and she can hear the loud hissing of it, and the heavy thuds of it falling and running back to wherever it came from.

it when expose to light, sally learned, shriveled. the form it took when weaken, from what sally could see from her dazzling brilliance, frightens her. it is a form she wasn't expecting for something otherworldly. it had sally scare and questioning everything she thought she knew of her current home.

sally stays in her position until her legs tremble, and she collapses onto her knees. sally stares down at the floor, and feels her warmth growing colder, and sees her strong light becoming a soft glow. sally stares at her close window.

it was the start of the many nights in home that sally grew to endure and adapt to. in this small, charming little town, there was something lurking among home, no one knowing of it until now.

sally thinks how it's just another end to a beautiful day at home.

The biggest mistake we make is that we build our homes in other people. We build those homes and we decorate them with the love and care and respect that makes us feel safe at the end of the day. We invest in other people, and we evaluate our self-worth based on how much those homes welcome us. But what many don’t realize is that when you build your home in other people, you give them the power to make you homeless. When those people walk away, those homes walk away with them, and all of a sudden, we feel empty because everything that we had within us, we put into them. We trusted someone else with pieces of us. The emptiness we feel doesn’t mean we have nothing to give, or that we have nothing within us. It’s just that we built our home in the wrong place..!

TELEVISION AU PART: 6

You place your bag down and pull out your phone. with an sigh, you pulled up your contacts and called your boss. After a few rings, they picked up. You pressed the phone to your ear and leaned on your front door.

"Yo, Boss man, I'm not gonna make it into work, came down with a cold." You say, surprisingly, your boss understands and you hang up the phone. "Ya'll lucky I'm homies with my boss." You say, placing your phone on the coffee table and sighed.

"What game do you want to play? Something indoors preferably" Julie immediately lit up. "Oh! Oh! we can play-" Julie paused, something indoors? She hadn't thought about that. "We can play telephone!" Julie piped up again as you walked over to your TV stand that had shelves, you took out a game that had 'New Phone, Who Dis?' On it.

"We can play New Phone Who Dis." You waved the board/card game around. "How do you play?" Frank asked as you placed the game down.

"The rules are like cards against Humanity." You pointed to another card game on the shelf. They looked lost, very confused. "And you don't know what that is, do you." Everyone shook their head.

"Okay, so basically, the first person who judges will draw a prompt or an Inbox." You say, taking the top off the box and taking the cards that read 'Inbox' and placing them in a deck as everyone surrounded the coffee table.

"And everyone will get seven cards each." You took the cards that spelled 'reply' and shuffled them, handing out 7 for each puppet and yourself.

"Once the 'Inbox' is drawn, every player expects the player who drew it will have to pick a response card from their deck and give it to the player who drew the Inbox and pick a new response card from the remaining deck."

You placed the remaining Reply cards next to the Inbox cards. "If the person who drew the Inbox card thinks your reply is the funniest, the Inbox card goes to you, once all the reply cards are finished the games over."

"Who ever has the most Inbox cards win." You say, the puppets still looked mostly lost, but some of them had a determined look on their face. "Okay, you'll never learn with me telling you, I'll go first." You drew an Inbox card and read it out loud.

"I wasn't lying about being Gluten-free. I'll have you know that I've been on the can all morning." You read before placing it down. "Now you reply with something you have." You say, everyone took their cards and thought about their deck.

You looked to everyone in the room. Wally was sitting across from you his face scrunched up as he flipped through his cards eventually settling on one.

Eddie was sitting next to Frank, his face turning into a confused smile as he picked a card.

Barnaby on the other side of the table from Frank and Eddie sighed as if he didnt have a good card as he picked a card.

Frank picked out a card, doing double takes at the others they didn't pick. Julie sitting next to Wally and Frank looked at the card, she picked and looked at it, slightly confused.

Howdy next to Barnaby and Poppy, picked his card confidently, watching the other cards. Poppy next to Howdy and Sally, looked at her cards confused before picking a card. And Sally beside Poppy and Wally, confidently picked a card.

You picked up the cards, and shuffled them, reading them outloud. So far everyone had admitted which ones were their cards.

'Give me a sec to compose a text explaining how little I care' was Wally

'Yeah, sometimes it really be like that, huh' was Eddie, he said he "didn't have any cards that would fit the context."

'I've known you since you were in diapers. You were always saying the craziest stuff' was Barnaby saying he "couldn't decide which one to use"

'Focus on yourself babe. <3' was Howdy

'You need to sit down, take a Xanax and relax' was Julie, she said she "didn't know what a Xanax was, but the rest seemed to fit"

'Good for you...?' Was Frank, they said "it matched the confusion they were feeling"

'Really, Carol?' Was Sally who proudly said, "I don't know what Gluten free is but it sounds silly"

'Sorry my grandma says your rotten and granny knows what's up' was Poppy, saying she "didn't know what her other cards meant."

You snickered at Wally's card. Passing him the Inbox card, before composing yourself. "Now the next person to my left takes an Inbox card." You turned to your left, making Eddie take a card.

"Are Dentist supposed to ask you to take your clothes off? A little concerned right now..." Eddie read the card he picked, making you double over onto the table, laughing a little too hard.
