Listen I know this was always advertised as a horror podcast. I was under no illusions that this was gonna be fun and games. However I'm just a silly little guy who's constantly surprised that horrible things happen in the horror podcast. Those things can co exist.

Right so Wednesday

So the main thing I’m trying to rectify with this AU is the fact that Nevermore could not function as a school the way that it is portrayed in the the show. I mean for a show set in the school they have exactly one actual class. They also seem to have a grand total of 3 authority figures in the school and technically only one of them is a teacher and shes still manages to betray them all.

The second thing this AU is going to hinge on is that Larissa, Gomez and Morticia are a throuple. Because I can.

Right the main things to know:

The parentage of the Addams kids goes as follows: Wednesday - ‘mother’ Morticia ‘father’ Larissa. Pugsley - ‘mother’ Morticia ‘father’ Gomez. Pubert - ‘mother’ Larissa ‘father’ Gomez.

The ages of everyone (at the time of the show) is: Larissa, Gomez and Morticia - 43, Wednesday - 15, Pugsley - 12, Pubert - 2

Nevermore runs on a slightly different scale then normal schools just because of the needs of the students. So they start at age 14 and attend for seven years and finish at 21.

Larissa’s timeline is she finishs school at 21, goes to Uni (College cause she’s in america) for 5 years and finishes at 26; she starts at Nevermore immediately, Wednesday is born when she’s 28 and she becomes principal when she 35.

Pubert keeps his blond hair and blue eyes cause I think it’s fitting but still has the tiny mustache because that is just hysterical.

Larissa is a quarter Russian because she needs her own language to speak and French and Spanish are already taken and I think Russian is fitting.

Wendnesdays name for Larissa is Мамочка but both Pugsley and Pubert call her Mама (only one site gave context for mum in russian so I hope that reads right)

Right thats all for now, I think I got everything important. Next up, but later cause I want breakfast now is the Dorm system cause that gives us the number of students and how they are divided. And after that is the schedule because honestly I think the show has no clue what that is.

(Keep in mind I am from New Zealand and I might forget to swap my seasons and I might just straight up forget holidays)

hey btw if you're in the USA at  2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4, they're testing the emergency broadcast system. your phone is probably going to make a really loud noise, even if it's on silent. there's a backup date on the 11th if they need to postpone it.

if you're not in a safe situation and have an extra phone, you should turn that phone completely off beforehand.

additionally, if you're like me, and are easily startled; i recommend treating it like a party. have a countdown or something. be surrounded by your loved ones. take the actions you personally need to take to make yourself safe.

i have already seen mockery towards any person who feels nervous about this. for the record, it completely, completely valid to have "emergency broadcast sounds" be an anxiety trigger. do not let other people make fun of you for that. emergency sounds are legitimately engineered to make us take action; those of us with high levels of anxiety and/or neurodivergence are already pre-disposed to have a Bad Time. sometimes it is best to acknowledge that the situation will be triggering for some, and to prepare for that; rather than just saying "well that's stupid, it's just a test."

"loud scary sound time" isn't like, my favorite thing, but we can at least try to prevent some additional anxiety by preparing for it. maybe get yourself a cake? noise cancelling headphones? the new hozier album? whatever helps. love u, hope you're okay. we are gonna ride it out together.

christ sometimes I just wanna. steal a time machine & go back & sit down next to my 9-year-old self and just like. let them pull out their pokemon card binder & gush about their holographic gyarados or whatever. I'd just smile & ask questions about motherfukcing bulbasaur & tell my kid self that I thought they were a neat person, & someday they'd find other people who thought so too.

GGY Week Day 2 - Rivalry

This morning sucked. Woke up at 7 on less than 5 hours of sleep to bake over 50 Eccles cakes. Didn’t have like half my ingredients. Bought more only to realise I still didn’t have them all. Burnt myself on the syrupy filling. Printer died on me as I was trying to get a printing job done. Forgot to have lunch I was so excited. Locked my car key in the boot. Waited an hour in the sun in all black to make sure I didn’t get a parking ticket whilst trying to get said key out. Got stuck in traffic for half an hour only to find I’d just moved under 100 metres. Accidentally had the thermostat cranked up to 40C the whole journey. All of this, just to get to a screening.

Then when I got there….

Shrimp emotions. The atmosphere was incredible. Got there 3 hours early. Immediately bonded with people, and it just felt so warm and exciting. I passed round the Eccles cakes in its little (very large) Antichrist basket. We all counted down with the timer waiting for the episodes to start. The episodes were amazing, and I have to thank @neil-gaiman for making this season come true - it was everything I hoped for and more, and I think that’ll be the case for pretty much everyone. I wouldn’t trade this experience for the world, even if I had to live through this morning 20x over.

Trust me when I say you’re not prepared for season 2. No one is.
