I feel like you'd appreciate that I looked up Toledo Mud Hens stuff on eBay as a Klinger gag gift for husband but the way ad algorithms work is that now every ad on my TUMBLR is for fucking Mud Hens merch, so scrolling my tumblr dash now feels like Klinger pops up every so often to enthuse about the Mud Hens and I just don't know how to feel about that
DJENFJSNDNS OH NOO
that just means a little piece of klinger is with u wherever u go

( Brutally Honest Ship Meme ) - ^^ Thank you! Sorry this took forever to put into words. I could not shut up. LOL Have 830 words of me rambling about two nerds.
-
-quietly but with feeling- OTP! OTP! Okay, seriouslythough: I have Thoughts™. But overall: yes, love them, always fav.
This ship is fascinating to me for so many reasons that are difficult to put into words. I love the constant theme of respect, fascination, and sameness across all ‘verses. That both of them, despite being on different sides, both go from being outsiders that don’t really belong to finding someone who matches them, who stimulates their intellect and who actually understands them, who they can just be themselves around when they’re together. There’s something beautiful in the thought of finding someone who is, to paraphrase, “made for you”. Tragic, yes, considering all iterations of Holmes and Moriarty are doomed to destroy each other through the same means that earned them their reverence. Additionally tragic because of how enthusiastically they both approach that end—and yet I suppose they both consider it an honour in a way? What’s more meaningful than destruction at the hands of your foil? Couldn’t leave that to just any person on the street.
I feel like this is one of those ships you could really do anything with and it’s kind of a shame to me that they’re restricted to angst and tragedy usually when they’re allowed to be together. I know the angst is an integral part of them, but gods, the wonder of being understood! The terror of someone knowing you in your entirety and accepting you! That relief of finally not being alone, especially for a Moriarty! The kinds of stories we could tell if we focused on those feelings instead of the Game and their mutual destruction! And yet…at the same time, that destructiveness is also a big part of who they are. And as beautiful as all these rare, wonderful feelings are, there’s also beauty in breaking and decay and the end of all things. They have this potential to span an entire spectrum of emotions and situations (the span of all that makes us human) and I really hope, in time, people come to utilise that spectrum more.
(On a slightly related note, it kinda bothers me that we only seem to get canon Sheriarty in media where only one of them has been genderswapped—this isn’t a dig at Elementary, which I remember enjoying, I’ve seen this in a few other derivatives and it frustrated me there, too. I don’t really understand this trend? Is there something so terrifying at the thought of them being the same gender? Especially if they’re both said to consider their bodies as transport in some ‘verses? Why does the ship have to fall into “mainstream appeal” when neither character is the type to embrace that concept?)
Of course that self-destructiveness also implies a level of unhealthiness—there is something twisted and off putting and occasionally frightening about them. But it all circles around again to the respect thing. Moriartys never initiate that final game until their Holmes pushes forward and essentially agrees to the Game; Holmes always waits for Moriarty to make the first move after that. No one forcibly drags the other into anything—after that point it becomes a mutual give and take towards oblivion. And the amount of regard it takes to both wait and to not fuck over the other person unfairly is staggering to me. Especially for two people who don’t seem to care about social conventions most of the time and who both don’t seem to mind just how dark their relationship can, occasionally, be.
‘Verse specific, but I’ve always enjoyed the almost sapiosexual feel that seems most apparent in ACD’s canon, especially with Holmes—I feel like this was kinda missing in Ritchie’s films but came back in both Elementary and BBC’s versions. Though I also feel like Elementary and BBC heightened one important aspect of their relationship and added another in a way that I think builds a very interesting layer to them—aestheticism and and need. Though every version always remarks on the mastery of both Holmes and Moriarty’s abilities in the other’s mind, the building of that aestheticism seems to have built up their opinions of each other in a way that feels more like someone regarding a work of art than another person. And the need…the barely repressed tension in BBC, the lingering craving in Elementary…so good, so painful, and I adore the different facets that adds to them both as a whole.
So, I suppose, in summation: my opinion of them is that they’re complex and fascinating for it. They’re like…a garden: when allowed to just be, they’ll grow wild and barely restrained by normal means. But there’s just as much a chance of them growing into something beautiful and flourishing until the winter as there is a chance of their plants canibalising themselves and destroying everything. But, whatever happens, I feel like they always are right where they intend to be with each other and there’s something nice in that, regardless of the outcome.
#ask Rae stuff#thanks for the ask!#ship ask#Sheriarty#Jimlock#really long post#that said#this ship always has chaotic dumb@ss energy; two people who collectively share one braincell only when they're face-to-face#whoever's talking is usually the one getting to use the braincell#evidence:#ACDHolmes: 'I felt an attraction. too many things reeling (An “In So Few Words” Story)
This is just a short little thing inspired by this post that I wrote for @weweremadeforeachothersherlock that I really hope makes sense, but I’ve been writing for eighteen hours straight now and sorry if it doesn’t?
too many things reeling - Sherlock has thoughts of the one truest love he's had as he's dying.
READ @ AO3 | HELP ME SURVIVE? | COMMISSION ME?
“I really thought you could save me.”
Sherlock held Moriarty close, as his mind reeled, as often as it usually did, as pain overtook him. “I thought I could too.”
Here in the safety of his mind palace, Moriarty lived. And there were apologies and words exchanged and feelings admitted but most importantly, Jim Moriarty lived.
He hadn’t realized how empty he felt after the situation on the roof. Moriarty died there, lying in a pool of blood while he’d had to fall like an angel fell from heaven after killing the devil on his shoulder. Temptation, the tempted...there was so much between them.
Hate.
Loss.
Intelligence.
Boredom.
Love.
Yes, as much as he loathed to admit it aloud, he loved Moriarty, or at least loved what he had been. Maybe loved the man himself; there was something about Moriarty that drew him in, deeper, deeper, until it was all-surrounding, all-encompassing. And there was a form of love of the comfort of being surrounded by the dark.
And he had been safe in his mind palace, once Sherlock had let him out of the prison he’d kept him trapped in when he had to focus. Laser-like, straight and narrow, not a path he walked very often but his focus could be straight and narrow.
Was he straight? Was he not? He didn’t know. His mind was full of questions.
And now, after having him alive in his brain for so long, having a million iterations of a relationship, a million interactions, a million lives lived in the dreams and halls and walls and the palace itself…
“I really thought you could save me.”
Moriarty held Sherlock close, as their mind reeled, as often as it usually did, as pain overtook them. “I thought I could too.”

Richard like a post I tagged him in a few weeks ago and tbh I'm still dead.
the other day someone asked Richard if the ball he tossed around in tww was his idea or Aaron’s and all he tweeted was “my idea” and so I tweeted him and said “Steve McQueen’s idea” and he liked it. Honestly, Richard is such a fun, interactive person on twitter. He’s liked and/or responded to me a lot and it always makes me so happy and excited. And I constantly see him interact with others and other fans (I have him on notifications lol). He’s such a nice guy.

Sheriarty, 8
I’m sorry it took so long. I’m slowly getting back into writing now thankfully. here ya go!
8. A&E waiting room
Jim stepped into the A&E waiting room with his arm in a sling late on a Thursday evening and looked around for somewhere to sit. He was in a foul mood as, what was supposed to be a relatively relaxed evening of free running, (a skill that had saved his life multiple times) had turned into a cab ride to the hospital when an inexperienced runner had crashed into him. He’d heard the faint noise of his radius breaking and sure enough it started to swell. A sure sign that it was broken. He’d made a sling and hailed a cab. He was going to have to deal with the man later.
The woman at the desk had told him it would take a while so he looked around the room to see where he wanted to sit. He scrapped any places with children, and then old people who were likely to ramble to him. For all parties involved it would be better if he stayed away from them. Apart from the group of slightly drunk young adults there was only one other place, the one next to a man with dark brown curly hair. Jim sat down with a chair between them and took his phone out to read. The man was better prepared and had brought a book. Jim felt faintly jealous and watched the man. Out of habit more than anything else he started to deduce what might be going on. He had a fresh bandage that was sloppily applied on one of his hands and a bit of glass in his hair. Combined with the chemistry book the man was reading and the the way the light bounced off the glass Jim deduced that a beaker had shattered and part of it had embedded itself in the man’s hand.“What are you looking at?” The man snapped.“You still have some glass in your hair.”The man went through his hair with his good hand and and then shook it around. Jim suppressed a smirk.“Did it not go to plan?” Jim offered.“You wouldn’t understand.” The man bit back, clearly in pain.“Try me.” He answered in the same tone. The man explained some complex chemistry and Jim needed all his knowledge on the subject to keep up with it, but he did manage. The man was clearly impressed. Of course Jim had been right. The man’s experiment had shattered the beaker. Some of the glass had embedded itself into his hand and it took a small piece of the glove with it.“So what happened to you then?” He finally asked as the chemistry part of the conversation had ended.Jim made a mental note to make up something badass and impressive to answer this question in the future. He blamed the pain for not thinking of it. (even though it wasn’t actually that bad, he’d had far worse after all) Instead he told the man the truth.“You do that often?” The man asked. “running around the city from roof to roof?”“Occasionally, on my days off.” Jim replied “don’t you?”“I do plenty of running during my work. Sherlock Holmes. Consulting detective.”It took Jim everything he had not to show his shock and surprise. He knew sherlock Holmes, of course, but he knew him as a nozy detective and all round very smart man. Not as a hot guy he could run into at A&E. “Jim Lewis. I’m a professor of Mathematics.” He resorted to his favourite alias. “Oh.” Sherlock said somewhat amused “does that combination happen often? Free running and mathematics?”Jim shrugged and then grinned a little “someone’s gotta do it.”“Sherlock Holmes?” Came the voice of a nurse just as sherlock was about to speak.“That’s me.” He replied and got up. “It’s been a pleasure talking to you.” Sherlock continued and then hurried to the nurse.
Ten minutes later it was Jim’s turn. He got a cast around his arm and the boring speech on how to take care of it. He then, finally, got some painkillers and was hurried out of the office as the waiting room was still far from empty. He looked around to see if he saw sherlock, somehow eager to talk to the man again. He didn’t see him and with a sigh he headed out of the door. Just as he looked for a cab he spotted a head of familiar curly hair heading around the corner. He eyed the cab that just turned up. Damn, he’d have to get another one, and he hurried after sherlock. “Hey! He called “sherlock!”Sherlock looked over he shoulder and, seeing who it was who called, stopped “yeah?”“Sign my cast?” Jim asked. Suddenly he wasn’t all too sure about this.Sherlock’s face lit up “sure.” He searched for a pen in his pockets and eventually found one. He carefully wrote something on the cast and then smiled “goodnight, professor.” He said and headed off into the dark alley. Jim looked at what he’d written. It was a bunch of numbers, a phone number, he realised, followed by two words in a scratchy font ‘call me’.
Jim grinned widely, he was definitely going to do that.

weweremadeforeachothersherlock said: I gotta say, I admire your persistence. This blog, despite my not following a single tag on it, has popped up on my dash for YEARS now. Years. I dunno what ship Stendan is and I don’t care and it still baffles me that I see this at all. But good on you for the devotion.
Thank you, @weweremadeforeachothersherlock. It’s probably better that you don’t know who Stendan are. You’ll be happier that way.

word thing: vainglorious
Aaaaah, sorry I took so long on this one, but here you go!
For the gothic horror au:
He cut short his diatribe with pointed look as if to add adry “well?” or “do youunderstand or must I repeat myself?” to his already-brusque words. Sherlockalmost expected an exasperated reply along the lines of how John might haveresponded: either an immediate jolt into action or a long-suffering sigh and anadmonishment for flaunting such an overtly vainglorious façade. But Moran just…stared.A pause settling over his thoughts and something odd and impossible to nameflickering over his features. In the next second it was gone. Moran dismissedhim with a disbelieving snort, his body language suggesting he was thirtyseconds away from telling Sherlock to go fuck himself.

I was tagged by @greattideflow to share 10 photos from this year.
This year flew by but was really great. I have a great job, I bought my first home, got to spend a lotnof time with my family and my super cute amazing niece, visited Jarryd’s family in New York, one of my best friends got married, lost some weight, and we had some amazing gigs— espcially our three day gig in Milwaukee. Recorded an album that should be streaming soon.
Really cant complain about this year at all. Did so many things I love and accomplished some goals and now im really to relax a bit for the holidays :)
I nominate (?) @thedarkwillendthedark @flyingupoctaves @inallthingsbalance @megaforge @thejoyfulfox @weweremadeforeachothersherlock
