In the last 12 hours they’ve managed to:

Release a Canadian GP Full Access video that is a glorified livery sponsorship house music montage with no dialogue, no bts content and not a single shot with both Ferrari drivers in it

Post an Instagram short of Charles dressing for the race with the backing track “don’t you realise that it hurts me” 💀

And still not release any of the three C2 challenge videos they’ve been sitting on since AUSTRALIA

It baffles me so much that the writers of SPN had written Sam specifically to have a running and ongoing trauma of being denied his autonomy, in particular bodily autonomy... and then writers also had decided that Sam should be a sole victim of oh, so “funny” and “wacky” and “joke-y” objectification in form of being prayed upon by women. It’s Sam who gets groped by older women on more than one occasion, it’s Sam who is the focus of Becky’s fixation, to say nothing of the horrible “love potion” episode with her, and we’re supposed to find it funny. Like, you can’t have a cookie and eat it too, either we can cry about it being an ongoing trauma for Sam, a tragedy of his life, or we can laugh at how uncomfortable it makes him that he’s basically molested, we can’t do both. 

What is more bizarre, is that the writers didn’t just think it was funny trope and  put it in for the laughs, because Dean does not get that treatment. No, they saved it specifically for Sam. What gives...?

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

When I was a kid my family pretended to get raptured so I would think I was left behind on earth while they all went to heaven.

I was like 8 years old and my sister and mom had gotten really into the Left Behind novels (bible fan fic about the rapture). In the books when the rapture happened the clothes that people were wearing when they got raptured were left behind in neatly folded piles.

One day when I was getting home from school my family decided that they would leave piles of neatly folded clothes around the house, and then hide in the basement.

The intended effect was that I would get home and see the clothes then, think that my family had been raptured and that I wasn’t good enough to get into heaven… or something?

The problem was that I had never read these books, and didn’t really think about the rapture very often. There was no reason that I would see some laundry on the floor and think “The rapture happened and I’ve been abandoned by God! I’ll never see my family again!! Oh nooo!!!!”

I just sat down and watched cartoons and eventually my family got bored and revealed that they were all hiding in the basement.

It’s a good thing I didn’t understand the joke, otherwise that shit would have been traumatic.

somehow instead of saying "as a treat", I've started using the phrase "for morale", as if my body is a ship and its crew, and I (the captain) have to keep us in high spirits, lest we suffer a mutiny in the coming days.

and so I will eat this small block of fancy cheese, for morale. I will take a break and drink some tea, for morale. I will pick up that weird bug, for morale.

we cry "the innocent women and children" to appeal to the masses, to try and force their sympathy, but the men and boys are innocent too.

I have seen sons crying out for their mothers, their fathers, their siblings. I have seen them break down at the loss of their families. I have seen them cling to their dead and grieve.

I have seen fathers cradle their dead children, seen them kiss their faces and hold their little hands. I have seen them faint with grief when asked to identify the dead. I have seen them carry their sons and daughters. I have seen them fasting to provide what little they can for their families.

I have seen men and boys digging through the rubble with just their bare hands, I have seen them comforting strangers, playing with children, rocking them, hushing them, even if the face of such imminent danger. I have seen them cry, seen them grieve, seen them break down into each other's arms, seen them be selfless, beyond selfless, becoming something I don't have a word for.

I have seen the men who are doctors refuse to leave their patients, even when they have no medicine or supplies to give them, even when they're threatened with bombings. I have seen fathers who have lost all their children pick orphans up into their arms and proclaim them their child so they are not alone. I have seen men and boys digging pets out of the rubble.

the men are innocent too. the men and boys are being hurt and killed too. the men and boys are grieving too. the men and boys are scared too. the men and boys are fighting to save their people too. the men and boys deserve to be fought for too.
