🕳- Do you ever lose time? If so, how does it affect your life?

I always *think* i dont lose time, until i try and remember things other people are talking about me having been a part of, and having zero recollection of ever doing those things. So, maybe? I don’t really ever have a sudden amnesia moment, especially as typically my switches very are fluid and we rarely notice we’ve switched until it’s like, obvious and right there that a new person is fronting. So i wouldn’t say it impacts our lives too much!

🎤- Do you feel comfortable talking about your DID?

I feel fairly comfortable talking about it online, especially as pretty much everyone rattling around in the body is an oversharer, so we always jump on the opportunity to talk about ourselves.

However, it’s a completely different story irl. I rarely talk about it at all, maybe occasionally making a vague reference to something about it when i’m doing visibly badly because of it, but really irl im very,, closed off when it comes to actually talking about the deeper stuff of my mental health. I make a lot of deflecting jokes, referencing my anxiety, or depression or what have you when my friends inquire about my mental health, both as a way to deflect further probing into everything else, but also as a way to say that, yes i am struggling a ton right now, yes things are bad in my head at the moment, but im joking about it and talking about it would make it worse, ya know? So uh yeah, online, for sure, irl, you’ll have to pry my mental secrets from my cold dead hands :P

🎹- What do you create as a system?

I mean other than trauma, pretty much everyone has some interest in writing, main ones being Sam/Rose (Hi me writing this rn, also the most frequent hosts :P) we all really love stories, but as a consequence we’ve also got quite a lot of book ideas, movie ideas, webcomic ideas, etc etc, but atm we’re focusing on one big story we hope to turn into a book series one day :)

Also, a couple of us sing! Some in our schools choir, but mostly we like making our own songs, either madeup little songs about random things we’re thinking of, but we also think of large more uhh, ballad like songs, which can be a bit annoying when one of us is singing while the rest are trying to focus.

Speaking of music though, we all play piano, and are trying to figure out how to write piano music!

Also also, a few of us like to draw and are trying to get better! (That includes but is not limited to, traditional pencil and paper, digital art, pixel art, voxel art, 3d art, animation, just alllll the 3d art and modelling, etc etc suffice it to say we have tried a looooot of art forms and are making slow progress in all of them :P)

We also want to make custom animations and songs and stories and put em on youtube, like a couple of really cool songwriters have done (Ferry with PAFL, R.I.P with their cool but graphic and terrifying stuff, etc) but that’s a far off hope, we’re not that talented at either yet.

And finally we all are interested in coding and making games and stuff, yet another big hobby floating around and vying for our attention and work :P

This is old now, but my understanding is that what we know, and what we thought we knew, about dietary and nutritional science has evolved a lot from the days of "fat and salt are literally The Devil" and the food pyramid. Turns out fat and salt aren't as detrimental to your health as we thought, but saturated fat and sugar might actually be more detrimental to your health than we thought (not trying to fearmonger; I'm providing examples of both extremes). Dietary and nutritional needs are incredibly varied and a healthy lifestyle for one person might not be healthy for another. & from what I've seen, generally fat activists propose that any food is better than no food. The idea of "empty calories" is detrimental because calories are energy and we need energy to survive, even if that energy comes from a cookie. But it's still incredibly important to get a variety of nutrients in your diet, which I struggle with thanks to my toddler palate. (2/3)

Also RE: prediabetes, that's a contentious diagnosis in the medical community and some believe it's overdiagnosed. Regardless, since from what you've said it sounds like you've made some drastic changes to your eating habits, I'd like to know if you have any advice. I also struggle with comfort/coping eating and sugar addiction (I type this as I slurp down my third cup of sugared coffee of the day). All of the "fitspo" inspiration I've seen sounds utterly unattainable to me.

Oooh yeah, I agree with all of this. I remember struggling to eat tons of grain because the food pyramid said so and utterly hating it, then going kinda-sorta vaguely on Atkins (as in, eating less bread, not eating no carbs) when my mom discovered it and feeling SO MUCH BETTER and being vaguely baffled about why in the world THAT would be happening when Mr. Government kept going “GRAINS GRAINS GRAINS.”

Only to discover that nowadays the word to the wise is don’t overdo carbs, which sure seems to me like what I was discovering by experience.

And yeah, I don’t like “empty calories” much either, but it does seem there’s research that suggests that if you, like, eat nuts instead of cookies you do better. So acting like it doesn’t nourish you at all seems detrimental, but can it be bad to eat that to the exclusion of other stuff? If my blood pressure readings mean anything, yeah, seems so to me.

For me, what I did was:

-Used a calorie tracker, which I absolutely don’t recommend everyone do and I don’t do consistently any more. I found it useful in the beginning to get a vague sense of what the portions I was eating really looked like, and what size portions would be better if I could manage it without distracting levels of discomfort. But if it’s just going to make you feel worse or feed into bad patterns don’t do it.

-Made sure to allow myself SOME access to comfort/fun foods or SOME days to feast and have fun. The idea was to rebalance my diet as a whole, not make myself miserable.

-Attempted to substitute some less sugary comfort foods for more sugary ones. Could I drink a mocha rather than eat a cookie, and enjoy doing this? Could I drink a latte rather than a mocha? Over time, I found I could, and actually found myself craving the MOST sugary stuff less often.

(Over time means, like, a couple months. And means noticing myself thinking about sweets less. Not “you will never want a triple decker brownie again.”)

-Worked to substitute “I did a cool thing and am proud! I’m going to buy myself a cookie!” with “I did a cool thing and am proud! I’m going to buy myself a small toy!” 

-Weighed myself weekly, but not more often than that.

-Measured things other than my weight. How does my knee feel? What is my blood pressure? Are crooked sidewalks giving me a lot of trouble, or only a little?I’m not immune to pressure to look thin, but reminding myself those are my real reasons helps.

-Reminded myself constantly that progress is slow. What did I lose? 20 pounds. How long did this take? About a year. What did I absolutely consistently keep off? 10.

@mad-madam-m​ tagged me in the “list 5 OTPs from 5 fandoms” meme a couple days ago, which I laughed at her for because (a) she knows my otps FULL WELL (b) our lists are very nearly an exact match (which i am by the way delighted about because half my list right now is full of rare pairs, and I have never before known the hell of treading that landscape alone)

but!

I’m gonna do the meme and double it up as an announcement of what I am currently into and what you’re likely to see on this blog if I start picking up my activity levels a little.

I honestly have no idea how active tumblr is at this point - how many of you are still around, and how many of you I might lose if I start reblogging my other fandoms in addition to Sterek - but after doing a Pillowfort experiment for a while, I think I’ve finally figured out how to use social media again in a way that works better for me.

My old method, before tumblr kinda imploded and fandom got weird (filled with antis and ship hate and constant infighting, ugh why), was to create a separate blog for everything I was into, which is why I have appreciatederek, appreciateshiro, appreciatejack, and...is that it? See, this is why I need to stop scattering myself into a zillion different pieces.

So I’m going to consolidate more (like I do on twitter and now Pillowfort), and also hopefully get back to my fandom roots: digging into more meta, like I did 8 years ago when I first fell in love with Sterek, and posting fic recs, like I also did thanks to Sterek. (And sharing my own fics as I write them. Guess which fandom pushed me down that path, too.)

So it’s fitting that the first ship on this list is...well, an obvious one.

1. STEREK (Teen Wolf)

Y’all know this one. Sterek will always, always be the OTP of my heart. I love their dynamic. I love the creativity and passion of the fandom. I love that they brought my writing back to me and introduced me to so many of you.

I still have dozens of Sterek fic ideas; quite a few of them are partially written or have significant outlines, so at some point I will still be writing them. Life is just, as you know, very busy and very tiring and it’s so hard to fit everything into my days. I’m working on it, I promise. 

I’d like to start doing more updates with snippets of my upcoming fics, maybe a lil Q&A if anyone wants to chat about what I’m working on/my thought process behind what I’ve already written/what you’d like to see from me, etc. Interactive fun stuff! Sterek fandom is still the best and most supportive fandom I’ve ever been a part of, and it makes me happy every time I’m reminded we’re all still around and thriving.

And here’s some of the other stuff I’m into right now...

2. XANATOWEN (Gargoyles)

I have been sailing this ship entirely by myself since January, recently joined by the aforementioned M, who also created this gif for me while she was still in the patient “I’m your friend, I will listen to you yelling about this show” stage. (ha ha ha look at her now, that’s what you get)

I’ve been genuinely holding myself back from spamming tumblr with my thoughts about this show and this ship, which I’m beginning to realize is...maybe silly. I’ll still try to keep it a little bit balanced, but you can definitely look forward to more Gargoyles on the horizon, including:

Fics - 30k so far, with another 4.6k that I’m hoping to post this afternoon, after I look over it and decide if I still like it (ha ha fic writing amirite). I also have a fairy tale AU that I’ve done a substantial outline for, so I’d really like to get that underway.

Episode recaps/meta posts - these are currently being posted over on Pillowfort. The goal is to get the last two episodes of Season 1 up there, then to start crossposting them here.

As long as it’s not a gigantic hassle to paste over all the screencaps, because I uh. I have a lot of them. And a lot of thoughts about the show as a whole, but particularly about the relationship between David Xanatos and Owen Burnett: the meta’s currently averaging from about 1.5k to 2.5k per episode, whoooops.

I love them. I love them a LOT. See my meta posts for very detailed explanations as to why.

3. TREVORCARD (Castlevania)

I honestly did not expect to get this deeply invested in this ship. I watched and liked the first two seasons of Castlevania and really enjoyed the dynamic between Trevor and Alucard, but it wasn’t until the lead-up to Season 3 (and then the devastation of how absolutely terrible that season was) that I realized how much I loved these two together.

So now I’m having a very Sterek Fandom moment of “eff you canon, they’re ours now” in regards to Trevorcard. 

I’ve written one fic for them - it’s a 20k coffee shop/modern/college/artist/musician AU because they deserve all the fandom tropes and so much happiness together..

I don’t currently have plans to write any more, although if I do, it’ll likely be some sort of neighbors AU with wolf!Alucard, since my vast experience with Sterek fandom has taught me the absolute joys of exploring characters who can canonically turn into a beautiful giant effing wolf. 

I’ve also been steadily reading my way through every single Trevorcard fic in the AO3 tag, which unfortunately is only ~200. (HOW is this a rare pair. I will never ever understand it, they’re perfect together, and the animators literally said they intentionally storyboarded moments like the one above with the knowledge that people would start shipping them.)

Once I’ve finished up my AO3 tour, I’m going to compile the ones I enjoyed into rec lists. There are some really wonderful fics in there, and I’m excited to see what the rest are like.

4. TAIBANI (Tiger & Bunny)

I really don’t talk about this ship much, but it’s so immensely close to my heart. I have...so much...official merch of Kotetsu and Barnaby; it makes me happy every single time I see it. If I used my Tiger & Bunny stuff as the standard for what sparks joy during a konmari, the rest of my apartment would probably wind up empty.

The show (which is finally getting a second season in 2022 - Kotetsu & Barnaby had better be getting married) is wonderful. I genuinely can’t recommend it enough. Great writing, wonderful character development, beautiful animation, and Kotetsu and Barnaby are absolutely perfect together. Here’s an old post where I talk about that a little bit.

I’ve only written one fic so far: a canon compliant established relationship future fic that focuses more on their family dynamic as Kotetsu’s daughter adapts to turning 18, becoming a hero, and living with her frustratingly affectionate dad & his new husband.

I have ideas for two AUs: a single dad mature student/young professor one and a sorta weird circus/steve irwin-inspired one. We’ll...we’ll see if I ever get around to either. What I end up writing always surprises me, so I sorta give up on planning what words will come out.

And oh wait! I totally forgot about the third idea, which will be roughly canon compliant, with “Kotetsu sets Barnaby up on a series of blind dates that Barnaby initially thinks will be with HIM” angsty/funny fic. Hrm. I should get back to that one, I’ve outlined part of it.

I haven’t actually read a ton of fic for this pairing, because the more I like canon material, the less I seek out fandom content to “fix” it, but I would like to start going through the AO3 tag after I finish my Trevorcard project. I did an initial rec list ages ago and would like to follow up with another.

5. SHEITH (Voltron: Legendary Defender)

Here’s the last pairing I write fics for. I have several more in progress that I’d really like to finish - including a dragon AU that I wish someone else would just finish for me so I can read it, hahhhhhhh sigh. I wrote 15k, did a ton of research, and basically intimidated myself out of continuing, because it’s one of my Big Projects. Not gonna be like, PDIW length or anything, but it should be a pretty hefty fic once it’s done.

Then there’s the roommates AU, the burrito shop AU, the....wow. I really need to get back to these, don’t I. A couple of them are super close to being finished, too.

I’ve also compiled a few fic rec lists, although I haven’t updated those (or my Sheith blog) in a while.

This fandom has been...interesting. Rough sometimes. Sliding into some of the other pairings on this list has provided a good break for me, particularly since they’re all such small fandoms that they’re relatively free from drama and hate. Once I’m fully refreshed and re-inspired, I’d love to get back into writing Sheith. They’re such a perfect, feel-good, extraordinarily balanced and supportive ship, and I am disappointed every single day I remember that Voltron didn’t stick the landing with making them canon.

Look at that almost-kiss. Just...look at it. And tell me they aren’t in love.

The one where Andy Lies

Major Crimes, S2xE14: Episode Review What this episode is about: Accidentally screwing your family and friends Dietz Andy Meta Shandy: Doors & Windows Putting all of your cards on the table Aubrey Dietz & Mr Dietz Sharon & Rusty Sharon & Andy & Provenza

I have to say, as a Shandy fan. I've been waiting to review this episode. While it's not Acting Out level of Shandy it's still an adorable episode.

That thing about names...

I also love at this point Sharon is calling her squadmates by their first names.

Mike, Julio...and then of course Lieutenant because of how much he hates his first name. I feel like that stands out more in MC because they all use first names verses TC when names and ranks were the norm. To me it make sense for them to use their first names regularly at this point as some of these people have been working together for 10 years.

"Can we call him scam-y? Naming him techy is derogatory to those of us who -" Also I just noticed the names of their suspects.

Dr Charles Mason....so close to Charles Mansion. And Aubrey Dietz was a former soap opera producer. haha. Plus the contractor broke his leg. I'm not sure what that has to do with the crime but maybe the victim broke it? And I love their nicknames for their suspects here that sound like the seven dwarfs. Sonny, Techy, Limpy, Roomie, Wifey and Doc.

Accidentally screwing your family and friends

"You were always rich. You had a father who cared so much for his family that he did every crazy thing he could do for trying to make up for all of his failings."

The poor guy just wanted to take care of his family and sadly gets killed for his money by his own wife. Andy certainly is taking his anger out on the family as he reconizes him and his family in them.

Andy Almost right away we get a very distracted Andy. Provenza notices immediately. Especially when Andy goes off on a very odd tangent about the Nutcracker. As we have come to learn about Andy Flynn is that when is mind is preoccupied about something else (generally something involving Sharon) he becomes so distracted that he has a hard time concentrating on anything else. 

"It sounds like our victim accidentally screwed his family and friends. Got overly desperate to fix things and ended up murdered for his 500,000 dollars." I love how Andy jumps in after they've all covered that because of how preoccupied he is with is own situation. Before we even know what's going on with him these two sentences sum it up for us quite nicely.

Then in the Morgue Andy points out that the man found at the bottom some shallow marsh in a golf course with golf club sized holes in his head is suspicious. Sharon and Provenza share a look. And later on Sharon takes note of it herself as she looks to Andy and then back towards Provenza.

Putting all of your cards on the table

Sharon, Rusty & Emma

Sharon has put all of her cards on the table. She wants Rusty to have a psych eval. Rusty seems to finally come around to it but he doesn't want anyone to know what he talked about with Dr Joe. Sharon's also holds all of the legal cards in her hand against Emma. 

Emma once again having issues with how Sharon does things regarding Rusty. Is Emma so insecure about not winning the trial against Stroh that Sharon seeking therapy for Rusty is going to do so much damage to the prosecution? It sounds absolutely ridiculous to me. I thought we were making progress here Emma. Not to mention that it sets off Rusty who had been so uncomfortable and reluctant in the first place. 

I do love how the squad attempts to put Rusty's fears to rest. Provenza is like don't even worry about it. Amy says that she's been to therapy and Andy confesses that he's seeing one right now. To which everyone turns around and looks at him.

And he gets awkward and embarrassed by saying he's sort of seeing one. So I've got some feelings about this scene. It's cute and hilarious. On top of that, their doing their best to really highlight how strange Andy's behavior is in this episode. Andy admitting to seeing a therapist ranks right up there. Maybe it's the fact that Andy would go to someone else for help in his personal life. Or maybe it's just that he's seeing a councilor that has everyone taken aback. 

Add that to this quick shot of Julio and Mike exchanging a look between themselves. In amusement and surprise. 

"You wana stop worrying that we'll somehow lose the kid in an SIS opperation. Even though that's never happened before in the history of this department..." Foreshadowing much?

I also love Rusty finally unloading on Emma. And how she's trying to stop him from seeing a doctor. As it seems he's finally on board with talking to a therapist and recognizes that it will be good for him. 

Both Sharon and Provenza try so hard not to laugh in front of her. 

"I do not need to ask your permission to seek medical attention for my son." After all of Emma and Taylor's talk about why Sharon would want to keep Rusty. And how much they want him in witness protection. This is the reason why not right here. And at this point Sharon isn't taken aback by her own feeling towards Rusty. This is my son and I have the legal rights as any mother does. Plus the fact that we have Sharon here who knows the law inside and out. Who wanted to be a lawyer. You don't stand much a chance Emma. 

Love this scene between Sharon and Rusty. Feels so much like a mother and her teenage son. Rusty is worried that everyone is going to know his deepest darkest secrets. And complains that the trial is going to last the rest of his life.

Doors and Windows

So once Sharon & Andy got engaged I made a post about windows and doors. And there use in Sharon & Andy's relationship. This episode is really the beginning of that. Notice how Provenza shuts Andy out of Sharon's office. Andy is not allowed into Sharon's heart. Who is in there though but Rusty. Who Sharon already loves and in fact tells Emma this when she talks about her legal rights over her son.

But he's got a little window in there and Sharon certainly takes notice. She even asks Provenza if Andy's depressed. Because of his distracted state and other odd behavior such as seeing a therapist.

It's a bit like a father trying to keep his daughter away from the boy who’s dated every girl on the playground and now has his heart set on her. Every once and a while, when Dad's not home the boy throws rocks at the girls window to get her attention. 

Andy hangs around Sharon's office looking in her window. Not odd behavior at all. Gives her this adorable sad face. Which apparently is something he realized that he can use to get himself out of trouble with her. Or at least try because sometimes that sad face doesn't work.

Sharon/Andy and Provenza

When it comes to Shandy it's starting to become a pattern that whenever something is about to happen Provenza seems to be caught in the middle of it. And as the two closest people to Andy, both Sharon and Provenza are the first ones to make note of (and follow) Andy's odd behavior. 

In The Deep End Sharon and Provenza conspired together to nudge Andy into going to Nicole's wedding. It's only made obvious at the end of the episode when Sharon reveals to Andy that Provenza 'volunteered' to take Rusty out for burgers so she would be free to go to the wedding with Andy. This is the start of Provenza's Shandy headaches and the irony of it all is that he started it. 

So now the truth about Andy's behavior finally comes out. He sorta lied to his exwife. Which means he implied that him and Sharon are dating. And he doesn't correct his family. The question is why would he do that? Why would he mislead them about that? I get why he wouldn't want to correct them after the fact because then he'd just get himself into deep shit. Which does eventually happen later on down the road. But why lie in the first place? Love the look on Provenza's face. Like what did you do!?

Andy later on asks Provenzas advice on wheither or not Sharon would think going to the nutcracker with him would be a date. So here is where I am with that. In The Deep End, HE was the one that brought up the whole date thing. She was firmly against calling it a date. She stated explisitly that they were just two friends going to a wedding together and that it couldnt be a date because she was married. He could explain the whole situation to her but he doesn't want to. Because that would get him in trouble with her and his family. But this is even more foreshadowing for EVERYONE making the assumption that they are dating. Which they kinda end up doing and not really acknowledging it. 

I also love Provenza's quip here. "Who you should really ask is your psychiatrist. To ask you what the hell are you thinking?" Provenza sees this going in one direction and one direction only. That would be the road to disaster-ville. 

"And the Nutcracker is famous. Maybe the Captain might like it." "Flynn, the Captain's daughter is a dancer in the American Ballet Theatre. She has probably seen the nutcracker a thousand times." Yes but have you seen this woman's home? 90% of her art pieces in there are all about dancing. I think that extends beyond just being interested in her daughters chosen career. I'd say that Emily's love of the ballet is something that originally came from Sharon. 

I love how Andy gets all excited and starts ranting when his plan is falling apart. Because of how much he wants to spend time with his kids. And that's the reason right there. The reason why he lied about his relationship with Sharon in the first place. You can't fault Andy for trying. Even if it was stupid. 

Sharon is what finally made his family see that he had changed. Even though he's done a ton of stuff on his own to change his behavior. Becoming a more stable individual, like being sober and in AA for roughly 18 years at this point. A successful career as a detective in an elite division.

There seems to have been some slight progress through the years in the development in his relationship with his children. As he was invited to walk Nicole down the aisle at her wedding. However, Andy implies near the end of the episode, that he doesn't see his kids on a regular basis and how much he wants that to change. Them seeing a woman around him like Sharon who saw him in a positive light and had such a great realtionship with him. Well...that seemed to make his own family start to look at him differently. He keyed in on that and their very positive reactions to her. And used that to push his relationship with them further. 

Provenza offering to go with Andy is not the same thing but I do love that when the chips are down Provenza will do his best to come through for his friend. I can't see Provenza enjoying something like the ballet. While Andy agrees to Provenza's idea he is rather dejected about it. It is a solution that sits better with Provenza then it does with Andy.

Except that... Andy actually wanted to bring Sharon along. Because I think at this point Andy's not in love with Sharon but he is starting to develop feelings for her. Provenza of course is seeing this and wants to nip that in the bud. He knows his friend. The fact that Andy's started having an interest in their commanding officer. All Provenza sees at this point is drama drama drama. And also Gabriel and Daniels. The disaster that he had to solve.

It's also interesting that during each scene when Andy asks Sharon out from seasons 2-4. The both of them end up wearing the same blazers. Andy makes up his little lie about Nicole wanting someone there who knows about ballet up rather quickly. Which Sharon sees through right away - although she's not sure what his real reasoning is.  

What I don't like: Couldn't they have gotten a better wig for roomie? Can't say I'm that big a fan of the case this episode but it's really the personal stories that shine in this episode. And clearing the bedroom without looking under the bed. Seems like such a rookie mistake. That we don't actually get to see Sharon & Andy at the nutcracker and his family with their huge assumptions of them dating. 

What I like: The beginning of the Sharon/Andy and their 'not dating' dating relationship. I had already known before I started watching MC that Sharon & Andy were going to become a couple and I thought this would be the episode they'd become one. Little did I know. What I do like is that there was follow up on Andy's lie that ends up turning into a bit of a disaster for him next year.

In 2005, as part of our divorce agreement, my ex and I decided to keep the same auto insurance but under separate policies. We had been with this company for years. My policy was on auto pay meaning that the payments were taken directly from my account. He walked in to pay his. About 6 months after the divorce, I was pulled over for a routine traffic stop and was told I was driving an uninsured vehicle. Without insurance, my registration was also invalid. Both tickets totaled 1K. My car was taken into impound. I checked and found the officer was correct. On good terms with my ex, I told him what happened. He said for the past 6 months, each time he went in to make a payment, the girl HIS was already paid. Realizing what had happened. They were applying my payments to his automobile. I was furious. I notified the agent who initially did not want to accept blame, but since the payments were automatic and my account number was on each payment they took, they were responsible. The error was compounded by the fact that the cancellation notice went to HIS address (how dumb was that!) So I had no way of knowing that I was cancelled. I was without a car for 2 weeks and lost my job. After much haggling and many sleepless nights of wondering what to do without a job or a car, the insurance company finally admitted blame, paid the impound fees of $1,250.00. The agent also said they would handle the 2 tickets totaling 1K. FAST FORWARD TO 2010 in my state, the county did a scofflaw sweep and I was summoned to court with over 5 thousand other delinquent drivers to address unpaid tickets. The order was come to court by April 30th or be arrested. Realizing this had to be a mistake, but fearful of the law, I stood in line for over 5 hours in blazing heat, then sat in court another 5 hours waiting for my day in court. I was immediately threatened with arrest because the 2 tickets were not paid. Up to that moment, I had no idea the insurance company had not paid the 2 tickets. This time, not only was my insurance and registration cancelled, my license was suspended due to the age of the infraction (5 years). In front of the judge, I called the agents' office only to be told by the secretary that they had no intention to pay the ticket. Paying to get the car out of impound was enough. When the judge heard this she was shocked and let me off with a promise to pay in 5 days. She made me promise not to drive. With no way to get home but drive, I took a chance, and was pulled over. The officer informed me that due to the vast number of outstanding cases, tags bearing our county name would be targeted for a while (talk about a police state!). I showed him my documents from the court and headed home. This is a nightmare. Would I have a case if I filed suit against my insurance company for failing in their fiduciary responsibility to a 16 year client in good standing? By the way this company is one of the largest in the country.""

Dilute the “Bad”

Hello folks! Life’s been pretty good lately. Still some ups and downs with my depressive thoughts but I can’t complain.. My house has been extra tense lately and very toxic so getting away is always a good thing. However I am one step closer to freedom. I just got my first car and I’m now good enough at driving stick to leave when I need to. Next I am almost financially independent. My bank is in a transitioning state and is having major issues. So until they sort out those issues I won’t be financially free but I’m very close. I have full intentions to use my car for good and to help others. My car will also be used for me to escape my house from the poor climate that is my family. Anyway I have a theory about diluting the bad.

So you know when you hear someone who never curses but then they actually drop an F Bomb and everyone is like “WOW WHAT! They swore!”. That’s because they very rarely curse and when they do there is usually a good reason for it and it has added power and emphasis. But what about when you hear people who curse every other word? The power of the curse word is gone along with the emphasis and sometimes even the meaning or purpose of the word in the first place. Now older people and especially religious people (not just Christians) often say these are “bad words” that we should never use… but …. Why? The Bible does say that we should not use our words to curse others. Now that doesn’t  mean don’t use curse words and that doesn’t mean to not swear at people. It means to not curse them, no matter which words you use. However just because you say a curse word doesn’t mean you’re cursing someone. For example you drop a bowling ball on your foot and your reaction is, “oh shit!”. Curse words in themselves are not bad, in fact they are no different than any other words. They were just introduced to our culture as the meanest and dirtiest words around at the time and they still sorta carry that affect… sorta. I mean curse words are being used more and more which has caused them to become more normal and lose their affect and emphasis. I can already see curse words becoming more and more normal in my own church which is a large and fairly stereotypical Christian Church (more modern though). Honestly I see no problem in this and I think that these words are well on their way to becoming no different than when kids used to say the word “poo”. So pretty much the more we say it and the more normal it becomes so does all the bad meanings, emphasis and purpose of the words that were originally supposed to be so disrespectful, rebellious and show strong anger or hatred.

Now this probably isn’t rocket science to anyone but I want to apply this same theory to remove other “Social laws” or whatever you call them. This comes with a story though. I know a Christian girl who is living with her boyfriend (I don’t think he’s a Christian but he’s great and puts many Christians to shame). Some classic white Christian folk, my family, said they were Sinning and that her parents must be furious with her “rebellious” decision. Long story short I proved them all wrong but that’s not the point I’m here to make. However I should say that “sleeping” together before the Covenant of marriage is made is indeed wrong. Not the marriage document that’s just a modern, official thing our society does. Don’t worry about the document stuff, it’s not morally important in anyway. Anyway living in the same house or even sleeping,  like actually sleeping in the same bed is morally and Biblically ok. There’s nothing wrong with it.  Anyway the point I want to make is that I’d like to see more examples of breaking a “social law” like this to show that it’s not actually bad. I’m not saying that all couples should just move in together because they may fall into temptation but if you are strong enough not to, then there is no problem with it. So how about we all think for ourselves and do whatever we want as long as we are still being morally correct and stop caring if we are socially acceptable because to be socially acceptable simply means you are following the unspoken social laws that our society has made up. Do you want to live your life being held back or feeling pressured to act a certain way for no real reason? No of course not. So next time someone tells you something is wrong at the dinner table or something pause and think about it. I what you are doing is morally right then there isn’t actually a problem. For those of us who are Christians (or religious people of some sort) we need to not only be morally correct but also be sure to be following what the Bible says (or whatever your religion is but I’m Christian so that’s my default example). You’d be surprised how often religious people, especially Christians, use the religion/Bible to say that not following a social law is wrong and that is wrong for them to do since it’s a lie. Most of the time they hardly know they’re doing it though since people these days don’t do so well at thinking outside the box or thinking for themselves at all for the most part. They just do what they are told, mostly. Sadly the myth that religious people are only religious because they are told to be growing up is all too often true. It’s sad but remember that’s not something you should just assume about someone who is religious. It’s also often not true and you can bet that whatever reason someone has for being religious is a very important reason and they will likely take great offense to someone accusing them of just being what they are told to be. Anyway so the idea behind this post was to dilute the bad or more like the “bad” since so many things our society deems so many things bad when indeed they are not bad. Meanwhile our society deems many things to be ok when many things are not. If we dilute the fake bad things then they will disappear. How to remove the things that are actually bad thought? I’ll need another blog post for that, for now I guess I’ll just recommend the Bible.

So It’s getting late and I’ve gotta sleep now. I must get up early to go to work which is my church since I am the Janitor. Luckily working on a Sunday which is when we meet for ya know… church. It’s an easy shift so I don’t need to be too awake haha. Also I have gotten tons of work done on my book along with a couple other projects. Don't say I didn't warn you

I told y'all I'd be bad at updating this stuff, and to be honest still pretty much just sitting here at square one so...:/ Seeing as it's Friday and I'm far too tired to scroll back right now and see what I've already written, I think I'm just going to do a sort of comprehensive general update instead. Lets get started shall we!! STORM: - Fortunately that death scare with him was caught fast enough. Turned out to be a complication between two medications but hes good now. - Well, okay 'good' might not be the apt term at the moment. He was actually doing really well the last few weeks but the last couple of days he seems to be reverting back to before via stuck hairball so guess who gets to take him back to the vet to be flushed out AND shaved this time!!!! (Im losing it over here) COUNSELOR/THERAPIST -same weekly appointments -ptsd digging into has semi-sorta been put on hold at the moment -anxiety meds raised(again) - starting to look into dysautonomia as possible explanation to my strange reactions to the weather *ill adress this section at the end. Its complicated. * GASTROINTESTINAL DOCTOR -upper gi/colonoscopy were fine -biopsies taken were negative -ulcers are fine but my stomach lining is inflamed -biggest problem right now is lack of BMs but the unfortunate reality being this side effect is caused by a couple of meds and the iron infusions. Will fix itself eventually but for now i have to take Linzess to counterbalance it all so I don't end up in the ER RHEUMATOLOGIST - potentially going to start seeing a new one under Hematologist recommendation to actually get a definitive answer on whether i have Ehlers-Danlos HEMATOLOGIST -so this is a new one -one of the very first things he had to say about me: You are very underweight for your age (no shit Sherlock) -shit ton of blood work was done -the GI had found i was anemic (around 10) - apparently i have been for at the very least a year but since 10 is technically the low side of normal no one brought it up -given the sense of urgency he had on the phone im going to guess my hemoglobin is significantly lower now (8-9) -started iron infusions. Have second one on monday and then its just a waiting game to see if my system is capable of absorbing enough anymore -this past week has been absolute hell with side effects from the first infusion which is unfortunately for me, a highly common occurrence with the first round CARDIOLOGIST -Saw him on Wednesday actually. Everythings still the same -Metoprolol has helped to tone my heart rate from 115 to ~87 -but it doesn't hold like that all day, which is partly due to the anemia -Sinus Taccychardia is still present. Always has been always will be. -it's actually looking like the reason it got so intense this last year wasn't anxiety but the anemia getting progressively worse -so odds are this might actually go back to how it was when i was a teenager if we can get my internal system back in balance and my hemoglobin back to normal ORAL SURGEON -Lucky Me! Looks like i get to start seeing him again -Between obsessively eating ice and being stressed in general I've started to develop a habit of grinding my teeth in my sleep - bad enough on my jaw as it is because its started getting stuck out of place again -also bad for my weight because it's exhausting to eat even more so right now SIDE EFFECTS -honestly not even going to try to get into this list because so many things overlap and are nearly impossible to explain IN CONCLUSION: To be quiet honest as bad as all of this sounds it's really not. I have gone through significantly worse health wise before, and that was when it took people ages to figure out what was wrong. At least with all of this we know what the components are and how each piece interacts with each other. Its just hard to fully solve the rubiks cube without messing up some sides a bit worse for a little bit. The difference right now i KNOW whats wrong with me, the hard part is unwinding this ball of lights without breaking any bulbs. But its not like were going in blind we know what's causing what and interacting how its just unfortunately a marathon to get everything back in proper working order not a sprint. My biggest problem right now is more so a mental tug of war between my past medical experiences and my current state of functionality (lack thereof really). The harder part right now is just keeping a level head. I can't stress how demoralizing and aggravating and exhausting it is to live like this because it's not really living and it's barely even existing. To go from being a human that runs at mach 10 all day long to one who can't even get out of bed most days or make through going to town for appointments simply because there's no engery left to muster. Its defeating in a lot of ways and trying to keep some sort of grasp on the knowledge it's not something i can help, it's not something that will last forever, and it's not something I can make move any faster and do anymore than I already am, like I said it's all complicated. I'm just trying not give up on everything at this point. Even if seeing my body fight itself and being helpless to stop my mental state from cracking and deteriorating is all i can see in front of me here. (Granted the holidays and season changes probabllyyyyu isn't helping right now) If I can make it through 7th grade and I can make it through freshman year, I can get through the current hurricane im sitting in. Still doesn't make any of it any easier but I know it's not impossible either. Im trying, I promise. -JT

ok so first you know we take off on our dragons cause you know DRAGONS FROM AN AUCTION, while at the fantastic meal place, I snag a vote stealer, cause lets face it, Id rather have control of that rather than anyone else so we get back to camp and Jordan wins immunity in basically a second, so yay another Jordan winning streak, but then we have a lot of down time until the vote, and right as Im ready to go to bed, Darian and Ashley message me saying we need to talk and I’m like, wtf I do now I was basically feeling like I just had a ice cream truck fall on me from the sky turns out I wooed them over to trusting me, and they revealed that Lily wanted my head, which shocked me cause I thought we were good, but in retrospect, I did vote her out before so not a suprise but turns out she had leaked her hit list to Darian and Ashley, going from me to brian to nic, with Andrew somewhere in there and you know while I was freaking out, Ashley and Darian were like wtf we do, so then we sorta came up with a vote split plan, and lets just say it revealed a lot it was super complicated but involved me lying to Nic, which we were kinda on even terms but like, when Darian was going over the plan with him, Nic wanted me out so at that point I knew I couldn’t trust him, following such theres been doubt put in my mind that Drew is in my best intentions and in fact was going to vote me out if not for his self vote, I mean it took a hell of a lot of prying to get him to admit that Lily was targeting me so whether he really wants to play with me is a question at this point But while we were gathering votes I discovered some real interesting information 

1. Jordan isn’t to be trusted in this game with me anymore, he went around trying to get me to vote Andrew and everyone else to vote me, and Brian was already hectic and scared so instead of telling him all the info about how Jordan told me Andrew, I played off that paranoia and bonded with Brian against Lily 

2. Luke, literally my secret spy to get me tea I love him, he basically came clean with all the Jordan tea of targeting me and it just was amazing 

3. Andrew I feel is closer to me than ever because I was there with him for a hard time, and I leaked info to him about Lily targeting him, and Jordan telling me to vote him out 

Basically I feel in an ok spot, the only people I have to be iffy about at this point is Nic, Drew and Jordan, and if I can somehow go about Jordan leaving soon, that’d be great but we managed to have everything work out I got a feel for the tribe dynamics And Lily got voted out after coming for me

I also just realized I was accidentally interrogating Darian so I’m gonna chill for a little bit But I see him -.- also fucking LOL at Jordan trying to tell me he was the one vote for Steffen when we already know it was Lily hahaha

Well, I'm pretty sure I just shook this entire game up and I have NO IDEA what's going to happen next... I definitely need to win immunity next week or I'm probs screwed 😂 Getting lily out but I voted drew and he's not too happy about it.  He says we are good but... we aren't.. I know it... I really don't think we are good at all Maybe I'm wrong.. idk😭😭😭 I'm so confused

So that tribal was just quite interesting. I mean Darian and I completely got shit done. But now Darian is most likely going to be a target cuz I kinda made him do all my dirty work.... God I am like an awful person (cwl) Well I mean Darian is the one who went to Nic and Brain and suggested our plan, Steffen went to Andrew... I kinda just sat back and watched everything happen, so hopefully no one will completely know I had a semi huge impact on that tribal.

So alot has happened & I'm just gonna use the opportunity to write about it.

Soooo last tribal, I was told me, steffen, darian, brian, ashley would all be voting Drew. However, it turns out they were lying to me. 

Darian? Dead to me. Steffen? Dead to me. I have to admit being lied to and being taken advantage of hurt. But in the end it only showed me the light. I love cutting people out ! Who knew 

I love burning bridges and then using the leftover pieces to build new ones. Cause now, the plan is for me, Jordan (my closest ally), Drew (the person i voted for who i am now voting with), Brian (the person who ive barely spoken to), and Luke (icon) to all vote together and take out one of the Terrivle Trio, aka D*rian/S******/Ashley. 

Also apparently Drew has an idol!! Which is iconic. He could be lying to me but idc bc if he is.. whats new lol If this plan works out I will give every person who voted with me 100 dollars. 

If it doesn't work out I just have more excuses to be mad at the people who betrayed me. 

Also.. me being able to freely express my opinions because I don't give a fuck what happens? a concept. If I get voted out it's no big deal cause I have actual friends in Wonderland. right now im gonna go to steffen and darian and act sorry. will they buy it...... probably not. they're smarter than that! apparently.

So.. tribal is approaching. I have to admit, with everything that has been planned, I will be a bit disappointed to go home. 

Everything is working so far. We have the majority alliance and Steffen/Darian probably have no idea it's Ashley tonight. In fact, Steffen even thinks I've been rallying against Darian. 

I don't wanna get to confident. But I hope this game turns around

Who knew this was gonna be a tie vote! Who knew Brian was gonna change his vote. 

Every moment in this game is an opportunity tho. Even though I've already sent my vote in for Ashley, I'll still use this to chance to make a deal with Darian and let him campaign to me. And with this tied vote, I can still kinda make Steffen think I voted Darian. Which is what he though before tribal. Hopefully this puts me in a good position 

I'm using this to mend bonds with Steffen/Darian, while maintaining my bonds with the others. Minus Andrew idek him 

(i feel like i already sent a confessional about this oh well) 

Anyway now that I actually have something to lose.. I have to be careful of what I say

well thanks to myanmar for screwing up my sleep cycle it seems Ive been out of the voting cycle due to trying to catch up on sleep, so basically its become a Nic and Darian fight, and if I could look at myself at the beginning of the season, I’d pat myself on the back and say, Raven Symone would be proud of you CAUSE YOU CALLED IT.  So while he did save me last round, Im not saving him if Im in minority, its just stupid at this point, so Im at least going to give him the dignity of giving him a heads up, cause he deserves it at this point, but I knew Id probably not go to the end with him, guess I was right, so gotta go with the flow today cause I am too sick to put in effort here
