I think about Azula shooters often and their common refrain of "if Azula hadn't had a mental breakdown, she would've won" and I'm here to tell you that no, she wouldn't have.
There is no universe in which Azula was winning that fight with Zuko (or Katara, for that matter).
Azula spent so much of Book 2 being built up as this deadly terrifying force against whom the heroes are badly outmatched that it can be difficult to catch exactly how quickly Zuko is advancing.
Back up a bit to Book One. For the fearsome exiled crown prince of the Fire Nation, Zuko's not that impressive a firebender. He's not bad by any stretch, and he's able to lay the untrained Sokka and Katara flat pretty easily. Then he gets in the ring with Aang, who is an airbending master, and the difference between a regular bender and a master becomes apparent when Aang literally puts his ass to bed:
Tumblr media
People have attributed this to the fact that no one's fought an airbender in 100 years, but I think it's also worth noting that Aang (a 12 year old from a pacifist nation) has probably never fought anyone before. Like, ever. And yet the second Aang thinks "okay, I'll attack back", the fight's over.
Zuko's got the same genetic predisposition for firebending talent that Azula does, yet it never seems to manifest because of his mental blocks. At the beginning of the series, he's already so beat down that all he really has is conviction, pride, and anger, so even with training from Iroh (the firebending master, thank you very much), he struggles. Yet throughout Book 2, when he has no time to train because he's on the run, he actually seems to advance faster. The fact that his bending is literally tied to his character arc (as his morals become tangled and he has to fight off aforementioned mental blocks) is pretty brilliant. Like, by the time of the Crossroads of Destiny, Zuko getting his ass handed to him by Aang is a pretty consistent feature of the show--he just can't match wits with him.
Hell, at the beginning of the series, he and Iroh (again: the actual firebending master) launch a combined power surface-to-air attack...which Aang casually swats away into a nearby ice wall. Come the Crossroads of Destiny, however, and Zuko by himself launches this bigass fireball that blows through Aang's defenses.
Tumblr media
Zuko advances so quickly that it's scary. That prodigious talent is in him even if it doesn't come through as cleanly as with Azula. Who, by the way, was busy about to get flattened by Katara some few dozen feet away, until Zuko took over and then effectively stalemated her himself.
All of this in retrospect makes it abundantly clear why Zuko's firebending seemed to skyrocket so much when he learned true firebending from the Sun Warriors: it was really the only thing left. He's hard a hard road learning how to fight waterbenders, earthbenders, and airbenders, and even if unconsciously, he's applying the philosophy Iroh taught him about augmenting his bending style with aspects of other styles (see also, the waterbending-like fire whips he uses in the above gif). Once he actually understands fire and how it works, he's got it mastered. Hence why any gap between him and Azula effectively disappears as soon as their next fight--before her friends have betrayed her and her stability goes out the window. There's no real sense of urgency to their fight at the Boiling Rock prison. True, Sokka's presence with the sword helps, but Zuko doesn't look remotely worried and he counters Azula's every attack perfectly.
All her life, Azula only ever learned fire. She was taught by the best people the fire nation can employ, so she knows all the cool tricks, but she's still poisoned by the corrupted firebending practiced in the modern ATLA timeline. Unlike Zuko, who managed to get the basics if nothing else from Iroh (fire comes from the breath, and can be used to survive as much as to kill), Azula has always used fire as a weapon and a means to hurt others. She has no true knowledge of the craft, meaning she's got the same weaknesses as Zhao, she's just better disciplined to the point she can make up for it.
Zuko's victory was a given considering Azula's complete loss of control by the time of Sozin's comet, but even had she been in a perfect mental state, she'd have lost, because in many ways Zuko is simply the better firebender.
Tumblr media
And that's the truth of it.

Boothill x Mechanic!Reader
I was inspired by a post from @buggytales so please show them some love for this amazing idea!
CW: I feel like Boothill is OOC and has my own hcs mixed in since it's written before his release, but that's about it.
Names Used: Darlin', Sweetheart
Tumblr media
For as long as Boothill can remember, he's been the rootin' tootin' cyborg cowboy of the galaxy. The gunslinging galaxy ranger, fighting evil and bringing justice. His mechanical augmentations were a byproduct of his lifestyle, starting off with just an arm, then a leg, or perhaps a part of his chest? It was a blur now, because before he knew it, he was less human than machine. But that never really bothered him, not when he's got the best mechanic this side of the galaxy; you.
You weren't his first mechanic by any means, but you certainly were the first he trusted with all his being. Your shop was small, hidden away in a busy market district of your home planet. It wasn't famous, nor was it busy at any given day, so it always made you wonder what got Boothill to visit your shop. Some would call it fate, or maybe it was mere chance that he stumbled into the store needing urgent repairs. Nevertheless, since that faithful day, he's been your loyal customer ever since. Whether it be a phone call from you asking how he's been, a routine maintenance to make sure his systems are in working order, or repairs from a battle, he was happy hearing you, seeing you, he loved everything about you.
His heart may now be a machine, having a steady, rhythmic beat. But he swears it beats faster when he's close to you.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
"Welcome!" You greet, looking up from your desk behind the counter. A smile forms on your lips once you see it's Boothill. He returns your bright smile with his own as he leans on the countertop. "It's not your maintenance day, so do you need anything repaired?" You ask as you eye him up and down for any visible damages, to which there were none.
"My handgun ain't workin', was hopin' you'd take a look at it."
"You can place it on my table-Oh!" You couldn't help but giggle when Boothill placed his left arm on your desk, his body halfway over the counter.
"What? Ya said to place it on your desk!" He laughed along with you, his heart skipping a beat when he heard your laugh. He's heard it countless times, but it always made his day to hear it.
"Come around here and let me take a look." Boothill nodded and circled around the counter, sitting next to you on the spare stool. You gently took his left arm, using a tool to inspect it further. "It seems the cylinder isn't revolving like it's supposed too... Don't worry, it's an easy fix!" You smiled reassuringly, carefully dismantling the arm and repairing it. "This has been broken for a while now, weren't their any repair shops on the planet you were on?"
"There's plenty, but none of 'em were as good as you."
"If you say so." You playfully rolled your eyes as you continued the repair. That is until a question caught you off guard.
"Why you always so gentle, darlin'?" The cyborg couldn't help but ask as you work. "Am I more fragile than I'm thinkin'?"
"No, no, I'm just... worried I might hurt you, that's all." At this, Boothill laughed heartily, wiping an imaginary tear from his eye out of habit.
"You ain't gonna hurt me darlin'! I trust you, more than any mechanic in the galaxy." Your cheeks flushed red and you avert your gaze, opting to stare at the floor. "Aww what's that look for? It's only the truth."
Taking a deep breath, you look up at him. "T-That's really sweet of you, but why me? I don't think I'm the best, you know." Boothill gave a dismissive wave and took your hand in his.
"You don't gotta be the best, you've taken care of me plenty! I'm trustin' you with all of me, sweetheart, don't ya forget it." He winked and you felt your heart pounding in your chest as your face reddens.
"Thank you..." You take deep breaths and calm your emotions.
"I should be thankin' you." He let go of your hands, allowing you to finish your repair work. A soft smile on your face as you work, he was mesmerized watching you. He couldn't take his eyes off of you for even a moment. Before he knew it, you were already done. Which sadly meant it was time for him to go again.
Aeons did he hate leaving your side, even if he came back in a few months for a check-up or a repair within weeks.
But that's why he cherishes every moment he's got with you working on him. Perhaps one day, when he's not so busy, he'll take you out for a date or two.
"Before you go, I have an idea I have for a new augmentation!" You pulled out a few blueprints from under your desk and showed it to the cowboy. Boothill snorted and tried to contain his laughter.
"Butt lasers? Darlin' I don't think I'm gonna have use for that."
"What? But think about it, what if your arms and legs malfunction and you can't move?"
"What makes ya think anyone's gonna defeat me and I ain't able to kick and shoot 'em?"
"Well, um... It's just a precaution, that's all." Boothill stood up and took your hand, placing a kiss on your knuckles.
"Don't worry too much darlin'. I ain't gettin' roughed up all that much, wouldn't want ya to worry." He thought for a moment. "But if it makes ya happy, feel free to add it next time I visit. Some extra firepower will do me good, even when I got three guns." He slapped the gun on his waist and flexed his metal arms, causing you to giggle.
"Okay then. I'll see you around, space cowboy." With a tip of his hat, Boothill headed out of your store.
"See ya, darlin'."

i like to think julian can hold his breath for a long time due to his augmentations so whenever he wants some quiet or space to think he’ll just lay facedown in a holo-pool.
other people don’t know he can healthily do this though so when miles comes in, asking about some type of access code or whatever, and sees julian motionlessly bobbing in the water he just assumes the worst.
o’brien is blubbering because oh fuck his best friend is /dead/. tears prick at his eyes, his breathing is labored, hands shaking as he goes to com in for medical personnel.
and then julian just rolls over like one of those gas station hot dogs and o-brien actually cries out in relief, which finally gets the CMO’s attention.
anyway, that’s the story of how julian learned that pseudo-drowning yourself where people can just walk in is not the best idea

hi hound, got a question for ya . kind of related to phone sex. Yippee
anyway, so i feel its kind of established in dialtown that being a phone head is equal to being amab, and being a typewriter head is equal to being afab (based on oliver and karens refusal to date types/phones respectively ofc) so i was wondering - what about people born with neither, like karen? would she be considered a form of intersex by society?
followup - how do like. Genetics work? like are they born with specific heads based on their parents (would karen be more likely to have a printer child, for example)?
Appologies for the long and strange questions, your game is rotting me as we speak
anyway, so i feel its kind of established in dialtown that being a phone head is equal to being amab, and being a typewriter head is equal to being afab (based on oliver and karens refusal to date types/phones respectively ofc)
Kiiind of. It's mainly a cultural thing. Basically, the tradition is to assign heads to babies based on the gender assigned at birth. Because of this, someone with a phone head is widely considered by others to be male, and vice versa for typewriters, and this is why many trans people in-universe switch, in the same way as someone might style their hair or change their wardrobe in ours. However, because the heads are modular (and can be changed), it's best to view this correlation as more of a cultural trend rather than a rigid system that everyone follows without exception, one of which I'll explain in the next part of the answer.
what about people born with neither, like karen? would she be considered a form of intersex by society?
Karen actually HAD a typewriter head before she was given the printer. A little bit of background context here: Callum Crown, the inventor of the phone head, invented his first ever cybernetic augmentations (his revolutionary prosthetic limbs) in order to help other disabled people gain mobility and independence. He wanted to give other people the same opportunities that his technology had given him.
When he moved onto the phone head concept, he never forgot about his initial goal of using technology to help people with disabilities. Karen's typewriter head was actually a developmental adaptation. Basically, it allowed a young averbal Karen to produce images, which assisted her in communication before she could learn to speak (and helped her learn to speak sooner than if she had never gotten the upgrade.) While it's quite a modern solution for a disability that wasn't well understood in Crown's time, it's absolutely in line with his philosophies and it's an application he'd be very enthusiastic about, if he was still fully conscious.
Similarly, there are NPCs in-game who have non-standard heads and aren't trans or non-binary, like Rachel at the Dialtown News Network, who has a teleprompter head! In much the same way Karen's head was switched for utility purposes, the same is true for many people who work certain jobs where these heads come in handy. Therefore, I think it's safer to say that someone's head type more or less correlates with their overall identity, with gender, occupation, or any other relevant circumstances factoring into what kind of head they might have.
There's a few NB NPCs in-game and the cultural way many express that is by having hybrid heads, or heads with elements of both phones + typewriters. Take Curie, the curator of the DT Modern Art museum, who has a typewriter head with a phone dial added to it. Gabby (the store clerk who sells phone parts in Uptown Dialtown) also mentions that this practice is common.
followup - how do like. Genetics work? like are they born with specific heads based on their parents (would karen be more likely to have a printer child, for example)?
Genetics don't factor into it outside of the cultural tendency to give phone/typewriter heads based on the gender of the child. Basically, all babies are born with an adapter, and right after birth, the baby is given their new head. Think about how difficult it would be to give birth to someone with a FULL-SIZED typewriter head! There's more than one reason it's set up the way it is, but that's the most important thing to mention. Hope this helps!

Naga!Seonghwa who can’t help but cuddle closer to you, already wrapped around you completely. You’re just so warm and you just smell so good he can’t help it and his tongue darts out and he smirks. He can taste your arousal in the air and he realizes that his touches had the opposite of what he was trying to do, which was cuddle you, but he wasn’t complaining when he knew you tasted just as sweet as you smell
(hopped on my bullshit and brought back gorgon!hwa from the f&s!au)
An easy smile makes its way to your face as you relax in Seonghwa’s embrace. You’re thankful your bed is big enough to accommodate his massive size and let you rest comfortably with him. His serpentine lower half winds around your bare body, encompassing you completely. His arms winding around your waist and holding you against his chest. You don’t feel constrained or confined, merely contained, and comforted by his embrace. You can feel every dip and plane of his chest against you, the rise and fall of his belly against the small of your back with every breath he takes, and the way his skin seamlessly gives way to overlapping scales around his waist. The cool caress of his scales upon your heated skin is more than welcome. The gentle rainfall you conjured brings with it a breeze that blows through the billowing curtains, dousing you in chilling air that has you sinking into your silken bedsheets. The clouds block out the sun, and the heavy darkness makes your eyelids heavy as well. Your hand moves down, making its way to where his hand fits to the curve of your waist. Your fingers lace with his, furthering your connection to him. The only light comes from the flames perched on sconces scattered over the columns, but even that disappears from view as you close your eyes.
Seonghwa enjoys the moment just as much as you, drawn to your warmth. He slowly traces the curve of your neck with his cheek, a hum rumbling in his chest as he does. He’s always been drawn to you, and moments like this remind him of why. Being able to touch you after admiring you from afar for so long is beyond satisfying. He maps out the contours and curves of your beautiful body with his free hand, fleeting touches portraying the reverence he has towards you. You’ve always been beautiful, but up close you’re downright stunning, and he can’t believe he gets to share such an intimate moment with you. Your command over the storms has always left him in a state of awe, and seeing you wield your power in such a gentle way only endears him more. His lips press against the side of your neck, and he smiles at your hums of content, happy to be able to make you happy in such a simple way. His kisses become more intense with every attribute of you he mulls over in his mind, his admiration fueling the passion of his kisses. He can’t get enough of you, can’t get enough of your company, can’t get enough of your scent, oh…your scent.
The sweet musk of your arousal is unmistakable. When his tongue darts out to taste the air, the sweetness of your scent settles with a saccharine zest on his tongue. And he absolutely loves it. A hum rises in his throat, deeper, hungrier, and his hand subtly grips your waist, holding you against him. You gasp softly, excitement flaring in the blink of an eye. You shift ever so slightly in his hold, feeling just how tightly he’s wrapped around you. The way his lips part with every cool kiss he plants upon your skin and the pricking promise of fangs augments the moment with an injection of adrenaline. You can’t help but squirm as tingling titillation flares between your legs like embers. He enjoys the way you squirm more and more with each passing moment, teasing you further to kindle that building lust. Playfully, he nips one of the tender spots on your neck, one that has you letting out a sharp breath that dissipates brittlely in the air like shattered ice, one that has lightning leaving a hairline break in the sky with a flash. In an instant you go still, not from venom, for there was none in his bite. Your excitement left you still in his grasp, letting him take the lead and tease you in every way he knows how. His tongue sweeps over the spot deliberately slowly, letting you revel in the wet drag of his tongue. The passion behind such a lewd, animalistic display, and the brush of his fangs over your neck, already have you yearning for more. And he can tell, for your aroused scent is much thicker now, and his mouth waters as he longs to taste more.
“That’s it my dear, just relax,” He mutters in your ear, syllables sizzling with a sensual hiss, “Just relax, and let me please you.”
Fingertips sneak between your legs, sliding over your inner thighs, inviting them to part for him. Your legs fall open, welcoming him to explore your heat. He easily accepts, already moaning as he feels the wet heat of your centre for himself. Slowly, he strokes your silken folds, feeling you getting more slick by the moment. His lips continue mapping out a trail of kisses over your neck, feeling the way your clit pulses whenever he teases you with quick bites. You moan as two of his fingers push past your entrance, spreading your legs wider, opening yourself up for him. Slowly, he massages you from within, letting you feel the full length of his fingers with every thrust. The palm of his hand caresses your clit as he pumps his fingers, and he growls in your ear as he feels you drip onto him.
Suddenly it’s not enough to just embrace you. He wants to be within you, connected in every possible way, all at once. His cocks emerge from their sheathe, two slick pillars of turgid flesh aching to be inside of you. You feel them right against your leg, pushing against you, as he wordlessly begs for more with the rocking of his hips. He throbs as you pulse, your bodies craving deeper connection, more all encompassing pleasure.
The rainfall becomes a fierce, raging storm as you indulge, filled completely to the brim. He holds you in place with his all encompassing embrace, even as you writhe in bliss and arch and cry out to the stars above. The bed rocks with every thrust, your breath coming out in desperate, choked pants as he overwhelms you with pleasure. A small smirk quirks his lips as he fucks you, thoroughly enjoying his time in the heavens with you.

My Jinx and Sevika Season 2 Theory.
So before the season 2 trailer dropped, we got this picture from Sevika's VA.
Tumblr media
Which was our first look at Sevika for season 2. However, Sevika looks wildly different from what we see in the trailer; so the question is, how does Sevika get from this...
Tumblr media
To this?
Tumblr media
Get comfy this is gonna be a long one.
So from what we perceive from the trailer, there is a possibility of Sevika and Jinx teaming up, this is mainly theorized because Sevika used both Jinx's pistol and has an augmented arm clearly designed by her. I believe that their teaming up is a high possibility because Sevika has always put her bet behind the winning horse.
She used to be loyal to Vander, I'm guessing when he was still the Hound of The Underground and had a righteous anger towards Piltover, but lost faith in him when he became complacent with the Enforcer's mistreatment.
She then teams up with Silco, and even sacrifices an arm for him because he was showing more initiative and actually acting out on his promise to liberate Zaun from Piltover.
And even though we see her continuing to be loyal to Silco, there are hints of discontent with her in some of his decisions. Mainly his inability to see Jinx as a liability and continuing to place her on a high pedestal.
We are led to believe that she has an undying loyalty to Silco because she turns down Finn's offer and willingly kills him, but when Silco asks if she was tempted she says "Not for a worm like him. But he won't be the last".
Many people translate this as her being loyal to Silco but what she's really saying is that she's loyal to him as long as he's willing to follow through on his promise to free Zaun.
So I'm inclined to believe that she won't hold Silco's death against Jinx, she'll be angry of course however once she sees Jinx is not just willing to go to war but lead the march, she'll put her bet behind the winning horse once again.
As much as she views Jinx as a liability, she also knows her strengths and her abilities. I am fully under the belief that Sevika doesn't hate Jinx, she's just frustrated with her as she can see Jinx as a troubled teenage girl who has a severe mental illness. She doesn't treat Jinx with kiddie gloves, she's honest with her and harsh; which doesn't make her Jinx's favorite person but out of everyone in her life Sevika is the only one who is brutally honest with her, and someone like Jinx who despises liars, Sevika's honesty (even if she doesn't want to hear it a lot of the time) is a constant that Jinx can appreciate.
This breeds credence to the theory that the two will team up in season 2.
Another thing noticed and speculated in the trailer is that the two are fighting against someone in an ally way, however, I have to disagree about the location of said fight.
We know that Jinx and Vi's fight is going to be in the ruins of an ancient-looking temple, considering Zaun's history of being colonized by ancient Shurimans, I believe that this temple is a relic from the Shurimans and fully believe that it's a temple dedicated to Janna.
The temple is full of fog, you can see it moving around during the fight between the sisters, and we see Sevika emerge from it like a badass with Jinx's pistol raised.
Now this is where my theory finally comes in.
During Jinx and Vi's fight, Caitlyn (who is hiding amongst the pillars hidden in the shadow and fog) gets caught, yet again, in one of Jinx's bombs. But I believe that Jinx purposely designed these bombs to be non-lethal, she may be furious with Vi but she doesn't want to kill her. Something in Caitlyn will snap and she'll abandon the notion of bringing Jinx in alive will give into her want for vengeance, and will shoot to kill Jinx. Just as she shoots at Jinx, Sevika will shoot at Caitlyn. Vi will see Caitlyn in danger and rush to protect her, and Jinx will be distracted and not see Caitlyn's bullet until it's too late.
Whilst Sevika is fighting off the Enforcers trying to get to Jinx and Vi is worrying over Caitlyn, Jinx will be lying there dying.
This is where it gets maybe a little far-fetched, but bear with me.
Janna, in the Star Guardians universe, recruits Jinx because she sees good in Jinx and wants to give her a chance to be a hero and protector. In Arcane I reckon Janna has been an invisible spectator for however long watching her people slowly die over the years, she doesn't have the strength to help them because people have stopped praying to her.
There's a significant reason why the producers have the sisters fight in this location, and I theorize that the reason is that this is how they plan to introduce a new region to Arcane.
So as Jinx lies dying, going over everything in her life and maybe she wishes that she could've freed Zaun that she could have another chance to complete her mission, and Janna hears her wish.
And drawing power from the multiple hex gems in her vacinity, uses all her strength to teleport Jinx away. Sevika seeing that something is happening to Jinx jumps in to save her, much like what she did with Silco at the cannery; and both of them get yeeted away from the scene.
All Vi and the rest of the Enforcers will see is that another explosion went off and both Jinx and Sevika were just obliterated. Vi will see her sister's blood on the ground and realize that Cailtyn shot her sister and the weight of what just happened would come crashing down on her and she'll walk away from everything.
I know this all sounds like a stretch, but my main motivation for thinking about all this is what Sevika is wearing in the picture at the start of this essay.
She's wearing her signature Ponto, but the design of it looks like something worn in a desert environment; her clothes look Shuriman, the spikes on her right shoulder look like Shuriman accessories and the way she wears her hair looks like she's trying to shield as much as her face as she can from the hot sun.
Tumblr media
I don't know where the theory will go from here, but I think Jinx will get the healing she needs in Shurima and both of them will find allies before heading back to their home to liberate it.
This would have a role reversal for the sisters, with Vi being the one struggling to find her footing and crashing hard whilst hallucinating her loved ones as demons; and Jinx will be the returning daughter to a new Zaun but unlike Vi will be anticipating this change and will have a clearer goal, and zero inclination to look for her sister.
Sorry this was so long, but I had to get this brain rot out of my head.

do you have any zolu fic recs? 🤔
oh boy do i.
my deepest apologies to others who have asked and only gotten "i promise i'll make a post!!" in response. now... here is my list! 36+ fics, including a few series i'm counting as "single" recs, (+3 not counted).
Spin a Yarn by SrirachaBunny
technically a series, this is a time travel fix-it that has expanded outward from its original premise over the years but is still very much THE zolu fix-it of all time.
Of First Mates and Duty by Whatev3rs
“First mates… we devote our lives to our captains. Our entire beings. We live for them, breathe for them. And they expect us not to fall in love?”
Devotion by BasicallyACat
two part canon compliant series that lives rent-free in my mind. this is my go-to "must read for new zolu fans" fic
without guilt by Augment
Luffy hungers, Zoro thirsts. (+ bonus honorable mention to "But Patience Boasts", which is the sanji-pov portion of this fic and is one of my faves of all time)
got all my attention fixed on you (and you're just where you said you'd be) by nevermordor
Luffy looks again at the bitemarks that he left on Zoro’s wrist. Zoro’s usually hurt, one way or another. Sometimes it’s definitely been Luffy’s fault too, but the bitemarks feel different. (honestly, just read all of nevermordor's fics; they are a fave of all time)
to cut your teeth on love by freckledshoulderblades
Zoro meets Luffy and gives himself over wholeheartedly the instant Wadō is placed between his teeth again. Luffy meets Zoro and decides in a heartbeat that Zoro is his.
tidings of war, tidings of joy by queerweather
Zoro is drenched in sweat already, but at least with his haki holding Luffy’s at bay he isn’t suffocating. And Luffy, damn him, looks completely unruffled.
Don't Go Where I Can't Follow by Leoporidae_Lagomorpha
Because before the Pirate King and the World's Greatest Swordsman there were two lost boys in East Blue. How people grow and promises change. (Zoro finds the color of his devotion.)
Fate and death are made in pairs by demonsLOver
"It's not because of his power or skill. He makes enemies and allies fight for his side. Among all the men of the sea, he has the most frightening ability." Mihawk stated to his pupil. (+ honorable mention to "Forged By Fire" as well)
our shores of starlight (come sailing in) by kurgaya
At Shells Town, Luffy does not meet Roronoa Zoro. Instead, he acquires a sword.
let me carry your scars by arkhamsjason
What Zoro didn't expect, as he made himself comfortable, as so many night before, to keep watch along with Luffy, was that he'd finally have the chance to know what his captain's ruined chest would feel like beneath his calloused hand and guilt filled heart.
and i will learn for you by blueacorn
Zoro will begin to realise that there are other ways to protect.
ship to wreck. by thychesters
Nami is the first one to notice something is amiss, but then given her current competition is Luffy and Zoro, it isn’t surprising. (+ honorable mention to "the salt & the sea.", a reincarnation AU!)
unspeakable love by gadgetronic
A character study with a focus on Zoro that explores promises, sacrifices, beginnings, and devotion.
Precipice of a Change by xpiester333x
Zoro stood there. He was on the precipice of something. One wrong move would send him over the edge into an unknown. He needed to step back, but his feet were locked and frozen on spot. (one of the few AUs to make this list! the characterization here is SPOT ON!)
First Mate, Soulmate by kkuroshii
Fighting with Luffy comes as easy as breathing to Zoro, and he can’t help but wonder what accomplishing his dream with this boy would be like
Robin Knows by leopardgeckoz
In which Nico Robin has always known how her captain and first mate feel for one another, and the scenario's in which the rest of the crew discover it.

It had been two weeks, four days, and twenty-something odd hours since Zoro died. (WARNING FOR PERMA-MCD/HEAVY ANGST)

Everything you need to know from Leviathan
First things first: this is Not a story summary of Leviathan. This is merely a collection of all the pieces of characterization, backstory, and worldbuilding that I believe is or will be relevant in Limbus Company.
I encourage everyone who has finished Library of Ruina (or doesn't care about spoilers to that game) to read Leviathan yourselves, as I will be skipping over most of the actual plot of the novel.
Also, due to the nature of Leviathan as the direct sequel to Library of Ruina, some endgame spoilers to that game will inevitably come up. That being said, I will try my best to keep those spoilers as minimal and vague as possible.
Preamble: Done. Let's get into this. Something something long post warning ahead. It's also kind of chaotic and borderline incomprehensible. If I missed something then, uh, whoops.
Event Timeline:
The end of Library of Ruina directly causes an event dubbed "the first miracle" by some, and "the second passing of White Nights" by others, during which the people killed in the Library would begin returning to the City as if nothing happened.
An orphanage in the Backstreets of District 22 (V Corp's) was at the epicenter of this event, being destroyed in the process and causing the Ring to take interest in the children raised there.
The events of Leviathan follow half a year after this event, and seem to take place over the course of at least a few days. It's as of yet unclear how much time has passed between the end of Leviathan and the beginning of Limbus Company.
Vergilius:
Vergilius comes from District 22 (V Corp's), a Nest filled with wide water canals and boats that make use of them, making it somewhat reminiscent of Venice.
Vergilius used to be the operator of a highly-experienced and skilled Fixer Office. The lowest Grade Fixer at that Office is Grade 3 until a rookie joins them during the events of Leviathan. This Office seems to be dissolved by the end of Leviathan after half of the Fixers working for it die.
Vergilius's title, the Red Gaze, is a stealth pun in Korean. The word used for Gaze is a homophone to the characters used in an epiphet meaning Immortal Poet.
The red eyes Vergilius is named after appear to have a certain kind of aura to them, which causes him to draw attention to himself and be easily recognised. For missions where stealth is involved, Vergilius has a special pair of glasses to make his gaze less recognisable.
Also, Vergilius owns whole-ass calling cards with his Fixer title and a portrait in a Roman-inspired style.
As a Color Fixer, Vergilius is extremely strong and fast, being able to crack the ground underneath his feet when running at full sprint and literally cut through buildings. In fact, Vergilius's body is heavily augmented with artificially woven muscle fibers, which Vergilius compares to hydraullic cylinders and motors in how it feels to use them, though they're not literally mechanical. Despite that level of power, he's noticeably less experienced or skilled than another Color Fixer seen in Leviathan - Iori, the Purple Tear.
Speaking of her, Vergilius appears to know quite a bit about her, including her name, what happened to her in Library of Ruina, and what one of her goals is. She's also implied to have taught Vergilius a technique called Shin that gets introduced later in Leviathan. Also, Iori calls him a junior, implying a difference in either age or experience between the two. Oh, and he also knew Roland.
In addition to knowing those people, Vergilius appears to have also known Carmen before she died. He recognises the nickname Carmen uses for him within the Light as the one she used for him back when they knew each other. Also, back then, Vergilius's weren't as they are now, implying they've known each other before Vergilius was a Color Fixer.
For some time during his work as a Fixer, Vergilius has had the ability to sense "Flow". A fate-like pressure that he sees as trails of shadows and light, pointing him towards a destination he doesn't know. It's a force he notably struggles to resist, only being able to by following dim Flows, rather than the slow but bright Flow. However, doing so merely brings ruin to Vergilius's life, as the dim Flow inevitably guides him back to the slow Flow.
For ten years, Vergilius has been visitting an orphanage in the local Backstreets, donating money and goods and spending time with the children there. He even keeps an old photograph of him with all the orphanage's residents on him.
Before he found the orphanage for the first time however, Vergilius would go on rampages and kill people he believed were contributing to the horrible current state of the City. One of those rampages involved the slaughter of a whole Syndicate, the leader of which was Lapis's father. It's heavily implied that all the children within the orphanage landed there as a direct result of Vergilius's actions.
Vergilius is consistently shown to be stoic and emotionally distant, yet deeply caring underneath his aloof exterior. This is most clearly shown through his relationship with Garnet, the previously mentioned rookie who was raised at the previously mentioned orphanage. Though Vergilius denies Garnet's claims that he raised him, and regularly thinks about how Garnet's sentimentality is going to get him killed, yet he also can't help but feel proud of Garnet in moments where he truly shines, care a lot about Garnet's safety, and feel horrible guilt when he fails to protect him.
Back during his rampaging days, Vergilius is unable to show mercy, with his "attempt" to do so involving giving the last survivor a cut that would let them survive for a few hours, in gratitude for giving him a code to the door. Inversely, current day Vergilius appears to have softened, as his gladius has a heating mechanism that immediately cauterizes the wounds it inflicts. This ensures non-fatal wounds remain not fatal, even if leaving his target alive could cause him issues later on.
Vergilius's motives for taking care of the kids at the orphanage despite being the one who orphaned them are as complex as they are layered. Guilt is clearly a part of that, as Vergilius believes there's no reason for him to see Lapis again when Garnet offers to take him along for his meeting with her. Another part of it might have been Vergilius secretly wishing that one day, one of the kids would realize what he'd done and take their retribution... however it's unclear how "canon" that particular motivation is due to it only being brought up in a vision of a Mirror World. The orphanage was also a reprieve from his former reality filled with wails and begging for mercy. It was a place of warmth, filled with voices of delight waiting for him every time. At the same time, it was a source of hope for him. A place where he could redeem himself, to raise children who could live with the heart he couldn't have, and who could potentially change the City with their virtues alone. All of these motivated Vergilius to cover up and forget about his true goal. One he's been actively burrying during his visits at the orphanage.
That goal? Redacted from the viewer. The first explicitly set up mystery in Leviathan. However, we know that it is directly tied to how Vergilius wishes to change the City.
Vergilius believes that the City is deeply wounded, with its injuries having festered for a long time. He believes that the way to change it is to continue spilling blood, never letting it dry out. To try and pierce through the City's thick shell into its wounded core. When describing the world he wants, he says it's "a world that can only be understood once you feel it with your whole body".
After a talk with Carmen, Vergilius effloresces into his E.G.O, which allows him to wield blood as both a weapon and armor. It also allows him to become one with pools of blood, however he would be unable to leave them if they were to dry while he's inside. However, the usage of his E.G.O is limited by the amount of other people's blood he has available to him. If he were to run out, he'd be forced to use his own, dying painfully in the process.
Also, Vergilius keeps coming up with one-liners when beating people up. It's kinda funny.
At the end of Leviathan, Vergilius is invited into Limbus Company, being promised to give him Lapis (who had been replaced by Charon) and Garnet (who has been reduced to a tiny glowing jewel) back. Thinking back on his past, Vergilius accepts, though the story ends before we get to see the exact terms of his employment.
Charon:
Previously, Charon was known as Lapis, and was one of the kids at the orphanage Vergilius would regularly visit. She was especially close friends with Garnet, who would later become a Fixer and join Vergilius's Office. In fact, Garnet notes how Lapis wouldn't usually open up to anyone but him, and when they did talk she would often talk about Vergilius. She's also noted to not be a fan of studying.
Lapis ended up at the orphanage after Vergilius killed her father during his slaughter of the Syndicate he led. While we don't get to know much about her father, we do know he cared deeply for her, to the point his last words were calling out her name.
In a flashback to her childhood, we learn that Lapis would always suck on bitter candy as she's able to preserve it and suckle on it little by little, whereas sweet things melt away much sooner. She follows this anecdote of hers up by revealing her wish to "try all the flavors in the world" when she grows up.
After aging out of the orphanage, Lapis got a job at a fruit-harvesting company. During the events of Leviathan, Lapis has decided to meet up with Garnet at a private location. However, the area turned out be occupied by Syndicate members, including that of the Ring, and Lapis was kidnapped to be used in the Ring's experiments with Mirror World technology.
At the end of Leviathan, Lapis turned out to be the only of the "gems" to have survived the experiments. However, she did so because she was the only successful one. Her former identity was completely erased, replaced by that of Charon. Initially, Vergilius is hesitant to make contact with her, feeling like keeping his distant will save both of them from pain. However, he relents when Charon finds a still living piece of the jewel Garnet had turned into.
Gubo:
Gubo is one of the researchers at N Corp, and during the events of Leviathan he comes to an auction held by the Ring for the sole purpose of gaining access to their Corridor and retrieving Aseah.
His connections to a Wing allow him to casually bid 10 billion Ahn like it's nothing. Gubo is also notably frustrated when the auctioneer appears to be breaking their own rules, trying to convince them that doing so would put their gallery in ill repute.
To enter the Corridor despite his failure at the auction, Gubo is willing to sacrifice the lives of the people that had accompanied. Notably, Vergilius is able to tell that Gubo did no fighting himself due to his appearance, reckoning he merely hid while others fought in his stead.
Gubo is someone who's willing to keep himself calm and composed regardless of the situation. He's constantly calculating ways to reach his goal, willing to do anything and pay any price to do so. However, that composure is said to reflect insecurity, obsession, and yearning. He is shown to take some ridiculous risks in pursuit of his goals, attempting to attack Vergilius twice despite being clearly outmatched against a fucking Color.
Despite N Corp being at potential odds with the Ring, due to them kidnapping Aseah, Gubo doesn't act hostile towards the Ring's members outside of getting rid of those who were directly standing in his way.
Aseah:
During Leviathan, Aseah is the main researcher working on the Mirror World technology for the Ring. He's specifically working on modifying and tuning an invention made by Young-Ji, the Glass Window.
By that point in time, Aseah had already joined N Corp, however the Ring kidnapped him to use his knowledge for their own gain. Despite such seemingly dire circumstances, Aseah does not seem bothered to be working for the Ring in the slightest.
Aseah is a cold and usually emotionless individual who only cares about his research. In fact, he only ever shows emotions, specifically passion, when realizing he's made a breakthrough or describing how the technology he's researching works. He's easily swayed to risk other people's lives for the sake of pushing his research even further.
One of this main motives for using the Glass Window is to create a Singularity to surpass Yi Sang's creation, as well as any other competing technology of this kind. Despite his self-imposed rivalry with Yi Sang, Aseah still calls him a friend.
At the end of Leviathan, Aseah is successfully retrieved by Gubo . However, a question is posed: for both to get back out of the Corridor, Aseah must be able to know how to navigate it. If that's the case and he could have escaped this whole time, why didn't he? He must have had reasons to not fly away, even though his cage was wide open. Add that to the mystery counter.
Limbus Company:
Limbus Company shows up at the very end of Leviathan, being a new enough Company for Vergilius to have never heard of them before.
A Special Operations Team from a department called LCA raids the Ring's lab, specifically searching for Vergilius. A woman with hair that seems white from far away, but appears graysih close up, approaches him. This is revealed to be Faust, and she's the one who gives Vergilius an offer.
Work for Limbus Company, and we can bring Lapis and Garnet back.
The Ring:
The Ring are a Syndicate that are said to only believe what they see with their own eyes, and are dedicated to the creation and display of various types of art. They also hold auctions for various pieces.
Some of the Ring's art falls within our understanding of it, such as paintings and sculptures. A large amount of it however includes acts of extreme violence or otherwise cruel behavior.
Many of the lower-ranking members of the Ring and Backstreets residents under their protection are considered to be akin to students, being graded on their pieces and taking art exams. While the Ring does allow resits on their exams, flunking too many times will result in death. In such an environment, a lack of inspiration causes people to have mental breakdowns.
As far as we've seen, the Ring hold two different types of art galleries, which I'll refer to as Syndicate-facing and Public-facing respectively.
Syndicate-facing art galleries are structured more like schools, complete with classrooms and suspicious "art" exhibits within the halls. One of those exhibits we see are "statues" of people with animal heads. However, these statues are actually sill living people that are forced to stay completely still under the threat of violence, or "scolding". Oh, and those people also had their mouths and ears sewn shut. This particular exhibition is revealed to be a part of a test that the Ring was holding that night.
Public-facing art galleries look more akin to modern art galleries we'd see in our world, and their lower floors are accessible to pretty much any public person. These floors are filled with more standard types of art, like paintings and sculptures. The top floor of these galleries is considered the VIP floor, where auctions are held and the true disturbing nature of the Ring is shown to the guests there.
During the auctions, every participant has a veil put over their head, and they are to bow in respect when the one holding the auction enters the stage. The art pieces sold on these auctions can be anything from paintings of real slaughters that took place in the City, to objects made out of or containing pieces of actual people, to straight up dancers stuck eternally dancing in glass stages in which time flows slower. Additionally, the person who wins the bid on the "meister's most cherished work" will be allowed into the Ring's Corridor.
At the time of Leviathan's events, the Ring not only has access to the Corridor, but also Mirror World technology in the form of the Glass Window.
A secret research lab was kept hidden within one such Corridor, where the Ring would test Mirror World technology on "gems" - young people who came from the orphanage at the epicenter of the Miracle. These experiments involved these people experiencing many Mirror Worlds at once within their mind, with those people physically shattering if pushed too far.
The Ring's goal with their research of the Mirror Worlds is to open as many Rifts to as many of them as possible, with one of the high-ranking Ring members saying they wish to open ten thousand rifts at minimum.
This plan appears to be thwarted by the end of Leviathan. It's vaguely implied that N Corp and/or Limbus Company seized the tech in the Ring's possession, leaving it unclear if the Ring still has access to it currently.
Over the course of Leviathan, we learn of two different high positions within the Ring: Docents and Maestros. Each can be identified by the kind of ring they wear on their ring fingers. Also, all of the ones we've seen thus far are gender non-conforming as fuck.
Docents are responsible for taking care of and monitoring the art galleries. Notably, they are responsible for guiding guests and giving lectures on the lower floors of their public-facing galleries. These lectures appear to involve explaining the ideals of their Maestros. Docents wear two-coiled rings that extends down the top of their hands and coils around their wrists.
Maestros are responsible for holding the auctions and appear to have a high amount of control over the Ring's actions. They wear three-coiled rings. They also notably act a lot more according to what they believe is true art, as opposed to the Docents who can still be swayed by money and social standard. As an example, Maestro Jumsoon decides to give his most prized artpiece not to the person bidding billions of Ahn, but to the person who convinces him they can complete the piece due to being personally involved in what it represents.
N Corp:
The physical location of the Ring's secret lab appears to be within N Corp's District. However, due to its entry point being connected to the Corridor, it's unable to be accessed from outside the Corridor.
One of N Corp's main source of income and culture are so-called suicide vending machines, or vending machines that dispense canned experiences that specifically allow a person to experience suicide. This bit of technology is considered both amazing and condemnable, and is said to be one of the main reasons people move to N Corp's Nest.
N Corp Taboos are upheld vehemently. Recorded footage of that secret lab, even without knowing it's located in N Corp, would result in Taboo Hunters being sent out over the breaking of the Nest filming taboo. They are highly efficient, going after everyone who had seen the recording before finally retrieving the footage.
M Corp:
M Corp's full name is MDM Enterprise. In Leviathan, we see M Corp do business with the Ring through delivering their product to them - an entire moonlight stone.
A moonlight stone delivered in a massive box filled with a flesh-like cushion around the stone. Opening the box requires using an unlocking mechanism composed of multiple various levers. Everyone present in the same room as the box during its opening are required to wear ear plugs, while those actually opening it also require airway protection. Upon being pulled open, the stone needs to be cut out of the flesh cushion using a knife.
If sufficient ear protection is not worn during this process, the sound the stone emits while being forced out of its container will cause all that hear it to experience a "wave of hiraeth". This is shown as a sort of dissociative state where the person rambles about the ocean being their home and family, and how they need to return to it.
The moonlight stones themselves appear similar in shape to large pearls. The Ring appears to use them by putting them in translucent containers, where the stone is attached to multiple electrodes and tubes for a yet unclear purpose.
The Light:
After the second passing of White Nights, people would begin transforming into forms similar to cocoons or eggs. This happens when a person becomes aware of how unbearable the world around them is, causing them to retreat from reality.
When seperated from their bodies, people establish their... Redacted. Yet another mystery. However, it's implied to be something along the lines of the ideal world they wish to create, or the dream they wish to make true. If they manage to set this Redacted and endure the process, they can be born anew as a Distortion (or potentially with Effloresced E.G.O). If they can't their bodies are seized by their sins, resulting in the creation of a Peccatulum.
This process is pointed out as being different to the process of Distorting that we're used to seeing, though it's not yet unclear to what extent.
The inside of the Light as utter stillness, shimmering as if somethered in light. When someone is inside the Light, Carmen attempts to guide them towards a specific conclusion, acting kind and trying to absolve them of any guilt over their actions, while showing an utter lack of pity or genuine feeling. She's able to see past the facades people put up, directly looking into what they have been through. She uses that knowledge to direct people towards realizing their true desires and wishes.
Carmen is able to meet and talk with people whose hearts "crack". Who are too overwhelmed with their emotions in the moment. When she discovers a person's true wish has been buried and hidden away, she acts as if the act is so painful that it hurts her by proxy. She uses this opportunity to offer these people the power to create they consider right, one only for their own eyes.
She claims that she's helping everyone paint the City with their own colors, much like the Light, in which all colors perfectly blend together. When it's pointed out to her that doing so would be impossible, due to everyone's colors being different and thus it being impossible for them all to exist together in perfect harmony, Carmen responds by saying everyone should be dedicated to protecting and fighting for the sake of their own world, even if it means fighting the entire world itself.
Carmen describes the process of Distorting or Efflorescing E.G.O as becoming a "self unbound by the eyes and standards of the City", with Carmen attributing the latter to being Ayin's idea. Carmen says that she believes the final destination of everyone's ambitions is Love, specifically unconditional Love towards oneself, as the only person that can truly understand and love them is themself. This is where Carmen and Ayin come into conflict. Ayin believes people should be able fight using clothes and tools, holding the human form in high regard. Carmen, on the other hand, sees that as unnecessary moderation, and argues one should express their love through their body, so that it and their heart can become one.
Effectively, Carmen is trying to guide people to only caring about themselves and their desires, disregarding everything around them. She does so through a "friendly, yet ruthless pressure", by offering the seemingly perfect solution of absolute self-love at the cost of being blind to one's reality. She knows what the "right" choice is, and will be disappointed if one were to choose the other option, but she won't stop anyone from pursuing their desires even if their way is different from what she's envisioned.
...There is a purpose to it all. A goal Carmen has for herself. After all, she's a person too. It's another bit of information that's redacted, setting it up as yet another mystery, but we do have a hint towards what it could be. Somehow, a person who was given power by Carmen failing to fight for their wish appears to contribute towards Carmen's personal purpose.
Speaking of that, Leviathan reveals another, more violent way to defeat a Distortion. By proving the fundamentals of a Distortion's beliefs wrong, by breaking the foundation upon which their wish was built, the Distortion begins to fall apart. With nothing left to its form but vague concepts, an Abnormality is born, tearing out of the Distorted person's body and killing them instantly.
Peccatulae:
The Peccatulae are the result of the process enabled by the second passing of White Nights, in which a person retreats into a cocoon-like form upon finding the world too unbearable and faces an ordeal within. If the person fails the ordeal by not being able to find a wish for which's sake to return to their world, their body is left to be fed on by their sins. This results in their bodies transforming into manifestations of those sins - the Peccatulae. Once this transformation takes place, it cannot be reversed.
Peccatulae are not Distortions, as they are what happens when one lacks the strong desire needed to either Distort or Effloresce E.G.O. They are also not Abnormalities, as unlike them the Peccatulae can be killed.
The Peccatulae visually lack any humanity they may have had before the transformation. At the same time though, the cries they let out are compared to that of humans burdened by life, by the sin of bearing sin.
Those cries are also seemingly able to affect one's mind, causing memories associated with the Peccatulum's Sin Affinity to resurface.
The Glass Window:
The Glass Window is a piece of technology created by Young-Ji, which was co-opted by Aseah and studied by the Ring. This technology is considered to be a Singularity by Wings and Grade 1 Fixers.
The main function of the Glass Window is superimposing Mirror Worlds onto whatever is viewed through it, though in a blurry state. It's noted to be less stable than Yi Sang's Mirror technology, but in exchange it's capable of superimposing a much larger number of Worls at the same time.
The amount of Mirror Worlds and their intensity can be controlled through modifying the Glass Window's Refraction Rate. A higher Refraction Rate allows more overlayed Worlds to stack, at the cost of "yielding more of one's heart to the Glass Window".
Surviving high Refraction Rates without physically shattering involves attaining focus - a process involving perishing one's heart without killing it.
Most weapons cannot damage the Glass Window.
The Corridor:
The Corridor is a piece of technology that the Ring owns during the events of Leviathan. It's a liminal, seemingly-infinite space that can connect to places all over the City. As long as the area they wish to link has an exit, a matching entrance will appear within the Corridor.
Many of the doors within the Corridor are locked using mental locks, to be able to enter them one needs to think specific mental keywords as they attempt to open the door.
Inside the Corridor itself, electronics such as video recorders and ear pieces appear to malfunction.
Despite the Corridor being a mostly linear space, the complex and intricate rules by which its passages connect make it more than possible to get lost within. As such, navigating the Corridor is usually done when accompanied by a guide.
To navigate the Corridor by oneself, one needs to always remember two things - their starting point, and their destination. Knowing those two points will allow one to be able to find their way by feeling which directions to take. This is due to a phenomenon called Reversion of Causality, a phenomenon which some Singularities take advantage of as well.
Breaking through a wall in the Corridor leads to a massive hall made of constantly shifting purposeless surfaces lined within even more purposeless doors. Staying within this outer hall is dangerous, as one would become stuck here if the doors within the Corridor reassembled themselves.
Shin and Mang:
Shin is a technique Vergilius learned from (who's implied to be) the Purple Tear. Shin involves completely relinquishing the control of one's body to one's mind, specifically one's memories and the feelings associated with them. When Shin is used, it causes glowing rings to appear around the weapon (or body part if weaponless) one is using to fight. The glow of these rings is constantly emphasized to be that of the moon.
Vergilius describes Shin as "the power of Light", and "the power of sin".
To use Shin, one needs Mang (referred to as luna/lunae when not a proper noun), often multiple of them. Using Mang is described as filling onces emptied minds with dense and heavy memories, then letting the lunae of these recalled feelings guide one's movements.
Random Miscellanous Bits of Info:
It's a tradition in District 8 (H Corp's) to gift apples on Christmas Eve, to wish the giftee a peaceful night.
Cellphones in the City seem to be at a stage in-between Iphones and slightly older smartphones. The screen only takes up roughly half of the phone, but it appears to be a touchscreen due to the lack of mechanical buttons.
Related to that, payphones also exist in the City. The District the payphone is in gets shown to the one recieving a call from one.
The Seven Association holds seminars for new and aspiring Fixers that teaches them the basics, such as information about major Syndicates, Singularities, spatial awareness, etc. The Seven Association also holds Fixer qualification tests.
Higher education is something one can pursue in the City.
There are still video recorders that use videotapes in the City.
Cognition-warping ID Cards are a thing within the City. However, they are noted to only be useful for brief deception.
One of the canonical Mirror Worlds is literally our world.
Airplanes don't exist in the City.

Romantic Yan! Mauga x gn!reader concept
I'D LOVE TO. He comes out on my birthday so this is a bit special for me/hj. Hope you enjoy my take on him! Here's me pouring general thoughts down ^^ (Love you for your Overwatch requests, istg).
If it sounds like I'm self-indulgent, I probably am, my bad.
Yandere! Mauga Concept
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Manipulation, Abuse of power, Kidnapping, Murder/Death, Threats, Intimidation, Violence, Possessive, Restraints, Dehumanization mentioned, Sadism, Forced relationship.
Tumblr media
I feel like there's a lot of scary things about Mauga.
First of all, he's huge.
He's been augmented from a near death experience to be huge and powerful.
His name even means "mountain".
Then there's the fact he takes joy in doing what he does... literal murder for Talon.
He even is oddly chipper/chill with his language.
Even when threatening others he sounds so... excited? Friendly?
He seems so nice to be around... but he's still a murderer.
He'd act the same with you.
Mauga calls everyone "friend".
If he met you he'd immediately be overly friendly.
He'd call you friendly terms, like "friend", "buddy", and "pal".
But if he felt flirty he'd probably call you by some sort of nickname.
I'm not sure what he'd call you exactly but maybe "Teuila"? It's the national flower of Samoa (from what I saw)
He could also call you the classic nicknames such as "babe", "baby", "dear", "doll", etc.
It's just "Teuila" seems more unique to him.
Mauga is another one who likes the size difference between you.
It serves as a good way to intimidate you and he likes it.
Mauga is a sadistic sociopath who doesn't appear affected by the crimes he commits.
In fact he depicts himself as "carefree".
Mauga could be the type to slaughter innocents then look at you with a big grin.
He doesn't mind if you fear him.
He'd part of Talon... he loves the fear.
He knows he's a bad person and doesn't mind.
His apathy towards the life of others is what makes him terrifying.
He only really cares about you, his little Teuila.
If I'm correct, Mauga canonically has sharp teeth.
Which means he would certainly bite you.
He may also like to hold/manhandle you a bit.
He likes the power and size he has over you.
Oh, fighting him a bit?
How do you like being pinned to a wall?
In his obsession he is naturally rough.
Mauga likes to have everyone know you're his.
No one should touch you unless they want a Talon agent breathing down their neck.
You could be a civilian or a fellow member of Talon.
Doesn't matter to him.
He plans to keep you all the same.
Would take you to bars when he could find them.
He sees it as a way to bond, probably.
Mauga could isolate you, yet showing you off can be quite exciting.
A silent challenge for others to take what's his... so he can have an excuse to break their bones, most likely.
He isn't one for "messing with your mind" manipulation.
More like... brute force.
He doesn't want to intentionally hurt you.
It's mostly just enough to show his mark on you, not to break anything.
He knows you're fragile.
If you tried to escape this mountain of a man... good luck.
He found Baptiste with ease when he left Talon.
He can find you.
He'll hunt you down and pick you from wherever you plan on staying.
He deserves to have you in his eyes.
You may cry or scream, but any hit against hist chest just makes him chuckle.
Your hits tickle him... he finds it adorable.
His "Cage Fight" ability implies chains.
This is just being clever, but imagine as punishment he chains you to him?
Now you can't run... he'll just drag you.
If anything you begin to look like a pet to members of Talon.
But they allow it.
They don't need Mauga becoming a problem.
Obviously he is quite possessive.
Loves your touch, your warmth, in a weird way your smell.
He may mark you but tries to treat you as delicately as a flower.
Like the nickname he affectionately calls you....
Mauga doesn't care if you miss your family when he drags you back to him.
He feels things would be better if you forget them.
He may end up doing something bad if you don't... wouldn't want that now, would we?
Overall, Mauga is a powerful and possessive man.
He is unfazed by what he does to obtain you... even when it includes others losing their lives for helping you leave him.
Mauga loves the challenge... even finds it exciting.

I've... been watching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood again.....
Blurbles about all the hermits under the cut!
Rendog: Wolf Chimera. He has a human form he rarely uses, and generally gets away in public with the glaringly obvious lie of "Oh all this hair? It's a... uh... rare skin condition." It does help that his best friend is a known doctor and somewhat mad scientist. Shortly after he was created he killed his creator and stole their philosopher stone, entrusting it to Doc, a friend he had before his chimera-fication. He and Mumbo came from the same facility.
Docm77: Military and Cosmetic Automail Engineer. Started off in Rush Valley and, once he decided he knew enough about automail, started to work his way up through the military building specialized prosthetics. He's been trying to launch a body modification program for years, viewing it as a more humane was of augmenting humanity than the fleshcraft that comes with human transmutation. He was, understandably, horrified when Ren showed up on his doorstep one day as a chimera.
Bdubs: Istvalan Creation Alchemist. Bdubs is a freelance alchemist not associated with any military powers -- and he's trying desperately to keep it that way. His creations are intricate, and he specializes in a wide variety of materials. He's best known for his experimental [and extremely temperamental] "Pretty-Alchemy", where he McGuivers transmutation circles and equations on how they "feel" instead of how alchemically sound they are.
Welsknight [and Helsknight]: Soul-bound armor. A pair of swordsmen who were forced into a suit of armor to guard the chimeric facility that created so many monsters. Welsknight, the brains of the operation, is situated in the helmet while Helsknight, the stronger fighter, is bound to the chestplate. They spent a lot of time bickering amongst each other, but when their goals happen to align, they are a force to be reckoned with. When their facility was destroyed, they were ordered to kill the escaping chimeras -- until a very charismatic Ren convinced them to flee instead.
False: Military sniper. She spends a lot of time fending off Doc's advances [ie. automail modifications to help her shoot and aim better]. She's worked her way up through the ranks because of her skill, but her general aversion to leading and governing keeps her out of the upper echelons of Central Command. Instead she finds herself bouncing between command stations whenever uprisings occur in Amestris. She was one of the military officers sent to respond to the chimera facility's collapse. When she recognized Ren among the people escaping, she found there was "too much smoke" to take proper aim at the escaping creatures. She was demoted shortly after the event, not that it bothered her much.
Grian: The Updraft Alchemist. One of the few alchemists who have ever taken up Doc on his offer for cosmetic automail. The wings attach to nerves in his shoulder blades, and after several years of tweaking, actually respond to his movements. He can't fly with them per-se, they function more like an incredibly sensitive glider -- which works just fine for Grian, since he specializes in temperature alchemy, causing dramatic updraft/downdrafts. He was not at the chimera facility event, but has become good friends with many of the people involved through Doc -- he spends so much time getting his wings repaired after his various crashes, he almost lives in Doc's work room.
Tangotek: The Fuse-Metal Alchemist. He mostly uses alchemy in welding and crafting, though he's been known to create fire and weapons on the fly when he needs to. As a state alchemist, he's expected to be a living weapon on some level -- and his powerful alchemy definitely helps with that, though he's best at making walls and fortresses than he is at real standing combat. No one knows how he got ahold of his philosopher's stone -- in fact, most people don't even know he has one. He only uses it when he feels like his life is threatened [or needs a good kick to make something truly impressive]. He used to work in the chimera facility, making containment for the more volatile creatures. He's absorbed a lot of the theory on human transmutation, but has yet to use it.
Mumbo: Lizard Chimera and Chimera Expert. Mumbo's first miraculous use of transmutation was to turn himself into a chimera. Unfortunately, lizards aren't quite as smart as people are, so it took some time to relearn the formula and materials involved. He was subject 0 at the chimera facility, and, once he'd regained his wits, helped in the experimentation into chimera crafting -- though he was under the impression all the subjects were willing volunteers like he was... oh dear. He was the one who orchestrated the escape, and, having befriended Ren by then, escaped with him when the facility collapsed. He swears he'll never do human transmutation again -- except maybe on himself. Like, being able to climb up walls is nice and all, but imagine what he could do with bird wings? Or a bull's strength? Or--

Darts as a metaphor for gay sex between Miles O'Brien and Julian Bashir
Yes, I'm serious. Bear with me.
Miles and Julian first play darts in season three, episode 16, "Prophet Margin."
Tumblr media
They are playing darts because Julian was getting tired of racquetball—since Miles's wife has been away, they have played 106 games of racquetball. ("Rivals," the episode where we first see them play racquetball, make a strong case for that being a sexual metaphor as well. So basically Keiko is gone and Miles has been… "Playing with Julian" a lot 👀)
Tumblr media
There's some good natured mockery/flirting, and Julian ends up throwing off Miles's concentration by mentioning his wife.
In the next episode, season three episode 17, "Visionary," Miles convinces Quark to put a dartboard in his bar. Quark argues that no one has ever come in asking for a dartboard, but Miles assures him people will.
To me, this reads like trying to convince someone that marketing specifically to queer people is important even if no queer people have ever complained about not being marketed to.
Tumblr media
Miles and Julian play darts twice during this episode as well, but nothing particularly gay happens (outside of them being gay for each other in general).
Season three, episode 24, "Shakaar," has Miles playing darts with various guys on the station until he ruins his shoulder and needs to have Julian perform surgery to repair it.
Tumblr media
Well that's what you get for playing with people who aren't your boyfriend. It's called karma.
In the fourth season premiere, "The Way Of The Warrior," Miles and Julian invite our old buddy Worf to play with them.
He throws a dart, and it goes extremely deep into the board.
Tumblr media
The boys look intimidated. And rightfully so. As Jadzia will later (happily) learn, sex with a Klingon is anything but gentle.
(I wish he had thrown two darts, wink wink.)
Keiko returns in "Ascension," season four, episode 17, thereby ending Miles's "year as a bachelor," as Julian calls it.
Tumblr media
Miles spends more time with his family, even trying to teach his daughter to play darts (in this context, darts with Molly does not represent sex, it just represents him trying to be a good father and husband and not having sex with his boyfriend). But he is clearly missing Julian; look at the way he longingly gazes at the outfit they wore together:
Tumblr media
Julian has also been unsuccessfully playing darts with other people, and he and Miles lament that it just isn’t the same without each other. Eventually, Keiko arranges for them to spend extra time with each other because Miles is so depressed.
Season five, episode 16, "Dr. Bashir, I Presume?" reveals that Julian is augmented and has exceptional strength and hand eye coordination, among other things. This makes Miles realize Julian has been letting him win at darts all this time.
Tumblr media
He is understandably upset that his boyfriend has been… uhhh… "faking it" 👀 and makes him play from 3 feet back to level the playing field (Miles metaphorically using marital aids).
He also suggests Julian play blindfolded. 👀
The next, and last, significant time they play darts is in season seven, episode 23, "Extreme Measures."
This is the episode in which Miles and Julian go through a harrowing ordeal which forces them to finally acknowledge that they love their significant others, but they like each other more.
At the end of the episode, the boys are playing darts in the bar. They are drinking. Miles is struggling with his sexuality at the realization of how close he and Julian are.
Tumblr media
He says he needs to go home to Keiko. This is the conversation they have, word for word:
"She's a hell of a woman."
"That's why you love her."
"Mmm. That's right. That's why I love her."
There is no eye contact. It is awkward as hell. Is very obviously Not About Keiko, but rather Miles's last ditch attempt to avoid admitting that he would rather be with Julian right now.
So he leaves. Julian is alone, sad.
Then Miles pops back into frame. He has reconsidered. "Do you want to come?"
They leave the bar together, but not before Julian throws one last dart.
It's a bull's-eye. He scores, and, if you believe my metaphor, it won't be the first time he scores that night.

This is maybe an odd thing to put on a good news/reasons for hope blog, but I've also had people tell me that they find this info really, genuinely comforting, so I'm putting it up. Also, further understanding could do a ton to advance medicine, esp. re: allergies, autoimmune diseases, and depression. You can read more about this at the link.
"More than half of your body is not human, say scientists.
Human cells make up only 43% of the body's total cell count. The rest are microscopic [co-contributors].
Understanding this hidden half of ourselves - our microbiome - is rapidly transforming understanding of diseases from allergy to Parkinson's.
The field is even asking questions of what it means to be "human" and is leading to new innovative treatments as a result.
"They are essential to your health," says Prof Ruth Ley, the director of the department of microbiome science at the Max Planck Institute, "your body isn't just you."
No matter how well you wash, nearly every nook and cranny of your body is covered in microscopic creatures.
This includes bacteria, viruses, fungi and archaea (organisms originally misclassified as bacteria). The greatest concentration of this microscopic life is in the dark murky depths of our oxygen-deprived bowels.
Prof Rob Knight, from University of California San Diego, told the BBC: "You're more microbe than you are human."
Originally it was thought our cells were outnumbered 10 to one.
"That's been refined much closer to one-to-one, so the current estimate is you're about 43% human if you're counting up all the cells," he says.
But genetically we're even more outgunned.
The human genome - the full set of genetic instructions for a human being - is made up of 20,000 instructions called genes.
But add all the genes in our microbiome together and the figure comes out between two and 20 million microbial genes.
Prof Sarkis Mazmanian, a microbiologist from Caltech, argues: "We don't have just one genome, the genes of our microbiome present essentially a second genome which augment the activity of our own.
"What makes us human is, in my opinion, the combination of our own DNA, plus the DNA of our gut microbes."
It would be naive to think we carry around so much microbial material without it interacting or having any effect on our bodies at all.
Science is rapidly uncovering the role the microbiome plays in digestion, regulating the immune system, protecting against disease and manufacturing vital vitamins.
Prof Knight said: "We're finding ways that these tiny creatures totally transform our health in ways we never imagined until recently."
It is a new way of thinking about the microbial world. To date, our relationship with microbes has largely been one of warfare.

So I came across these I just want ur input in them cos to me it like she being totally ignored while michael is talking to cate blancette like her face looked like she pissed and annoyed here like she looked on the red carpet and this was backstage
Hi there! I've had a few people send me these pictures (and also Asks about other Michael/AL pictures, which I will answer separately). Let me put up the full size versions of these first so that we can discuss:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously we are missing some context for this or why Michael is talking to Cate Blanchett, but what immediately came to mind was that Cate was in season 2 of Staged:
Tumblr media
...And so this seems like it would've been a nice reunion between the two of them, and a chance for Michael to talk to a professional and fellow actor with whom he has actual things in common.
Like you said, this is happening backstage, so clearly Michael had some opportunity to go there at a certain point, and the feeling I get from the pictures is one of Anna tagging along. It's strange, too, because she was obviously also in Staged, but it appears that AL and Cate had nothing to talk about, and that she is not a part of this conversation (especially given that Michael seems to be unconsciously blocking her with his body, thereby physically cutting her off from engaging with Cate).
The other component of this is what you mentioned about her expression, which is similar to how bored AL appeared on the red carpet. Here, though, there also seems to be an added layer of annoyance, as if Anna is irritated that Michael is not paying attention to her, which is augmented by the fact that she is specifically staring daggers at him, rather than Cate. So I get the feeling that Michael either said or did something AL disliked, or he didn't say anything at all--didn't introduce her to another famous actor--and that is what she disliked.
Whatever the case may be, I can't imagine it must've been too comfortable for Cate to have Anna sitting behind Michael staring like that the entire time. It comes across as rude and disrespectful, as if Michael's only purpose is to help convince everyone that she belongs there...but when he talks to someone like Cate in front of her, it becomes painfully obvious that is not the case.
Those are my observations, for whatever they may be worth. I'd be glad to hear from my followers as well, whether you agree or disagree. Thanks for writing in! x

Have I already sent you an ask about Sevika having a vibrate setting/function in her mech arm?
...
On the chance I haven't, here's an ask requesting your thoughts about Sevika having a vibrate setting/function in her mech arm lol.
Merry Crimmus!!!
No ma'am, I don't believe you have. So thank you for double checking as I have thoughts. 😈
Tumblr media
My filthy thoughts below the cut... (NSFW, MDNI) Not sure I need to say this, but this is F!Reader
OFC her augmented arm has a friggin vibration function! What kind of sex goddess would she be without it?! (I mean, honestly, even if she didn't have one, she'd still be the BEST at leaving your mind blown, your thighs soaked and your mouth foaming.)
You think her strap game is brag worthy? Well, the shit she can do with that scary ass arm of hers will leave you fucked stupid for DAYS. No need to thank her either. Your dripping cunt and face of pure euphoria is thanks enough.
"C'mere, Sugar," Sevika calls to you, curling one of her dangerously sharp metal fingers in a come hither motion.
Obediently, you make your way to the booth Sevika currently occupies. Her booth. The same one she sits in every night off while she smokes, drinks and gambles the night away. She's just finished her last game of the night and is starting to count her earnings, of which you note are considerably higher than usual.
"Sit on Daddy's lap." She pats one of those deliciously thick thighs of hers while her lips curl into a smirk around her cigarillo. "Keep me warm while I count my winnings."
Smiling sweetly down at her, you set the drink you'd just fetched for her on the table beside her empty glass before taking a seat on her left thigh. Her prosthetic arm wraps around your waist, pulling you closer to her warm, solid body before resting her hand on top of your thigh. You recline back against her, the side of your head nestled in the space between her metal shoulder and her neck. Through her cloak, you can hear the muffled soft whirring of the fan housed near her shoulder. It's such a familiar sound, one you could only associate with her, and it's almost... soothing.
Removing her cigarillo, Sevika whispers a sweet, "Thanks for the drink," before pressing a kiss to your temple. Cigarillo held between her fingers, she takes a sip of her drink before taking a slow drag.
Watching the tendrils of smoke curl into the air, you sigh contentedly then turn your attention to Sevika counting the silver and gold coins piled on the table. You can't help but wonder what she spends all that coin on.
As if hearing your thoughts, Sevika brings her mouth closer to your ear to whisper, "Bought a nice upgrade for the arm a few days ago."
Assuming it's another weapon related feature, you reply with feigned interest, "Oh yeah? What is it?"
"Been itching to try it out," she replies, not really answering your question.
"Why haven't you yet?" You ask, knowing she's fishing for attention. Wants you to show how fascinated you are with her mech arm, or her in general really. Your eyes roam The Last Drop, searching for something to entertain yourself with while Sevika brags about whatever the hell she added. Unfortunately the bar is nearing closing time, and only a few patrons remain, mostly more of Silco's goons. Even the music is boring. Something soft, slow and quiet. Meant to drive the stragglers away.
"Waiting for the right opportunity," she replies, and it doesn't go unnoticed how her metal hand slips beneath the hem of your mini skirt to rest on the inside of your thigh. Not that those teasing touches are anything out of the ordinary from her, but you welcome that distraction right now.
Your mind starts to drift to... dirty thoughts as you just barely listen to her prattle on.
"Now seems like a good time," she husks, but the words don't fully register and you simply offer her a hum in response. "Think you can be quiet for Daddy?" She asks, and you feel her sleek metal fingers travel higher up your skirt until they rest against your clothed heat.
Fully tuning her out now, you're too busy watching those thick, callused fingers of hers move coins into neat stacks, imagining them buried deep inside your-
"Fuck!" You gasp, body lurching upright when you feel unexpected vibrations between your legs.
"You said you'd be quiet," Sevika hisses in your ear, her mech arm tightening around your waist and pulling you back against her.
"Sevika!" You whine softly. Her metal hand is currently pressed fully against your cunt and... and fucking vibrating! You squirm in her tight hold, trying desperately to get away before you start making inappropriate sounds, but she's not letting you go anywhere. Wide eyed, you frantically search the room to make sure nobody is watching the two of you. Even though it seems your little outburst has gone unnoticed, you still feel a rise in panic as those delightful vibrations threaten to break any control you have over your own damn mouth.
"Seems that was a good investment," she teases.
"S-Sevika," you stammer, "Not here!"
Sevika chuckles, sinfully low and cocky. "Nobody can see anything, Sugar. Now why don't you just lie still like a good girl and let's see how many times I can get you to cum while I finish up, hmm?"
"Y-Yes Daddy," you whimper.
Turns out she equipped her arm with numerous vibration settings. With each orgasm she draws from your trembling body, she finds a new setting that allows her to make that next one come quicker, harder. By the time she's finished counting her earnings, not only have you lost count of your own earnings, you're left so fucked out she has to carry your ass all the way back to her place.
But she doesn't stop at the vibrator function. This woman has a whole collection of attachments for her arm.
She'll use each one to play you like an instrument, have you hitting all the high notes (and even the low).
Making your way to Sevika's bed, you notice a large wooden box sitting on the nightstand. Having never noticed it during any of your previous stays, you peer down at it in curiosity. Running your fingers across the hinged lid, you realize something has been etched into the soft wood.
Pleasure Chest
Pleasure Chest?
"Sevika, what the hell is this?" You ask as you eye her suspiciously from over your shoulder.
She comes to stand beside you, lips curled into a smirk. "Can't you read, Sugar?"
"I can... but what the hell is 'Pleasure Chest' supposed to mean?"
When she simply arches a brow, it becomes apparent that you're just going to have to determine that yourself. One hand on either side of the lid, you slowly flip it open.
Oh for fucks sake.
"Seriously?" You ask as your eyes roam over a series of what are obviously attachments for her augmented arm. And not just any type of attachment. Nothing functional like blades. Nope. They are all designed for pleasure. Your pleasure, if the unmistakable cock shape is anything to go by. Hence that awful label she carved into the lid. And as if that wasn't absurd enough, she went so far as to have the case within velvet-lined and shadow-boxed to fit each unique piece.
Noticing a handle in the center, you lift it to reveal even more attachments in the bottom of the box. Setting the top tier back in place, you turn to Sevika, barely able to contain your laughter. "Is this what you've been spending all your gambling money on?"
"Go ahead and laugh, Sugar. Get it out of your system now, because tonight we're going to test each and every one of these, and you're going to thank Daddy for such a generous gift." She watches your expression closely, a wicked grin painting her face when your smile falters.
With a precise twist, push and pull off her metal hand, she disconnects it from what would be considered her wrist. A shimmer tube and several colored wires dangle between the sections, which she deftly disconnects before setting her metal hand on the nightstand. "Now be a good girl for Daddy. Strip and get your ass on that bed."
Your gaze flits from what is now a socket where her hand once was, to the attachment she's pulling from the chest. It's considerably more... soft and stretchy looking than some of the others. Like it's wrapped in loose skin. Realizing it has mating connectors for both the wire and the tube, your eyes blow wide.
Oh shit.
What the hell could she possibly need those for?
Your eyes shoot to her smug face, silently pleading for an explanation. When she doesn't supply one, simply just raises an expectant brow, you realize you haven't obeyed her orders.
"S-Sorry Daddy," you stammer quietly and immediately crawl onto the bed to start undressing, your eyes looking anywhere but at her while you hear her connect that... device to her arm.
Completely nude, you lie on your back, shifting and rubbing your thighs tightly together. You don't know if you should be terrified or excited for what she has in store. In all honesty, you're experiencing quite a bit of both when you feel the bed shift beneath you as she slowly crawls over you.
Her face hovers over yours for a moment. She just grins maliciously at your nervous expression, clearly enjoying watching you squirm with anticipation. And that's just as nerve-wracking as the possibilities running through your mind.
"Spread your legs," she demands, and you can feel her probing the apex of your thighs with the bulbous head of the attachment. You do, but almost immediately try to close them again when she suddenly, and unexpectedly, activates the shimmer in her arm. That was definitely not one of the possibilities you'd considered.
"Sevika," you cry out, startled and terrified at the prospect of her being hopped up on shimmer for any part of this. Her purple orbs glint with sadistic mirth as she forces your legs open with her thighs. Her human hand snatches both your wrists and pins them above your head, leaving you helpless beneath her.
And then, as that initial surge of fluid and electricity dies down, you hear what sounds like... a piston... or something pumping? Your eyes, still blown wide with surprise, slowly drop to the source of the sound. Between your legs is her augmented arm, glowing and pulsing with the power of shimmer. And that fucking attachment of hers is... thrusting.
"Now let's see if we can beat our previous record. How many times did you cum for me in the bar? 5? 6? Oh that's right, you don't remember, do you, Sugar? Fucked you too stupid, didn't I?" She sneers.
Judging by how many devices she has in that box- at least a dozen more- records were certainly going to be broken tonight. Right along with your vocal cords and your ability to walk for the next week. Not that you're complaining.
AN: I blame @master-sass-blast for giving me the Daddy kink. I didn't know I needed to call Sevika Daddy until I read her latest Sevika fic. (Go check it out if you haven't already. It's delicious!) Hope you're proud of yourself, Sass! 😆

YALL. THE BROTHERHOOD SHAME-PRIESTS OR WHAT EVER THE FUCK? OMG. THEY INVENTED A FUCKED UP LITTLE LANGUAGE TO CHANT IN. ITS SO FUNNY AND SCARY.
"high clergy of the commonwealth" is juust plausible-yet-esoteric enough to flood me with wonder for years to come.
that lore seems to come out of nowhere unless you recall that Arthur ordered the eradication of Maxson cults on the west coast. a stark, uncontextualized FO4 line which always seemed to allude to massive unknown developments. and the stuff with maxson being augmented is also very mysterious and open to incident
it seems extremely reasonable to intuit that these "Maxson cults," as he called them, would move to supplant his power after this. we can presume they succeeded and formed a theocratic government system built the infrastructure of arthur's occupation of boston
i love love LOOVE how theyre like two distinct castes... the scribes (general clerics? unclear) are a small group of wizard larpers who stay inside and develop military rituals and get real weird
the knights and paladins and shit roll around in the yard & beat the fuck out of each other like maniacs & throw bricks at basketball hoops for enrichment
i thought power armor looked goofy in the previews but that ended up being the point. they are big scary clowns who fuck up constantly. its good
on the curve of brotherhood content that exists i think the show kicks ass
