You literally inspired me to start paying attention to New Labour. And I'm just out of curiosity wondering what touched you the most about them? You know, like a quote, concept, or something else.
multiple reasons, i think, friend— i’ll try and explain them here as much as i’m able
-> part of it was trying to work out the historical facts and impact of events that happened immediately before i was born, and how they’ve influenced the context in which i now live— on a uk-centric, social level (the repeal of section 28, the death of diana, the dawn of the millennium) and on a geopolitical scale (9/11, the ‘special relationship’, the iraq war). it’s not just so i get the nicher jokes on old episodes of mock the week, but it’s partly that
-> another part of it was just an interest in what it was like to live under a labour government. i was alive during blair’s second term, his third election win and brown’s tenure, but i was between the ages of zero and seven, so i don’t necessarily remember it— all i’ve really known has been the coalition + the subsequent decade of tory destruction and decay. the 1997 landslide fascinates me because political change like that in my lifetime feels a little alien
-> i am, of course, fascinated by spin. new labour brought with it media management on a scale that people hadn’t seen before— everything from tearing down the red flag for the red rose in the late 1980s to establishing the control-freakery of the grid, the line, the haranguing of journalists when they were actually in government. and how, in the end, the obsession mutated from ‘creating the truth’ to ‘sexing it up’
-> i am, in the words of ollie reeder, obsessed with how things play in the media. reading between the lines of an effective piece of pr is as fun to a nerd like me as poring over one that is clearly a shambles. and i’m also fascinated by situations in which a spin doctor can’t spin so easily, e.g. an inquiry
-> the way in which it was mutually symptomatic of its time also intrigues me. the pop-cultural landscape of late 1990s / early 00s britain was so influenced by positive + negative comment on new labour, and new labour was influenced by pop culture in return. ‘cool britannia’ was lame, but it says something that the government was so compelled by those on the stage. i’m also interested in how it existed in the dawn of the information age, and how it responded to the thing that would eventually make that era of ‘spin’ impossible— the internet
-> i do, on a literal level, think that the relationships between the four men at the heart of new labour are fascinating. i don’t know if another political party in this country has had a comparably volatile and odd and passionate cocktail of personalities at its heart. the interpersonal drama of betrayal and succession compels me as much as anything else. it’s all a tale as old as time. no wonder so many songs got written
-> and the media response to said relationships is of note to me. not just the extremes, like whatever leo abse was doing, but the headlines + the image that ran in the press every day. the monikers of ‘prince of darkness’, ‘poodle’, etc, the not-quite-implications of homoeroticism, and the either snide or weird way of conducting interviews that only the british press could do. the not inconsiderable amount of time they spent trying to work out if they should hate peter mandelson. the odd relationship they had with this government so focused on presentation…. it’s great

Amaxon Thunder Earth 3
Tumblr media
The Possible identity's of Amaxon Thunder from Young Justice #8 2019 as far as I can see are Diana Prince, Cassie Sandsmart, Donna Troy or Mary Marvel.
Diana Prince may seem an unlikely candidate, but you must remember two things. At this time Lois Lane was Super Woman and we have see Diana as a young subordinate before. In the 2010 film Justice League Crisis On Two Earths we see the Olympian working for Power Ring, who in external media was confirmed that this was the Diana Prince of this world. It could also explain the similarities between her outfit and the prime universe Wonder Woman outfit. In regards to her being a teen it can be explained by the permanent youth given to Femiscuera residence or an example of the many time traveling team ups she had with her own younger self in the Silver Age.
Cassie Sandsmart must be mentioned because in the fight Amaxon Thunder says "Therapeutic power of basically punching your own worst smug self in the face". This implies they look the same on the other hand it can just as easily be taken that they just look similar, but besides the comment they share very little in common. Artifact are how the Cassie original gained any power and most of Wonder Woman outfit has been blessed by different gods, so what if the similar outfit to Wonder Woman is because it is made up of the same artifacts. They would of course be stolen. Alternatively later in Cassie's continuity she was given a relationship with Zeus as a source to her powers. The only evidence that point to this is the Thunder found in her name. The different hair colour can be explained away with dye and a want to be like her idle.
Donna Troy main claim the hair colour, in regards to origins are already multiple choices and include plenty of opportunitys for her to go rogue. She could be "saved" and trained on this world's Femiscuera, raised by Vengeful Titans or all builders or weapon against the world. An argument can be made that her outfit could be similar to her original outfit.
Mary Marvel is in the in the running at all do to the Thunder in the name, the lightning that surrounds her and her role as Super Women in 2010 film Justice League Crisis On Two Earths. She may have even changed her name and loyalties to keep herself safe after Alexander Luther took the Mazahs role from Will Batson. If truth this would be an very interesting way to pay homage to the film.
As a final not the colour scheme of her outfit may be a reference to the Amerikan flag found in Trinity Of Sin #4 2013, the colours of which were predominantly red and black.

Literally hard to finish: The World God Only Knows
There are some shows that are hard to finish for various reasons - you don't like where the plot is going, you don't like a twist, or the character arcs, or even the characters themselves; for some reason quality dropped, etc. But some shows are literally hard to finish - because you have to chase their content across multiple media to do so. Astoundingly, this is not always easier in the age of the internet!
This review will contain spoilers. The show aired ten years ago, but is still popular enough to be retained and recommended on Crunchyroll. (Or to have animated GIFs here on tumblr.)
The basic premise of the first two seasons is as following: There's a hell that keeps particularly bad souls in check. "Some" escaped. Keima is a guy who played a lot of dating sims, he's an over-the-top obsessed gamer known as "god of conquest" on the internet. One day a "demon" called Elshie "tricks" him into signing a contract that requires him to capture loose souls or lose his head.
Tumblr media
Over the course of the first two seasons Keima then "conquers" girls through his knowledge of dating sims - basically figuring out the central problem for each that "caused an emptiness in her heart" to appear to allow the "loose soul" in, and then finding a way to fill that heart with a romantic moment that helps them over that emptiness and drive the soul out for capture.
This sounds like the setup of a harem show, but the first two seasons avoid this through a tiny twist - once conquered, the girls don't remember the key part and that they fell in love with Keima Katsuragi in the first place. So each girl gets to stand on her own and gets her own story without there being a pre-determined "number one." Episodes don't match up with girls, instead each story unfolds at its own length and pace which works quite nicely. Side plots fill us in on the true extent of Katsuragi's gaming obsession, how New Hell works, and so on.
It's an enjoyable, light show, damn funny, good characters, and with a whiff of romance.
And then...
Let's Do The Time Warp Again
If you're very confused starting with season 3 you're not the only one. We finish season 2 with Keima having "conquered" 9 girls and us seeing a preview of five more characters to appear. At the beginning of season 3 we are informed that it's 14 now, and characters appear we haven't seen yet while the plot begins to focus on them. Also, you get flashbacks of conquests that haven't happened on-screen - what is going on?
The production of anime series in general used to be focused on promoting well-selling manga. Especially in light romance and similar genres you would usually get one season and that's it. This is gradually changing. But "The World God Only Knows" is an odd case. They basically skipped their original plans for season 3. So you'll only get to know what became of one of the girls "previewed" at the end of season 2.
Tumblr media
To make this even more confusing, the story unfolding in season 3 had already started with two OVA (direct-to-video) episodes not included on Crunchyroll. So you're starting in the middle of things, having to pierce things together. They simple cut an entire season's worth of content and the beginning.
And this creates even more problems. But we'll see that after we look at season 3.
Where We Go Off The Rails
So, let's review what this series was for 2 seasons: A light, episodic show where each installment can largely stand by itself and actions in one part have few consequences in others.
Season 3 throws this over board entirely. Childhood friend Tenri is host to a goddess named Diana, and Keima has to find 5 of her sisters among his previous conquests to protect them from a scheme by an evil organization trying to bring back Old Hell, appropriately and cringeworthily called "Vintage."
And girls that host goddesses remember the previous conquest, blowing the original setup out of the water. The start is Kanon, the idol girl, who publicly declares her love for Keima for all the school to know, acting as the inciting incident that allows the protagonist to spot the goddess hosts, as they're all kinda mad at him for neglecting them and getting confessed to by another, VERY popular girl.
Tumblr media
Quite frankly, this shows an ugly side of the protagonist. Yes, he tries to save everyone. But he comes across as even more calculating and manipulative across this season as he tries to balance finding and "conquering" four more girls among the possible candidates.
To further complicate things, two of them are friends, Ayumi and Chihiro. Really close. Like "I'm willing to stand aside for you and support you." Keima goes really far with Chihiro only to realize in the last moment that she doesn't remember the conquest. She is not a host! She just fell in love with him, a teenage crush.
This is a defining moment and a moral dilemma. What will Keima do? He doesn't take advantage of Chihiro's feelings, but he hurts her horribly to get her out of the way. He comes across as cruel and cold at this point, a culmination of the whole trying to act detached and just conquering girls for their own good.
At this point we can't see inside Keima. Even his thoughts are tightly guarded. What's even worse, in order to save the goddess inside Ayumi he has to enlist Chihiro's help. And she helps, but she also retaliates against Keima. But she stops short of making his job impossible. That establishes her character very effectively. She's hurting, but she's not consumed by jealousy or her hurt.
The whole season concludes by the goddesses stopping Vintage's plan for hell on earth. Chihiro actually notices the goddess wings that Keima's "love" brought out in her friends as she plays a concert with them on the school festival stage. She cries over her hurtful youth romance.
Tumblr media
And we see Keima crying over regretting what he did to Chihiro, the only girl he ever truly feels sorry for.
And then it all ends.
The fuck what??
Chasing The Wild Goose
The makers of the anime royally screwed up. They skipped an actual season 3 to make the season they probably thought had more potential. But. When they ended that, they were stuck with a series that hadn't finished yet. They never made another season. Though admittedly the manga itself finished half a year later, so maybe that's not the reason.
But if you know only the anime you have missed out on not only the content that season 3 points at, you also don't know how it ends. What's with Chihiro, dammit? That's all I wanted to know.
Tumblr media
This is where you have to turn to the manga. And there you have another problem. No electronic version. Yes, somehow this manga only sold as paperback. Can't find it on ebook sites.
Good luck scouring the used book market for old volumes. It's unclear why no ebook marketing took place, why they can't be had anywhere. But what's clear is that at this point you can't even get money to the author as used sales only shuffle money around between people that already bought the book and people who can't buy the book any other way. Isn't capitalism great?
Anyway.
How It Ends (Eventually)
Now, the goddess arc was... debatable. It infuses action elements and an ongoing plot and recontextualizes previous parts of the story in order to create a new story. Or you could say: It recycles the characters of one kind of story for a different story.
While that new story is okay, it's real redeeming quality for me is the potential "Chihiro ending" that's written on the wall during anime season 3. But before we can get to that, we have to wade through the content of a potential season 4 that never materialized, the final arc.
Tumblr media
What do you do if you beat the big bad? You reveal the bigger bad behind the lesser bad. And behind Vintage is Satyr. What unfolds next is a story that almost entirely leaves the world the series built before behind as Keima travels ten years to the past.
The main character of the final arc is the mind of 17 year old Keima in his own 7 year old body. Conveniently for the drama the goddesses didn't tell him why he was sent back. So he time-loops through some really unnecessary stuff so that we can learn why.
I think the final arc isn't that great. After all, it leaves the premise almost entirely behind, but it gives us peeks at some of our heroines at age 7 (Ayumi and Chihiro, of course), it also introduces some new characters. What unfolds, basically, is that Keima has to set up its own timeline in the past. So 17 year old Keima is, in a sense, his own grandfather. (No, he isn't. LOL.) Actually he's the instigator of events that lead to all the goddesses being in girls at his school that he will link up with in the future.
I still was a bit glad when it was over. I mean, after revealing that Elsie, the hapless demon, was secretly the personification of the Ultimate Weapon... Lord...
But we do get a decent enough happy end. Keima confesses to Chihiro who blows him off. But they end up together as she actually is in love with him - the only girl to fall for him before he even started his machinations.
There's also a sad note. All the goddess hosts retain their feelings and have to come to terms with them. This is hard on Tenri who not only loved him for ten years straight, but who hosts a goddess that's also crushing on Keima. So there's a bit of heartbreak. But somehow it all feels right.
Tumblr media
While the foreshadowing of the ending only truly started in season 3, the romance between Keima and Chihiro doesn't seem random. It doesn't feel like a last minute twist. It already started to feel a bit like this might happen during Chihiro's conquest in season 2. While Keima tried being her Cyrano to get the other boy, she just so naturally fell into the flow of talking to him instead. She felt like the only girl who doesn't entirely depend on a big, dramatic setup to just chat. Even more convincing, she does what some teenage girls do, though likely at a much younger age than 17. She teases her crush. Right from the start. Calls him dweeb and such.
So, looking back at the series, they have a satisfying dynamic. Unlike some series I know... As I said before, a romantic story needs to clue us in on who has feelings and chemistry with whom. Even if they don't end up together because of problems along the way. But romance is about the feelings you have and show but maybe not act on. It's not about surprise twist endings and off-screen character development. And on this count "The World God Only Knows" qualifies as a decent love story. We see our main couple clash and quarrel, but we can believe the ending.
Now, whether if the two final arcs were really good... They were decent. They lost most of the innocent charm and goodwill for the MC built in the first two seasons. They did build a grander story and expanded the setting, but arguably so late in the series (technically a season 4 and 5) that it wouldn't be surprising if part of the audience simply opted out. But they're done well and I enjoyed reading it enough to stick it through. Though admittedly, skipping to the very last chapter would have done, too.
Finality
There's one benefit to the time travel arc, though.
Tumblr media
Elsie/Elsea/Elshie gets to pick her own ending. The demon orphan that not only adores her "Nii-sama" older brother but also her adoptive mom reinvents herself in the time stream as the younger child of Keima's mom and dad, undoing the separation she caused between the parents to fit in as the illegitimate child. (Played for laughs, but oh boy...) As befitting a time travel story she's always been there and spent not only all her life at her brother's side, she will always remain his sister Eri and have a loving family. That must have been her one true desire, given that she became human for it. I mean, she spent 300 years in hell on cleaning duty before. (Immortality is not really that sweet deal for some.)
We also learn that their duo was the only hunter team to successfully employ love as means to fill gaps in hearts. And without relapses. So maybe our ditzy demon had the best intuition of them all as she made Keima her buddy in saving the world from loose souls.
Give this story a chance, it's among the better long manga. It overstays it's welcome a bit but it does end at a good point. It doesn't reset progress like "My Dress-Up Darling", or, worse, "Rent-A-Girlfriend". It changes what story it is but I don't think it stalled us unduly.
Be prepared to chase it around for the complete picture.

Is there a gang problem in your area? The city of Rochester has a horrendous gang problem. I live in the suburbs so I'm pretty ignorant to it but I know enough.
Do you make your Starbucks order more complicated if it isn’t busy? My orders are never that complicated to begin with.
Do you consider airports to be emotional places? Lord, yes! The Heathrow airport montage from Love Actually comes to mind. Cue "God Only Knows"...
Where do you need to be? I think right here where I am is fine.
Would you date an already attached person? Been there, failed at that. I've had many unsuccessful relationships with men who were already attached to other women, or just attached to certain behaviors or lifestyles that couldn't accommodate me.
When you marry, will you wear white? Ahem, it was IVORY. Thankyouverymuch,
What vaccine that you’ve received hurt the most? None that I recall.
Do you ever feel like you’re being watched? Yeah, I'm sure it's just paranoia though.
What will it take to make or break this day for you? I'm indifferent.
Would you give up a dream for someone you loved? I don't believe you should have to.
Could you date someone who’s only been your friend for a long time? What?
Do you prefer to date various people or do you pretty much fall into monogamous relationships quickly? Well I'm married now but prior to that I wasn't much of a "dater."
Are you afraid to ask people out on dates? Yeah, I don't initiate.
Do you think it’s better to look for love or let it find you? There's no hard and fast rule about it. As much as I'd like to say you should just let love come to you, you gotta put in SOME effort (i.e: put yourself out there, keep an open mind etc.)
Have you ever found yourself worrying about commitment? Certainly in previous relationships.
Would you get involved with someone if they had a child already? Well, that's not something I have to worry about now so it's a moot point.
Have you ever learned an important lesson as a result of a break up? God, yeah. That's what they're good for.
Have you ever gotten back in touch with an old flame after a time of more than three months of no communication? Yeah.
Do you or would you ever wear fake eyelashes? Only on rare occasions but oddly enough, tomorrow is one such occasion. I'm attending a wedding and I want that extra sparkle!
Do you think that smaller breeds of dogs are cuter than big ones? I don't care for dogs in general.
When was the last time you slept in a tent? It's been ages. And I really have no desire to do it again.
What brand of make-up do you prefer to use? I'm not super brand loyal. I like a little of this and a little of that. But I have a lot of faves from Clinique, that's a trusty standby, and Covergirl and Revlon are my drugstore go-tos.
Do you have any siblings and if so, what’re they like? I have two sisters and the three of us couldn't be more different. But our distinct personalities mitigated a lot of sibling rivalry. We all kind of existed in our own spheres. Growing up, my older sister was a rocker girl and rebel, I was the creative bookworm, and my younger sister was the athlete. Of course, our identities have evolved past those simple stereotypes but that's the gist.
What was the last television show that you sat and watched multiple episodes of? The Midnight Club, which I'm watching as we speak.
Is there anything significant happening this month? My cousin's getting married tomorrow and my friend is having a baby any day now (possibly also tomorrow)!
When was the last time you plucked your eyebrows? Never.
Do you have any chronic pain? I do not.
When was the last time you had a Poptart? I haven't even thought about one in forever. But now I got a craving!!
Do you like hot chocolate? No. I've never understood the appeal! (Chocolate milk, however, is a different story).
Who is your best guy friend? Sean
What’s your favorite Michael Jackson song? Dirty Diana
Where did you buy your favorite pair of jeans from? They're Good American brand and I bought them from a thrifting site.
When was the last time you got your hair done professionally? A little less than a month ago.
Do you like TGI Fridays? I wouldn't sit down for a meal at the actual restaurant. But you bet your ass I enjoy the mozz sticks, potato skins, jalapeno poppers you can buy in the freezer section at the grocery store.
Have you ever gotten your legs waxed? No. My hair is too fine and fair for that to even be an issue.
Have you ever read anything by Edgar Allen Poe? Yeah. I should read more though.
When was the last time it rained where you live? A few hours ago.
Do you like horses? I'm no horse girl by any means but they're cool animals.
What is your opinion on air pollution? It's bad?
What are your grandfathers’ names? Jack and Joseph
Have you ever seen a snake in real life? Mhm
Do you know anyone that has been held hostage before? What the...?

Visitor (Final Rose x Bleach)
“Hello, fellow humans!”
Masaki’s lips twitched. “I see you’ve decided to drop by.”
Diana smiled. “Well, of course. Dropping by for dinner is something that regular humans do all the time.”
This time, Masaki couldn’t stop herself from chuckling. “Yes, of course. We’re all humans here.”
Behind her, Isshin laughed and waved. “Hello, fellow human.”
“Come in,” Masaki said. “Dinner is just about ready.”
“Do you need any help in the kitchen?” Diana asked.
“No. It should be fine. Isshin, why don’t you keep Diana company for a bit?”
“Sure.”
In the years since they’d first met, Diana had continued to drop by. Funnily enough, Masaki would always get a text message beforehand, and the idea of Diana using a phone never failed to make her smile. Of course, Diana had demonstrated that she not only knew how to use a phone but was also more well versed in how human technology worked than anyone Masaki knew. How Diana had acquired that knowledge, Masaki had no idea, but Diana had happily used that knowledge multiple times to help out around the house.
“Nasty business with Rukia,” Diana drawled.
Isshin nodded. He wasn’t even going to question how Diana knew about the whole affair. He’d just accepted that she had her ways. She’d even used those ways to give Ichigo a bit of extra information, for which Isshin was very grateful. He’d been tempted to ask Diana to go and help his son rescue Rukia, but the image of Soul Society in flames while Diana devoured everything in her path had stayed his hand.
She might very well accept, and he still had friends there that he would prefer that Diana avoided. Frankly, he wasn’t sure if there was anyone outside of the Captain Commander who could face her, and who knew how much stronger she’d gotten? She was just so adept at hiding her true nature and power.
“I’m glad that things worked out,” Isshin said quietly. “Except for Aizen and his followers.” The ending to the whole affair had left a sour taste in Ichigo’s mouth, and Isshin couldn’t blame him. Aizen was out there, plotting and scheming. Who knew what he might do next?
“Ah. About that.” Diana smiled impishly. “Do I have your solemn word that what I’m about to tell you will not be shared with anyone except your wife and your son until I say otherwise?”
Isshin’s brows furrowed. “Hmm... very well. I give you my word.” If she had new information...
“You don’t have to worry about Aizen. I ate him.”
“...” Isshin blinked. “What?”
“I ate Aizen. He tasted pretty nice too.”
“Are you serious?”
“Yep.” Diana nodded. “He showed up in Hueco Mundo and tried to throw his weight around. He might have succeeded too if I wasn’t there. That zanpakuto of his had a very nasty power. But I was there, and he underestimated me. That was all it took.”
Isshin swallowed thickly. He and Masaki had discussed Diana many times over the years. He had a rough idea of what she was capable of. “Then... his powers?”
“They’re in better hands now,” Diana said. “Now, this all needs to be hush hush. I have projects going on that require Soul Society to continue to believe that Aizen is a threat. However, your family has a very personal stake in this matter. I’m sure you’ve been worried that Aizen and his followers might launch an attack on you here in the Human World, right?”
Isshin nodded slowly. That had been one of his worst fears. As he was now, he had no way of protecting his family from Aizen. Ichigo, for all that he’d become incredibly strong with remarkable speed, stood no chance against Aizen either. And his two daughters had only just been introduced to the true nature of the world after Ichigo had acquired his powers. They were learning quickly, but they lacked Ichigo’s raw power and had essentially none of his experience. A surgical strike from Aizen, hitting with enough speed and precision to avoid Soul Society’s forces... such a strike could easily end with his entire family dead or captured.
“Yes. That possibility had occurred to me.”
“Exactly. I just wanted to let you know that you don’t have to worry about.” Diana shrugged. “Plus, I do enjoy a home cooked human meal now and then. I don’t really need to eat human food, but it still tastes nice.”
Isshin took a deep breath and then bowed his head. “Thank you... for dealing with Aizen and for letting me know. How... how long must I keep this a secret?”
“No more than a month or two. That should be enough for my purposes. And relax. I know you still have buddies in Soul Society. Unless they come after me and mine, they’ve got nothing to worry about.”
“Ah. Thank you.”
Diana grinned. “You’re welcome.”
“Yo.”
Ichigo climbed up onto the roof and sat down next to Diana. “Dad told me what you did. Thanks.”
Diana patted him on the head. “Don’t mention it, kiddo. You did really well saving Rukia. You should be proud. But you don’t have to do everything yourself. Let us grownups pitch in every now and then.”
Ichigo grinned. “All the training paid off.” He scowled. “But you couldn’t have told us that Yoruichi could turn into a cat?”
“Heh. I was wondering when she’d let you guys know. Nah. I thought it would be funny. Did she ambush you while you were taking a bath or something?” Ichigo’s expression said it all. “So... you and the gang all okay?”
“Nothing that a bit of rest won’t fix,” Ichigo said. “But Aizen... he was strong. Way stronger than I expected. Way stronger than anyone expected.” He took a deep breath. “I want to be that strong. Seeing him do all that stuff and not being able to stop him...”
“It’s not a good feeling, is it?” Diana murmured. “Feeling helpless.”
“It sucks.”
“There’s more trouble brewing,” Diana said. “Quincy trouble.”
“Shit. Do my parents know?” Ichigo’s fists clenched. “I know mom can’t use her Quincy powers anymore, but...”
“They already know. Unfortunately, there’s still a lot that I don’t know, but I’ll have more eyes in Soul Society soon that might help. In any case, I just thought I’d let you know. You need to learn how to use your Quincy powers - and, yes, you do have some - as well as hone your skills. Right now, you’re like a sledgehammer, but that won’t work against someone who has the power to match you and the skill and experience to back it up.”
“Yeah.” Ichigo nodded firmly. “I’ll see what I can do. Can you help out with that?”
“Hmm...” Diana pursed her lips. “I’m going to be very busy, but I have a few subordinates who could help you.” She saw the look on his face and laughed. “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure they know that they’re not supposed to kill you or anything.”
“Yeah. I’d appreciate that.” Ichigo headed back into the house. “Rukia will be dropping by soon. Are you going to stick around, or...?”
“Nah. It’s probably better if I get going.”
Author’s Notes
Diana continues to plot and scheme. Gin’s really going to have to earn his pay cheque, but he might just stumble across the whole Quincy thing in time to warn Diana about it. And you can bet that if Soul Society gets attacked, Gin will be calling for backup. He’s confident, but he’s not stupid, and he’s not going to take any risks when it comes to Rangiku’s safety.
Ywach vs Yamamoto will be interesting this time around since Yamamoto has both his arms. Plus, you just know that Diana and some of her elites will show up to steal stuff, kill people, raid research facilities, and all that jazz. Plus, there are so many wonderful people to eat too.

The Sussexes ‘didn’t even ask for photos’ with the Queen during their two visits
June 08, 2022
By Kaiser
As we discussed, soon after the photos of Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor came out on Monday, the Sun was already stridently claiming that Prince Harry and Meghan were “banned” from taking photos of their kids and the Queen. As in, a source claimed out of nowhere that Harry and Meghan barged into Windsor Castle with a photographer and demanded to pose their children with the frail queen, and some brave, incandescent Men in Grey screamed “not on my watch!” Yeah, none of that sounded plausible. What does sound plausible is that Meghan and Harry prioritized visiting the Queen privately and her aides have no idea what happened during those visits, so they’re just making sh-t up as always. Of course, that hasn’t stopped the royal rota demons from screeching about the Sussexes’ audacity. Angela Levin had her panties in a bunch about it, but when doesn’t she? Interestingly enough, the NY Post has some new information about Private Lilibet/Lilibet Photos-gate.
Depending on whom you ask, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were either cruelly rejected by royal aides when they asked Queen Elizabeth II to pose for photos with their daughter Lilibet Diana last week — or they were just too polite to bother her royal grandmum majesty.
Contradicting claims over an alleged picture request have gone viral since the California-based couple introduced baby Lilibet, 1, to the queen for the first time last Wednesday, after jetting to the UK to partake in Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Reports from multiple other outlets claim Harry, 37, and Markle, 40, wanted their personal photographer to take happy snaps of the queen and Lilibet — but were shut down. According to one anonymous source, they were told: “No chance. It was a private family event,” the Sun originally reported. That leaker also claimed the queen’s minders were worried that Harry and Markle would leak the photos to US television networks.
However, a source with knowledge of the situation told The Post that claim is bunk.
“They just enjoyed a private and intimate visit with the queen,” the source said, adding that Harry and Markle didn’t even bother with asking for photos as the 96-year-old monarch wasn’t feeling well. Elizabeth’s Communications Secretary declined The Post’s request for comment about the conflicting reports.
The source told The Post that Harry and Markle also took Lilibet to meet Elizabeth for a second time on Friday.
[From The New York Post]
This reminds me a lot of the post-visit reporting from April, when Harry and Meghan shocked everyone by turning up in Windsor for a day and having tea with the Queen. The Queen’s aides fumbled and didn’t know what to confirm or deny, and Clarence House ramped up their briefings about what happened during Charles’s brief time with the Sussexes. There are briefing wars on top of briefing wars and everyone in every royal court has their own agenda. They are treating Harry, Meghan and the children as pawns to feed their own narratives. The thing is, all Harry has to do is call up Gayle King or Omid Scobie and say “this is what actually happened.” And then all of these same people will lose their minds because Harry SPOKE to a media outlet, GASP! And then the outrage over “photos with the Queen” will smoothly transition to outrage over Harry denying their bullsh-t stories.

a big aspect of the Chrestomaci series is adults failing to protect (and even actively endangering) children
this isn't weird. it's a big part of children's adventure as a whole. if the main characters were properly looked after all the time, we wouldn't have a story. I am a big proponent of terrible things happening to children in children's fiction, and Diana Wynne Jones did a very good job of conveying how frustrating and frightening it is to be a child without any real agency. I thoroughly enjoy her writing and she's a big inspiration for me.
but I do feel that at times, in Charmed Life and Christopher Chant especially, it sorta feels like narrative is actively placing blame on the children?
Cat Chant essentially gets adopted without his consent and brought to a household he doesn't know, in a place he doesn't know, by people he doesn't know, all while his sister continues to use and manipulate him. he's even physically punished for not stopping his sister when like. she could have killed him. technically she already had. more than once.
Nobody is honest with Cat until the last quarter of the story, and yet I felt the ending chapter just sort of said "silly boy! none of this would have happened if you'd just put your faith in these strangers!"
I didn't feel like there was any acknowledgment that maybe Chrestomaci could have tried harder to connect with him, which becomes particularly jarring now that I'm reading Charmed Life.
Christopher, objectively, does bad things and treats other people terribly, and he deserves to face consequences for it. but he's also a child who's been ripped away from his happy life on the whims of adults who do not know him, multiple times, and at no point so much as acknowledge that he's suffering. of course he's a massive asshole!
I felt similarly about some of Witch Week. most of the characters in that book are horrible people. most of them are also abused, frightened children. yet there's a scene where Chrestomaci essentially tells the pov character "you've been bad. do better" and I'm like bruh he witnessed a woman being hunted for sport when he was eight. the world he grew up in actively makes people worse like c'mon
maybe it's just because our understanding of parenting and childhood and psychology has changed since these books were written. maybe it's just because I'm misinterpreting the texts. but either way, I'm finding these stories frustrating at times in a way I'm not sure I'm supposed to.
I'm in the last quarter of Christopher Chant so I'll see how I feel at the end.
EDIT: ok i think Christopher Chant handled it much better! I'm not a massive fan of how everything wrapped up in the end, I feel like several significant issues were sorta waved away... but I'm also not the intended audience by any means. if I was a kid maybe i wouldn't have noticed ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
in any case i really enjoyed this book!

My Style Influence’s
A prominent part of today’s style community is taking inspiration from multiple decades and using different elements to pull today’s style together. These era’s include 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and especially; the 90’s and 2000’s. With the pandemic causing mass hysteria of what the future would look like, many reverted back to fashion influences from their youth (Kate Moss, Princess Diana, Brittney Spears, basically anyone on MTV and more). This caused a revival in aesthetics and styles such as Y2K, grunge, punk and many more. This brought back the love of low waisted jeans, mesh tops and concert t-shirts.
While the Y2K aesthetic seem to make a more popular and stronger comeback, my style influencers come from the grungier side. With my favourite music being Nirvana, Hole, Alice in Chains, Oasis, Blur, etc. from said eras, I am naturally more influenced by that aesthetic. In this post will be outlining my style influences from tv-shows, movies, musicians etc.
Joey Potter - Dawson’s Creek 1998-2003
Even though its hard for me to get through an episode because of the irritating ass characters of Jen and Dawson, I love Joey. Especially her style. She has a simple, relaxed persona and its ‘easy on the eyes’ after listening to the selfish comments of Jen and Dawson. (I cannot stress this enough, I don’t care how hard their life has been, they are so irritating). Anyway Joey’s style reflects her personality with a relaxed silhouette.
My favourite elements of Joey’s style:
Natural, earth-toned colours
Relaxed straight/mom fitting jeans
Baby tees
Flannels
Sweaters
Thrift/second-hand vibe
Alex Nunez - Degrassi: The Next Generation 2001-2015
While I think Alex is one of the most underrated character’s on the show, my favourite styles from her was when she first came onto the show and the rest of her high school time. I didn’t connect to her style later on in the college era of her generation. Maybe because it was around the late 2000’s which was not my favourite time when I look back on the aesthetics. Alex and her friends were the stereotypical ‘bad’ guys. They all had street style influences with dark and simple colours, baggy clothes and classic 2000’s sunglasses.
My favourite elements of Alex’s style:
Big pant, small top look
Simple dark colours
Cargo, denim, carpenter baggy pants
Black and white small tanks
Sneakers
Kat Stratford - 10 things I hate about you 1999
Kat is well-known, well-loved among teenage girls and influences today’s teen-girl’s style, personality and hobbies. I, of course am one of those girls. I love Kat Stratford, not only with fashion but on every side, she influenced my interest in feminist literature, and her philosophy of ‘not doing something just because someone else wants you too’. I also have similar music taste and I also love Heath Ledger.
My favourite elements of Kat’s style:
Thrifted inspired clothes
Tom-Boy but also feminine silhouette
Long skirts
Cargo pants
Her iconic leather coats
Rock/Indie style
Hippie elements - her necklaces and the way she styles her hair
The coven - The Craft 1996
I love The craft, being born in October I feel a connection to witchery. While I don’t really practice or know much about it, I love this movie. It’s once of the coolest 90’s movies, and as I mentioned in the introduction of my love for grunge and the mid-90’s. When I say the coven I mean the main four, Nancy, Sarah, Rochelle and Bonnie. These four girls are so fucking cool I don’t understand how this movie isn’t dominating modern teenage girl iconic movie lists. I know its popular but everyone should love this movie, its so perfect and the slay to end all slays.
My favourite elements of the coven’s styles:
Grunge/punk rock inspiration
Cross jewellery
Layers of silver jewellery
Hippie elements - especially Rochelle and Sarah
Leather trench coats
Lots of eyeliner and lipstick
Lots of accessories
I have a bit of a mixed interest in style with mentions of grunge, hippie/bohemian, street and simple styles. But that’s the way lots of  individual styles work. I hope this was interesting to read and/or take inspiration from!
Honourable mentions
Kurt Cobain
Stevie Nicks
The Mid-90’s movie
Fiona Apple
Miley Cyrus

First, I'd like to state that I work for certain people in aristocratic circles. This story begins all the way back in 2014, when Prince Harry was seriously considering marriage to one Miss Cressida Bonas. The truth is, they agreed to get engaged in late 2015 and marry in 2016, but this never happened, as we all are painfully aware. The media reports stated that Cressida didn't want to be royalty, but in truth, they were offered this deal: to be working royals and do less than a 120 engagements a year and retire early, once William's children are old enough to take the bulk of the work. Cressida was actually fine with this, she intended to model herself after Mrs Wessex, to be pretty low-key, have two children close in age and live a cozy life. Rumour has it that Harry was asking his grandmother for a ring from a certain royal collection.
Now, this fell through. Why? Not because Cressida didn't want to be a royal, she certainly didn't mind living in a palace and getting access to the box of chocolates that Her Majesty owns, but she could not. stand. her husband. comparing her. to her. sister-in-law.
It is known in these circles that Harry has a sick tendency to one-up his brother. Everything needs to be better than William's, he wanted the 1A apartment or Diana's old apartments but was denied, he wanted separate sec. from William's, he wanted a Dukedom in 2011, he wanted more. When William married in 2011 and he saw the wave of praise and popularity, he wanted just the same. Hw wanted a wife that could measure up to Mrs Cambridge in looks, popularity and appeal. Whatever Cressida did, he compared her to Mrs Cambridge. Mrs Cambridge told him this several times as she has a soft spot for him, but it felt on dead ears. Mrs Cambridge advised Miss Bonas to think about the engagement and Miss Bonas, bearing on ill will to Mrs Cambridge, thought of the former Mrs Wales and decided to dip.
Cue in years of chasing after her which failed miserably. His previous long term lady didn't want to marry, period, but this one seemed good. So he went on a search and encountered the future Mrs Sussex. She was very much a yes-woman. Everything went, at first, the parties, the drinks, the hunting. Except Mrs Sussex had a different reaction to being compared to Mrs Cambridge. Instead of calling him out and leaving, she took it as a, in her head, little competition.
Mrs Sussex was willing to join the game of attempting to harm and one up Mr and Mrs Cambridge. Cue in the curiously wrong colour of dress for a certain royal event, I think it was something where the theme was cream and blue and she wore something dark green/olive green. Mrs Sussex has a particular disdain for Mrs Cambridge and Mrs Tindall, except that Mrs Tindall told her off pretty quickly and never spoke to her because of an argument around a wedding date. Mrs Cambridge and Mrs Tindall would both either been post partum or expecting at the time so they both asked for the wedding date to be pushed after a certain date, but Mrs Sussex was having none of it. No one knows why.
How does poor Miss Bonas tie into this? Mr Sussex got cold feet. Multiple times before the wedding. He attempter to compensate by getting a certain colour of carpet and something out of granny's box of chocolates for the Mrs. but it just wasn't it. Miss Bonas even visited Mr Sussex days before the wedding and stayed a long time there. No one knows a thing about the conversation, but we can guess.
The rumour mill has it that Mrs Sussex might attempt to pull something the late Mrs Wales did with the former Mrs Parker-Bowles once they split which will be sooner than we expect and her victim of choice might be Miss Bonas. Of course, Miss Bonas isn't Miss Bonas anymore, she is Mrs Wentworth-Stanley now. See, two last names now, pieces are falling into place for Mrs Sussex.
Except... Mrs Sussex has a big enemy. He is actually big, quite a tall lad, with a very difficult job position waiting for him, like CEO and owner of the company at the same time. Mr and Mrs Sussex are petrified of him because they know if he releases the kraken, Mrs Sussex will be done. And she will take Mr Sussex with her. Mrs Sussex intends to do a series of interviews in this year, pretending each is the last and only. Except this time, she is very aware that her enemy is looming over her.
Tea Alert.

Rebuilding Family
Summary: Y/N and Spencer were college sweethearts at Cal-Tech but once Spencer got accepted to the FBI Academy, he ended things deciding it was not fair to make Y/N wait for him. When they meet again years later, he discovers something unexpected.
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem! Reader
A/N: i may have a little surprise for you guys tomorrow... (not related to this fic)
Masterlist
Chapter 15
“Jo! Please bring your suitcase downstairs so Daddy can load it into the car,” you called up the stairs.
“How high does the plane go up in the air? Who is the pilot? How fast does it go?” Jo asked as she walked down the stairs.
Jo had been asking a lot of questions about planes recently since you told her that you all were taking a little trip. You were going to Las Vegas so Diana could meet Jo.
Spencer was ecstatic about it so you tried to hide your growing anxiety to not kill his mood. You had already met Diana multiple times when you would accompany Spencer on road trips home on long weekends in college and she seemed to love you. But that was before you had her granddaughter and didn’t tell her or her son for six years. Not to mention the fact that you and Spencer were now dating again and living together.
“Those are questions for Daddy on the ride to the airport,” you ushered her out the front door, locking it.
Jo repeated her questions again once in the car.
“The plane will fly at about 5.9 to 7.2 miles up in the air. I don’t know who the pilot is but we can ask. Commercial planes fly at about 547 to 575 miles per hour which is about 14 times faster than the speed we are driving right now,” Spencer informed her.
“Woah,” Jo exclaimed, “I’ve never been on a plane before.”
“Yes you have, Baby J. You were just too young to remember it. You and Mommy flew from California to here,” you said.
Once you made it through check-in and security, you were waiting in the terminal for your flight to start boarding. Spencer came back with coffee and breakfast sandwiches for you both and a chocolate milk and donut munchkins for Jo.
“Thanks, Spence,” you gave him a quick kiss before unwrapping your sandwich.
“Jo, look!” Spencer pointed to a woman in a uniform, “I think that’s our pilot. Do you want to go say hi?”
Jo nodded shyly. She seemed to be a little starstruck.
“Come here, Princess,” Spencer lifted her up and walked over to the lady.
You watched from afar as the woman nodded her head to Spencer’s first question so she must be the pilot. She seemed very enthusiastic to answer any and all of Jo’s questions. She knelt down to her bag and gave something to Jo, waving goodbye.
“Mommy! I got wings!” Jo held up a little wing pin.
“Oh my gosh, sweetie! That is so cool!” you smiled, pinning it to her sweater.
“Do you want to be a pilot when you grow up, Jo?” Spencer asked.
“Yes,” she beamed.
“You can be whatever you want, Josephine,” you smiled, kissing her cheek.
-
It was the middle of the night. You couldn’t possibly sleep, knowing you were going to have to face Diana in the morning. You were expecting the cold shoulder from her at the very least.
You were sitting on the cool hotel bathroom floor, silently crying with your knees pulled up to your chest and your head tucked in between.
“Sweetheart, what’s wrong?” Spencer quickly rushed over to you, sitting down beside you.
Either your crying was louder than anticipated or he just woke up to use the bathroom because you forgot to lock the door.
“Your mom hates me and I know how much her approval means to you,” you sniffled, not looking up.
“Baby, can you look at me please?” he whispered.
You hesitantly looked up to meet Spencer’s sympathetic gaze. He used the bottom of his t-shirt to wipe the tears from your face, pulling you in for a hug.
“She doesn’t hate you, I promise. She is overjoyed to meet her granddaughter,” he assured you.
“What if she’s just not telling you, Spence? She is seeing Jo for the first time at the age of 6, I honestly wouldn’t blame her for being pissed,” you were crying again.
Spencer pulled back and cupped your face, wiping away the fresh tears with his thumbs.
“I’m really sorry, I got so excited I forgot to consider how you’re feeling. I can take Jo alone tomorrow if you don’t want to go,” he said.
“No, I want to go,” you replied with no hesitation.
Spencer smiled softly, “If you feel uncomfortable at any point, we will leave but I swear she is not harboring any animosity towards you.”
“Does she know we are living together and dating again?” you asked softly.
“Yes, she does. Let me tell you she was not happy when I broke up with you the first time so I can assure you she approves of us getting back together,” he chuckled.
He elicited a quiet giggle from you.
“Would you like to go back to bed?” he asked softly.
You nodded and Spencer helped you up off the floor and back to bed. Spencer wrapped his arms around you and you snuggled into his chest, finally getting some rest.
-
“Dr. Reid! Diana has not stopped talking about this visit all week! She is having a wonderful day!” the nurse at the front desk chirped.
“Thank you. Is she in her room?” he asked.
“Yes, you know the way!” she said, gesturing down the hall.
You and Spencer stopped right outside her door, halting Jo’s movement as well because she was in between you both, holding each of your hands.
Spencer knelt down to her level, “Do you remember who we are meeting?”
“Your Mommy,” Jo said.
“So that makes her your Grandma,” Spencer smiled.
“I already have a Grandma,” Jo said, confused.
“You have two Grandmas now, Baby J,” you explained.
Jo still seemed a little confused and made a grabby motion for you to pick her up.
Spencer knocked on the door and opened it a crack.
“Mom?” Spencer said.
“Oh, Spencer!” you heard the familiar voice excitedly shout from inside.
You entered the room with Jo nuzzled into your neck. Jo tended to get very shy around new people and liked to cling to you or Spencer until she warmed up.
Once Diana finished hugging Spencer, she turned to you and Jo.
“Hi, Y/N! Good to see you! Let me see my beautiful granddaughter,” she chirped.
“Good to see you too,” you smiled, “Jo, can you say hi?”
Jo nuzzled further into your neck.
“How about if you sit in Daddy’s lap?” you whispered in her ear.
She nodded and you handed her over to Spencer, taking the seat next to him on the couch.
“Oh, look at her precious little face. She looks just like Spencer did at that age. Hello, Josephine,” Diana smiled.
“Jo, how about you tell Grandma what we did yesterday,” you prompted her.
“We went on a plane and I got this,” Jo pointed to the wings that she was still wearing today.
“Oh my, the pilot must have thought you were a very important little girl then,” Diana nodded.
Jo beamed as you reached over to your bag.
“Um we brought some of Jo’s toys if you want to play with her,” you asked Diana.
“Of course! I would love nothing more!”
-
“I have to pee,” Jo tugged at Spencer’s sleeve.
“Okay, let’s go,” Spencer lifted her up.
Shit. As much as Spencer assured you that his mom didn’t hold a grudge, you were scared of the ‘girl talk’ that would ensue when he left the room. You couldn’t really offer to take Jo because you didn’t know where the bathrooms were.
Once the door to the room clicked shut, you felt Diana’s eyes on you.
“So long time, no see,” she said.
“Yeah,” you chuckled nervously.
“Now I’m Spencer’s mom and I’m supposed to see him as perfect but one of the biggest mistakes he ever made was leaving you and I made sure I let him know that. And I didn’t even know you were pregnant at the time. You both just had this special bond that was so clear to anyone who was within twenty feet of you. I am so grateful that you gave him the opportunity to come back into you and your daughter’s life,” Diana spoke.
You were tearing up at how nice she was being. She didn’t blame you for any of it.
“Can I hug you?” you asked with watery eyes.
“Of course, my dear,” she opened her arms, “I am so lucky to call you family.”
Spencer returned to see two of the most important people in his life hugging and the third was in his arms.

ACTUALLY I FORGOT speaking of jieun why do people need to make other girls enemies of the mc 😭😭😭 i don’t understand??? why they blame jennette for the things happening when she was being used by someone else and she’s a 14 year old who was being isolated and just wanted to have a family that loved her. i get that shes naive and selfish!!! but athy was also selfish both of them!!! and that’ ok? people can be selfish. they’re human. and it’s ok to be selfish sometimes (at least imho, you’re allowed to) 🥺 why do ppl ignore jennette thinking of athanasia constantly and wishing to see her again etc. even jumping in the water to catch her umbrella? buying presents for one another?? bc jennette wanted to be close to her sister????? (also don’t ever put blame on jennette for claude losing his memory 😭 this is all aeternitas PLEASE) i get that shes frustrating sometimes. but being surrounded by adults (including athy) and just people who are more mature than her like ijekiel of course she would look naive? roger obvs didn’t raise her like he did his own son. and athy in the first timeline made mistakes like those by being too kind and dumb (sorry) and she ended up dead. now she’s trying to survive which means sometimes you have to be selfish. idk if i phrased that well but you get what i mean 🏃🏃🏃
Second female leads give readers flight or fight response because they are usually white lotuses or villainesses. This hatred is born out of experience.
Huh, Jennette being selfish? I’m surprised to hear this from a Jenne stan. If anything she is the exact opposite. Sis literally jumped into the lake and almost drowned trying to get Athy’s parasol (?) back. I don't get why people call Jennette selfish. She wants to be reunited with her family, she wants love. This is a basic need in humans. Contrary to Athy she does not try to monopolize Claude's attention. Instead she wants all three of them to be happy. Regarding LP! Jennette...we have not enough information about her. And the information we have has to be taken with a grain of salt as The Lovely Princess has been multiple times proven to be an untrustworthy source.
Let’s say, wmmap and lp Jennette are roughly the same person. If wmmap Jennette who saw Claude clearly favouring Athy, didn’t view Athy as a rival then why should lp Jennette who was the one being favoured feel threatened by her unloved sister’s presence? I’m assuming that lp Jennette had the same dream of them becoming a picture perfect family. My theory is that Jennette did try to improve the relationship between Athy and Claude, but it backfired. Claude resisted vehemently and opposed against the very idea of another daughter. There is a panel which comes to my mind which suggests this idea that Jennette might have tried to mediate between them.
This one:
Tumblr media
The panel gives me the impression that Claude passed by his daughters, as always ignoring Athy, who looks as if she were wavering to say something to him, and he only turns around when Jennette tugs at his sleeve to stop him. I wonder what she was about to tell him?
Those are mere speculations. Jennette’s attempts to reconcile Claude with Athy might have caused him to hate her even more (I’ve heard the theory that the memory spell acted up and caused headaches whenever he saw lp Athy who looked like Diana). And Jennette who saw Claude get mad at Athy, eventually stopped attempting to repair their relationship as she feared Claude would potentially start to hate her too if she were to force him to spend time with a thing he hated.

Where do you see him in five years (both professionally and in his personal life?)
What do you find the most impressive about him?
Last thing he texted you?
If he asked you out on a date, what would you say?
For Ethan (MC is not there)
Where do you see him in five years (both professionally and in his personal life?)
What specifically do you find attractive about her?
Last thing she texted you?
If she asked you out on a date, how would you respond?
Alright, post Book 1 but pre-Ethan fleeing to South America Ethan x Naomi coming right up! I feel like that time would have maximum tension because they’re trying to find their footing again after fucking the souls out of each other’s bodies and sending them into orbit, and lowkey falling in love sleeping together, while maintaining professionalism.
~v~
For Both:
When I first saw them, I thought__________
Naomi: I thought “thank God someone else is here!” I was in over my head with that patient, and I didn’t even notice that The Ethan Ramsey was the one assisting me until much later.
Ethan: I thought she had guts. You don’t see too many first day interns that are ready to jump into the fray like she did.
What is your coworker's most used swear word?
Naomi: He says Christ and any iteration of the word damn. Dammit, goddamn, goddammit, you get the gist.
Ethan: She says fuck.
Naomi: You’ve never heard me say that.
Ethan: She says fuck a lot, especially when she’s...*Ethan trails off and catches himself before he finishes that sentence. It’s a moot point all the same because now all he can think about is the young intern in front of him, hands pulling his hair, nails raking down his back, moaning the obscenity into his ear, into his pillows. He awkwardly clears his throat* Just trust me, I’ve heard her say it. Multiple times.
*and now he’s mad at himself*
Quick: What color are their eyes?
Naomi: Blue. They’re kinda hard to miss.
Ethan: Her eyes are brown.
Three people at work your coworker hates?
Naomi: He hates everyone, except for me and Naveen.
Ethan: Except for you? You think pretty highly of yourself, Rookie.
Naomi: Am I wrong? *Ethan doesn’t deny it, instead staying silent and Naomi smirks* Exactly
Ethan: I don’t think she dislikes anyone. I’ve never met a person like her, she makes friends with everyone.
What is your coworker’s strangest or most endearing quirk?
Naomi: He fiddles with his glasses a lot.
Ethan: She’s constantly biting her lip, especially when she’s really focused.
*she’s actually surprised that he picked up on that* Naomi: You notice that?
Ethan: I notice everything...about everything. It’s the nature of the job.
If they had a crush on anyone at work, who would that be?
*they both share an awkward glance before looking away and declining to answer*
Never Have I Ever...
Come into work hungover
Ethan: When I was younger, yes. But now that I’m older, I know my limits.
Naomi: No, because I don’t get hangovers due to my magical hangover cure.
Ethan: That god-awful drink is...surprisingly effective.
*the interviewer asks Ethan to elaborate on the time Naomi gave him whatever her hangover cure is, and he adamantly refuses*
Had a fistfight
Naomi: Yes, but in my defense I was drunk.
Ethan: *snorts* How is that a defense?
Naomi: I’m the daughter of an attorney, I usually try to resolve my issues with my words. But drunk Naomi is a little feistier.
Ethan: You mean you have a level of feistiness that I’ve yet to see?
Naomi: Oh yeah. Anyway, I was in college, I was drunk at a bar, someone spilled a drink on me, and it escalated. I think I broke her nose.
Ethan: An arrest record wasn’t on your file when we hired you.
Naomi: Like I said, I’m the daughter of an attorney, and the granddaughter of a DC judge. That has its perks.
Ethan: Yes, I’ve gotten into a fist fight before. I punched Nash in the face. And before that, i fought my old med school roommate.
Naomi: Ooh, what did he do?
Ethan: That’s not a story I’d ever divulge while sober.
Been kicked out of a bar
Naomi: Yes. Circle back to the previous question.
Ethan: No, because I’m an adult.
Gotten a tattoo
Ethan: Absolutely not
Naomi: I have a tattoo of the Cancer symbol on my left hip. It’s my zodiac sign.
*this stuns Ethan into silence because he’s seen her naked on more than one occasion and been...very well acquainted with the body parts below her waist, and for the life of him cannot remember a tattoo*
Broken someone’s heart
Naomi: No. At least, I don’t think so. I’ve had my heart broken, if that counts.
Ethan: Same as Naomi. I don’t think I have.
*they make a pointed effort to not make eye contact with each other, and Naomi bites down on her lip, letting the silence hang in the air. The alternative would be informing Ethan that he has indeed broken someone’s heart, and that just won’t do.*
Been in love
Naomi: I don’t know. Maybe? I thought I was in love with my med school boyfriend, but now that time has passed, I know that wasn’t love. At least, not the good kind. And there was a near miss after him, but nothing came out of it. The emotions were a lot stronger the second time around though, and i think it’s the closest I’ve come to it this far. I’m a hopeless romantic, so I hope I find it someday.
Ethan: No. Call me a cynic, but I just don’t see love as something that’s feasible and attainable. Putting that much trust and dependency in another person is not realistic.
For Naomi (Ethan is not there)
Where do you see him in five years (both professionally and in his personal life?)
Naomi: I don’t know what’s left for a man like Ethan Ramsey. He’s already done so much in the field of medicine, unless he reinvents the entire wheel and turns it upside down, which I can see him doing. I can see him writing more, publishing more research, and of course winning more awards. If he wasn’t so anti-administration, he could be running this place. Or maybe he’ll start his own non-profit.
Naomi: As far as his personal life, I don’t know. You heard loud and clear that he doesn’t really believe in love. I hope one day he changes his mind or finds a companion, because underneath his extremely prickly exterior, he’s one of the best men I know and he has a heart of gold. He deserves the chance to let someone take care of it for him.
What do you find the most impressive about him?
Naomi: From afar, Ethan seems very larger than life, but I think the most impressive thing about him is his dedication to not just medicine, but his patients. I’ve never seen him not go above and beyond for someone he was treating.
Last thing he texted you?
Naomi: “Please consult Diana in HR regarding your official diagnostic team fellowship application. I know this year has been unorthodox to say the least, but there are still some steps that must be taken before the start of your second year. Thank you.”
Naomi: I’ve never received a text message that long.
If he asked you out on a date, what would you say?
*her cheeks heat up furiously and she pulls her bottom between her teeth before answering, her eyes bright and watery*
Naomi: Am I a total glutton for pain for saying I’d jump at the chance?
For Ethan (Naomi is not there)
Where do you see her in five years (both professionally and in her personal life?)
Ethan: Dr. Valentine has so much potential and she’s going to be one of the greats. She’s going to be running the diagnostics team if she chooses to stay at Edenbrook, and I can’t see Naveen not trying to keep her here. She’s going to win awards, have awards named after her, publish research, lead trials, whatever. I hate to sound banal and cliche, but the sky really is the limit for her. I chose her for a reason, and I plan her helping her reach all of that potential.
Ethan: As for her personal life, I don’t know. Hopefully she finds someone that’s good enough for her.
What specifically do you find attractive about her?
Ethan: A-attractive? *the word comes out in a squeak, but he coughs to cover it up* Why on earth would you assume that I’m attracted to her?
*he goes on a ridiculously long tangent about how inappropriate it is to be attracted to your coworkers, especially your subordinates, and how he would never jeopardize Naomi’s career on something as trivial as attraction, and anyone with an ounce of common sense can tell that he doth protest too much*
Ethan: But if I absolutely had to pick something besides her good looks, it’d be her spirit. She’s warm and empathetic and optimistic, and I’ve never seen someone care as much as she does.
Last thing she texted you?
Ethan: “👍” I sent her a message about her upcoming fellowship and she sent back a thumbs up. Just that. I was a little annoyed.
If she asked you out on a date, how would you respond?
Ethan: As um...flattering as that might be, I would say no. I am an attending, she’s an intern, my soon to be fellow. That is crossing too many ethical lines, lines I refuse to breach.
Ethan: And I would say no because Naomi is...just a good person. And maybe I’m being biased, but I don’t know if anyone will ever be truly worthy of her. But I can say without a shadow of a doubt that she deserves so much better than me or what I could give her.

The Ultimatum
AN: OK, so I haven’t decided yet so I’ma ask your guys’ opinion. Would You want Diana as a mother figure or as a sister? Tell me what you want cause I’m fine with both. Also, my wifi’s being a little bitch.
Ukr - Father
Jeju - Mother
Italics - they’re speaking in Kryptonese.
Note: Kara’s 16 here, Y/N is 5, and Kal is 2. Also the Kryptonian clothes I was referencing to was taken from here.

Chapter 2
Masterlist
Kara gasped as she jolted upwards into a sitting position, her heart drumming in her chest, breath labored. She was once again startled by all the sound baring down onto her, and as if that wasn’t hard enough, she could suddenly see through the walls.
When she got her senses back she then took in the room she was in, noticing that she was lying on a bed that smelled faintly like one of the flowers Kori gave her when she last visited Krypton. The next thing she noticed was that there was a man sitting opposite her in the corner of the room.
The man was wearing a suit that somewhat reminded Kara of the clothes they wore on Krypton, albeit less colorful and lacked character. He had dark brunette hair that was gelled away from his face, his face was cleanly shaven, and he had dark eyes that felt like they were piercing through her soul.
“Good, you’re awake” the man spoke, his voice deep. He stared at her, making her feel uncomfortable. But she was an El, and El’s weren’t one to back down so quickly.
“Where am I? Who are you? Where are they?” She asked frantically. When she realized she was speaking in the man’s language and could understand him, she thanked Rao her Ukr thought to initiate the learning program for her.
“Before I answer your questions I need to know who YOU are. You and those kids come out of nowhere, in a pod, those kids babbling on in a strange language none of us can understand, so it’s safe to assume you’re not from around here, are you?” He said, somehow sounding both bored and accusing in his monotonous tone.
“Where are they?” Kara asked firmly, glaring at the man. Just then the door to the room opened revealing a woman.
“Bruce leave the child alone” The woman interrupts as she enters the room. She was tall and a slim yet had a muscular physique, long silky brunette hair, so dark that it was almost black, cascaded down her shoulders, soulful brown eyes that held a gentleness to them. She wore a white button down shirt, the sleeves rolled up to her forearms, black pants and black heels.
“Should I be concerned that every security measure I’ve had so far has been bypassed by you multiple time?” the man, Bruce, said as he glanced at the woman, lacing his fingers together as his elbows were propped up against the arms rests of the chair.
“Yes, you should look into that, it might become a problem.” the women replied with a teasing smile, her eyes filled with mirth. “I am Diana, princess of Themyscira” she said, finally introducing herself, “and he is Bruce Wayne”
Kara stood and did the traditional Kryptonian greeting for noble houses, placing her hand formed into a fist above the left side of her chest, her left hand behind her back as she bent at the waist to bow slightly, just like her Jeju had taught her. “Greetings princess Diana of Themyscira, I am Kara El, formerly Zor-El, and head of the great and noble house of El. Now if you wouldn’t mind, where are the children?” she said.
“You need not worry Kara El, they are safe with one of our friends J’onn” Diana reassured. “If you would like, I could take you to them.” She offered, Kara gladly accepted and followed her, passing by so many halls it almost felt like a maze.
They arrived in a living room. The walls were a muted shade of dark green, there was a fireplace surrounded by brown leather couches, a white rug on the floor, and pictures hung off the walls. By the couches she saw her cousin and sister, they sat on the rug with a man in his mid-40’s watching them. She immediately ran to them and engulfed both in a hug. Diana and J’onn only smiled at the sight with a scowling Bruce behind them.
“Kara I’m hungry” Y/K/N whined with a pout, Kal agreeing with her as the two of them pulled out the famous puppy dog eyes. Kara smiled fondly at them as she ruffled their hair, earning a few disgruntled yells.
“Kara who are they?” Kal asked, pointing at the, now four, people watching them, with Y/K/N peering at them curiously above Kara’s shoulder. Diana noticed this and smiled at her, giving a small wave, and receiving a shy one in reply.
“Friends… hopefully” she answered with a sigh as she glanced back at them. “Could we please get food? Kal and Y/K/N are hungry”
“Of course sweetheart, come” Diana said, Kara stood up with Kal in her arms as Y/K/N clung onto her hand. She placed her arm around Kara’s shoulders when she got close enough, which startled the girl, though she found that she didn’t mind and leaned into the comforting touch of the woman as they were lead into the kitchen with Albert and J’onn trailing behind them, Bruce leaving to go to his secret lair.
There they sat on one of the stools by the counter as they waited on Albert, who insisted on doing it, to make them a little snack. The silence was filled with the two children babbling together in Kryptonese.
“If don’t mind me asking, where did you come from?” J’onn asked, despite already having a clue as to where.
“A planet called Krypton” she answered, confirming his suspicions.
“Why are you here now? Are you alone?” Diana asked concerned. So far all she has seen are these 3 children, unless there are more of them.
“I… Krypton is… gone… everything and everyone-” Kara looked down as she quietly answered, barely audible, with tears forming in her eyes, but the two still heard it. “It exploded”, she said in a broken whisper.
At that Diana and J’onn were stunned. That would have meant that these children would have been alone, the last of their kind. Though they were particularly more concerned about Kara, she would have to be burdened by all the loss, the only one to remember what the essence of what their home truly was, the only one that is left to carry and pass on the legacy of their people. Diana abruptly stood up and pulled the poor girl into her, trapping her in an embrace, Kara reciprocating a few seconds later.
Just then Albert sat down a plate full of pb&j sandwiches, and another filled with cut up fruits. Kal and Y/K/N eagerly devoured the food, making Kara chuckle at their enthusiasm as she took a sandwich for herself.
A few hours later, when the kids were put down for a nap, Kara was lead down to Bruce’s secret lair, or as Albert jokingly called it, The Bat Cave. Her eyes immediately landed on the pod that she quickly rushed to, though what she wasn’t expecting was to crash straight into the wall, which surprisingly created a crack and a small dent where her body was. Diana quickly rushed over to her and checked over her.
“Are you hurt?” she asked, her hands on Kara’s shoulder.
“Rao… What was that?” Kara asked shocked. “Oh Rao” she breathed out.
“It seems like you have a few tricks up your sleeve, Kara” Diana said with an airy chuckle as Kara tilted her head to one side in confusion.

Read previous interviews here
HOME TOUR
This is set, 5 years after their wedding, their daughter Tiya is about to turn 4. So they aren't exactly newlyweds.
Diana : Eeee! I am so excited for this.
Ethan : You are excited for every single interview Rookie.
Diana : But this time it's a home tour, and it has been delayed for months for our busy schedule E, of course I am excited, you should be too.
What does the outside of your home look like?
Diana : Let's take you to our backyard before we enter our home then.
Tumblr media
Ethan : We have a sitting area in our backyard where we can keep an eye on our daughter as she plays with Jenner and Nala.
Diana : And invite our friends over when the weather is favourable, it's a nice spot for spending time together with our friends.
Ethan : We are also sprucing up the garden whenever we have free time.
Diana : I am not much of a gardening expert, I can only tell when things look pretty. The roses were actually Harper's idea.
Living Room and Office
Tumblr media
Diana : As you can see, I wanted a white aesthetic for our living room. It feels more cozy.
Ethan : And the office is supposed to be for both of us, but Diana prefers the library or the sitting area in the backyard for working.
Diana : I already sit in an office for 80 hours a week. I'd much rather use the other areas of my home for working when it's possible.
Kitchen and Dining Room.
Diana : It's mostly Ethan's kitchen as I rarely cook, I just admire my hot husband from the counter, while he cooks.
Tumblr media
Ethan : The Dining is adjacent to the kitchen.
Bedrooms?
Tumblr media
(A little girl comes running from one of the rooms.)
Diana : Bree, meet our daughter Tiya. Tiya say hi to the nice lady.
Tiya : Hi! Are you here to see our home?
Bree : Yes, will you show me your room?
(The little girl looks up at her father)
Ethan : Parrot do you want to take us to your room?
Tiya : Yes
(Tiya leads them to her room)
Tiya : This is my room.
Diana : She helped me to clean it up for you.
Bree : It's really pretty Tiya.
Tiya : Do you want to visit the story room now?
Diana : She means the library, she insisted on keeping her books there too, so it's story room to her.
Other Rooms?
Diana : Welcome to my favorite place in the entire house, the library or better known as the story room.
Tumblr media
Ethan : Diana spends most of her free time here. I have often found her nestled in the couch with a blanket and her books on her days off.
Diana : This is my safe haven, ever since I was a kid, I wanted my own library with a step ladder and now that I have fulfilled that dream, I never want to leave this place.
Ethan : I must admit, the library is a really beautiful part of our home.
Diana : You should see it when it rains, the glass windows leave such a beautiful effect here.
Do you own your dream home?
Ethan : We do.
Diana : This is the exact home I had imagined my future in when I had first dared to think of a future about us. A place which reflects both of us.
Ethan : (tangling his fingers with Di's) years ago, I had told Diana that I want to want a life where I can have a quiet life with the person I can call family.
Diana : But you said that you'll always have a certain restlessness.
Ethan : I don't think I see that restlessness in myself anymore. All thanks to my wife.
Diana : (smiles and kisses his cheek)
What is your favorite room to spend time with each other?
Diana : You mean apart from our bedroom?
Ethan : Rookie...
Diana : What? You didn't think I'll make this joke? But jokes apart, It's the swing in the porch, it's so pretty and perfect for impromptu date nights
Tumblr media
Ethan : With our busy schedules and as parents having extravagant date nights is not always possible, but that doesn't mean I'll not take my wife on dates. So most nights this has to do.
Diana : You know me Ethan, I enjoy these dates more than those "extravagant" ones, these are beautiful and peaceful, just what we need after wrangling interns at the hospital.
Ethan : (laughs) You are becoming like me.
Diana : Effect of spending too much time with you, I don't regret it though.
Ethan : (kisses her softly)

Harry’s Blaming the Wrong People for his Genetic Trauma... Chapter Two of Lady Colin Campbell’s book reveals a lot!
The more I listen to Lady Colin Campbell’s YouTube Channel, the more I realize how little I truly paid attention to what she was really saying in her most recent book. Lady C is a woman of high caliber. She understands better than anyone that HOW something is said matters MORE than WHAT is said. She knows how to get information out there in a way that prevents any lawsuit happy turkeys from getting litigious. There is more than one way to say something. Finding the way that says it all without saying it all… well that is an artform.
To be honest, I believe all the answers we really want to know are woven into that book. Here recently, especially since the video about Princess Anne and the conversation had with Harry, I have noticed little clues dropped. One could almost argue that Lady C has somewhat direct information being given to her from close sources. And it is worth noting, to date there have been zero legal actions taken by the Montecito Muppets. Because of this, I have started re-reading Meghan and Harry, The Real Story. It’s important to remember I am taking this go-round literally line-by-line. This post is specifically about chapter two in the book.
Chapter two is the chapter in which Lady Colin Campbell provides us with Harry’s and his wife’s upbringings. She draws comparisons between both spare and spouse, as well as contrasting points. When she gets to Harry’s side, the light bulb started to get juice. You see, when you consider that Lady Colin Campbell was first chosen by Diana to write the biography Andrew Morton later got tapped to pen, Lady Colin Campbell was given a unique opportunity. She was able to see who the person was behind the media image of Diana, Princess of Wales.
She could not put aside her dignity, her responsibility of the truth, to seal that deal. Andrew Morton had no qualms with twisting truths slightly to perpetuate the Diana Saga. When you factor in Lady Colin Campbell’s knowledge on the British Royal Family, especially regarding the Queen Mother, you realize that Lady C is telling us who’s really behind the Montecito Man-Child just called Harry. Which again brings me back to the light bulb moment.
This whole time, Harry and his wife have been hurling accusations at his family. Harry especially pointed blame toward his father, grandmother, and late grandfather for causing his “genetic pain” and trauma. But if we look at what Lady Colin Campbell writes in chapter two of the book, we learn the reality of life growing up for William and Harry. Lady C writes in chapter two that Diana would encourage the boys to go against the grain, even if that meant bucking the protocols and measures put in place to protect the Crown’s survival.
Lady C mentions that William and Harry both were wild children with little to no rules to follow from their mother. She writes that Diana was infamous for screaming matches, throwing matches, and the peace of the home rested solely on the status of Diana’s love life. She says Charles was approving of James Hewitt, knew of their affair, and was okay with him teaching the boys how to ride horses. Diana would rotate between James Hewitt, Hasnat Kahn, and eventually Dodi. When trouble was brewing for Diana and a lover, she brought that trouble to Charles.
Furthermore, the Queen Mother was so concerned with instilling her own influences on the future of the Crown, she was a major influence in the issues between Prince Charles and his mother, Her Majesty the Queen. Lady Colin Campbell even writes in chapter two that the Queen Mother would tell Prince Charles it isn’t his place to stand up to the mother of his children, even when she was leading her boys down a wild-child path.
History cannot ignore the facts. Lady Colin Campbell even highlights how Diana’s own grandmother was so disgusted with how Diana was behaving and undermining the monarchy, she died before Diana and she could make amends. Her grandmother was a Lady of the Bedchamber for the Queen Mother, and she died 4 years before Diana. Her own grandmother saw through her tricks, as the Queen Mother did.
Again, what’s my long, drawn out point? Well, just in the first half of chapter two… we learn that Charles is a hot mess because of the Queen Mother’s meddling and Diana was the one in control of how the boys were raised. As a matter of fact, Diana was known to tell the boys “do whatever you want as long as you don’t get caught”.
Of course, I still have the rest of chapter two to finish, but I found it especially interesting that Lady C quotes the Kensington Palace chef, Darren McGrady (1993-1997) as remembering Diana telling him frequently to keep an eye out for William. She would tell him that William would manage, but Harry was an airhead like her. The exact wording on page 47 of the book says “You take care of the heir; I’ll look after the spare” (Campbell, 2020). So what does all this mean? Why does it matter? And how is THIS a light bulb moment for me?
Well, when you consider the fact Harry and his wife repeatedly bash his own family (more so from the former lately than the latter)… and you consider the factual recollections from everyone else… you realize Harry is blaming the wrong people for his problems. He says his father and grandparents are to blame for his own pain, that his father only treated him how he was treated by his own parents. But that goes against reality and truth. Because Charles was raised differently than his siblings; mainly because of the Queen Mother favoring him. Plus, William and Harry spent far more time residing with their mother than they did their father. By the age of twelve, a child’s personality is already well-seeded and developed. Essentially, who you were around puberty is who you are now, save for the maturity gained.
What we have here is repeated historical recollections of both women, the Queen Mother and Diana, being at the source of it all. Charles failed to step in and prevent his boys from growing up wildly misbehaved because he took more advice from the Queen Mother than his own mother and father. We have Diana constantly instilling in Harry this sense of bucking tradition and being the rebellious one. Both women had a direct hand in creating who Harry is. Both women left him rather large chunks of change when they passed. Yet… neither are blamed when Harry goes on the record? You mean to tell me, the two women who essentially gave you all of your wealth… the two women who predominately raised you to a teen… had no impact on you life nor bare some of the weight of responsibility for your issues? Just your father? Hmm.
Why does Harry only blame his father and his grandparents? Why doesn’t he ever utter one word about his mother that is honest instead of some fanatical warped version of a distant memory? He instead hoists all the blame from his own mother and great-grandmother onto the Royal Family. Why does he never mention how his mother would have screaming matches with his father, throwing things, or how she had multiple heated affairs of her own? How she struggled with her own relationships and would gaslight his father? We hear him slant his father for cheating on his mother, but never a word about his mother cheating on his father, too.
My whole point is Harry is comfortable blaming the people still living who cannot respond to these accusations. He is not comfortable with the truth. Why? Well, let’s face it. A lot of the affection and love people have for Harry is transference. Most people “loved” him because they loved her. They loved Harry because she loved Harry. People felt like they were serving, honoring even, Diana’s legacy by sparing Harry a harsh glance. He’s the spare, “Diana’s second son” who’s not so bright. Hey let’s give the ol’ chap a break.
He can’t let anything get in the way of his mother’s victimhood, martyrdom, sainthood status. It tarnishes his own brand. When the world starts remembering the facts or realizing Diana wasn’t so innocent, the world stops garnering sympathy for Harry. The world isn’t as easily manipulated when they don’t feel sorry for you, remember? So, Harry’s biggest chore to date is protecting that image of the lamb taken to slaughter that he paints his mother to be. Without that, his own brand crumbles.
Sorry again for the rambling, but it’s important to truly think and consider just how vital a role both women had and still have in Harry’s life now. Two of the biggest reasons he could just leave the Royal way of life are the Queen Mother and Diana. They are also two of the biggest influences that made life as traumatic as it was. Yet, never a word mentioned about their own responsibility in Harry’s “generic pain”. Oops, meant genetic.
