Wahh, I ran over as soon as I got the notification of your reply. I've started playing zenless and I think I've been spoiled by hsr cuz I feel like there's not even polychromes 😭😭. I want Astra Yao but I'm tryna save my money for mydei. Broke life

I've been thinking more about how y/n and fei fei could meet. Maybe she's out picnicking. Randomly, she sees one of yuanie's cat pets stuck on a tree. Climbs to save like the cute princess she is and falls in the process while fei fei whips up a window and literally princess carries her. (Pun intended).

To me, if jing yuan is the lion(secretly a cat), the fei fei is the cute albino wolf. I think y/n would be a hamster. Yk, cute and a little skittish but smart at the same time with good instincts.

Au! Jing yuan's world if there were all animals : by mei!

Fei fei : white wolf, protective and loyal. She's also part borison so yeh!

Yuanie : lion, territorial and the thick manes. Maybe cat, too? 24/7 eepy. For a specific cat, it would have to be Persian cat. Cuz oh that floof is strong with this one.

Mozzarella : my not so favorite spy because fack u for causing y/n to die in her first life. He would be a bat...maybe a beaver? Bat because they're nocturnal and blend in the darkness

Uncle Jiaoqiu : Foxy little fox who's also a master chef.

Geppie : Since both his siblings are named after cat breeds, including him. He shall be a gepard cat. Ik, so creative.

Punch bag Yanqing: corgi, need I say less?

Bladie: would be the black cat trope. That's a lot of cats, yes. And fack you too bcz of his ass acting y/n got caught. He automatically fails her acting course.

And fack dhil bcuz i was this close 🤏🤏to getting hit by truck kun, isekai as y/n and strangle the shit out of him.

2. Fei fei blushes and purrs(?) When y/n touches her ears/ tails. I think this is super cute, and I know wolves don't purr, but I hope you add a scene like this. Pretty plsss 🥺🥺🙏🙏 with a cherry on top and a cat on your lap along with body pillow jing yuan?

3. Yuanie let's y/n bury her face in his floofy hair. I literally wish I was sparrow whenever I see his idle. Like THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME!!!!

4. Fei fei also starts wearing compression shirts after seeing y/n loves it so much when yuanie wears one. I would be salivating. 🫢🫢🫢

here’s something for this, I think it’s cute!!

Wolfram is so damn excited aaaaaaah SWEET BOY

For the longest time after SIEGLINDE asked you and WOLFRAM when you were going to have a baby, you didn’t know what to say.

Now, following a visit to the doctor, you finally do.

Although you can’t be perfectly sure when you conceived, the physician thinks you’re far along enough that your biggest guess is that it was when you and Wolfram made love for the first time. When Sieglinde asked, the two of you had a talk about it, deciding that you’d both be glad if it happened. So you’ve had sex a few more times since then, but… you think it was that first time that did it.

You’ve not quite known how to tell either of them the news yet. The last few days everyone, including you, has just thought you haven’t been feeling well, just tired. Even through dinner, with both of them asking how you’re doing, you don’t know exactly how to phrase it.

Then, after dinner while you work on mending some of everyone’s clothes, Wolfram comes over to set Sieglinde next to you, almost certainly at her request. She presses into you and smiles, putting her arms around your middle. “Mutti, Wolfram says I have to go to bed soon, but I’m not tired. You will tell me a story so I get sleepy, please?”

“Oh, that would make you sleepy?” you giggle as you pull her into your lap. “Of course, sweetheart. I’ll make one up just for you, let’s see…”

You think for a moment, then an idea pops into your head. “Ah, alright, well. Once upon a time, there was a young princess who lived in a forest, and her name was Sieglinde.”

Your little girl gives you a noise somewhere between a giggle and a scoff. “Is this story about us?”

“Hmm, maybe,” you tease. “It’s a good one, though, I promise. Now, Princess Sieglinde was a very smart, beautiful girl. But, she was unable to walk, so she was trapped in the forest, because there were… a lot of wolves out there among the trees who would attack other living things. And the woods were too thick… even if she could walk, it would have been a long and dangerous journey. So she stayed in her castle, away from the outside world, making inventions and reading. However, she did have one loyal companion by her side ― her loving, attentive father, Wolfram.”

From the corner of your eye, you see Wolfram straighten up in pride; the sight makes you smile. “He took good care of her, and even though they were stuck in the forest, they found some happiness day by day.”

A hand combs gingerly through her hair as she nestles in against you. “But one day… a group of travelers from another land were coming through the forest, and they stumbled upon the castle, where they were given a place to stay. Several of the travelers were inhumanly strong, so after learning that Princess Sieglinde and her father were trapped, they offered to help the two out of the woods.”

Wolfram decides to sit down on your other side, setting a candle in its holder on the table beside him. “Some of the travelers was know-it-alls.”

You snort and lean to give him a kiss. “… Yes, but Wolfram got over it.”

“Pfui! If you say so.”

“Well, I’m the one telling the story, aren’t I?” Things have to be shifted a bit, with you leaning toward him… it’s nice, though. Almost like one big cuddle. “Where was I? Ah… so, they all set out. True to their word, the travelers brought Princess Sieglinde and her father to safety on the other side of the forest. With perhaps a few scrapes here and there, they made it in one piece. Grateful to the travelers and unsure of where to go now that they’d found freedom, Princess Sieglinde and Wolfram followed the travelers back to their homeland.”

Sieglinde blinks a few times, looking as if she’s starting to get tired. “What happened after that? Surely it’s not end there?”

You nod. “You’re right, it doesn’t end there. After settling down, Wolfram fell in love with a woman.”

“(Name), right?” Sieglinde brings her legs up onto the sofa, tucking them under her. “And she married Wolfram and decided to be Princess Sieglinde’s mum?”

You can’t help a laugh from escaping as you give her a squeeze. “You haven’t heard this story before, have you? I thought I made it up just now! Haha… that’s right, though. (Name) married Wolfram and decided to be Princess Sieglinde’s mum. And one day, Princess Sieglinde asked for a little sister. So, (Name) made a wish on a star…”

Your eyes flicker up to Wolfram. Although he’s listening to the story just like Sieglinde is, his eyebrow is raised at you. “A wish on a star?”

Your next words come out in a whisper. “… And it came true.”

Almost immediately, Wolfram’s eyes widen. You can see every single thing he’s feeling reflected in them; joy, fear, relief, he doesn’t seem to know how to feel. For so much of his life he’s lived only feeling one thing or another, with things being simple, and now he’s feeling so many different things at once. When he speaks, his voice trembles like its feet are on the edge of a crumbling precipice. “It came true?”

“It did,” you smile, and you’re… almost prepared for his reaction, but not fully.

Of course, given that his reaction is to hug you tightly and whoop, “Hurra! Hurra! Hurrahurrahurrahurra―!”, it’s a bit hard to anticipate. He buries his face in your neck, laughing, suddenly elated in a way you’ve never seen him express before.

Even when he pulls his face back up, he’s beaming. Though he looks a bit embarrassed about the outburst, he comes in to kiss you, with both of his hands moving to cup your face. “This is… wonderful. So ― so you’re… schwanger?” Oh, dear, that’s so precious… he can’t bring himself to say the word in English. You think he might burst if he did. “Ah, Gott…”

“Schwanger!” Sieglinde chirps, instantly awake. “So, you approved my request! I’m going to have a little sister!! Hurraaaaaaaa!!!”

With that, she practically launches herself into your lap, pressing her head and hand against your stomach. “My little sister is in here! Can she hear me yet? I don’t care if she can’t… I want her to know she’s the best little sister in the whole big world!”

“Sieglinde…!” Wolfram’s still laughing, albeit a bit quieter. “You need to go to bed―”

She shakes her head, staring up at him with big eyes. “Vati!! You can’t expect me to sleep now!”

“You can’t argue with that,” you hum as you nestle in against him. “It’s exciting news.”

Well, at least she grins at you for being on her side. “Mutti, can I give my little sister her name? Pleaaaaase?”

“If you go to bed right now,” is the dry answer she gets, before you even have a chance to open your mouth.

Even though Sieglinde probably isn’t going to be heading to sleep anytime soon, you’re glad about the fact that you told both of them at last. Even though your baby isn’t very big yet, you still put your hand over Sieglinde’s on your stomach.

Everything is going to change. It’s going to be overwhelming. And you can only speak for yourself, but…

You feel like things are, finally, exactly where they’re supposed to be. For all of you.

the volturi daemon au

Continuing on from Vinelle’s post re: the inevitable daemon!au, here are my takes on what the Volturi’s daemons would be. This is a beast, so I’ve popped it under a cut. Citations and paintings included!

Aro: Haast’s Eagle

A very big, very extinct bird. The Haast’s eagle preyed mainly on the giant, flightless Moa (230 kg). They were driven extinct when early human settlers on New Zealand over hunted the moa, but the Māori still have legend of enormous birds known as Pouakai, Hokioi, or Hakawai that would eat people.

Aro is a conceptual, farsighted person with very lofty goals, so I think a bird would suit. He’s the HBIC of the vampire world, so a terrifying, deeply intimidating bird is my first choice.

Caius: Aurochs

Caius, the most belligerent member of the Volturi! Obviously we’re going with a predator, right?

No.

We’re sticking with something much scarier: a great big fuckoff cow.

Specifically, the aurochs - the terror of Pleistocene Europe. Not only would they happily gore just about anyone, but the bulls would also fight each other to the death. Violent, angry, aggressive, and a second away from murder at any given time. While juvenile aurochs could face predation by wolves, mature and healthy bulls were nigh on invulnerable.

Marcus: Scarlet Macaw

Like Aro, Marcus has a unique perspective on humanity that would lend itself well to having a bird daemon. I can see Marcus as a type of parrot, specifically a scarlet macaw - profoundly intelligent, very social, and adventurous. Another thing - many birds are monogamous, but scarlet macaws mate for life.

There is plenty of apocryphal evidence to suggest that parrots grieve - they scream, pluck their feathers, and generally become inconsolable.

The tragicomic potential is immense. To paraphrase @therealvinelle: “You have Aro saying "talk, birdie. C'mon. Come on, let's say "Caius stupid" together! Let's go! And the parrot just never talks back

Aro insists the parrot can talk, used to be the chattiest parrot around. No one believes him.”

Didyme: Sonoran Desert Toad

I thought about choosing a cuddly, oxytocin-inducing animal, I really did, but the lure of the sonoran desert toad proved too strong.

These toads are frequently hunted down and licked by adventurous psychonauts because their parotid glands produce 5-MeO-DMT and 5-HO-DMT (aka bufotenin), powerful psychoactive chemicals that produces a profound sense of mystical euphoria. Also super poisonous, so that’s a fun vampire adjacent thing.

What else would do for Didyme?

Athenodora: Grass Snake

A common snake in Greece that mostly wants to chill out in nice warm patches, but will kill if necessary. We know very little about Athenodora from canon, but we do know that she chooses to get blazed off Corin constantly.

Sulpicia: Domesticated pigeon

Aro famously searched high and low for a woman suitable for the position of his wife. Per Vinelle and the Muffin, I think Sulpicia is most likely loyal, kind, unambitious, pleasant, and maybe a little stupid.

Since it’s Aro’s chosen life partner, I went with a bird. She’s happy being a companion, so I went with a commonly kept bird.

Parrots are too smart for captivity and will go insane (don’t keep parrots as pets!). Geese and ducks are friendly, but there are also capable of violence. Chickens are charming and stupid, but also evil.

Domesticated pigeons (Columbia livia domestica) are thee bird companion. They’re friendly, just the right amount of stupid, and cute. They like hanging out! You can pick them up like a little hamburger!

They also mate for life.

I think it would be a very beautiful pigeon. Sulpicia is upwards of 3000 years old, so I don’t think it would make sense for her to be a modern pigeon breed, but I’m including an image of the Damascene pigeon for reference.

Jane: Bullet Ant

I thought about going with something cute and English like a badger before realising that Jane needed something more insidiously terrifying.

The inventor of the Schmidt Sting Pain Index considers the bullet ant to have the most painful sting of any animal, bar the tarantula hawk wasp. He described the sting of the bullet ant as "pure, intense, brilliant pain...like walking over flaming charcoal with a three-inch nail embedded in your heel."

The sting causes immediate, excruciating pain. The effects eventually wear off without leaving lasting (physical) damage, similar to Jane’s power.

I don’t like looking at ants so you’ll have to look an image up yourself.

Alec: Blue Ringed Octopus

Tetrodotoxin is a hell of a drug. It interferes with the transmission of signals from the nerves to the muscles. It causes loss of sensation and muscle paralysis, which is spot on for Alec. Just imagine this poor 11 year old swimming around in the Roman baths in the Volterra basement with a rubber duckie and his small, poisonous daemon.

Demetri: Polar bear

Polar bears are magnificent trackers, and one of the only animals that actively (and enthusiastically) hunt humans. There are plenty of examples of polar bears stalking their unwitting victims for weeks at a time, going so far as to learn their potential victim’s schedule. You’re a scientist on Svalbard? Better change up when you have your cigarette break.

Felix: dung beetle (specifically Onthophagus taurus)

These little dudes can pull up to 1141 times their own body weight. That’s like a 70kg person effortlessly lifting a small submarine. Also it would give him a complex and I think that’s funny.

Corin: Bohemian Waxwing

Bohemian waxwings famously love to get fucked up on fermenting berries. They’re often seen flying around erratically after overindulging. I don’t know what Corin was like in life that her vampire power is getting other vampires metaphysically polluted, but she might have been a little like the bohemian waxwing.

Chelsea: chimpanzee

Chimps have complex, intricate social lives with ever-evolving hierarchies. There is evidence of social manipulation and coercive social control in chimpanzee groups (super interesting paper linked). Chimpanzee groups will also go to war with each other, famously in the Gombe Chimpanzee War. Chelsea’s power is based on the manipulation of interpersonal attachment, so it makes sense to me that her daemon would have sophisticated social structures.

Heidi: Bolas spider

Heidi uses her powers to lure unsuspecting victims to their deaths. The bolas spider (Mastophora hutchinsoni), attracts moth males by mimicking the female moth sex pheromones. And then eats them. Pretty self-explanatory.

You’re gonna have to look this one up yourself, I hate looking at spiders.

Okay so the obvious one would be a mountain lion, that's just her whole vibe you know?

"Generally, mountain lions are calm, quiet and elusive. They are most commonly found in areas with plentiful prey and adequate cover."

I'm gesturing to this wildly because it just has Kit written all over it. Ma'am went to war where there was plenty 'prey' and then joins a cult in a pretty populated County idk gang!! It's aligning up perfectly that's all I can say.

"Solitary cats, mountain lions are highly adaptable to situations and environments."

I MEAN. Come on. Kit getting thrown into every situation and adapting accordingly and kicking entire ass need I say more?

Mountain lions are described as relentless hunters and are high endurance, all things that work with Kit. Having her Daemon being a predator makes sense with how she was raised and her life up until the current point. I imagine it would have settled when she was young considering the training her dad put her through and it would have just added another layer to her need to be strong and resilient.

(Also I think the fact this could make her Daemon bigger than Jacob's is so. GOOD. His is a wolf and the fight between them could be legendary and the added power couple energy once Kit's joined the cult. So Good.)

I think most big Wildcats could work well for Kit as they all have similar kind of behaviour but you could also go for a Wolf. Wolves are usually pack animals and are pretty social which works a little bit against Kit's whole vibe BUT other than that they are very dangerous and smart predators that take down prey just as effectively.

It might work well with her dynamic when she's in a team or her cult era, seeing as Wolves are loyal and highly defensive of their territory. They're known to take up more land than they reasonably need (AHEM. a whole County) and are very hostile to anyone outside the pack.

It could maybe speak to some inner want to belong and have a family unit considering her Father probably didn't offer much of a loving vibe. Her wolf Daemon could show some kind of yearning for the protection and stability a family provides while also being on guard and being able to rip any threat to shreds. (AND AGAIN. the power couple of her and Jacob and their Daemons both being wolves would also be amazing abdjdjdb)

Basically a continuation of my not-quite a rewrite/extra to canon of twilight where the pack isn't essentially on their own, but loved and supported by their parents and the elders of La Push. Wherein Billy has a somewhat difficult conversation with his younger sister about his nephew Colin

I want to dump all the characters in your ask box (I may do this anyway), but I’ll settle for Embry Call 👁👄👁

Oh go ahead and dump everyone lol. But, on to my best boy, Embry

Do I like them: Absolutely. I've always been most interested in the pack and their dynamics (like the rest of tumblr), but I was really drawn initially to the friendship between embry/quil/jacob, or what little of it we saw in the series

5 Good Qualities: (a lot of this is coming from those genius lists @blackpack did on little known tidbits from the books)

He's very observant, being the one to bring up to Jacob that Sam meets with the tribal council, among other things

He's quite loyal to his friends and family

and his mom- he's very aware of the gossip about her when she first moved to town, and what still lingers to some extent. I could go more into how I see their relationship, but for a good while, they were all the other had, and having to keep the secret from her really hurt

I also see him as quite smart, wanting to go to college to study history and/or folklore and is the one that fights the hardest against the pack having to drop out of school or whatever they end up doing

He's quite easygoing and doesn't seem to hold a grudge for long if at all

He puts up with Quil and Jacob and their shenanigans

3 Bad Qualities: (tbh this took a lot longer than I thought)

honestly, the fact he stayed with Sam's pack as long as he did- for as long as he and Jake have been friends I'm surprised it took him until after Bella had the baby to leave

he never tells his mom?? Who do you think would be able to noncon and wife Lumine? Since she's been traveling worlds and stuff she's probably stronger than what we give credit for, so who do you think would be a good match for her?

Oh there's a lot of good candidates and I am a Lumine Harem Enthusiast™ and honestly everyone has their own advantages.

I mean yes Lumine is powerful, but still visibly struggles at times like the golden house fight, with Baal, etc, so I think it's fair to say she has combat experience/technique skill and elemental power but still the actual physical strength of the average female of her size, so, not too strong. Unfortunately without a vision, she can't just have her power stripped from her, but most of our boys are candidates in their own way.

She visibly struggles against Baal, so it's fair to say she's no match for an actual archon like Zhongli or Venti, probably not Xiao either. In terms of physical + elemental power she's not even close to a combative threat. Those three would have the easiest time of it. Of them, the most likely to do so would definitely be Xiao, based on some of his dialogues and birthday letter and teapot lines he's pretty direct about having some form of attachment to/affection for the traveler and just based on his personality I feel like he's the most likely to snap into yan mode, so to speak.

Side note interestingly one of the things I haven't discussed much is that like, yandere is rarely the natural state of a person, it's more like an underlying tendency/a state of mind/a "side" of a person that can be triggered or snapped into, and certain individuals are more or less likely to do so. Some have to be driven to a breaking point through a lot of stress, some just a few conditions have to be met, and then for a few it's basically their default when they experience affection or attachment. So certain characters are far more likely than others to "become yandere." Xiao is absolutely high on that scale for likeliness, would be in that last category, so yeah, the most likely of those 3.

Venti would be least likely, but he could be driven to it, and Zhongli is somewhere in the middle. All of them would be able to do so with some ease, though, and Zhongli and Xiao specifically could lock her in an abode. Not to mention they don't really die as easily as a person I think? So even if she attacks they'll probably be fine. Venti also has psychological manipulation on his side, he can probably easily gaslight her into seeing her brother as an enemy if he really tries. If all else fails, sweep her up with that burst of his and knock her out.

Any human or human adjacent would have a significantly harder time since Lumine's elemental powers cannot just be taken away so easily. If anyone can find a way to do so though, that would probably be Albedo. He's also smart enough to not make his intentions too obvious, much like with his quest - he would just perform harmless experiments he claims are for this or that reason, eventually developing a way to strip her of her power. His biggest advantage is obviously intelligence. He'd always be one step ahead of her, always predict her next move, and that's just as good of an advantage as any physical or elemental one.

So while it would be more difficult if she still has her power, the thing about Kaeya and Diluc is both of them are the kind of stubborn (Diluc) and deranged (Kaeya) enough to... Just restrain her. Arms and legs bound. At all times. Can't use your powers if you can't move. Diluc can just keep trying to be kind in his own way, because he *can* be sweet and caring when he tries, and would eventually just mindbreak/Stockholm her. Kaeya on the other hand... She's a lot more likely to end up... Permanently incapacitated. Can't escape if you can't use your limbs. For those two, the hard part would be getting her - most likely grab her while she's asleep, but once they have her and get her restrained, they're set. They're both bigger stronger men and can easily beat her in terms of pure hand to hand strength. Pyro is a rather frightening element and can be used as a projectile in Diluc's case, a burn can easily incapacitate. And if she tries to escape in the rain or cross a river she can be easily frozen too, and Kaeya's one of the least afraid to seriously hurt her to begin with. Eventually she'll become conditioned, the pain she experiences every time she tries to escape will eventually outweigh her desire to be free and find her brother, eventually she'll crack and give in to despair and give up, he can break her with time.

Childe and Scara would have it a bit easier than those two, because they have more help. The Dawn Winery maids can help Diluc sure, but they can't really contain her quite like Fatui can. She can't fight off 10 of them by herself. So even when they're not nearby, they can just have people watch her. Sure she puts up a fight, but they both kinda like that. In the end even if she escapes, they can probably manage to get her back, especially with help. For one I feel like Childe is a lot more capable when in a wide open space like the outdoors chasing her would be, in comparison to a tiny enclosed space like our fight with him.

The smaller boys would have the most difficulty. Razor and Xingqiu have the advantage of pure numbers/outnumbering her. Xingqiu has guards but in the end they're just normal guys and can't do too much. Still, when their entire force is gathered, they might be able to overpower her, especially if she's not in anemo mode and can't blow them away.

Razor has a similar thing going on -- sure, they're animals, you can blow away five wolves, but fifteen? Thirty? Fourty? She'd be able to escape eventually but the problem here would be staying escaped. Boy has no limits and inhuman levels of stubbornness and will gladly chase her across the entire map. Catch Lumine reaching Inazuma thinking she's finally safe and our boy comes emerging from the water like the cryptid he is just "found you, we go home now", he fucking swam across the ocean for that Lumine coochie and he'll do it again. Unbelievable.

Razor also has an elemental advantage. Other elements like hydro + cryo combo can freeze her if you have dual yans, but his is the only element where getting one good hit in can completely shock her into unconsciousness or paralysis.

The ones who have the hardest times would be Chongyun and Kazuha. It's just themselves, really, I doubt the Crux would be too willing to help imprison a girl, especially since Kazuha isn't in a position of power over them the way Diluc, Xingqiu, Scara and Childe have power over their forces, and they're not as insanely loyal as the wolves. Chongyun is on his own by default, maybe can enlist help from Xingqiu and his forces, but it's unlikely they'll help him all the time. Both are pretty determined, but they'd have a difficult time fighting her. It's a toss up honestly, but even if they lose one battle they can find her again and eventually win. They would both likely try to catch her by surprise, take her while she's sleeping, etc. Kazuha has no qualms restraining her, Chongyun feels bad, but he'll do it if he has to.

Bennett has the pure protection of being Bennett. Like yeah you want to find your brother but is it worth making Bennett sad? No. No it is not. I'd drop my entire journey right there bc I can't bear the thought of hurting him. He doesn't even have to restrain her, could you imagine breaking his heart you monster? No. Lumine is finished.

Dainsleif could probably manage. He has tricks up his sleeve, I guarantee it. He's been around long enough there's no way he hasn't learned how to handle a being like her, probably knows of a way to strip her of power.

Tbh? Ultimately, the best choice in terms of being able to handle her is her brother. He knows her too well. He knows exactly what her strengths and weaknesses are, he probably knows exactly how to beat her. He knows her better than anyone, and it gives him an incomparable advantage, so she's pretty much done for.

So tl;dr Lumine is fucked both figuratively and literally and should just accept her fate :)

With the announcement of HBO buying the rights to one of my absolute favourite TV shows and the further announcement of it getting a reboot next year, I have decided to do a mashup post.

SO , I want to give my thoughts on Twilight Characters and their Degrassi counterparts. Please feel free to tell me if you disagree or agree or have anything to add.

Bella:

Clare Edwards. Clare is a character that is shown time and time again to be passionate about her interests (journalism and writing) and is loyal to her friends when they are in need. She also is seen by some of her friends to have a strong affect on boys (queue ‘I will never understand the affect Clare Edwards has on Men’) like How Bella shows up and miraculously all the men are attracted to her. She finds herself caught in multiple love stories where she learns to stick up for herself and must make decisions about what she truly wants.

Edward:

Craig Manning. Craig shows up and instantly has girls frothing at the mouth for him. He’s dramatic and broody and doesn’t really give up when it comes to finding what he wants. He is talented with Music similar to Edward and also like Edward will often come off as very intense when expressing his feelings towards others. He also leaves his girlfriend at the time (Manny) at the drop of a hat just like Edward does to Bella in New Moon.

Jacob :

Zig Novak. He goes after the same girl many times, and most of the times he decides to make a move is while shes in a relationship, thus creating romantic tension and a love triangle. He is also a lot of muscle and uses his knowledge of the world around him to protect himself and others on many occasions, such as Jake using his knowledge of the Wolves and the forest.

Alice:

Imogen Moreno. She knows who she wants to be friends with and knows what she has to do to become close to them. Often she will drop into conversations randomly with cryptic messages. She also has a very eclectic fashion sense. All of these are pretty much identical to Alice IMO.

Jasper :

Sean Cameron, He has a dark past that he isn’t proud of and often will have time controlling his anger, but all in all he wants to be better and often will lean on his significant other to see what he should be doing morally.

Emmett :

Spinner Mason, The epitome of a himbo, just as Emmett is. Sure in the beginning of the series Spinner was often problematic, but he wanted to learn and once he did he became a reliable source of support for all his friends. He is also super tough and does ‘whatever it takes’ to look after people on many occasions.

Rosalie:

Paige Michalchuk. Paige is queen B at Degrassi for many years. She is gorgeous and confident while still wanting to be there for those she cares about. Much like Rosalie, Paige has also had an unfortunate history with men and it gave her a fire to fight back and look out for others in the future.

Carlisle:

Marco Del Rossi. Marco is the dad friend. He is super smart and wants to put his skills to good uses such as running a blood drive for the school. He always looks out for others (except in a few random episodes) and does his best to make sure that his friends voices are heard.

Esme :

Holly J Sinclair. I’ll be honest it took me a while to think of who matched Esme and the best I could come to was Holly J in her later seasons. In the beginning holly J is definitely nt kind or caring, but I feel that these parts of herself come out more in her later seasons, especially in the Fiona storylines where she is so caring and helpful in trying to help Fiona with working out her sexuality.

Charlie :

Principal Archie Simpson. He is an absolute angel that is not getting paid enough for the amount he has to deal with from these kids. He constantly has to try and hand out advice to children that often aren’t listening and will stand there dumbfounded while still being supportive of their decisions.

Seth :

Adam Torres. Adam is the best, he is the best boy and I love him. When Adam is on screen I have the same fun filled reaction to when I see Seth. Adam is young but he just wants to fit in with his friends and be able to do all the cool things that his brother does even if it gets him into trouble. He wants everyone to get along while still making sure to stand up for himself.

Leah :

Many Santos, She is a bad-ss. Manny has had a few failed romances but she never lets it hold her back, she uses that as a fire to go and get what she wants get it while scaring you half to death.

Jae-Ha tries to be the protector in the relationship. However, Kimi makes it very clear that she doesn't need any "protecting". Kimi is not your average women. She can be just as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than Jae-Ha when she needs to be. She's smart, quick-witted, and will throw-down with the best of them in a fight! Sometimes, she surprises Jae-Ha with her high level of independence. It's quite the challenge for him. Once in a while, when she has no choice but to be vulnerable, she will give in and let him protect her. Jae-Ha picks up on her cues very quickly and is always there to aid her. On the flip side, Kimi is a "don't mess with my man" type of women. It's not jealousy, but a sense of loyalty to the one she loves. She will kill if she needs to and she's not afraid to shed blood. Almost like they're two wolves. Both equally strong, equally loyal, and willing to do whatever it takes to protect the other.

Cait - Is moderately fond of her when she is a pup. She tries her best to keep her out of harm's way due to the fact that her curiosity is always getting her into trouble. She tries to act less fond of the pup than she actually is. As she grows older, Cait has mixed feelings about her. Mostly because she has the worst habit ever of coming up to the side of Cait's bed in the middle of the night and just staring at her until she wakes up and jumps out of her skin. And the worst part is that the thing actually seems to get enjoyment out of her sudden fear.

Piper - Is in love with her at first sight. When she is a pup, Piper is always playing with her, giving her affectionate scratches behind her giant ears that are way too big for her tiny body. She also loves to give her little treats here and there, despite the fact that F!Sole always tells her that human food is not meant for the pup. When she grows up, Piper still pretty much treats her the same way. Except now she has to try to keep her treats out of the creature's reach which is always a serious feat considering the animal's ridiculously long legs.

Curie - Absolutely adores her as a puppy. She tries to study her and take notes on her, but she is so playful that she oftentimes knocks her clipboard out of her hands as she tries to get Curie to play with her. Curie always gives in, giggling like crazy as she cuddles the cutie. When she grows older, Curie often comments on how beautiful she is and how smart she is. Now, she just grabs her clipboard in between her teeth and carries it around while Curie has to chase her around Sanctuary.

MacCready - Thinks she is the cutest thing as a pup. He is always calling her over as soon as he sees her and giving her tons of pets. He might even run around with her a little, letting her chase him. When she grows into a beautiful adult, he admires her beauty, but he has a serious issue with her sneaking up on him at night. One time, he legitimately though that she was some sort of shapeshifting wendigo because of her crazy long legs and the way her eyes look too intelligent to just be that of an animal's.

Deacon - Is pretty fond of her. He usually tries not to be seen with her in public, mostly because she stands out so much, but he does make time to give her plenty of pets when it's just around F!Sole's group. When she grows up, he finds her to be gorgeous but also extremely hilarious. He gets a huge kick out of how she sometimes sneaks up and scares people and how she steals things she shouldn't. She is literally the best prank buddy ever.

Codsworth - Treats her like an actual baby, and loves her to pieces. He oftentimes is offering to feed her and he sometimes even tries to give her a bath even though she absolutely hates getting one. When she grows up, he continues to care for her like this, and he will sometimes even wave a pincer at her and scold her when she gets into things that she should not. However, he does not stay mad for long since he loves her so much.

Hancock - Is really fond of her when she's a pup, and he tries to keep watch over her and ensure that nothing happens to her. Fortunately, since both him and Cait are focused on this goal, they usually succeed in keeping her safe. He is always offering her a pet when she comes by him, and he always talks about her with a warmth in his voice. When she grows to be an adult, he is always admiring her beauty, and he gets a good laugh out of her clever antics. She is just a great source of happiness for him.

Danse - Is absolutely in love with her as a pup. He gives her a ton of love all the time, having no problem with just hoisting her up and holding her for a while. When she grows up, he still loves her, and he is always giving her plenty of pets. Sometimes, when no one is looking, he still tries to pick her up and hold her. Perhaps the thing he most appreciates about her as she has grown up, however, is how she is so loyal. She is always protecting him but especially F!Sole. She almost never takes her eyes off of F!Sole and she loves her more than anything, which makes Danse very happy to see.

Preston - Utterly adores her. He likes to make reports to the Minutemen about how she's doing and what she has done, and it has become a great morale booster. She is always into something, even when she grows up. As an adult, her mischievous tendencies only grow, and he loves to report also how her intense loyalty to the General helps in crucial Minutemen operations.

Valentine - Is really fond of her. He always loves to see her playing and running around, her goofiness taking precedence as she acts silly. It just warms him to the core, and he always offers her plenty of pets when he (or she and F!Sole) come to visit. When she grows older, he just loves to watch her, her grace and gorgeousness a true marvel. He also really likes how she protects F!Sole and makes sure that nothing happens to her. It is one of his favorite qualities about her.

X6-88 - Does not particularly feel one way or the other about her. However, he does resolve to protect her always because of F!Sole's fondness for the pup. When she grows up, he cannot help but be impressed by her beauty. However, he is extremely aggravated by her intelligence, and she always ends up hiding something of his that is important to him which annoys him greatly.

Dogmeat - Absolutely is happy as can be to have such a wonderful playmate. As a puppy, she loves to play with him and they play chase quite a bit. He also teaches her as much about being a dog as he can, even if she does not always do it perfectly. When she is an adult, she can play even better, and they play-fight and have even better games of chase. There is the issue of him being a bit jealous when F!Sole spends time with her, but as long as he gets plenty of attention, he is mostly okay with sharing F!Sole with her.

Strong - Thinks she is a scrawny pup, but understands that she is a pet and not food. He tries to make sure nothing happens to her in his own strange way, and he has a bad habit of throwing her raw meat, thinking that he is helping to feed her. Of course, Codsworth has a fit every time he does this, fussing like crazy the entire time. When she grows up, Strong likes her fighting spirit and how she outsmarts enemies in battle. But he does wish that she would take a more straightforward approach oftentimes.

Maxson - Likes her well enough. He does not really think that wild animals should be pets, but he accepts it since F!Sole is so adamantly in love with her. When she grows up, even he cannot help but be stunned by her beauty sometimes, and he likes how she is so loyal to F!Sole and makes sure that absolutely no one touches her in battle. He thinks that is a greatly admirable quality, especially considering that she is part of a species that does not traditionally function as pets.

Sturges - Thinks she is just the cutest thing. He loves to play with her when he gets time, and she often just lies nearby him when he's working, sometimes running over and trying to jump on his head as she attempts to get him to play. When she grows older, he utilizes her cleverness and ability to swipe things so well in order to get her to bring him tools that he needs. It gives her a job, and it helps him. It's a match made in heaven.

Glory - Thinks that she is adorable as a pup, but is particularly excited to see her in her adult form. She cannot think of anything cooler than having such a gorgeous creature that is on her and F!Sole's side, and when the pup grows up, Glory is most certainly not disappointed. She is actually especially in love with her when she grows up. She loves the whole package--- the creature's loyalty, beauty, and intelligence. Glory just loves being able to march around with her and look like the most awesome team in the Commonwealth.

So I saw this post while browsing toa tags the other day. While I don’t think being obsessed with the school mascot automatically makes Toby a furry (though it is funny to joke about lol) since “being a furry” actually just means “being a fan of anthropomorphic animals” and doesn’t necessarily require any form of costuming or interest in such, it did get me thinking, hmmm...if he was a furry, what would his fursona be? 🤔 And from there I started wondering what Jim’s and Claire’s would be as well because y not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

BUT WAIT, I hear you say--haven’t you already drawn the trio as werewolves and wolfwalkers etc.? Wouldn’t those be their fursonas??

Well yes....but actually no.

I guess it’s a little hard to explain, but there’s a nuance between “[person] but as an animal” and a proper “fursona”. While a fursona is an animal character used to represent its person, it doesn’t have to physically resemble them at all as you would expect [person]-but-as-[animal] to. For example, if you were to design me but as a cat, you’d probably give it light brown fur and green eyes like I have irl. But my fursona, unlike my human self, actually has blue fur and purple eyes. You can give your fursona matching physical traits to your own if you want to, and some people do, but most use only a pinch of their irl appearance, if any at all.

The choices people make when designing their fursonas vary wildly from “it looks like me irl” to “it looks like who I want to be” to “I just really like this color scheme” to “this particular color/marking holds deep personal meaning to me” to “this particular pattern represents a particular defining moment in my life” to “idk it looks cool and i vibe with it” etc. etc. etc. Everyone has different reasons of varying depth for the decisions they make in designing their fursona.

Therefore, to design a fursona for Toby etc., it’s less a question of “what would this character look like as [insert species here]?” and more of “how would this character choose to present himself with his own [animal] character?”

And that’s a much trickier game than just transferring a character aesthetic to a new species. ^^; We have to kinda dive into the characters and makes some guesses about how they, if given infinite creative freedom to design an animal avatar with no rules or limits, would choose to present themselves.

So all that said, here’s what I came up with:

Starting with Toby because he’s the one who inspired the post. I think Toby might choose a wolfdog fursona. A lot of people who choose wolves as fursonas consider themselves to be overwhelmingly loyal to their friends, a trait that fits Toby very well. However, while Toby likes to be “cool”, I don’t think he really thinks of himself as much of an “alpha” type--he’s more of a sidekick, and he knows that, and he’s ok with that. He’s the wingman. So what better way to incorporate that than to add dog into the mix? Man’s best friend=Jim’s best friend. Sociable, humorous, and unwaveringly loyal. Wolfdog it is!

With the species decided, we can move on to the design itself.

I can’t imagine any form of Toby in anything other than warm colors. This is extra emphasized by the flamelike patterns on his legs and tail, which both speaks to his desire to be totally awesome-sauce as well as acts as an allusion to his flaming warhammer. It’s fairly common (not universal, but common) for people to give their fursonas a more “ideal” physique than the person actually has as a sort of way to live by proxy physical goals or fantasies they’ve been unable to attain irl for whatever reason. Given that we’ve seen Toby struggle with fitness from time to time, it wouldn’t shock me to see him take this route. His wolfdog self is still relatively short and stocky, but it’s all muscle, babey.

This fursona is strong, fun, boisterous, and generally just kicks butt. Concentrated awesomesauce flows through his veins. Just don't mess with his friends, or you’ll feel the flames!

Moving on to Jim. Jim was the hardest to nail down, and most definitely the hardest to keep my personal biases out of oof. Which I may have failed to do anways because yes, ok, I made my favorite character a blue feline, sue me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But hear me out first!

For Jim I ultimately settling on a cheetah/lion hybrid.

Cheetahs, in a way, are sort of the underdogs (er...cats?) of the feline world--at least, in their local ecosystems. They are built wholly for speed, not strength--and as such, just about every other large predator in their environment has them beat when it comes to raw strength. Remind you of a certain Trollhunter? plus the long lanky legs. don’t forget those lol

However, because of this disadvantage, cheetahs...usually surrender. They know it’s not worth it to defend their kill from larger, stronger opponents, so they’ll give it up and just catch something else. This aspect doesn’t quite fit our protective, selfless protagonist all too eager to risk everything to save his loved ones--so a pure cheetah may not be the right choice.

So what animal is brave and protective? That’s where the lion part comes in, of course!

Why not just make him a pure lion? Well, a little similar to making Toby a wolfdog instead of a pure wolf. A straight-up lion feels a little too “chad” for our sweet Jimbo. Too much of a jock.

Jim has the humble underdog nature of a cheetah as well as the bravery and fierce protective drive of a lion. Cheelion? Leetah? idk, but let’s design it!

Like Toby and warm colors, I don’t think I can possibly associate Jim with any color but blue. While it’s never directly stated, given that we’ve never really seen him wear any other color (with the exception of the Eclipse armor), I think it’s pretty safe to assume that that’s his favorite. Blue sweater, blue jeans, blue shoes, even his backpack and bedsheets are blue. So naturally, his fursona would be predominantly blue as well! Plus some yellowish accents to (somewhat) match the natural colors of his chosen species(s).

I imagine he originally designed the character without horns, but then added them after becoming the Trollhunter, since it became such a major and impactful aspect of his life.

His lion’s mane also continues down his back in imitation of the “mantle” found on baby cheetahs. This youthful feature could subtly represent the fact that he’s been forced to grow up too fast and take on so much responsibility so young--so his fursona can still be young and carefree as long as he likes even while his real self struggles with the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Lastly but not leastly, we have Claire. Out of the three, I think Claire was actually the easiest to choose--or at least, I had the clearest idea of what I thought she might go for.

Claire is a bit of an interesting duck, because while she’s shown to be fairly popular at school, she’s definitely far from the stereotype of The Popular Girl™. Yes she’s smart and pretty, but she’s also a little spunky or even a bit quirky--she’s a theatre kid, she’s a huge fan of hard rock band Papa Skull, and while I wouldn’t quite call her “rebellious” per se, she’s certainly willing to bend some rules if she feels the situation calls for it (not telling her parents that she was going to the concert with Steve, literally sneaking into Jim’s basement to try to find out what was up with him, etc).

That said, I think Claire might go for a hyena fursona--something a little out of the box, but not totally out of left field. (she also shows a slight Gurl Power™ streak here and there “the staff was not meant to be wielded by man--” “I am not a man!!!”) and if you know anything about hyenas...well, yeah lol)

I think Claire would lean into her punk-rock “rebellious” side with her fursona design. This character is completely free of the pressure of being the councilwoman’s daughter and having to maintain her mother’s public reputation, and thus allows Claire to express a less restrained side of herself. She has a bold semi-edgy color scheme with bright accents (and some earrings to match her person’s hair clips) while still remaining feminine and (her own brand of) fashionable.

This fursona is spunky and sassy; she’s spicy and sweet all rolled up into one. She knows what she wants and she’s not afraid to chase it down. She lives her own life and she’s dang proud of it.

....sooooo yeah there’s my take on what Toby’s, Jim’s, and Claire’s fursonas could hypothetically be. And I guess since this post was inspired by a joke about Toby’s infatuation with the school mascot, here’s just some quick thoughts on how they might approach fursuiting to end us off:

Jim I don’t see as much of a suiter. He might try it once or twice if given the opportunity, but at the end of the day it’s not really his cup of tea--he’d rather act as the “handler” for his friends, if anything.

Toby and Claire, on the other hand, I could definitely see as suiters. In fact, with her interest in acting, Claire would probably particularly enjoy it--she’d be one of those suiters who really gets into character, absolutely refuses to break the magic publicly (outside of any actual medical emergency), and popular at cons because she just performs so well.

Toby, meanwhile, would be the more chill type--uses his normal voice in-suit, isn’t really too stressed about “breaking the magic”, just kinda hanging around like he would normally except “look I’m a talking dog, cool right?”.

also while I was typing this it occurred to be that since Eli is canonically a cosplayer then he could be a fursuiter as well; in his case i imagine he actually made his own suit it’s a protogen and it’s full of little LEDs and other electric gadgets, it’s not the prettiest thing ever as sewing is not his forte but boy did he try!! good for him. good for him

Disaster Bisexuals ~ R.C. (part 1)

A/n: Haha short little series because I’m simping for this bitch HARD. Male reader as usual yaaaaaaay

Being Jack Morton's best friend was starting to be the worst decision Y/n had ever made. Jack respected Y/n's refusal to be part of the Order but when Jack got attacked by a werewolf and went to investigate, of course Y/n was brought along.

They had always been a team. Jack had a very strong sense of right and wrong, tending to protect the people he cared about with a passion that Y/n found refreshing. On the other side, Y/n had a reputation for being a very cold, reserved person. People used to mock him for being a sociopath, using his intense curiosity and how he was so slow to trust or care as reasoning, even if all it had ever been was an effort to protect himself. In fact, once he does care about someone there was absolutely nothing he wouldn't put himself in front of to protect them. As it turns out, he cared so much that it often caused him, forcing him to be cautious who he handed out his heart to.

Y/n was incredibly smart, Jack just as resourceful. With their combined minds, Jack's good instinct, and Y/n's terrible luck on always finding himself in just the place to put him as direct danger as possible, they ended up getting things pretty well figured out in the end.

So when Jack went into the woods chasing down a werewolf of all things, of course Y/n came along. It was only once they got to the house that Jack's instincts kicked in. "We cannot go in there."

Y/n looked at him like he was an idiot. "Are you kidding? We came all this way and you're just going to leave?" It was Y/n's one weakness. The reason he always found himself inches from death. He was, above everything else, curious. Once he'd caught the scent of something he thought was really interesting or cool, he couldn't be turned off from it until he figured out every question he had. When he rarely ever ran out of questions, you can imagine how far he ended up going before he’d even consider stopping.

Well, if Y/n was going in so was Jack. "Fine. Lead the way."

In the very front, bouncing on his toes with eagerness, Y/n blazed a trail that was far too fast for Jack's liking. They actually made it into the house and to the weird door with the creepy staircase leading down to a basement that looked like one of those places that was built specifically for things to go wrong at. Jack could feel the horror movie energy so strong he could almost hear the soundtrack.. Jack caught Y/n's arm. "We are NOT going down there. We're leaving. NOW."

It was then that Y/n looked behind them as he was pulled short. There, was a full fledged werewolf hulking in the doorframe. Y/n locked gazes with the thing and his eyes widened. "Jack, look out!" He pulled Jack forward, launching himself toward the wolf as it attack. Thankfully Jack tripped and tugged Y/n back, causing the claws of the beast to rip up his back instead of his chest. The wolf seemed so shocked that it actually took a step back- just in time for Jack and Y/n to nearly topple down the stairs and get into the room in the basement. Jack pulled them into a second back room that had an alter and a bunch of chests. Even sketchier than the book room that they'd had to go through. Even sketchier than the basement staircase that was made for things to go wrong at. This is where people came to die.

Y/n, ever loyal to his role in the story, was indeed dying.

Unlike the countless other times they’d both found themselves a little too close to danger for it to be comfortable, this time Y/n was badly hurt and bleeding. Heavily. Not even shock could keep him going much longer as his heart raced and he lost blood even faster. "What are we going to do?" Y/n whispered, hearing the wolf from before banging against the door again and again. They had no way to get out - no windows or other exists - and Y/n was already paling. He would die here and then the wolf would kill Jack when the door was finally busted through.

Before Jack could get them out of this predicament like he always did, both boys' attention was dragged away from the door. Two chests had moved, turning on their side without prompting from the boys or anyone else. The lids opened. Hopped up on adrenaline and with too much going on to think straight, they stepped forward to investigate.

They weren’t kidding when they say that curiosity killed the cat.

They weren’t dead at least... but they were immediately swallowed in fur so that had to count for something.

Long story short: Greybeard chose Jack and Midnight - popularly referred to as "canon fodder" - chose Y/n.

Things only got more complicated from there, but Y/n seemed to be adapting to it a lot better. He had chosen his side. He had played a lot of d&d in his time and this felt like one of those campaigns; he was part of something really important. More importantly, he was learning about something really cool. For every answer he got he had three more questions and with a bit of reading he could answer every single one. He took it upon himself to read each and every book the wolves had that he could, learning more and more every day. He never ran out of things to learn, even being able to get new information if he’d already read the book. In fact, the more times he read something the more he realized he was missing. It was curiosity’s playground!

While Jack flew off the wall and was constantly almost dying, and everyone else debated whether both boys were worth trusting, all Y/n Did was learn. At first they were hesitant around Y/n as he was close to Jack (who was constantly going back and forth on loyalties, even if he came through in the end) but... well, all Y/n did was read endlessly, ask unending questions, and answer the call for help when needed. His curiosity was a little annoying at times but mostly harmless. He was dependable. More importantly, he was loyal. He’d meant that oath, and it showed with just how compatible he was with Midnight. It didn’t take the others long to trust him.

His trustworthiness really came through when he used his knowledge to find a book Jack vaguely alluded to being in the library. Hamish had gotten hurt and whatever weapon had been used, the wound wasn’t healing. It was in fact rapidly getting very very bad. Y/n was able to navigate the shelves in just a few minutes, whipping up the salve and taking care of Hamish when Lilith and Randall were clueless and Jack was distracted by something to do with the Order.

Y/n saved Hamish’s life, even when Jack was struggling and had been suffering without Y/n’s usual participation. That was all they needed from Midnight’s new host.

Ironically, Y/n had been trying very hard not to get attached. He was trying to stay here for Jack, and for all he was learning, not the people who had started to look to him for information and smiled at him when he delivered. Not the people that gave him nicknames and memorized his favorite alcohol combinations and walked to class with him and studied with him and talked endless shit like normal friends do, and listened to him rant in turn.

That had always been Y/n's biggest weakness, though. Werewolves and magic? Easy. Becoming a champion for said werewolves and being thrown into a world he had not signed up for? Fine. Almost dying to get chosen as a champion? Whatever! Not getting attached to the people who were quickly becoming his family... and, more importantly the pretty boy who seemed to be the biggest dork ever?

God help Y/n's heart.

Above everything else, it was Randall Carpio that was making Y/n's life a living hell.

While Jack went off about Alyssa whatever-her-face and Edward (he listened more to the parts about Jack's dad because he knew Jack needed someone to hear that) Y/n couldn't help but relate in a way that he'd never related to Jack before. See, the problem with joking that someone is a sociopath is that they start to think about it. Consider it. Believe it even. Y/n had never had feelings like this for anyone before.

He knew he found people attractive. He could appreciate that Jack had really pretty eyes and a nice jaw line. He could appreciate that Alyssa's smile was bright and her voice had a soothing tone to it. He could appreciate that Hamish was really sexy in that "I'm in charge and know what I'm doing, I dare you to defy me" top kind of way. In the same way, he knew that Lilith was gorgeous and powerful and could see why someone might be attracted to her. Aside from appreciation or aesthetic admiration though, Y/n didn't catch feelings. If he found someone attractive, he had sex with them. Then it wouldn't pan out and he would move on.

It never panned out.

Obviously.

Randall was... different.

Randall made Y/n feel stupid.

Like that one time Jack tripped and fell into a creek and almost drowned and Y/n and jumped in after him. It had been rainy season so the water was high and rushing. It would have been better to get a tree branch or look for somewhere to catch Jack. Whatever it was, anything would have been smarter than jumping in so they were both disoriented by the chaos in the current. Jack almost pulled Y/n under in an effort to get air. Only by a miracle had Y/n been able to think clearly just enough to catch something so Jack could pull them both to shore. THAT level of stupid, that had him between Jack and a fucking werewolf and inches from death because of a claw wound on his back. The kind of stupid that had lead them into that house to begin with.

Randall made Y/n feel giddy. Every time the brunette was around Y/n's energy levels skyrocketed. He could never sit still and his old stutter he’d sword was dealt with ago resurfaced far too much, making him cringe and go silent a lot because he didn't want to hear it. Randall made a joke and Y/n laughed every time. Every time they got close or brushed, Y/n was hyper aware of it. In fact, Y/n was consistently hyper aware of Randall no matter where he was. Y/n had never had a problem with nudity before he got naked in front of Randall and suddenly he couldn't breathe.

As time passed, Y/n got used to dealing with his emotions. He had never had to hide anything like this from anyone before but no one had said anything so he was pretty sure he had kept it under control. If Jack knew he wouldn't have stopped teasing Y/n about it, and surely Randall at the very least would have said something if he knew? Or at least flirted with less people, one could hope.

Speaking of, Randall flirted with SO MANY PEOPLE. He was constantly talking about how attractive everyone was and if he saw a chance to make a move, he did. It was driving Y/n insane. He found himself avoiding Randall, doing his homework in his room and trying to ignore his roommate. Or in the basement again, reading books and memorizing things that he thought might be useful- like the concoction that had cured Hamish. He read and reread and learned. Between school and this whole new world of magic and trying to help Jack get his shit together, Y/n stayed busy and kept his grades up. With all the shit being thrown at him, he was feeling proud of himself and better than he had in a long time. He was thriving.

Then Randall began hovering. No matter how much Y/n tried to avoid him, Randall was there anyway. Whether Y/n was studying and Randall came over, claiming the others were being annoying and he hated studying alone, or he was in the basement reading when Y/n was, or he was asking Y/n for some thing or another, or even dragging Y/n out for drinks and hang outs that Y/n really tried to not enjoy...

Randall was insatiable.

One day Y/n grabbed a book from the basement library and Randall claimed he wanted to read it. When Y/n handed it over, Randall continued to ask if Y/n could read it out loud instead because Randall couldn't actually understand the text. Latin, which Y/n had for sure seen him read before. And it didn’t stop there! If Y/n ever sat anywhere that could fit two people, Randall sat with him. If Y/n found himself playing with his food, Randall stole some with that stupid grin on his face. If Y/n wanted to do something in his spare time, Randall found a way to be a part of it. If Y/n was engaged in a conversation but not saying anything, Randall would ask his opinion like they were in a class discussion and got extra points for including quiet kids. Y/n began to wonder if Randall was as touchy with the others as he was with Y/n. Randall was ALWAYS touching him.

The sudden change was freaking Y/n out. He felt flustered and unsure and embarrassed and confused constantly. He wasn't sure what was going on or how to handle it. How do you solve a problem when you don't now what the problem even is? Or if it was a problem at all...

Jack made it even worse.

"Will you stop flirting?" Y/n's heart stopped when Jack said it, unsure where it had come from or why.

Randall looked at Jack with an eyebrow raised. "And why would I do that?" He hadn’t lost his cool in the slightest, and if his smirk said anything it seemed he had even enjoyed Jack’s outburst.

Jack rolled his eyes. "You're making Y/n uncomfortable. He won't say it because he doesn't want to offend you, but I've known Y/n basically our whole lives and he's never liked anyone before. Just leave him alone."

Jack meant well. He did, Y/n knew that. But Y/n felt the stares of his childhood. The people that would laugh and poke fun and tease. Call him heartless. Ask him what it was like to be broken- to not like anyone. Girls who hated him because he didn't return the feelings they had. Boys who tormented him because everyone accused him of being gay and closeted. Teachers who did that generalized "leave him alone, he's just different than you guys" like being different wasn't the single worst thing you could be when you were a kid in a small town.

The realization that Jack thought Y/n was incapable of liking anyone crossed his mind and it was too much. Maybe Y/n hadn't really been coping well. He'd taken everything one step at a time, carefully and on purpose like he always did. But he was hurting and struggling, especially with this new emotion that effected him so deeply. An emotion he hadn't experienced until now. And, magic? Fucking MAGIC?

Y/n felt his eyes water and locked gazes with Randall for a second before he turned and left the room.

He didn't cry. Y/n didn't cry. It wasn't a thing he could control, he just didn't ever really cry. He might shed a few tears, but even that was rare. He just wasn't capable of really crying. It had always made him feel too vulnerable and awkward, but topped with the accusations of being emotionless, on top of the pressure to hold it together as a man, AND all the teasing he’d gone through in his childhood? Yeah, no. The thought that emotion could be so much and so strong that your body couldn't physically hold it in anymore made Y/n feel icky all on it’s own. So he didn't.

He did that day.

The next day was the next time he heard from anyone. Y/n got a text from Jack saying the pack was going out for drinks. Randall seemed to have gotten rejected by someone, and with Jack's rockiness with Alyssa right now they were day drinking to get rid of heartbreak or whatever. Y/n didn't go. He wasn't heartbroken after all. It's not like he had lost anything. He had nothing to lose. He still had all the friendships he'd started out with. Besides, even if Randall had been flirting it obviously hadn't meant much to him because a few hours later Y/n was picking them all up after a bar fight had broken out. Well, all of them but Randall - who had disappeared in the middle of it with a random girl.

Randall wasn't back that night when Y/n stayed up late waiting for him. He sat and did an essay that wasn't due for a month just to have an excuse, but it got super late and he got tired and he couldn't rationalize it any more so he went to bed. Randall wasn't back the next day either when Y/n woke up for class. How long did Randall usually stay out with someone he slept with? Did he stay in the morning and cuddle? Give a little kiss after he made breakfast? Did he walk around shirtless, hair a little messy? Did he smile as he flirted? Winked? Hold them from behind, chin on their shoulder and a soft look in his eyes? That was a little fishy, and definitely never anything Y/n had done with his one night stands... maybe Randall was different. Maybe all people who weren’t like Y/n were.

"Y/n?" Hamish was standing there, waving his hand in front of Y/n's face. When they met gazes, Hamish continued, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah." Y/n laughed sheepishly. It seemed that Hamish had called Y/n quite a few times. "What's up?"

Hamish's expression stayed rather dark, causing Y/n's smile to drop. "Have you seen Randall?"

Y/n's heart stopped in his chest. So Randall still wasn't home, and it wasn't normal. "I haven't, no. Do you think he's in trouble?"

Hamish frowned deeper. "I don't know. Find Jack, will you? He isn't answering my texts or calls. I'll find Lilith."

Y/n stood, nodding, and they parted. Y/n found Jack, of course, coming from a talk with Alyssa. "Why is everyone blowing up my phone?" Jack demanded.

"Randall is missing," Y/n told him. Jack sobered up at hearing that. "Come on." They headed back to the house where Lilith and Hamish were waiting. They discussed before all going separate ways to look for him. Nothing seemed to be giving any hints until Jack brought everyone back. He - to no one's shock and everyone's annoyance - had Alyssa in tow. Thankfully Hamish kept Lilith at bay long enough for Jack to explain how Alyssa could help, because without Alyssa's tracking spell the pack never would have found the weird science facility. They never would have gotten Randall out... even though all the added drama not being involved would have been appreciated.

Y/n didn't hear any of it though. The more danger it was revealed that Randall was in, the more anxious Y/n got. He was so relieved when he saw Randall that he would have done something stupid if not for Lilith rushing forward and hugging him... and then slapping him, adding a, "Never do that again."

Randall scoffed softly. "Missed you too Lil."

Y/n felt eyes on him and looked over to Alyssa. Her eyes moved between Randall and Y/n, her lips curving in a knowing smile. Y/n looked away from her. It didn't matter what she knew- no one would believe her anyway. Randall nodded to Hamish and then passed Y/n with an awkward smile. Y/n opened his mouth to say something but then- he didn't. Randall moved on without noticing and whatever Y/n was going to say was completely lost.

"Everyone back to the Den," Hamish ordered.

"Even her?" Lilith demanded, motioning to Alyssa.

"Especially her," Hamish replied.

Alyssa rolled her eyes. "I could destroy you with a snap of my fingers."

"But you won't." The words tumbled from Y/n threateningly. She met his eyes evenly, accepting his challenge.

"But she can't," Jack corrected lightheartedly, trying to keep the peace. He already had enough of his friends hating Alyssa. If Y/n did, he didn't know what he'd do. "Not yet anyway." They exchanged a smile and Y/n glared. He averted his eyes from the couple that was becoming a pair that was really beginning to bother him. When he locked eyes with Lilith, they smiled with each other. Amidst all the other bullshit it was a nice exchange, especially because Y/n had been struggling to get on Lilith's good side.

"You know as well as I do that we need to talk about this." Hamish's voice was slow and reasonable. No one argued.

They all began to head back to the Den, Y/n catching up with Lilith as they walked. Before Y/n could think of something to say to Lilith, she said something first. "Why won't you talk to him about how you feel?"

Y/n almost tripped. "Talk to who?" He tried to play it off but she shot a look at him and he felt that he had already lost this battle. He sighed but didn't budge.

Lilith rolled her eyes. "You know he feels the same way about you too, right?" Y/n still didn't say anything, and after a while Lilith added, "Usually I'm the quiet one." Y/n did smile at that. Neither spoke until they were almost at the house and Lilith stopped Y/n short, gripping his wrist softly. "I saw how worried you were today. How reckless. And don't think we all don't know why you don't study with us or come drinking or spend time with us ever. I see the way you look at him when he's around. I thought you had a thing for Jack at first which is why it took me so long to say something, but... you're really good. Better than Jack. You're loyal and curious and actually kind fo fun. Coming from someone who hates people, I like you or whatever." She seemed really awkward in this moment of vulnerability and Y/n softened at the effort she was making. "I hate seeing him suffer. I hate to see you suffer too. After what Jack said about you not liking anyone or whatever, Randall won't listen to me. Please-"

"Are you guys coming?" It was Jack. "We all need to be here for this."

The two nodded, letting Jack go inside. "I will," Y/n told Lilith. "Try, at the very least. I've never... before him, I've never liked anyone at all. I don't know how to do this."

Lilith actually laughed. It was a sort of huff, her smile small and slightly sarcastic, but it was still there. "Welcome to the club, Y/n. None of us know how to do this. Least of all people who do it all the time."

They headed inside. Y/n's eyes found Randall immediately. He was surprised to see Randall looking back. They didn't look at each other long- the second they were caught looking they both looked away.

Hamish made drinks. He offered one to each of the people in the room. Randall turned his down. "You never pass up an aprés-kill drink."

"I'm not in the mood," Randall dismissed. Y/n frowned, taking his. He wasn't usually here for this tradition but he wouldn't mind a little alcohol in his system right about now.

"Aprés-kill?" Alyssa asked.

"We all have our traditions," Lilith told her.

"Yeah, we have aprés-kill, and you kill innocent people." The words were accusing. Randall looked at Alyssa directly when he said them. Even Y/n's eyebrows came together in surprise.

Randall was pretty laid back. He was the one who'd talked everyone into letting Jack join. Y/n was there when Randall had stood up for Jack despite everything that was putting the Pack in danger. Because Y/n had vouched for him and because Randall had a good intuition. Because he gave people the benefit of the doubt. Now he seemed like he was about to tear Alyssa’s throat out right then and there. And sure, Randall had never hesitated to kill before but he was almost murder hungry. Actively into it, driven. Craving. It was so unlike him it was startling.

What had happened to him in that lab?

"That was an Order-backed operation?" Alyssa seemed genuinely surprised.

"Doing a bang up job with your undercover work there buddy." This he directed to Jack and Y/n began to get agitated. He had never dealt well with people coming for Jack.

"I have never even seen that guy before." Jack's response was dismissive. He wasn't dealing with the blame game this time.

"No one's blaming you Jack," Hamish assured. Y/n didn't agree with his assessment.

"Hemmings went rogue," Alyssa cut in. "It's the only explanation."

Randall scoffed, "Of course!" He faced Alyssa again. "Because the Order isn't inherently evil."

Alyssa, who had sat down at this point, looked about ready to shoot to her feet and fight Randall right there. "My Order would never sanction that."

"Right," Lilith remarked sarcastically. "They only torture people in a fun way."

Alyssa scoffed and Y/n stepped forward. "Wait what? What do you mean fun way?"

"Oh you didn't hear?" Lilith responded immediately. Eagerly. "The Order tortured Alyssa for information when they thought she knew about us. She didn't give them anything for whatever reason-"

"Her crush on Jack," Y/n said under his breath.

Lilith nodded. Alyssa scooted forward. "Hold on, now torture bothers you?"

"What's that supposed to mean?" Lilith demanded. She had eased at Y/n’s interjection, but now she squared up again and the tension and emotions in the room became that much more tense.

"You're not the least bit curious as to why you were kicked out?" There was an energy suddenly between the two girls and a pause that seemed too long.

Hamish looked between the girls. "Wait, you two know each other?"

Alyssa looked to Jack who spoke next. Whatever he was about to say, the fact that she was too scared to say it herself already had Y/n anxious. "Lilith was in the Order."

"Is that true?" Randall stepped forward and Y/n instinctually moved between them, just in time to catch Randall when he almost launched at Lilith. "HEY!" He sneered the word at Lilith, but when Y/n stopped him he turned his aggression immediately to Y/n without hesitation. "Get off of me!"

"Randall, chill out a little bit." Jack stood, as protective of Y/n as Y/n was of Jack.

Randall stayed away from Lilith only because Y/n wasn't budging. Because of that, he turned on Jack. "If it wasn't for us you'd be another one of their fucking drones."

Jack was quick to defend. "I thought they were trying to make a difference, do something good."

"It was you who taught us what we know," Y/n reminded. He was trying to remind Randall of what he'd thought before, but it seemed to do more damage than good.

"I never should have made Jack a knight," Randall snarled.

"No you probably shouldn't have," Jack remarked rather bitterly.

Y/n spoke up again. "If he hadn't been a knight, I probably wouldn't have been either. Think of all we've learned since then, and how far we've come despite how rocky things used to be. Aren't you glad you made him a knight? Aren't you glad I'm one?" Randall gave Y/n a look that made his blood freeze in his veins.

Alyssa intervened. "Can we focus?" Y/n was relieved when Randall looked away. His eyes fell to his feet and from behind him he felt Lilith’s hand almost touch him in comfort. He could imagine her face twisted with shock and concern, then shift to uncertainty if her comfort of all of them would be enough as her hand dropped away from where it had been reaching. Alyssa’s voice cut through the racing thoughts bouncing around in Y/n’s skull. "You murdered a high-ranking member tonight. They're going to be coming for you."

"Can we just kill her and get it over with already?" Lilith demanded. Her frustration at seeing all her friends to wound up was getting to her.

"Is that your answer for everything?" Alyssa demanded.

"Yes," Lilith remarked, snarky.

"No one is killing anyone else tonight," Jack ordered.

"You're not the boss, Jack." The room went quiet. Never before had Y/n shut Jack down. For a solid five seconds it was silent and with every single one, the tension and aggravation grew immensely.

Hamish cleared his throat. "He's right Jack. How about you let me call the shots?"

"Can you even make a decision without resorting to Beer Pong?" Lilith snapped.

Y/n's head began swimming. He'd never been good with big groups or emotions or arguing. The voices became distorted a little as he felt his chest squeeze. He wasn't exactly listening. It seemed he'd been out of it far too long but it could have only been a few second when he came back to Alyssa and Lilith, who were chest-to-chest. They had moved around Y/n to get to each other and Lilith's eyes were that statement silver glow. Alyssa had her knife out. Y/n was moving again, this time to get back in between the girls. "Guys calm down."

"It's not your job to protect everyone," Lilith sneered. Whatever Y/n had missed it had made Lilith aggressive enough that even her growing soft spot for him didn’t help ease her aggressiveness in this moment.

"It kind of is," Y/n argued, finding it harder and harder to keep his own cool.

Lilith's lip curled back. "So you're protecting HER?"

"I'm protecting YOU," Y/n responded, getting heated himself. He was tired of this bullshit.

"You don't think I can take her?"

Y/n made a sound in the back of his throat. Had he just growled? "What do you think happens when you kill her Lil? We struggle to be united enough- we'll never get along if she's dead because of you."

"And why should we care about how you or Jack feel?" Randall demanded.

Without hesitation Y/n rounded on Randall. "Because whether you like it or not, we're knights too! And whatever you have against Jack, you have no right to loop me in with him. I've done nothing but protect you guys and teach you guys what you should have already fucking known since day one."

Randall scoffed. "You're only here because Jack is- you said it yourself. You're never around. The only reason you even agreed to stay is because you want to know more about how we work. You don't care about us." Y/n growled again, his hands curling, claws extending.

Jack shot to his feet. "Edward Coventry is my father."

Silence. Dead silence. Even worse than when Y/n had spoken against Jack. Y/n stared at Jack in shock- not because he didn't know, but because he knew how much Jack absolutely did not want to tell anyone. Finally Randall spoke. "You didn't think to tell us that your father-" he spat the word, making Y/n flinch. "-is the leader of the FUCKING ORDER?" He was hysterical and Y/n was alarmed by it. Randall had never been like this before.

"It's none of your business," Jack dismissed.

Y/n stepped up again. He had to stay calm. He had to keep the peace. He didn't want to see anyone in this room dead tonight. Not even Alyssa. "Just calm down okay?"

"Don't fucking touch me." Randall stepped away. "You knew didn't you?"

Y/n frowned. "It wasn't my secret to tell you Randall. That would have been a betrayal of Jack's trust."

"Oh, Jack's trust?" Randall looked like he was ready to murder someone. Even with Y/n’s fluctuating control, Randall was only growing in agitation. "It always is about Jack, isnt it? Is Jack safe? Is Alyssa safe so that Jack can be happy? Are we all getting along so Jack can feel comfy here? Please don't kill Jack, even though he is putting your friends - practically family - at risk. Give Jack time. Jack this. Jack that. God, are you in love with him or something?"

"No!" Jack and Y/n said at the same time, faces twisted with disgust.

Randall scoffed. "I trusted you, man. I trusted both of you. You betrayed me."

"I betrayed you?" Jack finally sounded irritated, rather than tired and bored like before. The tension was getting to him as well. "You turned me into a fucking werewolf!"

"That's a mistake I can fix right now," Randal threatened.

Alyssa stepped up. "Randall, I think whatever Hemmings did to you is still affecting you." Her anger had completely disappeared, exchanged for shock that shone out of wide, analyzing eyes.

"You want to know what they did to me?" Randall demanded, seeming to be losing it a little. He was breathless and fidgety, shifting from foot to foot and looking at everyone sharply. EVERYONE, like he was waiting for even the long time members of his pack to attack him. "They opened my eyes to your bullshit."

"Randall," Hamish warned.

Randall whipped around, breathing sharply and fast. He screamed and ran- Y/n tackled him before he could even get close. Y/n was suddenly underneath Randall as they twisted and fought. Randall punched him once. Twice. Y/n screamed. Everyone was wrestling him and they were saying something but Y/n couldn't hear it with Randall's body squishing his face. He felt a hit- to Randall, though Y/n felt the impact through him, and then when Randall's body went limp. It was Lilith who pulled him out from underneath the now unconscious boy.

The second he was free, Y/n scrambled to his feet. "God I hate it here!" He screamed, tears rolling down his face. "I'm never like this. This stupid wolf!" He punched the wall and everyone jumped back. Jack was the first one to recover. He had seen Y/n like this once before. "I'm always... Putting myself in danger for you idiots and none of you even care!" His eyes fell to Randall and he took in a sharp breath. "You still don't care about me." That stopped Jack dead. Y/n looked at all of their faces. Those who knew, and those who were realizing, and those who had suspected and were now being confirmed. Y/n looked at those faces and he felt his heart twist in his chest.

He turned and ran and he didn't look back once, even when Jack called after him.
