Gotta love seeing concrete proof of liberal brainrot.
So, I use BlueSky a decent amount. It's kinda Twitter-like in function, but instead of algorithmic bullshit that actively pushes white supremacist content, it's an open-source platform that lets you curate your own feed - it's kinda like Tumblr in that latter respect, actually - that has a lot of really cool trans people on it. Overall, it's a great place, and my boyfriend enjoys it a lot too since it's NSFW friendly and he's an NSFW artist. And I just had my first experience of being knowingly blocked on there!
Essentially, someone I follow was responding to a post of a person who was saying no one should ever use Twitter due to how it's mostly a Nazi cesspool at this point, but was using that sentiment to push hate towards trans sex workers because there are more than a few of them that are basically forced to use Twitter in order to actually keep their income since no other website has the same level of users & engagement that actually allows them to pay their bills. I then made a kinda generic reply to the effect of "yeah I agree there's more nuance than this person seems to think there is, there's no reason for trans SWs to force themselves into poverty just because the main platform they're forced to use is fucking horrible." This lead to the person encouraging hate towards, and the harassment of, trans SWs to attempt to make a strawman of that statement calling me - a queer, neurodivergent anarchist - a Nazi sympathizer because I don't think trans people should go into poverty and starve just because the only way they can make money in our fucked-up system is by using Twitter to advertise their sex work.
She then blocked me for calling out her obvious strawman that refuses to acknowledge nuance, and found out from another user in the conversation that the person who blocked me is a liberal to the degree that, to quote the post, "[other user] resigned as her moderator after she insisted that Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wasn't a communist because that would mean he didn't support her ideals of liberal democracy and then she called a sexual assault survivor a liar purely because her abuser was a Democratic politician."
I don't understand how someone who claims to be a leftist and is a published academic refuses to engage with the facts of reality so thoroughly that she's doing the same kind of bigotry the people she claims to be against engage in. I should also note this same person ended up blocking and/or muting everyone in the discussion that was part of the exact minority group she was sending harassment towards, who were all being rather polite. I was the only one that got any level of rude and even then it was only after she called me a Nazi sympathizer for disagreeing with her.

Okay so maybe I’m missing something, but I really don’t understand how this “blue sky lets you choose how many hate groups you want to see” is worse than tumblr where the hate groups are all still here anyway, and there’s no real way to filter them.
Like I get that it’s bad that they have a “see more Nazis and white supremacists” option. But like Tumblr has one too. It’s called the search bar

"Rittenhouse and America are so intertwined, sometimes it's hard to tell one from the other." And this is why I read Rittenhouse as a metaphor for white supremacy.

In this new wave of transphobia, I have been seeing a lot of aggression towards cis women who are not performing womanhood "adequately" enough. Accusations are thrown at cis women if their voice is a little "too" deep, their faces are a bit "too" square, their clothes are a bit "too" masculine. There are even recorded attacks in public bathrooms against GNC women.
It is so blatantly obvious that transphobia is another form of patriarchy. Anyone who claims to be a feminist yet espouses transphobic ideology either is willingly ignorant or maliciously trying to prop up the patriarchy. Women's liberation will only actualize once we have trans liberation.

I got the majority of this information from the YouTuber Annamarie Forcino's video "The Alarming "Gnome Hunting" Trend No One's Talking About". (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pf0bZOMuVFs)
This post is to help spread this information.
Please be aware:
• If you come across anything with the term "gnome hunting" or anything listed below online, block and report the account immediately. If you come across it offline, covertly and safely get the absolute fuck out of there. Warn others.
• Keep yourself safe. As with any bullshit like this these people may be violent. The wearing of tactical gear and the use of the word hunting when talking about a group of human beings is not peaceful or respectful of life. Exercise caution. Especially if you are in a group the groups they're in target.
• This is mostly on TikTok, DO NOT SEARCH FOR IT ON SITES WITH THE ALGORITHM. This will drive engagement and help it spread. If you come across it block and report it but do not search it.
The term "gnome hunting" is being used by antisemitists/neonazis/white supremacists to refer to themselves, they themselves being the "hunters" and those they target, Jews, being the "gnomes" and is a way for them to talk in code.
Things to watch out for with this specific wave of antisemitic bullshit are but are not limited to:
"join the hunt" = join us.
"millions wear the hats" millions = the Jews, hats = the Jewish Yarmulke/Kippah (a Jewish head covering). This phrase refers to Jewish people in general. When they use this phrase they are talking about Jews.
"kike" a slur against those of Jewish descent and or those who are practicing Judaism.
"88" H is the 8th letter of the alphabet. 88 = hh = "hail hitler".
"⚡⚡" "ᛋᛋ" "ϟϟ" Two lightning bolt emojis, two Greek letter ᛋ's, or two lighting bolt symbols side by side = the nazi ss. The nazi ss flag is two lighting bolt symbols side by side.
"Z" or "z" The English letter Z/z is used by russian nazis against Ukrainians who are being murdered by and suffering war crimes at the hands of russian nazis since the current russian dictator putin invaded Ukraine. Has unfortunately spread and is being used by nazis in other countries. The symbol has similarities to the wolfsangel.
"Ƶ" The wolfsangel. An ancient runic symbol believed to have been capable of warding off wolves, appropriated by nazi organizations in nazi Germany. Still used by white supremacists/nazis today.
(Cannot find a symbol for this.) The sunwheel, sonnenrad, or black sun. A symbol from old Norse and old Celtic culture. Also appropriated by nazis, still used by neonazis today.
"schizopost" "schizoposting" Used by neonazis when they use neurodivergence/mental illness (they do not struggle with) as an excuse for their bullshit. Ex: saying "I'm insane" "I'm schizophrenic" "me and the boys being schizophrenic" in the same post about "gnome hunting" or with any relation to nazi/white supremacists ideology.

it's wild to me how many Americans are quick to smear Hamas as r*pists, when it's been reported multiple times that there's no verifiable evidence it ever happened, while simultaneously ignoring all the sexual violence the IOF inflicts on Palestinian prisoners AND saying stupid MAGA shit as if Trump himself isn't a self-admitted r*pist! hypocrisy much?
I think, among many things, it's the superiority imperialist/colonial complex the United States government has. I've spoken about this on my page before about how the US has a rampant issue of sexual violence in their own military -American women serving in their respective units are told essentially that 'rape' is a hazard of the job -I always recommend watching The Invisible War. It's just over a decade old, but everything in that documentary is relevant.
The US doesn't care about victims and survivors of sexual violence -looking at the rape statistics of their own country alone, on top of the ways in which rape culture permeates on a societal and legal level, it always baffles me how any one of those American politicians can say they care so much when they don't.
The 'Hamas has rapists' and they have 'raped' hostages is part of a history, and ongoing perpetuation of white supremacist colonial discourses -which demonizes Black and Brown bodies. In this case, it deems the 'other' as dangerous, violent, and aggressive -as a threat to white women and white womanhood specifically. It's so alarmingly obvious it's being used as a tactic to deflect ACTUAL crimes of sexual violence against Palestinian children and women, and it's beyond frustrating. All this continues to do is stigmatize rape victims and survivors all around the world who are vastly unable to come forward because of the shame and stigma attached, among many other reasons.

one thing i find interesting about Dana’s words about Caleb and Evelyn from the livestream is how she seems to center events from Evelyn’s perspective (she refers specifically to the "Evelyn and Flapjack" lore when the question prompting the discussion also named Caleb, tho I don't think that's like. A calculated decision, it might just reflect who she views as the most significant characters in the grand scheme of things)
it’s about what Evelyn was doing in gravesfield, why Evelyn liked caleb, how she first presented herself to him. it’s about her family that he married into, the Clawthorne family, blood members like Eda, chosen/adopted members, like King and honorary members, like Luz. That’s who the story really centers around, so it makes sense that when approaching this nugget of lore, they'd tackle it from Evelyn's POV.
But i just find it interesting bc it’s so unlike 90% of the fan content centered around that era. Like most of the things ppl make related to Evelyn and the Wittebros is usually set from one of the brothers perspectives (with a couple of exceptions! @/moonmeg’s comics and @/litfeathers various drabbles and dubs all have a good balance of Evelyn and caleb/philip perspective!). Obviously this is mostly bc we got the Wittebros lore first (all the way back in yesterday's lie) and because we know (marginally) more about them, people have been playing around with them for longer and with more material.
But I'm honestly really interested in Dana's version of the story! Especially considering it seems like Evelyn had much more agency in the story than we give her credit for. She's the one who went to gravesfield, reached out to Caleb, presumably taking either the romantic or platonic initiative and thus setting things in motion. Why? we don't know! Dana says Caleb seemed more reasonable than the rest of the population in gravesfield, that they bonded over flapjack like dog owners over pets, which is all very interesting when we know he was a witch hunter, implies a lot of interesting things about why he was doing that career and what his status in the town social climate might've been like, but that's where fan interpretation comes into play, so I digress.
(also, this is a tangent but I'm a big fan of Dana implying that Evelyn took initiative? We only have huntlow to go off of but generally speaking the show likes to subvert overdone or overly stereotypical m/f romance tropes- while not being too pointed about it and still leaving room for nuance and characterization- and I like the idea that if they had the chance, they would've done that w/ Caleb and Evelyn, with her being the passionate Romeo and him being the more longing, pining-maiden type in the relationship hehehe)
Point to all this being, I think it's very funny how we all got wrapped up in the mystique and intrigue of (Belos' biased, carefully crafted and incomplete) narrative of ~the tragedy of the brothers Wittebane~ bc he was our main source that we failed to consider that Evelyn, who fits the character archetype TOH likes to use as a focal/viewpoint character much more cleanly that either Wittebane (what with being a young woman, a 'weirdo' estranged from her home, a Clawthorne, etc), might've actually been the perspective we should've been looking at things from. Dana's based for this actually

Mod Gatito, how did you tell that the white supremacy books anon was baiting? Because I couldn't and I'd like to know what signs to look for.
Signs to look out for? Hmmmm. So I wish I could explain this better but but books they listed are like fundamental white supremacist literature. Like they are books that if you read them are the stuff that their dog whistles are built from. The books themselves are dog whistles. They don't have signs they are and air horn.

I think in many progressive spaces, people are hypervigilant (understandably) of the fascist urge to preserve tradition to protect oneself from the degeneracy of the world that they almost... can't imagine traditions occurring in a neutral or "okay" way - i.e., traditions that are kept not because you want to shrink away from Degeneracy, but because you are a person living in the world.
And that's where it becomes important to actually question these impulses. By implying that tradition can only be kept and observed from the fascist's point-of-view of tradition, we only embolden fascism because now all tradition is "fascist," and you give ammo to actual fascists to say, "look at those cosmopolitan degenerates; without Tradition, you end up like that!"

I sincerely think that people's reluctance to even look at fascist communities for any extended period of time is a huge factor for why so many fascist dogwhistles go completely unchallenged in leftist and liberal communities online.
There's this idea that if you willingly and knowingly look at fascist rhetoric, then it's because you're interested in it and are being radicalized into it, but how can you fight against someone if you can't even recognize the imagery and language they use to recruit?
Yeah, look at lists of common dogwhistles and learn to recognize them, but also be aware that these communities are changing and evolving in ways many leftists are not prepared to acknowledge. There's also sub-communities that are even harder to recognize if you aren't already familiar with their rhetoric and their aesthetic.
Sure, you can safely identify hitlerfangirl1488 as a Nazi. You can see a sun wheel in someone's icon and know that they're a white supremacist. You may even know that "Defend Europe" is a nationalist battle cry against immigration and Islam.
But do you notice when that aesthetic blog posting photos of pretty women features a lot of carefully cropped and hidden white supremacist symbols? Can you identify which beloved and popular memes have barely hidden fascist and trad meanings? Do you notice when cottagecore bloggers tag their posts as "blood and soil" and would you know what that even means? Do you know the difference between reclaiming images and jokes vs uncritically spreading fascist rhetoric? Can you recognize when prolifers hide their anti-abortion stances behind claims of valuing the lives of marginalized people? Do you know the antisemitic implications of pretty much anything connecting reptiles to Jewish people?
Get familiar with this shit. Knowing what fascists are saying is the only way to recognize when they're infiltrating our communities and recruiting people.

On Tuesday, Rolling Stone reported that Matthew Belanger, a former Marine with neo-Nazi ideology, plotted with a group known as "Rapekrieg" to engineer a killing spree of nonwhite people — as well as mass rapes of white women to increase white fertility.
