question: do ppl ACTUALLY say things they don’t mean when they’re angry? or is that just an excuse after letting something true slip? i wouldn’t ever say something i don’t mean in anger, so the concept confuses me.
but something was said to me that is bothering me, though apparently was said in an argument and wasn’t meant. but i don’t rlly believe it wasn’t like, deep down true thoughts/feelings??? anyone have any insight? anyone say things they don’t mean in anger?
EDIT: this was a hastily worded post that i didn’t expect to get notes. this is a genuine question asked in good faith that i got a lot of amazing answers to!
also re: the many ppl saying “OP is lying about not saying things they don’t mean in anger because everyone does it”— i genuinely have never done that. if i say something mean while angry, i meant it. that’s literally why i asked this question and why the concept confuses me, because i wouldn’t do something like that so i wanted perspective from people who do it. idk why y’all can’t believe that lmao not everyone is as prone to anger and outbursts

[ cw: death mention / strangulation mention / stabbing mention / blood mention / self-sacrifice / codependency mention in tags / ]
I think a lot about how common it is for Raph to be the one to have direct focus put on him when Leo gets into all his near death experiences.
Like, when Leo is thrown off a building, it’s Raph who’s right there jumping after him, not even thinking about the consequences to himself when he does. When Leo almost gets skewered by the Krang, Raph’s right there to take the blow and send Leo to safety without a second thought. When Leo’s being strangled to near death, it’s a Krangified Raph doing the job, doing exactly what Raph would never, ever want to do. When Leo is telling Casey Jr to close the portal, it’s Raph who tries desperately to convince Leo otherwise.
Likewise, Leo is consistently very single minded when Raph gets forcibly separated from them. Both when in the sewers and by the Krang, Leo is dead set on finding Raph first and foremost.
I also think it’s interesting that during each of Leo’s near death experiences, the lightheartedness of his words during them goes directly hand in hand with both how close Raph is to him physically and how much danger Raph is also in in that moment. From a literal “I told you so” as Leo’s falling away from Raph to a soft joke about how “hero moves” are Raph’s style - both of these are on the more morbidly carefree side and both of these notably take Leo farther away from Raph and, in turn, have Raph not in immediate danger.
On the other side of things is the apology from Leo, heedless of the danger he himself is in as he seriously and genuinely speaks to a Krangified Raph face to face. Then there’s Leo’s freezing and desperation as Raph takes a hit meant for him and sends just Leo to safety, leaving Raph himself behind. Both of these involve much closer proximity and Raph being directly harmed - these together make Leo much more vulnerable in his words and actions, something not even the threat of death can make him.
These two care about each other so much, and they’re way too much alike for their own good.

i find it so fun when c!phil is only seen through the lens of assisting in his son's suicide and the damage he causes. But then nothing more. Because this is exactly what c!phil does to himself throughout the entire plot.
From that moment forward he only sees himself as his son's murderer that destroys everything he touches and something he must repent for by destroying everything that brought his son to this point including punishing himself. Like even he thinks he's the worst person and if the world isn't giving him a fitting punishment then he will do it to himself to feel better. Losing friends isn't enough, losing his limbs isn't enough, being used repeatedly isn't enough, ruining relationships isn't enough, starving himself isn't enough. And it isn't ever enough ! No amount of repent will ever make him feel better about how he assisted in the death of his son even if he is back from being literally dead !! Because we quite literally see him STILL spiraling despite this.
It isn't until he is told by his goddess that "he has to move on" and that "till be okay" and he finally accepts that at the very end because if he stays the way he is, he will die. Its particularly why i love the ending so much because we never see the end where they escaped to. We are just told in the same way c!phil was that "they will be okay" and we just have to trust that they will be and hopefully move on and begin to heal
c!phil does so many bad things but they all connect back to reasons that make sense for him as a character. He had one son and lost him to his own hands and this action ruined him in ways that puts his war crimes to shame. Yes he is not a perfect angel, but that is what makes him so likable because he also doesn't think so either <3

pls more stalker Nikto 🙏🙏 I live for it
Tw: this is a lazy post but also, delusional ish nikto, im so fucking lazy and this is so very lazy, apologies, but also, nikto being somewhat normal somewhat batshit insane, also imprisonment at the end.
Stalker Nikto who gives you sharp knives instead of flowers. Delusional in his thought that you would use them against him with lust in your eyes like he would. Nikto who stalks you and doesn't give enough of a shit to hide. Following behind you in the middle of the night but stopping right before your neighborhood, giving you a false sense of security even though he already knows your every move.
Stalker Nikto who fucking laughs when he realizes you haven't called the cops. Changing plans into something more...ah how would you call it? Normal.
Stalker Nikto who acts as the perfect date. Sure he's masked and intimidating just from his size, but he's nice and sweet to you isnt he? Somehow knowing everything you need the exact moment you need it.
Sharing a coffee with you, paying for your drinks, cooking your favorite food the way you like it, just the way you like it. Sure all those months hes stalked you were mainly for entertainment but he was taking notes of course, paying attention to your likes and dislikes.
Stalker Nikto who knows how to fight but doesn't really enjoy it after the first decade of non-stop violence, deciding to avoid conflict and go the long way. Actually being a fucking human being. And it works, wow, who would have guessed.
Stalker Nikto who starts getting greedy and marrying you. Keeping you all to himself in the property he inherented in the middle of the woods. His old home. Sharing something with you instead of you sharing something with him.
Stalker Nikto who confesses years later, nearing his late 40s that he was and is your stalker. Even if y'know. Said man. Literally has already married you. Keeping you imprisoned in the basement due to fear if someday somehow finding you gone. It would be too much for him to handle, won't you understand?
