Dearest ineffable mods
Thanks for your amazing work! Long time lurker, first time asker. This is my favorite library by far!
Do you have any recommendations of fics focussing on the staff of the Ritz? And how they view our favourite idiots throughout the years/dinner? Preferably not AU. I checked the outsider pov tag but didn't find any.
If you could recommend some, it'd make me immensely happy ❤️ thank you in advance!
Here are some outsider POV Ritz fics for you...
The Ritz's Biggest Ineffable Husbands Shipper by frogfaced (G)
The staff of the Ritz had created a name for the couple once, a long time ago, it had to have been at least twenty years or so ago by now. It stuck, whispered fervently when they appeared in the queue. “Did you hear?” A comment passed from one hostess to a waiter, whispered quietly almost like a secret kept close to her heart, almost like a prayer. “It’s them.” ----- Or, Aziraphale and Crowley have become something of a legend at the Ritz, and have become the basis for many of the employee's gambling problems.
The matter of the Definitely Not Husbands by plainrefillnotepad (G)
The waiters and waitresses who worked at the restaurant at The Ritz weren’t what you would call a tight-knit group. If there was one topic of conversation, however, which every staff member had at least heard of, it was the matter of the Definitely Not Husbands.
An Angel Dining at the Ritz by misslmf (T)
The staff at the London Ritz become quickly familiar with the regular customers that come into the establishment, especially if those regulars were polite and easy to remember in some way or another. A pair that stood out to every member of staff after a while were the two men that came in at least a few times a month, always seeming to have a reservation despite never ringing to book one. Which is why it was so unnerving when neither of them showed up for a month. *** Or, how the staff at the Ritz are also children of divorce since Aziraphale left Crowley
Table For Two by JM_Finnigan (G)
Thomas Kinsley has known the two regulars - the red-haired man and the blond one called Fell - for as long as he's worked at the Ritz, so he is caught quite off-guard when only one of them makes an appearance one night. The aftermath of Aziraphale's return to Heaven as told through a Ritz waiter's eyes.
Code Angel by orphan_account (G)
She didn’t fully understand this kind of miracle but she knew one thing for sure. When a Code Angel came to The Ritz, they should expect miracles to happen.
There Were Angels Dining At The Ritz by AstersLibrary (T)
The employees at the Ritz have their favourites. And they're no so subtle about them.

what are your favourite batcest ships and why?
AAA i love this question so much. i'm going to limit myself to a top five, because otherwise, i'd just end up listing all of them. the true joy of batcest is they're all so good for such different reasons and there are so many unique dynamics you can explore.
JayTim - it's funny bc, before i started this blog, i don't know if i would've put these two losers as my number one. but because i've done so much deep diving into their dynamic and i write them the most, i think it'd be a disservice for them to be anything *but* number one. their canon dynamic is just. so fun to play with. i truly love all of their interactions, particularly pre-Flashpoint. the concepts of Tim holding such contempt for Jason while Jason is weirdly obsessed with Tim. i'm a fan of Hannibal and Killing Eve and well. if this isn't a Hannigram-coded ship idk *what* is. i like ships where love and hate co-exist and there's no real "happily ever after", just fucked up co-existing, where they crawl back to each other like a bad habit and really, this ship is that so perfectly. the themes of jealousy in the Robin mantle. Tim wearing Jason's Red Robin suit to punish himself. i will likely never shut up about them. even in the New-52, there's such a substance to them, though the dynamic is wildly different. they will always be so weirdly dependent on each other's existence. i love them.
BruDick - you can't outdo the doer, i fear. i think i like BruDick mostly for the history of it, yk. there's genuinely *so much* queer history seeped into the homoeroticism of Batman and Robin, these two have been a symbol for queer people for decades. but the ship itself has so many dynamics i love. problematic age gap, "are we family or lovers", "i can't be in a room alone with you without getting into a screaming match but if you called i drop everything for you". all of it. i especially favor 80s/90s BruDick when they were in their divorce era just because it's so messy. Dick has canonically said he would die for Bruce, even during their arguments. no matter what, these two will always be single-mindedly devoted to each other. there will be other Robins, but none of them will compare to Dick Grayson, for Bruce. it's a unique and complicated bond that has endless layers to peel back. they always crawl back to each other bc no one else will match their level of intensity.
DamiTim - years and years ago, when i was a teen trying to people-please with how i existed in fandom, i used to insist i didn't like batcest and found it icky and gross. but there was one DamiTim fic that was my exception. that fic was my fucking roman empire. i reread it like once a year even though it's not completed and likely never will be i do not care. so now that i've killed the morality police in my head and i let myself ship what i actually want to ship, this ship holds a top place in my heart just bc of that fic alone. but in general i do fucking love their dynamic. similar to JayTim there's just so much mutual hatred in these two that has endless potential. Damian's insistence to not see Tim as a Wayne and as a legitimate brother/heir to Bruce is something you can play a lot if you give Damian an angry, fucked up crush on Tim he doesn't want to admit to. they have so many reasons to dislike each other, so to try to get them to slowly fall in love is a fun challenge. they either have a long complicated forgiveness arc and end up a happy married couple or they are the couple that tries to kill each other once a week. no in-between.
JeanTim - there's like. one person here on tumblr who goes as hard for this ship as i do and truly god bless them bc they feed me. Jean-Paul is too underrated in the batcest scene. once i reread Knightfall, i will have to help popular this tag on ao3. i enjoy both a very fucked up version of this ship during the peak of the Knightfall arc, where Jean-Paul is deep in his murder Batman era and Tim is trying to stop him to no real avail, but i *also* think there's so much you can do with the ship afterwards, where Jean-Paul is trying to make up for what he's done and be a better person and better hero. they're the peak Batman/Robin ship, to me. they truly care about each other, but have a very complicated/bloody history and i just. man i love it so dearly. i've been meaning to write a fic where Jean-Paul goes to Tim post the Sword of Azrael (2022) arc to properly discuss and apologize for all his actions in Knightfall for his personal healing and they end up fucking. it could be sweet and cute or kinky fun bc what is the joy of a character with that much Catholic guilt if you don't give them a weird religious kink.
BruCarrie - The Dark Knight Returns got me into comics and i will defend it till the day i die. Carrie Kelley can be pried from my cold dead hands. i just really love these two? Carrie took one look at that cranky old bastard and decided she was his problem. and Bruce is at a stage where he should be very averse to the idea of having a Robin, he knows it's a bad idea. but he just. accepts her anyway. idk how to explain their dynamic other than she plunks herself in his lap and stitches up his wounds while telling him he's an idiot and he lets her even if he's grumbling about it. they have the biggest age gap of any Batman/Robin ship and for that, they should get like. a dead dove gold star no matter how rare the pair is.
also honorable mention goes to BruTim, because *god* do i love the concept of Tim offering himself up to Bruce as Robin in every way, knowing that there are likely sexual/romantic implications to being Robin. it's one of my favorite flavors of batcest to exist. i don't view them as a "happily ever after" ship, because Bruce will always go back home to Dick, but it's a fun lil dead dove moment.

hi there! i'd just like to say that your kris and noelle "something else" comic has been driving me insane /pos and i'd love to hear more of your thoughts on those two!! their relationship is one of my favorite things in deltarune and your comic just got everything about them so right 🙏
thank you for reading "something else"! oh man, [more of] my thoughts on kris+noelle.... i sure got some of those.
Tumblr media
this was one of the first tweets i made after finishing chapter 2 nearly... freaking 2 years ago. and basically i've just been saying that over and over again in different ways because i'm still not tired of the concept yet and probably wont ever be LOL. i'm obsessed with how badly the narrative wants to force them into an easily categorizable dynamic, especially the romantic one in snowgrave. the literal THORN RING, the more possessive dialogue options, spamton calling noelle a side chick LOL... it all creates this unnerving visual novel bad end atmosphere that feels manufactured by someone who's only ever learned about romance through secondhand sources. they're two queer teens trying to navigate their changing relationship with the only role models they know being their parents' own failed heterosexual marriages. they're so divorced² (divorced children of divorce).
i also like that for being so tragically doomed coded they can be funny! both in a dark humor way and also like, genuinely funny, like the stories of them as kids with kris covering themselves in ketchup and hiding under noelle's bed lmao. i mean there's even something funny about the romantic trappings of the snowgrave route, like trying to put wedding cake embellishments on a crime scene... you know, funny like kids trying on their parents clothes but they're too big and for some reason they're also crying and covered in blood? um.
i'm also SOOOO interested to see how snowgrave will continue in chapter 3! i really liked the hopeful note chapter 2 ended on (well. i took it as hopeful anyway). there's that bit where noelle is talking to herself and she says something like "recently kris has been acting so strange and no one else has noticed... i have to figure out why" and then kris jumpscares her LOL but i think i took that one line and really ran with it. noelle really is the one who knows kris best and despite how scared she is, she's still determined to help them... i like the little subversion of victim/hero going on, the implication that kris might be the one who needs rescuing.
the additional story/lore that came with the spamton sweepstakes made me CRAAAZYYYYY like my GOD... it's cute that noelle likes glitches/creepypasta when kris is kinda a walking creepypasta <3 also, god, noelle falling asleep listening to kris playing piano in the other room... there's so much like. wistfulness and nostalgia and this like... distant/detached intimacy packed into how noelle narrates that scene. it's kind of funny how much there is to dig into when like on a surface level they're just fairly regular childhood friends who grew apart LMAO they're extremely deep to me okay...
on another note i guess i do ship them? i like their dynamic whether it's platonic or romantic (the best is a weird mix of both 👍). it just can't be boring LOL like... this is one ship where trying to apply cookie cutter tropes to them really falls flat and the game is ahead of you on that anyway. in terms of romantically shipping them, i honestly don't think they're doomed to repeat patterns forever... i think they could actually be good for each other! but that's not really the aspect of their relationship that interests me akldjf;alk;sdg maybe i will make 60 page comic of kriselle going to couples counseling some other time
ANYWAY i'm going to cut myself off here, because i really could go on forever lol. i'll give you some links for further reading though
hellspawnmotel's deltarune art
lula pillowbug99's deltarune art
this art by raspbearis which features prominently in my internal kriselle bible
my own unfinished kriselle playlist
my own essay on gender & allegory in deltarune if for some reason u are not tired of hearing me talk yet
okay bye now & thanks again for reading my comic!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(diff anon, related to the last few asks you got about the "Bruce slept with Talia and Ra's separately without knowing" asks you got)
Like, can you imagine if "accidentally slept with two people of the same family and now things are awkward" just... a regular thing for him? Yeah, Bruce *is* the world's greatest detective and therefore he's The NoticerTM, but his inner hard drive is sometimes so full with cases, languages he's learned Just Because and cool Gotham history facts that he sometimes loses himself in the sauce and forgets about the intricate web of relationships in Gotham high society. And since he mostly dates and hooks up for either his Brucie persona or for information, that falls behind too. Do you think that he ever dated a socialite for his public persona only to later realize that her father, a corrupt politician, was the guy who he hooked up with months before for an investigation? Do you think he has ever slept with two different parts of a married couple and now that he's realized that while talking to both of them at a gala he doesn't know if their relationship is open or not and is trying to figure it out so he knows if he needs to feel guilty or not? So many questions. Someone should write a crackfic about it.
OH MY GOODNESS ITS LIKE A REALITY TV SHOW!!!! *cackles* i can just imagine the drama.
Jason: uhhh, did Mrs. and Mr. Stevenworth piss B off or something? Why's he glaring at them so much? Dick: hm? oh! haha, naw, he slept with both of them a while back- separately- and is trying to figure out if he helped them both cheat or not. Its hilarious Jason: did he? Dick: Oh no, they've been divorced for three years now and are still friends and kept the same name, but he doesn't need to know that ~ Brucie Wayne: tricia I don't know if I'm ready to meet your parents yet- we've only been dating for a month! Tricia: oh don't worry baby, my parents are the nicest, most innocent people ever. They'll love you Alex, Tricia's father, who just so happens to be the biggest mob boss in Gotham History save Red Hood: uhhhh. hi Bruce: *under his breath* well he did love me but this is not what he meant ~ Oracle: uhhh Batman you should probably leave now Batman: what why? The case isn't done Oracle: yeah but uh *makes comm specific to just them two* your exes are here. And they're siblings. Batman: *whips around to discover the two hostages Nightwing saved earlier, holding each other in fear* oh come on ~ Bruce: *in the batcave* WHY IS IT ALWAYS ME?!?!?! Tim: uhh, B? Care to share with the class? Bruce: *shows him a picture of the news where the governor just dedicated a building to his daughter* Tim:??? oh wait thats the governor you slept with to get the security codes for- wait why is this a problem? Bruce: *points to building name* Tim: *???*.... why is his daughter named the same thing as the girl you're sleeping with right now... Bruce:... *hangs head miserably*
anyways thats all i could think of- if you couldnt tell i love this idea- if I ever get around to writing it I hope you find it and it lives up to your dreams!!!

Hear me out, MC is in the beauty or maybe even the fashion industry? And if this company is something they've created with their own two hands from nothing instead of it being a case of an already existing one switching leadership roles, they probably are also the face of their brand too, which isn't much of an issue when you're young and hot, but now you're in your 30s? Signs of aging are popping up and your body's changing. Sure, MC's still hot, but are they just 30s hot? Not to mention it's kinda hard to feel that way when the nature of beauty and fashion is so superficial and reliant on youth, youth that is slowly slipping away from you. I mean I don't think 30s is old at all but especially for women it's hard out there. Also twink death???? Do you stop showing up in your brand's advertising and marketing? Do you shift audiences? Do you change aesthetics if it was originally so heavily tied to you as a person? Do you double down and risk being seen as an old person trying to stay as young as they were before? At what point do you transition styles? And who do you find comfort in when it seems like you're running out of time, everyone around you is already coupled up, and you've had no luck after your divorce? And you know, if MC modeled for their brand they're probably on advertisements that the ROs see out and about, means nothing to B who has no idea who we are until the vacation, might be bittersweet to M who's probably happy MC is doing well after they lost contact, and hell for post divorce E who just can't escape their ex.
On a more lighthearted note, I think it's funny to imagine a MC that goes from super cool and rebellious to full on parent stereotype. Sorry you had to find out this way dear son that your kinda cringe dad who wears hawaiian shirts with cargo shorts and sandals with the most aggressive tan lines and hairy legs used to be everyone's dreamy bad boy type back in the day. People used to give everything up to be with him but now he hosts a neighborhood cookout every month and falls asleep at exactly 6:47pm in his recliner while the TV's on.
Haunts E? Yeah, that sounds like something MC would do. Pretty sure B would be freaking star-struck, and have hearts in their eyes instead. Hey, don't cut M slack, they'd be highly into it, trust me.
MC's son, looking at them starry-eyed: Teach me your ways!
If you are the same anon, who talked about untapped angst potential, I see it. I see it, now. Currently omw to the computer as we speak ✍️ Also bad-boy MC turned good sounds like fun to write.
Ah, the flavor text.
(Totally ignoring the fact that I have to slave away for it. I spent ten minutes figuring out why the code kept giving me an error only to realize how terrible my indenting was.)

Round 2, Match 3
Tumblr media
John Doe and Arthur Lester (Jarthur) from Malevolent vs. Kotetsu T. Kaburagi and Barnaby Brooks Jr. (Taibani) from Tiger and Bunny!
Propaganda for John and Arthur:
The inherent intimacy of having a guy (John) inside your (Arthur) head who you don't know the history or goals of but still bond over the atrocities you go through in your shared body. And sometimes he's an arsehole but you know that he wants the best for you and it's so much more than any other relationship they could have and in the end they always have eachother and I'm jealous of a sad British man and the voice in his head. They're friends and each others world and everything and I want what they have. OH DID I MENTION THAT ARTHUR IS FUCKINF BLIND AND JOHN IS HIS ONLY ACCESS TO SIGHT? IT'S BEAUTIFUL. Like John always takes such care to describe their surroundings (no seriously he starts waxing poetic). I mean yh he withholds it sometimes but every door has its issues. Anyways yh I love them and they deserve the world.
They are extremely close, both literally and figuratively. John is inside of Arthur's head, and they often fight in ways that have been referred to by the fans as 'divorce moments' but they still very clearly care about and love each other, in a way that is explicitely non-romantic. Their love is desperate and aching and they're not just friends, but they are definitely not dating, and a LOT of the fandom interprets them as queerplatonic.
Oh, the special kind of affection and friendship that can only bloom between a 1930s private detective and the eldritch entity that ends up possessing his eyes and left arm. 95% of this show is Arthur (the detective) bickering with John (the eldritch entity) like an old married couple, and falling in and out of trust with each other. Despite that they are both fiercely loyal to the other and by the point the podcast is at now they seem to trust each other implicitly - Arthur has to rely on John to guide him since John can see out of the eyes of their body and Arthur can't, but when they fall into an abandoned mine and are reunited (long story) they immediately fall back into that old, trusting rhythm. They share a body and their initial goal in the podcast is to be separated, but by the point we're at now they're not too fussed about it. They're making plans to go out to dinner and the movies. Also, Arthur is aro-coded - there's a big emotional arc that involves him accepting the fact that he never had romantic feelings for his wife, even during the birth of their child or her death, and how that doesn't make him a bad person or diminish the love he felt for that child.
Propaganda for Taibani:
The creators said that their relationship could be read as either platonic or romantic so why not queerplatonic

What about Tigerclaw x Spottedleaf has made you like the ship so much? I don't dislike it but I don't quite understand it either.
Well, the thing that kicked off my initial interest was the scene they had together in the first book, which I read as some type of flirty banter as a kid, and it later on snowballed from there the more I thought about it nowadays, I think LMAO Since then it's been like, my all time biggest ship in warriors, and I think about them all the time, even if I can't post about them a ton, I check the tag regularly and kinda just rotate them in my brain LMAO
It's customary at this point to mention I'm writing this while extremely tired, as I do most of my asks, so fair warning if any of this is kinda clunky. Other people have explained it WAY more eloquently than me, so if you're curious, I recommend looking in the SpottedTiger tag, cause others explain it in way more concise and understandable ways. I write most shit like I'm a madman at a whiteboard, but if that's your jam, you've asked the perfect person.
It's really a mixed bag why I started liking it-? A whole lot of things added up and got me hooked.
The difference in demeanors is fun, with Tigerclaw being threatening and ambitious and dramatic, while Spottedleaf is sweet and compassionate, yet extremely sassy, I feel like they'd play off of eachother nicely even in just comedic, non-romantic scenes.
Depending on how you want things to play out, you can basically sway how they effect eachother in however many different ways you want- Want an evil Spottedleaf AU? Tiger manages to convince her to join his side and we have a fun evil medicine cat. Want a however good Tigerclaw and a fluffier AU? Spotted is what he needs to soften him up just enough to not go feral and try taking over the clans. Want to tear them apart and have it be super tragic and kinda fucked up? Tiger still gets Clawface to kill her because he knows he can't bring himself to do it and knows she's his weak point. Something more canon-compliant? They were had a secret relationship before she died, and he sees her in Tawnypelt (I have a fic based on that idea, I love it. Obsessed with Tawnypelt resembling Spottedleaf by coincidence.) They're super flexible in that you can basically tweak and twist their story in so many different ways depending on how much you adjust the scenarios or their actions.
Make them mushy and sweet! Make them a badass medic/leader villain couple! Make them divorce eachother 3 different times and be bitter exes who throw snark and cold one liners! Make them be a tragic failed love story! Make them somehow make it work? Make them gay toms! Make them lesbians! Make them polyamorous with a cat of your choice! They're so versatile, and I love seeing anything people do with them.
I also like to throw a lot of religious/Starclan related things into the mix personally, because in different ways they both have connections with it in ways a lot of cats don't, and it can be both a good connecting point, and make it have an extra air of tragedy which I play VERY hard into in my False Prophecy AU. LMAO Spoilers for the AU that aren't really spoilers since I've drawn it before, but Tigerclaw doesn't actually commit a lot of his atrocities in that AU (Hence why I don't call him Tigerstar) and still goes to the Dark forest primarily due to literally lying about Starclan's word when they already wanted him dead from the moment he was born and 'corrupting a medicine cat', (And whatever else they could get him on, probably him being a bad mentor or having bad thoughts. They just wanted him in hell.) meanwhile, Spottedleaf, the golden girl of Starclan, despite being the one who ACTUALLY directly lied about their word and broke the code, is given a second chance and let in because 'She only loved too much'. (Because if they're going to say that line for someone like ASHFUR, I can twist it and use it for my AU in a more sinister manner, since Starclan is morally questionable here.) The ending of the AU's story also heavily relies on the afterlives, and though I won't go into it here since that's not what this ask is about and I genuinely do want to write it someday, I think it's a really fun way to twist things for them. It has such a poignant, vivid energy it carries with it, and I don't think it would feel the same with really any other pairing.
They're closer in age than most ships with them seperately, which is super nice, and makes it really fun to imagine them interacting as apprentices and their feelings building from those times into adulthood-
If you want to consider Spottedleaf's Heart, that could actually add to it too, seeing as they were both victims of Thistleclaw, likely even around the same time, and could seek solace in eachother over it- They're the only ones that truly understand, and that could drive them to want to protect eachother from other threats because they know they've been hurt in similar ways and don't want that to happen again.
I tend to imagine Tigerclaw to be a big ass Maine Coon while Spottedleaf is fairly small, and that just adds to it for me, since I think it makes the fluff between them 10 times better. My favorite warriors ship dynamic is when one of them is very, very fluffy and the other can basically just. Sink into their fur like a pillow. Hence why I also like MothCrow. I'm both unpredictable and incredibly predictable.
I also just don't really like a lot of Spottedleaf ships? She's one of my favorite characters, but I don't like basically any of the other pairings I've ever seen for her. Definitely don't like SpottedFire and never did, I see Mousefur as very very aromantic and relate to that, so SpottedMouse is very much not my jam- Anything else tends to be a rarepair or just something I don't really vibe with- She's not shipped with as many people as you'd expect. SpottedTiger was like striking gold for me- (Though Spottedleaf/Runningnose is also a nice one I think about from time to time, and is where I got Snailchaser as a character from LMAO)
Tigerclaw has always stood out to me and registered in my mind as being a romantic in a way too? It's a unique trait for a villain, especially in warriors, so I love emphasizing it, since god knows the Erins don't and won't. I know a lot of people like to joke about him kinda sleeping around or being a womanizer with him having two mates, but I love taking his multiple mates and interpreting it in more of a romantic sense- (And also I headcanon him as Polyamorous, but that's just me) He wasn't a good partner at all in canon, but something about imagining if he was makes him 10 times more compelling to me. He's a romantic! He's a family man! And he's a sadistic wanna-be dictator with the ambition needed to wreak havok and take over Shadowclan! Those traits 100% clash and that's the point. Putting him with Spottedleaf further complicates that by pairing him with a compassionate medic who does not at all share his lust for power. (Or might deep down, who knows! It's up to the writer!) I think it'd be fun to see internal battles and how the actual good traits he has fuck with his plans.
Though, if you know me at all, I'm also just really weird and love rarepairs and crack ships for Warriors. Hell, I basically made up the MothCrow tag on here by cautiously posting about Mothwing x Crowfeather- Even if my stuff's not completely canon accurate, I write in much more 'what if' scenarios and heavy AU usage. It's more fun and interesting to me to write in a more speculative "I love the version of this character that exists only in my brain" way, and out comes the stuff I make.

Would you agree with the statement that one of reasons it is said that Freezerburn is divorce-coded is because of their clashing personality traits and lifestyles?
Nah, I fully think that the only reason people say that the ship between Yang and Weiss is 'divorce coded' is because a bunch of fans of Blake and Yang got insecure. XD
Lots of relationships and marriages and in fandom, ships, run perfectly fine with a couple of differences in personality, and Yang and Weiss both seem to learn to be less rigid with their own tastes in a way that appeals to them both, learning to compromise ("If I don't get doilies, you don't get fog machines.") And in a perfect world, RT would've leaned into more rebellion and less princess-coding for Weiss while Yang matured into a more cool-headed person, making them even more complimentary to each other.
There's literally no reason why Yang x Weiss would be considered 'divorce coded' more than any other main rwby ship. And in fact, they're one of the only main rwby ships that are shown to be able to have fun together and talk things through and challenge each other in a healthy way. These are things most of the canon ships in rwby lack, so I'd say if any ships are 'divorce coded' it's them.
Plus, you know, ships like Ozwick, Torchwitch, and Ironqrow which actually feel like people who were in a relationship once upon a time but now are fighting. XD

i'll just call myself the avoidance anon (lol) and yes, we're doing much better, thank you! I'm happy to say that, as a big FU to my (ex) dad, I am now earning three times his salary. haha
anyways, on the subject of kids, I have this scenario where my PC have always wanted to have a child (totally not me btw) but obviously that didn't happen bc of the cheating and divorce. in a game I played recently, the MC's mother had artifical insemination to have a baby. so what if our PC did that too (we better be making big bucks as a marriage councellor or i'll sue) a year or two after the divorce.
I hc my PC as someone who overworks to cope (if I can't see you, you can't see me) and kinda just... forgets to take care of themselves at some point. while spending a day-off on their favorite cafe, they happen to see a happy family walk by and after almost a week of thinking, they're on their way to get an IUI. a few months later, its confirmed that they're pregnant and affectionately call the bundle of joy, 'my miracle'. ('I lost myself but I found you, my tiny miracle')
on the night of the accident, PC asked the sweet old couple next door to babysit bc they're working late aaand... there goes the plot. at some point after the accident, the ex-spouse somehow meets the child and is curious about the father and (possibly) gets even more heartbroken realizing PC most likely went through a pregnancy alone; the morning sickness, pregnancy cravings, and the heightened emotions on top of the soreness.
ex-spouse: 'oh, what are you drawing?'
(c/n): 'ms. penny said to draw my family. this is me; I'm a prince/princess.'
ex-spouse: "oh, is this your mommy and daddy, then?"
(c/n): 'no, mommy is the fairy godmother. that's daddy and his princess.'
ex-spouse: 'your daddy and... his princess?'
(c/n): 'mmh! mommy said my real daddy left to look for his true love, and that they lived happily ever after.'
(the skit is purely for emotional damage LOLOLOL)
ex-spouse is left to be a silent observer as he watches PC put the child to sleep by singing them a lullaby (think 'never grow up' by ts) and watch them be the mother they always wanted to be, except, the spot next to them was empty (different from his imagination) and the warm, loving gaze PC used to give him was now directed at someone else.
for extra angst, i'd like to imagine the ex-spouse's parents being aware that PC had a baby and sends birthday and holiday gifts for the little one. they were even there for the baby's birth. when the ex later called his parents to ask why they didn't say anything to him about the baby, they simply said 'it was none of his business'. of course, the parents would notice PC overworking themselves, but months later, they saw small, positive change with the PC, and when they opened up they were, in fact, pregnant, they didn't want their kid to ruin the happiness PC found (again)
at this point, it just became a mini-au of an au. I'M JSUT SO EXCITED FOR THIS IF JSJAKPQXNWO
hi again! aw that makes me really happy to hear and YESSS CONGRATS TO YOU!!!
uhm...this skit😭😭 emotional damage achieved anon😭 also i love never grow up!! well this story broke my heart WHYY. reading this makes me so glad i didnt add any kids into this horrible mix LOL. and by the end of the book itll just be up in the air what happens with MC and their partner, so you guys can just create whatever scenarios you want haha
and thank you for the excitment!!💗 sorry its taking so long, coding is such a drag (im really slow haha) but it hopefully shouldnt be too long anymore!!

[Mkay yaoi anon again I just copy and pasted a rant I sent to my girlfriend a couple days ago, hope you don't mind]
Salt and Jay's dynamic is so interesting cuz, they're divorced and yet they've never been married. Jay's a lunar eclipse and salt is a solar eclipse, feel? They can never align. Bcuz Jay's the type of aroace that doesn't care too much about shipping, doesn't have super strong opinions and doesn't really ship anyone too strongly, and salt is absolutely insane about a plethora of ships. Both for just one character, though, that's the thing; they've both got their blorbos, they're both well known to the fans of those blorbos, and their interests don't perfectly line up, neither will the relationship. They agree on many things, and salt is more solar coded so they feel more strongly about things, and jay will agree with them. Always agree, always laugh.. The red string of fate will get lightly tugged in both directions, but they'll never be face-to-face with each other, y'know? Never upfront about what they really feel. Which is why the constant divorce I think; if you're never gonna address the problems the only way to do it is through jokes, through anger through jokes. Never straight about what they really feel, never straight about anything. They're both incredibly queer, but they will never be queer.. for each other.. and they don't want to be either... It's a relationship fueled by laughs, but really it's hatred. But when you're the only two nosy neighbors fans in the universe you gotta look out for each other y'know? You gotta stick up for one another, like it or not. And that's why they'll never leave. And because they're genuinely friends too but that's an entirely different layer I'm not going into the friendship rn
[Yeah I think it's funny when you guys fight on my feed so I take notes. Sorry if this makes you uncomfortable whatsoever lol is all fun and jokes shits and giggles shits and giggles. Also, when I said "the fear", that was about how I'm absolutely terrified of you]
THISBIS AMAZING I LOCE THIS SO MUCH OMG

Hunter and Amity are roommates
ok hear me out:
Luz and Willow go to Wild Magic U, Gus is studying abroad (the human realm) and Hunter and Amity choose to do independent study
So while Luz and Willow are all giddy about being dormmates, Amity and Hunter decide they can be independent together too, which leads to them getting an apartment together
Luz and Willow thought they were gonna be perfect dormmates
until Willow gets up at dawn to do yoga
and Luz is up till 2am reading fanfic everynight
Luz's side of their room is chaos
there's the school work pile, the clothes pile, the empty ramen cups pile
the lack of organization is driving Willow-color-codes-her-socks-Park up a wall
seeing as even they are having trouble co-existing, they figure Amity and Hunter, who bicker like an old divorced couple on the regular are going to kill each other
it's safe to say that when Luz and Willow have lunch with their partners/friends they're expecting to be informed of a homocide
they're not expecting the Blight/Darius's-last-name household to be running like a smooth oiled machine
Luz: so uh- how are you guys adjusting to living together?
Amity: Hunter's actually a great roommate
Luz and Willow: Really?
Hunter: sweetie- why do you sound surprised
Willow: I- I'm not! I promise
Luz: I am
Amity: I'm serious! Hunter is much easier to live with than my siblings
Willow: Amity, that's not a competition

Hi I was the anon the asked about parallels. If you didn’t get that ask just forget about I wanted to add a question about how do separate fictional relationships romantic or otherwise with real life ones. I’m asking how to take your fandom glasses off( for lack of a better term?
I know this is probably obvious but it’s healthy to outgrow a show right and realize it was holding you back
Re: this ask a little while ago
Well, fanon/canon romantic relationships vs real ones are very different things (I am assuming that some of those are like, celebrity based, but that is an assumption so it may not make all my advice/thoughts accordingly accurate to what you're looking for, depending on your circumstances).
Characters in a story do not have legitimate agency, as they are not real. They cannot decide to have feelings for another character, nor can they decide to be with them. The writer(s) or fans must realize the potential and, by virtue of being real while the characters are not, can engage with said potential in a variety of ways. This is especially true when it comes to ascribing/projecting versus recognizing our experiences in characters. For example, I very much read and interpret Rayllum as an aspec dynamic (Callum as demiromantic, Rayla as demisexual) and Ezran (among various other characters in TDP) as Autistic as an aspec and Autistic person, but those are ultimately headcanons. At most I might argue there's coding, whether intentionally on behalf of the creative team or not, not is anyone else Wrong for not headcanoning those characters the same way. They're not real, and the wellbeing of real people always takes priority over the wellbeing of fictional characters.
Secondly, there's a wide range of shipping and what it means out there. This is because shipping doesn't always mean "these two characters live happily ever after with babies" (or even if that is the end goal, is not where the root of interest lies). I have characters I ship as in "they didn't even really date and are now longstanding divorced from one another" (Viren/Harrow), "this would never be canon but I like it anyway, and possibly ship either or both halves with other characters in canon anyway" (Terry/Corvus), or "I only ship this 10-15+ years later when they're in very different stages of their lives" (aged up Soren/Opeli or Claudia/Ezran, for example).
This also means learning to read shipping signs even if 1) the ship isn't your cup of tea and 2) how to recognize a lack of shipping signs even if the ship is your cup of tea. Just because I like a ship doesn't mean I think it is, or should be, canon, and just because a ship doesn't work for me as much personally doesn't mean it's 1) a bad ship or 2) isn't happening.
Now, in real life, most of us don't necessarily choose who we develop feelings for (although I know that can vary for people who are on the aromantic spectrum sometimes, myself included) but like
In a fic, or a book, or a show, often times we are privy to characters' direct thought processes. We'll see scenes where they are alone or not with each other. This allows us often to get a very personalized peek inside their head, to really definitively know what they're thinking (and why).
There is no real world equivalent to that; all we have is taking people at their word or at their writing, and trusting that they mean what they say. And maybe we trust that because of consistency, or time frame, or said words being supported by actions, but it is trust. It takes a long, long time for trust to turn into knowledge, in relationships.
A good example of keeping heads screwed on straight (ironically for a queer couple) might be me and my partner. We're both big Rayllum fans and ended up seeing a lot of ourselves in them as people and as a couple. I relate most heavily to Callum but Rayla is my favourite; they relate most heavily to Rayla and Callum is their favourite. And while the similarities are sometimes useful and often times funny, we are decidedly not Rayllum and they are decidedly not us.
More than out growing a show, I think (although that can happen too) it might be more useful to frame it as outgrowing a mindset. If we make any given thing - particularly fictional concepts we do not own and thereby don't have any ultimate control over, and that going a certain way - or anything, really, too much a part of our self-perception/identity, we will undoubtedly have a very hard time if/when those things don't go our way, and inevitably at least one of them. Self hood needs to be grounded in meaningful relationships with art, hobbies, trusted people, and selfhood. Ships and shows can be reflections of that, but probably shouldn't be much more - and never taken that personally

Always interesting to see somebody who doesn't really ship the reds to be honest. I don't not ship them but I've always found them to be by far the least interesting out of the color code ships, which sucks especially since so many of the bigger fics tend to mainly focus on them and leave the blues and greens as secondary relationships. I've always adored the greens (especially when they're mentally fucked up) for their chaotic, emotional, loyal, and devastating depictions. I've always adored how sweet the blues are and how emotionally intense they can be (although I do wish we got more angst from them), by far the most ignored of the color codes tragically. The reds don't really give me much, I don't find much of their depictions to be interesting and a lot of them to be outright abusive. There are a few red fics that i do absolutely eat up when they're portrayed as complex, tragic and devastating (hey I think there's a theme developing here regarding what I like to see out of ship fic lol... I love me some heartbreaking puff/ruff content let me see those boys and girls lose it) but more often than not they're just shown as like, annoyingly argumentative with Brick having the emotional range of a... dare I say it... brick.
I don't really ship outside of color code because I'm a bastard who's stuck in my ways who never multiships in fandom unless I headcanon characters as polyam (and also I'm even less interested in other ships involving them outside of Blossom/Princess which I think can be fascinating.) But yeah, Reds are the most boring and it sucks that they're usually the center of fics.
I’m a rarity!
I’ve hashed out why i don’t ship them in a lot of my previous asks so I won’t bore people with it again lol, but they all echo what you say. I can’t say I’ve read a lot of remarkable red fics, but there was this one I read a long time ago (sorry I can’t remember the title anymore) where Brick caught Blossom sneaking into his room and stealing his hat (she was dared), they make eye contact, and then she gets away. And there’s always been something about that particular scene that stuck with me—not so much the romance of it, but more of how that *moment*, where they realize “oh, they’re a person just like me,” would go between them. and in my head, what happens afterwards is never romantic. They just find some solace/understanding with each other.
Like enemies to divorced couple that are still friends
I’ve got big opinions on the blues and greens too. They can’t escape my judgment. Like, personally, I dont like the blues if they’re sweet and the greens if they’re casually abusive (for lack of a better phrase) lmao. It just doesn’t do their characters justice!
At the end of the day, though, the heart wants what the heart wants, so if the reds are what do it for ya then who am I to judge!

For the LITG ask game: 22, 24, 25, 38, 48
Thanks Chantelle! These are fun ones!
22. Are there any non-canon couples you think should have been canon?
Answered here
24. Pick 3 end-game canon couples and tell us how long you think they lasted after the show
Hope/Noah - I think they tried to make it work for a couple months before finally calling it. They both clung on too long to the idea of their couple when in reality it was doomed from the start.
Lottie/Gary - a few weeks. Gary took her to meet his nan and they didn't get along, but Nan is the most important woman in his life. Plus Lottie eventually realized that he's just like all the other lads she's dumped in the past.
Reese/Erikah - they got married about a year after the show and divorced within 6 months. Reese then went on to marry Lucy.
25. What is your most controversial/unpopular LITG opinion?
I've said a few times before that I think Bobby was right to pick Hope over Priya at the dumping, but I'm not sure how controversial that really is (probably depends which social media platform you're on).
My other unpopular opinion would be that Arjun is the best CA boy and most people are just put off by the mustache so then they don't want him and he comes off as pushy. He's no pushier than any of the other boys, they're all coded the same way. The only difference is that he's always interested in MC whereas some of the others aren't.
38. Do you have any opinions (on the story or characters) that have drastically changed since you started playing?
Ooh, I've had lots of opinions change, although maybe not to drastic extremes. I disliked Chelsea from the start, then liked her, now I'm back to disliking her. I'm just kind of over her whole shtick and her faults are glaringly obvious.
Similarly, I liked Hope, got swayed by the fandom and disliked her, now I'm on her side again (although not as vehemently as some people are because she definitely puts Noah and MC through a lot of shit and it's fair to criticize her for that).
48. If you could pick any 2 characters from different seasons and swap them into each other’s seasons, who would you pick? Why?
Hmm I think I'd switch Miles and Rocco. I'd absolutely love to see Allegra eat Rocco alive, and I'd like Miles to be given more of a chance rather than either being dumped on day 1 or being stuck with Allegra. Plus I'd like to be given more of a shot at romancing him instead of whatever that was in S1.
