Someone from Mayfair Witches is in IWTV S2 and Mayfair S2

Ben Daniels sent a thank-you letter to Rollin Jones re: working with such a beautiful cast and lovely project (and called himself Santi-baby in it). Jacob did his best Ben impression and read the email aloud to us.

The two actors Rolin KNEW they wanted from the beginning were Eric and Ben Daniels, before they even started casting

Jacob refused to pit Loumand and Loustat against each other. Said they have different vibes

Sam insists that we won't see "the real Lestat" until S3. We're only seeing everyone else's perception of him (very tongue-in-cheek). In response, Assad said, "Armand has a very good memory. Maybe the most accurate!"

Jacob said filming the Dreamstat scenes with Sam was like slipping on a glove, or an old sock (cue slightly inappropriate giggles from audience)

Delainey said her chemistry read with Jacob felt like everyone else in the room just faded away, and she bonded with him first on set

Lestat plays Harlequin instead of Lelio this season, and the moderator was so affected by Sam's performance that he said "I got pregnant after watching it." Rollin said it was "moves like Jagger" on that theater stage lol. Sam had trouble reconciling this part but he did have fun

Any time Jacob gets complimented, he tries to brush it off. He's so humble!

Delainey said Claudia knows Louis better than he knows himself, and Jacob* thinks he knows her but he doesn't

Eric said that Daniel's impression of Dubai situation is he's just sick of the lies and games from Loumand. He won't be intimidated, and if you push, he pushes back harder. He will not be bullied (much like himself, he added)

Lots of hype for ep5 of this season. Eric said it was the most traumatizing episode he's seen in his life. Everyone else agrees that it gets pretty heavy re: young Daniel's interview

Eric said "working with Jacob is like flying" and Jacob said "the feeling is entirely mutual" - so sweet!

Assad was so preciously nervous bc he admittedly still gets intimidated by the cast. He was struggling to finish his thoughts. He did praise how open and loving the whole cast and crew are. It was cute.

"When Louis meets Armand, Armand is kind of lost but putting on this facade of power that Louis sees through" (Assad's words)

Question: any fun moments off set that still make you laugh? Response: Sam and Jacob look at each other and just burst into laughter. They really struggled to find an answer that they felt was appropriate to share and barely answered it 😅

A/N: Hello beautiful people, I hope you’ll like this part. I kinda feel doubt writing this… I wanted to show as much of Kaz’s vulnerable side. Which was ultimately is Y/N… I kinda mess up with the storyline of the canon but who cares? We are doing what we want. It’s a fanfic! I ended things openly so maybe I’ll write a third part but I don’t think so here is the final part of Just A Healer fiction.

It all happened too fast, so quick.

One thing you knew was how ugly Pekka’s face at the moonlight the next thing you knew was the pain behind your back.

Suddenly, the loss of vision and consciousness was just beginning of something disgusting.

It all happened too fast, Y/N.

Slowly, when your eyes opened, you looked around. Your vision was still blurry at first but after few seconds your eyes adjusted to the light.

The place surrounded in a dim light whereas it was cold and concentrated. But where were you? You thought to yourself. The place looked like it was a dungeon and the window was barely just there. It was so small that you couldn’t see outside that much.

You closed your eyes for a moment. Trying to memorize every detail about why you were here and what happened.

“Shit.” You cursed bitterly. Pekka found you were a Grisha and wanted to hurt Kaz so you were kidnapped and yet the worst part is… Pekka Rollins isn’t going to be the one who kills you, it will be Kirigan. That son of a bitch. You thought.

You touched to your neck and healed the wound. Well, it was a benefit for you to be a healer, you could heal yourself quickly. You got up after the dizziness was over. You looked around and there wasn’t any useful for you to protect yourself from. There were only straws on the ground.

You sighed and the looming feeling hit you again. Just like before. What if Kaz wouldn’t find you? What if he thinks you betrayed him too?

But he was a clever man, he would investigate this. Your thoughts went on and on again. Not before you got cut by Kirigan’s shadow… As the thought crossed your mind, you heard a sound. Footsteps.

Suddenly the door opened and you saw Pekka’s guys. You could handle the two of them in a combat fight but there were coming three more.

One of the guy smirked devilishly to you. “Don’t be naughty, you witch.” He said harshly. You wanted to punch his nose but you were outnumbered. Quickly that guy handcuffed you and put a chain on your handcuff. He was leading you forcefully to walk behind him.

As you unfortunately, forcefully walked behind him, you looked around. Observing the place and the Dime Lions. It was cruel, walking straight to your death.

But you had to put your shit together. You weren’t going to give up so easily. You will gonna escape that place, you just needed the right moment.

As you went outside through the doors, you looked at the Harbor. Either you were going to face Kirigan or he was coming for you.

As you saw six guy in the corner of the deck, you then looked at the three guy on the ship. Well, it wasn’t going to be easy. Hell, when things were easy?

You closed your eyes for a moment. Walk through the fire, Y/N. You thought to yourself, trying to encourage yourself to make everything better, you opened your eyes and looked at the sky.

Maybe he was worried?

Three hours passed, you were supposed to meet Kaz in his office. Well, he wanted to debrief you about the upcoming plan he was working on. He had already told Inej and Jesper but he wanted to talk to you about it alone.

Well, your presence calmed him. He wasn’t much of a man shows himself but around you, at least his thoughts were stable and he can feel himself relax a bit. Not only you were just a healer, but his healer too.

Of course, he thinks you are more than just a healer. Because you were gracious. Everything he wasn’t be and deeply inside, he admired it. The pasts of himself, his crows wasn’t bright.

If it were bright then none of you wouldn’t be in the Barrel.

You were a precious asset for the team and Kaz, well, he felt more than that but he was just too scared to admit it. How could he?

Feelings are just a burden. Caring only makes you weak and Kaz couldn’t be weak.

He is feared, the Dirtyhands. Bastard of the Barrel. The trick is the not love anything else. He always thought it. Whenever doing some paperwork or looking at building map’s, sometimes you crossed into his mind. Recently, the severe times of you crossing into his mind just rises and he felt, he felt uncomfortable but weirdly good.

So, three hours passed… where were you? Kaz. thought to himself. He got up from his chair and walked out from the door to heard the loud noise coming from the tables. He looked at the bar-side and no trace of you.

Then he saw Inej, the Wraith, entering to the Crow Club with worrying glances. Their eyes met briefly and Inej straightly walked to Kaz’s side.

Kaz felt uneasy but he didn’t show it. He just stood there monotony. “Kaz, we need to talk.” Inej said with a hurry. She looked really worried.

Kaz led her to his office and once the door’s closed, he turned to her and waited for her to speak.

“It’s about Y/N.”

Kaz never felt this fear before. The way his heart beaten so fast, it was cruel. It wasn’t fair. He looked at Inej as his eyebrows furrowed. “What happened?” He said curiously not showing Inej how he is feeling inside, that anxious feeling grows bigger every passing second.

“I was wandering around the Barrel, and catching up with some informations.” She paused to catch a breath. “There are rumors about a Grisha in the Barrel. A Healer.” She stared at Kaz for a moment. “Turns out Pekka Rollins, caught the Grisha and he is going to send the Grisha back to the Ravka. Through the Fold.”

Kaz closed his eyes for a moment. He needed it. Suppressing what Inej said was a hard truth. “It is Y/N. Pekka Rollins caught Y/N.” Inej said it with a pure worry. Her eyes flashed so wide and she feared of losing her dear friend.

Kaz’s whole life stopped at that minute. The man, who took his brother from him, is going to took his healer from him too. He couldn’t.

Kaz couldn’t let that happen. He waited to take his brother’s revenge. He couldn’t lose Y/N. He couldn’t.

He looked at Inej with anger range filling his eyes. “Find out where Pekka hides Y/N, if he’s going to send her to Ravka, they will be on the Harbor. So it must be close to that place.”

Inej nodded and walked hurriedly towards the door then she looked back at Kaz. “What are you gonna do?” She said softly. “I’m gonna make him suffer.” He replied coldly.

After Kaz came up with a plan, it wasn’t going to be easy but they had to save Y/N. So that’s what mattered. He tried to calm himself, he had to get his things together for your sake. But Kaz wanted revenge. He wanted blood.

As they pulled you over harshly and forced you to enter the ship, they threw you to the basement of the ship. As you whined in pain, you blinked rapidly and looked around. After you were pushed, you felt dizzy but you closed your eyes and pulled yourself together. You gotta do something.

There must be a way to get rid of these handcuffs, you thought. You got up and looked around. There were stocks of some oranges, cucumbers and other conserves.

After quietly searching the basement, you saw a dagger. It was placed closer to the fruits. You took it and tried to open the handcuff with it. It was hard, since you were handcuffed and trying to hold the dagger while working hard for opening the handcuff, you sweared.

Being a soldier and being one of Kaz’s crows helped you learn new skills. You were talented, strong. You weren’t weak. Most Grisha’s in Ravka prejudiced healers. They thought they were weak whilst they had several powerful gifts. But you never saw your gift as a weakness. It was your biggest strength.

After putting a work on it, you unlocked the cuffs and brushed your palms lightly. You took the dagger and closed your eyes for a moment. Your heart raced so fast, you had to collect your thoughts.

You opened your eyes and walked slowly to the stairs. As you slowly opened the cover, you heard footsteps, so you closed it back and pulled yourself back. Then you heard a man’s voice. The guy was laughing and the next minute, he opened the basement’s door. He looked at you on top of it and smiled at you cockily.

Of course you sat back before he opened the cover, you acted like you were cuffed. He then slowly walked down the stairs and closed the cover. “Look at you, witch.” He smiled. “When I’m finished with you, you are gonna regret why you just didn’t kill yourself.” He smirked disgustingly and placed his hand on your chin harshly. He then, licked your cheek. You felt disgusted and you squeezed your eyes shut. “Oi, the thing’s I’m gonna do to you…” He whispered to your ear.

You slowly pulled the dagger and while he was kissing your neck, you stabbed him on his chest. Then he whined in pain and looked at you with shock. “When I’m finished with you, you’re going to regret why you, just didn’t kill yourself, you fucking bastard.” You whispered with anger. Then by the time he was about the react your words you broke his neck.

You got up and took a deep breath. There was eight of them left. You stayed still for a moment. It was all happening too fast, your mind was spinning and you just felt the fear mixed with disgust so badly.

Then as you hurriedly walked to the upstairs, you opened the cover but you heard a muffled sound. Something was odd. You slowly lifted your head and looked around.

As the Crows located where Y/N is, they went on their way, Inej was on the roofs, as ready as she’ll be, Jesper was very furious when he learned your kidnapping. Jesper and Kaz went to the Harbor and while they were hiding behind some of building, they saw you with handcuffs, as they forced you to walk to inside of the ship.

Kaz looked at the rooftop and tilted his head. Inej understood that the plan was on. The Wraith, as she landed on the ground, she hid so perfectly behind the shadows. Well, she was tiny but very strong. She hid behind some of cargo sacks. There was two man standing close to her, so Inej moved behind them silently and slit their throats ever so flawlessly.

There were three guys on the ship, while two of them were standing on the deck. One of the guy on the ship walked to the basement while there was two of them stayed present on the ship. As they were controlling the area.

It was Jesper’s turn. Now it was time to expose themselves. Jesper walked arrogantly on the ground. He looked at the two man. “It’s restricted area! Go away,” One of the guy, whose were standing on the deck warned Jesper as he was walking closer to them. “But would that be fun? Seriously?” He then hit the guy’s face with his gun.

As the other guy reacted to Jesper by pulling his own gun, Jesper grinned and fired his gun. “Never dare to held your gun to me again!” He lashed out and looked at the two guy on the ship. They were trying to hit Jesper with their guns but Jesper’s reactions was too fast.

Then he pulled his own pistol and as he is being the Sharpshooter, he never misses.

After Jesper’s killing the other two guy, Kaz walked to the deck and got on the board. As the basement’s door opened and revealed you to his eyes, your eyes met and he felt his heart skipped a beat. “Kaz?” You said surprisedly. He didn’t understand why you got surprised about seeing him.

You quickly pulled yourself and walked to his way. As you looked around, you saw the other men of Pekka’s bodies around the ship and the deck. “You came for me.” You looked at Kaz and felt tears brimmed in your eyes.

He furrowed his eyebrows. As he was about to say something, Jesper pulled you in a tight hug. Was he crying, what? You thought. “Jess, are you crying?” You smiled with tears. “You bloody idiot! Of course I am!” He pulled you closer to himself, suddenly you were out of breath. “Jesper! You are squeezing me-“

He let you go softly. “I’m sorry, Y/N. It’s just you know…” You smiled and squeezed his hand. While Kaz backed away, Inej hugged you softly. You could see the tears in Inej’s eyes. Which ached your heart.

“We have to go, there would be a mess.” As Kaz said, you and Inej let go of each other. You looked at Kaz. “What?” You asked. Kaz looked at you briefly. “This is just one thing, Pekka Rollins wouldn’t know what hit him.” He said with harsh tone.

“Kaz, what did you do?” You asked worriedly. He looked at you bitterly. “Something I should’ve done before.”

He didn’t reply anything further as all of you went back to the Slat. Well, while you were on the way back to the Slat, you watched Kaz. All of the way back… You just feel this thing inside you, where you couldn’t just pretend things anymore.

When you went back to the Slat, you heard a loud explosion coming from the streets. “What is happening?” You said it confusedly. Jesper glanced at you softly. “We are gonna be in a big fight, Y/N.” You looked at him as your eyebrows furrowed. “What?” You didn’t understand. “The boss, well, he just blew up The Dime Lions.” Jesper looked at you amusedly. You were in a utter shock as you heard what Jesper said.

And there was a boyish looking guy appeared as he was walking out on Kaz’s office. “Who is that?” You asked as you showed the boy who walked out on Kaz’s office. Jesper amusedly grinned. “He is the one who blew up the places.” You looked at Jesper with wide eyes. “Bloody hell..” You said.

After you left Jesper’s side, you walked hurriedly towards to Kaz’s office. You knocked the door and after a moment you opened it and saw Kaz was looking to the sky. “Can I come in?” You said softly.

He then turned to you and gestured you to step inside. “Kaz.. Did you blew up Pekka’s properties?” You looked at him worriedly which he was finding it uneasy. He was fighting himself everyday trying to keep you in a distance but after today, he just wanted everyone who wronged him, pay.

“I did.” You looked at him in a shock as he said it. For a second he refused to meet your gaze. You didn’t know what to say to him. You weren’t expecting him to save you up in the first place but he did. You approached slowly to his side. Careful to not bother him.

“Thank you, Kaz.” You were feeling this thing in your chest, whenever you see him, your heart beats faster. He was just so distant but after tonight, hearing what he did… maybe he cared for you.

“You are welcome.” He said quietly while he looked at you in a different way. But all you were wondering why he did all of this. You needed a clarification, an answer. What he did was a huge thing. “Why?” You said, nearly a whisper. He raised an eyebrow at your question. He knew what you were asking, he was just choose to ignore it.

But you insisted. “Kaz- Why did you did all of this? It’s a declaration of a war.” You were trying to reason with him. The question you wanted to really ask was hanging dry in your throat. He was watching the skyline of Ketterdam, there were noises. After the explosion, siren sounds and other’s faded in distance as you went on. “Why did you save me?”

The question you asked triggered something him in inside. He closed your eyes for a moment as he tried to collect his thoughts. “You are one of us.” He said straightly. “Crows are loyal to their fellows. One of them in the pack gets hurt, they will protect them.” You looked at him. Your eyebrows furrowed.

“While I was in that dungeon, the thoughts were going on and on in my mind…” You admitted softly. “I thought lot of things, primarily how to escape this place but something happened… and I thought-“ You paused. His eyes were on you at the whole time you were speaking. He was observing every little detail about you. Every little mimic, expression. His heart crushed when he saw tears in your eyes.

“I thought maybe, uh, you would think I betrayed you.” He looked at you with a furrowed expression. You didn’t look at him so you explained further. “You know, I betrayed my own country. I ran away from the King’s orders. I know you don’t trust me and I felt maybe you thought that way too after my disappearance.” You said it without catching a breath.

You were too scared to meet his gaze. “No.” It was hard for Kaz to open up his feelings. He had just shown the world that he cared for his crow. Which was a weak sign for the others. But he could’ve manage it. He could’ve make them suffer. Because he was feared. He declared a war against Pekka. But the way you said these things pissed Kaz.

Well he didn’t trust you for a long time. Of course, Kaz is a careful man. Man of mind and he is too cautious when he takes a move. But after seeing what you do, helping his crows and proving your loyalty at every time. of course Kaz trusted you.

“Y/N,” Kaz whispered. His voice sounded crispy. “I do trust you, more than you know.” You looked at him as a tear slipped away to your cheek. “I cannot offer you more but, never forget that you are valuable to the team…” He paused, struggling inside. Because once he admits to you, it would change everything.

“Valuable to me…” You smiled softly. You wouldn’t push him for anything. “Thank you, Kaz.” You said it again. “If we go to a war, we’ll go… I’ll always be there for you.” You said surely. What you were feeling Kaz was more than just companionship, you loved being near to him. It doesn’t matter how twisted he is and well, you loved him.

It was all you needed to hear. So you stepped away and approached to the door side. He turned and watched you to walk away. For once, don’t disappear. He thought. He looked at his gloves and closed his eyes momentarily. “Stay,” He said briefly. It sounded like a muffled sound but you heard anyway. You paused at your step and didn’t dare to look at his way.

“Stay here.” He said and then you turned to him. When you met his gaze, you felt the warmth inside your body. Who knew, in Kaz’s coldness, there was warmth.

One of the funniest things ever is when people use names from other languages that I guess have a certain sound to them in their own language, but it's not the same in the original language.

To give an example: there's a villain in the Six of Crows whose name is Pekka Rollins. I don't know if Leigh Bardugo thinks that 'Pekka' with the hard sounds sounds threatening or what is going on, but. Pekka is like one of the most basic-ass Finnish names there is. It's one of those names that you use if you're telling a joke or something because it's so common. Pekka walked into a bar-type of joke. Combined with the surname Rollins, he sounds like some sort of 50-year-old rock musician.

Another example, not quite the same but similar: in His Dark Materials, there is an ancient witch Queen whose name is Serafina Pekkala. I think the author said that he just kinda opened a Finnish phone book once and just randomly picked a name. Again, Pekkala is one of those basic-ass surnames, literally meaning "a place of Pekka", formed from the fact that Finns didn't have surnames for the longest time (the law that definitely said that all Finns need to have a surname was made in 1986), and was made by going "oh, this farm was built by great-grandfather Pekka, and now people around here call it Pekkala. People who live there are also called Pekkala now". Doesn't really evoke the feeling of an ancient witch Queen who lives in deep in the old forests in the North, does it now?

In this case it's kinda a harmless disconnect, where the name that is used has such different connotations to how it sounds to the person who is plucking the name out of the culture that surrounds it, and I get to laugh every single time it happens.

Also why is it always Pekka? :D

honestly I really hated that they made helnik a lot more sexual in the show, with the implied sex and Pekka Rollins telling Matthias in Hellgate that it's impossible he was never tempted by anything, something about "what's between a lovers' legs"

like it makes it seem that Matthias was initially only physically attracted to Nina when it was her way of speaking, self-confidence and compassion (for saving him) that made him fall for her :/ her showing these human traits made him finally "see" Grisha as humans, not witches

Six of Crows // TUA

Number One

Character: Matthias

Reasoning: This one is the easiest to determine and makes sense from both a power point of view and story-arc point of view. Matthias is a natural born leader, and sees himself as someone who needs to keep the rest of the crows in line and act as a sort of moral compass. This reflects well with the position of Number One, as the leader of the group and a somewhat self-righteous character in the beginning.

Number Two

Character: Inej

Reasoning: Although it would make sense for Jesper to be Number Two due to the metal/trajectory manipulation, Diego’s character better fits Inej in my mind. She would definitely hold a grudge against Sir Reginald Hargreeves for taking them away from their parents and for not protecting them when they were kids. She also would fit the vigilante role well, due to her pirating arc at the end of Crooked Kingdom.

Number Three

Character: Nina

Reasoning: It was a toss-up between Number Four and Number Three for Nina, due to her powers as a corpse witch, but I feel that she would fit better as Number Three with the reality manipulation/rumor ability, because of what she was able to do under the effects of Jurda Parem, and the line about her and Jesper seducing all of Ketterdam into submission.

Number Four

Character: Jesper

Reasoning: This decision is mainly based on character arc and personality. Klaus and Jesper are similar levels of chaos, sass, and queerness. As well as the fact that addiction is a big part of both of their arcs. I felt that Number Four was a better fit than he would have been for Number Two.

Number Five

Character: Kaz

Reasoning: I felt that out of all of them, Kaz would embody the 50+ year old man in a 13-year-old’s body arc the best. He and Five just remind me a lot of each other, and view themselves as the leader of their respective groups, whether or not everyone sees it that way. Plus, Kaz, due to his PTSD, is kind of stuck in the past sometimes, and I think that preventing the apocalypse would be a good mirror to his drive for revenge against Pekka Rollins.

Number Six

Character: Jordie

Reasoning: I find this one very, very interesting to explore, and for this reason, I thought about giving Kaz the role of Number Four, but no one else really embodied Number Five like he did. Plus, the idea of Jesper being able to talk to Jordie while Kaz can’t? I want to explore it. But other than the fact that he is dead, I like to think that Jordie would act as a common sense filter for Jesper, and by extension, Kaz, much like Ben does.

Number Seven

Character: Wylan

Reasoning: This was another fairly easy decision for me. The treatment of Number Seven by Sir Reginald Hargreeves is somewhat similar to Wylan’s treatment by his father. The isolation, the constant reminding that they are not special and are nothing compared to everyone else. The fact that Wylan was very much considered an outsider by the Crows for a large portion of Six of Crows. As well as the connection of both Wylan and Number Seven to music.

Was going to elaborate in the concept but it was too much information so only listing the characters (i can elaborate if someone asks)

-Alina Starkova not born in Storybrook.A lonely orphaned illustrator in the real world that finds out she is “The greatest light” (aka Emma’s role) in fantasy land she was a fairy born from a ray of sun,she was sent to the real world by the dark fairy as a baby.Coming to Storybrook she takes the role of getting people back with their loved ones and solving the mystery of the town. She also doubles as red ridding hood

-Zoya Nazyalensky, in Storybrook she is the mayor’s assistant who is looking forward being the next mayor. In fantasy land,she was at first the blue fairy but a terrible deal turned her into the wicked fairy. She remembers the curse and tries to stop Alina from breaking it in fear of becoming the evil fairy again. (Sort of like Regina but way less villainous)

-Mal Oretsev, a barista in Storybrook , gets Henry’s role of being the one to go and find the greatest light. In Storybrook he is the hunter.

-Aleksander Morozov , the sheriff of Storybrook. The wicked witch of the west in fantasy land (flying monkeys as the volkra) also, his dynamic in trying to trick Alina into trusting him gives him traits of the big bad wolf and is also the Dark One (what Rumplestilskin’s role on the show is,even if he is NOT Rumple)

-Baghra Morozova, a senile blind old lady in Storybrook, the dark fairy in fantasy land.

-Genya Safin , a hairdresser in Storybrook that befriends Alina, Snow White in fantasy land

-Nikolai Lanstov, doubles as Captain Hook and The happy prince,he is trapped as a golden statue in Storybrook

-Kaz Brekker,the owner of an antique shop in Storybrook, doubles as The fairy godmother and the “good”witch of the north in fantasy land

-Inej Ghafa, in Storybrook she actually remembers and she is trapped in the asylum. Cruelly nickamed “Cinderella” in fantasyland by her evil adoptive mother , also doubles as the tin (wo)man

-Jesper Fahey, like Inej he is held in the asylum against his will while remembering everything. Was Pinocchio in fantasy land,then the scarecrow in their trip to Oz

-Wylan Van Eck, same situation as the previous two. Was turned into the golden harp in fantasy land,then played as the cowardly lion in their trip to Oz.

-Nina Zenik,once again,same situation as the other three. Plays Alice and then Dorothy in fantasy land

-Matthias Helvar , in fantasy land he was the knave of hearts then cursed to turn into a baby wolf , making him pretty much Toto in the travel to Oz.Not in Storybrook since he died before the curse,his ashes held by Nina Zenik in her cell

-Other villains: Pekka Rollins is a honorable tailor and a gentle parent for his son until night when he gets in criminal business, in Fantasy land he was Rumplestilskin. Jan Van Eck,poses as the town’s major ,he actually remembers the curse,in fairy land he was King midas and then the wizard of Oz. Heleen Van Houten was the evil step (adoptive) mother,not in Storybrook since she was killed before the curse by Inej, Jarl Brum is the town priest,leader of a secret cult, was the king of hearts in fantasy land, he remembers the curse because he made it as a way to get rid of magic.

Plot Summary: Love is found on a Christmas vacation in New York city, when yet another villainous attack rattles it wicked way across it.

Part 1 - ["Best Vacation Ever..?"]:

New York City. Despite the less than livable conditions that litter the streets, regardless of the attempts to hide it with broadway and times square glamor, lying strong deep in the dark of it, NYC has it's suprisingly beautiful upsides. Especially in the winter, as a New York Christmas has been calling your name for too long of a time. So you've finally saved up enough funds, you've finally been given a chance to live out one, of your many, dreams. Ever the optimistic lady, (so much so sometimes it borders delusional, your family members have previously told you,) and constantly having your head in the clouds, nothing else could make you happier than to be able to act upon what you've been told is more likely not to happen.

So that brings you here, to the home base of the famed (,or infamous, depending on who you ask,) avengers to spend your holiday.

Strolling through the busy streets, minding your own. Sounds of screams of terror and a small building crashing break you from your carefully figured route.

Frozen in panic, the next thing you know, you're multiple streets over from your point of origin, at a makeshift med camp. At least one hundred people are there having their wounds tended to, meanwhile you're standing there with a dumb clueless look on your face, as the breeze wrecks your hair.

A tap on your shoulder has you turning round to stare into the clearest blue eyes you have ever seen. Quicksilver. He's one of the new additions the media won't stop fawning over. 'Rightfully so' you recall thinking. 'Even tho I'll probably never actually do it, I'd melt to meet him face to face' Now you're 100% a goner.

Lost in fuzzy memories of the brief interviews of his you couldn't help yourself from watching, currently mentally replaying his lovely accented voice. "It's a pleasure to save such a lovely woman. It's one I don't often fortunately have."

Now lost in his eyes on top on being wrapped up in your swarming cyclone of thoughts, it slips your mind to pay attention to what exactly it is that was coming out of his pretty mouth.

Slowly easing out of his, almost uncanny energetic and buzzing happy demeanor as a realization dawns in his enchanting eyes. Understanding now you're obviously still in shock from his save, he promptly asks your name.

Pulled from your anxious haze by his dreamy voice, you give him what he asked for. Albeit internally embarrassed you missed something else he said. Both your eyes meet and you two miss a paramedic getting the attention of the scarlet witch who just arrived to see why Pietro hadn't yet returned.

She finds out they tried separating you two just before she showed up and that their attempts to get the attention of you both fell flat when Quicksilver insisted on a few minutes more with the lady who they assumed needed medical assistance. In the words of Pietro, as they quoted him, "You have others to attend to, do you not?"

The paramedic was just trying to do their job but couldn't when Quicksilver wouldn't leave your side, as though you were attached at the hip despite just meeting. He wasn't doing anything wrong, really, you were the last civilian in harm's way.

He already evacuated everyone else and the rest of the avengers can take this villain without him. If they could only read his mind like Wanda could, they wouldn't blame him for hovering. He wasn't trying to overwhelm the poor lady but she seemed so shaky and still hadn't talked much.

You only gave him your name. Though he was unsure why he was so invested in the well being of this pretty stranger and couldn't figure exactly how he couldn't move on to something else even half as fast as he normally could, he couldn't bring himself to care about that at the moment.

Wanda understood her brother like no one else and her powers only strengthened their familial bond. Though this could most likely be the start of something more for her brother and the nice young woman, she still needed to let the paramedic examine her. Walking up to you two, she introduced herself as his sister and gently pulled Pietro from your side.

He reluctantly went, though the pep in his step quickly returned and was quite visible as Wanda telepathically told him that he can check on you right after they were done your checkup. 'Thankfully,' Pietro thought, 'you can't see through the paramedic.'

DESERTWALKERS. A FFXIV Weird West AU, started by @scrollsfromarebornrealm with a handy masterpost-type thing here Read my lil' contribution about the goin-on's 'round the town of Stonewood in this setting, just beyond the cut

--- In the Weird Wild West there’s a little town, bustlin’ with folks from just about everywhere. The people who’ve lived here for generations just livin’ their life, miners come to make their fortune, up and comers investigatin’ rumors and and chasin’ ghosts, and the lawman and his people, just tryin’ to look after kith and kin. Life ain’ always easy in Stonewood, but it’s always interestin’.

There’s challenges out in the wild world. Like that fellah named Gaius. A lawman who rules with an armor clad fist, who rode his iron chariot out with the railroads. Not satisfied with his own township, he’s lookin’ to take over others and throwin’ his weight around, hopin’ to make an empire out of findin’ more of that blue ceruleum gold. But he’s a little too eager to grease his rails with blood, rilin’ over the native folk and rollin’ over the common folk. But the Sheriff is a good man, and his town’s an honest one, and he ain’t about to just let the Black Iron Wolf sup on his flock, as the people saddle up to deal with The Man Who Would Rule.

And from up North, we've got some dark rumors about a religious man. Now, folks got their faith, and the people of the town are the sort to let every man sort out their beliefs on their own. Not this preacher man, though. Him and his twelve disciples are making noise and making waves, but that was no problem of Stonewood’s. Not 'til people started goin’ missing. Nobody knew what was what until a Gentlelady Adventurer called Mathye the sawbones and Bylti the witch woman to the saloon with a most curious thing. One of the kidnapping victims, right as rain. ‘Least if you were willing to ignore his ranting about followin’ the one true god on his path to peace. Turns out the preacher man’s making converts… and they don’ get to have much of a say in the matter. Things are about to go badly in this case of Dire Faith.

And then there’s the strangers from the Far East that blew into town, a man named Hien and his two attendants, a samurai named Gosetsu and a woman of the shadows who goes by the name of Yugiri. The locals don’t know what to make of them, but they aren’t here to cause trouble. Rather, they're here to foretell it. They say they’re following the rumors in the wake of a man who fancies himself a hunter of gunslingers, lawmen, and anyone else who he thinks might be a challenge. Who is this tall man, dressed in black with a hunger for blood and the fastest draw in the West? Who knows what’ll happen, or how Stonewood will handle the coming Bloodstorm.

I can't tell you nothin’ for the shadows, that’s a yarn for another mummer.

But I can tell you about the black clouds as they draw over the land. Folks are sayin’ it might be the final ways, and the witches are sowing words of worry and ruin. Anyone who heads out into that blight comes back full of despair, empty of soul and lookin’ to drag everyone down with them. A mournful tune is blowin’ across the land, damning near all who hear it. Do the residents of Stonewood hunker down and hope this blows over, or is it up to this intrepid group to rise up to the occasion once more, and end the time of the Final Song?

Lotta stories just waitin’ to be told, and verses waitin' to be written. Great fortune to be had, legends to forge, but also great big dangers that’ll swallow you whole.

That’s just life in Stonewood.

Sometimes I open my Discord DMs and find the most delightful notes from friends. It was the fantastic and awesome @exhaling-dust who sent me:

This poem at the end of @d2artevents #SolarEmbraceVOL5 was the result.

I'm especially pleased with how the formatting of the last lines turned out. I find the framing with the background image beautiful. Thank you @scribonia-art for making the layout so beautiful and making my plain text submission so lovely.

Sunset

it has been a thousand years and you are still beautiful Three-Eyes

when we first understood that without their ghosts Guardians can and do age just slower than everybody else I was scared so scared

I didn't wanna lose you

but now you are old and your wrinkles have wrinkles

your eye goo gets stuck in 'em and it gives ya cool freaky dark lines in your face

your three Hive eyes have laugh lines laugh lines round your Hive eyes! who'd ever have thought Hive eyes could laugh?

but yours do and they're not evil Savathun laugh lines neither they're kind

you still stare into nothin' talk to ghosts and call me insufferable your voice so rich and warm has a tremor in it now and sometimes it creaks like an old floor

you never used to like to let me carry you but now ya let me wrap you in soft blankets and carry you all over

gonna make us a backpack with holes for yer arms and legs so you can tell me how insufferable I am all the time everywhere we go

your skin all soft and wrinkly your voice all soft and wrinkly too

at sunset I'll climb up to the tallest spot on the tower with you on my back and we can watch the Solstice bonfires lickin' the night sky like bright hungry mouths

we can wave at the Moon that pit you crawled out of that we now call home moon dust still gettin' in everything everywhere all the damn time

we'll eat sticky rice cakes with red bean paste and you'll tell me about that one Solstice where Ikora fell into a slug pit on Venus and you and Asher just sat there drinking wine and laughing at her for the hundredth thousandth time

we'll toast old long dead friends those we lost, those we killed those we watched be killed, powerless to save 'em those we did save, who loved us until the end those who love us still

we'll watch the Guardians all tiny because we're so high up fightin' in the arena to light the bonfire fire higher we'll applaud the ones that win and the ones that don't equally because what matters is not what they do what matters is that they are doin' it

and you my shriveled witch with your soulfire orb and your beads your glowin' eyeballs still sharp so sharp you'll tell me that you love me for the hundredth thousandth time an' I'll say the same right back at ya and the warm Summer air will caress our faces and the stars will twinkle down on us whisperin' my name

an' you'll fall asleep with your head against my chest as I hold you for that very last time when the last rays of the Summer sunset reach out their gold-red fingertips to linger warm an' gentle on my beam of moonlight

18. What scene(s) from either book do you think is rather underrated?

Hardly underrated since it gave rise to this gem but I do love when Wylan puts on a little performance for the Merchant Council at the end of Crooked Kingdom. Even Matthias is impressed!

But an honourable mention has to go to Jesper giving a presentation on Zemini oil futures to Radmakker.

I have so many questions!

What did he wear?

Was Wylan with him, hiding at the back of the room, mouthing words and holding up props to give him hints when he ran out of things to say? ?

Was he sent to university to study petroleum engineering???

Honestly, at this point I think every fic I write is me attaining the skills that will one day allow me to do justice to this insane sounding missing scene.

23. What do you think (insert character) would be like if what had fundamentally changed them into who they are in SOC hadn't happened? i.e. Inej being taken from her family. Kaz being victimized by Pekka Rollins. Jesper and Colm losing Aditi. etc.

If he had not met, loved, hated, then loved Nina again, would he still be a stalwart Druskelle? I think no...

He gave Nina food and water at the same time as calling her a witch, so I think he always had it in him to see the light and be turned. Though it may have taken longer if he had not been exposed to Nina and Jesper and Kuwei and all the other Grisha. He was a good guy 😞 He should have made it. They all should have made it!
