Oz au- realised that with all the plots of vengeance and rage fits and the fact that running a kingdom is the last thing Sonic would ever wanna do, politics, economy, general king stuff probably wouldn’t get done and the kingdom would crash and burn (literally)

So i decided to add Jewel the beetle to the au as his very stressed advisor who’s very good at pressuring him to actually do paperwork

Last month, patrons voted on a theme for me to sketch - they picked "medieval fantasy/ren faire"! Here are a few party members for your adventure. 🔮🎸🛡

Hey since the suit is malleable, what if it has two forms. The infiltration form, which is the blue beetle stuff, and it’s a little odd, yeah, but like, still is approachable enough. Like, softer lines, no spikes, etc.

But imagine, after the invasion starts in force, and they don’t need to pretend to be friendly, or to be subtle, that’s when the bigger, more combat oriented changes happen. Thicker armor, more muscle. Spikes on the outer forearms and back and thighs. Claws on the hands and feet, larger, spiked upper forelimbs, with nastier blades on the tips.

Also, infiltrator form would probably have hella sensors, but combat form might not, and that takes material to take the sensors, as well as processing power to process that data, so combat form would probably trade off sensor acuity for heavier armor?

Maybe just a material issue (amount of material needed), or a thickness issue (sensors need to be on surface or near to collect data, but can only relay information through a certain thickness of armor to the human nerves before signal is lost? Idk.

Being purposefully more spiny and scary looking. Pulling out that armor setting even after the reach invasion for the sake if fighting the really REALLY tough villians but also not really doing it often because of what that REPRESENTS!! AAA!!!

Hmmm I mean Khaji can rearrange molecules without much fuss tbh they might be able to just pull from the surrounding area to make the thicker armor. If you wanted to solve that material issue in a REALLY fucked up way, you could have it pull that material from his bones and muscles, then just replenish them when he's done fighting. ohhhhohoho you are made of the suit and the suit is made of you chucklefuck you are one in every way eeehehehehehehehEHEHEHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAAHAHHAMUUUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!

Magic wands belonging to various magical Toon ocs. Yes, magic is a thing in my lore, but not all Toons have the ability to learn and use magic.

Usually, the ability to use magic or "the savvy" is passed down from generation to generation within a family of toons.

Sometimes the parents teach their children how to control their savvy and learn how to use spells. In some cases, they become apprentices to more learned magicians.

Can Cogs learn to use magic?

No, but it isn't impossible for them to use magic. That's only possible by having a magical toon bestowing temporary magical abilities onto a cog or the cog gets a hold of a magical artifact.

Certain cogs with special abilities (like Misty, Prester, or even Graham) will have their powers amplified with a magic wand on hand.

Cogs can definitely get damaged by magic as a gag.

Since magic can practically do the impossible, a Cog under the effect of magic can have their programming temporarily altered in numerous ways, like having a less Coggy personality, for example. If you're a Cog and you wanted to know what it's like to have Vladimir's personality glitch and to see how he views the world, magic can make that possible.

Speaking of gags, magic can be a decent substitute for toon-up, if you have that ability, that is. As a result, many magic-using toons are toon up less.
