CCR Post 3, Osprey
Osprey, the guy with a super interesting introduction and backstory that was almost immediately killed off afterwards! What a guy! Honestly, I quite like him as a character, especially his relationship with Peril, many opportunities for theories on why he was so nice to her. Didn't just have to be out of pity, y'know?

If you take requests without money, or if I could give you any inspiration to draw, I'd totally request/recommend Osprey OR a very stout and overly confident portrait of Swordtail
Love your work :)

I hope that whenever the wings of fire show comes out the directors will keep Osprey’s disability as him having tail paralysis rather than having no wings.
While the graphic novel didn’t depict Osprey with tail disability (likely to keep from having Clay’s thought push the scene longer than it needed and/or properly showing Osprey with that disability might have been hard for others to pick up on instantly), I feel that having Osprey be paralyzed in the tail would be good example of a character with a harder to see disability (physically) that still stops them from being able to do things that normal people/dragons can do.
Plus, I love Clay’s inner monologue during Osprey’s death and him realizing how vital a dragon’s tail is to flight. That scene in general is one that will probably stick with me forever tbh.
I wonder why it wasn't put in the graphic novel, as I think it would be pretty easy to show his tail dragging on the ground for all of the scenes he was in.

Osprey the Skywing
(Based on ospreys)
[Image ID: A disheveled elderly rusty red bird-like skywing dragon named Osprey. His head is a light red color with a brown stripe that starts at his eye and extends all the way down his neck and leads into his body. The rest of his body follow with having a rusty red color and brown, with the light red as his underbelly. His beak, horns and talons are a dark purple blue color. He is skinny and aged, with a graying beak and eyebrows, and his yellow eyes becoming glazed due to his worsening vision. On his tail he has a bald spot. His bird wings are smaller and look as if though they've been losing feathers. He is sitting hunched over with a solemn expression on his face. /.End ID]

The Spells of Darkstalker
AKA: The slander we all needed.
A magic shield that would kill any Icewing that tried to cross the mountain to their home. How many scared soldiers crossed that shield and fell to the ground, instantly dead? How many of them thought of their loved ones as they raced full speed towards a battle they would never even be able to get to? Years later, travelers passing over the mountains stopped dead in their flight over a petty spell that no one had even known about, dying alone with no way to tell their family what happened.
The dagger that was enchanted to kill one Icewing every full moon. What do the Icewings think? What did they do when their old grandmother who raised them and cared for them, their young child who loved to draw the snow, their cocky soldier with a heart of gold, the kind old soup vendor who wouldn’t leave their stand until everyone was fed, cut, lying dead in the snow with messages about a Darkstalker who will find them and slaughter them? They were faceless monsters to a Dragon with too much power, but they were the ones being tormented by the real monster.
The goblet crafted out of sea glass, a gift to Fathom that he said was to remind him of his home, was a hoax. The true enchantment was to force Fathom to stop caring about one of his closest friends, remove his trauma and vow about using Animus magic, and to make him use it freely again. Fathom’s said friend, who broke it on the suspicion that it might be a trap, was ironically caged in a gift from the very same friend.
The carved wooden statue of Indigo, which trapped the model of it in another gift.  She was forced to not even watch the very person who trapped her in there craft lie after lie to hide the truth of what happened to her. The very same Indigo who was suspicious of him to the start. The very same Indigo who had been seen as an inconvenience by Darkstalker, who he had trapped because he wanted to convince Fathom to use his magic again.
The moon earrings Clearsight had received as a gift, that Darkstalker had swore up and down that he didn’t touch, secretly enchanted to make the love of his life forget all bad visions that came her way. How many people had received her prophecies only to fall to, in her own words, a rose colored dream? How, even after she confronted him about it, had he said it was an honest mistake while he himself fully believed it was?
How had Arctic felt, when his son commited the unspeakable act of taking control of his own body, puppeteering him up the stage, where he was forced to confess his crimes and falsely admit that his son was superior? How had Arctic felt as he died, his own talons ripping him apart, as thousands of horrified Nightwings watched?
Darkstalker scared his tribe so much that all of them left for an island filled with death and decay to avoid another instance of him. All of them. And even in his supposed death he did harm. His scroll let Chameleon and Scarlet toy with the minds of others, forcing them into the roles of Pyrite and Ruby. He had caused Clearsight to flee to another continent, which eventually caused the slavery and near eradication of two tribes.
And one day he returned, ironically enough thanks to a Nightwing and an Icewing.
One of his first acts was to enchant an earring to convince everyone that he was harmless, and took the battered tribe of the Nightwings away from the rainforest to become his personal army. He won them over with magical gifts that only a few days later he would use to make his tribe fight to near death over.
He forces a Sandwing to fly into the den of one of the most dangerous dragons in the kingdoms, enchanted not to stop until he reached Osprey’s stronghold. What was their name? What did they think, when their body stopped becoming their own, as they flew towards their certain death?
He lies to Anemone, who is alone and vulnerable, into being what he wanted Fathom to be for him. Because of him, her ego inflates, and she is harshly punished with the same death sentence that killed his father: obeying his every command.
A plague directed towards a tribe which had not even known about Foeslayer’s imprisonment, just because he was still bitter about that all those years ago. Families falling apart as sick dragons overwhelm hospitals. This spell was designed to wipe them out because of his bitterness and paranoia.
Fierceteeth, a dragon who had been nothing but loyal to him, was forced to transform into a mockery of his long dead love, who he altered and modified to the point where it didn’t even resemble Clearsight, much less Fierceteeth. What happened to her afterwards? Did she return to herself, but tormented by memories of dragons that weren’t even her own. There were more than one attempts at making Clearsight. How many people does Fierceteeth think she is? Is she the Clearsight who didn’t care about her visions? Is she the one who was the real Clearsight? She doesn’t even know anymore.
When he drags all of the animus dragons into his throne room, he tries to kill Turtle on sight, thinking that he is Fathom. When he is revealed to be his own dragon, Darkstalker wonders how he can experiment on them. How many spells it will take of them to snap. However, he does a much more disastrous job on Turtle, ripping away his powers, leaving him a confused husk.
He brings another horrible dragon along with him into the chasm that he was trapped in. Osprey is forced to subject to the same spell that Arctic and Anemone were, just so that Darkstalker can try and convince Qibli to join him. His mind is stripped of his age, convinced that he loves Qibli, and then forced to feel guilt. When Darkstalker leaves, he leaves Osprey behind in the canyon, to starve and sob about a guilt that isn’t his own until the end of his life.
When Darkstalker uses the soul reader he made all those years ago with Fathom to show that his soul was not evil on himself, he screams in rage. Despite all of his flawed reasoning, he cannot lie to his own creation. Not this one.
The first time Darkstalker saw his mother, he thought that it was a trick. That Foeslayer was an enchantment designed to force him into vulnerability. Because that is what he would have done. Once learning that she is real, he is willing to throw away Moon, throw away Fierceteeth’s body acting as Clearsight, because he thinks that his mother will take his side.
And yet it is his own spell scroll that brings him down, his conceited immortality fading as he becomes what he made many people. A puppet to their whims.
