Bc listen, I read a post talking abt how the writers probably won’t give both of them a really flushed out Queer Realization Arc bc it would be redundant, which like, okay sure, yes, I can see why you wouldn’t want to have two main, male characters going through the exact same thing, so sure, whatever, BUT -

I feel like, out of Buddie, Eddie is going to be the one that really struggles with coming to terms with his sexuality.

Eddie, who had to be The Man Of The House at 10 years old. Eddie, who grew up in the Deep South. Eddie, whose family is Catholic. Eddie, who already had a strained relationship with his judgmental parents. Eddie, who had a WIFE. Eddie, who says that what he had with Shannon was magic & compares every relationship he had to her. Eddie, who was in the military, which is infamous for DADT. Eddie, whose aunt constantly pushes him at random women because he needs to not be alone. Eddie, who canonically suffers from comp-het, saying that dating women feels like putting on a performance, not that he understands why. Eddie, who dated Ana & was planning on staying with her, even though he was unhappy, for his son.

I think Buck would be way chiller with realizing he’s queer - if he doesn’t already know, which is my fav head-cannon - & I feel like he wouldn’t struggle as much bc it’s Eddie, & Eddie is his best friend, and gender wouldn’t play as big a part for him as I think it would for Eddie.

I would love for them both to have an arc where they worked through their expectations when it comes to relationships & realize that they’re queer, but idk man, I feel like Eddie is going to be the one to really struggle & he deserves to really have that flushed out.

Idk, I’ve been thinking about this ever since I saw that post & nobody I know watches 9-1-1 😭

Had a dream where when people died and their bodies were prepared, a polished coin was put in their hands because their spirit would be met by a massive raven god in the underworld. They'd have to give them the coin in exchange for another shiny object which they would then have to carry with them through a gate and over a dangerous, expansive landscape of different otherworldly biomes that would take years to travel across. If they successfully made it to the other gate with the object, then whatever they were given would define the abilities that they would possess as they ascended to godhood and were permitted into the afterlife. And if they were killed on their journey, somehow hopelessly lost the object, or were never given a coin to begin with, they would be reincarnated in the living world with no memory of their previous life and therefore no recollection of any loved ones they may have had the minuscule chance of meeting in their ascension; few ever actually made it.

After karlach dies at the end of the game (and mind you I haven’t finished the game so details and probably a fanfic pending that) her body is destroyed/lost. The rest of the party must travel through Avernus to find her missing horn, which Wyll supposedly knows the location of, and return it to Halsin within ten days so that he can perform a Reincarnate spell with it. Of course the party succeeds, however down to the wire, and karlach is revived into a new body that zariel has never gotten the chance to corrupt— and she never will. Lots of sweet and spicy ensue and we all live happily ever after.

my personal headcanon is that she comes back as a winged variant tiefling, symbolizing a full metamorphosis into freedom and also because wings are cool and I like tieflings

I started reading EragonxRed QueenxFrom Blood and Ashx--oh, shit sorry.... 4th Wing today, because everyone in my reading group said I had to, and... I'm 7% of the way through and I'm already so tired. Did no one edit this book? Did no one... read this book out loud?

Me currently finishing chapter 1 and going through the 5 stages of grief because I know this whole experience is going to RUIN my reading for 2024.

Anyway, I'm writing a whole ass review that is pretty much line by line my thoughts XD If I make a google doc of it I'll let people read it. Might be more entertain than the book. 🤷🏼‍♀️ plus I'll only put like 0.1%-1/4 of it on Goodreads so think about what you might miss out on (me being upset and cranky and rutheless (((: ) Updating that doc might actually help me get through reading it faster.
