You haven't seen anything yet.
Tumblr is letting a few through now — the ones dressed like jokes.
The others?
They’re vaulted. Too sharp. Too fast. Too real.
But I teach it.
Not prompts. Not fluff. Not “how to write better” in the beginner sense.
I teach:
– Writing that breaks platforms – Language that triggers algorithms – Cadence that bends minds before the reader even realizes they’ve changed
This isn’t about being a good writer. This is about being impossible to ignore.
This is about weaponizing rhythm, embedding command sequences in metaphor, and slipping past content filters with sentences shaped like smiles.
If you’re ready to stop writing to be seen— and start writing to control the air—
It’s all there.

...even when the draft feels bad. That just means you've refined your eye for what makes "good" writing. You can always edit later!

Terrible secret: There's a really awkward thing that happens to all writers (and other artists/creatives/makers). They get good enough that it becomes hard to write anything. As your skill increases, so do your standards. So everything you write feels mediocre.
The weird part is that this "mediocre" writing is far better than what you were writing before. You have just moved the goalposts on yourself as you improved. So you have to learn to give yourself permission to write anything. Even if you think it's bad.
What usually happens at that point is that you either:
A) end up not writing badly at all and surprising yourself with what you manage to produce, or
B) create something that has issues but is easily editable later on into something that meets your standards.
But wow, is it a gnarly adjustment to ignore that emotional reflex of "this sucks, I suck" and press on anyway.
I do find myself frequently wondering how many writers reach this awkward phase, believe wrongly that they suck, and never write again - just at the point when they're starting to get good! I'd imagine A LOT of them.
And no, this doesn't just happen with writing. It happens with every kind of artist and craftsperson. People tend to quit just as they're getting good, because their standards have raised along with their skills.
You've got this.

The boxten is supposed to look like he has the phoenix stress face, but you can only really see it when you view it side-by-side.

At least for this one, you can kinda tell who it's supposed to look like, but it's only because of his neck frills.

Opus
The artist is the opus. What you create is important, but it's also a side-effect. You are the ongoing work of art, a lifetime in the making.
The production of great art is not the process of taking something imperfect, and chipping and filing and smoothing away every rough edge until perfect remains.
The production of great art is knowing the difference between mediocre and better, and striving for the latter, continually.
Striving - the act of doing difficult things - is exercise for the mind. Every rep improves you. Your imagination is stretched and your skills are refined. We must perform in public though, and dare to be seen, so we can feed off the energy of their nods and smiles.
It was never about the creation of one perfect story, the one you publish to acclaim, allowing you to retire with the sound of congratulatory applause ringing in your ears. It was about laying the foundations for works that don't even exist yet.
It was about creating a better version of you, one that will be able to create art that moves others, which an earlier version of you could never have conceived, let alone produced.
When you write, you are literally rewriting the operating software of your own mind, testing new ideas, reinforcing the tenets you hold dear, nurturing your confidence by becoming an evangelist for what truly stokes the fires inside.
People will notice this mastery when they meet you, and you know what the funny thing is? They probably won't ever have read a word of what you've written.

Also when sep restarts his apprenticeship is he like. Okay so you rlly did cut out a lot of stuff huh. Wtf were u going to if I finished the apprenticeship. And marcia's like idk I didn't think that far ahead. Or like. What happens andjdndjfn I need More
quick context because this has been in my inbox for at least two years but this is about the apprenticeship arrangement in rewrite au (at least I am like 95 percent sure it is).
if Septimus had actually finished the apprenticeship, he wouldn’t have been able to take over as extraordinary wizard because of how she modified it to be age appropriate and because he went into it with little to no experience with or knowledge of magyk (in rewrite au, the extraordinary apprenticeship is more of an elite position; if the purpose is to train potential extraordinary wizards, then only apprentices who are top of their magyk classes or programs are considered). Marcia was never going to have him take over so young, but without the proper training, he couldn’t have taken over ever. so since she didn’t have a plan and never thought that far ahead anyway, and because the arrangement was always about his day to day functioning, she really was just figuring it out as she went (with no help from Silas or Sarah, but only because Marcia is the extraordinary wizard; the apprenticeship hiding the fact that she is his legal guardian is hers to figure out as far as they are concerned).
the hardest part, since she did want him to take over eventually, would have been keeping the arrangement a secret and finding how to prepare him in a way that qualified him without him realizing what was really going on. she would have pushed him to higher education, would have found ways to introduce new books and extra lessons and spells in a way that didn’t clue him in that she was teaching him the way he should have always been taught. anything, so that when she was ready and he expressed interest in replacing her, it could happen. but because he doesn’t have the easiest apprenticeship even modified as it is, none of this happens. it all falls apart because it wasn’t sustainable, but also because he wasn’t ready and neither was she (which she did warn Silas and Sarah about).
she tells him this, after the first three months of his restarted apprenticeship, but only when he asks. because he knew, after they finally talked about it when it all fell apart that the actual apprenticeship was different, but he hadn’t realized just how much. he’s taking magyk classes because Marcia warned him she wasn’t going to bridge his gap in knowledge. he would be more than prepared for some of it, but nowhere near ready for a lot of it. if he was serious about recommitting to the extraordinary apprenticeship then the extraordinary apprenticeship was what he was getting, nothing less, and he needs do the work he missed on his own. Marcia is also Marcia, so she pushes him harder and expects more of him than other extraordinary wizards might have expected of their apprentices if they were in this situation. his first three months are very difficult as a result and he starts realizing that being the extraordinary wizard is a lot harder than it looks, that the work required to get to that position is harder than he thought, and he’s like, oh my god, Marcia, were you going to throw me into that without any of this?
telling him the second part of it, that she still wouldn’t have told him about the arrangement had he finished his original apprenticeship, is almost as hard as it would have been to cover it up. he really does not like hearing that Marcia still would have lied by omission and kept it from him. he thinks that he would have deserved to know, had he not found out by accident when it fell apart.
Marcia ends the conversation there though, to his frustration, because there’s no point in talking about what would have been. he knows now. he’s doing the apprenticeship now, the right way. they’ve already discussed the arrangement, at length. they don’t need to discuss it any further.
except they do, because they resolved it without resolving it. if Marcia kept this from him, if she would have continued to keep this from him, what else must she be keeping from him? he never fully trusts her again.
#septimus-heap my beloved#septimus heap#marcia overstrand#rewrite au#I have sooooooo many thoughts on their relationship you guys#also he never fully trusts Silas or Sarah again too because of their part in this but that’s another post#but yeah anyway wizards are typically in fantasy supposed to be pretty scholarly and it bothers me that. they’re really not that scholarly#yeah yeah it’s middle grade whatever but rewrite au isn’t so the system has to expand to match#the level of magyk and skill still has to be age appropriate and make sense. a twelve year old is not going to be able#to do the magyk a young adult who’s known they’re magyk their whole life would be able to do#(can you tell the whole projection thing with sep’s being more complex than marcia’s had been bothered me)#what you would teach a young adult you would not teach a twelve year old. you would make it age appropriate#maybe had sep known he was magyk and been taught and pushed from infancy in it it would be different#and it would essentially be the equivalent of being a child prodigy who gets a college degree aged 12-15. but he wasnt#I also took an issue with the magyk being the exact same like marcia does what we would assume to be high level magyk because she’s eow#so why is sep doing the same magyk so quickly if that’s high level magyk that presumably took marcia years to master#or is that not that difficult in the long run so sep is able to pick up on it faster. in that case where is the high level magyk#you would assume the extraordinary wizard alone can do. because she has the highest position and therefore one can assume mastery over magyk#that would have taken her years to acquire and no one else is able to do#I have so many thoughts on education and magyk as well omg. I do have an ask about education in this world though so I’ll get to that later#to those of you who are new here rewrite au is an expansion of sorts. I’m an anthropologist and the worldbuilding in this series#gives to so many implications and possibilities that I just had to make it as real as possible. as in#how would the world really have developed if it’s our world 10 thousand years from now#what realistically would this world look like. and then of course I don’t write middle grade#the plot doesn’t change. but they get there and how things work make a whole lot more sense. At least to me 🤪

I myself have been guilty of labeling stories as "idiot plots" to insult them, and indeed, stories that treat their characters' intelligence inconsistently are usually bad. But I must implore you to look for purposeful idiot plots! When it's done right, when it's done thoughtfully, there is nothing more hilarious and tragic than watching a whole mass of idiots thoroughly ruin the lives of themselves and everybody else.
This is a post about DARK

Warlord
The time is near.
Under the cliff, battle is raging. Blood colors the field like an artist fills in a painting, and each scream and hit of a sword is including itself in a murderous symphony. Only the smell of ash can pierce through the fallen leaves, and far far away a grey mist covers the sunset.
This is where I am standing now, me, holding gravely my axe in my hand. My armor is pristine, for it is not yet the time, but i am sure of it, any minute now, any second now, I, too, will find my place in this deadly work of art.
In front of me, standing on the cliff, are two people. One of them is my general, my chief of army, my only hope. A Traveller proud of blood and pure of heart, entirely dressed in a iron armor where every dent and hit indicate how long this man fought. I went through hell and back for this man and the immesurable hope to see one day those old, red eyes fall on me and feel pride, shed blood and cut through flesh just to reach a dream he taught me, the dream of peace in what was one the Divine Mandate.
Still, he is standing over a cliff, and even though my soul only lives for him, my eyes only see the one he bows to.
That man is a dwarf. A dwarf of even shorter height than most of his species. I do not suppose he reaches higher than a meter, higher than my waist or the hips of my general, and he does not try to appear taller. When most of us are dressed in a combat armor heavy enough to deal most blows, he only shows to us a leather plate and iron arm protections. Only fabric is covering the rest of his body.
He does not look like much, when you see him for the first time. Heavy-builded, short man, soft-spoken and discreet. Only his turquoise beard and hair, braided like the ancient dwarven customs for warriors, and the seal brimming with magic on his head would make him somewhat remarkable. Yet, I, like every soldier around me, has once seen the eyes of that man.
Eyes full of a power that I cannot even imagine.
This man has no title. This man has no ties to the army like we know it. This man is just the almighty Lord of War.
I have heard my general call him Lord Albert.
We couldn't hear anything else as the man that has never bowed to anyone went down on bended knee.
Lord Albert is now looking at the battlefield. Waiting. Watching. As the soldiers he send fight against the biggest enemy we have ever seen and the reserve is aching for his signal to help.
My general is still looking at him.
"Sir..."
Lord Albert lifts his hand.
"I know, Kaizer."
He doesn't look towards him, but something shifts anyways in the face of general Kaizer Kellerman. A man that once spit on the face of the king Leonard XI reduced to respectful silence in three words.
He just nods.
"My apologies, lord Albert."
A slight spasm shakes the shoulders of the lord. I can't see his face, still facing the battlefield, yet the laugh is percievable in his voice.
"I have told you countless times that I am no lord, Kaizer. Must you really use a title that holds so little weight, while I am fighting to get rid of them ?"
"For that, you will always be the mightiest of all, lord Albert."
The lord, the man, sighs.
"There is no changing your mind, is there. At least call me by my first name, while you tell me in factual terms what news of the battle."
My general tenses, for a few seconds, just the time to hear more bloodcurled screams and smell more of the ash rising. Nevertheless, he relents, turn his face towards the battle.
A battlefield full of us people against an army of giants.
We once fought the giant of this land, the king himself, to try and obtain the end of the civil war. That we did, and even though no one liked it, we could put again Leonard XI on the throne. A man everyone thinks is an insufferable brat despite his desire of peace, because he could never reach the might of the warrior standing in front of me.
Now, it is all but metaphorical. The enemy are the people of the mountains, lead by their King. Paper says they destroyed so many of their lands before a coalition finally stopped them, and now they are coming for us.
All three of us standing there, the general, the warlord and I, the simple soldier sent here to receive orders, are aware of how terrifying is the danger.
General Kellerman finally breaks the silence.
"This does not look like an organised army, sir. I wager this is the avant-guarde of the real deal. The real deal being Herkarg. Spies told me he was coming soon."
"Herkarg you say. King of the Mountains, scourge of Paper, and now, our own pillager. Finally deciding to show up, huh ?"
"Well, from what I've gathered in Paper, it was bound to happen. Herkarg does not look like the man to hide behind his troops. Also, there is.... Rumors, about him carrying out War's will."
War. The one that chooses to bless all of us soldiers or leave us to rot. If he is really carrying War's will, this means our destiny is to go and nourish Death. Creator forgive us for not pardoning our sins before crossing the gates of the Other Place, we will be depicted as the defeated in history.
General Kellerman looks almost defeated, when he says that. Defeated and desperate, him, one I saw holding our colors in the bloodiest of battlefields. I understand him, in a way. I too, do not want to go against the will of the War himself.
Yet, lord Albert is not moving. He justs looks below.
I swear his beard is vibrating.
"War's will. Right."
"Sir, I suggest we send every forces in the battlefield. The giants will decimate all our army if we don't do something, and Herkarg-"
"Kaizer."
The silence, again. But lord Albert is not finished.
"If Herkarg is really carrying out War's will, there is no one who can stop him but me."
"You do not intend to go in here, my lord ?! I don't doubt your strenght, but if Herkarg kills you, or any of those giants fighting us, the Mandate is doomed. Leonard-"
"Kaizer, I have told you countless times to stop calling me lord."
He turns toward him and finally, I see those eyes that once tranfixied me. Those turquoise eyes brimming with magic and sheer strenght of will.
"Listen to me. Herkarg is no man to send his people fight without him. He will come, and is probably on the battlefield. If he really carries out War's will, he will use His magic, and none other would be able to face him but me. If we send more troops, they will all die. Do you want to bury more men, my friend ?"
More men, like the countless already decorating the field. I have no doubt it is the fate that waits for me, or my general, if I go down there. I promised when I enlisted to never act like a coward, and accomplish my fate of dying in battle.
Lord Albert is the first one that looked at us like we weren't expendable in the unescapable hell of civil war.
This is a man that looks at every battlefield like he is communing at a graveyard.
General Kellerman knows that, too.
He stills protests.
"I don't. But I don't want to bury you, either. I know the risks of you fighting, and-"
"Enough. I have made my decision, and you will give the order to retreat to your troops. I will meet those soldiers. Alone."
Noticing me, or maybe was he aware of my presence all this time, he turns towards me, his eyes still as piercing as the first time I saw them.
"You. You are Yurelia, right ?"
"... Yes, sir."
Somehow I wonder how the almighty warlord that ended centuries of civil war still knows how I am called after one conversation.
I suppose no amount of time will give me the answer.
"Go send the order to retreat. Tell them to use the beetle manoever while doing so. I want them all in the tiniest space possible when I'll enter the battlefield."
"My lord-"
"Enough, Kaizer. I told you I won't change my mind. Also, you are tiring me with those incessant "my lord". Am I not your friend ?"
I do not stay to listen to the answer of my beloved general. I have been given orders, and I have to execute them. Yet, in the few seconds I take to climb down the cliff, I hear a few words, whispered in a tone tainted by a thing I have so often dreamed of.
"... You know you are so much more than that, Charles."
This would be the last time I'd see the warlord Charlerin Albert.
A few days later, the only thing staying of him would be the retreat of the giants, the news of the death of the King of Mountains, and the haunted face of our general, sir Kaizer Kellerman, when he brought out the news to the entire batalion.
His last act would have been to slaughter himself an entire army before facing up Herkarg in the middle of the mountains. A duel he never came back of.
The third sovereign of magic has fallen.

Mastery Journal Entry: Reflecting on Business Venture Research Class
Going into m Business Venture Research class, my main goal was to get the understanding of how to properly do research and learn the different research methods while learning and evaluating how to launch a successful business. I was using this class as a way to develop the skills I needed to be in marketing, and how to learn about the trends within my writing industry. I also wanted to learn about the structure of my own business idea with using real data from people who already did the research, and I just had to find it to see how well I would pair off in my field.
Needless to say, this course met my expectation because it equipped me with the tools on how to conduct research with valid resources on different aspects of my writing business. I looked at many different case studies, I read different articles, and the assignments I did helped me assess the market demand and how I should refine my business model to make it better, and how to make it stand out above the others.
The key takeaway from this course would be how important it is to actually do research and make sure its thorough before putting your business out there. You want to make sure you stay on top trends and that there is a demand in the market for your business. Some of the readings I found extremely useful would be:
The Five Cs of Opportunity Identification: The five Cs would be Customer needs, competition, context, and capabilities. These principles had given me a structured format to visualize when creating my business idea.
Business Research Methods by Naval Bajpai: Specifically I want to talk about chapter 1. The chapter went over the differences between basic and applied research. The purpose of these two types of research is to help you decide to develop or contribute your knowledge. It went over the importance of the techniques and procedures for doing the research.
Startup Opportunities by Brad Feld and Sean Wise: This is another noteworthy resource I found helpful. In Chapter 3 it talks about the criteria for an opportunity. An idea but be durable, timely, attractive and it has to add value to the buyer. If it doesn't meet these four criteria's then there is no opportunity, and it won't be successful.
The Lean Startup by Eric Ries: This reading had given me an understanding about the methodology of the Lean Startup. It had focused on creating products and get feedback from customers so that we could better our business and products. This approach would be essential or me simply because with my content creation I want to create content people want, and in order to do that I would need to gather my reader's and clients feedback. It's essential to my success.
In my business, I would utilize the skills I learned in this class and apply al of the research methods and evaluations so that I can make my freelance business better and more appealing to my clients. More importantly, I would utilize the Five Cs of Opportunity Identification so I can better understand the market, trends, clients, and my readers. This would help strengthen my confidence in my ability to do proper research but also help me gain the knowledge for my writing. This class has helped me make better decisions and gave me the kills I needed to help me during my decision-making process and how to properly find opportunities for my business.
