My aim with this blog is to connect with the writing community; maybe find a couple of mutuals to help with accountability.

When i read a book i can feel the author's mind inside it, like a living person trapped in the pages, moving through the words. i want to trap myself in a story. i want to lay down my worries and hopes for someone else to see.

Update! Currently rereading my medieval fic and have made the decision to rewrite/edit (massively) it all. I’m cringing at how horrible my own writing is! May also change the title as well, not sure yet.

Been inactive lately, sorry! Life is hard and so is writing. On a more positive note, I’ve begun looking at my fic’s that need finishing and plan on working on them each day. Don’t worry, “Penpal” will be in the works as well as my 1920’s fic that I started a few years ago!

Here’s to updating (already posted fic’s) on A03 sometime this year and waiting to post new fic’s until they are almost or completely finished!

As we made our way into the city, the greenery gave way to apartment complexes. Clusters of satellite dishes mushrooming from the sides of the buildings were the only sign of life.

In the nocturnal peace of Lizzy’s bedroom, that was lit only by the dim shards of light from a newly risen crescent moon, the thud of her jewellery box hitting the hard wooden floor and snapping open seemed amplified.

Why do you have to be so fucking mean?

Going around defending the people who are fighting against me.

Even if you’re always on my side,

Can you fight with me instead of letting things slide?

Now let’s talk about fights that turn into apologies.

Except the apology never comes from you, only me.

Would you just care a little bit about my feelings?

Not push them aside like they hold no meaning.

Can you do the simple things I ask?

Can you finish a single fucking task?

Not fool around like an actual child,

Just be mature for awhile.

You’re supposed to be my friend, not my enemy.

Please just stop making a fool out of me.

What are you writing this week✍🏽?⁠ -⁠ Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the lack of existence or erasure of groups like people of color and queer relationships between women, or lgbtq+ relationships that aren't just White men in the fanfiction📚 that I consume.⁠ -⁠ I love the fandoms that I read. I love the friendships and the ships that live in these spaces. However, sometimes when I want to read fics like fluffy teeth rotting ones that happen to involve a person of color, it's like searching for a needle in a haystack if they haven't already been pushed to the margins or vanished from the fandom altogether. ⁠ -⁠ Not to say that there aren't writers telling amazing stories with POCs, with WLW, with disabilities, etc. It's just the constant reminder that there's still work to be done and that talking about these things presents windows of opportunities for us to see the gaps that we can help fill. ⁠ -⁠ I love fanfiction, and I always will, but since I was a kid, I've held on to this fear that I'm not good enough to tell these stories or get the voices right. But what has fear given me? Nothing. As I've said before, this fear of writing serves no one. I'm tired of not existing, I'm tired of being erased, I'm tired of the single narrative. So, what do I do about it?⁠ -⁠ I'm challenging myself to write at least one 100 to 500 word (or more) story every other week in the fandoms I love.
