Erik just casually admitting how gay he was for Charles and Rogue confirming for us. It's also a very common trope in regard to people who are villains or anti-heroes - they fear love, because they know it can heal, and that makes them scared, because if they're healed it's possible that all the rage they had in their heart for the injustice that is happening would disappear or mellow down and make them abandon their cause, stop trying to force this rotten world to fix its flaws. That's why Erik cut himself from Charles and focused solely on his crusade.

X-MEN 97 Episode 1 and 2 SPOILERS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My thoughts
GOSH the character designs and everyone is so hot and have beautiful hair ❤️❤️❤️
The animators love Logan's barechest 👀
Really enjoyed the animation especially during the action scenes and I love the tag team and power combos for each X-Man.
I hope to see more Morph and his friendship with Logan bcs their scenes r playful especially the end of episode 2 when Morph transforms to Sabertooth and they playfully spar with each other.
I wish that Logan is not too hung up on Jean. The Logan, Scott, Jean love triangle was meh and it's not my cup of tea. I want Logan and Scott to just become friends. And Logan being an uncle to Scott and Jean's son.
The hint of Cherik 👀❤️on episode 2 and that picture
Idk what's going on with Magneto and Rogue. I saw online that in the comics they were in a relationship which is yikes. Here I am wishing that the hand scene with Magneto and Rogue is more of father and daughter relationship. Gambit x Rogue is endgame and no one should interfere with them. I want Gambit to be happy
The cliffhanger on episode 2 😲
The end credits. I wonder if that is foreshadowing for future episodes. Bcs I think the end credits ends without the cursor opening Wolverine, Magneto, and Rogue.
For future episodes that I look foward, I wish Ororo 😭 comes back, more character centric episodes or silly episodic with characters such as Morph, Jubilee, and Nightcrawler. Also, episodes focusing on character relationships.
Anyway thank you so much for reading my thoughts and rants because I don't have anyone to talk about it.

X-Men 97 episode 6 *SPOILERS*
Shi'ar Empire/Space
Honestly, I wasn't expecting to see them and get an update on Xavier in this episode cause I thought this was gonna be the full Lifedeath conclusion, so more focus on Storm. But, I think it's nice to see how he's doing.
This is the first time we see Deathbird AKA Lilandra's sister in the X-Men animated series, and I like her look.
Gladiator is such a stoic bad@$$. Ngl, after seeing him fight after so long, Superman popped into my head. I think it was the powerset he displayed.
Ronan and the Kree! I wasn't expecting to see them cause we never had the Kree mentioned or shown in the previous show, so this was a nice surprise. Aldo, it's so refreshing to see Ronan the Accuser in his more comic- accurate outfit. Cause, I've only recently seen him and the Kree in their MCU outfits, so seeing the classics was nice.
Noticed Vulcan during the beginning....kinda awkward cause he's Scott's other brother. Dunno if they'll do anything with that, but then again, they didn't do much with Havok in the previous show.
It's good to see Xavier healthy again, but why hasn't he checked up on the X-Men during that year? Why didn't he let them know that he's okay? Is it because of that black hole?
Didn't know Xavier was interested in being Lilandra's....pet....psychics be kinky.
Xavier talking about Magnus....oh god, when he finds out what happened to him....
Man, even in space, mutants can't catch a break! Xavier gonna be emperor along with Lilandra, and these sunsofbeeches hate it cause he's Terran AND a mutant. Like, can the mutants EVER get anything nice?!
Xavier was willing to forgo his memories on Earth and of his friends and family. Just to be with Lilandra....god dammit, this show really is a soap opera.
Xavier educating the Shi'ar council, Deathbird, Gladiator, and even Lilandra on their system and why it's bad was pretty funny. Dude was going back to being a teacher. And, I thought he was succeeding until....
The vision. Now, he knows what happened to Genosha, and he gotta go back. Good, cause they need him more than ever. I just wish it didn't have to break him and Lilandra up. Like, can we have a good relationship that doesn't end in a breakup, death, or have way too much drama, please?!?!
GAMBIT!!! 😭 It still hurts! But, the vision could also be foreshadowing that he'll become Death of the Four Horsemen. And Magneto wasn't there, so does that mean he survived?!
Storm, Forge, and the Adversary
Storm called Forge "my love". She was mad at him earlier, but I guess despite the anger, she loves him too and understood that he tried to help her despite what he did.
The Adversary is spooky. I didn't get how they appeared, but from what the show says, the demon appears to feed on the self-loathing, so they sensed Forge AND Storm and came to them.
Storm's fear of tight spaces comes into play. The Adversary used her fear against her which almost worked. First time Forge was able to banish the demon, despite being poisoned, and the second time, Storm overcame her fears and doubts and got her powers back.
Oh yeah, MISTRESS OF THE ELEMENTS IS BACK!!! 🤩 She even got her iconic black outfit with the tiara! I'll miss her classic white outfit, though. And she got her long hair back! No offense to the mohawk.
Shoutout to @stormandforge for talking about how she got her powers back cause I was so confused and sleep-deprived. What makes the most sense was the machine Forge used worked. It's just that she had some kind of mental/psychological block going on with her powers and had to overcome it to reactivate them. Kinda like how Peter lost his powers in Spider-Man 2. As for how she got her outfit, well, Storm, in the very first episode in the previous show, used her lightning to change outfits. So, I chopped it off to that. Yeah, lightning doesn't work like that, but she looks beautiful! The hair was actually what I was most confused about cause she had a mohawk, and suddenly, her hair got long again? I thought some parts of her head was shaved. So how did her change? Same way as the outfit?
Forge is cured, so fingers crossed these two will be together and not end poorly and messy as it did in the comics. Please, I just need one good relationship in this freaking show that isn't gonna end in tragedy.
And she knows about Genosha. God, I really hope she doesn't get survivors guilt over this. But, we need her and Xavier more than ever with what's to come.
The rest
Y'know, it was one thing for Trask to be involved with the massacre, but Mr. Sinister? I wasn't expecting that. I thought it was the FoH or Apocalypse or maybe Nimrod. Either way, I'm mad now that I know who's responsible cause how dare them kill Gambit, Magneto, Leech and the others, and hurt Nightcrawler and Rogue! I really hope that they find a way to finish him off for good and make it hurt like hell!
NIGHTCRAWLER GOT TO BE PART OF THE INTRO!!! 🤩 Does that mean he's gonna be finally part of the X-Men? Will we ever get him using his swords? Cause they keep teasing that!
I just wish it wasn't at the expense of Magneto and Gambit's intros. Man, I was bracing myself, and they had to do that and the recap! UGH, IT STILL HURTS! 😭
The episodes have really alternated with multiple storylines in this show. The previous one usually focuses on one story at a time.
So, that's pretty much it. Good episode. One more episode left until even more trauma will be inflicted on us cause 8-10 are gonna be a doozy.

Ok, if y’all haven’t watched X-Men ‘97 Episode 5 yet,
1) what rock are you living under (and can I join your antisocial habitat)?
2) Skip this post if you don’t want spoilers.
So Gambit has always been very particular about his armor choices (everything has a purpose and if you don’t know it - GO READ YOUR COMICS).

So… I’ve watched the original X-Men tas probably five or six times, and I was so excited for the new episodes today!!
So I broke down all the Easter eggs I saw in the first episode! I hope to do this with every episode and I’m going to start the second one tonight. This probably isn’t all of them, so comment if I missed something.
If you want a really good analysis of this episode, you should watch the YouTube channel New Rockstars. They do amazing breakdowns of everything nerdy and have the coolest merch!!
Obviously, spoilers for episode one of X-Men ‘97’
Logo update on title card
1:16: The panning of the city shows signs that advertise Ashida, Stark industries, VistaCorp and Da Costa. Noriko Ashida is mutant Surge, who was introduced in New Mutants in January of 2008. Stark industries is obviously Tony Stark. The original show featured a story with both Wolverine and Captain America, so we know the avengers exist in some form. And Da Costa: Roberto Da Costa AKA sunspot appears in the opening of the show, captured by the FOH. Sunspot made his appearance as a member of the original New Mutants.
1:20 Anti mutant graffiti and X logo spray painted over “Report Mutants” flyer on pole.
2:00 FOH has same arm bands and military style berets. They also appear to have sentinal technology as wearable weapons.
2:47 There’s a missing poster for a woman who appears to be Marrow, another frequent X-Men character and Morlock.
4:55 Daily Bugle, the news paper known to Spider-Man fans, flashes by. Again, spider man was in an episode of the original X-men animated series, confirming the universes are one. This paper advertises “Benetton’s Mutant Fashion Show”, the cover notably features four mutants, two of which are resubmit recognized and Banshee and Dust.
5:03 Gambit is rocking a crop top that says “Rock.” From the design, it looks like he cropped the shirt himself. He’s also sporting a necklace with a blue/ white gem. Here, he’s making Begets, a traditional Cajun treat, reflecting on Gambit’s own roots in the French quarter of New Orleans.
5:18 Rogue is back in her pink dress, the same dress she wore in the pilot of the original animated series.
6:54 Beasts’s book collection features Animal
Farm by George Orwell, the book he read in prison in the original series.
7:37 Both Beast and Jubilee mention that Bishop is a time traveler, but neither mention why he’s staying in their time with the X-Men.
8:52 The Danger Room simulation features the rubble of the UN, Magneto flying above it. This foreshadows later in the second episode where he does use his powers at the UN.
9:20 Jubilee lists off powers to Sunspot, asking which are his. She mentions shooting gold balls from his body, saying that would be weird. This references Goldballs, a very real and very weird X-Men.
9:57 Scott stares at a picture of the original X-Men with Xavier. In the comics, the original five are Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Angel, Ice Man and Beast. In the show, we’ve seen all five but never all together. And Angel never acknowledges being in the original X-men.
10:00 Scott and Jean talk to Dr. Cooper; aka Valerie Cooper. In comics, she’s an assistant to the president on the context of superhumans.
10:54 The team play basketball outside, just like Wolverine, Gambit and Jubilee did in the original show.
11:08 Charles’ death certificate reveals that the date of his death is 11/11/1996, and that his middle name is Francis.
12:13 Jean confirms for the first time that her and Cyclops’ baby is a boy, most likely Nathan Summers.
18:42 Jean sees a child’s hand drawing a picture when she uses cerebro. Is this a flash to the future of her son?
19:04 The baby jean holds is wrapped in a yellow X-Men blanket.
19:35 The rocks behind Jean turn into gravestones.
23:28 The sentinels call out an omega level threat. This refers to Storm’s Omega level status, one of the first times weve talked about power rankings in tas.
23:42 Where Storms’s lightening hits the sand, it turns into glass. This is a natural phenomenon and the glass structures are called fulgurites.
24:50 The soldiers and helicopters that come to take Trask are labeled as UN forces. They’re accompanied by Valerie Cooper, her second appearance this episode.
28:12 When Magneto moves the book, only the metal corners light up as being manipulated by his powers, just a fun detail.
And of course, updated title cards in the end credits

X-Men 97 has been incredible it perfectly understands the characters and their roles it's been able to avoid falling into telling the same stories that we always see adapted but episode 5 is something else spoilers obviously the animation has peaked it's looked a little rough in regular dialogue (when it doesn't really matter) but it's clear to me where the budget went the explosions in this episode looked better then everything that came before combined especially gambits final push to kill the Godzilla Sentinel mind boggling and from a writing perspective the first 2/3 of the episode is perfect setup for the siege on genosha it shows the audience that genosha is a nation full of promis then ties it to one of the most popular characters in nightcrawler and show you what it means to him then winds up it's guy punch first with magneto and rogue then with cable showing up trying to warn Madalyn then boom(literally) the siege starts and they hold back enough there not showing strewn everywhere but beloved characters are just getting killed left and right leaves the audience almost shell shocked given how light the violence had been to this point. Leeches faith in magneto makes what ultimately happens to them all the more devastating and gambits death basically perfect. With them killing of so many big characters I'm left wondering if some major skipping is going to be done so that show can reach the krakoan age way early

Tell me again how X-men were "never woke", because damn I need to hammer someone in the head with all the parallels to real life and how people are denied services they need because of who they are. Any person who says that X-men were never woke, and that original series was never woke, must get their eyes checked, or take an advanced course in "watching with comprehension", because geez you're wrong.

X-Men '97 Episode 5 spoilers!
I'm a very new X-Men fan, but the brilliance of '97 has made me watch all of '92 plus Evolution and now I'm on Wolverine and the X-Men. I immediately fell in love with Gambit because of his design and while his personality took a bit to grow on me in '92 I eventually found him charming. But he was a main character, and that cannot be said of him in the other animated series. So of course with '97 I was looking forward to him getting to use his powers in creative ways and more screentime in general that he got in '92.
I was being fed quite well with each episode with Romy teases + Gambit's use of his powers besides just using his cards (while cool we know he can do so much more). Of course all this is likely going to be changed after episode 5, where Gambit did a super heroic thing and sacrificed himself to save many. Basically all of him this episode was perfection, and I loved it. But if he is actually gone, I am so conflicted. Yes '92 was quite long and he was a main character there, but he truly is a different and improved character in '97. I cannot stomach the possibility he is only alive for 5 episodes of a show we know is getting at least 2 more seasons.
Maybe it's good they killed him off early so I did not get even more attached haha. I also have been hearing theories going around that it is likely Cable could intervene and will reset things (as he already tried to do) and everyone that died will return. I would love this, but I know so many people liked this episode because of the deaths, so it almost feels selfish for me to want that! Still, while Gambit was awesome in the season, so many of his scenes after Episode 1 involved him being put down either by hallucinations or Magneto. He deserved more than that.
At the very least the good thing about superhero comics is that one version of the character could be gone, but there are many more versions waiting for you to meet. I called his death happening a few days ago when a French leak confirmed this was a Gambit episode, but gosh I didn't mean it! And that's my vent. Just had to get it out there because I am so torn on this show now. I love it but it's also hurting me!

5 Characters who should get an Invincible Special Origin Episode
Tumblr media
Invincible Season 2 has just wrapped up, and while some fans are a little disappointed with its ending, overall the general consensus has been positive. From excellent music, to phenomenal voice work and animation, along with X-Men '97 its been a great time to be a superhero fan AND an animation fan.
Tumblr media
This season also brought in a handful of new characters, as well brought some fan favorites to the forefront, including Allen the Alien, Rex Splode and Immortal.
I think I speak for everyone when I say I love being in this universe, and would love to see more. And while I know Season 3 will be here sooner than Season 2 was, I've been thinking about all those incredible characters and the Atom Eve Special.
It went a long way in showing how good the animation got, expanding on Atom Eve, and evening building up threats like The Lizard League.
Tumblr media
I think theres alot of potential in expanding some of these characters, seeing their origins and helping build up their character development.
So I'm going to go through some, along with ideas as to how the episodes can play out. Spoiler Warning for Invincible Season 1 & 2 and mild spoilers from the comics.
5. Bulletproof
Tumblr media
Starting off with one of the newest members of the Guardians of the Globe, Zandale Randolph AKA Bulletproof is definitely a character you forgot was in this season.
While he is known for a few big things in the future, he didn't really get to do much this season. He wasn't very useful in the sequid invasion, didn't really help in any major fights, nor do we know anything about him. So why him?
His history in the comics is rather tragic, and I think is something we are going to explore. His twin brother, a mad genius, attempts experimenting on Zandale in order to give himself superpowers. Instead it gives Zandale superpowers, and kills his brother.
Due to this, and unable to tell his parents, he pretends to be both brothers to preserve his brothers legacy.
That tragedy is alot, and could make for an amazing episode, with his brother being the villain and explain why he is so guarded.
Plus, I love Jay Pharoah. More Jay Pharoah please.
Tumblr media
4. Dupli-Kate
Tumblr media
We got some hints at Dupli-Kates origin in her eulogy from Immortal. Her powers come from a curse upon her family, that led to both her and her brother gaining the ability to multiply.
What you don't know is they started off as a brother sister team before going their separate ways.
We actually see Kate's brother Multi-Paul in the cell when the Maulers escape again. Seeing a young version of Multi-Paul before their inevitable confrontation in a later season could give us more stakes.
Tumblr media
Yes, this is another sibling rivalry just like Bulletproof, but this could start way more fun than Bulletproofs.
And two multipliers who are children fighting it out in a dramatic finish? Also good television.
3. Monster Girl
Tumblr media
Talk about a tragedy.
Monster Girl's curse was given to her after falling in love with a man whose grandmother disapproved of her. That grandmother was a witch, who turned her into an ogre with extraordinary power.
We don't get much else from her origin, which could give us some wiggle room.
This could start as a love story turned horror story, unable to get out of her monster form, feeling trapped in her own body. We can have the witch be an Agatha Harkness type, and a physical threat in the episode too.
Tumblr media
Once she is defeated, Amanda is able to turn back and be with the man she loves, until she realizes months later, that she is getting younger, and he breaks her heart.
The beats are all there, and I'd love to see a magic based episode in the Invincible Universe mixed in with some Hulk style action. Plus, building up Amanda will be important as she is vital in the comics.
2. Thaedus The Great Betrayer
Tumblr media
You didn't think I was only picking Guardians did you?
Thaedus' episode could be by far the most interesting, showing us Viltrum from a first hand perspective, before he betrayed and before he formed the Coalition.
I don't want to get too heavy into spoilers, but he causes a brutal blow on the Viltrum Empire I'd love to see first hand. We can keep Peter Cullen, or get a younger voice actor, but either way, seeing a younger Viltrum Empire would be very intriguing and a bloodbath.
Tumblr media
1. Rex Splode
Tumblr media
Despite being one of the most annoying characters in Season 1, Rex is by far the standout of Season 2 in my eyes.
Another origin that was slightly teased, I can imagine Rex's episode can be his sad origin, meeting Atom Eve in act 2, and taking out his oppressors by the end in a good old fashioned team up.
This could be a direct sequel to the Atom Eve Special, giving us more Eve, and help us understand their relationship even better. Plus Rex being blind sided with a girl who can make anything? Sounds like a fun battle to me.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for reading! Please consider following, and check out my socials and other sites here! And let me know: Who do you want to see get an Invincible Special Origin Episode?

RANT TIME! SPOILERS WARNING!
So I decided to get up and watch it after all, but I didn’t get up as I usually do because I was really dreading it…
X-Men 97. Episode 6. Lifedeath part 2. Recap. Sad to see Recap from last week 💔. My boy missing from the title screen (even though they still showed him on the Blackbird if you look)😭. Nightcrawler on title screen (doesn’t replace my boy though). Apocalypse on title screen…interesting. Prof X! This episode hurts already. Forge. Storm. Demon. Storm’s powers back! GAMBIT AS DEATH? Mr. Sinister AGAIN
I don’t know why I keep watching this show when it hurts so much?! I don’t have too much to say other than it was very painful to watch even a week later. It really is going to be painful when we have to watch a FUNERAL and actually deal with Gambit’s death. And I am still mad at my girl Rogue 🤬 Forge and Storm story conclusion was good. Glad Storm has her powers again. Still doesn’t erase the pain 💔😭 Storm is going be very unhappy when she finds out about her friend Remy 💔😭 Prof X seeing Gambit dead…that hurt AGAIN 😭💔 Or is he seeing him as Death?? And Mr. Sinister is back again. This episode didn’t answer any of my questions at all and left everything wide open so I have another week of sleepless nights. 😭💔
At this point, I really think Gambit is coming back as Death. Apocalypse on title screen is very interesting and fits that theory 🧐👀

spoilers for episode 2 of X-Men '97
Post X-Men '97 E2 - Pietro Maximoff stops by after the trial to see his father.
-
"Uh, oh," a voice said a minute after Morph left. "You'll get more wrinkles if you keep frowning like that," Pietro tutted, fiddling with the lamp on his desk.
Erik's head snapped up as his son's voice pierced the air, his attention instantly diverted from the reports sprawled out on his desk, feeling a swell of surprise and relief wash over him. In a hasty motion, he quickly pushed the reports aside, disregarding them in favour of his unexpected visitor. The young man before him caught Erik off-guard, and he could not help but stare in surprise.

X-Men 97 episode 3, here are my thoughts.
*SPOILERS*
Pros:
Goblin Queen got a magical girl transformation sequence. Dunno why this is a pro, but I like it and her outfit. See? A woman looking sexy. Now can the people talking about Rogue's looks can back off now? By the way, Madelyn was actually the Jean we saw this whole time....yeah, I'm gonna get to that later.
The mansion being haunted and the hell pit. The visuals were pretty good on that. I especially liked how each section was showing many of the characters' greatest fears and mess with their insecurities.
Bishop and Cyclops team up which Bishop got to do something cool.
Jean vs. Goblin Queen. It was good. Honestly, I felt bad for both of them Jean was held captive for who knows how long and missed out a lot. Madelyn didn't know she was a clone until Mr. Sinister revealed it to her since she believed to be the real Jean. Then she got brainwashed like a sleeper agent to do Mr. Sinister's bidding.
Forge! He's finally here!
A lot of comic references that worked pretty well.
There was more moments with Morph. He still got involved and despite what he went through because of Sinister, he was still willing to take the X-Men to where he is. However, I thought Morph would do a bit more due to his connection to Mr. Sinister. So, this is kinda a pro and a con to me. I just hope he doesn't get even more traumatized because of Goblin Queen brainwashing him when he was in his Magik form.
Cons:
I'll be honest. I liked the last two episodes more than this one. I think it's because the Madelyn/Goblin Queen storyline from the comics was resolved so quickly. The return of Mr. Sinister, the Jean we saw since episode one was a clone, Nathan going to the future to be cured, Goblin Queen, that all happened and concluded in one episode. Something like this should have some more buildup. Like, be a two-episode or three-episode arc. Many arcs from the 90s X-Men show has lasted for 2-3 episodes, so I thought this was gonna be that. But, I guess not.
Roberto AKA Sunspot was there in this episode, but he didn't really do anything aside from being saved. I thought he left the school, and I don't get why he had to be there when Beast was checking on Jean at the beginning since he's not a member of the team (not yet at least). Maybe he was there to hangout with Jubilee? Well, I just hope that this is building up to him using his powers and develop his character.
The calling herself Madelyn Pryer....when the hell did she come up with her new name?! It felt like it came out of nowhere. She was saying goodbye to Jean, and she's like, "Just call me Madelyn Pryer."......HUH?! You can't just suddenly introduce her new name like that cause it so sudden.
Questions
Will Gambit confront Rogue on her relationship with Magneto and will it go badly?
Again, WHEN WERE THE TWO EVEN A THING?!?! Unless this is a red herring.
When did the switcheroo happen with Jean and her clone? We don't know when so it could've been during the timeskip offscreen.
Is that it from Bishop? Was the point of him being there was to take Nathan to the future to be cured?
What the hell was Morph gonna do with those claws?! I know he can joke around, but hard to reach places?! With those claws?!
How's Forge gonna help Storm get her powers back?
Now that Jean knows how much she means to Logan, Cyclops having a son with a clone who he thought was Jean and knowing that some of the time he spent with her was a lie cause it wasn't Jean, and the last scene where they stood there awkwardly, is there gonna be even more tension between the three? Cause that's gonna be stressful to watch. I blame Sinister if more drama is gonna happen.
Logan's never gonna move on, is he?
And, that's pretty much it.
