Oh I’m mad at Zoro. Saying that about Usopp. Don’t care what’s technically right or wrong, but Luffy also fucked up in that argument and almost told Usopp to leave himself before Sanji stopped him. And Usopp was supposed to hear that and not react out of hurt? Not to mention part of why he left was he felt useless. Acting like Luffy can’t be the one to bridge the gap especially when he has all the power, is dumb as fuck. Especially forcing Usopp to beg and humiliating him when Luffy already beat him up so badly (which I don’t blame Luffy for but, like Sanji said, it was humiliating). Not to mention Zoro knows Usopp fought so hard for their crew and to save Robin despite not officially being part of it risking his life as much as any of them. And it was Usopp who got Luffy back up fighting Lucci.
To me this narrative would make sense if pride was Usopp’s fatal flaw and this was meant to be a character building moment where he overcomes that pride to apologize for his fault. But that’s not his fatal flaw. In fact it’s the opposite. For all the bluster, he’s extremely insecure. He already had 0 self esteem so Zoro’s approach and Luffy going along with it, pretending not to hear him, forcing him to beg, just seemed cruel.
What I’m most irritated about with Luffy on this is that when both Nami and Robin left, Zoro spoke against them, and Luffy defended them. I know part of that is because Luffy knew he didn’t know the whole story in their cases. But at the same time, as he said in Nami’s case, he also didn’t need to know the whole story to make a decision. Luffy is supposed to be able to judge people by their hearts - that’s his big thing - that’s why vivi doesn’t care that Robin joined them because she trusts Luffy’s ability that much. So to me, this could have been character building for both Usopp and Luffy, but instead it felt like regression, particularly for Luffy. It didn’t feel like Usopp “manning up” or Luffy becoming less childlike, which seemed to be the intended message.
The whole reunion left a bitter taste in my mouth and I was really looking forward to it. And it seems like it’s closed so I don’t think this will be resolved in the future. If it is closed they better at least not make Usopp suffer/“earn” his place back by treating him lowly.

i wrote something inspired by that dream scene from “route 66” but it’s reader in aaron’s place.
i kept it kinda vague…it could be that aaron was your boyfriend who is now dead or that aaron is who he really is, a fictional character. your choice. either way he stays the same age.

“Hi, sweetheart. I saved you a seat.”
“Aaron?”
He stood up tall and gorgeous, dressed up as if he was your date to a ball. His hand reached out to you and you grabbed it without a second thought.
It felt warm and real, but even after giving it a squeeze, you still knew it wasn’t.
“Come to me.”
You, of course, did.
“You look different,” he said once you sat down. His large hand cupped your cheek and you nuzzled against it, savoring the moment; knowing it could very well be the last time you had the chance to do it. “You’ve grown.”
“You haven’t,” you said and the realization broke your heart. “I miss you.”
“I know.”
Staring into his eyes, you wished for the moment to never end. You only wanted to drown in that feeling of peace and safety forever. But he took his eyes away from yours, redirecting his attention to the big screen in front of him.
“Oh look, it’s starting!” he said, seemingly excited for the movie you were about to watch.
Instead of the face of a famous actor though, you saw your own self moving across the screen. Moments of your life; you at home, you at work, you alone or with friends.
“Look how beautiful you are,” he said admiring you.
Where you saw sadness he saw beauty; you loved him for it.
“Who is that?” he asked, hitting you playfully with his elbow.
“Just a boy.”
“I think he likes you.”
“He’s not you.”
And even if he was, he would never love you the way you wanted to be loved. The way Aaron did it.
“It gets hard,” you spoke again. “And I’m alone. When it gets too much, I think that if you were here I wouldn’t be afraid.”
“I am here. You just can’t see me. I’m proud of everything you do.”
With that he brought his lips on yours, kissing you more gently than you’d ever been kissed before.
“I need to go now,” he said when your mouths parted. “I’m sorry.”
“No, please don’t leave,” you begged him, a few tears escaping from the corners of your eyes.
Aaron was quick to catch them with his thumb, rubbing your cheek as he spoke to you softly.
“I have to.”
“Then I wanna stay with you. I don’t wanna go back,” you asked with a broken voice. “Please.”
“We can’t always have it our way, sweetheart,” he scolded you. But his tone was loving, not tough.
You had no choice but to accept that you had to let go. “That’s unfair.”
“I know.”
You sighed and your gaze dropped to the floor, so he took your chin between his fingers and forced you to look at him. “There are people back there who care about you, you know.”
You nodded at his words, and that earned you a proud smile. Aaron opened his arms and you gladly got lost in them, melting entirely in his embrace. Holding him as tight as you could, you silently begged that the moment you’d wake up would wait just a bit longer.

I tried finding out the most common eye color in Cuba but there seems to be no data on that :(
But I did find out that they are in 9th place for dick size
that’s. hilarious. big dick lance rights. but also i can just tell you that the most common eye colour in cuba is brown bc the most common eye colour ANYWHERE is brown, because brown eyes are the dominant gene. also, i was reading up about cuban history (considering writing a period piece) and unless i read the wikipedia article wrong, 65% of cubans are afro-cubans or have african decent, and of course more melanin means darker eyes. the chances of lance having light eyes is LOW, and even though he’s mixed, it’s still really unlikely that he’d have blue eyes, especially bc his skin and hair are both dark. he has a lot of melanin. his eyes should be dark. the reason they’re not in canon is, whether you like this or not, because animated characters of colour are FREQUENTLY designed with as many ‘white’ features as possible. i mean they will have euro-centric features such as small noses, thin lips, straight/wavy hair, light eyes. this happened in atla, it happened in the owl house, and holy shit did it ever happen in voltron. this is a pattern and i’m dog shit tired of it. people of colour deserve to not only see themselves in shows and media but they deserve to see themselves as beautiful and talented and capable and not second best! brown eyed people have the most gorgeous and breathtaking eyes in all humanity and i refuse to bend to the messaging telling me otherwise!!
