#yet all I see is ken and its upsetting

This is a big text post, and I apologize :)

Recently, I saw the Barbie movie, I had thoughts and feelings about it afterward that I had to share. So once I was with friends who had seen the movie, we talked about it. I talked about how I loved the messaging that I saw in the movie. My friend talked about how amazing the representation of Barbies mental health/disorders was. It was great! My friends boyfriend didn't say much until another friend showed up and mentioned how he thought Ken (Ryan Gosling specifically) was fantastic. They said they wanted to buy the Kenough sweaters, they kept telling each other that they were kenough, and then they played every song that Ken sung.

I could kinda tell my friend had more to say about the movie, and I certainly did. More than anything, I wanted to tell them to shut up about Ken. The movie wasn't about him. It was about Barbie and how women are treated by the world. Yet here are the men only talking about the men in the film and not letting the afab people talk about anything else.

Ken being told that he isn't defined by being Barbies boyfriend or how well he does beach, and that he is kenough was wonderful. But Barbie had the same character arc, going from thinking she's only stereotypical Barbie to choosing to become human because possibility is beautiful and it makes her feel is all that matters. Barbie learned it then told Ken because it was a hard journey and she wanted to help him, yet so many people are only paying attention to Kens realization.

Looking back, I focused on Ken too, before I had even seen the movie. This is stolen straight from Google:

"He admits he found his daughters' Ken doll “face down in the mud outside one day, next to a squished lemon” which was all the convincing Gosling need. “It was like, This guy's story does need to be told, you know?”"

I loved this it just really stuck with me for some reason, but I don't like it now. Ken's face down in the mud because his story doesn't need to be told. He doesn't represent what all the little girls playing with Barbie are looking for, which is to be able to do what they want and have that be kenough. The Kens were there to mirror how men treat everyone else in the real world. This movie was for the Barbies of the world, a "guy's story" doesn't belong in it. It's okay for the movie to be made for one group, especially when the majority of movies are made for the other.

It's very disheartening see when I've heard people call the movie, "women empowering", "the most feminist movie ever" and so much more. Ironic that a movie ment to show how women get overshadowed by men is having its plot overshadowed by the men that acted in it.

Business Trips With Ken!

inspiration strikes! i’m on a roll, i never usually write so much 😭. just some more ken headcanons/blurbs :))

send a request if you have one! i’m looking for some more ideas about what to write!

Ken LIVES to be around you

So when he learns that you have to travel for two weeks or so for your job, he’s a little bitheartbroken

The poor guy immediately assumes that he won’t even hear from you the whole time

You explain to him that you could still call him and talk every day, you just wouldn’t be in person with him for a little

He’s still very sad, but he does his best to be understanding

He helps you pack your bags and insists you bring a bunch of things you definitely don’t need for two weeks 

“Y/n! You *have* to bring your favorite pillow!” Ken insists, pushing it towards you.

You take it in your hands and let out a soft laugh at his antics. He’s so worried about you, and you haven’t even left yet. It’s honestly adorable.

“The places I’m staying at have pillows, love. I’ll be fine.” You reply, your tone affectionate as you delicately set the pillow down.

“But what if they’re not as comfy? Then you won’t be able to sleep, so you might not be able to do work as well! And then you’ll get upset!” Ken persists in his actions, picking the pillow up again and hugging it to his chest. “Just take it, it’ll make me feel better. Please.”

How could you say no to that? Reluctantly, you pack the pillow in your suitcase, looking up to see a much less stressed out boyfriend. 

“Okay, fine. Happy?” 

“Very!” He says, smiling before he gets an idea. “While you’re at it, maybe you should bring this stuffed animal for luck.” 

To your dismay, he holds up his favorite horse plush. His expression is so innocent and caring. It takes practically all of your willpower, but you manage to go without packing it.

You found that horse in your suitcase while on your trip

The next day, he insists on going with you to the airport, and he calls a taxi early in the morning for you two to get there

Ken doesn’t even let you NEAR your suitcase. He pulls it for you all the way to security

When its finally time for you to leave, he gets all teary eyed

Pulls you into a bone crushing hug.

“Call me as soon as you land, okay?” Ken says through sniffles, burying his head in your shoulder. 

“I will. Promise.” You back away from the gif long enough to press a kiss to his cheek. “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. And we can call every day.”

Ken nods at that, blinking rapidly to try and stop the tears from really spilling down. He gives you a little smile, incredibly proud of you even though you have to be away from him. The noise of the bustling airport around you seems to draw you out of your sweet moment.

Teary goodbyes

He gives you a nice, long kiss on the lips before he lets go of you

When you finally go through security and he can’t see you anymore, he goes back home and texts you a ‘Safe flight!!! Love you so much!!’

You text him when you land, as promised, and he lets out a breath of relief

While you’re away, Ken is basically texting you all the time

Every time he sees something that remind him of you or he thought you might enjoy, he sends you a picture.

You answer him as soon as you have time too

And every day after work, you call him to catch up

He always picks up on the first ring with a “Y/n! I miss you :(“

If you’re in different time zones, he’ll definitely stay awake until unreasonable hours to talk to you

Until you make him hang up and go to bed

BUT if you have a rough at and tell him about it he will absolutely refuse to go to sleep until he knows you’re feeling better 

He hates not being able to comfort you in person :((

Ken makes plans to pick you up when you land back home from your trip, but he can’t drive, so he calls a taxi again

You barely see Ken before he runs and hugs you, ignoring the weird looks he’s getting from the other people in the airport

He takes all your bags to the taxi and then sits next to you in the backseat, clinging onto your hand

Once you get home, he insists on you resting 

“Ken, I should really unpack a little-“ You start as he practically pushes you into your room.

“No, you have to sleep! You were on a plane today. Get some rest. I’ll unpack. Then we can cuddle!” He says with a tone that sounds like he doesn’t plan on budging in his stance.

He keeps his promise

Ken unpacks all your bags as best as he can, putting things away correctly for the most part

Then, he joins you in the bed, grabbing you around you waist and kissing your forehead

Lots of ‘I love you’s 

He falls asleep with you, excited to hear about your trip more in the morning

Kendall leaves you unattended at the underground club. He says he has deals to claim and that he has things to work out, it is something you are uninterested in. You didn’t come to the club to talk business and money, that isn’t your thing, it’s Kendall’s thing. You let him do all the talking and you just stood by his side or waited for him back in the penthouse. Though you aren’t too familiar with the business terms and life, you do have a smart mind, you are good at manipulating people and that is one of the reasons why Kendall admired you so quickly. You always are a part of helping him get what he wants from people most of the time.

He first met you three months ago. Crazy enough, he had met you at his ex-wife's birthday. You figured out that Kendall was only invited to the get-together mostly because his kids wanted him to be there and Rava wanted him to be there for the kids. You had met Rava through work and that’s how you got the invitation. You are exactly Kendall’s type. At the party, you were exactly what Kendall needed. It was fucked up for him to flirt with his ex-wife’s coworker and friend, and it was fucked up that you flirted with her ex-husband, but you both ended up naked in Kendall’s bed after the party had ended.

Ever since that party, you two have been together. Kendall claims that he can’t get enough of you and that he needs you both for pleasure and for your smart mind. You help Kendall get what he wants and help him win arguments and business deals because you like to see Kendall happy, but you also like to watch him get what he wants as it turns you on. When Kendall gets what he wants, his personality changes and his ego gets higher. When he gets what he wants, the two of you fuck like rabbits.

When he loses, there’s a fifty-fifty. Kendall is either really low and acts like a small child. Or he gets angry and stressed, complaining and telling you how everyone is wrong, that he’s worked so hard, and that he knows what’s right. When he gets like this, you usually let him do whatever he wants. You help him with his stress by allowing him to take it out all on you when you fuck. Of course, he’s not too rough with you as he still loves you and doesn’t want to hurt you, but sometimes when he is stressed, he can’t hold back anything.

You’ve been sitting on one of the club’s couches without Ken for about fifteen minutes when he comes back. He’s angered and you can tell, you know that whatever deal he was wanting didn’t work out. He trudges over to you and sits down next to you.

“Deals fucked. Whatever, her and her bjork type shit can fuck off. I don’t need it.” You hand him the glass that’s got a bit of alcohol left in it and he drinks it all then wipes his lips with the back of his hand, “I need coke.”

“Kendall, you said you weren’t going to get that fucked up tonight.”

“Yeah, that was before I figured out that the deal is fucked.”

“Where’s Stewy, did you talk to Stewy yet?”

“Yeah, he’s annoying me too. And fucking Roman, fuckin’ whining at me about some stupid game we played as kids. Like, why does it even fucking matter? We were kids, kids do weird shit.”

“If everyone’s just being a bitch to you, why don’t we just leave?” You put a hand on Kendall’s back. You want to leave because you don’t want him to have to deal with any more bullshit, but you also want to leave because you have been desperate for his hands to be on you ever since the car ride here.

“No, not yet, I want coke. I’ll take a line or two then I’ll take you home with me.” You know there is no backing Kendall out of getting that white powder, when Kendall is upset and he wants something, he’ll get it.

Eventually Kendall is able to find some and you watch him cut two lines before he leans down and inhales both. He leans back on the couch and lets the coke sit in his system for a minute, “Fuck yeah, that’s good.”

“Kendall-”

“Let’s get the fuck out of here.”

He takes your hand and pulls you behind him through the crowd. He is eager to get home now. As he continues to pull you out of the club, he calls Fikret to come and pick you up. Fikret is not far, you only have to wait about five minutes.

You wait outside of the tunnel where the club was and it is now dark outside. As you wait, Kendall continues to grumble about everything and you just let him talk before you soon interrupt him, “Can we please fuck when we get back?”

He stops talking, looks at you, then grins slightly, “What, is this turning you on, me getting all pissed off like this?”

“I don’t know, maybe a little.”

“Well, if it’s turning you on, can I please continue?”

“Yeah, fine, go ahead.”

He doesn’t continue though, he just asks you another question, “What about it turns you on? I don’t think I’ve ever been with someone who gets off with me being angry. I’m not judging though, I mean, it’s strange but also kind of hot.”

“I don’t know how to explain it really. What makes it hot for you?”

“I think it’s the fact that you get aroused when I’m like this. Other tell me I’m fucking stupid or something, but you like it. You let me say what I want and do what I want.”

“It’s because I know that you know what’s best in things.”

“Yeah?”

Maybe sometimes Kendall’s ideas weren’t always very smart or well thought out, but you knew that he loves it when people tell him that he’s good. He likes to be praised and knows that he is the best.

“Yes Kendall.”

“When we get back, I’m going to fuck you on the couch, right by the big fucking window so everyone of New York can see. Is that something up your alley?”

You smile, “Let them watch.”

He smiles too and that’s when Fikret drives in and stops a few feet ahead of you. “Let’s go put on a show then.” Kendall says and leads you to the car by putting a hand on your back.

During the car ride, Kendall tells Fikret to turn the bass of the music up. Kendall is now feeling good. He is ignoring everything that had just gone to shit and the coke helps him ignore it. All that interests him now is getting to be alone with you because he knows that he could have you any way he wanted. He can control you and you will let him.

When you get to the penthouse, you are both chuckling and horny for each other. He leads you over to the couch that sat just a couple feet away from the large window. The couch is in the shape of a longer, wide coffee table. It has no backrest, it’s just flat, it is more like a comfy bench.

Kendall grins as he pulls your dress up above your hips, “We can let people watch, but they don’t get to see your body. He motions for you to lie on the flat bench and you do so. He takes off your panties before he takes off his jacket and undoes his pants.

The penthouse was pretty high up, so no one from the streets would be able to see you, but all the people in the building across the way could if they were to look out the window and into the penthouse.

“You’re the only one who gets me, yeah? The only one that understands.”

“Yes.”

“You agree that everyone at that club was in the wrong?”

“Yes, Kendall.”

“Tell me that I’m the real winner, that I deserve it.”

“You deserve it Kendall, you deserve the crown.”

He strokes himself and closes his eyes for a moment before breathing out, “That’s fucking right.” He then puts your ankles on his shoulders, “They just don’t understand.” He thrusts forward roughly, making you take all of him. He doesn’t pause or slow down his movements; when Kendall is upset, he doesn’t stop until he is satisfied.

As you let him fuck you, you turn your head to look out into the city. You never thought that you’d be here, looking out at the New York city lights while letting the rich Kendall Roy fuck you in his

penthouse. It is like a dream.

Honestly the joke with the new Barbie movie is the fact that its core message is just such a lukewarm take. It could be boiled down to "Women sometimes face hardships because they are women and men hold power over them. Sad emoji." and yet this was enough to majorly piss people (men) off. Which would be absolutely hilarious if it weren't just so sad.

Like, we have two problems here. One is that man = default. Men are so used to everything catering to them, that they honestly saw a movie titled BARBIE directed by a woman, starring a woman as the titular character, a movie adaptation based around dolls famous for marketing to women, a doll line whose pathetic male-bodied doll was always treated as an accessory sold separately to the female-bodied Barbies, who was always "the boyfriend of Barbie". But because it's a movie, movies are expected to cater to men, right? Because it's cinematography, because it's for adult, mature, refined (male) audiences, it should cater to them, right? And all the pink and all the "he's just Ken" and all the most girliest marketing this movie sent out did not manage to make them think "Hey, I think this movie is for women". No, instead, they said, "Why didn't this movie about a doll line for girls cater to me, an adult man, enough?" You saw it with movies like Star Wars (the one that introduced Rey idk i don't follow sw) and Captain Marvel, but I could even excuse it there. Because it's cool space samurais and it's comic book superheroes - media traditionally marketed to men. Sure, I could see them getting all hormonal and hysterical about a girl?!?!?!?!?@?@?!??@ in THEIR manly men doing manly men things movie?!?!?!?!?!?! and she's NOT just a love interest or damsel in distress or someone's tragic backstory?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!? whadda hell. But Barbie... Barbie? Are girls not even allowed Barbie anymore? What I'm saying is, the first problem is that men are so used to being catered to, that a movie that doesn't even act like it's catering to them got them so upset, because how dare everything not keep them in mind? Right.

As I very cleverly inserted the topic above, female characters in cinema are so often shown as one of three things: a love interest, a damsel in distress, someone's tragic backstory. That's all you got. Oftentimes, movies will critically miss female characters At All (lord of the rings lol), and this is something normal and realistic. In Barbie, first thing you notice is that every major character is a woman. Barbie, Sasha, Sasha's mom (forgot her name, but she IS named, this is important), the many other Barbies who carry the plot in the climax, and so on. Background characters in Barbie Land (why didn't they name is Barbie World...)? Also women. There is a lack of men in this movie, and it hurts their egos soooo bad it's honestly beyond pathetic. Who are your male characters? A handful of Kens. The main Ken is the only one who has some sort of impact on the plot. Allen is comedic relief. The Mattel board guys are comedic relief. Sasha's dad (who i'm pretty sure is unnamed) shows up for two scenes. As comedic relief. They're all irrelevant save for beach Ken.

The second problem is just how absolutely lukewarm the feminism in the Barbie movie is, and despite that, men are treating it like it said women should start castrating men for looking at them wrong. I've seen posts on here talk about it - Barbie also says "the patriarchy hurts men, too" unironically. Could you hold men's hands any more? (In this way, even Barbie is a movie that actually did cater to men. That actually did try to speak to them, too. Because Ken's growth is almost given a bigger spotlight than Barbie's, but whatevs). Barbie's take was that men still oppress women, but just hide it better. That's it. That's enough to anger men worldwide, apparently.

It was just so simple and so stupid in its simplicity. Barbie World is ruled by the Barbies (women). Every night is girls' night. Ken's feelings are hurt because the girl he likes doesn't like him back (a male character whose entire character revolves around the female character he likes - how bout that!). Barbie gets all fucky-wucky and has to go to the real world. She feels objectified and unsafe because men keep leering at her (omg guys did you know... women........ get harassed sometimes😱). Ken feels respected for the first time in his life. Shenanigans happen, Ken goes back, Barbie stays and then goes back. Ken invented the patriarchy in Barbie World. Everything sucks !!! The Barbies take advantage of the fact that men get jealous and possessive over women to distract them so they can reinstate the matriarchy. Barbie goes "um but wait, we were mean... let's be equal :)" etc etc. Tongue in cheek "Kens will have as much power as women in the real world do :)" line. The end.

Sasha? Let's talk about Sasha. Sasha is the Gen Z. You know this because she uses buzzwords. She is, like, the opposite end of the feminism. Or something, she's a bit more radical. She hates Barbie bc of the body image problems, she calls her a fascist and a bimbo, she tells her dad he's doing cultural appropriation by learning Spanish, and she's also shown as a hypocrite because she calls Barbie a nutjob before very quickly correcting herself to say something that sounds more, quotation marks, politically correct. (I think it was "reality-challenged", i wanna emphasise that this really is buzzwords). What I'm saying is, a character that has more radical views than "we should all just get along" is shown as bad for having such views. Its core message is not just lukewarm, it is actively saying, "Don't be radical like lil ol' Sasha, bc that's her character flaw! Let's all get along!".

And this, one movie that flipped the script on them while still keeping up a semblance of catering to men and going "oh, but we're not like those fun-hating women who actually want to be free from the patriarchy, we just want equality", hurt them bad enough that they're writing think pieces about how Barbie is killing traditional values and making women stray. You show men the most castrated and marketable form of quasi-feminism, and they still fight it kicking and screaming.

I don't know where I was going with this. I have no conclusion. Barbie made me laugh a lot, I enjoyed it. The feminism message was somehow both hamfisted and very much limited to "let's acknowledge the daily lives of women". Ken had an entire growth arc about learning to be his own person instead of only Barbie's pursedog (when do you see a female character get that growth...). And it still made men angry. There have been breakups over this movie. You know what I mean? It's all just so meaningless to try and get them to understand.

I feel like Barbie would develop a passion for gardening in the real world

Part of that is me projecting my own discovery of loving gardening this year but

There's a lot of imagery in the movie that supports this for me. All of the plastic, static plants in barbie land that can be exchanged but never go through their life cycles. She's upset when ken destroys one of her plants.

When she's first looking at the real world, there's a longer panning shot on her view of the breeze rustling through the park trees.

The heavenly light shining in through Ruth's kitchen window to create the warm and homey atmosphere hilights her window box plants.

I think gardening is a great option for Barbie to safely explore at home in the real world where she can experiment, learn, and be rewarded. Watching the cycles of plant life, death, propagation, harvest, perennial resurrection. . . Seeing how interconnected companion planting and pollinators are. . .

Plants are seemingly static and overlooked (like the dolls), yet are very much alive. There are so many parallels she would learn from her new experiences in the real world and the garden.

Trying to preserve a plant she's cared for as long as she can, until she ultimately must accept that every cycle has its season, and different flowers and vegetables run on different life spans.

Falling in love with every kind and getting too many seeds and transplants, then becoming overwhelmed. Learning to focus her care. Sharing tasks in the garden with loved ones, making memories.

Going from a world without water to a very hot climate that requires excessive watering care. Watching a dry seed hydrate into a plump fruit over months of watering.

I know this will sound harsh, but this is entirely my own opinion and I don’t want people to get me wrong about it. But after watching and rewatching 02 again and again I’ve come to realize one thing:

Daisuke never had romantic feelings for ANYONE in 02. That’s it, that’s my biggest personal hot take and you know that I’ve been shipping Daisuke romantically with Miyako, Takeru, Wallace, Hikari and Ken from time-to-time. But why do I say this? Well, this is just my feeling that Daisuke is too young to care about romance. He’s just 10-to-11 years old in 02. And if you check what Daisuke’s goals with Hikari are – none of them involves becoming her boyfriend.

Yes, we get him to be protective over her in the first set of episodes, then he just steps back from that wary behavior towards Takeru when he learns how Takeru and Hikari know each other, and then starts just focusing on trying to become closer to her. And by ep 22, the one he wants her to notice him, he’s not even upset about her relationship with Takeru. He’s only sad that he does not have a strong bond with her.

Then, MenAS has him only want chocolate from the girls – there’s no Hikari mention at all. Yet, I don’t think he ever thought of dating someone else. In which I believe he’s still not ready for romantic relationships yet.

Talking with a friend years ago, about the Kizuna content and 02 series + its side-material, made us realize the BIGGEST ENEMY DAISUKE HAS IS… Himself. Yeah, he’s not the kind to be self-confident enough – If we use Hikari as our only “canon romantic interest” as an example… He tries to impress her too hard, he’s always trying to hide such a crush on her and believes he’s good at hiding it (except everyone in the room knows, including Hikari herself) – he basically does not notice he could succeed IF he just acted normally.

In which we saw it happening in Kizuna’s drama CD. 

And the result? He just froze the moment Hikari admitted she found his dedication for pursuing his dreams a cool thing. That’s it folks. The biggest proof that Daisuke might not have thought beyond this. Because he himself doesn’t think he would ever get there.

And remember: He’s not the type to overthink, or start plotting his entire future and start panicking about every single outcome that could lead him. Daisuke basically does not waste his time worrying about what will happen in the future, therefore he does not know what he will do IF he succeeds or not.

Might say this could be the same scenario for every Daisuke → [character] ship, in my honest and sincere opinion. Because Daisuke is not assertive enough and since he’s quite humble he might not believe he would have his feelings reciprocated. And the funny-yet-sad part is if it is the other way ([character] → Daisuke), Daisuke’s too dense that he might not realize someone likes him back and might only finally notice it if you get straight into the point.

Again, this is how I see his romantic relationships and such. I don’t want anyone coming to argue with me, therefore this post is unrebloggable.

A writing practice based on a server im on

(before this, small thing, were all friends and no one was like (to my knowledge) legitimately upset by this stuff, this is also a dramatization of the events) This is also a writing practace because im not the best at writing so lmk if you have any suggestions :D I'll add a link when i write more

I (SedraMoon) won (and lost) the Roosle server war, heres how.... I was just the average player, getting a base, material's, making allies and enemies, when the owner of the server started streaming. Everyone on this server are friends (even though its public, its pretty small) So i know the owner (I watched his streams before he even made the server) and he was just doing normal stuff. He was trying to find the end portal (which other people had already done) but he said it was for the experience. He struggled, a lot, so i offered to message our friend, Kenobi, who i knew had found the portal. The owner, Roosle, then said that Ken being on was the last thing he wanted which was...weird but i ignored it Eventually Roosle gave up and asked a friend to teleport him to the end (we have add-ons, that will be important later) Then he flew over to Kenobis enderman farm, i assumed he was gonna use it until he puled out tnt and blew parts of it up. It was on Twitch so i clipped it and sent it to Ken. I informed Roosle what i had done but my twitch glitched out and i couldnt hear if he responded. When i got back he was ending stream and said he would be in the servers vc if anyone wanted to talk. I joined and he called me a snitch, saying that theres no way i actually told Ken, to prove him wrong i sent a screenshot of the messages. I am a business person, I value money and i value my deals, so when he threatened to end our business partnership i had to think. I offered to delete to messages, Ken hadnt responded yet so he probably hadnt even see them and that got Roosle to agree to consider not destroying our partnership if i did so.

I deleted the messages and sent another screenshot, we spoke for a little while and Roosle admitted he just did it to make the server more interesting since the events he was hosting were kinda flops (though they were really fun). Later on, Ken joined the call as well, This is when i had a moral dilemma, do i tell Kenobi and risk destroying my partnership? Ken would never know i knew who did it (unless he went and found the stream) but my morals shone through. So i sent Kenobi a mesage, telling him not to say anything outloud but his farm was blown up, i sent him the clip and he decided to pretend that he just noticed what happened to the farm.

Roosle started lying out of his ass, It was honestly kinda funny to watch, Ken started dropping hints that he knew Roosle did it. Roosle messaged me on the server, saying that he knew i told him, which i denied of course.

Eventually Ken just out right asked him if he did it, telling Roosle that he knew it was him several times before Roosle finally admitted to doing it. A few other people were in call (all of which i informed of the situation privately)

Ken threatened Roosle and said he would come back in half an hour before leaving call. We joked about how he would destroy Roosles base (which he couldnt really do since we have a claim system on the server) before realizing he was afk. When he finally came back, he declared war.

A young [h/c]-haired female sang the first few lines of the song, her hand making a fist as if holding an invisible microphone. The booming music of the song echoed throughout the whole mansion. She had her lids shut tight and mouth still agape while screaming/echoing the last word of the song.

When the beat dropped, she instantly did a head-bang and continued to have a concert in the living room of her mansion.

[Y/n] continued to move and dance according to the lyrics of the song, waving her arms up and down, swaying along with the beat, twirling around, or just randomly moving all about. She pranced around the large space, careless about whether she'd cause injury to herself or break some furniture. Even the music was booming from the stereo and it's a miracle that no one even notices her or scolds her for that. And even more, it's truly surprising that [Y/n] didn't have an ear bleed yet.

"Huh? Is that [Y/n]-chan?" a blonde food soul noticed a mop of [h/c] bouncing in the living room, he wasn't sure since he couldn't see her face due to her short stature.

The male entered the living room and had to cover his ears once he took a step into her territory. He walked around the couch just to make sure that it was his master attendant who was singing in the middle of the room. And to make sure to stop the music or just decrease its volume. Sure enough, the small girl who was dancing was his master attendant.

The journey toward the stereo was challenging since he was getting closer and closer to the source of the booming sound. Fortunately enough, he was able to turn the volume down without making his ear bleed. The blonde sighed in relief afterward.

"Eh? What happened?" [Y/n] asked herself, surprised and confused as to why the music had stopped. However, when she turned around to check the stereo, she saw a tall blonde instead. "Pi-chan?"

"Sorry~ Your music is too loud and I feared that you might hurt your ear," Pizza apologized, rubbing his cheeks sheepishly.

The girl pouted slightly. She was upset that Pizza stopped her small shenanigans. Since most of her food souls were either working at the restaurant, running an errand, or just having their free time, she thought that she could hog the mansion all to herself. After all, nothing was interesting happening and she was bored to death. This is one way to release the stress of everyday life and have a fun time alone. However, she can't be angry at the male since he's concerned about her well-being and it is also his responsibility to watch over her.

"So... What brings you here, Pi-chan?" she asked, wiping her face with a towel.

Pizza slumped on the loveseat and pouted. "Cassata said that he had an errand to do and Cheese was currently serving a VIP customer at the restaurant balcony. So I decided to come home instead to play games."

[Y/n] can't help but chuckle at the male's childish behavior. It reminds her of the times when she would act as an older sister to this child. Pizza continued to stare blankly at the marble floor. The [h/c]ette glanced back at the television set and her [e/c] eyes trailed down to the storage cabinet underneath the flat-screen television. An idea popped into her head while sporting a bright smile.

"Hey, Pi-chan," she called, glancing back at the male.

"Hm? What is it, [Y/n]-chan?" he asked, his attention focused on her.

"Since you've disrupted my mini-concert and you have nothing else to do, how about we sing karaoke instead?"

"Huh?" golden brows creased up in utter confusion.

"It seems that you don't know what karaoke is, do you?" the girl chuckled.

"No," Pizza shook his head and looked up at her, oceanic hues contained excitement. "Please tell me what it is!"

The teen instructed Pizza to help her set up the karaoke while explaining to him the activity that they'd be doing. After that, [Y/n] turned the television on and handed the mic to the older male. She waited for the program to start and occasionally watched the male beside her. She noticed his curiosity and innocence though nervous since he was still new to this kind of thing. As the music boomed through the speaker, indicating that the karaoke could now start, Pizza shrieked in surprise. He instinctively jumped onto the girl, trying to find a scarf to hold on to though when he didn't, he just buried his face in her arms.

[Y/n] burst out laughing at the scene unfold and tried her best to soothe the trembling blonde by caressing his golden locks. "No need to be jumpy, Pi-chan. It's just the opening sounds."

Pizza carefully removed himself from his master attendant while calming himself down. However, it only proved futile when he could feel his racing heart due to the embarrassment of clinging to his attendant like that. He then held the mic with both of his hands and thought of something else. After ensuring that the male was okay, [Y/n] then proceeded to input her selected song into the karaoke.

Before she hit the play button, she first turned to Pizza and then smirked. "The first line is yours. Good luck on catching up with me~"

The music then started and a familiar tune of piano playing was heard. Pizza immediately recognized the song and internally panicked when the countdown started. He replayed the tune from earlier in his head and tried to sing the lyrics correctly.

[Y/n] was surprised that Pizza was able to catch up with the tune of the lyrics and sing it correctly, though what amazed her was his wonderful singing voice. It makes her wanna stop singing and just hear his voice instead. Though she knew that she couldn't do that. They boomed through the chorus and the girl could see the incitement in the blonde's eyes.

The duo continued until the end of the song and they both panted like crazy due to singing their lungs out. They waited for the screen to change and once it did, their eyes were glued to the television, anticipating to know what their score was. The digits rocketed from zero until...

"100!" they both cheered after seeing their scores. A sign appeared on the screen saying 'congratulations' and a tune to go along with it.

Instinctively, Pizza lifted the [h/c]ette off the ground and hugged her. His arms wrapped around her thigh and his cheeks rubbed her stomach. At first, [Y/n] was surprised by the act and it made her emit a cute squeal. Her face was blushing but it didn't stop her excitement and laughter. Both exchanged waves of laughter and giggles as they stayed in that position for a while. Then after, [Y/n] let go of the blonde. The silence was interrupted when claps entered their hearing. Their head swiftly turned to the source of the sound and who they saw stupefied them.

"My, my~ What an intriguing sight. Right, Cheese?" Cassata snickered, placing his hand on his waist.

"You're right, Cassata. I can't even imagine Pizza singing, yet here he is, singing a duet with [Y/n]-chan," the mouse maiden added.

It felt like the entire room was holding its breath as they waited for Fuuka Yamagishi’s answer. All eyes were on the team’s ever growing fae girl. She herself was waiting with bated breath with her cellphone pressed to her ear. Eventually, Fuuka’s face fell, disappointment taking it over. Her next words were quiet, and Aigis dared not to listen in. She had a feeling that she already knew what was going to happen. Fuuka hung up, turning back to the others with a softly forced smile.

“Yukari-chan’s not coming after all,” she said, her voice doing nothing to hide what she was truly feeling. Just like the rest of them, she was upset and disappointed that yet another member of their team had failed to show up.

“What about Sanada-san?” asked Ken Amada, the werewolf boy sitting on the edge of the sofa with his hands firmly clasped on his knees. From beside him, a more laxed Shinjiro Aragaki leaned back against the cushions, nearly exasperated and exhausted.

“He said he was busy at the gym,” Shinjiro said bluntly to his fellow werewolf. “So I doubt he’ll show up either.”

From behind him, Junpei Iori’s draconic red-black wings flared with irritation. “What’s with those two?” the half-dragon said with a bit of a hiss. “The dorm’s closing today! You’d think that they’d come to see it off with all the memories that we have here… …Right?” No one could find the right words to answer him. Koromaru whimpered beside him, nuzzling Junpei’s leg in an effort to get him to relax a little.

“It can’t be helped,” said Mitsuru Kirijo, the vampiric redhead surprisingly calm for the situation that they had before them. “Things are starting to change, and I can hardly blame them for being busy. I seem to be getting busier and busier myself…” That had been due to her fully taking control of the Kirijo Group following graduation. Aigis was unsure exactly as to why Yukari and Akihiko had begun pulling away and isolating themselves the way that they had. Although… 

Recalling more recent events, Aigis was fairly certain that she could figure out exactly what happened to trigger their strange actions. Quiet fell amongst the group for a moment. Eventually Shinjiro shifted, softly groaning to himself as he sat up properly.

“...where’s Ryoji?” he asked, a hand lightly resting on his side. “Has anyone been able to get in contact with him? Out of everyone, I thought he’d do what he could to make it.”

Junpei let out a sigh, leaning back on his heel. “He’s at the hospital again, so I don’t think we’ll be seeing him unless it’s an emergency. Even then, I don’t think he’ll come.” It was the mention of the hospital that caused an uncomfortable silence to follow, one which Junpei quickly sought out to break with a nervous laugh. “It’s kind of funny. For a guy so scared of hospitals, he’s been spending all his free time down there with Kotone’s mom. She’s been doing everything that she could to heal those two, but…”

But it wasn’t accomplishing anything. Their eyes still remained shut, their minds trapped in what Aigis suspected was nothing more than a dreamless sleep that with each passing day seemed impossible to awaken them from.

“Isn’t that really difficult?” Ken asked. “Healing spells, I mean.”

Junpei shrugged. “Anything to save her family, I guess she’ll do it.”

“She’s been making some progress,” said Fuuka, attempting to bring a little bit of hope into their hearts and their conversation.

“But it might take years to master the spell we need if there even is one.” The smile that Fuuka had been keeping finally deflated. Junpei sighed, pulling the brim of his cap down over his eyes. “I don’t think we have years. Right now, I swear, those two are on magical life support and Ryoji doesn’t want to believe it.”

Aigis finally found her voice. “I believe that he is right not to. They will be fine. I think that they will be.”

“Look, if the doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with them, then what could magic do?” brought up Shinjiro in a counterargument. “They just… fell asleep. Like always. The next thing you know, it was impossible to get them to wake up at all.” 

A bout of silence fell again. Aigis could still clearly recall what had happened. They had all gathered up on the rooftop following graduation a few weeks ago. Minato Arisato and Kotone Shiomi had been exhausted that morning and the days before. So, when the two of them fell asleep up there, the rest of the team decided to let them have their rest. What was a celebration of their nigh impossible feat becoming possible quickly turned into a panicked situation when it was time to leave. No matter what they did, their friends would not awaken.

And now, Minato and Kotone were silently asleep in Tatsumi Memorial Hospital, constantly under the watchful eye of the Kirijo Group’s own physicians in case anything changed. It had been over two weeks. They had remained still, silently asleep as if they had not a single thing to worry about. Meanwhile, they had left their friends and family plenty to be concerned with.

🍷: Why, just this afternoon I had 2/3 of a bottle of wine and solved one of my scene transition woes! I don't always drink and write, but when I do, it goes well for me. It actually solves a common typing woe of mine, which is that my left hand types faster than my right so I waste fewer time having to correct my typos.

❌: I have a hard time ruling tropes out entirely, because it turns out that one of my least favorite to read (Poor Communication Kills) is actually quite fun to put characters through. Plus, there are ways to make it work well. That said, I think I can safely say I won't be doing any Liar Revealed stories because that kind of thing just has too much... tension I guess? Like, I don't want the character's lie to spiral further out of control, I want the character to be honest before it gets to that point. Reading it kinda makes me feel like *I'm* gonna get in trouble for their lie.

👀: Hm... well, a WIP that I haven't started posting yet is a Digimon 02 AU in which Yolei and Cody pick up the opposite DigiEggs and a few different paths are taken because of this. It's turning out far more canon-divergent than I thought it would thus far but it's kinda fun to not constantly be trying to make sure stuff is technically still complying with the show. An example of something that's changed: I'm leaning far more into characterizing Ken as a gamer who just doesn't understand that Digimon are real and his actions have consequences. That is canon, but let's just say Ken's actions lean far more evil than they do uninformed. Nah, Ken just thinks he's in Pokémon.

🤩: My favorite character to write that isn't an OC is TK Takaishi from Digimon. Canon really doesn't take much time to explore his trauma from the first adventure so I sure as heck am gonna. Plus his relationships with everybody else are interesting.

😬: Oh ho ho! I previously mentioned the fic I'm most embarrassed by, which would definitely be the worst for my friends to stumble onto, but they know I write fic so they'd just be like "this sure was a choice y'all made, huh".

My family, on the other hand... I think my dad might know I write fic? It's always really hard to tell with him. I really, really don't want them to find Redacted. Dad would probably enjoy it, actually, but Mom would be very upset by things like swears, the POV character's relationship with her mother (which... yeah, has a bit of basis in reality), and most of all by the fact that I'm not either monetizing my writing or spending the time on more worthwhile pursuits like additional schooling.

(My partner knows I write fic, knows my screenname, but won't look it up which I appreciate because I don't wanna get dunked on for life imitating art ((accidentally made a couple with our mutual pining issues and basically our dynamic years before meeting him)) or for one specific fic me and Em wrote as a teenager...)

...The Adventures of Mary Sue, a fic which would be the most embarrassing thing for my co-workers to find. I would die. We found a fic called How to Make a Very Suckish SYOT and decided to follow its instructions to the letter, and those parts are honestly still funny, but we included holiday specials because we felt guilty over not updating and... yeah. The best thing I can say about those chapters is that one of them got me $20 from my ex-gf for writing something, quote, "worse than My Immortal". My co-workers, fortunately, are all older than me by a significant margin and the one person who isn't would never look for fic, but I can't guarantee they'll never see my account still up on my laptop if I forget to close it before going out on a call, so that's one of my current worst work fears.

🎶: I sure do listen to music! Normally it's my writing playlist or one of my playlists that fits the vibes of the scene I'm working on. Lately I've been listening to 21st Century Breakdown (the album) by Green Day on loop when I feel like looping something because Bowling for Soup was right, I really do be listening to the same shit I listened to in high school.
