But with tnmn fandom it’s a bit… different

Maybe I’m biased and it’s just my negative experience with tiktok comments

So I was expecting the backlash, but not that much

I think maybe tsp fandom spoiled me a bit (in a good way), bc I got a feeling that everyone in tsp was positive of any lgbt+ headcanons and just generally more supportive

(don’t get me wrong, there ARE problems in tsp community too, taking narrators design controversy into account as one of the examples)

Obviously every fandom always has it’s own issues, show me at least one fandom that didn’t have some sort of meaningless controversy or some sort of problematic people in it

But it leaves a bad taste in your mouth sometimes

And for me personally it only added to not so pleasant experience

The thing I also noticed, when I interacted with other fandoms

Ppl wrote positive stuff first and foremost, not really asking for anything

Here it’s just “hey more. I want more. Do more. Do this character. Do this. Do more.”

The only reason I kept doing more, because likes, reblogs, views – these comics get a ton of attention

there is a audience to please alright

This post seems pretty innocent, but if you look through the notes and OP's blog, it becomes evident that this post is operating under the assumption that Jews are inherently right-wing, or that converts to Judaism are "victims" of a "zionist agenda" "disguising itself as leftist" (sound familiar?).

Like, what these people seem to not understand is that

Religion isn't a synonym for xtianity. Just because you think that xtianity is inherently right wing (spoiler alert, it isn't) and that you associate the word "religion" with cultural xtianity doesn't mean that Judaism or the Jewish community shares any negative aspects of cultural xtianity or the xtian community that you are thinking of. The idea that converts to Judaism only want to convert because they want "xtianity without the bad stuff" is very insulting, antisemitic, and supersessionist.

Converts are able to have just as complex and deep of a relationship with Judaism as those who were born into it, and converts are equal with Jews from birth under Jewish law. Like, just because someone is trans/leftist and converting to Judaism doesn't mean that they just want to convert to Judaism because it's trans-accepting (which is true for the vast majority of Jewish communities). Many trans converts and people converting do often point out that some Jewish traditions can be expressed in transphobic ways, but that doesn't make Judaism transphobic as a whole, that just means that they present a challenge for trans Jews, and a discussion to be had within the Jewish community, without the influence of gentiles. Because I haven't fully converted yet, I too need to recognize when my opinion is not wanted or needed, so I find it insulting when gentiles with no connection to Judaism disregard Jewish law and tradition entirely to make highly generalized, incorrect statements about Jewish theology and practice. It's also offensive to imply that a queer or trans gentile specifically cannot have a connection to Judaism beyond believing that it's inherently leftist. Some people have heritage (hi, the only reason I'm not already Jewish right now is because my grandfather was forced to give up his Jewish community with the threat of being sent to a death camp in Siberia), some people have participated in the community for years, and some people enjoy Jewish theology! All of these are perfectly valid reasons to convert, and why should it be up to random gentiles to decide they aren't?

Honestly, I'm having a very difficult time right now. Many problems and anxieties are building up all at once. Something I'm really scared about is talking to a transphobic family member later today. My mom wants us to "work it out" and I don't want to lose them entirely, so I'm just going to give it a try and see what happens (anticipating the worst, hoping for the best). Things have been complicated with name change stuff as well. Although it officially went through, I'm having issues with the various other documents I now need to correct. I move literally next Monday, halfway across the country, so all of these things need to be done ASAP. It's terrifying, and I am horribly riddled with anxiety. But I'm still here.

Posting has been low-key keeping me sane at times, especially putting my focus into making those subtle worship posts. It gives me something else to focus on when I'm unable to work towards a specific goal. But I'm still not posting as frequently because I've been busy. The most I've been doing lately is answering asks. Even that can be difficult to keep up with at times, although I genuinely enjoy it.

Hello there!

I really like your headcanons on Vox and I have far too many myself! One of my biggest is that he’s trans, but more specifically that both Vox and Alastor are trans. So here’s some stuff about them because radiostatic lives rent free in my brain.

Vox’s dead name was Victoria and Alastor’s was Alice.

Vox changed his name to Victor for a short period of time while alive, Alastor just became Alastor rather than Alice.

While Vox is super self conscious, Alastor is just glad he has a dick now.

When dating, these two constantly are supporting each other and hyping the other up on how masculine they are. Not in a toxic way, just them being goofy.

These two knew each other when alive! They both remember each other before and after they transitioned. (Vox had a crush on Alastor even when alive, this man is a simp.)

Even though I like seeing Vox in binders, they both probably got chest surgery very early on. They just like to admire each other’s scars in bed.

Whenever one of them runs into a transphobe they promptly take turns torturing them.

Vox is the type of dude to drag Alastor to pride parades while Alastor complains the entire time, but ends up really enjoying it.

way too many people on here think that. "Media for kids = doesn't have to be quality/can be hot shit".

"It's for kids it doesn't matter", really? I don't want to go on the "kids are smarter than you think" yada yada. So instead I'll take a cabby from III 14. For all you know some kid might try to imitate/say what Bot said to a irl disabled friend of theirs. . And Yes I know you an adult know it's bad, BUT A KID MIGHT NOT!  "They should do their research" their a child! They like III and they might go "Well Bot from III did that and told Cabby to do that and Cabby ended up happy so I'm doing the right thing!" Especially when the media at hand tells them "Hey this is a perfectly okay thing to do". 

If it didn't matter then why were we all demanding II's writers change it? 

If  media for kids isn't important, why do people care about incorrect/stereotypical portrayals of minorities in it? Why should media for kids have episodes about more serious topics?

 (I've been on a scooby kick) Remember that Velma show that was literally made by a transphobe (Which was most likley made to own the left, it's a can of worms. Tldr: show is bad). Well if were going by age rating it should be the creme of the crop for scooby doo media! But it isn't! . Mystery inc (which albeit is Aimed at older kids, I'll give you all that) is regarded by all of the fandom as the best in the franchise. And (in many people's opinion) what's cool scooby doo(Aimed at kids) is the funniest one (even if all the characters look like seth mcfarland drew them, I'm being srs it's funny God watch it) If all media for kids is inferior to media for adults why isn't the fandom obsessed with Velma?

You all whine about how object shows have turned into corporate slop(which is a different argument and a whole other case of worms), but then you go "Oh they're all just meaningless stupid things for kids it's not that serious". 

Oh and don't get me started on how you guys act when it comes to media analysis/Fandom discourse. "It's for kids it's not that serious" Or "it's just a silly show" God forbid people feel emotion about a media that's for a age group younger than them. God forbid they care for something that isn't some "serious" and "important" masterpiece. I've seen people say "there's barely any analysis in the osc" Why should people analise things that are for kids? They're not as deep or Worthwhile as things for adults! 

I'm not saying you can't have object shows as your own fun little "turn my brain off" for a second thing, I'm just saying you all should stop acting like assholes about people who care about this media in a way different from yours. 

Before you go "What's the point it's just fictional". What's the point in any media analysis in that case! So many people cry "the osc has no media literacy/none of you understand the osc deeper" and then they say stuff like this. 

Look if you want to dismiss all fandom discourse go for it, but if your sole argument for that is it being for kids I will turn into the animaniacs reddit mod character 

God I'm sorry If I turned into every middle aged man cartoon reviewer. I'm not saying you can't just ENJOY things from time to time (not having some old guy in a room of action figures scream into my ear "DESPICABLE ME 2 ISN'T A GOOD MOVIE! IT'S NOT A DEEP PEACE OF ART" is nice. 

And I do believe some things can just be fun! I love just a fun Cartoon. But don't act like every single thing that isn't directed towards adults fits into that category. (This all also goes to the people saying I was never good, no one (from my knowledge) was unironically comparing it to Shakespeare. It was just a well written series and you're not ready to accept the fact that something you liked has writing issues. The only reason you're so shocked is because you were watching it as a kid and YOU thought you were watching high class art. But just because it isn't some Masterpiece in writing  mean it doesn't have ANY decent writing. Media dosen't have to be a to be a masterpiece to be worthy of being good. I don't know how to tell you this but enjoying some critically also had the word ENJOY in it, You don't only have to be critical of it because it's not some DaVinci art)

But all I’ll say is, while I agree that not all discussion of Harry Potter or other shitty medias is promotion and we as individuals shouldn’t be held accountable for the actions of a transphobic billionaire, it is still important to approach the subject with nuance and make sure the ways in which we talk about it do not spread harm. I think that’s why so many polls decide to ban it and other medias from their polls, because most of them are designed to find the “best” of something and to insinuate that something from one of those medias can be the best could be harmful. That’s why I’m not gonna post any asks that defend the series as a whole or the franchise as a property, because it’s not right to even humor those who want to downplay transphobia and antisemitism (among others).
