which one of your ocs would fit best in fruba? which ones would thrive? fail?
good question lol. i think masa's a sohma doctor for about three seconds before he gets bored and wanders off into the magic underworld. no reaction or interaction with the plot after that, but he’d be part of shigure’s generation probably.
yrz would be the heir and grand-nephew of the head servant, that old lady who i don’t think ever got a name. (she sucks, because her sister’s child was disowned for becoming an actress and died young. she only took yrz in because of Family Obligation. Shes not a good or warm person.) he’d be expected to take care of the younger zodiac kids. his education is being taken care of so he goes along with it until he’s an adult and then he’s out <3. i think yrz is probably immune to the curse because of his loose hold on his own gender. he doesn’t consider his own gender at all so he doesn’t trigger the curse for female members. it’s a very weird situation but the sohma have taken it to mean that he’s the perfect heir for his grandmother. might actually end up with momichi? he’s only two years older, and one year older than yuki and kyo. the rest of the zodiac, especially the younger ones, defer to and trust him implicitly, not that yrz notices. he’s Satoshi Sohma here. (yrz really likes and respects tohru, and she has a bit of a puppy crush on him lol)
hana, as is normal, has it the worst! she’s akito’s younger twin sister here. Hana, despite not being affected by the zodiac curse, still has the enhanced abilities that it grants. unlike akito, she’s perfectly healthy. she looks like her dad though, so Ren isn’t nearly as hostile and abusive toward her. she’s the younger one, and not part of the zodiac curse, so she isn’t in the running to be head of the family. she’s not forced to cross dress like akito is. her and akito have a -- complicated relationship. hana is intensely attached to akito, thanks to them being together in the womb. She used akito as a solid point that helped her stay sane. she loves akito more than she loves anything or anyone. for akito, hana is a figure of both unconditional love and deep resentment. hana is healthy, free of the curse, talented, and loved by their mother. it’s only hana’s obvious love of akito that lets the two of them get along. akito has so many issues, but she never doubts that hana would pick her over everyone. akito treats hana like a favorite doll and a breakable toy at the same time.

the blorbo-ification of korvin kwan
set in a combo of @vermillioncrown's 'the pros and cons of digging your own grave' and my 'a sunset every hour,' i wrote a scene for verm as gift fic, because i was so affronted by how mean the narrative was to My Boy (korvin) and how much i wanted him to get wrapped in a blanket and also have a dental visit. hence the title--i spiritually adopted him in a hopefully less cracked version of 'you lost the rights to your oc bc you were mean to them.' (we've all seen the screenshots of those posts, right???)
so this is allie finding out that dick grayson has been hiding an entire twelve year-old from her. she is not well pleased lmao.
Allie’s pretty sure that she’s timed Dick’s work schedule correctly, but she’s also willing to wait outside the doorstep of his latest safe house until he arrives and soothes her frazzled nerves about his general state of being.
What Allie is not expecting is for not-Dick to answer the door, and especially she isn’t expecting that someone to be a wavy-haired East Asian boy who opens the door but doesn’t undo the chain lock, peering through the gap between door and frame all squinty-eyed.
“Um,” says Allie, eyes flashing to the 302 on the door, which is exactly the number it should be. “I’m…looking for Dick?”
The evaluative quality of the kid’s stare does not diminish. “You’re too young to be a girlfriend.”
She’s helpless against the instant full-face squinch that sentence causes. “We’re more like mutually adopted siblings,” she hazards, voice tight, and regretful that everything regarding the usage of Dick's name sounds inappropriate for the public, especially under-eighteens.
A pause.
“Mr Richard didn’t tell you he underwent child acquisition,” he observes.
“He didn’t, and he’s going to rue that fact until the day he dies.”
“Sounds like siblings, yeah. You’re Allie, then?”
“He talked about me to you but couldn’t be bothered to mention you to me?” she mutters, mostly to herself.
“I was trying to pretend to not-hear him talk to you on the phone. Not really possible in this shoebox.” Some of the squinting eases. “If you can prove who you are, I can let you in until Mr Richard gets back. Otherwise I’m calling the cops.”
Allie is…impressed by that statement, she's pretty sure. “I haven’t got a driver’s license yet, but I’ve got a learner’s permit and a library card. Sufficient evidence?”
A hand pokes through the gap, fingers making grabby motions. Three minutes later has her standing in the kitchen, shoes and coat off, and peering at the meal prep in progress.
“Korvin,” as she’s been informed is the kid’s name, “I know Dickard’s idea of a good meal is take-out, but what the fuck? Do you seriously have to cook it yourself if you want a vegetable?”
“Mr Richard makes sure I get fed,” is the dodgy reply, and Allie knows what covering for someone you don’t want to get in trouble sounds like. So she decides straightforward is best.
“Look, I love Dick to bits,” she tells Korvin. “But his life is held together by silly string, boyish charm, and Barbara. Fuck,” she realizes, pulling her flip phone from her back pocket. She holds the power button until the screen lights on. “Yeah, hope that freaks them both out and gets him over here tout de suite.” She puts her attention back on Korvin, who is regarding her with similar wariness as when he first opened the door. “My point is, if you’re not getting taken care of, you tell me, and I make sure it happens. Capische?”
Korvin seems a little too stunned or cagey or something to reply.
She flips her phone back open and opens her contacts before pressing the device into his hands. “Put your number in and text yourself so you can contact me. Which, by the way, is an ‘anytime’ kind of offer.”
Another, slightly wide-eyed look, and Korvin follows her instruction.
Twenty minutes later and even the way that Dick opens the door tells Allie that he knows he’s about to get the ass-chewing of his life. He slinks through the entry like a dog pretending it doesn’t know a thing about the torn up couch cushions, grinning brightly and waving at her across the apartment where she’s removing vegetables from the oven.
“Hey, Allie!” She’ll give him credit that nervousness makes his voice waver only slightly. “See you and Korv met!”
"Hm."

Part 4
He didn't want to get out of bed that day, and the Captain calling for a private meeting just as he dared opening his eyes gave him enough reason to know he was right.
Putting on his uniform was as easy as ever. Really, he hardly ever took it off, anyway. It took about twenty seconds to put on his boots and he was off.
It was cold outside.
The night before had been stormy, so if Johnny's lungs weren't used the damn weather by now, he would be cursing the gods for it. It was so cloudy that he just truly wanted to grab a coffee, and sleep again.
Hell, even breakfast before a meeting would do.
His pace wasn't rushed, the sun slowly coming up. As soon as he spotted Simon walking over to the Captain's office as well, seemingly unaware of his presence, he couldn't help but smirk and slow down. He did his best to keep his boots from making noise, holding his breath. He got closer, and closer.
Then, promptly bumped nose first on the back of Simon's head.
"Argh!" he grunted, holding his nose. Simon made no sound at all and just kept on walking. Johnny knew damn well the cocky tilt on the Lieutenant's head as they got near the Captain's office. "Bastard. Could've warned me, instead of making me nearly break my damn nose".
"Why? It's funnier like this" Simon said, the timber in his voice so amused it made Johnny roll his eyes, not really upset at all.
"To you, maybe".
"And that's how it's supposed to be, Johnny".
The conversation was cut short as soon as they approached the Captain's door. He was arguing with someone on the phone. It was clear he was trying not to make much noise, but the anger in his voice was unmistakable.
Simon and him shared a look, and waited for a moment before knocking on the door.
"Get in" the Captain's voice cut through the silence, hanging up the phone before standing up, looking at the two men with a hard expression.
"What's going on?" Simon questioned, standing right next to Johnny, their shoulders brushing.
"We've got a mole" the Captain said, his teeth clenched. Johnny watched as he paced behind his desk, his shoulders hardened.
"A mole?" he wondered, his eyebrows furrowing. "Who's the bastard? We'll drag him to the—"
"Goddammit, Johnny. It's the fucking lass" the Captain snapped.
In that moment, the room went colder than the freaky weather outside. The three men stared at each other for one long second.
"We've five lasses" Simon started, the trembling in his voice so evident that Johnny wanted to reach out, and grab his arm to stabilize him. He didn't, as he was trembling just as badly. "You better give me a name right now, or I'll start breaking your shit".
"If it weren't yours, do you think I would be calling you two idiots?" the Captain growled out. He opened his mouth, ready to continue, but Johnny spoke first.
"Is this some kind of ridiculous, fucked up joke?" he blurted out. He just couldn't think. He just couldn't believe it. "She's been here for nearly ten years. Capt'n, there must be a mistake. And you, you can't possibly believe this shit!" he blurted out at Simon, turning to look at him.
Simon was as stiff as a wooden board.
And he was so damn angry it nearly made Johnny shit his pants.
"Is there proof? Do you have it on you? Is it positive?" Simon questioned, the words flowing, barely controlled. Johnny's mouth fell open. "How can you be sure?"
"LT!" he gasped in surprise, his heart pounding in his throat. He felt like throwing up.
"Answer me" Simon demanded the Captain, ignoring him.
It took them two hours to go through the evidence, more than once. You've been selling information about other team's missions, and they had your fingerprints. It was almost as if you weren't even trying to hide it at all.
"Isn't it too simple, too easy?" Simon said, not for the first time. "Price, you gotta admit it's at least suspicious. She's not stupid".
"Capt'n, the lass' a smart one. Not even the lamest bastard in this damn base could pull a mistake this big" Johnny added. Needing to sooth himself, he discreetly placed his hand right next to Simon's on the desk.
The slightest curl of the Lieutenant's pinky across his made him take a deep breath.
"That's your pussydrunk heads talking to you. This is unmistakable and we can't risk it" the Captain shook his head, pointing at the evidence in front of them. They both went quiet at that, too troubled to feel offended. "Take her downstairs. We'll do as I ordered, in five. You either do it yourselves, or I'll call someone else" the Captain said. Simple as that.
If the Captain saw Simon snatch his hand back from Johnny's grip before they both stormed out of his office, he didn't say.
What was there to say, anyway?
An empty box suffered all of the Lieutenant's anger as soon as they stepped out. Snapped in half with kicks and thrown to the other side of the hall, alarming a few soldiers that, just taking a look at them, turned away instantly.
Johnny couldn't possibly do anything to make Simon feel any better if he was just as angry and appalled. Hurt, and incredibly confused, mostly. They didn't exchange a single word as they reached the mess hall, their boots heavy against the floor.
Simon's steps faltered when they saw you sitting at the usual table. Johnny clenched his jaw and walked forward, forcing Simon to do the same.
They both watched as you sipped on your mug, no doubt waiting for them to have breakfast. He saw you take a bite of the bread, your eyes brightening as you turned to them, recognizing their footsteps easily.
It's been nine years, after all.
Johnny's heart trembled at the sight. Anxiety and pain bloomed in his chest, but he forced himself to swallow it down. They had orders.
"It's so darn late!" you complained, your voice a little muffled around your mouthful, looking amused. Ridiculous. "Where were you? Come on, let's eat".
Beautiful.
It had been too easy. You didn't resist their touch at all, raising an eyebrow. Johnny heard you nearly choke when you noticed their grip wasn't playful, asking Simon what was happening, you feet dangling between the two of them.
Johnny's grip was tight, fighting to keep his expression blank, but it got fucking difficult the moment you realized where they were taking you, screaming, fighting, and struggling against them, demanding explanations.
The room had been used for many years, even before they got here. It either reeked of shit, piss or blood and bleach. It's never been pleasant.
The Captain was already waiting there.
He kept silent as Simon punched you on the stomach. Kept silent as you begged and pleaded, trying to meet their eyes, their hands tying you to the chair.
The Captain had ordered not to explain anything at first.
And it was fucking hard.
To see you get punched.
To be the one to gag you, despite your attempts to bite down on his fingers. To be the one who made you choke on your fears, on your pain.
Your panic.
Simon's eyes were detached, stuck within himself, the trembling in his hands barely noticeable, but Johnny saw it.
He felt it in his own hands.
Every time the Captain ordered him to yank on your hair. Every time he pressed that disgusting wet rag against your face and poured the water on it. Every time his gray eyes met your pleading gaze.
With each of your screams.
He saw Simon flinch with every one of them.
After the Captain kicked your lights out, the three of them had a serious conversation. Simon and Johnny were quiet, both of them staring at the Captain as if he had grown a second head right in front of them.
"No. I'm not doing that shit".
"Neither am I. Are you out of your fucking mind, Price?"
"Now, lads, I'm not asking. If you don't do it, I'll grab another two. We need information and the evidence is clear" the Captain cut them off. He didn't look happy about it, but he didn't seem too worried, either. "Tomorrow. That's an order".
Simon and Johnny sat on the stairs that night, with you right behind the door, both of them smoking silently. Neither of them acknowledged Johnny's tears, and when Simon turned away, neither said anything.
Your screams were a stab in his heart. And he couldn't blame anyone but himself.
When Price told him what they were going to do because you "wouldn't open your mouth", he had wanted to kill Price right there, but the evidence was too big and they had orders, and it didn't matter what he thought. He was but a soldier. Price gave the orders, and it wasn't his place to question them.
Not too much, anyway.
But that didn't mean he had to like them.
Had it been anybody else, Simon wouldn't have hesitated. He would've dragged the dickhead to the basement himself.
But you?
Price had ordered him to go slow, to make you suffer as the nails were ripped off slowly enough to make you pass out, but he couldn't.
He couldn't go against his orders, but he could do them his way.
If it's done quick enough, the pain concentrates and dissipates faster, leaving only raw, throbbing fingertips behind.
That's the best he could do.
As you pushed your head against his chest, pleading and screaming in pain as Price asked you questions you didn't seem to hear, another nail would come off.
"Give him their names. Please" he whispered, low enough for only you to hear, but you were too gone with pain to pay attention.
Price would order him to go on, and Simon would grit his teeth, and do it as fast as possible.
Every scream made him want to crawl into the tiniest cave, and rot for the eternity.
If you were truly a traitor, he didn't care. He wanted you to break yourself free and steal their guns so you could end them right there. He wanted you to win and take revenge, dance on their bodies for all he cared.
When you said it was done between the two of you, he was glad his back was facing you. Otherwise, you would've noticed the trembling of his lips under the balaclava.
Orders. He had to follow orders.
When the toenails started coming off, your screams reached a deeper pitch. It was as if it wasn't you anymore, you looked like a whole different person. Simon pressed his head to your leg, panting, whispering and begging you to say their names.
"Please" he would whisper, gripping your ankles in hope to ground you away from the pain.
When he was two toenails into the second foot, deep cuts along the arch of the two of them, he decided to pause, as if coming out of a trance. Price had gone out half an hour ago, looking agitated, so he took full advantage of that for a moment.
Simon stopped, looking up at you, but you were slowly passing out just from the little break you were allowed when he stopped.
Johnny was shaking, his shoulder tense as he looked straight to the door in front of you, from where Price bursted inside the room again.
"Follow me" Price said, his mustache shaking. It didn't take long for Johnny and Simon to do so.
The last time he had been this angry, he had nearly killed himself in the middle of his room.
You were innocent.
Simon was faster than Johnny only for a second.
He punched Price so hard that he could hear a finger breaking, but he didn't give a single fuck.
He knew it wasn't Price's fault.
Still, it felt damn good.
Yells could be heard all across the base, confused soldiers who knew nothing of the situation yet would just stare at each other.
"Garrick caught him trying to escape" Price raised his voice again. "He's been detained and has already confessed. The problem is that—"
"I don't fucking care!" Simon snapped, gripping Price's desk hard enough to break the shit out of it. "Bring him here, goddammit. I'll put a bullet through his brain".
"I'm trying to explain why I fucking can't do—"
"The fuck am I here for, then? I'm done with this fucking shit hole" he yelled, not interested in whatever Price had to say anymore.
Johnny and him rushed downstairs, panting, shaking. Price didn't leave his office, the heels of his hands digging into his eyes.
Simon fell to his knees and untied you as quickly as he could, watching you blink your eyes open, your gaze distant.
"I'm so fucking sorry, love. You'll be okay, I fucking promise you that. Fuck, I'm so sorry... I'll carry you, hold on. Hold on..." he whispered, sliding an arm under your legs and carrying you bride style.
He was struggling with his own anger, unable to control his body as he normally would, bumping his shoulders on the walls as he rushed upstairs.
"Watch her head! You're gonna fucking drop her. Let me help—"
"Shut the fuck up, Johnny. Don't fucking try me right now".
If Johnny was hurt by his words, he genuinely didn't care right now. He would get over it.
When he finally reached the clinic, he snapped at however was available to get their fucking arses up.
He knew it wasn't the right thing, but he couldn't afford to be respectful. Not right now. A few medics surrounded you immediately, but one of them started pushing him out.
They kicked him out of your room.
They fucking kicked him out.
Away from you.
"You've two broken fingers, and she doesn't need you. You ain't going in" the head doctor told him. Simon's eyebrows furrowed, his lips curling in a snarl behind the mask, but she was having none of that. "Shut it, you big brute. Now do as I say, or I'm kicking you out of my clinic".
Johnny sat next to him, but Simon wouldn't look away from the door to your room. He sat quietly, not even blinking as the doctor helped him with his fingers. They didn't even hurt.
He didn't matter.
It took you two days to wake up.
As soon as he was allowed in, he barely left your side, only to take a piss or grab a coffee. He would watch the doctors check on you, acting like a dog ready to snap and bite their heads off every time your fingers flicked in your sleep when they touched you.
"L.T. You gotta get some rest" Johnny mumbled, a hand on Simon's shoulder. It was only the two of them and you there. As it should be.
"Not interested".
"Its been four days since you've eaten anything".
"Good for me. Was planning on going on a diet, actually".
"Simon".
"That's my name".
Smack.
Simon finally looks away from your face to look at Johnny with wide eyes, the back of his head burning. "The fuck was that?"
"That's what you get for being a dickhead" Johnny replied, his eyes fixed on you. "She's safe here. Come on, we gotta be fed and rested, so she can kill us when she wakes up".
It took Johnny a lot of convincing, but he managed to drag Simon out. They ate in silence, and slept.
Only a couple of hours.
The moment Simon heard your first scream, just in the back of his mind, he got up to his feet, rushing to the clinic. He wasn't certain if it was his mind or if it was truly you.
When he saw you on the floor, crawling away from him, he felt both relieved and terrified. He sank to the floor instantly, his hands in full display, hoping to ease your fear.
"No, wait. Please. Please. You're okay" he said, his eyes wide, taking in your expression. He will never forget the way you were looking at him, as if he wasn't Simon. Not anymore.
He didn't know what to do, didn't know how to approach you anymore, didn't know how to even begin.
"W-we were tricked" he explained, at a complete loss. "A mole planted evidence against you, but we found him a few days ago, when we brought you here. I'm so—"
"You're sorry" you crackled, and it felt like a stab to his heart. "You're sorry".
It didn't matter what he did, you refused to listen to him.
"Please. I didn't want to do it. I'm so sorry" he pleaded, his hands flat against the ground. "I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you. Johnny and I. You won't forgive us and we know this. Fuck, you should never do so. Lovie... please".
When you started sobbing, shaking and keeping yourself away from him, Simon broke down as well.
He moved slowly, taking his mask off, and leaving it on the floor between the two of you. He didn't dare looking at you, tears or not, but he wanted you to stop being scared at him.
He would've preferred you stabbed him. He would've preferred you made him eat glass and then shot him between the eyebrows.
But scared? He wanted to bite his own fingers off to make sure he would never hurt you again.
Simon was embarrassed. Ashamed.
He had followed orders, but he should've pressed Price harder. He should've helped you somehow instead of just doing as he was told.
The space between the two of you felt disturbing and too big. He wanted to hold you, to kiss your face, and never let go.
But you've been clear. It was over.
He didn't dare trying to convince you.
All he had left was his regret.

maybes and sunscreen
college!sukuna masterlist
after almost a year of living together, you and college!sukuna are so accustomed to one another that you naturally slip up in the other’s conversations. maybe it's because you're both homebodies, or maybe it's because you've reached the silent agreement to keep the activities you do with yuuji hidden to preserve his innocent childhood (you learned that rumors run a long way inside your campus), or maybe it's because you started to ask sukuna less private questions, since he now seems to want to answer them even before you formulate them.
either way, the two of you always mention the other in conversations, and you don't even seem to notice, but your friends do.
"how about your house, man?" suguru asks sukuna from across the table, sipping his soda. they're sitting outside with satoru for lunch break, slouching on white plastic chairs, waiting for practice to start in less than ten minutes. days are getting longer the more summer break gets nearer, and the breeze flowing through the newly green leaves of the trees is a nice change from the humid stench of the locker rooms.
"dunno. the woman of the house is gonna bake cookies today," he shrugs, scrolling through his phone. he finds himself on a blurry zoomed in photo of a kitten covered in milk, and he smirks, hitting send after having selected your contact. you're going to love it.
"and?" geto asks, confused.
"and i don't know if she wants me to help her or not," sukuna continues, not bothering to look up from his screen, acting like he's not going to pester you until you let him help. and steal some of your cookie batter, too.
"it's the finale, bro, we've been talking about it since december. are you really not going to watch it for some cookies?" his raven haired friend exclaims, baffled. satoru only lowers his glasses on his nose, crossing his arms on his chest.
"oh, i'm going to watch it. got her hooked up on it too," the pink haired man says, a certain tilt to his voice matching the tilt of his head, as if he's saying are you crazy? i'm not missing it. "i don't know if she'd want you there, though."
geto rolls his eyes and satoru snickers, shaking his head. "we just want to watch the game on your tv. are you afraid she's going to feel uncomfortable with us there, my lord captain?" he mocks, sighing. lazily, sukuna glances his way.
"it's not her i'm worried about," he says, raising one of his eyebrows, maroon eyes squinting on a spot behind his friend's back.
"what does that even mean?" mutters geto, even more confused. it’s not like they’ve never seen you or have never been inside your house when you were there, so what’s different this time?
suddenly, sukuna grins like a madman, uncrossing his legs from on top of the table and standing up with his helmet under his arm.
“where are you goi-“ his dark haired friend starts, but satoru puts one of his hands on the other’s shoulder, effectively stopping him, whispering just wait.
sukuna takes a couple of steps, getting out of the gentle shadows of the trees above the table, still grinning.
“hi, baby. did you miss me so much you had to come to see me at practice?” he asks your nearing figure. you’re wearing a dress, the breeze soothingly flowing through your hair, and he takes a second to admire how graceful you look in the middle of the green garden. are the flowers you picked with yuuji the other day still fresh? maybe he should get more. maybe you’d like that. maybe you’d smile. maybe you'd thank him.
“i’m here because i knew you were never going to bring sunscreen with you, dickhead,” you huff, blowing your hair out of your vision, frowning. his grin only grows before he forces it away. typical.
“i don’t need that shit,” he rolls his eyes, turning on his heels and going towards the stadium. he knows you’re going to follow him. and you do.
“put it on! i’m not joking, sukuna,” you whine, trying to fall in step with him. “it’s going to be so good for your skin, come on.”
“it’s sticky and i don’t like feeling like a pussy,” he growls, going faster toward the benches inside the stadium and plopping down on them.
“you like pussy, though,” you shrug, forcing yourself between his parted legs, rummaging through your bag.
“i like you too, baby, but that doesn’t mean you’ll let me stick it in your pussy, does it,” he asks you smugly. you punch him on the shoulder, bewildered.
“you’re so disgusting,” you scoff, opening the little spf tube you brought in your purse just for him. "and don't tell me you like me when you never listen to me in the first place," you playfully add, caressing his face to smooth it out, and he lets you get his unruly hair off of his forehead. maybe he likes how you don't take the things he says to heart. maybe he just says them because he knows he's getting a snarky comment back.
“you didn’t say no, though,” he chuckles, closing his eyes and letting himself bask in your presence. your touch on his features is relaxing. he honestly thinks he could fall asleep if you were in any other setting.
“i’m letting you talk just because i’m in a male dominated field and even if i don’t agree i don’t want to die,” you deadpan. you smear the white cream on his nose, on top of the horizontal tattoo, and massage it into his skin. then you do the same thing with his other markings, making sure they’re protected enough to shimmer in the blazing hot sun.
“i wouldn’t let you die on me anyway,” he mutters. he gets both of his hands on your exposed thighs, keeping you closer, softly rubbing his thumbs in your muscles. "are you fucking finished? i hate this," he bites, frowning. you hum, lazily smiling down at him, rubbing his frown away with your fingertips.
"you're going to be the prettiest girl on the field," you coo. you can feel his mean glare from beneath his eyelids, and you almost shiver. "you're so going to thank me in a couple of years," you add, resting your palms on his cheeks and turning his head up. he opens his eyes slowly, staring into yours intently. his thumb catches on the fluttering hem of you dress while he draws little circles on your legs. he hears his coach screaming for his team to start running, but in this moment, he doesn't care that much. maybe the heat is getting to his head. maybe the soft smile you're looking at him with is making him a little bit weak in the knees.
"wanna make cookies today? we can watch the match together, perhaps ask the brat if he wants to join too," he says, rough voice kept low, almost as if this was a you and him kind of thing. maybe he already planned to ask you to do something with him when he was talking to his friends just a couple of minutes ago. maybe he lied, telling them you were the one who chose to do something, when it's not true. maybe the way satoru is patting suguru on the back with an "i told you so" look on his face isn't casual. maybe the one he was worried about all along was himself.
"wouldn't you prefer to watch it with your friends?" you ask him, tilting your head, positioning your thumbs on the fake tattoos on his cheekbones. almost as if you could cover their pupils and make him see less.
"wouldn't you prefer to watch it with me?" he genuinely responds, a somber look on his features. you think it's the first time he doesn't have a mocking grin on his lips. you ruffle the pink hair just above his left ear.
"maybe."

Principal: Another child took her fruit cup
MC: Is this the same kid who put slime in her hair two days ago?
Principal: Yes but-
Zayne: Is this the same kid who's been taking her notebooks for the last two weeks
Principal: well you see-
Zayne: This sounds like a case of bullying and it seems as though you and your staff have done little to discipline a student who has been bullying our daughter
Principal: I assure you we have a strict no bullying poli-
Zayne: It's not strict enough.
The principals lips snap shut.
Zayne: Now violence is not the answer, but this sounds like a case of self-defense you along with your staff need to handle the bullying problem you have in this school
Principal: ....
Zayne: Are we done here?
Principal: Yes we're done here sir sorry to bother you two
MC: Don't be sorry be better

Principal: Your child then proceeded to punch the other kid in the mouth knocking his tooth out
Xavier: Sounds like self defense
Principal: Your son busted that kids lip sir
MC: Maybe that kid should've kept his hands off our son
Principal: We can't have your son fighting it goes against everything we stand for
Xavier: My son has told you and your staff multiple times this kid was being mean to him and you've done nothing
Principal: We've done everything we can
Xavier: No you haven't you let it slide until he stood up for himself and showed that kid that his actions have consequences we're done here

Sylus: Why.
Principal: She tied up a student and stuffed him in a locker
Sylus: Why.
Principal:*mumbling* He .... He ripped one of her braids out
Sylus: Speak up.
Principal: Another student pulled her hair and removed a braid by accident
Sylus: If I do recall my daughter has reported this kid pulling her hair multiple times
Principal: Yes but we can't have her fighting
Sylus: She didn't fight .... she overpowered him and showed their difference in strength
Principal: but-
Sylus: You're lucky she doesn't like picking on the weak ... don't bother me or her mother with these trivial matters again ... lets go little dove
MC: How did it go? Sylus: Just a friendly chat nothing serious MC: What did she do? Sylus: Made me proud

hey 😏
just wondering if you have anymore mer reader in the works 😏
also! i hope that your doing well!!
and can i be 🌕 anon? :)
You can absolutely be 🌕 anon! And, I do! Here's the final installment of:
Human!Damian x Mer!Reader
Part 9
Masterlist is Here!
Tumblr media
"I'll need everyone's attention before we continue into the next exhibit, please."
Damian's voice is clear but firm, no room for argument in his tone, and his tour group all quickly quiet down to watch him. He rewards them with his well-practiced Customer Service Smile, nodding once.
"Thank you," he says. "This final exhibit is the pride and joy of Gotham Aquarium: the Mer tank. I can already see hands raised, and I'll open the floor up to questions in a minute. We're going to cover the rules first."
He holds up one hand, raising a finger as he goes.
"Rule number one: absolutely no flash photography. Take as many pictures and videos you want, but you have to leave the flash off. Our mer's eyes are sensitive to highly-focused levels of light, and you could temporarily blind them. Rule number two: do not knock or beat on the glass. It is several inches thick and reinforced, but you can still startle and disturb the mer. Rule number three: please...please stop flipping off our mer. They've learned to mimic their handlers and some of the guests, and it took weeks to make them quit it. If I see a bird, notice a flash, or catch you banging on the glass, everyone will be asked to leave."
He drops his hand, looking at every guest expectantly.
"Got it? Everyone say yes, Damian."
"Yes, Damian," the crowd echoes back, a mixture of amusement from the adults and excitement from the children reaching his ears. He gives them another practiced smile and reaches for the door.
"Great. Then step right in. Fan out and look around as much as you want. You can ask any questions now."
"How long has Gotham Aquarium had the mer?" One adult immediately asks, examining the seaweed on the bottom of your tank.
"Almost two years," Damian replies. "The anniversary of their arrival is in a month. We've got a small party planned to celebrate."
"What's the mer's favorite color?" A child asks him, gently tugging on Damian's pant leg to get his attention. His smile becomes more genuine.
"Green," he replies. "They love green things. I see your hair clip is green. They'll probably stare at you when they come out."
The little girl gasps, eyes wide. "Really!?" She turns and runs to her dad. "Hey daddy! The mer likes green, and my hair clip is green! The mer will like me!"
More questions come that Damian answers with ease. He paces along the floor and casts his gaze upward, examining all the little ways your tank has been changing overtime.
Your rock collection has grown substantially since Damian started painting more for you. He gives you a new one every day, and you have them proudly scattered all along the floor to decorate your enclosure. You've also taken to moving your seaweed around; instead of one, big stretch of it to hide and sleep in, you've uprooted it and made it into a series of little hiding places. He can also see some weighted toys lying around that one visitor asks about, happy to explain how you use them for enrichment.
"When's the mer come out?" Another one asks, leaning against the glass. His eyes are practically glazed over from disinterest. "Is it sleeping or something? These tickets were like forty bucks and I'm just staring at rocks and water."
There's a loud thud against the glass behind him. The man yelps and whips around to find you with your hands pressed against the wall, eyes wide and teeth bared as you stare right at him.
"Oh, shit!"
Damian sighs, but he's smirking. You love startling unsuspecting guests; it's your second favorite activity. He watches the others flock to you once they realize what happened, and you perk up and examine them all with a much more pleasant smile.
"Daddy, I can't see," the girl from before complains. Her father gently hoists her up onto his shoulders, and you immediately take notice.
You push off from the glass and swim around the edge of the tunnel to examine her as closely as possible. You tap one claw on the glass, then gesture to your head, and the little girl gasps and beams.
"They see it!!! They see my hair clip daddy!!" She chirps. She tugs it off of her head and holds it up for you to see better. Your pupils widen and your tail swishes gently back and forth, deeply intrigued.
"Obviously, this is our mer," Damian speaks up, and he tells them your name. "Their breed is found in shallow, fresh water. They thrive in warmer temperatures, and they're very rarely alone. You can typically expect them to travel in pods of at least three, though more commonly up to six or seven."
"But Gotham Aquarium only has one mer?" A guest asks, while you make playful grabs for the clip to no avail. "Aren't they lonely, then?"
"There was a big adjustment period for them when we first acquired our mer," Damian nods, "but they have a dedicated team of caregivers that ensure they aren't lonely or bored. They've bonded with several of us very well. Even though they recognize that we don't live underwater, they still see us as pod-mates."
"How long did it take to bond with them?"
"Great question," Damian says. He watches you give up on snatching the clip and start swimming around the tunnel to examine the other visitors. "It took them about ten months after arriving to learn to trust me. We started off slow: I would use a remote-controlled robot to deliver their buckets of food and then dump it into the water. Then I would enter the room where the top of the tank is, and hand it to them with a long pole. Then I got rid of the pole and set the bucket on the lip of the tank, and stood back while they retrieved it. When they got used to me being around, we started working on small tricks."
Damian lifts his hands, wiggling his fingers to catch your attention. You lock eyes with him and give a knowing nod, swimming up until you're positioned directly above him. He waves his left hand clockwise, and you swim in slow, clockwise circles. He waves his right arm next, and you switch and start spinning counter-clockwise.
"This is all done humanely and voluntarily, of course," Damian explains while the guests watch on with rapt attention. "If there's a trick they don't want to perform, they simply won't do it. We don't force them into doing anything, including coming out during tours if that's not what they want. Some days they just aren't up to saying hello, and that's fine."
He drops one arm and uses the other to make a broad waving motion. You mimic the action. He points at one of your toys, gesturing for you to grab it and bring it over. You glance at the one he wants, then ignore him and decide to go back over to the little girl and admire her hair clip some more.
"As you can see, they like shiny objects, especially if they're green. They've got a small collection of aquatic-safe objects in their hideaway. All breeds of mer tend to have hoarding tendencies, and ours is no different."
Damian gives the group a few more facts about you and your general behaviors, answers some more questions, and then inevitably has to call it when the same guy complaining about ticket prices decides to photograph you with the flash on. You flinch and rub your eyes, then dart away out of sight.
"All right, everyone, please come this way," he calls, in that cordial but no-nonsense tone again, and holds open the door. "This concludes your tour of Gotham Aquarium. Please exit this way in an orderly fashion."
"Aww.."
"Nice job, jackass. We were supposed to be in here for at least twenty more minutes."
"I didn't think he was serious! I forgot to turn the flash off, so what!"
"That was kinda cool. Sucks we couldn't stay, though."
There's a tug on his pants again. Damian looks down at the little girl, who fidgets nervously.
"Um...is the mer gonna be okay? Are their eyes hurting a lot?" She asks. Damian knees down to her height and offers her another smile.
"They'll be fine," he promises. "I personally check on them every day. What's your name? I'll tell them you said hi."
"Um!" The girl blushes, eyes wide. "It's Rosie! Thank you mister!"
"You're welcome, Rosie. I hope you had fun today."
"So much fun!" She agrees, then turns to her dad and reaches up to take his hand, walking out of the tunnel. "Daddy, daddy! When I grow up I wanna take care of mers, too!"
"Okay, honey," her dad chuckles, "but you're gonna have to do your homework if that dream is gonna come true."
"Aw, man!....okay. I'll do my math sheets for the mers..."
Once the room is cleared, Damian closes and locks the doors. He hangs around just long enough to ensure no stragglers try to swing back around, then drops the Polite Tour Guide persona and heads for the staff elevators with a scowl. It's a matter of minutes before he's in the locker room, swapping out the Aquarium polo and khakis for his wetsuit and then trudging into your tank entrance.
"Rule one!" He complains to Jon, who is already sitting on the lip of the tank and filling a puzzle cube with treats for you. "No flash! It's the first rule, and someone breaks it almost every single day we're open! One day I'm going to hit my limit for these witless miscreants and start punching people."
"So, tours didn't go super well I take it," Jon says, not even sparing him a glance. He's heard different versions of this rant at least five times and doesn't react to it anymore, having quickly come to understand that Damian is just Like That. "You gonna go do the eye exam already or should I call my dad? Y'know, the actual vet?"
"He's never as thorough as I prefer. You know that. Also: shut up, who asked you?"
"You're a joy and a delight to work with, Wayne."
Damian ignores him and grabs a rebreather and situates it over his mouth, ties the bag of eye equipment around his waist, steps up onto the edge of the tank, then dives. The water swirls around him, an all-encompassing and welcoming pressure. He starts pedaling his arms and legs, headed for the direction you sped off at the end of the tour.
He finds you in the middle level of your tank, about a floor down, curled around an underwater tree limb and rubbing your eyes. You squint at him when you notice his presence and trill, the water vibrating slightly around you.
Damian quickly goes to work, pulling out one tool at a time to check on your eyes and how well you can see. You're perfectly fine, just annoyed, but he considers having his father enact a total ban on any cameras in the tunnel when tours come by. Just because you're fine now doesn't mean it'll stay that way every time.
He points upwards, to the surface, and you nod. You take his hand and pull him along, your powerful tail carrying him faster than he ever could on his own, and soon you're both above the water and treading it calmly.
"Welcome back!" Jon grins, waving your puzzle toy at you. "Refilled this for ya. Your record for getting all the treats out is six minutes. Think you can break that today?"
Your eyes narrow and you reach for it eagerly. You can smell the squid and shrimp tucked into each compartment, which are your favorites; absolutely you will be getting those out in six minutes or less.
Damian pulls himself up to the lip of the tank and both boys watch you poke, pull, and prod at the components of the puzzle box. It's not long before you're collecting your spoils and eating them triumphantly. Jon checks his timer and notes that you beat your previous record by over a minute and a half.
"Are you surprised?" Damian huffs. "They're brilliant. They could learn to do just about anything with enough time and practice."
You preen, chittering your agreement. That's why Damian is your favorite caretaker; he's never doubted you since getting to know you, not ever.
He did forget something, though. You toss the puzzle box back at Jon and make grabby hands, face expectant.
Damian immediately clears his throat and looks at Jon, cheeks turning the barest shade of pink. "I need you to go and fetch the shears. The vine growth on the middle level of the tank is beginning to obscure vision and easy travel."
"You didn't bring them with you?" Jon frowns. "Dude. They're all the way on the bottom floor in the maintenance closet. It's gonna take me like twenty minutes to get back here."
"Then you'd better make haste."
"Why can't you do it?"
Damian scowls at him. Jon throws his hands up and climbs to his feet.
"Fine! Haven't gotten my ten thousand steps yet anyway," he grumbles, heading for the door. "Don't play hide and seek without me! I've just gotten good at finding spots I can fit in!"
You chitter and chirp, amused, then focus on Damian again once the doors go your enclosure snap shut.
Damian faces you, the pink in his cheeks worsening. He fiddles with the bag tied to his waist and avoids your gaze.
"I, ah..." He starts, working his jaw in thought. "The girl whose clip you liked. She says hello. Her name is Rosie."
You blink, waiting patiently for him to get to the point.
"I was asked about how you've adjusted to life here without pod-mates. I told them you have a pod in us. That you're not alone here despite being the only one of your kind in Gotham Aquarium." Damian swishes his feet slowly in the water, following the same rhythm as your tail. You drift a little closer.
"And you've adjusted very well, Princess," he continues, voice turning soft. "I can't thank you enough for giving me a second chance to care for you. I want you to know that it means everything to me."
Damian meets your gaze again, and there it is. There's that pair of gorgeous, emerald eyes you adore. You drift even closer, resting your palms on the backs of his calves, and smile up at him. He smiles right back.
"You noticed I don't have another rock for you," he says. You nod. "It's because I didn't bring you a rock this time."
You frown, huffing. Damian chuckles.
"You know I kept the scales you gave me," he admits, recapturing your attention. Your eyes widen, heart starting to pound in your chest. Was he about to give them back? You didn't want them back. "They're beautiful, Princess. I keep them in a jar in my bedroom, and I look at them all the time. They make me happy every time I see them. I wanted to give you something like that in return."
Your heart pounds faster. It sounds like he's about to do what you've wanted from him for what feels like forever. Your grip on his calves tightens, wide eyes searching his own.
"I don't ever want you to doubt how much I care about you again," Damian says, pulling your gift out of the pouch on his waist.
It's a beautiful, emerald pendant on a gold chain, the jewel the same shade as his eyes. You're immediately captivated, reaching up with a trembling hand to cradle the necklace to your chest and admire it more closely. The gentle, rippling water of your tank reflects against the surface and makes the shine of it seem to undulate all around you. It's the most wonderful gift you've ever gotten.
"I hope... I hope that you'll accept this token of courtship," Damian finishes quietly.
You look up at him with tears in your eyes and trill loudly enough to make his ears ring. You tug frantically at his legs and he obediently slips back into the water, letting you wrap your arms around him and squeeze tight, tight, tight. He squeezes you right back, resting his chin on top of your head.
"I love you," he mumbles into your hair. You warble it back as best as you can, nuzzling into him, then lean up and gently press your lips against his. He presses right back, shivering but not from the chill of the water.
Jon finds the two of you like that when he returns with the shears twenty minutes later. He just sighs and rolls his eyes.
"First of all, finally. The will-they-won't-they drama was killing me. Second of all, you could have just said you wanted a moment alone, dude. It took me forever to find these! Do the vines even need trimmed down?"
Damian just smiles and hides his face in your shoulder. They don't.

EuroGamer: 'BioWare knew the deepest secrets of Dragon Age lore 20 years ago, and locked it away in an uber-plot doc'
Original creator David Gaider on how "some of the big mysteries are being solved".
Rest of post under a cut due to length and possible spoilers.
"As I write about the secrets hidden in Dragon Age's mysterious Fade, and as I uncover some of them playing Dragon Age: The Veilguard, one question keeps rising up in my mind. How much did BioWare know about future events when first developing the series more than 20 years ago? That's a long time, and back then BioWare didn't know there would be a second game, which is why Dragon Age: Origins has an elaborate and far-reaching epilogue. Why lay so much lore-track ahead of yourself if you don't think you'll ever get there? But look more closely at Origins and there are big clues suggesting BioWare did know about future Dragon Age events. There are obvious signs in the original game, such as establishing recurring themes like Old Gods and the Blight and Archdemons. But there's also Flemeth, Morrigan's witchy mother, who's intimately linked to events in the series now - more specifically: intimately linked to Solas. Does her existence mean Solas was known about back then too? There's only one person I can think of to answer this and it's David Gaider, the original creator of Dragon Age's world and lore. We've talked before, once in a podcast and once for a piece on the magic of fantasy maps, where we discussed the creation of Dragon Age's world. And much to my surprise, when I ask him what he and the BioWare team knew back then, he says they knew it all. "By the time we released Dragon Age: Origins, we were basically sure that it was one and done, but there was, back when we made the world, an overarching plan," he says. "The way I created the world was to seed plots in various parts of the world that could be part of a game, a single game, and then there was the overall uber-plot, which I didn't know for certain that we would ever get to but I had an understanding of how it all worked together. "A lot of that was in my head until we were starting Inquisition and the writers got a little bit impatient with my memory or lack thereof, so they pinned me down and dragged the uber-plot out of me. I'd talked about it, I'd hinted at it, but never really spelled out how it all connected, so they dragged it out of me, we put it into a master lore doc, the secret lore, which we had to hide from most of the team.""
"This uber-plot document was only viewable on a need-to-know basis, he says, and only around 20 people on the team had access to it - other senior writers mostly. And even though Gaider left the Dragon Age team after Inquisition, and then eight years ago BioWare altogether, meaning he didn't work on The Veilguard at all, he believes - by looking at the events in the new game - his uber-plot lore "has more or less held up". That's impressive. What's even more impressive, or exciting, is that back then he also envisaged a potential end state for the entire Dragon Age series - a point at which it would make no sense for the series to carry on. "I always had this dream of where it would all end, the very last plot," he says, "which I won't say because who knows, we could still end up there. But the idea that this uber-plot was this sort of biggest, finite... That the final thing you could do in this world that would break it was there as a 'maybe we would get to do that one day'... There was just the idea of certain big, world-shaking things that were seeded in that arc, some of which have already come to pass, like the return of Fen'Harel." You've read that correctly: the idea to have Fen'Harel, also known as the Dread Wolf, reappear, was seeded all the way back then, way before Inquisition - the game in which he does actually reappear. But the concept for Solas, as a character who was Fen'Harel in disguise, was a newer idea. "That spawned from a conversation I had with Patrick [Weekes] and a number of other writers," Gaider says, "as an idea of 'what if you had a villain that spent an entire game where he's actually in the party and you get to know him?' Now, the god version and his larger role in the plot, yes that was known, but not that he would be presented as a character named Solas." Fen'Harel being known about means the other elven gods were known about, which means all of that stuff Solas reveals about his godly siblings - that they're not gods at all but evil elven mages he locked away behind the Veil - was known about back then too. "Oh yeah," Gaider says. "Everything that Solas tells you [at the end of Inquisition DLC, Trespasser]: it's all part of that original uber-lore - that was all in our mind." But why have so much lore if you're not certain you'll get to ever realise it? Well, to create a believable illusion. By creating an "excess" of lore, as Gaider describes it, Origins made Thedas feel like an old and believable place. A place with history, rather than a Western set that was all facade and no substance."
"BioWare also did something canny with the lore it did relay then, too: it shared it through the voices of characters living in the world, making it inherently fallible. In doing this, Dragon Age veiled its truths behind biases. The church-like organisation of the Chantry proclaims one truth, while the elves and dwarves proclaim another. Sidenote: you can experience this yourself through different racial origin stories in Dragon Age: Origins. This way, there's no one, objective, irrefutable, truth. "To get the truth, you kind of have to pick between the lines," Gaider says. So even though elven legends are coming true through the existence of Solas and The Veilguard's antagonist gods, it doesn't mean that's the one and only truth. There's truth in what the Chantry teaches and what the dwarves say, he tells me, which ignites my curiosity intensely. BioWare has also been tricksy in how it's rubbed out the lore the further back in time you go. "In general, the further the history goes back, we always would purposefully obfuscate it more and more," Gaider says - "make it more biased and more untrue no matter who was talking, just so that the absolute truth was rarely knowable. I like that idea from a world standpoint, that the player always has to wonder and bring their own beliefs to it." It leads into a founding principle of Dragon Age, which is doubt - because without it, you can't have faith, a particularly important concept in the series. It's where the whole idea of the Chantry's Maker comes from and with it, the legend about the fabled Golden City - now the Black City - at the heart of the Fade. This is the very centre of the lore web, and, I imagine, it's close to the series endpoint Gaider imagined long ago. All secrets end there. Did Gaider know what was in the Black City when he laid down Origins' lore? That's the question - and it startles me how casually he answers this. "Oh, yeah," he says. "What was in the Black City: that's the uber-plot. I knew exactly. "Was it as detailed in the first draft of the world?" he goes on. "No. I had an idea of the early history because that's where I started making the world. So the things that were true early-early: I knew exactly what the Black City was and the idea of what the elves believed, and what humans believed vis-a-vis the Chantry - that was all settled on really early. Then I expanded the world and the uber-plot bubbled out of that.""
"Gaider shows me the original cosmology design document for Dragon Age: Origins as if to prove this - or rather for the game that would become DAO. The world was known as Peldea back then. I can't share this with you because I see it via a shared screen on a video call, and because Gaider doesn't want me to, mostly because the ideas are so old they're almost unrecognisable from what's in the series now. But I can tell you it's a document that's just over a page in length, and that there's a circular diagram at the top showing the world in the middle and the spirit realm ringed around it. And on that document is reference to the Chantry's beliefs about a God located in a citadel that can be found there. Gaider says BioWare knew about Fen'Harel (the Dread Wolf) 20 years ago when it was developing Dragon Age: Origins, and that he'd one day reappear. The Fade wasn't known as the Fade back then, either, but as the Dreaming, because it's the place people go when they dream - an idea that lives on still. And if that sounds familiar to any fans of The Sandman among you, it should. "I'd say The Sandman series was probably fairly prominently in my head," says Gaider. "I liked that amorphous geography that was born from the psyche of collective humanity. I'd say yes, if I was to point at something specifically, that's probably where the very first inspiration of it took root." It's a lot to take in, but it reinforces the admiration I have for Dragon Age. Just as I have when hearing about the creation of my other favourite fantasy worlds, such as A Song of Ice and Fire, I begin to understand the magnitude - and the deliberateness - of the plotting that went on. I wonder if one day the Dragon Age series will end in the way Gaider first imagined, albeit slightly altered by the many other pairs of hands shepherding it along now. What a curious feeling it must be to know, so many years in advance, where things might go. Where that end is, I don't know, but I do know we'll take a significant step towards it in The Veilguard. After all, we're coming into contact with gods who were there at the recorded beginning of it all. "Yeah - we have access to people who can tell us the truth from first-hand experience," Gaider says, "although again, it depends on what the writers did with it. But if they continued the tradition of Dragon Age, you never know for sure if Solas is telling you everything, or what you're learning is the entire truth. "But yes, some of the big mysteries are being solved. I mean, will they one day definitively tell you about the Maker? Will we crack the big mysteries of the world and just make them answered finally? And does that ruin one of the central precepts that Dragon Age is founded upon? Maybe," he says. "Ultimately, that lore, when you make it big and you hint at it and hint at it and hint at it, it becomes a Chekhov's Gun of sorts. Eventually you got to pony up.""

synopsis: my own iteration of the split-second glimpse of frank we got in the 'daredevil: born again trailer' — some angst, some reunion fluff, some heat... enjoy! author’s note: saw frank castle on the screen for the first time in years and... yeah. wow, i've missed my man. this is obviously inspired by the glimpse of him we get in the new daredevil trailer, but as we obviously don't have any context for it, i put my own little spin on it. does it make any sense? probably not, but when have i ever let that stop me. i got a little carried away, oops! wordcount: 2,988

Ever since your vigilante boyfriend had to drop off the face of the Earth, you've become something of a social recluse.
Yeah, sure, you still keep in sporadic touch with Matt, Foggy, and Karen, but having to say goodbye to the man you love the most in the world and never see him again definitely dampened your appetite for social interaction.
It also made you paranoid, said Karen over a late-night drink, and though you'd disputed that fact at the time, she had a point. You glance over your shoulder everywhere you go, tuck your body into the corner-most seat at every restaurant as your eyes scan the crowd, and spend hours each night browsing the web for sightings of the infamous 'Punisher'.
That's not paranoia, you muse to yourself. It's desperation.
You look for him everywhere. But you know he's too good at what he does to be found by happenstance, and that when it's safe — for you, that is — he'll resurface.
"You're not safe." The two of you had been arguing for what must have been an hour at that point, with him reiterating the same stupid point over and over again.
You had planted your hands on your hips at that point, sick of feeling told what to do, and not even considering his ridiculous idea of disappearing. "You're not listening to me. I can fend for myself, and, honestly, I don't see how you leaving me will make me any safer than I am when you're—"
"Because they'll be coming after me, and if they figure out that they can get to me through you, then you'll become a target to them—"
"We've been over this already," You throw your hands up in exasperation, sick of feeling coddled. "I don't care, I—"
"Well I do!" Frank's voice had just erupted then, rising to a shouting volume for the first time all night, and you'd held back the retort poised on your lips, recognizing the severity in his expression. "I care if you disappear, or get hurt, or..."
Neither of you need him to finish that sentence, you both understand exactly what he's afraid of.
"I will not let them take you too." His voice cracked, and the anger in your body dissipated immediately, replaced by tears brimming in your eyes.
"So what, I just never see you again?" Your brows tug together, face crumpling as the reality of his plan sets in.
"Hey, no, c'mere," He tugs you into his arms, pressing your head against his chest, and you burrow into him, latching your hands around his torso as if maybe, just maybe, the harder you hold onto him, the less you'll have to let him go. "It's not never." The rumble of his voice in his chest has always been soothing to you, but his words set you on edge.
"But you don't know how long." You keep your face pressed into the worn grey fabric of his shirt as you speak, hoping to hide the devastation on your face. It's not a question. He doesn't answer, and your heart shatters on the spot, tears seeping into his shirt as your world falls apart.
Frank was gone before you even woke up the next morning.
You shake yourself out of the memory of that day, glancing over your shoulder as you turn down the street towards your local gym. Part of your coping mechanism for Frank leaving was proving him wrong, proving that you don't need him to protect you — that you can protect yourself.
That he doesn't need to leave again.
You're grateful for the silence in the gym, having paid the gym owner to let you in after hours, so you don't have to worry about seeing other people while you work out — a pet peeve of yours.
You lose yourself in your routine — focusing on strength, on combat, hitting the sandbag until your knuckles ache and kicking the mannequin until your shins turn red — until finally, red and sweaty and panting, you decide to wrap up for the day.
You've just opened your locker when you hear it — the quietest creak of the door closing, deliberately quiet, like someone is trying to sneak in. Your breath catches in your chest, slipping your hand into your gym bag and wrapping around the handle of one of the weapons you'd brought with you.
Yeah, okay, maybe you'd gone a little overboard bringing a hatchet with you to the gym, but you're grateful for it right now. You spot a dark shape move in the reflection of the metal locker, and you grit your teeth.
This is it, the people Frank were running from have found you. Fear builds in your throat, cloying at your windpipe, but one thought rings through your head that steadies you. He can't lose you too.
And with that, you wheel around, weapon swinging through the air as you go. A strong hand catches your forearm, pausing your attack, and you drop the weapon into your other waiting hand —
And freeze when you catch a glimpse of your so-called attacker.
It doesn't feel real, and for a moment, you panic, stumbling a step backwards in fear that this is some kind of trick, that it's not him, but then he steps into the light from the window, hands raised in a placating motion, and you gasp.
"You gonna put the hatchet down?" The deep rumble of Frank's voice runs through you, achingly familiar, and the weapon slips out of your hand and clatters loudly against the concrete.
"...Frank." You breathe out, the word barely audible in your state of shock, and watch as his dark eyes run over your features, as if mapping out your face. The moment stretches out seemingly infinitely — the only sound in the room your intermingled bated breaths, eyes drinking in the sight of each other ravenously.
"Hi sweetheart." A tentative smile tugs at the corner of his mouth — his facial hair is longer, the rugged look suits him, you've always liked the beard — and as your mind runs a millions miles a minute, the spell is broken, and you catapult into him, your bodies colliding as you fling your arms around his neck and sob against him.
His strong arms — tree trunks, you'd called them once — wrap around you in a way that feels like home, and you breathe in his scent of leather and coffee and gunpowder. The embrace is grounding, as you feel the quickened rise and fall of his chest between your arms and your torso.
"You're real." You whisper into his neck, barely able to believe it.
"Yeah, sweetheart. I'm real." The roughness of his voice feels even thicker, wrought with an emotion you can't quite place — relief, possibly. Regret, maybe. Both, most likely.
You fist your fingers tighter into his shirt, still unwilling to let go of him as your own wave of emotions cascades over you. "You left."
Frank's sharp exhale breezes over the top of your head. "I know."
“I looked for you— I looked everywhere—”
His grip tightens as you speak, his hand moving to cradle the back of your head. “I know, baby. I know. You know I never wanted to leave you. You know that.”
The sound of someone clearing their throat startles you out of your skin, and you break the embrace for the first time to dart down to pick up the hatchet you'd dropped, whirling around to face the noise.
"Matt." You gasp when your eyes land on him, and the lawyer smiles sheepishly in return.
"Just wanted to remind the two of you that you're not alone." He punctuates his sentence with a tap of his cane on the ground, and you sigh out a shaky laugh.
"What're you even doing here?"
"How do you think Frank knew how to find you?" He cocks his head, readjusting his red glasses, and you spin to find Frank.
Frank rubs a hand over his jaw as his eyes flicker between you and Matt, shifting his weight slightly — you can tell he's uncomfortable. "Called in a favour," He admits, eyes falling down to bore a hole into the concrete floor. "Didn't know how to—" He stops short, eyes darkening as he exhales, finally rising to meet your gaze again. "Didn’t know if you'd want to see me again."
Your heart clenches at his words, and you glance over at Matt, who gives you the smallest, knowing smile. "Thank you." You utter, barely a whisper, aimed so only Matt will hear it.
“I’ll, uh, give you two some time alone," Matt says, nodding at each of you. "I'll see you around."
And with that, he turns, cane tapping against the gym floor as he walks away, leaving you and Frank standing in the silence.
This is the time when you should get angry. Yell at him, shove at him, make him truly understand what it felt like to be all alone for all this time. But when you take him in, the lines on his face, the way his eyes dart around the room, you know he felt it all too.
Instead, you sigh, reaching for your boyfriend's hand, and say, "Take me home."
And he does.
The walk home is quiet. Frank keeps a hand on you the whole way, though — his fingers grazing your wrist as you step onto the sidewalk, resting on the small of your back as you wait at a crosswalk, a gentle weight on your forearm as you go to unlock your apartment door. A reassurance — you're here, he's back. The constant reminder is necessary for the both of you, you imagine.
Inside the apartment, the air feels thick, hanging with the unspoken — a possible argument looming on the horizon, the potential reunion of two lovers who've spent time apart, the hazard that this is a relationship ruined beyond repair — you can feel every scenario run through your brain at a mile a minute, and it's making you sick.
You lock your door behind you, fingers lingering on the deadbolt before you turn to find Frank standing in the dim light of your living room. His shoulders are tense, like he’s waiting for you to chew him out, like he wouldn’t blame you if you did.
Your anxiety melts, realizing he's having the same train of thought you are.
“You hungry?”
A flicker of surprise passes over his face, and he nods once, glancing towards your kitchen. “Uh, yeah.”
"Don't get too excited, it's just leftovers from last night." You warn as you pass him, moving the takeout containers from the fridge to the microwave while Frank leans against the counter, watching you.
His presence is heavy, familiar in a way that makes your chest ache. You hand him a container and a fork, and he takes them with a quiet thanks.
The two of you eat in near silence, sitting in close proximity on your beat up old couch. You don’t ask where he’s been, what he's done, and he doesn’t offer. Not yet.
You lean over and place your empty container on the coffee table, watching as he does the same, before turning and capturing his lips with yours, sick of the mutual silent treatment you had both endeavoured upon.
He meets your kiss eagerly, hungrily, getting over his initial shock in record time. You both lose yourself in the embrace, pausing briefly to squeal against his lips as he lifts you up and places you in his lap, straddling his waist, your cheeks blazing at the sudden change in position.
Eventually, the two of you come up for air, foreheads pressed together as silence settles back into the space of your apartment and your heart stops thundering against your eardrums.
“You should get some rest.” You say, softer than you mean to, and he chuckles under you.
"If you want to get me into your bed you can just say so, sweetheart." The rumble of his laugh deepens as you roll your eyes and smack him on the chest, standing up from the couch and placing your hands on your hips.
"I mean it," You raise an eyebrow. "I'm sure you're tired, and we can resume... This, later."
Frank stands with a sigh, smirk toying at the corner of his lips, and you roll your eyes again, suppressing your own wide smile. "Alright, alright." He holds his hands up in surrender, moving toward the bedroom.
You toss the empty containers, taking a moment to compose yourself and tamp down the giddy feeling in your chest at Frank's return. You rifle through a cabinet in the living room, finding the basket of Frank's clothes you'd stashed away, and pull out a worn t-shirt and pajama pants before heading into the bedroom.
When you enter, you frown at the empty room. Glancing into the bathroom to find Frank also not in there, your heart begins to thunder in your chest. He wouldn't, you tell yourself, but doubt begins to gnaw at you.
Suddenly, a hand clamps down on your shoulder, and you wheel around and press your arm to the throat of your attacker.
"We have got to stop meeting like this." Frank's amused smile greets you, and you gasp.
"Jesus, Frank!" You exhale, eyes wide. "You're such an asshole!"
"I'm impressed, is what I am."
"What, you wanted proof that I can beat your ass now?"
"Is that so?" He raises one dark eyebrow, smirking slightly, and your stomach drops.
Before you have a chance to react he's latched a foot behind your leg and sweeps you off your footing, following you down as you crash back onto the bed, his hands encircling your wrists and keeping you down. A breathy laugh bubbles out of you, caught off guard, before you roll your eyes.
"That wasn't fair." You complain, trying very hard not to think about how little you mind being stuck in this position.
Frank makes a 'tsk' sound, leaning down into your space. "You let yourself get distracted." You make a humming sound, lifting your head off the bed to press your lips against Frank's, smiling when he reciprocates, one of his hands coming up to cup your jaw.
Success.
You pull a knee up, tucking it between your bodies, before swinging your weight sideways and causing him to tumble sideways onto the bed this time. You scramble to get on top of him, thighs on either side as you press your hands to his wrists.
"Ooh, don't get so distracted, Castle." A cocky smirk alights on your face, peering down at him, and your heart flutters as a broad smile cracks open his mouth.
Frank huffs out a laugh beneath you, causing the entire bed to shake lightly as he shakes his head. "I'll give you that one." He admits, his eyes gleaming with emotion — something like pride, but softer, heavier, and your heart melts in your chest.
You lean your weight forward, pressing your palms harder against his wrists to keep him pinned (though you're both aware he could break free if he really wanted to) but he doesn't. He just lays there, raking his dark eyes over your face, his expression unreadable now.
The air between the two of you shifts, and then slows.
You swallow thickly, increasingly aware of the warmth and solidity of his body beneath you, of his eyes on your face, tracing a path from your lips back up to your eyes. Your breath catches in your throat, pulse hammering, and you're grateful when he speaks first.
“You missed me.” His voice is lower, impossibly gravellier than usual, and definitive. It's not a question.
You nod, throat tightening. "Yes," You breathe. "I did."
His expression softens, the sharp edges of him melting away as you both take each other in — like earlier in the gym, but with less desperation, less shock. He shifts, tugging one of his hands free from your grip with alarming ease, but instead of pushing you off of him, he reaches up and traces the edge of your cheek with the back of his fingers, leaving them to rest against your skin, rough and warm.
You lean into his touch, exhaling shakily. "You're back."
Frank nods, his fingers drifting down to cup the back of your neck. “Yeah. I’m back.”
For how long, you don’t ask. You don’t want to know.
Instead, you lean your torso down, tilting your head as you slot your mouth against his in a kiss that's slower this time, less teasing, releasing his other hand and placing both of yours on either side of his head. He takes his newly freed hands and rests them against your waist, pulling you down even closer against him.
You're not sure how long the two of you remain tangled up in each other, pressing kisses against skin as if trying to make up for lost time. Eventually, reality seeps back in, and Frank pulls away to gaze at you with the softest darkest eyes you've ever seen.
“You ever gonna tell me what the hell you were doing in that gym with a goddamn hatchet?” His voice is gruff, teasing, but there’s something else there, too — concern.
You huff, rolling your eyes but not pulling away. “I was proving a point.”
Frank lifts an eyebrow. “That point being?”
“That I can take care of myself.”
His expression flickers, something unreadable passing through his eyes. Then, finally, he nods. “Yeah,” He murmurs, thumb brushing against your jaw. “I can see that.”
A beat of silence. Then, his lips twitch. “A hatchet, though? Really?”
You groan, smacking his shoulder as he laughs, deep and warm, and you can’t help but think — yeah. He’s back.

Is there is one thing you could change in Ace Attorney. What would it be?
Hmmm. Well you asked for one but I'm giving you two more mechanical things and one story thing, I'd do any of these really lol:
Just bump everyone's starting age up by like, I don't know, 3-4 years. Why are they all so young. It doesn't really add anything to anything imo -- the teen prodigies are no longer impressive because every character is a teen prodigy -- and in some cases it severely distracts from the story they're attempting to tell, like Regina in Big Top or the Dahlia/Fawles backstory. Trucy and Pearl being so young are the only ones where their age seems like... necessary to their characterization.
More breathing room between the events of 3-5 and Phoenix being disbarred. It only being a couple months after the triumphant finale of the trilogy just comes across kind of ... mean spirited? "Oh you THOUGHT that was a happy ending but GUESS WHAT everything went to shit two weeks later" lmao. Also it would give more time to explain why things are the way they are, the absence of characters, and so on. He could've had another year or so of success before it falls apart :P
I think Feenie should've been "dating" both Dahlia and Iris. I think this maintains the, like, theme~ better, and also stops the Iris reveal in 3-5 from feeling incongruous with what happens and what Dahlia says in 3-1. At minimum they didn't need to emphasize "you ONLY met Dahlia TWICE, EVER" lol like I'm supposed to believe she sat in a mountain for 8 months and never tried to get the necklace herself?? It'd be perfectly in character for Phoenix to be fine with Dollie being hot and cold, ignoring all Dahlia's red flags bc most of the time Iris is very sweet to him. I also find it more meaningful if he was actually betrayed in some way by that relationship, while the game by the end of 3-5 is like "no it was True Love and he was right to eat glass". Phoenix's faith in people is more interesting if it's ever actually been tested.

ok i ALSO have thoughts!! the open collar is VERY much a thought-out choice!!
masa USED to not really cover her chest that much in public, around the beginning of the fic. ever. her main reason when asked? she chose not to be selfish with who gets to see her perfect boobs. everyone should enjoy these simple delights!
(there is also the whole aspect of her being ue’s heart, being openly loving (i.e her heart is open like her collar) and also loose on social niceties (like her robes). do you feel me?? character design storytelling hell yeah)
she got dress coded a hundred gazillion times. definitely ate hundreds of creeps. aizen probably had to kill less people since f!masa did it herself.
only time she ever wears her robes proper-like? when she wears the ring necklace to battle, work or hunting - the string can fly anywhere or break, so it has to go inside a tighter collar. unfortunately this significantly lessened the amount of people who had their eyes blessed by her generous nature 😢
(aizen is delighted. nobody seeing the ring aided him with the disguise of not being married in front of hirako until like. chapter 3. he isnt looking at the other reason he is delighted (it’s possessiveness)))
feel free to agree or disagree 👀
I agree with all of this! The fanclub was waaaayyy more vicious about masa because she’s a ‘slut’ but masa herself would be having a blast. Also fem masa has a way easier time just. Finding people to eat? Because toxic masculinity lmao. No one looks at dainty curvy healer lady and goes ‘dangerous’. She could get away with so much shit.
But yeah confidence is sexy as hell and fem masa has it in spades. Masa looking in the mirror like ‘damn I don’t brag enough’ (thot shit plays in the background).
Kisuke is doomed. Shinji is doomed.
Aizen is surprisingly not rabidly possessive yet but he’s getting there!!!

I have a group of acquaintances from my hometown who are mostly “moderate Republicans”, but only because they don’t really pay attention and are young straight white men from an affluent suburb. I don’t hang out with them, but we’re all in a group chat together (that they keep adding me to every time I try to leave). I figured since I was there, I might as well try to introduce them to some leftist, anti-authoritarian ideas. It’s been working—I’ve even seen a shift with the one proper alt-right guy from constantly posting evil shit unfettered to keeping his mouth shut except to occasionally completely make a fool of himself while trying to debate me—but it’s slow. With everything else that’s happening in the US, I’m wondering if this is a worthwhile use of time.
You've already shifted one of your acquaintances from the red pill/alt-right pipeline a bit, so you've answered your own question, Anon! We suggest you keep up the good work here. In fact, we've got some resources for you: If you dig through our Asks Archive, you'll find lots of examples where we responded to the most common bullshit peddled by the far-right. There might be good ammo in there for you to use to continue swaying these guys. The Western States Center has a number of guides offering solid advice on how to respond when people close to you are going down the wrong path. Generally, avoid name-calling and responding with facts is effective. A good way to frame what you say is to Affirm, Answer, & ReDirect: -Affirm that what the person is saying is real and comes from a place of real concern that you understand. This validates them and makes them more open to listening to you. -Answer (or respond) to what they're saying factually. You want to be clear, concise, and concrete when you answer. Make your answer as clear, direct, and succinct as possible and based it on real-world, concrete evidence. -Now you want to ReDirect the person's concern or anger away from the target they thought was appropriate to where they should be angry. To demonstrate: Person 1: I'm fed up with not being able to afford proper housing! There's just not enough homes in this country with all the immigrants coming here! We need to close our borders to makes sure we can house our own people! Person 2: (Affirming): I definitely hear you. It sickens me that so many people are living on the streets here. Rents are out of control. We shouldn't have to worry about whether or not we're going to have a roof over our heads from one month to the next. (Answering): But what is the real problem here? We're one of the richest countries in the world, yet for every one person living on the streets, there are 28 vacant homes available that the owners are just sitting on. The top 20 corporate landlords control over 1.4 million homes. Turning housing from a basic necessity into something to speculate on and try to get rich with means sky-high rents and homes sitting empty while people sleep in the streets. (Redirecting): Immigrants aren't the reason for the housing crisis - relying on capitalism to provide housing when it's only designed to provide profits is the reason! If you are genuinely upset about housing situation here, you need to focus on the people that created the problem and profit from it - wealthy landlords and landowners and the politicians that pass laws that only make them wealthier, at the expense of the rest of us!

–‘Paper stars’– Chris sturniolo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
in which... your boyfriend chris finds out you've got a praise kink.
warnings: none, suggestive at the end!!
‘hi lol, this is based on this meme chris reposted on instagram stories’
Tumblr media
– ... you think is weird? – i ask in fear of freaking out my boyfriend chris, we haven't been dating for too long, we've been together for 3 weeks but we've been friends for about a year and a half, we haven't done anything beyond making out and now we are playing a game of questions, his question being if i have something i haven't told him yet.
– that you have a praise kink? no, i don't think it's weird, why would i? – he says looking at me with an expression i can't quite read.
– I don't know you're looking at me funny – i say honestly, chris is a really expressive guy and i can tell almost every time how he feels just by looking at his face but now he looks like he is deep in thought.
– it's your turn now, dude –
– oh yeah, what is something YOU haven't told me yet? – i question pointing at chris and a little louder when I say ‘you’ tilting my head when i see the same boy scratching his neck bringing his eyes at the ceiling looking like he's searching for an answer.
– ... i also have a praise kink – he says bringing his face to the side almost like trying to hide it.
– ... you do? – you question, you always thought chris looked like the type of guy to be more into degrading which makes you surprised by his answer.
– yeah, ya seem surprised by that... y'know what? I could show you right now – you didn't know what chris had under his sleeve, he was always full of random ass scenarios that no one would've guessed was on his mind.
i watched as the blue eyed boy got up from his position on the floor and started walking towards his bedside table opening the first drawer and grabbing something from it, i couldn't see what it was until chris turned around facing me... it was a paper full of bright yellow stars.
– what are you implying?... – i said completely confused about what chris was thinking.
– imma start giving ya paper stars for every thing you do good – he replies giggling at himself and the face that i give him after he answers.
– ... i swear you're not real, you are a complete idiot – i say as chris begins laughing non stop at his stupid joke making me start laughing with him, repeatedly hitting the floor with my fist while chris has to support himself with his bed to not fall to the ground in tears by how much he's laughing.
– oh my god... that was funny... okay – i say as i try to catch my breath.
– HELL YEAH, as soon as you confessed that I was thinking about doing it – chris says making me feel more calm knowing that it wasn't that he thought i was weird and that he was just trying to think something funny to say.
we start to get quiet and before i can say anything chris slowly gets on top of me beginning to caress the left side of my face with one of his hands while the other one holds my waist.
– seriously tho, i could start doing it... but you'll have to be a good girl, yeah? – he says giving me a smirk and sleepy eyes making my cheeks get the reddest they've ever been while i mumble something unable to get words out because of how flustered i got.
– cat got ya tongue kid? –

Never Hold Back
Day 31: Squirting — Lucien x f!reader
Warnings: oral (f receiving), fingering, insecure reader
Word count: 1.099
A/N: we've finally got to the end of Kinktober! This was so much fun, but it was also exhausting ngl. I'm working on new fics and I'm so glad it's not smut bc I seriously need a break from it. I didn't think I'd be able to write a fic for each day when I decided to do this and I have to say I'm quite of myself for making it. Thank you so much to everyone who read/commented/reblogged my silly smutty blurbs and if you've stuck around to read them all, I love you pls let's get married.
based on this suggestion
Tumblr media
You didn’t have much experience with sex. Or rather, you did, but the people you had been with could be counted on one hand. And if there was one thing you learned after your first time, it was how to fake an orgasm just before the real one hit you. That way, your partner would relent, sparing you the embarrassment.
But Lucien wasn’t like your previous lovers. He was your mate.
When you arched off the bed and moaned louder than before, he pulled his mouth away from you and watched you with a furrowed brow.
“Why do you do that?”
At first, you didn’t understand what he was talking about, and your insecurities took over. What had you done? Did you have an actual orgasm? No, you would have felt that, and Lucien would have looked more grossed out than concerned.
“Do what?” you asked, trying to keep the tremor from your voice.
Lucien sat up straight and you immediately felt the absence of his head between your thighs. His eyes found yours and the uneasiness etched on his face made you brace yourself for what might be coming.
He was silent for a moment before he said quietly, “If you don’t enjoy what I’m doing, please just tell me.”
Eyes wide, you sat up too. “Why would you think that? Of course I enjoy it, Lu!”
“Then why did you just fake an orgasm?”
“I didn’t—”
“You did it last time too.”
Your breath caught, heat rising to your cheeks until you were sure you looked like a tomato. Unsure how to respond, you looked down at your fidgeting hands.
You always thought you were good at faking, that it looked real enough to not raise suspicions. None of the males you’d been with before had ever noticed. And now that your mate had realized it, you wished the ground would open and swallow you whole.
“Sunshine,” he called softly.
A slender finger hooked under your chin, and then you were looking into his eyes. He didn’t seem upset, which spurred you to finally say something.
“I’m sorry,” you stuttered, and words began pouring out in an incoherent stream. “It’s just… my body. When I come, it does— it’s really gross, so I just… I thought you—”
You stopped abruptly when his thumb moved to cover your lips. He searched your face, his brows still furrowed, before he asked, “What do you mean ‘gross’?”
You shook your head, resisting the urge to look away again, but his gaze was piercing, and his golden eye seemed to see right through you, so eventually you answered, voice just above a whisper.
“I… I tend to squirt.”
You expected disgust, judgment, maybe even rejection—the same reactions you had gotten the few times it happened, the reasons you had started faking.
Instead, Lucien smiled broadly. “You do?”
He sounded so excited that you frowned as you gave him a single nod. His hands traveled down your body, caressing your sides until they rested on your waist. You were still waiting for a rejection, and he probably read it on your face because he gently squeezed you.
“Y/N… did someone tell you it’s gross?” he questioned. “Is that why you say that?”
You blinked. “You don’t think it is?”
As soon as the words left your mouth, Lucien’s posture changed. His back went a bit rigid, and his jaw clenched as he let you go. “Lay back down,” he said, or rather ordered. No soft tone was left in his voice, in his expression.
“Lucien…” you tried, but he cut you off.
“Lay down. I’m going to make you come.”
You did as he asked, though with a touch of hesitation. Lucien was quick to settle between your legs again. When you opened your mouth to try and talk him out of it one last time, he beat you to it.
“I am going to make you come,” he repeated, even more firmly than the first time. And then he was licking a stripe up your folds, his hands holding you open for him to feast on.
You decided to just enjoy it, then. What else were you supposed to do when he flicked his tongue over your clit and gently rolled it between his lips? Your hand shot out to tangle in his fiery hair, and you sucked in a breath, feeling his low chuckle reverberate against your cunt.
He probed your entrance with a finger, and when you squirmed, he pushed it in and curled it, hitting that sweet spot that drew a groan from deep in your throat. And then you lost all sense of time and space as the fingers became two and his mouth latched onto your clit.
The pleasure was rising fast—faster than ever, now that you weren’t worrying about waiting for the perfect moment to fake your orgasm. Yet as you felt it approaching, the thought that maybe you should stop before it was too late lingered at the back of your mind.
“Lucien, I’m… I’m close,” you warned, your voice a breathless murmur.
“Then come for me, sunshine.” He looked up at you through his lashes, and his next words were a low, commanding growl. “Don’t you dare hold it back.”
When he thrust his fingers in deeper and curled them once more, you didn’t hold it back, and after so long without such an intense feeling, you were utterly overwhelmed by it. A loud cry broke free from you as your whole body shook while you squirted all over Lucien’s fingers and chin. He held you firm, still working you until you went limp, spent and panting. Only then did he pull back, and you blushed at the sight of his face covered in your release.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered.
Lucien only smiled. “Don’t be. Don’t ever apologize for it.”
He climbed up your body, and you wrapped your arms around his neck out of instinct. As he kissed you, you could taste yourself on his lips and tongue. You weren’t sure how you felt about it.
“It was amazing, sunshine,” he murmured against your lips. “Hot, even.”
His words warmed your heart and a bit of the shame you had grown accustomed to began to melt away. If Lucien, your mate, found it hot… then maybe it wasn’t actually that bad after all.
“And to think that you've denied yourself so many orgasms because of it…” he went on. A smirk blossomed on his lips and a mischievous glint sparked in his russet eye. “Let me remedy that.”

♡ summary: the bau travels to colorado for another case where you find yourself in serious danger pairing: spencer reid x fem!reader warnings: violence, blood, case details wc: 2.5k
Tumblr media
"They didn't have the chips you like but I got you these." Spencer dropped a bag of sour cream and onion chips on the conference table as he sank into the chair beside you. You were in Fort Collins Colorado for a case where an unsub was kidnapping children. As of right now, three children were missing with no confirmation of if they were alive or not.
"That's okay. Thank you." You sent him a smile as you opened the bag. His knee brushed against yours as he scooched his chair closer to the table. The two of you were the only ones in the police precinct, the rest of the team out talking to families or checking out crime scenes. You and Spencer had been tasked with creating the geographical profile but you'd finished a bit ago and were waiting for the rest of the team to come back with new information.
You glanced over as Spencer nudged your water bottle towards you. He'd bought you the bottle to try and get you to drink more water. So far it was working. You liked the color he picked out, it was made of that material that thermos' were made of which kept your drink cold all day. To show your gratitude, you made sure to stay hydrated. You also liked the trips to the water fountain to refill it.
"Do you want to get takeout tonight?" You asked. You were on track to finish this case tonight, right on the unsub's tail. The only way you wouldn't catch him is if he disappeared out of thin air.
"Sure. Your place or mine?" You don't get the chance to answer when Morgan and Emily walk into the conference room.
"We've got a lead. The kid's mother told us about some man she'd been talking to online." Morgan explained, already dialing Garcia.
"Does Hotch know?" You asked, just as the man in question strode into the conference room, Rossi and JJ close behind.
"Hey babygirl, I need you to find me the address of Hugh Rodgers. He's the school psychiatrist."
"You got it hot stuff." You heard rapid typing on the other end of the line. "Alright, I've got two addresses here, 4429 Graham Place, and 6839 Cedar Ave."
"Got it, Morgan, JJ, you're with me, we're going to the first, Prentiss, Rossi, and Reid I want you at the second address." He looks at you, fixing you with a firm stare. "Stay here, see if he had any other patients that went missing." He orders. You sighed, staying seated while everyone filed out.
You were still serving his punishment for going off on your own on the last case. Spencer paused next to you, squeezing your shoulder gently. You looked up, giving him a smile.
"Be safe." You said, squeezing his forearm three times in response.
Tumblr media
You were alone, back in the precinct. The team was out and you were on your own, looking through stacks of files of missing kids over the years. Suddenly the door open and you glanced up, one of the cops in the precinct entering the room.
“Need any help?” He asks. He seemed nice enough, a charming guy that you'd seen around while working the case. You think his name was Devin or Darren? Something like that.
“You know what, sure.” You said. He stepped inside closing the door behind him. He steps up to the table, taking a file.
“So, what are we looking for?” He asks.
“We're trying to find out if the unsub had any other victims we didn't know about.”
“So we're looking for Hugh's patients?” You nodded but then freeze, your eyes flicking away from the missing person's reports to him. He notices you've stopped and looks at you.
“I never told you the unsub's name.” You said warily.
“You didn't?” You set down the file.
“No, I didn't.” You realized that all the blinds were closed. You looked over at the door, noticing that he closed and locked it. You looked back at him. He started moving around the side of the table towards you.
“You were so close.” He said and then pointed to the file you were looking at. “Her right there. She's one of them. She was right between your fingers.” He made two exaggerated fists in front of his chest. “It's a shame I have to kill you now.” He said, making it to your side of the table as you slowly backed away from him. “You would have figured it out, too. She's one of his main patients. And I'm betting that if you had figured that out, you would have caught me too.” He said. He fake lunged at you, chuckling when you flinched back and put a hand on your gun. “That won't help you.” He lifted his shirt, showing his bullet proof vest.
"Are you working with the unsub?" He chuckled cruelly.
"Of course I am. We've been doing this for ten years now." Your mind was racing, trying to figure out a way to get out of this situation. You were alone, in a locked room with a criminal. Fuck.
You suddenly made a break for the door but he rounded the other side of the table quicker, grabbing you around the waist as your hand grazed the doorknob and yanking you back. He threw you into the opposite wall and your shoulder ached from where the impact was. You grunted in pain as he grabbed your biceps, shoving you back against the wall. He kneed you in the stomach and you gasped out a cough, bending in pain. He took two steps back, holding his arms out.
“Come on! Fight back, this needs to look like a real fight.” So that was his plan. He was going to kill you and make it look like self defense. He knew that your team was after his partner and he was going to try to get away from the whole thing.
You kicked him in the stomach and he stumbled back into the table. He looked back at you, holding his stomach with a grin. “That's it.” You swung a punch at him but he dodged. “Don't get too cocky, now.” He punched you across the face, hard enough that you stumbled into the table. You braced your hands on it to catch yourself and were met with the picture of the missing girl. You took a few breaths, steadying yourself.
You weren't going to let him get away. Your team would think that Hugh Rodgers was it and that it's case closed. If he killed you now, he'd walk free. He'd probably move to a new town and start kidnapping kids all over again.
He grabbed your biceps and threw you onto the floor. “I wonder what I'll say. That you went wild and tried to attack me. Maybe I'll say you were sick. Something mental. There's plenty of mental diseases out there that make people... do things." He said menacingly. There was no way your team would ever believe that. No way Spencer would believe that.
You groaned, laying on your side, holding your stomach. You looked back at him and he stared at you with wild eyes before punching himself in the face. Your eyes widened. “I'll say you tried to kill me. It was self defense.” He said as he stalked closer to you. You tried to scramble back but he grabbed your ankle, yanking you forward and straddling you on his knees. You reached to the side, grabbing your gun. Your arm moved back to point it at him but he grabbed your wrist before you could, slamming your hand into the ground multiple times until you dropped the gun.
“I think shooting you is too easy, you know? I mean, you're wild, attacking me, I- I think I would kill you a different way. He spotted your heavy water bottle, raising it before hitting you across the face with it. “You put up a good fight. I had to really beat the life out of you.” He emphasized the word ‘beat’ by hitting you again. You felt blood trickle down your face but you couldn't tell from where.
The rest was kind of a blur, you heard a slam as the door was kicked open. You saw blurry figures rushing into the room, catching the cops arm before he could swing at you again. Morgan yanks the man off of you as Hotch drops to his knees next to you. JJ stood frozen in the doorway, her eyes wide as she stared down at you.
“Hey, can you hear me?” He presses two fingers to the side of your neck, feeling for your pulse as your eyes peel open.
“Hotch.” You breathe out, your voice raspy.
“We’re gonna get you help, okay?”
“Hotch… it’s him.” You breathed, your eyes fluttering closed.
“What?”
“It’s him… He’s the unsub, his partner... Hugh, they...” You mumbled, your eyes opening again. “It’s him.” Hotch registered my words and looked over at the cop that Morgan was cuffing.
Tumblr media
Hotch, Morgan, and JJ had gone to the first address that Penelope gave them and found nothing. Before Hotch could drive them to the second address as backup for the others, JJ felt a twang in her gut. Something was wrong.
"We have to go back to the precinct." She said suddenly.
"What?" Morgan glanced at her confused.
"Something's wrong, I- I don't know, we have to go back." Hotch looked at her for a few moments before he nodded. If there was one thing he knew, it was to trust a gut feeling.
-
Emily, Spencer, and Rossi brought the unsub in, cuffed and passed off to an officer, heading off to a holding cell. They suddenly noticed paramedics in the conference room.
“What’s going on?” Spencer asked Morgan who was waiting outside. Morgan stayed silent, a look on his face that Spencer couldn’t figure out. He glanced in the conference room, seeing a pair of feet sticking out from behind the table. Wait. He knew those shoes. Those were the little black Mary Jane's that you loved to wear. “Is that...” He moved towards the conference room, his heart pounding.
“Reid.” Morgan caught him, holding him back, surprised with the amount of effort it took.
“Let me go!” Spencer shouted your name. Emily walked past them, moving towards the conference room. She stopped in the doorway and Hotch looked up, making eye contact with her from his spot next to you. She could see the worry in his eyes as he quickly looked back at you as the paramedics worked on you.
She caught JJ's eyes who started towards her, leading her out of the room. The team formed a half circle, Spencer's breathing ragged as he fought the urge to sprint into that conference room and beg someone to tell him what was going on. Everyone looked at JJ expectantly.
"I... something happened. One of the cops-" She glanced towards the holding cell where the police officer sat in custody. "He attacked her. He was working with Rodgers, they..." JJ trailed off, clearly shaken up. Emily put a comforting arm around her shoulders, pulling her into her side. Spencer let out a shuddery breath, pressing his palms to his eyes until his vision went staticky.
"Oh god. Oh god." He whispered. They all turned when they heard the paramedics bringing the stretcher out of the conference room, you strapped to it. There was so much blood Spencer had to look away.
Hotch trailed out after them, tugging a hand through his hair. He sent a look to Emily who nodded in understanding, letting go of JJ to follow the medics. She rode in the ambulance with you as Hotch slowly made his way to the team.
"Is she gonna be okay?" Rossi asked and Hotch shook his head, frazzled.
"I don't know."
-
In the ambulance, before they could put anesthetics on, you remembered something. You attempted to shove the mask away.
“Wait. I need… Emily…” She moved closer, grabbing your hand.
“What is it?” Her eyebrows furrowed in concern.
“The girl…”
“What girl?”
“There’s a file on the table… Elise…” I huffed out a breath. “Elise Miller. She’s another victim. She- she was a patient, you need to-” The beeping of the heart rate monitor had sped up and Emily noticed that your breathing was getting heavier.
“Okay, I got it. I’ll call Hotch.” She nodded and you relaxed. They put the mask over your face, giving anesthetics.
Tumblr media
The steady beeping of the heart monitor comforted Spencer as he sat in the hospital room, in an uncomfortable chair next to your bed. His elbows were planted on his knees, his face buried in his hands as his leg bounced anxiously.
"Spence?" Your voice was rough as you called out to him. His head snapped up and he stared at you wide eyed. Your heart ached when you saw his glassy, red rimmed eyes and the bags under his eyes. His gaze trailed over your face, the bruises, the scars, the bandage over your fixed broke nose. "Am I still pretty?" You asked, trying to lighten the mood. He just looked down. "Baby, come here." You reached out for him and he stood from the chair, carefully sitting on the bed next to your hip.
"I thought I lost you." You cupped Spencer's face in your hand, tilting it up so he would meet your eyes.
"Oh, Spencer. It's okay. I'm right here." Spencer reached up to take your other hand in both of his, squeezing three times. I. Love. You.
"Can I hug you?" He asked, wary of hurting you. You nodded, opening your eyes. He leans forward, his arms wrapping around you as his chin rests on your shoulder. "I was so worried when I saw you on the ground. I thought you were-" He cuts himself off with a gasp, muffling his sob in your neck. You wrapped your arms around him, kissing his head.
"I'm okay." You whispered. Spencer felt guilty for making you comfort him when you were the one who was hurt. He pulled back, his hands finding yours,
"I'm sorry, does anything hurt?"
"No, no, I'm fine." You assured him. And you were. The pain meds you were on were helping with the constant ache in your face and your boyfriend being with you helped a ton. "I just don't think I'll be able to use that water bottle again." You said with a small frown.
"I'll buy you a new one." Spencer promised. And he would. Just like he'd made sure the bastard who did this to you rots in prison. Just like he'd make sure your recovery was as smooth as possible and just like he'd make sure you knew you were loved and properly taken care of.

Fright Night! Multi-Fic
The local fair has a Halloween fright night! Actors and zombies and terror, oh my! You drag your boyfriend to it...how does that go for you?
Gojo, Geto, Toji, Higuruma and Ino
18+, NSFW/suggestive in parts
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Gojo: Goes in smiling. Obnoxious laughter the whole way, and it only worsens when you're screaming at every single actor. As you cringe away from a dead-eyed bride, Gojo tickles your ribs until you squirm.
"Awww, baby, you scared? You're scared, right?"
As if in answer to his question, and received with heaps of cackles, you screech when some hideous creature with no teeth and bloodstained rags lunges at you from the dark.
"Satoru-- hold my hand--"
"--ahhh, yeah, okay...c'mere."
He pulls you in, and you scuttle to keep up with his long-legged stride. Still, the horrors continue and so does his mockery.
His teasing is relentless. Your fear is gradually replaced by indignant prickling anger. You take your chance, when it comes.
"You go in first," you beg Satoru, outside a horrifying old room full of dolls, "please, Satoru, check it out first before I go--"
He huffs as if actually bothered, but his shit-eating grin gives him away as he ambles inside. "Yeah, yeah, don't get your panties in a twi--"
You promptly shove the door closed with a bang! and yank a chair beneath the doorknob. You've heard rumours about this room; you are not disappointed. Satoru's voice sounds wary. The doorknob rattles just once, and you bite your lip with a smile.
"--hey...hey, babe, the...the dolls are moving."
Nervous laughter from the room. You try to hide the laughter in your voice.
"Oh yeah? You okay?"
"--OH, FU-- yeah, I'm fine. You know me, I'm the stronge--"
Satoru's voice cuts off with a profoundly girly screech, and the doorknob rattles violently while you twist with silent hilarity, tears streaming down your cheeks as you choke out.
"Ohhhh, nooo, Satoru, the door's stuck!"
More screeches, bangs and horrifying eerie noises, but you're too busy pressed forwards on your knees, laughing and laughing to the confused looks of passers-by.
"The dolls aren't dolls! THE DOLLS AREN'T DOLLS! BABE! LET ME OUT!"
A guy leans down to you, pointing at the door.
"Hey, uh...can we go in?"
You wipe tears of mirth from your eyes, bursting into laughter as you hear Satoru scream again.
"No...no, sorry buddy. This one's gonna be taken for a while, I think."
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Geto: Total con-artist. Though he croons to you, cloudsoft and soothing through your horror, he's the puppet master. The horror engineer. The king of manipulation.
Every time another actor leaps out to set fear aflame in your veins, Suguru only pretends to be surprised; he isn't. He's already led you around this maze three times, anticipating the flow of the actors, and bleeding you for maximum terror.
He doesn't want to admit how his cock twitches against his thigh every time you break down into a whimpering mess; but, he can't deny that he's getting off on this.
"Shhhh, shhh shhh shhh," he soothes, one arm holding you to his side while his lips and nose ghost the shell of your ear, "shhh, baby, it's okay...it's all just pretend. I'm here. I've got you."
You look confused, your memory tangled by fear; "I...I could swear we've been this way already, Suguru--"
"Trust me. I know the way. These mazes are all samey. You're just getting mixed up, silly. Come on."
He has distracted you again, of course. He walks forwards, looking back to you with a smile. You frown, looking down at Suguru's two empty hands...and wondering whose hand you are holding.
The scream you scream, as Suguru seamlessly replaces himself with a white-eyed, rotten-fleshed actor, sends a dribble of pre-cum down his thigh.
He's just waiting until he can get you home, switch off all the lights, and continue the scare trail straight into bed.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Toji: Utterly unbothered, and smirks his way around. Some of the actors approach, take one look at him, and then turn tail to scare someone else. Anyone else.
But halfway round, he gets bored, and disappears. You're left, abandoned; alone. Toji wants to get in on the action.
You're surrounded by screams, and silence, and dry ice in the dark, and you turn on the spot, spinning, frantic, your heart pounding, your tongue dry, sweat dripping down the small of your back--
Until the sound of metal on metal. Something scraping along a wall. Footsteps heavier than your own heartbeat. And, the one small light source you have is blocked, as a monster of a man in a boiler suit, mask and axe fills the doorway.
The whimper that leaves you is audible; "...Toji?" As if you could be so lucky.
Silence. His heavy, laboured breathing. The footsteps begin towards you, slowly at first...before he runs.
You run, too, shrieking like a banshee, too loud for you to hear the occasional laugh beneath the monstrous man's roars. You find yourself chased down to a dead end, your back and palms flat against the wall, chest heaving, and he approaches slowly, watching you behind his mask.
The blade of the (very blunt) axe strokes down, down, down the centre line of your torso to stop just over your sex, and you whimper, mortified by the trickle of arousal that creeps through you.
"T-Toji--" You whisper to yourself, "T-Toji, where the fuck--please please please help me--oh my god ohmygod ohmygod--"
A shiver seems to go through the man, who leans down and whispers, in a voice so familiar that your jaw drops.
"Like bein' chased, huh? What about bein' caught? You like bein' caught?"
Judging by the way his boiler suit tents, Toji likes it, at least.
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Higuruma: Has not got the mental wherewithal for this, today. Perhaps another day, but not today. And it infuriates him, when his colourful imagination and adrenaline threaten to overtake his inherent logic that this is all just make-believe.
"For fuck's sa-- pull yourself together, Hiromi," he groans as another horrifying creature-person scuttles past in a contortionist twist. You're carried on his back, squealing and kicking into him, while he huffs at you with beleaguered fondness.
Every time something makes him jump, a noise of bewildered shock bursts out, and he growls at himself, running his hand back through his hair and pressing his forehead against a nearby wall.
A few actors, however, take one look at him and treat him as part of the furniture. Hiromi frowns.
"Some of them think I look scared enough, apparently."
You mumbled into his neck. "Scary enough, I think you mean. Look--"
You gently turn his face to a flaking full length mirror. Hiromi drinks himself in; still in a dishevelled suit and tie, sweatstains, coffee drip on his white shirt, and dark circles that surely have to be make-up.
Suddenly, it clicks.
"Ahhh," Hiromi breathes putting you down to your screeching indignation; he doesn't notice as you press yourself to the wall, instead rubbing his face and clothes on a discarded 'bloody' rag.
By the time he's finished, stepping slowly over to you, chin tilted down and looking down at you with beetle-black eyes, you feel a shiver running through you. He's...frightening. Clearly some awful spectral businessman, covered in blood and dirt and horror.
"You...wow. Yeah, Hiromi, you look...great."
Hiromi shrugs you onto his back with a satisfied little chuckle, and the rest of your scare trail is relatively unhindered. Passers-by skirt round him with a wary gaze, and the sinister little smile on his face only adds to the effect.
You stroke one finger down his chest, sultry and whispering.
"Hey, Hiro...stay like this, later, for...activities."
"You are utterly twisted, my love. I absolutely can."
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Ino: Just as scared as you. Absolute chocolate teapot. You'd have done better taking a puppy with you, probably, because the actors approach Ino thinking he can take it, and he absolutely can't.
If Takuma could have jumped into your arms, a la Scooby Doo, he would have. Alas, he simply pulls his balaclava down in groaning terror. When other visitors then scream at him, too, thinking he's part of the crew, he raises his balaclava back up with a suppressed sob.
"Baby-- I can't take it-- I'm too weak-- my heart--"
"Takuma, I--" You shriek, too, when some ghastly woman in a bloodstained nightdress appears. She runs for you both, and you and Takuma sprint away, hand-in-hand, half-laughing, and half-crying.
By the time you round a corner, slamming the door to trap yourselves in a dark room, you and Ino hold each other, panting in the gloom. You feel a familiar hard press against your belly, and look up at Takuma with utter disbelief. He blushes, his lower lip drawing up and looking aside with a grumble.
"--are you excited, Takuma--"
"--aww, shit, babe, you know he don't make any sense--"
His words cut off with a strangled moan as you grip him through his pants, and, biting your lip, lower to your knees. Takuma's jaw drops, his cock twitching up as it's released. You whisper up at him in the dark.
"...emotional support blow-job?"
"F-fuck yeah, emotional support blow-job, I can be your hero after that--"
A few people come to investigate the ghostly little moans coming from your room, but Ino blocks the door with one trembling, jittering foot until the moans crescendo.
