The fandom collectively sort of agreed that Zelda was a bad cook without a lot of evidence
Tumblr media
That was until Age of Calamity came along and actually proved the fandom right!
Tumblr media
However, there is a side quest in Tears of the Kingdom that implies she can cook actually
Tumblr media
And the only reasonable explanation to this is that Link taught her, obviously

Ghost kitty 🥺
Started as a study sketch for Remlit anatomy but ended as a full piece + onions…
Also I like to think a bittersweet headcanon that the ghost kitty were owned by one of the Skyloft resident that has long passed away (more likely Pheoni, the hand ghost in the dorm toilet) and maybe an extra sidequest that you need to befriend the kitty and play with it so it can finally depart peacefully with its owner.
(Might be doing a short illustrated fic about this, so keep an eye for it!)

Imagine how terrifying it would be for Link to be sat at the reservoir alone at night. Then suddenly Sidon does one of those great white shark jumps into the air. Like the water was still and pitch black like THAT WOULD BE TERRIFYING. LINK WOULD BE TERRIFIED.
Sidon thought he was just doing a cool trick to surprise his bf and gave Link a hernia.

Has anyone ever questioned how/why all the Links are named, well, Link?
I mean it’s obviously not a common name. Does some kind of divine intervention from Hylia herself take place the moment his soul is reborn, and his parents are just overcome with the undeniable urge to name their new baby Link? Family and friends be like “but I thought you were going to do Joe for a boy or Jane for a girl?” And the parents just stare back at them with these creepily blank faces and reply “his name is Link” well um… alrighty then…

[BotW: Family and Legacy] - Passing on the Gremlin Wisdom from one gremlin generation to the next.
Link and his sister got their Gremlin nature from Grandpa Eishun. The OG Gremlin of the family. Their dad and Grandma do not approve on some of the Gremlin advices.
Also Link is 10 and his sister, 7 years old here. They sometimes visit their grandparents in Kakariko Village with their Dad. They have their own Sheikah outfits ready by said grandparents.

I think a lot of players have Sidon as the first charismatic character they've encountered in a game. I'm no exception, so I more than understand his popularity among fans. It's a shame we weren't given more of his backstory in the game. Although I found out later that he's one of the DLC characters, and there's even a canon view of him when he was a kid, but... I NEED MORE!!!
So... I guess you could call it my headcanon????? I rather like to think that he and Link managed to have at least a little interaction in the past. And that Link remembering Sidon would be surprised at how much he would have grown in 100 years.

My silly little Link headcannons
hii again I'm very bored rn sooo
again for Zelda, it's only the major ones, sorry obscure link fans
Tumblr media
also wtf is this gif I found 😭😭
Skyward Sword
Tumblr media
✯has the biggest crush on his Zelda bc they're so close
✯like it's VERY obvious how they feel about eachother
✯His fav flavour of ice cream is Oreo ice cream but he also loves toffee and vanilla too
✯He can talk but he prefers sign language (dialect of sign language may vary on preference ((like ASL or BSL or LSE, ect)) ) and talks to save time in an emergency in case the other person may not know sign, but DOES sign if they do
For this one, I thought about the cutscenes where he's explaining something (like the current location or condition of Zelda) to another character and we can see his mouth moving.
✯no because if video games existed in skyloft, i just know that he's playing stardew valley and papas freezeria. I can feel it in my BONES
✯Definitely woke up under his bed once and hit his head on the bedframe
✯him and Groose have insult battles but then they get ice cream together after
Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask
Tumblr media
✯somebody get this poor boy a therapist and a hug PLEASE
Twilight Princess
✯it felt natural to him when he transformed using the Zora mask in mm, because both the models for adult link and Zora link are the same size
✯mute
✯i think he played the ocarina like a recorder (aka with no experience at all) and did each note individually and the magic of the ocarina of time was probably like "there is NO WAY that I'm letting this kid tarnish my reputation goddamit" and made the songs sound nicer after he had played all the notes
✯forgot once that he was a kid again and walked to Romani ranch to get some chateau Romani and was genuinely surprised when Cremia said no
Tumblr media
✯Had more of a genuine connection to Midna, but still had a friendship with princess Zelda
Wind Waker
✯felt a strange familial connection to the hero of shades when he met him and made link want to find out who the hero of shades was
✯does NOT like how short he is when he transforms into a wolf
✯Best poker face in history
Tumblr media
Breath of the Wild
✯Gives Aryll piggybacks when she wants
✯would gladly eat his grandma's soup for the rest of his life
✯His grandma gave him the recipe to her soup when he left to discover the new Hyrule
✯Has the most major and unhidable (that's not a word but who cares) side eye in the history of time
✯If the events of WW didn't happen, I think he would have grown up to be a cartographer or he would REALLY like making his own maps
✯sorry to get all angsty but I don't think he wanted to kill Ganondorf. I just don't. I don't think either of them wanted to kill eachother. I feel like Link feels guilty about it because it's so obvious that it was only self defense after the triforce was touched by king Daphnes and it literally drove Ganondorf insane
Tbh I'd go crazy too if something I had wanted so badly got taken by another person even tho I literally got SEALED IN ANOTHER FUCKING REALM FOR A LONG AMOUNT OF TIME for it
Again sorry for no totk for this one pls no spoilers
Tumblr media
✯Gets ambushed by Yiga so many times that he knows their names
*Yiga poofs into existence* "IM HERE TO KILL YOU LINK, IN REVENGE FOR MASTER KOHGA!!!!"
"oh hi jerry, nice weather eh?" -link
✯After he saved princess Zelda, he took a nap that lasted 4 ENTIRE days
✯not even the sound of kass' accordion could wake his ass up
✯very obvious but if he wasn't a knight, he would be a chef. Not sous chef. He would be head chef.
✯His hands are probably rough as hell from all that Hero Of Hyrule™-ing he has done
✯despite being able to lift heavy objects, his arms are still noodles

I kind of miss those childhood YouTube parody shock videos that were full of really shitty dark humor content that I had no idea about at the time 😭😭 so I decided to do so with zelda bc I miss seeing main characters being peices of shit out of canon
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Keep in mind, I don't support those types of videos anymore but idk.. I just kind of missed that trashy vibe of my childhood.)
It was also kind of funny imagining parody characters where you take their personality into the worst version of themselves 🤔

About Time’s trauma
(Yeah we’re doing this)
So, I like to think that the Hero of Time does not remember the time he spent in the spirit realm. He spent seven years in solitary confinement… the least the goddesses could do was remove that burden from his consciousness.
Except they didn’t, completely.
Because when he sleeps, he doesn’t dream - he returns to that place, that endless, white void. Perhaps it’s a blip in the system, an aspect that the goddesses forgot to take into account. Maybe it’s intentional. He wouldn’t know.
Every day, he wakes up with no recollection of any of it. But whoever’s with him (read: Malon), can see him thrashing and clearly not having a good time while he is asleep. She asks about it, of course – several times, to no avail. Because he genuinely can’t answer her questions.
But he talks in his sleep, and Malon is able to piece together the little bits of information she gets.
Anyway there’s that and then there’s tHe mOoN

Just want to put out there the interpretation of the Golden Goddesses as neutral entities.
Hylia and Demise—as subset of all creation—are implicitly both products of the Goddesses. The dynamic of opposing cosmic forces could arguably start with them. While “good and evil” are often attributed to these two, it might be more accurate to say that they represent “enthalpy and entropy.”
Of course, another creation of the Goddesses is wish-granting Sacred MacGuffin that would reflect the heart of the mortal who found it. Seems like a wild choice to make such a thing available at all… unless it was part of a larger design.
While it’s stated that the Goddesses gave Hylia the Triforce for safekeeping, perhaps it was less because Hylia was fundamentally “good” and it needed to be kept away from “evil,” so much as she was a protector of (her) people. She did what she had to do to build a succession plan after she died, but it could easily be assumed that it was the Hylians who decided to lean into it and transform Zelda's lineage into a full-on theocratic monarchy.
One interpretation of a cosmic design is that everything moves in a cycle: day/night, the moon and tides, the seasons, and—in a system where people are canonically reincarnated—life and death. Perhaps a larger cycle of creation, destruction, rebuilding, and collapse was baked in from the very beginning. After all, some classifications of forest fires can ultimately help the long term health of forests. Sometimes overgrowth can disrupt the balance of a larger ecosystem. Is the ivy that covers a tree “good” or “evil,” as it endangers the life of the tree, but benefits local pollinators, and reduces additional C02? Moral judgement is a human construct, and the narratives around morality at such an abstractly high level are going to be inaccurate (and intrinsically biased) when anchored to a perspective that cannot see the full picture; which is something that is inaccessible to people.
But fast forward several epochs. How interesting that the first person to find the Triforce (after all the Skyward Sword shenanigans) was Ganondorf. Was it because of tireless research? Luck? Total coincidence? Ocarina of Time made it difficult to tell, though the histories written from the Hylian perspective claim that he “stole” it from the dominant theocratic monarchy (which is one way to defensively interpret the event, given how much his acquisition of the Triforce could have completely undermined the authority of the Royal Family as a divinely-ordained institution).
But then in Twilight Princess, the Triforce of Power was mysteriously—likely divinely—granted to Ganondorf in his moment of need. This was no coincidence, and it speaks of his role in a greater cosmic design. He was given this power because he was meant to have it. Why? Maybe we’ll canonically learn more in TotK.

Headcanon time:
Ravio and Link don’t know what they are counterparts.
They aren’t identical, neither physically nor mentally. Hyrule and Lorule are parallel universes, but they don’t mirror each other completely. They share the same spirit, or they play the same role in their respective kingdom’s history. It’s like they’re born from the same soul, but the traits present differently in each of them:
— They’re both great craftsmen, but while Ravio is creative and invents the most intricate and complex magical tools, Link is a blacksmith who crafts with a practical and straightforward approach.
— They’re both courageous, of course, but while Link is nearly reckless, throwing himself into action with little regard for his own safety, Ravio has an unwavering emotional and mental stamina and has had to face his own fears several times.
— Both of them are “made for solo work”, if that makes any sense. I like to believe that the Hero is always reborn with certain traits, and one of them is an affinity for working alone, and difficulty getting close to others. It’s a sort of instinct given to them in order to help them serve their purpose as the kingdom’s Hero, even if it affects their social life. Anyway, Link is silent and blunt, and can be very difficult to converse with or even get along with. Ravio, on the other hand, is more approachable, but also very private and secretive. Both of them have a tendency to be awkward and perhaps a bit inappropriate.
– Both of them are affiliated with the royal family in their respective universes. Ties in with them playing the same part in the history of their kingdom.
I haven’t thought of how it would be if one of them found out, or what would make them find out that they are counterparts. Any thoughts?

Other than doing it for hobby, I think Skyward does carving and or drawing to help him sleep too. Somewhat like something comforting to calm his nerves too when he has nightmares / getting bullied by Groose and his gang. I also love the small detail the Skyward Link model in-game you can also see that he has those "eyebags lines" under his eyes (which the other Links doesn't have), which might be implying he's not having enough sleep.

Zelda and Plain ol' Steve
Tumblr media
I finally drew Steve! He's who I headcannon as Zelda's lover post-TOTK. You can read about them in more detail here~
In short, Steve is a farmer/cucco wrangler in Hateno Village that Zelda passes each day on her way to and from teaching. Zelda grows fond of his soft heart and love for nature, and Steve falls for Zelda's passion towards teaching and her love for Hyrule.
Link calls Steve "wonderbread" as he's bland. He's plain. If he were a spice, he'd be flour. Link cannot BELIEVE this is who Zelda has fallen for. Link and Steve bicker. (but Steve has an army of cuccos, so...)
