So ima simp for Zenyatta so bad- and I’ve been craving a certain side of him. The -ahem- yandere side of him. You don’t have to write a fic, but head cannons or a lil drabble on how you think he would be as a yandere would be much appreciated.

Nonnie, you are so valid! Receiving this ask got me really excited to write for this blog again, so I've been working hard on this. I've never (intentionally) written yandere before, so I hope I was able to do this idea justice for you. Enjoy!~

it starts small. you catch zenyatta’s gaze lingering in your direction for an extra moment, just long enough that you notice, but brief enough that you dismiss it. perhaps it was all in your head. 

suspicion turns to butterflies as his interest in you becomes more pronounced. when he speaks to you, it’s in a gentle, even tone. he makes time to spend with you, often accompanying you for walks in gardens. he recites poetry and philosophical musings, and you can get lost in his lilting verse.

while zenyatta’s voice is soothing, his words are complex and often leave you feeling more dazed than comforted. you get the feeling he knows he’s talking circles around you. when you ask clarifying questions, he laughs, his chuckles light as blossoms on the air.

although zenyatta has a reputation for keeping a cool and effortlessly calm exterior, he struggles to keep himself that way around you. the prana, the life force energy that flows through his body and makes him alive, becomes overwhelmingly frenetic in your presence. he might shake or stutter. this feeling is especially exacerbated by even small inklings of jealousy or anxiety within him.

when it comes to himself, zenyatta also values inner peace and calm, devotion, honesty. he quickly finds that your presence interrupts that balance he has worked so hard to maintain. even when you are not around, his mind swirls with visions of you - your voice, your hair, your scent. 

above all, he seeks balance, and he knows one thing for certain: your very existence throws him off-kilter, for better or for worse. sometimes he feels devastatingly hopeless at the idea of you leaving him for something different, more suited to your lifestyle, and he’ll soothe himself with healing energies. and sometimes he buzzes so vibrantly with joy that you are in his life at all, and he’ll bring himself back to the plane of reality with discord and malaise. he occasionally excuses himself to center his feelings in this way. but as you grow closer and he falls deeper into his obsessive love, leaving your side only serves to worsen this imbalance.

when he finally confesses his feelings to you, his words spill out frenetically, as if he couldn’t keep this chaotic love inside his body for a moment longer. 

“I once followed the Iris, thinking it would be my salvation, the only path to enlightenment for my people. I now realize the error in my ways. I should have always been devoted to you.”

one day, in zenyatta’s personal meditation room, you come across a worn leather journal with your name lovingly embossed into the cover in omnic script. Intrigued, you thumb through it. every page spills with written word about you - thoughts, musings, meditations, poetry, even records of little things you said to him that had been mundane, benign. glancing at his tidy shelves, it dawns on you that this is only the most recent volume of several. the earliest journals date back to before you even remember being introduced.

at night, he spoons you protectively, pressing every inch of his body to yours, reciting ancient spiritual poetry until you are lulled to sleep. not needing to rest himself, he keeps watch over you until dawn, wondering the whole time how he is fortunate enough to have you. sometimes you wake with the taste of metal on your tongue, and the thought of his hands in your mouth shivers in your mind.

“i wish to surround myself with nothing but you. I meditate on the image of crawling inside you, of taking up all the space within you until I know you are mine, and I am yours.”

he is remarkably protective of you, and although his face shows little expression, when he is enraged, a ferocious glint appears in his eye. when you talk to another person, anyone he sees as a romantic or physical threat, he touches you gently on the small of your back, barely concealing his trembling.

it isn’t long before his protective impulses get the better of him, and he insists on being with you at all times like a bodyguard. sometimes his obsessive needs grow so strong that he might forbid you from leaving his room at the temple, where he can keep an eye on you and know you’re safe.

“i want to know you like I know myself. i will devote every moment i am granted to wrapping myself in your soul, in everything you are, until you have permeated every iota of my being so thoroughly, I can no longer tell where you end and I begin.”

i hc that ram and zen "created" discord together. zen's discord orb could be the original, technically nonlethal version (bc it's just a debuff) and ram's abilities and weapon could be a more advanced version of it that he further developed after he left the monastery. also i hc the damage on zen's face (you can see it on his ow2 model and in his invasion cutscene) is a scar from the time when ram "nearly got him killed" that was mentioned is his short story

[Genyatta Villager & Monk AU] 🐉🌕

(This post turned into a fanfic halfway through, so be prepared.)

Genji is a simple villager and Zen is a monk. They are both human in this AU.

Some monks in Thailand and other Asian countries collect food offerings from locals by walking around their villages together. Later on, they all share the food.

So what if Zen was one of those monks and he would frequently interact with Genji, while he was collecting alms. They usually didn't have much time to talk during these visits, but they would still leave a lasting impression on each other. Their short chats were pleasant.

Slowly Genji would develop a crush on Zen and try to cook really yummy stuff for him!! (Maybe bake him sweet goods. It would be easier to distinguish later on, since similar food is often thrown together.) And every time he would return, Genji would ask him if he liked his previous meal. Zen would compliment his cooking skills and be impressed by his generosity. (Obviously Genji had no ulterior motives *cough cough*.. just a really generous guy!) Of course Zen would thank him every time. Genji loved to see his happy expression.

Not all of his attempts at cooking & baking were successful though. In his constant attempt to impress the monk, he would try out new recipes. It came as no surprise that he almost managed to set the kitchen on fire multiple times. His brother Hanzo was not happy about the smell of burned sugar in the house, so he would question Genji's newfound obsession with cooking. Of course Genji wouldn't disclose why exactly he was doing this. Hanzo managed to connect the dots eventually though.

When Genji's attempts at cooking failed, he would feel pretty bad about it. Zen would not see him during these days, which also left him a little sad. Hanzo would come up to him and give him a small offering and tell him that Genji was busy on that day. (In reality, he was just sulking in his room.)

After some days had passed, Genji still didn't show up to greet Zen. At this point Hanzo was tired of making up excuses for his brother and confronted him, as he knocked on his door. He didn't open..

"You're staying in again? Aren't you going to give an offering today? You know it's rude."

"..I don't have anything to give."

"Then just make something. Even if it's just rice."

"That's not good enough."

Hanzo was sighing under his breath.

"They're just monks, you know. None of them expect a five star meal!"

"..."

"Also.. someone is asking to see you. And I'm tired of lying about your.. circumstance."

"..."

The silent treatment he got from his brother was agitating. Be damned if you try to help, be damned if you don't.

Before Hanzo decided to either break the door down or leave, Genji had come up to open it. Hanzo could clearly see that he had been crying. His anger faded quickly.

"How is he..?"

"Why don't you ask him yourself?"

Genji looked down. Hanzo sighed once more.

"He seems sad about your absence."

"R-really?" Genji's eyes widened.

"Yes. So how about you stop sulking and actually go out to see him."

"..Aren't they gone by now?"

"Of course they're gone, they're busy people." Hanzo took a determined breath. "That's why you should go over to the monastery for a visit."

This suggestion took Genji by surprise.

"Visit? I'm not sure-"

Hanzo interrupted him quickly, as he was getting frustrated with his brother's antics.

"Just go! They will probably be done with their meal, by the time you get there. Who knows, maybe they'll even invite you to eat with them." He continued.

"Although they might have to shave your head first." He added threateningly.

"..Wait, is that actually required?" Genji asked with a worry in his tone.

Hanzo did not answer that question, instead he grabbed his brother's arm and pulled him out of the room. As soon as Genji was pushed outside, the door behind him slammed shut. Before Genji could protest, he was interrupted once again.

"Have fun, I suppose." Steps slowly disappeared behind the door.

For a few seconds, Genji stood outside his house, dumbfounded. The sun was shining on his back. It was warm. He heard some critters in the bush. The air was fresh. He could feel the anxiety leave his body. He turned to look at the road ahead and made his way up the overgrown walkway. Hopefully his tears would dry until he got there. (Otherwise he would have to blame his ‘allergies’)

He would eventually reach the monastery, but he felt a bit lost. He took a deep breath and approached some monks at the front gate. Genji asked for a visit and mentioned Zenyatta's name. The monks welcomed him with open arms, although he had to wait outside the monastery halls. He took a seat on a small wooden bench and looked at the well-maintained garden. There was a big, old tree right behind him, and he was able to lean on it.

The two monks he had met outside, assured him they would tell Zenyatta about his arrival. As he waited, he was worried that they had forgotten about him. But sometimes you just had to be patient.

Eventually the same two monks stepped outside, together with another familiar face. Genji could feel his heart rate quickening, at the sight of the monk. He looked really pretty, as the light hit him past the shade of the trees. (That's what Genji thought at least, and if someone would disagree.. they probably had bad taste!)

As soon as Zenyatta had spotted those dark eyes, which were already looking back at him, he couldn't help but smile. Genji smiled back and waved at him. The monk was clearly excited to see him, as he quickly made his way over. The other two monks had turned back, to enter the monastery once again. Genji focused his attention on the man before him. Zenyatta broke the silence first.

"Oh Genji! you came to visit? How unexpected, but a pleasant surprise indeed!" He said lightheartedly.

Genji chuckled nervously. "I did.. I wanted to see you."

Zenyatta looked at him with a friendly light in his eyes. Then he sat down next to him.

"How thoughtful of you. I'm glad to see you as well. I missed tasting your food. Hanzo told me you were busy."

Genji couldn't lie to Zenyatta. At least not entirely.

"Actually.. I didn't feel so well these past days."

The monk turned his head and gave him a worried look.

"Oh no, were you sick?"

Genji thought about what he should say. But he couldn't think properly right now. Considering that his brain was pretty fried from his own thoughts and today's interactions.. he settled on the truth.

"No. I just felt bad. I couldn't bring myself to see you, because.. I just failed to make any offerings! I tried d-different recipes, I bought fresh ingredients from the m-market and it ended up tasting horrible a-and I had to throw them out and then I almost burned the kitchen down!"

Genji came to a halt and breathed heavily. He felt like he had confessed to some horrible crime. (Oversharing wasn't a sin, but he would probably feel embarrassed about it as soon as he got back home.)

Zenyatta was taken aback, while he was trying to process the new information.

"Genji.. that's.." The monk tried to find his words.

"That's what you were worried about?"

"I know, it's stupid."

Zenyatta assured him that it wasn't. "No, it's not. Sometimes we all overthink simple things. Even if you have nothing to give, you can always come see me." The monk's words were kind as always.

Genji gave him a sad smile. Zenyatta gently put a hand on his shoulder.

"We are always grateful about anything that is given to us. Even if you just cooked a pot of plain, white rice."

"..Hanzo said the same thing."

Zenyatta chuckled. "Did he?"

Genji became flustered thinking about his own irrational behavior.

"Maybe you should listen to him sometimes." The monk suggested.

Genji let out a big sigh and leaned back on the tree behind him. He looked up the trunk and into the foliage.

"I can be a bit stubborn."

Zenyatta shifted his weight. He leaned his own shoulder on Genji's.

There it was again. That quickening heartbeat. Genji tried desperately to be normal about this, as his eyes widened at the contact. Zenyatta slid his arm around Genji's. He could definitely feel his cheeks reddening. He feared that if he made eye contact his brain would short-circuit.

"Did you really set your kitchen on fire?"

"N-no! Almost. I almost did. There is a difference."

Zenyatta chuckled once again. The sound was ringing in Genji's ear.

"Alright, but please be careful next time."

Genji closed his eyes. The sun was relentlessly trying to blind him, if Zenyatta's smile wasn't already doing the same. But he felt alright. Maybe even happy, if he could put his pride aside.

He listened to Zenyatta's voice, telling him about this and that. He should visit more often, he thought to himself. But for now, he was simply enjoying the moment.

Summary: In a barbecue party with Overwatch, Hanzo had a problem to keep his feelings from you after spot you with Cassidy that was definitely flirting you close to the river. Hanzo just...well...he followed his emotions and everyone saw it, Genji is quite curiou about his brother's action.

Genji- ...Brother...?

Hanzo- ...What...?

Genji- At the barbecue party...at the river yesterday... what was that?

Hanzo- What do you mean, Genji? *Open one of his eyes*

Genji- That jealous thing with y/n.

Hanzo- What...?! Jealous? *Looked at him offended* What jealous?!

Genji- With y/n and Cassidy, Hanzo *roll his eyes* What was that reaction of yours about? *he laughed*

Hanzo- *taked a deep breath closing his eyes again* I only act with meaning and follow my emotions, but emotions are unlogical and sometimes stupid. I do not act without in impulse. 

Genji- Yeah...sure *Hold his laugh* No impulse? You pushed Cassidy into the river!

Hanzo- I was only being playful. 

Genji- You don't have this sense of humor, brother.

Hanzo- Hey, I have great jokes! *Looked at him and soon goes back to meditation* I do have sense of humor.

Genji- Hanzo, I'm not a fool! *laughed sitting in fromt of hi brother that looked at him confused* And you're fooling yourself. You like her, don't you?

Hanzo- Wha-?! *blushes hard* What a preposterous thought!! I'm...! I...!

Genji- And you saw Cassidy flirting with her by the river! You like her! *excited* 

Hanzo- Enough! *gets up* What a absurd idea! She's a Overwatch colleague and I do not break any type of work ethic! 

Genji- Oh yeah? Tell that to Cassidy that ask her out on the phone! *smiled waiting his reaction*

Hanzo- ….! *sighs* This is not my problem.

Genji- Yeah, it is!

Hanzo- No it's not, Genji! I do not like her! 

Genji- So why did you pushed him into the river?! *laughing in joy*

Hanzo- I was only joking around!

Genji- This is NOT you! *breakdown in laugh and hold his arm* Brother! Be honest to yourself! There's no problem in like someone from Overwatch. 

Hanzo- I do not like her! She's a friend. * stepped away walking through the palace* 

Genji- A pretty and hot friend! *ran after* I'll ask Zenyatta to talk to you! *run away*

Hanzo- No! WAIT…! *Sighs and blush* I don't like her…that's stupid.

*A time later  they had to go on a reunion at Overwatch base; Hanzo were getting some cake and coffee in the base kitchen*

Hanzo- … *murmuring a song while putting coffee*

Zenyatta- A green bird told me about your hard time…*scares Hanzo to death making him spilled coffee* I apologize, did I approach too silently?

Hanzo- Zen..! Yes…! *laughed nervously cleaning the balcony* It's fine and well, you're a floating omnic and…wait, green bird told you what?! 

Zen- Your hard time dealing with new feelings, I suppose. 

Hanzo- Genji…!! *take a deep breath running his hand through his face* He's a little crazy with his theories, that's all.

Zen- Love is not a theory, is only real. 

Hanzo- Lo…?! This is not love, Zenyatta!

Zen- You tell me, Shimada. 

Hanzo- I'm telling you…! I'll kill Genji! 

Zen- …again?

Hanzo-.... Don't bring that back, please.

Zen- I'm sorry. 

Hanzo- I need to eat my cake, so…excuse me.

Zen- Genji said in a tone of excitement and happiness about your crush on miss y/n, and he asked me to talk to you to make you figure out your feelings for her, so if you don't mind, I'll join you in the name of love. *peace sign* 

Hanzo- …. *speechless* Do I have choice?

Zen- Beside you have your free will and self independence with your choices, I won't give you that at this moment. I'd like to sit and enjoy a conversation in respect of your true and new feelings that you may be confused to identify.

*Hanzo only sighs and walks away to a table, sat on the chair and Zen to the same, stretching his legs and take a deep breath* 

Zen- Let's take a deep breath to release all tension from your body…

Hanzo- *Roll his eyes and takes a deep breath* 

Zen- And now…Tell me about y/n.

Hanzo- …? What exactly?

Zen- Pretend that I don't know her and I ask you who she's. 

Hanzo- Ah…*clears throat* Right… She's a Overwatch agency, joined a couple of months ago. She's really good with sniper and makes an amazing sweet pancake.

Zen- I like the pancake detail *giggled* So… she 's nice? Is she…pretty? What does she mean to you, Hanzo?

Hanzo- *blushed hard and eats a huge piece of cake* 

Zen- *laughs* I think that answers a lot! 

Hanzo- *sighs closing his eyes still blushing* 

Zen- You're in trouble, aren't you? Well, I'm your friend and I know your past… it is awkward for you to feel like this, not really knowing what love means. What do you know about love, Hanzo?

Hanzo-... Is hard for me to talk about that… *speak with his mouth full of cake* 

Zen- I see, but when it comes to your brother, you can? 

Hanzo- … *looked at him feeling lost* Yes…? I love my brother.

Zen- And when it is about someone else, is it harder?

Hanzo- Yes… *sighs drinking the coffee* But I do not like her like that, even if I liked…I wouldn't deserve her.

Zen- And why's that?

Hanzo- I…! *take a deep breath* I'm not a good man, Zenyatta. 

Zen- And you think she sees you like that? 

Hanzo- Maybe…?

Zen- Does she knows your past? 

Hanzo- No! She…! She can't knows! Never!

Zen- Well, you really care about the image she has of you, that's a sign of mutual interest. 

Hanzo- mutual interest…*giggles* I just don't want someone to look at me the way I see myself.

Zen- Hanzo… *floats to his side and put the hand on his shoulder* I know you have trouble accepting who you are and may not think that you deserve love, but I want you to give yourself a chance to open up to yourself. This is your chance to change the way you see your own world. 

Hanzo- Nothing can change who I was, Zenyatta…

Zen- Not who you were, but who you are, right now. Love is a miracle in my view and I want you to recognize your mutual respect and love for y/n, it will be good for you, Hanzo.

Hanzo- …. If she doesn't like me the same way? 

Zen- Is better to know that answer now than keep asking yourself. Try it out. 

Hanzo- What should I do? *looked at Zenyatta* I never…asked someone on a date…actually, I never had a crush on someone before.

Zen- *giggles* There's a first time for everything and it may be hard now, but keep trying. I'll guide you if it's necessary. 

Hanzo- You know how to ask a woman on a date? *laughed

Zen- Well, I like to watch novels. *both giggled* But I want to give you courage. You may be a strong man, but when it comes to true love… It's hard and your world can turn upside down depending on how you feel.

Hanzo- *thinking and smiles* I like to be around her. She's nice and funny. She makes me feel safe. 

Zen- She's your shelter. 

Hanzo- I don't speak to her that much, but yes…is different. 

Zen- Let's grow this friendship, this way, it may be easier for you both. And now, it is time for me to meditate and watch some butterflies in the garden, excuse me.

Hanzo- No problem *watching him go and smiles to himself while holding the coffee* 

You- Good mood, mister Shimada? *enters the kitchen*

Hanzo- *immediately feels nervous and clears his throat* Well, it is a bright day outside, isn't it? Haha… 

You- Indeed. *smiles grabbing something to drink and sits in front of him* Hey…about yesterday…

Hanzo- I'm so sorry…! 

You- No, it 's ok! It was funny! *laughs* Cassidy was still a little pissed off, but…it was worth the laugh. Is just…*thinking* why? 

Hanzo- Why…?

You- You don't seem that playful, Hanzo, no offense. I was curious and I went to talk with Kiriko about that and…

Hanzo- Kiriko…? *immediately panicking inside* And what…she said? *drinking coffee*

You- Well…*blush and laugh* I know she's pretty honest and I'm not saying it is true…but…she said that you have a crush on me.

Hanzo- !!! *chokes on the coffee* 

You- Oh my God, are you ok?! 

Hanzo- Yeah…! *cofs* I'm fine…! Is fine! 

You- I'm so sorry… I didn't mean to scare you or something.

Hanzo- No problem, I…! I just need time to process…

You- Process? 

Hanzo- What is happening with me… *sighs and gets up* Excuse me, y/n. 

You- *looked at him worried and curious* 

*Minutes later Hanzo find Kiriko talking with Mercy and Ana on the reunion room* 

Hanzo- Ladies, excuse me…*enters the room* Kiriko… can I talk with you for a second?

Kiriko- I'm counting down…and it passed a second.

Hanzo- *sighs* A minute?!

Kiriko- *roll her eyes and gets up going outside the room going with Hanzo far away from there* What is it? 

Hanzo- You told her I like her?! *whispering in desperate* 

Kiriko- Yeah, of course, you're never gonna say that to her! *laughs* 

Hanzo- I need to go slowly, Kiriko! You know that! 

Kiriko- Slow? You're a man of 40 years old…

Hanzo- 38! And no! Age doesn't mean much…! 

Kiriko- You're mature enough to deal with love, aren't you? 

Hanzo- I'm a mature and responsible man, but not for that! This is a new thing for me, Kiriko…! 

Kiriko-...? What? 

Hanzo- What?

Kiriko- You never asked a girl out? 

Hanzo- How would I do that with all my duties, Kiriko…? 

Kiriko- Well, someday you would marry to continue the clan legacy, so…? You never liked someone before?

Hanzo- No…*deep breath* 

Kiriko- C'mon, so you at least kissed someone before, right?

Kiriko- *surprised* Dear God…really? *pause to think and smiles in excitement* You're a virgin of 40 years old?! 

Hanzo- Shut it…! *covers her mouth and blush hard*

Kiriko- *laugh out loud*

Kiriko- I'm finished…oh man, I'm crying…! This is so cute!

Overwatch Valentine's Day Headcannons

My headcannons about how OW characters would treat you on Valentine's Day. Does NOT include Bastion, Echo, Orisa, Sigma, Winston, or Wrecking Ball

Baptiste, Hanzo, Lucio, Reinhardt, Torbjorn, and Tracer follow the classic moves. They will ask you to be their Valentine; it doens't matter how long you've been together, and they always seem excited when you say yes. They cancel any and all plans on the 14th, handle all the plans and reservations, and give thoughtful gifts that show how much they know about you and care for you. Valentine's Day is always the WHOLE day for them. However, they are laser-focused on the day being perfect, and a small inconvenience can stress them the fuck out.

B.O.B, Doomfist, Moira, Ramattra, and Zenyatta don't understand the holiday at all. You guys shower love on each other all year long, so they don't need the calendar's permission to express themselves to you. But if Valentine's Day is important to you, they will match you excitement and energy, and do their best to meet your expectations. If your not a fan of the holiday, they won't notice it passing every year.

Brigitte, Lifeweaver, Mei, Symmetra, and Zarya are the ones who want to be courted and doted on. They love to be asked to be your Valentine, or surprised with a romantic night. You'll notice them getting a little more upset with you as the day gets closer and you don't seem to be making any plans. They just like being treated like the royalty they are.

Ashe, Cassidy, Pharah, Roadhog, and Sombra ask you about a week in advance "What do you want to do for VD this year?" And whatever you answer, they will go along with, even though they would rather treat it like any other day. This is not from a lack of romance or interest in you, but just a lack on interest on the holiday.

D.Va and Mercy are busy with the schedule of being a celebrity and a doctor, Genji has spent the past few years adopting an "every day is important" mentality, Kiriko and Sojourn are putting most of their focus on their vigilante work, and Junkrat always has a flittering mind, so they all have a 20% chance of remembering at all.

Ana, Illari, Junker Queen, Mauga, Reaper, Soldier: 76, and Widowmaker are the bitter, cold-hearted fucks that roll their eyes at the holiday. If there's love in the air, they're spraying Febreze and wearing a gas mask.

Zenyatta, upon entering Shambali and joining Ramattra and the other monks in the temple, was quiet and timid. Unlike the others, he hadn’t joined close to the monastery’s opening, but rather a few years after it had been established. It made him feel late, late to join the others in worshiping in the greatness that was the Iris. Of course, it was never too late to join a faith, especially one as abstract and fascinating as Shambali. He knows the trope is overdone, to be lost and hopeless in the world only for the great force of spirituality to save you and set you on a path of great self discovery, but that was the only way to describe Zenyatta’s life. It felt as though it didn’t even start until he joined the monastery. He felt good. He felt at peace, especially with Ramattra.

Ramattra was a bit of a black sheep compared to the other members of Shambali. He was huge, towering over the others in both height and mass. He was built like a tank, decorated in a large chest and muscular arms. Whatever he had done before, it was definitely something that required great amounts of strength, and based on the old scars that criss-crossed his skin, was anything but gentle to him. However, Ramattra now used his strength for the protection of his fellow brothers, often guarding the gates and guiding wild animals away from the building and breaking up disagreements between particularly rowdy members. He began talking to Zenyatta not when he had brought him to the monastery, but in between his shifts of guarding the doors, when he would walk the long, large halls on his way to the daily prayer circles. Their conversations usually stayed small, Ramattra giving Zenyatta his reports on the day’s animal visitors, telling Zenyatta stories of yaks and musk deers and vultures. In return, Zenyatta would give his knowledge on the animals, entertaining Ramattra with the facts of all the animals they came across. Light would enter Ramattra’s eyes with every conversation, his usual stern look melting into soft smiles and chuckles. Soon, their conversations had evolved into much deeper, more personal ones. They talked of the Shambali and their previous lives, of their hobbies and skills. Ramattra had shared a passion for poetry, which Zenyatta had the privilege of reading every morning as they ate their breakfast, preferring to eat in the privacy and secrecy of Ramattra’s room than with the rest of the monks. Sometimes Ramattra would allow Zenyatta to sleep beside him at night, the two holding each other in complete comfort as they dreamed side by side. By and by, their lives began to integrate and melt completely with each other, the two of them doing every task they wished together.

Ramattra had been the one to shave his head during his initiation, rough hands gently gliding a straight razor through scruffy, black hair and letting it fall to the floor like the leaves of autumn. He would be able to grow his hair back, seeing as Ramattra was complete with mid-length dreadlocks and a neatly shaped beard, but Zen was content with his new clean look and small soul patch he kept because he wanted to match with Ramattra.

Ramattra was the one to sit with Zenyatta in front of the audience that was the monastery, holding his hand as Mondatta carefully carved small, circular scars into his forehead. He can still vividly remember Ramattra’s large, warm hand pawing at his, the thumb lightly stroking the top of Zen’s as Zen grimaced and whimpered in pain. The air around them was filled with small, quiet praises, each one giving a dosage of calm to Zen’s nerves.

“You’re doing so well.”

“Almost done, you’re so brave.”

“You’ll look beautiful when they’re healed.”

Ramattra had been the one to dress Zenyatta in his robes. They were in Zenyatta’s new room, a small, quiet space where the two were in private. Zenyatta would stand still as Ramattra’s hands ran across his body, peeling away the old clothes Zenyatta had arrived in. Rough fingertips ran across scarred, freshly washed skin, over the small hills of breasts and the dip of hips as Ramattra measured out the size of Zenyatta's new clothes. Ramattra would gently grab at the small of Zenyatta’s back as he turned him around, fitting a neat sash around Zen’s waist and tying it around him like a pretty present. Zenyatta remembered lightly pawing at his new, baggy, gray pants as he felt Ramattra’s lips softly land on his head, kissing it. Ramattra’s beard was soft, making Zenyatta lean into it. Ramattra would pull away before letting his lips return to Zen’s skin, this time landing on the man’s bare shoulder.

“You are very affectionate,” Zenyatta giggled, his eyes glancing back and catching on to Ramattra’s. Ramattra’s skin flushed as he looked away, quickly pulling himself from Zenyatta and taking a step back.

“How could I not be with someone as charming as you?,” Ramattra cooed, his lips dragging across the warm, exposed skin of Zenyatta’s shoulder, kissing and nibbling at it. Zenyatta hummed in content.

“You make it sound like I’m the only charming man here,” Zenyatta chuckled, reaching over and putting a hand on Ramattra’s shoulder and rubbing it in exchange. Ramattra smiled and extended an arm forward, returning the gesture as he pulled his lips off of Zen’s shoulder. Their arms folded back to their respective sides, but the two stood, looking at each other, for quite some time. Scented candles filled the air with the sweetness of vanilla and honey, a scent so strong Zen could taste it in the back of his throat. Even in the coldness of winter mountains, where the skies were pale blue with frost and the ground was pearl with snow, the heat of the room was much closer to that of hellfire than the icy heaven that surrounded them.

Ramattra was first to make a move. He licked his lips, which had been dried out for quite some time now, and took a hearty step forward toward Zenyatta. His hand reached out again, this time placing itself underneath Zenyatta’s chin with such tenderness that he might as well have not touched him at all. Zenyatta’s smile widened, his eyes darting up to Ramattra’s. Ramattra leaned down, his lips landing softly on Zenyatta’s, which faintly parted to welcome him. The kiss was feather light, soft lips on soft lips as they pulled each other close. Zenyatta hated to admit how eagerly he licked up the sweet, subtle taste of Ramattra’s lips. They tasted like mint chapstick and sage tea and warmth and love and comfort. Zenyatta’s lips parted to say something, but Ramattra took it as something different, pulling Zenyatta even closer and indulging himself even more in the luxury that was Zenyatta’s mouth. Zenyatta didn’t protest. His mouth tasted like the apricots he ate for breakfast, a tantalizing taste that only drew Ramattra closer.

In a couple of blurry moments, Zenyatta was slowly backed into the wall. Hungry hands traced over his skin, massaging his shoulders and lightly grabbing at his breasts, tugging at his nipple, sending shocks of pleasure through Zenyatta’s body. Zenyatta moaned into his lips, his hands beginning to palm at the new, hard surface in Ramattra’s pants. Zenyatta gasped as he pressed against the wall with a newfound firmness.

“I love you. I love you more than any man here. You’re my person, the only one meant for me” Ramattra confessed between small, hurried kisses.

Okay so. Overwatch official social media accounts are posting content that is implying things???????? God I hate this shit Zenyatta is a comfort character of mine and it's really depressing seeing all this infighting and creepy content surrounding his lore bc devs can't be damned to properly explain themselves!!!! Like jfc, they have NO REASON to hide Zen and Ram's true dynamic! SO far in canonical lore (not twitter shitposts) it's been coded as monastic brotherhood at minimum, or monastic brotherhood + found family siblings with basic interpretation, So what's the deal???? From what I am seeing there are three options for what their dynamic actually is and what OW PR is doing:

FYI: in my opinion, thus far for what OW lore has given in canon, Ram and Zen are likely found family siblings and monastic brothers. That is how I interpret them in all my aus too, personally. Option A) They are found family siblings. Official OW accounts are shipping two found family siblings which YIKES (This would be like shipping Genji and Kiriko, who are not bio related but are found family members.) it's a bad time all around, i guess starwatch really is taking that starwars inspo to the extremes, RIP. PS: YES I am aware monastic dynamics means the Shambali call everyone brother/sister/etc, that is NOT what I am referring to. The words that the devs used when introducing Ramattra in the live reveal implied sib dynamics + monastic brother dynamics between Zen and Ram. OR Option B) They were involved/partners. Omnic monks = aro/ace or ace coded (Robots are not organic, therefore would not have the same desires humans might experience). OW botched the reveal and is blatently aphobic by equating aro/ace partnerships to siblings with the "as close as brothers" line to describe how close they got. I hate that aphobic stereotype with a passion. A found family sibling is not just a 'friend' and FFS ^^^THOSE TWO DYNAMICS are NOT the same as aro/ace partnerships!!! At all!!!!!! It's incredibly insulting to say those partnerships are "inherently just friends lol" or "basically just sis and bro" or whatever the hell. IF these characters were meant to be an item, OW fucked up tremendously in how they revealed it. Let's announce aphobia on pride month??? OR Option C) They were never involved/partners. OW PR is baiting content (on pride month no less) to reel in shippers for social media interactions and advertisements for OW bc $$$ and "uwu technically!!! robots aren't related sweaty!!" strawmans as if found family tropes don't exist, and blah blah blah, bs allo-centricisms of: "our canon found family MUST equal romance! There is no such thing as found family: siblings or niece or uncle or grandparent, etc" nonsense. Ultimately, this baited ship is ooc and not canon, making it a hellscape for the fandom to interact with Ramattra or Zenyatta content bc of the infighting, all bc OW devs/PR can't be clear on what is and what is not canon dynamics for Ram and Zen. Man I hate it here. Zenyatta canon lore better not be soiled because of OW PR/dev/writer bs, Zenyatta deserves good lore. So does Ramattra! This stupid limbo of "are they or aren't they" shouldn't exist in the first place!!!!! OW should have been crystal clear about them, especially with Ram, considering Ram is key to OW2 lore as the Leader of NullSector.

Nezu - Principal/Dean/Headmaster whatever collages have, very lax about pretty much everything, basically has to be with the teacher's he has. Spends a lot of time wandering the campus grounds. Smokes when he thinks no one is looking, hates to be touched.

Toshinori Yagi - New English Professor, last teaching position was as an assistant teacher in a kindergarden class in his 20's, very out of practice with the youth. Randomly mixes talking to a toddler language into his lectures on accident. The most likely to slip into speaking Japanese while giving a lesson on accident.

Koro-Sensei - Head Librarian, changes the recommended books every day, always excited to introduce someone to his favorite series. Secretly sneaks students expensive textbooks for free, and offers free tutoring every day of the week after classes. Would keep the library open 24/7 if he could

Spamton G. Spamton - Engineering Professor, lectures go long and rambly and get off topic easy, comes to school in a different car almost every day. Still dresses like a Greaser in the year 2022, but wears a jumpsuit when in the garage, which is most days. Does not use a blowtorch safely.

Gaster - Physics and Astronomy professor, goes back and forth between being refined and clear, and over the top ecstatic about his topics. He and Spamton have something going on, people think they've divorced. Gaster likes to fuel that rumor.

Shirokuma - Psycology Professor, was a Child psychologist before this. Very soft spoken and gentle, kind of talks like he's speaking to children in a very pandering kind of way. Will give you till the very last day of the term to get any project done. People think he and Nezu are related somehow. They're not, and Nezu really doesn't like the guy so he avoids talking about him.

Monokuma - Political Science Professor, the worst. The Worst. Very strict about deadlines on assignments, will email you back a "k." if you ask for an extension on a project because you're ill, you will not get the extension either. Raymond Shields - Law Professor, totally didn't flail his way through law school and most certainly always knows what he's talking about. Almost always the last one to his own classes. Hates the Government, Be Gay Do Crime is always on his chalk board.

Zenyatta - Humanities Professor, loves talking and debating religions. No one's ever heard him raise his voice but almost everyone on campus has seen the video of him taking down a cop twice his size in one move. Enjoys the company of most other professors, and spends free time grading papers in the Roost on campus along side Shirokuma.

Maximilien - Collage funder, shows up on campus every once in a while to sit in on classes and make sure his money is going to good use. Nezu hates him, but puts up a fantastic facade. Very picky about Scholarship applications.

Brooster - Runs a coffee shop on campus. Has almost every regular's order memorized. Gives free coffee during finals week. Has the best WiFi on campus.

Makarov Dreyar - Recently retired English Professor, still the school's Football Coach. Good friends with Nezu, like to pop in on Toshinori and see how he's doing. Was the Campus Crypid and likes to tell stories of his days as a Frat kid here on this very quad.

Leshy - Photography Professor, also pops up in occasional Figure drawing sessions as the model, under Magnificus' request. The New Campus Crypid, mostly because he walks like big foot and hangs in the woods around the art buildings. He hosts DnD games on the weekends

Magnificus - Art Professor, one of those snobby art teacher's who'll get mad at you for drawing anime and is devoted to REAL art, even though Leshy commissions him to draw the student's DnD characters. Speaks low and infrequently, beats the shit out of canvases with his brush in the woods behind the art buildings in the middle of the night so loudly it can be heard from the dorms across the street.

Viktor Humphries - Environmental Sciences Professor, has been working here longer than Toshinori but still as new to teaching as him. Very awkward, not good at conversation and tends to talk too fast during his lectures. Has bumbled multiple specimens into his shirt while doing field lessons.

Edalyn Clawthorne - Chemistry Professor, does NOT practice lab safety, believes in the fuck around and find out method of teaching which is not a good method of teaching to have working with highly toxic chemicals. Despite costing the school thousands in damage and being the bane of Maximilien's existence, she has yet to allow a student to get majorly injured. She keeps her job because Nezu thinks she's a great influence. She is not.

Raine Whispers - Music Professor, gives as few lectures as possible. Hates hates teaching Music history and music theory as it involves so much more talking than their comfortable with. Nothing brings them more joy than the Campus' marching band and Orchestra, loves those kids.

Andras - Sociology and Philosophy Professor, a fucking menace to the ideal of morals and ethics. Debates Zenyatta just to try and get on his nerves. Hates the library, and is constantly trying to kill Koro-Sensei, who thinks it funny and reminds him of "old times", thus not minding it. He and Maximilien get drinks every other week.

Leuvis - History professor, too tall to fit into most door ways without bending a little bit, brings Parvas to all his classes. Gets really into talking about ancient wars, goes on and on about how victors write the story. Would love to lose a knife fight one day.

All Hands - Business and Economics Professor, loves the stalk market and will not shut up about bitcoin. Paces and talks with his hands a lot, believes in conspiracy theories and will get off topic if brought to them. Also gets drinks with Andras and Maximilien every other week. Students call them the demon trio.

Student Body

Kazuaki Nanaki - Part Arts Major and part English Major, always late to class because he over sleeps and did not plan his schedule right. Struggling hard with collage burn out, depression, and self worth, but could ramble for a mile about his boyfriend.

Hitori Uzune - Child Education Major, planning to be a math teacher. Kazuaki's aforementioned boyfriend, doesn't share an apartment with Kazuaki because he refuses to be his babysitter and force him to eat and sleep on time. Lives off campus with his family.

Toko Fukawa - Creative Writing major with psychology classes on the side, here on scholarship. Lives in an on campus apartment with Celeste, Iggy, and Mae, never talks to them. Tends to be alone a lot, on purpose mostly. Scared of the Campus Crypid. Struggles to keep Jill at bay sometimes. Missed a whole day of class before because she saw N on her way to class and had to retreat back to her dorms to keep Jill from fronting.

Hifumi Yamada - Arts and Creative Writing Major, gets in very loud, obnoxious debates with Magnificus on whether or not Anime is an art that can take up the entirety of class some days. Part of Leshy's DnD group, though a little obnoxious about it as he perfectly mint maxed his character and was OP by the third session. He mostly uses it to cast charm on NPCs.

Celestia Ludenburg - Economics and Political Science major, has been mistaken for a first year fashion major, as even during finals weeks her look is always on point. Has been invited to the Demon Trio's drinking nights several times, only goes once or twice. The only person on campus to beat Eda at cards. Joined DnD because of Hifumi and also made an OP character very quickly and uses it for evil.

Teruteru Hanamura - Culinary Major, lives in the dorms on campus and is the godsend of the building. Loves cooking for large groups, so long as everyone brings an ingredient, or beer. Beer is always welcome. Bonus of it being an easy way to get a lot of hot guys in your room quickly.

Sagashi (Imposter) - Theater, Arts, and Fashion major. Loves costume design and special effects make up, they're hard to spot in a crowd because they are constantly switching costumes and make up, duplicating any look flawlessly. Shares and dorm with Teruteru, but also occasionally crashes with Celeste or Atsuhiro.

Ryoma Hoshi - On a Sports scholarship for Tennis, taking anthropology for the fun of it. Lives in the boys dorms on campus and usually stays in his room. Has a long distance girlfriend he rarely talks about, and a secret cat he's not suppose to have as it's against dorm policy he is constantly talking about.

Gonta Gokuhara - Entomology Major on scholarship, but in every Environmental Science class he could get into, also on the football team. Ryoma's roommate, also very loudly talks about their cat they're not suppose to have. Gets along great with Dr. Humphries, especially with non-verbal conversations.

Milo - Agriculture Major, also on the football team on scholarship. Really really dumb about everything other than plants and animals. He and Gonta get along like a house on fire, Makarov calls them his puppy dog players and loves them to bits. Has an apartment on campus with his boyfriend that is full of potted plants. He and Teruteru came from the same country home town.

Gordie - Geology and Philosophy major, use to live in the dorms but moved in with Milo after they started dating. Has a cat named Shuckle who he spends 90% of his time with. Plays bass in a band, thinks that's both super cool and extremely embarrassing so usually doesn't tell many people.

James - Theater and Fashion major, lives off campus with his bestie Jessie, bikes to classes with a full costume wardrobe sometimes. He and Sagashi cram together and bounce a lot of ideas off one another in the library after classes with Atsuhiro.

Guzma - Entomology Major, lives really far off campus in an apartment he shares with a huge group, works at the Roost and two other jobs to pay for classes and rent. Almost always falls asleep in class or in the library while studying. Gonta has tried to offer his notes and helps, but usually just gets glares or hissed at and leaves. Hangs out in the forest behind the Arts buildings sometimes to catch bugs, likes Professor Leshy.

N - Engineering and Calculus major on scholarship, also in oceanography classes. Campus Crypid the Second but everyone on campus who sees him thinks he's hot as well. Will info dump your ear off about math if you start a conversation with him. Has had long debates with Leshy about wildlife before. Hisses at the Demon Trio.

Papyrus - Engineering Major, Campus Crypid the Third. Still lives at home with his dad and brother, who are both Professors at the school, so he gets a free ride out of it. Good friends with N in that good Autistic way. One of the few students to match Spamton's energy during lectures.

Dick Gumshoe - Law Major, very close to flunking out, very recently lost both his part-time jobs, struggling to pay his bills, he is surviving on ramen and Koro-Sensei's tutoring. If he's not in class he's in the library cramming every book he can get his hands on. Ray would help but he honestly barely got through this nonsense the first time.

Ginko - Nursing and Chemistry Major on scholarship, wants to get into pharmaceuticals mostly to sell herbal medication rather than hard drugs and pills. Probably sells weed. Loves watching undergrads fall for Eda's "Try it." teaching strategy. Also does not practice proper lab safety. Couch surfs between his polycule's apartments.

Scorpia - Political Major with a lot of Art classes thrown in between. Doesn't actually know what she wants to do with her life, her parents kind of set this whole collage thing up for her and she chose to spend her free classes in art but doesn't really know if that's what she wants to do either. Feeds the campus pigeons while people watching pretty girls between classes.

Bismuth - Engineering Major, doesn't like Spamton but likes the class and the topic, so she can get through it. Likes talking with Zenyatta when seeing him in the Roost in the morning. Quarterback of the football team, leads them all in a jog around campus every morning. Talks about a girlfriend she left back home a lot.

Bob - Communications Major, mute and working on getting a job as a sign language translator. Was requested to join the football team but turned them down, preferring to use his free time to volunteer at a HoHing children's monstessori in town.

Lynx17 - Software engineering major, just wants to make games, talks a lot of game theory and arts with Magnificus, Leshy, Gaster, and Sans. Has no idea what their game is going to be about but sure has all the engine to make it up and running. Lives very close to campus in an apartment with Hana, Lucio, and Jamie. Lena and Emily live across the hall from them. Part of Leshy's DnD group.

Iggy - Music major, blasts music entirely too late for most her neighbors and roommates to stand, usually whatever song she's obsessed with on repeat. Always has headphones playing something or other in her ears. Lead vocals and guitar in a band with Gordie, constantly putting fliers for their shows up around campus.

Taishiro Toyomitsu - Martial Arts Major on a Football scholarship, gave up Quarterback to Bismuth last year to focus on his studies more. Still on the team for scholarship, but Makarov lets him skip more games under the guise of keeping him on the bench. Works at a Karate class for kids in town, lives in the dorms on campus and is always dropping into Teruteru's dorm for free good food.

Kendo Rappa - Martial Arts Major, on the football team, stalking Taishiro very blatantly. Only joined football because Taishiro took him down during sparring in class, and he fell in love the second he hit the mat. He's been trying for months to switch rooms with Taishiro's dormmate without success. Makarov has tried to talk to him about this behavior, but nothing will make him quit.

Atsuhiro Sako - Theater Major, lives with his found family way off campus and drives them all to school every day. Wears a waist coat and dress clothes every day, almost always the lead when the school puts on a play. The guy to go to for gossip. Does close up magic for birthday parties to pay for gas.

Jin Bubaigawara - Engineering major, struggling to keep it together through school. Recently lost his job, luckily he lives with a group and they’ll give him time to pay his share of the rent, but he’s still super stressed about it. Still thinks Plurality is a sign of a dangerous person and thus really scared of himself and tries not to talk about it.

Sun (and Moon, they're headmates) - Child Education Major with a side of psychology. Loves talking to Shirokuma after class for extra child psychology research. Also spends a lot of time in the library reading about child development, works part-time at a daycare and cannot wait to work full time as well. Moon is Campus Crypid number four.

Mae Browski - Not really majoring in anything, doesn't really want to be here, spends a lot of time locked up in her room having collage burn out and trying not to break down fully. Doesn't know what day of the week it is. Keeps forgetting when her classes are. Almost never misses DnD though.

Alfur - Law, Business, and Sociology Major on Scholarship. Correct Ray whenever he passes over something or gets something wrong, not maliciously he just genuinely loves the law and the fine print and technicalities and all that. Loans Gumshoe his notes every other class and offers to tutor him as well, but ends up getting turned down. Usually in the library reading through copies of old court cases.

Snork - Engineering major, thinks Spamton and Papyrus are both entirely too much and mostly misses classes because he cannot focus with them being so loud and colorful. N takes good notes so he'll ask to barrow them after class. Lives on campus in a scholarship payed for apartment alone. Video calls his sister a lot.

Takashi Morinozuka - Law Major, blends into a crowd and is easily overlooked in class. Tried once to offer Gumshoe his notes, but due to his silence, he didn't get the hint and ended up just trying to get past. Lives off campus in an apartment with Mitskuni, the rest of the Host Club are also around in the building. He and Haruhi study law together.

Harunobu Nikaidou - History major, misses a lot of classes due to illness or shogi tournaments, doesn't particularly care about school, just likes studying history in his spare time and wanted to follow Rei to collage to be near him. Lives in a rental house off campus.

Billions and Billions - Astronomy majors, double down on Gaster's wild energy while excited and tend to amp it up if it happens while they're in class. Uses the school's telescope all the time without permission, usually with the help of Koro-Sensei who loves their enthusiasm for the stars. They share a dorm room on campus and never miss a Teruteru pot-luck. They also play DnD.

Lynn - Language and Children's Education Major, plans on teaching High school to collage level Chinese classes. Very quiet and kind of stand-off-ish. Gets hard glares from the Demon Trio and gives them right back much harder. Part of the school orchestra with his sister Lily, who he also shares an on campus apartment with.
