Can I get some headcannons or a scenario with any hermits you want where the Reader owns a little Diner, kinda like your basic 80's-90's aesthetic?
Have a good one :]]

Grian:
It was super early in the morning, having basically just opened up the store moments earlier when Grian came in. Usually, you knew him to be more of a late riser, but it was nice to see him. Especially since seeing a very tired and cute Grian was not something you got to see very often, despite him basically coming to your diner every day for breakfast. Walking over to him, a bright smile on your face, he gave you a small smile despite clearly being too tired for it. Still, you appreciated the efforts.
“Late night, Grian? The usual?” You asked, and he nodded, planting his head on his hand as he watched you working behind the counter. Honestly, you couldn’t say it wasn’t flattering how you could feel his eyes following along as you moved about the kitchen working on his breakfast. It struck you that he had probably been up all night, cause if it had really been a late night for him he would just still be asleep. Finishing up making his plate, you placed it on the counter in front of him. Having no one else in the diner at the time, most of the hermits (except Bdubs) were probably still asleep, you stood opposite him.
“Why are you still awake, Grian?” You asked, curious as to what he might have been doing all night that had kept him up. It was something that had never happened before, to be honest. Grian really liked his sleep. He swallowed a piece of his pancake before speaking. “I had to do some work, and I didn’t want to wake up too late because then I couldn’t come see you.” He explained, munching away again. You laughed, and flicked his forehead softly.
It did make you blush, though. “You don’t have to come here to see me, Grian. You’re always welcome with me.”
“Yeah, but I like your uniform.” He said, letting a comfortable silence befall you.

XisumaVoid:
It’s late, middle of the night when he comes around. You’ve already closed up the diner, but you’re trying to get everything done for the day tomorrow. You’d wiped down the tables and counters, and cleaned most of the kitchen at this point. When he softly put his fingers to the glass outside, knocking very lightly so as to not give you a scare, you had been sweeping the floors. You hurriedly put down the broom against the counter, wiping your hands down on your apron before unlocking the door to your diner. Xisuma stepped through, hiding one hand behind his back and when you noticed you raised an eyebrow at him, nodding towards his arms. There was a goofy smile painted on his face. “What’s all this, then?” you asked.
“Nothing, I just thought I’d check in on my favourite person.” He says, feigning ignorance and innocence. You squinted up at him, letting him know you see through him. You lunge for his arm, wanting to peel it from behind his back to look at what he is trying to hide from you, but he quickly steps back to avoid your arm. “Hey! Show me what you’ve got.” You demand from him, starting to walk towards him again. He pivots, still keeping whatever he has hidden behind him, away from your line of sight as he sprints to the other side of the counter.
Caught off guard at his moment, you make an effort to follow behind him. But he’s placed whatever he was holding behind the counter, and making his way to meet you he stops you from making your way behind the counter by grabbing you by the waist and pushing you back. You whine. “Sumaaa, I want to know what you have.” He laughs as you push against him, still shoving you back lightly. A thought pops into your head, and you stop trying to get away from him, instead leaning against him and looking up at him with big open eyes. “Is it something for me?” You ask. His mouth turns up in a very soft smile.
“Why would I get you something?” He then asks, putting a piece of hair behind your ear. You make a sad face up at him and he just laughs at you, and then hearing him laugh you can’t help but also burst into laughter. Having him caught off guard too you push him to the side, releasing his grip on you and making a dash for the other side of the counter. Laying there is a small bouquet of wildflowers. You grab them, pulling them to your chest. “Oh, Suma! These are for me right?” You ask excitedly, and he lets out a sigh at his jig being up.
“Of course they’re for you.” He says, and you smell them, smiling to yourself, ready to close up shop and go home with Xisuma.

ZombieCleo:
It had been a very busy day at the diner, the day only now starting to wind down. Basically every hermit under the sun had visited the diner today, Doc even having visited twice just because he couldn’t be arsed to make or get any food of his own. You didn’t mind, in the end, it just meant more diamonds to spend for you. But it was odd, having so many people pop around all day. Not once had the diner been empty. And now, as the day was settling in, and the sun was setting, you felt the exhaustion take over. If one more hermit came through those doors you would lose your mind.
Just as the thought crossed your mind, the little bell attached to the door rang, signaling that someone had entered the small diner. You were still open, so you couldn’t just turn around and scream at whoever just entered, but the thought did cross your mind. So when you turned around and saw Cleo a giant sigh of relief escaped your lips. She noticed, and let a giggle slip as well. “Rough day, then?” She asked, and you nodded, letting your shoulders slouch. You started explaining how every hermit under the sun had paid you a visit. She seemed to get more and more nervous during your walkthrough of how your day went, and you knew something was up. So you just asked what was on her mind.
“Well, it’s my fault they all came through. I let it slip that I was going to come ask you something today and I guess they all wanted to be there. I don’t know where they got the idea I’d do it with them all there, but they’re nosy.” She explained, scratching the back of her head and looking away as to not let your eyes meet. She was clearly nervous about whatever she wanted to talk to you about. “Well, I don’t mind. You can ask me now.” You said, fiddling with the end of your frilly apron. You and Cleo had always danced around each other, and even if you did want her to ask you out.
“Great! Uh, so..  I was thinking I could maybe, if you wanted, pick you up and go somewhere tomorrow when you close up shop.” She managed to squeak out, and you giggled, jumping to envelope her in a big hug.
“I’d love to, Cleo!”

Soul Seer-ed Kiss
Grian x Reader | DoubleLife
With a side order of one-sided Scar x Grian and Scar x Reader
Warning: There are spoilers ahead, so be warned.
This was a prompt given by an acquaintance on @shepard-ram's Discord server. (It's an amazing server btw. So many amazing people)
You were a familiar face on the Hermitcraft server despite not joining any of the spinoff series that several of the hermits get themselves into. The hermits encouraged you to look at joining one of the many series. And so with their encouragement, you signed up for the new series, DoubleLife.
However with you in drawing pool, you now had no one to be your soulmate. When this was found out, you were given a special role instead. You were to be the Soul Seer. Instead of having a soulmate, you were able to see the ties between the Soulbound and were able to either cut or refasten the strings if needed.
Upon dropping into the new world, everyone began spreading out to find resources and their Soulbound. At this point, you were approached by Grian. Unknown to you, the winged hermit had been holding a rather significant crush on you for quite some time, and was praying that of all people, you’d be his soulmate.
He was devastated when he learned that you weren’t his Soulbound and even more so when he found out who was. Scar, why’d it have to be Scar? He didn’t love Scar, sure the man was a great friend, but Grian didn’t love him. Not like he loved you. You left soon after the two found each other, and quickly started planning yourself a base.
You had a fun time building your base. The other Hermits would stop by sometimes and share information and sometimes supplies with you. They seemed to take pity on your lack of a soulmate. You had yet to tell anyone of your given abilities and role. Even with the fiasco going on with Pearl and Cleo and their Soulbound. You got to hear loads of that gossip whenever the two came in to vent to you.
This was how you caught wind of the Sugarcane situation. According to the girls, Joel, and Etho; Grian had taken every piece of sugarcane on the entire server. You laughed at their exaspirated faces, and asked what they expected you to be able to do about it.  And this was how you learned about his extreme crush on you.
The plan was for you to distract the lovestruck bird, while they tore through the man’s base. Then when he went to deal with them, Pearl would sneak back around and take you back to your house. It’d be like you were never part of the scheme at all. You thought about it for a bit, and agreed. While you didn’t like the idea of messing with the relationships of the Soulbound, Grian and Scar did NOT need all the sugarcane.
Grian had just about had enough. From the lighting the Ranch on fire, to painting a target on their backs because of the sugarcane, Grian was tired of Scar. The man was chaotic as hell, and for once, the winged hermit wanted none of it. He kept thinking of how peaceful it would’ve been with you as his soulmate. Soon enough he was looking for ways to sever his ties to Scar and attach them to you. That was how he learned about a rumor of you acting as if you could see the strings of fate. There was also talk of people seeing you trace your fingers through the air, and feeling a tugging deep in their chest.
The day that he planned to search the server for you and question you, was the day that you showed up at their base.
Grian whirled around the moment your voice reached his ears. Here you were, the l̶o̶v̶e̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶l̶i̶f̶e̶  person he was looking for. Oh how he missed you. He’d been so busy trying to keep himself and Scar alive that he hadn’t had the time to come visit your base.
You approached Grian, calling out his name as you drew nearer. You could feel the nervous energy growing in you as you remembered why you were here. Now that it had been pointed out to you, it was obvious that Grian was head over heels. There was no way to ignore the smile he gave you and the relief in his eyes as you asked to speak with him.
Several minutes of idle chat passed by, mostly about base progression and other mundane things. Seeing the group of Sugarcane invaders pass in the background, you decided that now was as good a moment as any. Taking a step forward, you place a hand on Grian’s upper arm. Peering up at him, you ask if you could do something that you had been wanting to try for a while.
Wordlessly, he nodded and you took that as your cue. You wrapped your arm around his neck and gently pressed your lips against his. You felt the man stiffen before his arms shot around your body and pulled you closer to him. One arm settled around your waist with the other running up your back to rest his hand against your head. You tangled your fingers in his hair and his beautiful, colorful wings wrapped around the two of you.
And as suddenly as the moment came, it left. The sound of crashes and yelling came from in and under Grian’s base, and the man pulled away from you. He blinked a few times, and tore off around the base, yelling about the sugarcane the entire way. Pearl was quick to pick you up and take you back to your house by horse. The plan was a complete success, with the sugarcane divided among those involved.
Scar was a lot smarter than people gave him credit for. And as such, he knew that Grian didn't want to be his Soulbound. He knew that Grian didn’t love him the same way. He knew that Grian would much rather have you, and honestly, who could blame him. You were a kind, caring soul and Scar had always enjoyed spending time with you on the Hermitcraft server. With all your kind deeds to him, he could honestly say that between you, Grian, and of course Jellie, his heart was split into three.
So why did it feel like he was breaking when he saw you kissing Grian. When he saw Grian pull you closer, and wrap you in his arms. His heart filled with burning jealousy, but he couldn’t figure out who it was directed towards. Did he want to be the one Grian was holding? Or did he want to be holding you close to him, with his lips on yours.
He rememered how Last Life had gone, how he was left alone and he refused to let it happen again. He also had heard the rumors about you and had seen the odd behavior firsthand. Surely if you were capable of severing bonds, then maybe you could make them? Either way, Scar was determined, you were going to be joining their Soulbond. Scar would get to be with both of the people he loved. Grian would finally be happy and you would be safe. Scar couldn’t ask for anything better.

If you happen to have any soft Cleo x Reader ideas, I'd love to hear one. <3
Usually, you’re the more physically affectionate one, annoying everyone around you with your PDA with Cleo. But every time she kisses you in public, you swear your face turns into a space heater with how bad you’re blushing.

DON’T KISS AND TELL (PLEASE DO)
۫  ּ   ִֶָ  ࣪✦ PAIRING \ C!GoodTimesWithScar x GN!Reader
۫  ּ   ִֶָ  ࣪✦ SYNOPSIS \ To say that you had a crush on Scar was an understatement- it seemed like you had been pining for the man forever. However, despite your desire for more, you are firm on not doing anything to ruin your current relationship- even if that meant going to extreme lengths not to get caught standing under any mistletoe. (Un)fortunately for you, it seems some other people might have a different idea…
۫  ּ   ִֶָ  ࣪✦ WARNINGS \ Mild language, self doubt
۫  ּ   ִֶָ  ࣪✦ A/N \ Here we go! Rock N’ Roll buckaroos!! First part of the Big Holiday Thing!!! To be honest, I’m just glad to get this all posted. I started writing this series sometime in early November (smack dab in the middle of prepping for finals), and it’s been a pretty wild ride trying to keep my grades up as well as making sure I’ve been completing these on time. I hope you all enjoy!
Tumblr media
Living on the Hermitcraft server was an… interesting experience.
More often than not, you were stepping out of your base to find your friends in the crux of some crazy scheme, stalking other players while disguised as trees, running about willy-nilly on the hunt for a dragon egg, or spawning in thousands of boats to make the lag caused by the Redstone farms look like child’s play.
You had gotten used to the chaos, even grown to appreciate it during both of the wars that Grian had started, but it was still a shock for you to wake up to find the entire server blanketed in a thick sheet of sparkling snow.
Your breath clouded in the chilled air as you walked along one of the Boatem pathways, your hands tucked tightly into the pockets of the thick winter jacket you had scrounged up from the deepest parts of your storage system. Frost crunched under your boots with every step, the shimmering green-blue of the mending enchantment shining through even the ice that had built up over the few minutes you had been out and about.
It was like the entire server had been overtaken by a tundra biome, the snow swallowing up the sounds of the world and leaving only the sound of wind. It seemed like there was nothing around for hundreds of blocks, as you stared out across the server. For a moment, you felt like you were the only person in the world.
That illusion was shattered as soon as you glanced to the side to see Cleo’s grinning face.
You yelped, jumping almost two blocks into the air as the redhead cackled, patchwork face twisting into a brilliant grin full of mirth and light.
“C-Cleo!” you gasped, resting your hand on the pommel of your netherite sword. “You can’t just scare me like that!”
“But it was funny!” she protested as soon as she got her laughter under control, still grinning like the absolute madwoman she was.
You puffed your cheeks out in a pout, crossing your arms over your chest with a dramatic huff. “Meanie.”
You paused.
“By the way, where is everyone? You’re the only other player I’ve seen since I woke up this morning.”
Cleo’s eyes lit up, and the undead woman excitedly slung an arm over your shoulder. “You didn’t see the message on your comm? Well, no, obviously, but Xisuma sent one out earlier. So, you know how we normally have a Christmas district? Well, since we don’t have any districts this year, we’re all getting together to make the entire server holiday-themed.”
You brightened, a shy smile tugging at the corners of your lips. “Oh? That sounds cool!”
Cleo laughed once more, green eyes glinting merrily in the sunlight. “I know, right? The meeting’s starting in about an hour, so we should probably get going.”
You ducked out of her grip, giggling at her faux-wounded expression, and summoned your rockets from your inventory, shifting your coat to allow your elytra to extend fully. You had always found them pretty, the iridescent membrane sparkling all colors of the rainbow as soon as the light hit them.
Shooting a short wave to Cleo, you launched off the ground with a whizz of a rocket, carving an arc as you flew through the cloudless blue sky. Behind you, you could faintly hear the sound of the other player following your path over the sound of wind rushing through your ears, and you huffed to yourself as she playfully darted underneath you.
Dipping and weaving like dragonflies, it wasn’t long before the pair of you caught sight of the spawn point where everyone was supposed to gather. Already, you could make out the figures of the other server members swarming the area, the height at which you were flying making them appear as though they were as big as ants.
You smirked. Better give them a show.
Folding your elytra completely, you allowed yourself to dip into a free-fall, air shrieking past your ears and dragging at your clothes. You laughed, the sound being thrown back at you as you tumbled through the air, the giddy feeling that always came with flight bubbling up into your chest.
The ground rose to meet you, and before you could splatter all over the ground, you banked out of your dive, landing with a solid ‘thud’ right behind Mumbo Jumbo, successfully scaring the ever-living daylights out of the tall Brit.
“What’s up, potato boy?”
“Oh my goodness!” he cried, pressing a hand to his chest in a manner that reminded you of a genteel Victorian woman. Cleo landed behind you, grinning wryly as she moved to pat the man on the shoulder.
“Sorry about that Mumbo,” she said, completely not sorry. “Managed to spook them earlier, and you know what they say! ‘What goes around, comes around’.”
Mumbo blinked, fearful features morphing into bewilderment. “What? I don’t- I don’t think that’s how that works-”
The spud was cut off by the sudden appearance of another Hermit, their crunching footsteps approaching from behind you.
“What’s going on over here?”
Immediately, you felt heat rush to your cheeks, and you scowled at the equally teasing looks both Cleo and Mumbo shot at you. Steeling yourself, you turned yourself around to see Scar approaching, a confused but happy grin affixed to his face.
The usual maroon suit he wore had been discarded, replaced by a thick overcoat that swirled around his feet as he walked, collecting a thin layer of snow. A plush olive green scarf was clumsily tied around his neck, and your fingers twitched as you repressed the urge to fix it for him. When his eyes landed and locked on yours, you felt like you had been punched in the gut, all of the air whooshing from you in one heavy breath.
You recognized this feeling.
The way your heart seemed to stutter and come to a screeching halt in your rib cage, the way you felt as though you had contracted altitude sickness, light-headed and struggling to breathe, and how your hands seemed so much sweatier than usual. (It was kind of gross, to be honest)
You had a crush on GoodTimesWithScar.
“O-oh, hey! I wasn’t sure if you were coming or not!”
Scar’s words broke you out of your daze, and, as you shook your head subtly to clear your thoughts, you smiled at him, trying not to let any of your embarrassment show.
Judging by Cleo’s stifled giggle, you didn’t think you were a hundred percent successful.
“I didn’t see Xisuma’s message, but, ah- Cleo here rounded me up quickly enough to get over here on- on time,” you explained, fiddling with the zipper of your coat nervously. Gods above, it was so annoying how much Scar’s mere presence affected you, sending butterflies fluttering through your stomach and tying your tongue into knots.
Scar grinned, that same damn grin that lit up his entire face and made it something beautiful, ethereal, almost.
“That’s amazin’! Thanks, Cleo! I don’t know what I’d do if my best friend weren’t here!”
Ah. There it was.
You had a crush on GoodTimesWithScar, but it could never be anything more than a crush because the man was your best friend. Your partner-in-crime. Someone who you could trust with all of your deepest, darkest secrets.
But not this one. Never this one.
You chuckled, trying not to let the pain you felt show. “Right.”
Any further attempt at a conversation was quickly doused by Xisuma’s sudden appearance, the Hermitcraft admin teleporting in front of everyone in an explosion of rioting green and purple code.
“Alright everyone,” he started, bringing his two gloved hands together with a clap. “Let’s get started with this thing, yeah?”
As you listened to the British man’s spiel, it turned out that everyone had gathered together in order to enlist in the ‘Christmas-ification’ (as Grian so eloquently put it) of the server. What impressed you the most about the entire endeavor, however, was just how much of a tactical operation it was.
Xisuma had organized the effort in such a way that different teams of Hermits would be decorating different areas of the map. Unsurprisingly, you found yourself grouped with the rest of the Boatem members (much to everyone’s delight), tasked with transforming the village into a winter wonderland.
As Scar wrapped an arm around your shoulder, brown hair bouncing up and down as he wiggled excitedly, you wondered if the mischievous gleam in your fellow server member’s eyes was a trick of the light.
… Why did you feel an impending sense of doom?
Tumblr media
It was almost absurd how many materials the Hermits hoarded, the entire center of Boatem village dotted with chest monsters and spare materials just lying about. Not that you were exempt from the sentiment, though, as you produced yet another shulker box from your inventory filled with spruce leaves and ribbon.
The holiday beautification project was well-underway, and, as you looked over Boatem village, observing your friends as they built beautiful Christmas trees and strung lights all across their builds, you toyed with the thought that maybe, perhaps you all were a bit too invested in this.
The mountain megabase that was still under construction was dotted with pine trees, glittering with glass ornaments and golden tinsel. The gaping maw of the cave that led to Grian’s alleyway base had been modified to include an aurora borealis in the stained glass ceiling, the light from the end rods making the colors shift and dance like the real thing.
On the other side of the village, Grian was helping Scar out with stringing wreaths and ribbons all over his starter base, the avian insisting on outfitting all of his bees with little Santa hats.
It was a miracle the blonde gremlin didn’t become a walking pincushion, what with how many times he could’ve been stung.
“Hey, can someone help me over here?”
You perked up at the sound of Mumbo’s voice, dropping the tinsel you were carefully wrapping around a tree to trot over towards the sound of his voice- coming from in front of the façade of one of the shops Grian had built as part of his base. The tall dark-haired man was perilously perched on a wobbling tower of scaffolding, something that you couldn’t make out held in his hands.
Instinctively, you were moving to hold the stack steady so that the spud didn’t slip, him shooting you a thankful glance for your efforts. You watched as he strung the bundle he was holding up, directly over the door frame. After squinting your eyes for a bit, you suddenly realized what it was he was putting up- mistletoe.
“Does this mean I have to kiss you now?” you asked, only half-joking as Mumbo clambered back down from his place in the skies. The Brit shrugged, dusting off his hands with a satisfied hum.
“If you think you should, I guess. If I were you, though, I might want to save that kiss for someone else,” he said, a teasing edge to his voice that left no questions about who he was speaking of.
“Gods, does everyone know about that?” you said, face flaming at Mumbo’s cheeky grin. He shrugged again.
“Pretty much.”
You groaned, allowing your head to ‘thunk’ into the mustached man’s chest, and he patted your back comfortingly.
“... Why don’t you just confess?”
You blinked your eyes, which had previously been screwed up in righteous pain, open, staring up at Mumbo with a confused look. “Confess? Mumbo, do you know what would happen if I did that? Hels below, that would ruin everything. I’d much rather stay friends than say something and torch our relationship.”
Mumbo furrowed his eyebrows. “But that wouldn’t ruin anything?”
You pulled away, scrubbing at your face in exasperation. “You don’t know that. I’d rather not take the risk, thankyouverymuch.”
Hearing Impulse’s shout in the distance, you reached over to tug at Mumbo’s hand.
“C’mon, let’s-let’s just go.”
The rest of the group had huddled up at the center of the village, just a little bit off to the side of the Boatem hole. As you approached, Mumbo in tow, your eyes caught on the dramatic gestures Grian was making, red-green-blue wings puffing up from the force of his excitement. Smiling amusedly, you didn’t notice Scar’s eyes flicker over to land on where you were still holding the taller man’s hand, usually bright eyes dimming as his smile became strained.
“There you guys are!” Impulse exclaimed, obviously relieved to have a reprieve from Grian’s emphatic ramblings.
“There you guys are!” Impulse exclaimed, obviously relieved to have a reprieve from Grian’s emphatic ramblings.
You waved cheerfully, not-do-discreetly pushing Mumbo towards where the avian was standing. At his bewildered stare, you pinned him with a look that hopefully said ‘calm your bestie down’.
“What’s up?” you said questioningly, eyes flickering between everyone who had gathered together. Impulse grinned, propping his hands up on his hips.
“Christmas cheer, that’s what!”
The group broke out into groans at the corny joke, excluding Scar, who giggled like it was the funniest thing he had ever heard. Your face softened at the sound, watching him fondly out of the corner of your eye as he doubled over with laughter. Silly.
“No, seriously- we’ve all been working hard, so I was going to ask if everyone maybe wanted to take a break?”
The response was a resounding ‘yes’, all of you tired and sore from the sheer amount of decorating you had been doing, deciding to make your way over to Impulse’s base for a quick rest. Even your hands, as calloused from building and mining as they were, were tingly and chafing. At this point you were tempted to pull off your gloves and just bury them in a nearby snowbank to relieve the stinging.
Scar must’ve noticed your discomfort, your mouth pressed into a hard line, because soon enough he was dropping back from the rest of your group to walk beside you, nudging you slightly with an arm.
“Are you okay?” he murmured, expression open and concerned as he searched your gaze worriedly.
You huffed slightly, offering him a small smile. “I’m fine, just scratched my hands up a little.”
Scar frowned, the expression reminding you hauntingly of a sad puppy, and grabbed for one, holding it gently between his own. You flustered at the contact, averting your eyes with a slight cough and praying that he didn’t notice how stiff you had suddenly become.
“Well, when we get inside we can patch you up, alright?”
You nodded, tucking the shy smile that was spreading across your face into the warm collar of your jacket. Gods damn it Scar, why do you have to be so cute?
However, as you reached the main door to Impulse’s base, you realized that you had one glaring issue: You and Scar were heading directly towards the door, where somebody had hung another bunch of mistletoe. The green sprigs innocently swayed in the breeze, almost as if it was taunting you with its very presence.
Your eyes darted towards the brunette at your side. The last thing you wanted to do was kiss him. What if you made everything weird? What if he didn’t like it? What if he realized that you had a crush on him and didn’t want to speak to you anymore?
Yeah, you were not going to risk it.
… So how, exactly, were you going to deal with this?
You glanced towards your feet, thinking, and, after a moment, it was like a lightbulb had gone off above your head. Surreptitiously, you wiggled your foot out of one of your boots until the garment was barely on, your ankle bent at an awkward position to account for the sudden looseness. Then, in what could be argued to be the most graceful move in all of Hermitcraft history, you tripped, sending your shoe flying.
Scar made a sound somewhere between a bicycle horn and the yelp of a kicked puppy, practically teleporting over to where you were sprawled across the ground.
“I’m okay, I’m okay,” you said, answering the unasked question in his eyes. “Just- go ahead without me. I need to get my boot.”
“Are you sure?” Scar queried, worrying his lip between his teeth. You tried not to stare at his mouth for too long.
“Yeah, I won’t be far behind.”
Mission success!
You entered Impulse’s base a few minutes later (your boot safely secured back on your person) only for Scar to drag you to one of the chairs, the material surprisingly comfortable despite the industrial theming. As the brunette fussed over your injuries, you glanced up to catch Pearl’s exasperated look towards you, scrunching your face up in confusion. Before you could ask her what her problem was, however, you were interrupted by Impulse.
“Scar, I think I have some bandages and health pots somewhere in storage if you want to go get those.”
“Yes! Those would be amazin’!” the other player breathed, a relieved look on his face as he hurried through the door that Impulse had gestured to. You paused as you watched him leave, suspicion suddenly crackling through your body as though you had been struck by lightning.
Whipping your head around, you catalogued every entrance and doorway in the vicinity, horror dawning on your expression. You made eye contact with the rest of the group, face paling as you recognized the self-satisfied expressions painted across their features.
They had hung mistletoe from. Every. Single. One.
Was this what true betrayal felt like?
The next few minutes were spent avoiding getting caught under any of the doorways with Scar in a grand maneuver that would’ve made even the greatest spy proud. Whether it was by ‘conveniently’ forgetting something in the other room, or furtively pulling up next to another one of your friends to kiss them instead (completely missing the injured flash in Scar’s eyes), you were quite proud with how well you had been able to keep yourself from being put into an awkward situation with the man who was only supposed to be your best friend.
Naturally, you couldn’t stay winning forever.
“Alright gang,” Grian chirped, a strained smile on his face as he attempted to hide the frustration he was sure that everyone else was feeling. How the hell had you managed to slip out of their trap for so long? “I think it’s time to head back out.”
Gathering up your things, you filed out with the rest of the group, finally allowing yourself to relax as you exited the base. After this, you wouldn’t have to worry about having to kiss Scar. As nice as it would be, you would basically be taking advantage of him. You felt sick even thinking about it- you never wanted to abuse his trust like that. Ever.
However, as you reached the doorway, walking a few paces behind Scar, you weren’t counting on Pearl’s annoyance with you to bubble over. The two of you had been avoiding your feelings- mutual feelings- for each other for too long, in her opinion. It was time to end this.
For that second time that day, you stumbled, a well-timed push sending you tripping over your own feet and into Scar’s arms. You went shock-still in his embrace, even as the brunette’s hands encircled your waist to keep you from tumbling over. Dazed, you blinked up at him, only to find his gaze already on you, something so soft in their olivine depths that it sent heat scorching through your cheeks.
Your eyes were glued to his face, even as he glanced up, a shy, lopsided grin working its way across his cheeks.
“Look,” he said, voice so low it was almost a whisper. “We’re under the mistletoe.”
And, as your gaze flickered up to follow his, you realized that he was right.
Well, shit.
You were about to pull away, panic settling over your features as it suddenly occurred to you that this was it, this was the end of your friendship, when he tightened his grip on you, something that almost looked like desperation flitting over his features.
“Please,” he said, a beseeching tone in his voice that sent your racing thoughts screeching to a halt. “Please kiss me.”
You never wanted to abuse his trust, but who were you to deny him when he asked so nicely?
As you pushed up, gently pressing your lips against his in a sweet, slow moment, you were deaf to the elated cries of your friends.
Pearl slumped against the door.
“About time you lovebirds stopped being idiots.”

Raindrops
Oneshot Zombie Cleo x reader Contains: Fluff
It's late, but it's here. My second addition to, what was, under appreciated hermit week! Thank you again to @boop-ity for suggesting this ---------------------------- The sound of rain pattering softly on your window is what woke you up. It didn't compel you to get out of bed, not for a little while.
The day was new, and for some time you weren't sure you were ready for it. But there were things to do, places to go.
Your morning routine was set into motion and before you knew it you were ready for the day. Just about anyway.
With one final swig you finish your drink, washing the glass up straight away and leaving it upside down on the draining board to dry. You dry your hands on the hand towel, staring ahead of you and out of the window.
The rain seems heavier than it was when you woke up, drying your hands feels counterproductive, they're only going to get wet again.
Placing the towel in its usual place you turn off the kitchen light and head for the front door. Pulling on your most waterproof footwear and coat you're just about ready to go.
You make sure your hood is up and secure, and all the things you need are stuffed in your pockets before entering the rather damp outside world.
The rain is heavier than you thought, but not too much to handle. The small drops of water land on the ground, on you, on everything that isn't sheltered.
The walk to the shopping district luckily isn't too far. You'd fly, but flying in the rain isn't always the safest option. Besides, it's nice to really take in the scenery every once in a while.
Spawn village is such a beautiful place, it was a wonderful place to start a new world. The hermits and yourself built it from the ground up, to what it is now.
The path from your place joins up to the path along the river between Jevin and False's bases. As you walk toward the shopping district you take a quick look in the flower shop.
You make a note of what there is, the vase on your kitchen table has been empty for too long. A couple of fresh flowers will brighten the place up.
The rain seems to pick up as you continue toward the shopping distance. As your clothes continue to become saturated with water the cold starts to settle in.
You quicken your pace, wanting to be under shelter as soon as possible. Hopefully you don't catch a chill from being damp and cold for a while.
The shopping district appears in the distance, a grey silhouette against a grey sky.  The colours of the shops are hard to make out, each drop of rain making the usually bright and colourful area seem so dull.
You don't dilly dally around, picking up the things you need from the shops you need to go into. You rush between them, from door to door. You stay under trees where you can. At this point you're pretty much soaked.
Once you've bought the last of the things you need, frog lights, you stop. The rain is still pouring outside. You're soaked through already. You may as well wait in here where it's warm from all the lights, where you're sheltered from more rain.
You wait and wait, but the rain doesn't let up. It pours and pours.
You sigh, you're just going to have to go. The rain is cold when you step outside. So much colder than the warm interior or iLuminate. But you know you just have to go.
You head towards home, feeling colder by the moment. This is going to be a long walk.
With every step you can feel your clothes clinging to your skin a little more. You'd dried off pretty well in iLuminate, but in the end it was all for nothing.
"Y/n." You glance back toward the shopping district hearing your name, but you can't make anything out in the blur of the raindrops. You shrug it off, continuing your journey home.
"Y/n!" The voice calls again. This time you stop walking, turning fully to face the direction from which you came. You place your hand on your forehead, attempting to shield your eyes from the raindrops.
You squint into the grey haze, eyes spotting a shape coming in your direction. You stand and wait, the person slowly becoming more visible.
The person that walks toward you is Cleo, she waves, picking up their speed a little to catch up with you. "You're soaked." Cleo notes, "come here."
The two of you meet face to face. Cleo lifts her umbrella so it covers both of you. They grab your arm, pulling you even closer. That way none of you is still getting rained on. You can see their dress is now getting damp, rain hitting her back.
"I'd think you'd know better than to go out in this weather with nothing to protect you from the rain." Cleo's eyes tell you she's joking but serious at the same time. "I thought it would let up." You shrug.
They smile softly at you, "let me walk you home. My umbrella will keep some of the rain off of you." Cleo's words aren't a question, more of a you will let them walk you home.
"No, no, it's alright." You say anyway. You don't want her going out of their way to make sure you'll be drier. "The rain's only going to get worse, Y/n. You already look like a wet sponge." You chuckle at their words.
"Alright, alright. You can walk me home." Cleo takes you by the arm triumphantly. "You're right, I will." She grins.
Despite the pouring rain Cleo brightens your walk home. And not getting soaked (again) is a bonus.
You're actually sad to see your house appear. The feeling sinks in even deeper as you get to your front door. You unlock it, stepping out from underneath Cleo's umbrella and into the shelter of your home.
"Thank you, for walking me home." You smile softly. "I couldn't leave a pretty thing like you out in the rain, now could I?" You feel your face burn the second they finish speaking, stumbling over your words.
Cleo laughs, face lit up against the dull background. The sound of her laughter fills you with joy.
"You're so cute. Genuinely." She seems to calm down, locking eyes with you. They reach out a hand and take one of yours, lightly squeezing it. Of course you squeeze back, the smile on their face growing just that little bit more.
"I need to go, I wish I didn't. You wouldn't mind if I came round tomorrow, would you?" The look in their eyes is hopeful, you feel warm. Your hand feels like it's burning from the contact.
"I wouldn't mind." Cleo seems to relax. She leans forward, placing a feather light kiss on your cheek.
As Cleo pulls away you overall feel cold once again. Your hand no longer tingles. It's just empty.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Y/n." Cleo waves. "See you tomorrow." You reply, watching as they turn around and walk away.
You watch as her image is obscured by the rain more and more. Until Cleo disappears from your sight completely.
There's an emptiness in your heart, a longing. Thank watchers above you'll be able to feel whole again tomorrow.

This took some getting into, wattpad crashed every time I tried to access my draft... but we got there (also yes the formatting is still busted, hopefully I can fix that next week)
Autumn with Cleo Headcanons
Contains: Fluff
--------------------
Cleo loves spooky season
Jack o Lanterns galore
Cleo always hollows out the pumpkins since you don't like the way the seeds feel
Your entire house is lit by Jack o Lantern, and the path to the house. No exceptions.
It usually doesn't stop at your house either
You and Cleo play a game in your house, taking turns to hide a small Pumpkin Teddy and waiting to see how long it takes the other to find it
Last time you found it Cleo has somehow managed to stuff it in a vase filled with preserved flowers, they were higher than they should have been
It took you some time to get the plushie out of there
The two of you tend to get others involved as well
One year Jevin got involved and that nearly ended in the destruction of both bases
Thankfully it didn't get that far It's all in good fun
Autumn comes with rain, which means plenty of rainy days by the fire
The two of you have quite the book collection, so rainy days means reading Sometimes Cleo will read to you. Sometimes you will read to Cleo
Another rainy day activity you both enjoy is puzzles
You'll both sit in the light of a Jack o Lantern (or 5) and puzzle together
You even have a fancy puzzle table so your progress can be preserved
A few years back it was discovered it would be easier to make your own candles for the Jack o Lanterns
Not that you stopped at tea lights
Cleo's favourites are the Pumpkin shaped candles with carved faces, a reminder of the Jack o Lanterns the two of you have made together
More than a few hermits have been tricked by custom candle shenanigans
Doc once even took a bite from a candle that looked like a slice of apple pie The funniest part was it wasn't even that convincing of a candle
Turns out most hermits will take a bite of something that looks like food without testing it first It's surprising how many will do it twice
The best thing about Autumn is that it's the start of cozy season with Cleo, that you'll always be grateful for

Lore for Medium Reader
Let's start at the beginning, shall we?
In the beginning, there were a group of Eldritch beings, and among them, were two. The duo of beings known as The Knight and The Warden. Each tasked with a very important role and given a name to reflect that role. They chose to band together even when lines were drawn and the other beings of their kind clashed.
Sadly it did not remain this way for long. An unfortunate incident split the two into seperate beings. In their fear and confusion, the newly created beings fled from the forces that divided them and found shelter for a brief bit to recoup and figure out who they were now.
They decided to stick together, afterall even with them being split they were still the whole beings they were before. So long as they all sticked to gether then it would be like it was before. They still had each other and that hadn’t changed
The ragtag pairs traveled through the dimensions, worldhopping trying to desperately stay ahead of the terror chasing them. In their travels, they gained names and a better grasp of who they were as seperate beings. They named themselves, Hels and Wels Knight, and EX and Xisuma Ward.
As they traveled through the worlds, they came across many other beings, demons and wayward spirits, many with their own tragic pasts. Slowly their group grew, picking up other lost souls and giving them a place to belong.
Then, they found this plane of existance. This plane seemed far safer than the others. Their abilities didn’t have major effect on their surroundings and so they could hide amongst the humans here.
That was until the humans learned. The clever little mortals with their fancy little gadgets. The small devices could tell where the group was and puck up their presence. They were interested in this, up until they realized the humans seemed to only see them as malicious. All their attempts at contact were only seen as attacks.
And then, they saw you. A human standing out among the rest. And you were speaking to a spirit, taking them by the hand and calming them. You were able to see and speak to the spirits of this world? AND you were treating them with a care that they all had been craving? They had to know more.
They didn't mean for you to see them watching you from a distance. And to be fair, they hadn't meant to be acting off. Several members of their group had rather monstrous forms and they'd hate if you reacted badly to it. So they had been fashioning humanoid forms specifically to interact with you.
You knew there was something watching you, several somethings. You had spent your entire life with the abilities you had, and so you knew how to recognize these things. You figured that the spirits were just shy, nothing you hadn't dealt with before. This came to a head when you caught glimpses of people out of the corner of your eye.
Neither you nor the gang were expecting what would happen the day that you approached. You had had enough and decided to take matters into your own hands.
You drew a breath, squared your shoulders, and took the first step forward. You could see your targets, a lovely woman with orange hair and a young man with a peculiar mustache. You had seen them peak at you from around the corner and duck back when they realized that you saw them. Even now as you approached, you could hear the whispered conversation between what sounded like multiple voices.
Stepping around the corner showed the biggest group of ghosts you had ever seen in your life. Clearing your throat, you watched as like a ripple effect, all heads turned to look at you. You had startled them apparently.
Taking another step forwards, you raised your eyes to look at the one that stepped to be in front of the rest. He was marked with an x shaped scar between his eyes and had his long white hair in a braid. You cleared your throat, trying to brush off the last of your nerves. And then, you spoke,
"Hello, my name is Reader. Can I help you?"

Once you're done the two of you will just chat Often about things completely unrelated
Cleo keeps things light hearted
Her main goal in these times becomes to make you laugh
They say laughter is the best medicine and Cleo takes this to heart
She'll crack little jokes while she tells you stories
That's another thing she likes to do to help cheer you up
Cleo is an amazing storyteller, she creates these amazing fantasy worlds, each tailored to what you need in the moment
Her stories are interactive too, she makes sure that you have a say in the narrative while keeping it all in the same world

As she always does

Armour Stands And Memories
Drabble ZombieCleo x Reader Contains: Platonic relationship ----------------------------------
For the last three days you've been here, over at Cleo's base. She had an IOU, and ultimately decided to cash it when for some much needed help.
Armour stand skills weren't super common on the server, at least not to the level Cleo is at. But you're a close second. So when possibly the biggest project of her life came up she decided to ask you for help.
You had been more than happy to help, it meant spending time with Cleo after all. The two of you have been close friends since you joined Hermitcraft, although you've not hung out in some time.
It's a shame because the two of you have such a close relationship with her, your skill sets working hand in hand. This isn't the first time she's asked for your help on an armour stand project, the two of you have worked on quite a few.
Every time you work on a project together there is always lots of laughs between friends, and occasionally a little bit of server gossip. Today has been much more focused on little jokes, thinking about old times. Sever gossip was covered in the days prior.
"Do you remember seeing my first attempts with the armour stands?" You ask. You see Cleo look over at you, eyes shining from behind the book.
"I do, to be honest for you not having much practice it was pretty good." You feel your cheeks heat up a bit, both embarrassed that she remembers and grateful for the compliment.
"I'm glad you thought it was good, looking back I thought it was amazing, although it most certainly wasn't." Cleo chuckles, making minor tweaks to her stand.
"You had potential the the will to learn. That's why I approached you to teach you how to do it properly." You place down another stand, handing it a block before using the book to make it invisible. "I appreciate it, it comes in very handy."
Cleo smiles as she repeats the actions you just took. "It does, I'm just glad I'm not the only one who knows how to do it anymore. It means when others want those big scenes that we can get it done twice as fast." "Oh absolutely. We have the teamwork that makes the dream work." Cleo laughs, "That we do."

If you have any spare Cleo × Reader hc's where reader is sick (the flu), I'd love to hear them. ♡
Once, when you were delirious with a fever, Cleo took care of you. Her usually brash demeanor dissolved when you pressed your forehead into her cold hand, and she couldn’t help but cuddle with you the whole time, petting your hair until the fever went down.

may i have a Cleo x ftm!reader? thank you!
Cleo knew you before you came out, and always used to comment on how pretty you were. It made you worry that if you came out, you’d lose any chance you had with her. But after you started to transition, Cleo’s complements only increased, until she confessed that she thought your genuine smile was the most wonderful thing in the world. That was what gave you the courage to ask her out.
