oohh okay so this is interesting! because my feelings about them changed a lot from s1 to s2! and in completely opposite ways!

so. for most of s1, i just didn't care about jeff. he was a man. oblivious. and cheating on his wife. but then, plot twist! he wasn't cheating on her! he was still oblivious and "there's no bookclub?!" was one of my fav lines, so i liked him! but in s2, there was way too much jeff, and like callie said, he was being way too judgy for someone that pretty much kickstarted this whole thing by blackmailing shauna's friends and then tried to act like he hadn't done anything wrong?? i don't hate him, and he's certainly more entertaining to watch than other men on the show. but i'm just done with jeff

now callie!!! in s1, i was like ??? how could you be so rude when your mom is literally melanie lynskey shauna shipman??? but!! despite her awful taste in men and the fact that i had to stand pornstache on my screen just to watch her, she reallyyy grew on me this season. generation trauma is a thing and it's coming for her!!! do you know how much i have to love a character for them to literally shoot my favorite character and my ass still cheers her on and immediately forgives her??? i literally can't wait to see her s3 arc!! it's going to be incredible and i firmly believe that she's final girl shaped

You can't say you were surprised, they were always lacking in the intimacy department. And then had the audacity to cheat on you with someone who looks like a super model.

Kind of ironic that she was the one who told you about the whole ordeal(she purely thought they were single).

Now you're in your apartment five months later watching some shitty rom-com, with your roommate Paris.

You nodded and put your focus on the tv, as if the camera man knew telepathically about your plan and the camera panned to the man of the hour.

You dropped your spoon in your bowl, completely memerized.

"I retract my last statement," Paris mumbles. "You clearly find him attractive."

"Okay then send a dm or go to a game." Paris suggested.

And you did exactly that, you dmed him saying he was cute and to your shock he actually responded(after the game of course)

"Well first off calm down, and what did he say?" Paris asked.

You listened to Paris and two weeks later, you and Quinn met up and went on a date.

You two got along pretty well, he told you how much he values his family and that he would do almost anything for them.

You were pretty much the same, you also went on about Paris and how he would love her.

Three months have gone by and the two of you were going swell, you couldn't be more happier.

Quinn was driving you home after another date, a hand on your thigh as he drove. You looked out the window and hummed to the song playing on the radio.

"This is really nice." You turned to look at him with a smile. "I had a nice time tonight."

Quinn mimicked your smile as he stopped infront of your apartment building. "I had a nice time too."

You nodded. "Well goodnight Quinn, see you soon."

You were about to get out of the car when Quinn placed his hand on your wrist.

"Before you go, I wanna ask you something." Quinn spoke softly. "I like you, I like you a lot Y/n... I was just wondering if- if you want things to be official, for me to be your boyfriend?"

Quinn looked at you as he tried his best to read your facial expressions, hoping to ease his nerves.

What he didn't expect however was for your lips to meet his in a soft kiss, you caressed his face. His body going still.

You broke away with a soft smile. "I would love that."

Quinn nervously chuckled at your words. "Yeah, that's-" He ran his fingers through his hair. "That's good, makes me very happy you said yes."

"You haven't done anything for me to say no." You teased.

Quinn chuckled and nodded. "That's true, text me when you get inside?"

"I will, don't worry." You waved at Quinn as you entered the building.

Quinn knew it then as he saw your figure go further away, you were it for him. And the obvious, he was in love with you.

For once in his life, he felt content and happy. And more importantly, he felt like a lovesick fool.

OFCCC!! i wrote a lot more about this than i thought i could, and i feel like i could keep going but i do wish to go to sleep! ty for the ask! (there was also an anon ask with this question, idk if it was you, but i'm just gonna answer this one lol)

the choir boys all know each other irl (obvi they still have choir together). everyone lives roughly in the same vicinity, but no one knows that.

they all met online during the pandemic. possibly through video games, twitter, or tiktok

how did this ragtag group of people all become friends? idk fortnite probably

i don't know much about fortnite, but it seems like it would start some friendships and/or rivalries. maybe minecraft or roblox too.

how they met and became friends is hazy, like how the beta kids became friends in homestuck. point is: they're all friends. pretty much.

some boys are closer friends than others, but they're all mutuals. they're all in like the same community. what community? that is a good question i should probably think of an answer

piggy uses the nickname people bullied him with as his online name. he gets cyberbullied and has ended up on many a cringe account, but it doesn't really bother him anymore. he likes to spread information, but he was a little self-righteous about it before he quit twitter. now he argues with people on instagram. piggy's also a redditor.

ralph usually just watches other people's content, but sometimes he'll post something and it'll get pretty popular because he's ralph and being well-liked is an innate part of his character. ralph does prefer to go out and do stuff than being online all the time.

simon is chronically online. being shy, he gravitated towards the internet. he's definitely a fandom girlie and has a tumblr (hi tumblr). he spreads positivity on the internet all the time. he's one of the good ones fr. i do hc simon as a Christian, so he does spread the Word a lot as an lgbtq affirming Christian dude

jack doesn't spend too much time on the internet. he also isn't allowed a lot of these medias by his parents, so that may have something to do with it. he does get upset when his posts don't get as many likes as ralph's

roger ragebaits and leaves hate comments all the time, but he has moments where he's nice. maurice memer obviously. sam and eric are the voros twins. i don't have too many thoughts about these guys just yet

But I shan't take this advice for granted, for there are only treasures the further I adventure into ao3.

It actually took me a little bit to get to this, and I fully intend to answer your ask about Piggy as well eventually!

I don’t really know how to introduce this topic, so I won’t, I’ll just say that I liked him mostly because he’s seen as the jokester of the boys. Because of the way people saw him was the “memer” because he made those kids laugh in that one scene. I thought he was funny! One of my favorite lines in the book is so simple and so silly, and it was the one about Maurice having both his legs in one side of his shorts (I actually drew this a couple years ago and never posted).

Initially, I just wanted to make a meme page, and Maurice fit the bill for a suitable mascot for the blog, but having him as the face of my blog made me a lot more conscious of him, and he became my favorite over time.

What I’ve come to realize is that I tend to like more pure-hearted characters, which is also the reason I tend to like children’s media. Because the protagonists are all pure of heart and not as cynical as characters from more mature media. I think I had a positive first impression of Maurice when he was introduced in the book as “grinning all the time.” He’s happy and simply being what he is, just a kid.

I realize that Maurice is eventually lost to savagery like most everyone else in the book, but his appearances in the first fraction of the book depict him as being carefree, and at times, more conscious of others than the other kids and even himself later on. Given, this is only because society had imprinted on him so heavily.

In this scene depicted below, Roger and Maurice walk toward the beach from the woods, and they both kick down sandcastles on their way. But as soon as Percival begins to cry, Maurice stops because someone at home had raised a hand to him for hurting a child sometime before his arrival on the island. It might just be how heavily society influenced him, but it shows that he was raised well and that he was disciplined and conscious enough of others’ feelings the least amount to refrain from making Percival cry more despite there being no one to punish him anymore, unlike Roger. It says something about his personal character, even if it’s not very strong (since he gave in later). I honestly doubt that Roger had zero discipline in his life, so that was an act of him disregarding the respect for others he should have been taught at a minimal level (hence why he isn’t my favorite character, though I still love him).

As for design, even if you didn’t ask about it, the reason I gave him a middle part is simply because everyone else seemed to be doing it at the time too. And the reason I gave him a big purple bow has nothing to do with canon at all. I just wanted a way to set my Maurice aside from everyone else’s. I had just watched Beauty and the Beast’s live action, and Belle’s father, Maurice, had a tiny little bow to tie up his hair, and I happened to incorporate it into Maurice’s design. Actually, his bow was small and off to the side the first time I drew him, but it got bigger over time, until it framed his entire lower half of his head. My association of Maurice and purple was also completely random. Purple was just the first color I saw when I was coloring his bow that first time. I really like seeing people associate purple with Maurice! It makes me happy, even if it is by pure coincidence!

TLDR: I just think he’s sweet and silly! He’s the more lighthearted, inconsequential character in the book, and I like that!

I’m actually cooking up individual personalities for the sableye rn! I haven’t gotten down to the nitty-gritty of each individual, but they’ve all got names and a few have some details to help separate them from each other in terms of look. Here’s some notes for a teaser:

Jasper is a very intense character, despite being an incurable prankster who you’d expect to be more lighthearted. He takes pranks very seriously— they were his passion when the Dark Future was a thing, and now that whole mess is all wrapped up, they are his life. Do not spoil a prank he’s planning if you value your kneecaps.

Jet was pretty much a secretary for Dusknoir back in the Dark Future. Very organized, responsible, and obsessed with punctuality. He was the sableye who got distracted by Shinies the least, though that’s not to say he never saw a pretty piece of seaglass and jumped out of the time travel equivalent of a moving car. He has a notch in the base of his right ear-looking thingy.

Tourmaline (often just called Tourmi) is impatient and bossy, but means well. Fond of cooking, and uses way too many spices in his dishes. He just dumps an entire shaker of black pepper into a small pot of soup and calls it good.

Cinnabar just wants to spend all her time reading. The fact she’s got terrible insomnia is not a major inconvenience to her— it is a superpower. Everyone will turn in for the night and she’ll go “Okay time to start another 400 page novel!! I need to know what happens next!!”

Jade likes teasing her friends and making horrible Pinterest fail-looking crafts. Has a small gemstone beneath her left eye that resembles a beauty mark. Loves drama and gossip.

Smaragdus doesn’t understand anything that’s going on around him at any given point. A major ditz, a bit of a philosopher, very creative, and extremely confused by the types of humor his peers enjoy. He wears an earring as a memento from a dear friend. Loves fighting.

I can totally see Jet tagging along with Dusknoir to the Present, though he would need a steady stream of busywork to stay sane in such a peaceful environment! He’s very timid and would also struggle keenly to adapt to socializing in a non-post-apocalyptic scenario. He only ever really spoke to Dusknoir and the other sableye in the Dark Future, after all, and he’s known them for most of his life! I think he’d end up getting along really well with Chatot, once they both got over their individual rigidity enough to ask what the other person does for fun. (They both like cleaning and organization. They look at each other after answering in the same way and they both think to themselves, Oh my goodness it’s the only other sane person in the world. We’re going to have so much to complain about together.)

On a side note 83.33% of the group are memers and neither Dusknoir nor Smaragdus understand the majority of what comes out of their mouths.

Worst part of canon.

Oh boy there's a long list. I genuinely do not know what part of canon I would say is the worst.

I'm just gonna fire off some of my takes as the aspects of canon that I dislike. This is in absolutely no coherent order whatsoever.

I dislike the direction that Magnus has been taken [going from a potentially very interesting daemon primarch who chafes and secretly works to free himself from the grasp of Tzeentch vs old bird man with dementia], though this is mainly how Chaos characters have been treated in modern 40k as a whole. There's scant few who didn't feel like flanderized villains and who had actual depth and interest. Shoutout to Josh Reynold's Apocalypse for being able to keep a balanced narrative and have a lot of depth for all sides of the conflict. Also rare W for Guy Haley for handling Kor Phaeron super fucking well in Throne of Light, despite only having him exist for 3 chapters. It was his first 40k appearance and it wasn't god awful.

I very heavily dislike the demonization of queerness with the overt association with Slaanesh - note: I think it's cool that Slaanesh is seen as the queer god, but I do not like how basically the entirety of the novel Fulgrim and some subsequent texts treat queerness as being bad and demonic and degenerate. That fucking sucks. As I said in a previous ask, as a queer dude myself, I don't feel very welcome or comfortable in fandom spaces for this reason.

I do not like how Lorgar was handled in the novel Slaves to Darkness, partially because it completely wrote him out of the Siege and how it completely humiliated him in what felt like fan service to all of the grimdark memers. It then made the lore about which Word Bearers were/were not on Terra fuzzy, something that gets egregiously fuzzier as the Siege wears on. The majority of the Legion followed Lorgar after Ullanor. How are there still thousands upon thousands upon thousands of them fighting on the Spirit and on Terra? Also, now it opens up the question of what the fuck happened to him afterwards, a question that I am convinced will never be answered. And maybe that is a good thing.

I do not enjoy the short story "The Reflection Crack'd" and could go without it being canon, partially due to the demonization of queerness that is rampant in earlier BL stuff.

I do not enjoy the direction Sortiarius was maybe hinted at going. I understand not wanting to make a one-to-one Prospero, but I genuinely think making it into a gun factory is not better. This is supposed to be the New Kingdom. Give it to the humans or something. Do something better than gun factory. Also, I dislike how little has been shown on Sortiarius, or anything connected to the New Kingdom. A Better Place/A Promise Fulfilled easily could fill novels and they should.

I do not enjoy the push for the Imperials being The Heroes and The Good Guys despite the setting having obviously theocratic fash leanings for the Imperium. Sorry, WarCom, but I have read at least three entries from the Dawn of Fire series, and the Imperials were horribly bland and heroic. I dislike the evaporation of the grey from the setting.

I do not enjoy how the xenos factions are sidelined again and again and again. The Necrons were able to enjoy some popularity as of late, thank everything, but all other factions deserve it too. Stop treating them as nothing more than side pieces when they have their own characters, societies, and histories, GW. I can maybe pass the tyranids, but at bare min genestealers deserve something.

The man who said "I have an avowed weakness for dusky women" from Betrayer was weird and creepy and I feel like could have probably Not existed. I do not like him. That was fucking weird.

I know people would probably say "oh daemonculaba" but honestly I've gotten over that entire thing by now. Yeah yeah it's disgusting, it's horrific, it's terrible, but so is 95% of the stuff that happens in the setting. Would I rather it not be canon? Maybe, if just to get people to shut the hell up about it.

Exception for the one artist human on here who's name I am forgetting who created Fernka with the daemonculaba. I would keep it canon purely for them. Fernka is wonderful.

OH. From the Vigilus campaign, Abbadon not killing Calgar. He absolutely should've. Let characters die, GW. Calgar could be replaced by a new primaris who you could give character to and maybe get people to like the primaris lore-wise who are otherwise averse to it. Maybe. But that SERIOUSLY felt like such a big let down, especially with the new Abbadon model released + the Chaos refresh that accompanied it.

my grandmother (dad's mom) came over to visit earlier. she has dementia so conversations with her can sometimes take unexpected turns. and she can be having a whole conversation, asking questions, and then not remember what we were just talking about. same question 5 times in a row. i'm not complaining! just the reality. i love her very much, we laugh a lot together.

so when she was here earlier she asked me where i work and what my job entails. i did not expect her to ask if i help people bathe (i do) and if i only help women, or men too (i help both). and that's when i knew i need to buckle my seatbelt and brace for whatever she was about to say. admittedly, i should have lied about it to her in order to avoid what she said next, but i really didn't expect it😭

she asked me "do they ever get a hard on?". hand in her lap, pointer finger extended upwards💀. my dad was sitting right next to her and he stood up and walked away lmfaooooo.

she's never said anything like that before😭 i didn't make a big deal, i just acted like it was a normal question and answered her that no, i don't encounter that kind of thing at work. i mean i was definitely laughing, she said she was surprised because men "like to show it"💀💀💀. i know memere, i know.

later we were having an unrelated conversation and she asked me if my father is still alive. my dad is her son😭

which C/Kathe/Rin would he choose from Catherine if he played it? i was bored at work and had fun thinking about it because i know this man deeply and intimately. one day i'll fucking GET him (<- violence)

Rin: initially I think he'd like Rin the most because the game lets you/Vincent believe that Rin is a flat-chested woman (basically a legal l*li type). s4 is a l*licon this is self-explanatory. also the strong personalities of the C/Katherines would put him off because he sees himself as some sort of dominant ~bdsm style~ despite not having had sex ever. eventually the game reveals that Rin is a femboy. SO at this point whether s4 continues to pursue him is entirely dependent on how much of a reddit gaylord memer he wants to be. If he is streaming then chat may convince him to go for the femboy and he'll do it for the joke, but if he is playing it alone there's no way he'd choose Rin. Das it

Katherine: she's the most domineering of the love interests so this would immediately make him not like her, especially because he reflexively hates on the nagging wife trope any chance he gets (remember s4 is a KHHV and therefore has never felt the touch of a woman). then again, we also have to keep in mind that surefour is "demisexual" and the idea of a long-term monogamous relationship that becomes marriage WOULD sound nice to him, and in full body they added more K scenes including flashbacks to when she was a high-school-aged kawaii nerdy tomboy princess. plus i have a feeling that his honest, default answers to the quiz questions would push him to K. there is a fair chance that towards the middle/end of the game he'd go for her, HOWEVER-

Catherine: it starts as an adulterous hookup which he'd hate besides the sex, plus she repeatedly ignores and interrupts you/Vincent when you try to break it off. he may fall for her womanly charm and seductive nature (she is a succubus after all) but his insistence that he is truly demisexual combined with his desire to not be overpowered by a domineering woman would make him not like C.

before we conclude we must consider that s4's type is white/black/silver-haired women, and that he likes animal features (cat ears and tails) in women. under normal circumstances K would be his ideal woman because she is mildly alternative. BUT Catherine can becomes any man's ideal woman, AND in full body they added the le wholesome tradwife ending for her including marriage and children. plus she is less like a real person and more like a character, and s4's ideal woman is an anime girl b/c he is scared of real women. therefore i am leaning strongly towards Catherine. i would mock him for being such a pussy but i am terrified of women and men so that's like being a double pussy. i'm drinking so i can be honest rn. i'm a pussy
