what advice would you give to a 19 year old?

just bc you find someone hot or funny doesn’t mean you should immediately date them, just because someone gives you attention doesn’t mean they’re the right person for you, being 19 is not “old” and you should embrace it rather than dread it, work out now so your future self can thank u later, use your planner, network w your professors because you’ll never know when you’ll need their connections in the future, stop fucking comparing, everyone’s secretly struggling, no one is worth putting on a pedestal, decentralize dating in general tbh, having a crush is fine but don’t obsess, interrogate yourself on what you truly want, explore new things (stop sticking so religiously to your comfort zone), nothing on your phone is that deep, have a plan for the future (it’s okay if it changes), put effort into friendships but don’t chase people, put yourself out there because it really does amount to something, decentralize luxury brands bc that shit is overrated as fuck, journal more, experiment w fashion and perfume and your general style, having social media is ok but spend less time on your phone in general, not everyone will like you and that is okay, you won’t like everyone and that is okay, don’t take people’s reactions so personally, don’t take yourself so seriously, invest in therapy

Aging has been so kind to me tbh bc when you’re in your teens (even as far as your late teens) you truly do think you know it all and you’ll forever plateau at the mental state you’re at and that it doesn’t get “better” from there it just gets more tolerable. And then you get a lil older and you do 180 degree takes on so many topics and you realize that you ARE malleable and that in fact you do change and morph and you’re not doomed to thinking like you did at 17. Change is so very real

Life is so, so, so weird. One day I'll be 80, at deathbed, breathing for the last time and my only wish would be to do it all over again.

Death will blind the pain and I will only see the smiles, and laughs, and tears.

Or maybe death wouldn't blind the pain, maybe I would be courageous enough to do it all over again, because I would know death will come for me anyways.

i want to shake many young women and say you can grow in private. and what i mean by that is that you don’t have to publicly self-flagellate when you don’t know something or when you say something a little insensitive or whatever else. you don’t have to report your Bad Thoughts and Ignorance to the crowd who waits to judge you. you do not have to pay penance. you do not have to issue public statements. nothing more is gained from burying yourself in shame than you could gain by thinking “oh i don’t know about this” and looking it up real quick, or thinking “hm, that wasn’t how i want to behave, i’ll do different next time” and then moving on with your life. no need to choke yourself with it.

Might be the year I delete all social media…..I’m tireddddd…too much comparing . I forget that I am cool and beautiful and smart and interesting all on my own sometimes. I think that humans were not made for whatever is happening with technology the past few years

i hope that in 2025 u get to take more walks, read more books, connect with more people whom u love and who love u, achieve ur goals (even if ur goals are having no goals and just living in the moment), exercise fun hobbies, move from a place of self-direction, and weave together a beguiling assortment of beautiful little moments. remember that no feeling lasts forever. love u
