what do you think is the most dangerous misconception or misundersating there is about ramcoa survivors and or programmjng survivors in praticular? What would you change in ramcoa spaces to make them more safe?
The most dangerous thing in my opinion is supporting the idea that there's some mysterious shadowy international and cross-continental government behind every organized abuse/crime group to exist. It's fearmongering; shit like that puts all survivors, not just programming survivors, in a position of constant paranoia and fear that they're going to be tracked down or dragged back into their group. Even if you know it's not true, it's still scary and I really wish people would stop claiming it's true.
For programming survivors specifically; the idea that everything in your system is always a program and that programming is infinite and never breaks. All three things are false because you're still a system; you'll split outside of programmed parts, you can split parts from programming trauma without them being specifically intended to be programmed. Programming is also a type of conditioning, meaning that it needs reinforcement of the behaviour in response to the trigger for it to continue to work. This only functions for so long afterwards when only conducted internally, and that's why so many peoples' programming begins to break down in their late 20s-early 30s. Sometimes sooner.
Things I'd change about RAMCOA spaces are a lot of things. The list goes on forever and I don't have the energy to type it all out, if I'm honest.

Do any other trauma survivors experience this???
TW: mentions of z0∅ph*lia, p3d0ph1ila and children being forcefully exposed to animal ab*se content
So for context as a younger kid (mostly when I was around the ages of 11-13) I was being groomed and abused by multiple p3d0file zoøs and was forced to watch videos of animals being abused in that kind of way along with other things I don't feel comfortable going into, most of them would do these disgusting things to dogs. As much as I love dogs with all my heart every time I look at one (especially a male dog) I get flashbacks to those videos that makes me want to genuinely violently throw up, I feel so disgusting and I'm terrified that because I saw those kind of things that I'm just as bad as the people who exposed me to them. My worst fear is becoming like the disgusting people who victimised me and so many poor animals that I even struggle to look at my service dog in training some days because I feel so violently disgusted I just can't handle it. I've never told anyone this ever and I just need to find someone who fucking understands or can atleast empathise with me because I'm terrified if I ever speak up about what happened to me as a child then people will see me as being just as disgusting as my abusers and I don't even have a word I can put to label or even understand my experience

It wouldn’t be historically accurate for my story to include BIPOC!
This is an argument often made about European-style fantasy media like Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, and Disney’s Frozen. Audiences, often white, assume that due to the majority-white setting, adding any visible number of BIPOC to the story would be unrealistic.
What these critics fail to realize is that BIPOC do in fact live, and have lived, in these settings, and records of BIPOC presence in places assumed to be majority-white have been buried, written out, or not taught due to white supremacist and/or colonial bias in the field of history. There are historical European settings that were far more diverse than is often portrayed. Consider:
The Moorish Empire exerted an extensive influence over life and culture in Southern Europe from Spain from 711 to 1492
The Ottomans were heavily involved in European affairs up until the treaty of Karlowitz in 1699, but still considered a part of Europe even through the 19th century
The sheer size of the Roman Empire ensured the continued movement of people from various backgrounds within the Mediterranean well until the end of the Byzantine Empire.
“Historical accuracy” should not be used as an excuse for media to be exclusively white in its casting. While there are places which are or were predominantly white, there will always be factors like global trade and immigration that bring multiculturalism to their doors.
And even if the presence of a certain demographic is unrealistic for a certain setting? Consider that we’ve accepted far worse inaccuracies in historical fiction in the name of artistic license. Consider that our understanding of human history is, and will always be, incomplete.

Woooooo psychiatry hot take time!!!
I'm just gonna say it, I'm pro (educated) self diagnosis atleast to a degree, although my reasons don't apply to all places in the world so keep that in mind.
I come from a country with a massive issue with a lack of medical professionals ESPECIALLY in my city, it's not uncommon to find hospitals that are dangerously understaffed, the only hospital in my city of almost one million people has one emergency unit with typically only around 9 people and the wait times for urgent care on the LEAST busy days are 9-10 hours if you're lucky. And for any kind of medical problem physical or mental even if you have money for something like specialised care you will still most likely have to go a two day drive just to find someone who isn't fully booked. People are dying because of this crisis even those on disability insurance and nothing is really being done about it.
I was born sick and have been going through this medical system my entire life, and another issue I have noticed due to that is incredibly wide spread because in my country especially, doctors are basically being taught they shouldn't believe afab people who are looking for help. It is to a point where 1 third of the afab people who have managed to finally get a booking in with a doctor, some travelling for litteral days just for some kind of help have been dismissed or straight up turned away due to sexism. The likely hood of being turned away increases significantly if you are POC.
People often forget that diagnosis isn't an end goal, it's not just a label for the sake of a label, it's a tool. A tool to help you navigate and approach recovery. And yes the ideal situation is to have a good doctor who can help you navigate that process but unfortunately that's not the case for all of us. Through educated self diagnosis (often through years of constant study) as a afab POC I managed to accurately and safely self medicate for pretty much all of my current diagnosed conditions on average 5 years before I managed to get a doctor to even CONSIDER checking. (The only acception to this is ADHD because I was like 7 when I got that diagnosis)
I'm sick of seeing people getting lectured for trying to help their selves in the time being because currently medical care isn't available to them. I hate the idea that you shouldn't even try digging into your mental health problems or even recognise they exist until you get the magical approval of a medical professional because speaking from experience those ideas HELD ME BACK in my recovery because I thought that researching my issues automatically made me a faker and when I did finally get a psychologist and they asked if I already had an idea of what the issue was I refused to give them any of my own extensive work I had done myself that could have sped up my diagnostic process tenfold. Even though the effects of self medicating have been incredibly beneficial to my recovery previously
Obviously you need to approach it safely and carefully, you definitely shouldn't try and speak for or over people who are clinically diagnosed etc but I feel like the idea that self diagnosis is inherently harmful 100% of the time is flawed and although yes you will undeniably get things wrong while trying to self medicate so do the actual medical professionals themselves! It's apart of the process and I do recognise how beneficial having a professional to help you is (and if you have the option to do that you definitely should) but I feel like it's rather damaging to brush off those who don't have access too those recourses and simply insist they just deal with it.
Honestly self diagnosis and self medicating saved my life by not only giving me something to hold on and work on while waiting to get medical care but it is the entire reason why I am clinically diagnosed today
Obviously this isn't a data filled analysis on the effects of self diagnosis this is just my opinion mainly rooted from my own life experience so don't take it as some factual information piece please. I might make a continuation to this if anyone has any questions about my thoughts on the topic.

As an aboriginal person I am so fucking tired. like the amount of racism that has being dug up after a certain vote I will not name is fucking insane. white no voters in this country stop speaking for us in regards to issues you don't fucking understand and are not effected by challenge (impossible) . 80% of us voted yes for a fucking reason, no the fact that you got one or two elders on your side doesn't prove shit. you're just taking advantage of people who have seen the very worst of the genocide of our people and have developed a mindset of "at least we are not being killed right now" as a result of that
don't even get me started on the rise of anti-aboriginal conspiracy theory

Sorry for talking about fake disorder cringe subreddits so much as of late, I just can't get over how fucking braindead it is to apply cringe culture to MENTAL ILLNESS of all things and by extension the medical field as a whole (not to mention cringe culture itself being born from ableism especially on the early days of the internet becoming more accessible)
Like no just because you think someone's fucking illness and or symptoms are “cringe“ does not erase decades of medical research and discoveries you fucking self centred anal bead.

do any other systems have like a group of parts you share more memories with and sometimes can hear the voices of and then a bunch of others that fluctuate throughout the years between being heard very loud and a little shared memory and not heard from at all and no memory of them fronting at all
I have no idea how many parts there actually are atp
