It means a lot to me that both superman AND batman are symbols of hope for their cities. I like how they show that there are different paths you can follow for the same goal. Batman strives to make the criminals feel the fear that they put onto victims and inspire hope among them that their city isn't owned by these "bad" people. Superman takes a different route and shows that he will always be there to save everyone, he will prevent all beings from being harmed. He inspires the hope that no matter how bad things get, there will always be someone who can save you. It can always get better.
