05/29/2020 Part 1

I am a NYC native and on the 29th of May in the year 2020, Brooklyn Ny started their protest in light of the George Floyd killing. I was at work but was aware of the event taking place thru twitter the night before. I made conscious effort to at least show up to see the outcome and what could possible happen. I was more in disbelief but intrigued that Brooklyn said we are standing tomorrow. I was proud, confused and just appreciating the fact I was alive and aware during this time. 

The following day, I went to work but kept reminding myself and fellow colleagues about this event that was suppose to happen. When work finished I made it clear where I was going and my reasoning.  3 of my coworkers decided to take the trip with me despite one of them telling her mother she wouldn't attend. Im not 2 sure if we smoked weed not the way their but some time thru out this process, marijuana was consumed and my antennas were up because of it. All I can recount is what I remember and how I remember it so please forgive me if it seems as if I'm jumping etc. 

I remember being across from the Barclay center on Flatbush Ave, next to Chik Fil-A. My colleagues and myself were focused on the Barclay center and the amount of people that were present was unprecedented. I was in shock but my guard was completely up and for more reasons than what's apparent. I know what I was committing to by putting myself there but now I had 3 others with me and felt somewhat responsible if something was to happen. All I could think about was the girl who deliberately wasn't supposed to be there and how her mother would flip if the worst took place. The other 2 people weren't in the same boat but I was still concerned. Either way the situation was hectic and a lot of noise painted the picture. Chaos, emotions and confusing ran rampant. I eventually seen some commission and caucasian man came running from he mob of people.
