Possibly a hot take:

I'm under the impression Kit didn't like Beatrice until post-Night of the Opera and they only became cool with each other because trauma bonding over both betraying Olaf.

I can't even explain this feeling. I just feel it in my bones.

Kit just straight up did not like her brother's girlfriend/her boyfriend's best friend for similar reasons Lemony didn't like his sister's boyfriend/his girlfriend's best friend.

Meanwhile, Olaf and Beatrice are just like (ya know, in the before times) "Dude, I think your partner hates me." Kit and Lemony are in staunch "You're not good enough for my sibling, but I'll begrudgingly tolerate you" territory but also "Sib, try to be nice to my partner, please." Meanwhile Jacques is trying to figure out why everyone choosing to be in hetero-hell is so hostile.

Then Night of the Opera happens and the girls are thrown in "Oh, I betrayed my boyfriend/best friend in the worst way possible" turmoil and end up bonding over their fuckup. (Though pretty sure Kit ended up being the one who told Olaf what actually happened, so she ended up throwing Beatrice under the bus eventually anyway)

Again, I have no reason to think this. It is just vibes.

this is a crazy thing to say…some of y’all need to remember that regulus being morally gray means there is a good bit of bad in him. the mark is a (poorly done but my point stands) parallel of a nazi symbol representing the desire to murder some of james’s closest friends. that man would not write “i love you” over it…

The most annoying thing in Avatar live action is that Aang is not stupid enough. I want him and Sokka to share that one last brain cell and afterwards lend it to Toph and Zuko… i want him to be the imbecile he truly is…

dont even get me started on how they reduced mai and ty lee as blind followers of azula that showered her with praise. or how they made zuko look like her example to follow when it was his banishment that made azula look down on him. or how they randomly tried to show ozai's care for zuko and a bit of a soft spot or care for his family. or how they made zuko fight him when the point of the scar scene was that he got it because he refused to fight his own father.

better yet, i could begin talking of how they took away katara's maternal attitude because it wasn't “fitting” for a girl her age and instead gave the role to sokka, who angrily tells her to grow up at one point, when it originally showcased the effects of the loss of her mother by trying to assume the position she left empty, while in the original show sokka did the same trying to fill hakoda's absence.

let's also talk about how they made hakoda look horrible when he criticised sokka's actions behind his back instead of supporting him with the idea of improvement to instead make ozai look like a better father. Or hey, wait, the scenes where everyone keeps blaming aang for having “abandoned” (even kyoshi) the world for some freaking reason???

suki head over heels for sokka right off the bat and stalking him around. june incessantly flirting with iroh. the whole cave of two lovers lore completely butchered. the omission of plot points to give priority to unnecessary scenes. the avatars being a bunch of a*holes that bully aang instead of guiding him. that random miniplot of roku with the small replica of the mother of faces????

I'm absolutely LIVING for the increase in luke and percy parallels, but something that's been rattling around my brain since I last listened to the lightning thief musical is that without luke, percy WOULD become him. I think that it's seeing the example of the cruelty and betrayal in luke that prevented percy from following the same path. he's horrified at how luke betrayed his friends, but luke believes he's doing it for the good of the demigods, just as percy would believe he's doing it for the good of his friends. percy is regularly disloyal to the gods by being loyal to his friends. he is saved from luke's fate simply because he came second and watched it unfold before him. I'm so sorry luke but you really are doomed by the narrative. you were always going to turn against the gods, even it it wasn't you. it had to happen.
