Linked to this post is a compiled list of resources available to LGBTQ+ youth, allies, educators, families, and others in the United States. It may be most helpful for people in Texas as that was the target audience when written but has resources available nationally. This sheet is separated into categories such as:
Community/Support - National
Youth and Crisis Hotlines
Advocacy and Legal
Health
Education
Academic and Informational
Religious and Spiritual
And more.
Please share this document with people that may need it. There's a lot of good support and information out there that many aren't aware of, so it would be great to spread it further!

Ahh I love James Somerton's channel. For me it's up there with Philosophy Tube and Contrapoints. If you want similar videos, Lindsay Ellis, Sideways, The Sin Squad, Rowan Ellis, Yhara zayd, and eliquorice are great! They all make videos on lgbt+ film theory either once in while or constantly. Check them out!
u all are always talking about video essays when are u going to show some respect for deep cuts: society and queer horror and it's predecessor monsters in the closet - a history of lgbt representation in horror cinema

I normally don't post about stuff like this but I really appreciated Unus Annus. I found the channel late, in September, but I enjoyed what I was able to see. I don't necessarily feel bad, I knew the clock was going to go down eventually. It just didn't feel real till now. I'm glad though, this channel reminded me that I can do whatever I want with the time I have left. I've taken advantage of opportunities that a few months ago, I probably would've avoided. Thank you Unus Annus, memento mori :)

Apple Pie Recipe
I made this pie recipe for my neighbors recently and they loved it! If you like making pie you should definitely try this :)
Pie Crust (9-inch single crust pie)
1¼ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ tablespoon sugar, optional
½ cup cold, unsalted butter, cut into cubes
1-4 tablespoons ice water
Directions
Add 1¼ cup flour, salt, and butter to a food processor. Pulse 2 to 3 times until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Scrape sides if necessary.
Add a tablespoon of ice water, one at a time, into the mixture. Stop adding water when the dough comes together.
Remove dough from the food processor and place in a mound on a clean surface. Work the dough just enough to form a ball. Form the ball into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate it for at least an hour.
Pie Filling
6-8 Granny Smith Apples
½ cup of sugar
1 tablespoon of flour
A squeeze of lemon juice
Allspice, to taste
Cinnamon, to taste
Oatmeal Crumble Topping
¾ cup old-fashioned oats
1 cup brown sugar
¾ cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup cold butter
Directions
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Take your pie crust out of the fridge until it is slightly softened.
Once your pie crust is ready to be rolled, lay it out on a clean counter. Sprinkle flour on your rolling pin and counter to prevent it from sticking. Roll the crust out until it is big enough for your pan. Place the crust into the pan and use your fingers to press out any pockets of air.
Fill your crust with apples, mounded slightly.
Mix brown sugar, oats, flour, and cinnamon in a bowl. Grate the cold butter into the bowl and use two forks or a pastry cutter to mash the butter into the oat mixture. Mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Spread over the apples to the edges of the baking dish.
Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Continue Baking for 35-45 minutes, until the apples are soft.

Things to Research Before Working with the Fae
Tumblr media
Research is the most important thing to do before heading into Faery work and witchcraft. You want to have a lot of in depth and versatile knowledge covering many areas of the topic so you’ll be able to understand and interact with the Fair Folk! If you don’t want to work with the Fair Folk you can use this list to help yourself understand them and take the proper measure if you ever stumble upon them. I know the list could go on forever but I’m compiling the topics I find build a good foundation of understanding. I have compiled this list to give those interested guidance and a push in the right direction, it is best you do your own research before asking other’s personal knowledge and opinions!!
The Basics
Terminology ( Fae, faery, fairy, changeling, seelie, unseelie, sidhe, etc)
The Origins of the Fae (Tuatha de Dannan, Aos Sí, Tylwyth Teg)
Faeries in Different Cultures: Celtic (Irish, Scottish, Gaulish, French), Norse, Influences from Greek and Roman culture.
Folklore & Myths!! ex. Oisin and Tír na nÓg , Fenian Cycle, Arthurian Legend.

Faery Landmarks (fairy tree, fairy ring, fairy hill)
Signs of the Fae
Sacred Trees and Plants (Hawthorn)

Simple Bread Recipe
This is a pretty simple bread recipe. You can really use it for anything. I made herbed bread with it (thus the inclusion of herbs) but the basic recipe is pretty versatile. This recipe can also be used to make dinner rolls or even pizza dough. With some additions you could use this to make cinnamon rolls. I hope y'all enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 cups water
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon yeast
4 cups of flour
About 1/2 teaspoon salt (you can definitely add more)
1 Tablespoon oregano (optional)
1 Tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
1 Tablespoon parsley (optional)
Some olive oil (optional)
1 egg for top (optional)
Steps:
Combine the water, yeast, and sugar then let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Add in two cups of flour to begin with and your herbs and salt. When well combined (it should look sorta chunky) add in the rest of your flour. Knead that dough for 5-7 minutes or until it's smooth and it bounces back when you gently press it. If it's a bit sticky feel free to add some more flour. If it's too dry, add some water. Put that dough back into your mixing bowl with a little bit of olive oil (just enough to cover it) then let it rise for a few hours.
Tumblr media
When the dough has doubled in size, "punch it" down and knead gently. You don't have to knead a lot, this is just so the bread doesn't get massive airholes. Let the dough rise in the container you are going to bake it in (or pan). I used a cake container.
Tumblr media
After another hour or so, you can preheat your oven to 375°F. Score your bread and eggwash it if you wish. Then you can put it into the preheated oven for about 35 minutes! You can tell the bread is done if it sounds hollow when you lightly knock on the bottom. You're all done now! You can eat it while it's hot or wait till it cools so it doesn't tear.

fucked up how cooking and baking from scratch is viewed as a luxury…..like baking a loaf of bread or whatever is seen as something that only people with money/time can do. I’m not sure why capitalism decided to sell us the idea that we can’t make our own damn food bc it’s a special expensive thing that’s exclusive to wealthy retirees but it’s stupid as hell and it makes me angry

Warming Autumn Soup
Tumblr media
My all time favorite season is just around the corner, so I figured with all these soup recipes floating around that I’d post my own! I make this all the time when it’s cold, and the leftovers are amazing too. Feel free to adjust the ingredients to your liking.
Ingredients:
2 cups of water
2 cups of chicken stock
2 cans of cream of chicken
¾ Cup of milk
3 Bay leaves
1 tablespoon of pepper
1 tablespoon salt
1 Tablespoon Rosemary
1 Tablespoon Basil
1 Tablespoon Oregano
1 Tablespoon Sage
You can substitute the above ingredients with dried herbs/seasonings or just use 2 tablespoons of italian seasoning
1 Cup of carrots cut into circles
2 cups of yellow or red (or both) potatoes
½ Cup of green beans
½ Cup of corn
4 cloves of diced garlic
½ cup of diced onions
2 large chicken breasts cut up into bite size pieces
Steps:
First cook the chicken pieces until they’re white both inside and out! You do this by boiling it, cooking it in a pan, baking, however you want! Feel free to season it a bit if you want to add more flavor to the meat, but it’s not required at this step!
While the chicken is cooking (I usually boil or Pan cook my chicken) go ahead and prepare your vegetables. Since this is a witchy stew, I like to ground myself and think happy thoughts while I’m doing this step. I always wish for whoever I’m making this soup for enjoys it and feels great afterwards. If you have those little bento veggie cutter shapes this would be a great time to use them!
Once this is done, get a large pot ready and put it on the stove at high heat. Go ahead and add in your water, herbs, chicken stock, veggies, seasonings, and cooked chicken, then cover with a lid. You could cook the chicken at this part, but I just like to cook if beforehand because you can never be too careful when cooking chicken. Beef is okay rare and stuff, but poultry HAS to be cooked all the way through or you could easily get sick. Stir occasionally.
Now you can just sit here and chill, maybe say a chant if you’d like while you wait for the veggies to cook. This should take about 20-25 minutes for them all to be cooked through. Honestly this is my favorite part because the house just smells amazing while it’s all cooking.
Once it’s done turn the heat down to low-medium and wait for it to stop boiling before you add in your cream of chicken and milk. I do this part last because any other time I add it these two ingredients in it always turns out with the milk curdling or getting weird.
I add in the cream of chicken to give it a little extra thickness. 1 can for semi-thickness and 2 for super good thickness. Add in however much you like. Now just sit there and put it on low completely with the lid on, stirring occasionally, until it’s all mixed in and nice and thick.
And tada! It’s done and now you have some delicious soup for the chilly days and nights. when Autumn rolls around this year I’m gonna try and make some homemade bread to go with it. If I do I’ll post or link the recipe on this blog.
I hope you enjoyed this recipe.
(Updated and changed a few things cuz it’s been up for about 2 years now)

Best kitchen tip my Grandma ever taught me
I keep veggie peelings, cuttings, herb clippings and all other veggie compost in a freezer bag in your freezer for up to a month. At the end of every month I dump this bag into my crockpot, add 6-8 cups of water and cook on low for 6 hours. I drain out the veggies and herbs, and viola! You have like 8 cups of veggie broth.
I save things from veggies like: celery, garlic, onion, carrots, kale, squash, parsnips, peppers, etc. Basically any vegetable that would go into a soup, I save.
I also save bits of herbs that don’t make it into other recipes, or veggies about to go bad I have no other intention for. It’s an amazing way to cut back on costs and food waste. This stock can make enough soup to feed a whole family, or you can freeze it if you are only feeding yourself and thaw as needed.
You can customize with herbs and spices now, or when you go to make your soups. I like to at least toss in garlic, onions, a bay leaf, pepper and rosemary to the broth itself.
I havent bought soup broth in years, and I can make sure my broth is salt free or at least low salt!
It’s such a simple thing to do, and its noticable in your food budget.

I can't find your bread recipe :( with the tag bread queen there are only three posts and none of them is your wonderful recipe where it how can I find it? Ly
Oh! I had to switch accounts at some point last year, that’d probably do it. Hold on I got you! The reblog it’s posted on is here, and since it’s about time I copied it into its own post anyway… With a few minor edits:
Two adulting (kitchen-related) tips from me!
1. Buy a roll of parchment paper from the cooking shit aisle. A big roll will last you for-fucking-ever. Pretty much any time you’re using a baking pan you can line it with that stuff and save yourself A: food sticking to the pan and B: it’s a quick rinse and it’s clean.
2. Bread can get fucking expensive, so make your own. A bigass bag of flour and a bag of active dry yeast (store it in the friiiiidge!!!) works out a FUCK of a lot cheaper than buying bread at the store, and you can do so much more with it. Bread, pizza, rolls, cinnibuns, homemade pizza pockets. It seems intimidating but it’s stupid easy.
Seriously. It’s stupid simple to make, and most of the “3 hours” to make it is sitting around surfing the internet or doing whatever the fuck you want while the dough rises. If you have an afternoon free once a week to sit and play video games or surf the net, you have the time to make your own bread on the cheap. Here’s my simple-as-fuck recipe:
2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (You can buy a bag of this stuff CHEAP in bulk stores, the little single-serve packets are hella stupid priced)1 cup warm water (think a hot bath)1 ½ teaspoons sugar2 tablespoons oil (any kind works for the most part)2 ¼ cups flour1 teaspoon salt
1. Stir the yeast, water, sugar, and oil up in a bowl. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. It will foam up VERY high, this is the yeast getting happy! If it doesn’t get all foamy, the water may have been too hot or not hot enough. Remember, Yeast is alive! Treat it like a nice girlfriend!
2. Mix your flour, salt, and the yeast concoction up in a bowl.
3. Knead that shit for about 5 minutes. It will start sticky as heck, but will come together into a nice dough. If it’s still super sticky, toss in a bit more flour. The dough should feel silky to touch if you’ve done it long enough. Here’s how to knead it:
Tumblr media
4. Put your dough in a covered, lightly oiled bowl and leave it someplace warmish for an hour. At that point it will have roughly doubled in size, give it a gentle punch to release the gasses that have built up inside. Cover it again and let it sit for a bit longer.
Boom. You have bread dough. Here are some baking times and uses for ya:
Optional egg-wash: Just crack an egg into a bowl, add a pinch of salt or some water if you’re game, and mix the bejeebus out of it with a fork. Brush (or if you’re like me, goop it on with said fork) that shit thinly on bread before baking for a nice crust.
Pizza: Stretch it on a pan, stab the fucker all over with a fork, add toppings, bake 425*F 15-20 minutes. Roughly the same process for pizza pockets, just with more filling and pinching it shut before baking.
Bread Sticks: Make snake-shapes, let rest on pan 10-ish minutes, bake 400*F 10-20 minutes.
Dinner rolls/Pullaparts: Make ball-sized (yes those balls) balls. Place on greased pan, let rest 10-20 minutes to rise. Egg-wash and bake 375*F 25 minutes.
Bread: Lightly score (cut) the top, let sit for 20-ish minutes on/in whatever you’re using to bake it, egg-wash, bake at 375*F for 20-ish minutes. It’s done when it sounds hollow if you knock on the bottom. If it sounds solid, it’s still doughy.
You bet your ass you can deep-fry this shit for cheapie yeast doughnuts. Roll that shit in sugar or dip it in whatever, it’s fucking tasty.
Bagels: YES. YOU. CAN. Form bagel-shapes out of the dough and boil them in salty water for about 2 minutes. Egg-wash them and bake them at 400*F for 10 minutes.
Cinnamon Rolls: Roll that shit out into a rectangle. Brush it with a mix of butter, cinnamon, sugar, and a pinch of salt (no exact amounts here, do it to your taste). Roll it up into a log, and cut it into discs. Let them sit 20 minutes in a pan and then bake at 375*F 15-17 minutes. I can personally vouch for these coming out amazing! If you bake them long enough, the filling will caramelize on the bottom of the pan into pseudo-crunchy-sweet-buttery candy, and if you’re using parchment paper it’ll pop right off for indulgent consumption.
You can add whatever you want to the dough for some variety, just if it’s dried spices remember you really only need 1-ish tablespoons. I personally like making bread with about 1 tablespoon of dill in the dough. Roll it out flat, sprinkle it with cheddar, roll it into a log, squeeze the ends shut, and bake it like a regular loaf of bread. Cheesy dill bread OMNOMNOM.
That got a bit long. But yeah. Bread’s expensive, yo. Save your wallet.
(Also it’s ridiculous amounts of therapeutic to bake, for me anyway.)

An important note about fae magick
Some fae love humans and would love to help you with witchcraft! But it’s important to know, they’re not the “standard” fae. Most fae are either disinterested in or actively opposed to helping humans.
If you ask for (or worse, try to pressure) help from fae, be prepared to be fucked with. They’re chaotic and likely irritated by the request. Make sure you have offerings and be ready for a lot of trial and error, unless you happen to know very well who you might be “summoning.”
This is just a basic warning! If you need any more help on fae magick, I know quite a bit and I’d love to help however I can (and anything I don’t know, I can ask my mother, who’s been a fae witch for around 40 years)!
Be safe, witches. Fae can be real tricky!

Energy Work: Introduction to Fields Exercise
Tumblr media
I want to start sharing more of my energy practice, here, and felt the best way to start doing that was to post an “introductory primer”. This meditation is designed to familiarize you with energy and its tactile properties. You can get some use out of this exercise regardless of your experience level (I still practice it, today), and it’s a great entry point for someone who’s never even dabbled before. All you’ll need to enjoy it is a comfortable, quiet place where you’re unlikely to be disturbed for roughly 30 minutes.
Tip: Don’t try to follow along with this text as you perform the exercise. Instead, read it in its entirety before you begin. This way, you can avoid the distraction of scrolling or flipping pages during your meditation. That will kill your focus dead.
Step 1:
To begin, sit or stand in a comfortable position. Shake yourself out, paying particular attention to your shoulders and wrists. Do this until you feel loose and relaxed. Now, take a deep breath in, filling your lungs to the largest capacity possible. Hold the breath for a count to three, then exhale slowly, through your mouth. Concentrate on your breathing for as long as necessary to make it deep, slow and even. As you inhale, focus on the weight in the middle of your chest. Feel all the tension leave your body as you exhale. Draw your focus inwards, and feel your pulse as it travels through your body. Be still, quiet, and whole. Remain here until you are grounded and focused.
Step 2:
When you feel relaxed and grounded, raise your arms so that your elbows are up and away from your body. With your hands open, turn them so that your palms are facing each other in front of you. The palms of your hands should be roughly one foot apart, and one foot away from the core of your body.Feel your focus slowly travel from your chest, to your shoulders, and down through your arms. Sweep it down past your elbows and wrists until you are focusing on the palms of your hands. You may notice a tingling sensation, or a hyper awareness, in your fingers. Push this feeling out until you are focused on the space between your palms.  The keyword is ‘push’. Feel a pressure building up between your hands; focus until that pressure is a dense weight.
Step 3:
Tumblr media
With your attention still on the space between your palms, physically push them together. You should feel a slight resistance, or “bounce”. Bring your hands together and back apart rhythmically, getting a feel for that resistance. Play with the energy you have gathered there, growing it, condensing it, passing it back and forth between your hands. Get a feel for its properties. This is “you” energy. Get to know it. Take as long as you need.
Step 4:
When you are finished, draw your hands back towards the trunk of your body. Press the tension you have built up against your chest and “breathe” it back in until nothing is left externally.
Repeat the earlier breathing exercise — inhale deeply, hold for three seconds, and slowly exhale through your mouth. Focus on your breathing until it is deep and regular. Bring your focus from your hands, back to your chest. Feel the weight there.
Slowly, begin rolling your shoulders. Roll your head on your neck, and shake out your arms, dispersing any tension. Shake your wrists and hands until they are loose and free. Feel yourself slowly wake from the deep relaxation you enjoyed earlier.
When you’re finished, engage in some mundane grounding activity, such as washing up, eating, or drinking. You might enjoy journaling your experiences so that you can reference them later on.
