jason eating anything is BORING, how about jason essentially having to choke down food on missions that he needs for the calories and nutrients, but it feels too much like when he was kid, desperate for anything to sate the hunger. it makes his stomach roll, and his tongue feels to heavy for his mouth, but he needs it -- so he eats it.
and when he gets home, he wastes no time finding his way to the high end grocery store and carefully picking out exactly what is going to go into his house, his fridge, into his mouth, and settle pleasantly in his stomach. the shopping takes a majority of his morning, bleeding into the afternoon, but this is relaxing, the meticulous nature of it is comforting.
and when he gets home, he spends the rest of the day cooking, it's a several course meal for one and jason focuses on nothing but the food in front of him. how appealing it looks plated so pretty, colors and scents mixing in a way that he never thought he would comfortably have -- and all because of him.
his money.
his cooking.
his skills.
his own two hands.
and no one can take it away from him.

#I’ve never verbalized it before to anybody I think#but I really do wish Jason’s body type was drawn more like dicks than Bruce’s#not just because they’re supposed to look identical + make Jason look his actual age (19-22)#but also because I dislike how the style to draw him so beefy makes him perceived as a brute fist fighter. especially with the recent outfit#(the showcasing of his arms as main appeal and taking away all his body armor. something something along the lines of a brute in a tank top#Jason is also acrobatic and flippy and agile. and he’s scrappy and very tactical#he’s a pragmatic person and a tactical fighter. he also has lots of tools and gadgets#I wonder if people correlate pragmatic fighter as brute fighter. just cause he will kill you doesn’t mean he’s not calculated about it#Jason shouldn’t be depicted with a melee weapon as his main choice it should be a sniper rifle#or a very cool looking handgun that turns into a sniper rifle like Arkham knights. I think it should be his signature weapon actually#with tons of guns and bombs on him#and the ace up his sleeve is hidden knives and blades and perhaps poison#god I miss his Kris dagger. his little wiggly knife. it was so fun#like should be be depicted as a bad melee fighter or subpar? I want to see jason and cass forced to work together in a long and messy run. Jason isn’t killing people but not because he believes it’s wrong, he’s bending his principles because the personal costs were too high. Cass will not, cannot bend, and damn the costs. Her reasons for it are laughably unconvincing to him. She has worked so so hard to have a life for herself. Jason is pretty clearly suicidal. The man who adopted each of them would be unrecognisable to the other. She’s held up as the golden standard, he’s the grim cautionary tale. She’s the superior combatant. He’s a jack of all trades. Neither one has any clue how to be normal.
They should despise each other and be forced to solve mysteries together.

There is a tiny sliver, deep down inside of batman, that is proud of the red hood. He’s ashamed of it, everything in him revolts against it, but it remains.
His son played the most feared crime lord in Gotham like a fiddle. In one night he earned the fear batman spent years cultivating. He put his boot on Gotham’s throat and had just the right leverage to keep it there.
Atrocity. Murder. Lives ruined, principles discarded, everything he stood for thrown back in his face. An abomination in his son’s skin. It is sickening to him.
But bruce’s clever little boy always knew the importance of efficacy. And he honed himself into terrifying competence.
Bruce forged himself around his principles because his ambitions needed them. Desperately. He wouldn’t settle for anything less than perfect control. Of everything. Every blow must land where it is needed and nowhere else, every scrap of knowledge must be correct, every judgement call exact. He can’t be proud. He can only be right.
If you’re going to do something, put your everything in it. Give nothing less than your all and accept nothing less than absolute perfection.
Bruce’s son is a bad man. And he’s better at it than anyone else.
Bruce looks at his son with grief and horror. And pride.
