being anti ai is making me feel like in going insane. "you asked for thoughts about your characters backstory and i put it into chat gpt for ideas". studies have proven its making people dumber. "i asked ai to generate this meal plan". its causing water shortages where its data centers are built. "ill generate some pictures for the dnd campaign". its spreading misinformation. "meta, generate an image of this guy doing something stupid". its trained off stolen images, writing, video, audio. "i was talking with my snapchat ai-" theres no way to verify what its doing with the information it collects. "youtube is impletmenting ai based age verification". my work has an entire graphics media department and has still put ai generated motivational posters up everywhere. ai playlists. ai facial verification. google ai microsoft ai meta ai snapchat ai. everyone treats it as a novelty. every treats it as a mandatory part of life. am i the only one who sees it? am i paranoid? am i going insane? jesus fucking christ. if i have to hear one more "well at least-" "but it does-" "but you can-" im about to lose it. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to avoid the evil machine. have you no principles? no goddamn spine? am i the weird one here?

Until he let me meet this Baz.

The one in heart-print boxers and a messy bun, knocked out on our pink couch with his head in my lap. His shirt’s half-unbuttoned and wrinkled from the day, and his breathing is soft and steady. This is the Baz who lets me run my fingers through his hair until he melts under my touch.

Who only ever really sleeps like this, like he’s safe, when I’m the one holding him.

And I think, I get to see him like this.

there’s an alternate universe i sometimes think about where we do not use time zones and instead use light zones where basically everyone in the world has the exact same clock face. like it’s 5:00 in california, it’s 5:00 in new york, it’s 5:00 in london, it’s 5:00 in india. everywhere is in the same number. and instead we distinguish what light it is for us. “oh yeah it’s mid dusk over here” “no way dude it’s morning light over here!” “crazy dude!! light zones are so weird 😭😭😭”

reasons why i can’t sleep:

1. worried that i’m going to shrivel up and my lungs will collapse and there won’t be enough water in the air and i’m going to get very ill because there’s not enough water in the air. all because i turn on my big dehumidifier while i’m sleeping so it sucks the moisture out of the air (so i don’t wake up in 80% humidity, sweating, still unable to sleep lol) but the moisture gone will kill me

2. bugs. i feel like there’s spiders and roaches and beetles crawling under my bed and in the crevices of my sheets and behind my dresser and in my water cup and in my sink and if i go to bed, it will crawl up my nose or in my ear.

things i do to help these anxieties:

- turn on a diffuser so there’s like 2% more moisture in the room.

-put peppermint oil in the diffuser so spiders run away from the smell

conclusion:

-this doesn’t help. there’s probably at least two more beetles in this room, and spiders under my bed.

-god should kill me and end my suffering

just thinking about how I only came out to my family like two months ago and everything‘s gone horribly and the reaction was really really bad but it’s gotten better recently because we’ve just refused to discuss it and so now we coexist happily but yesterday my mom was looking at the pins on my purse and she stared longer at the rainbow pin and the one that said dyke and just moved on and didn’t say anything else. And I just stood there and watched her. she didn’t say anything about it.
