today marks day 111 of the genocide in gaza.

and i need you all to keep in mind just how dire the situation in gaza is right now. and to keep talking about it. now is not the time to turn away.

today i want to talk about khalil again. yesterday, khalil posted about how his aunt passed away and they went to the graveyard to bury her, only to find thousands of tents in the cemetery. the people living as refugees in rafah have been so jam packed that they’ve started sheltering at the cemetery.

in a heartbreaking sentence, khalil says “they are living in the cemetery, waiting for their time to be buried”. can you imagine the situation one has to be in to say something like that?

not only do the gazans not have a safe place to live, they are also starving and suffering from diseases and lack of medication. in fact, that’s the cause of khalil’s aunt’s death—bad food and no medicine.

the people of gaza barely have food to eat. the children have to clean dirt and insects off animal feed before milling it to make food. medicine isn’t coming into the gaza strip. there are pharmacies all around but none can help because they do not have the means to. why?

because israel consistently denies shipments of vital aid (OCHA full report). in fact, according to the UN, israel recently added insulin pens for children to the list of prohibited items that are not allowed into gaza. this list also includes other medicines for chronic illnesses [here is the full press conference for anyone who’s interested].

this claim is also backed by the report journalist motaz azaiza was making as he was evacuating gaza of a plethora of aid trucks waiting at the border to enter gaza. and for the little bit of aid that is available to gazans? yesterday the israeli military opened fire at starving citizens who were queueing to get aid in northern gaza.

there are too many heartbreaking stories coming out of gaza; there is at least one per person, in a population of 2.2M people. i urge you to not turn away from hearing their stories and facing the reality of the crimes being committed against them by israeli occupation forces.

whatever anyone else might say, whatever the verdict of tomorrow’s hearing may be… i want you to remember that what’s happening in gaza is nothing short of a genocide—a collective total of 33,360 deaths (incl people missing under rubble), and 64,150 injured. don’t let them just be numbers. these are people.

people who are not just being killed in cold blood, but are also being starved. they are being tortured physically and psychologically. they are being subjected to illnesses with no treatment given. they are being subjected to eating things like grass, immature food, expired food. read the euro med monitor report for the full picture of the destruction happening in gaza at the hands of the israeli occupation forces.

this is a genocide. this is one of, if not the deadliest of war crimes we’ve seen in the 21st century.

i am so heartbroken i barely have the energy to type today. please call for an end to all of this, for a permanent ceasefire. and subsequently an end to the israeli occupation.

we cannot leave the palestinians to fend for themselves and continue being oppressed directly or indirectly by their oppressors and colonisers. this occupation must end. palestine must be freed in its entirety.

SERIAL KILLER CHUUYA X STALKER DAZAI AU

Alright so this AU’s been going around in my head for a while and I finally decided to write it. It’s a little twisted and dark but it’s short and light as it doesn’t go too into depth and focuses more on surface level stuff. It’s a modern/no ability AU.

Dazai himself should come as a warning in this fic cuz boy is he whipped and needs help with how crazily obsessed he is with stalking Chuuya’s killing sprees (Bro’s a masochist despite how much canonically he says he hates pain).

The way I based this was Chuuya being a serial killer and the way he kills his victims enamours Dazai in a way that corruption enamours Dazai canonically except in this AU Dazai isn’t right in the head even with a less traumatic and probably average life so he becomes obsessed with Chuuya as an individual that he becomes freakishly stalk-ish.

Dazai probably just stumbled across Chuuya killing someone by complete accident and managed to be discreet enough not to get caught and just continue stalking from that day on and Chuuya probably remained unsuspecting until much later when he finally tried to track down and confront the stalker, thinking that Dazai’s some police or FBI agent who’s going to turn him in or something.

wanna know the most fucked up fact about Corruption?

using it never actually killed the target.

Lovecraft was blasted to pieces but showed up fine a while later.

The Dead Apple dragon was disintegrated but Shibusawa got up a few minutes after to fight Atsushi and the gang.

In the DA prologue, despite using Corruption, Shibusawa was not really killed, since he shows up later, now was he?

Guivre in SB was also vanquished, and Verlaine should have died, but Rimbaud came in last second and saved him anyway.

Even when Rimbaud accidentally released Arahabaki in Fifteen, it wasn't enough to kill him or Verlaine, and it didn't even destroy the lab enough for it to never come up again. And when Verlaine forced its activation in SB, there simply was no enemy to defeat.

Sure it most definitely killed people (grunts, scientists and bystanders for example) and it does get the job done for defeating the enemy, but it never actually kills the threat it was primarily used for. And that's messed up in ways I can't quite put into words.

What do you think of Oda and his relationship with Dazai?

*cracks fingers* oh I've been waiting for this one. Buckle up, I have a lot to say.

So here's the thing. Oda is the one character whose fandom's perception of him annoys me. Greatly. A lot can be said about BSD mischaracterizations but I usually don't care in the slightest if certain interpretations of a character are different than how I understand them (or how I think canon material portrays them).

I care with Oda. Like. So much.

I care, simply because I think his and Dazai's dynamic is one of the most brilliant ones in BSD (especially since Oda is the cornerstone of Dazai's growth) and I can almost never find fanwork that caters to my perception of them. Because they are so wildly taken out of context

(also not a potential romantic pairing, and we know how the world takes a fat shit on platonic relationships in media as a whole. but I digress.)

Where shit hits the fan is usually that people forget Oda is barely 23 when he dies. I know that to many people this seems like a lot, (since the majority of BSD fans are still teens. not saying it's a bad thing not at all. just statistically speaking.) but it is not. 23 is nothing. At 23 your frontal lobe has barely wrapped up construction work. He is not a father figure to Dazai by any means, is what I'm saying. You can't explain every human relationship by relating it to a nuclear family dynamic.

Oda has no idea how to deal with Dazai because his Port Mafia status-- that of a terrifying executive-- is in complete dissonance with the hyperactive and performative child that he sees in front of him. He balances an extremely fine line between treating Dazai like an equal adult, and also thinking of him as a deviant child that clings to his side.

Almost like a self-fulfilled prophesy, this is exactly what makes Dazai cling to him in the first place. (along with how Oda is someone who doesn't kill, and that intrigues Dazai beyond belief). The fact that Oda treats him like an adult and doesn't fuss over him, but simultaneously recognizes he is a child. It's a very Angsty Teenager (TM) thing to find comfort in. Being treated like an adult whenever you want but also still be taken care of, silently, and not thrown in the deep. Oftentimes, adulting means aloneness, and if there's anything to take away from BSD is that Dazai hates being alone. He clings to people who fascinate him, adopts them off the streets, calls them partners and just never leaves their side. He is someone who struggles to find meaning or joy in anything, but other people. Even killing himself, he doesn't want to do alone.

People often take Oda's light novel narrations of Dazai at face value, forgetting that it's not Asagiri describing his own character, but him writing another character's voice. Oda's thoughts of Dazai are not a carbon copy of who Dazai is. They are mixed with Oda's own horrific perception of the world and human suffering. He looks at Dazai and he sees another victim of this world's cruelty, and a brilliant, but wasted mind. I think Nawy ( @originalaccountname ) put it best in a recent post of theirs, where they explained how Oda doesn't call out Dazai's behavior because he doesn't think he has the right to. He has this massive inferiority issue and an overall "Who? Me? Who am I to say anything? I'm nothing" attitude.

So he only calls Dazai out when he is actively dying, knowing he has no other chance. He tells Dazai to do good, not knowing how this forever alter Dazai's perception of his own morality and in more crude terms-- fuck him up. So much.

Dazai has been lamenting about how everything he touches and cares about withers away and dies, so it's better to not care about anything at all. Then Oda accidentally proves him right. He withers away and dies. But not before telling Dazai to be on the side of good. This wish is the only thing of Oda's that Dazai has, and so he internalizes it and fulfills it, as a way to honor his memory and keep a part of him alive.

From Dazai's point of view, Oda dies a martyr, a fundamentally "good" person, despite how Dazai canonically recognizes how multifaceted people can be. Not Oda though, that hits a bit too close to home. To call someone who guided you to the light while he bled out on your lap anything but good feels...wrong. Right? The more we move away from the time of Oda's death, the more we see Dazai strip this man of any "bad" or human quality he may have had, as a result of his own grieving process. He chooses to remember Oda as pure light because it makes fulfilling his promise easier.

So yeah. If more people perceived them this way and made work on this basis, I'd be the happiest person on earth.

I can't stop thinking about the news out of Palestine. Israel is sieging al Shifa hospital. Videos of people's limbs being severed off are haunting (graphic video tw). The hospital has ran out of fuel and 39 babies in incubators are fending for their lives by themselves, because Israel has stationed snipers around the hospital and is shooting all medical crew that walks into their sight.

First, the narrative was Israel would never bomb hospitals. Now, the hospitals are Hamas bases. Then, we respect journalists. Now, we have a fucking kill list of journalists because they are Hamas collaborators. First, we are not letting fuel in until the hostages are released. Now, we are not accepting the hostages back because that would stop our ground invasion and let Hamas win. And I could go on about every single lie they're making up. If you look up "Hamas rape" on google, the first link leads to Times of Israel saying Israel has found no forensic evidence of sexual violence, and only one eyewitness testimony out of 3.5k people attending the rave. If you Google "Hamas beheaded babies" the top links say they have no evidence for the claim besides word of mouth from extremist soldiers. Israeli extremists think about the ugliest goriest scene they can make out in their sick heads, tell that to a international journalist and they run away with it like it's gospel.

And children are being killed in the name of these lies. Thousands are being displaced in images that remind me of the pictures of Tantura 75 years ago, with their hands up so the tanks don't shoot them. Amputees are leaving the hospitals in wheelchairs hours after their surgeries because they are being shot at. Elders who survived the Nakba on 48 are having to walk towards Southern Gaza on foot (imagine walking from one end of your city to the other on foot), displaced again. People are cheering for the haunting images of white phosphorus bombs being dropped over Gaza. Gazan workers who were arrested in the West Bank are being thrust back into the bombings wearing numbered labels.

This is not normal. We are seeing the early stages of the settler colonial genocide of an indigenous population. Native leaders who have visited Gaza say its refugee camps look eerily like reservations. We can stop this. For the first time we are able to see wide scale accounts from the hands of the people suffering the genocide, and Israel is so scared of it they have cut all communications in Gaza.

This is our litmus test. I think we have never seen more clearly, with Palestine, Armenia, Congo and Sudan how colonialism has made our world a rotten place to live in.

The South African apartheid collapsed due to boycotts. We have to do everything in our power to stop Israel's hegemony. Even talking to a group of friends about Palestine changes the status quo. There's no world where we can live peacefully if Israel accomplishes their goals.

Keep yourself updated and share Palestinian voices. Muna El-Kurd said every tweet is like a treasure to them, because their voices are repressed on social media and even on this very app. Make it your action item to share something about the Palestinian plight everyday. Here are some resources:

You can participate in boycotts wherever you are in the world, through BDS guidelines. Don't be overwhelmed by gigantic boycott lists. BDS explicitly targets only a few brands which have bigger impact. You can stop consuming from as many brands as you want, though, and by all means feel free to give a 1 star review to McDonalds, Papa John, Pizza Hut, Burger King and Starbucks. Right now, they are focusing on boycotting the following:

Carrefour, HP, Puma, Sabra, Sodastream, Ahava cosmetics, Israeli fruits and vegetables

Push for a cultural boycott - pressure your favorite artist to speak out on Palestine and cancel any upcoming performances on occupied territory (Lorde cancelled her gig in Israel because of this. It works.)

If you can, participate in direct action or donate.

Palestine Action works to shut down Israeli weapons factories in the UK and USA, and have successfully shut down one of their firms in London.Some of the activists are going on trial and are calling for mobilizing on court.

Palestinian Youth Movement is organizing direct actions to stop the shipping of wars to Israel. Follow them.

Educate yourself. Read into Palestinian history and the occupation. You can't common sense people out of decades of propaganda. If your arguments crumble when a zionist brings up the "disengagement of Gaza", you have to learn more.

Read Decolonize Palestine. They have 15 minute reads that concisely explain the occupation (and its colonial roots) and debunk popular myths, including pinkwashing.

Read on Palestine. Here's an amazing masterpost.

Verso Book Club is giving out free books on Palestine (I personally downloaded Ten Myths about Israel by Ilan Pappe. If you still believe in the two states solution, this book by an Israeli professor debunks it).

Call your representatives. The Labour Party in the UK had an emergency meeting after several councilors threatened to resign if they didn't condemn Israeli war crimes. Calling to show your complaints works, even more if you live in a country that funds genocide.

What if HxH was set in a highschool AU? But not just any highschool… Set in Monster High! I grew up with this show as one of my childhood favourites and it’s gives me immense nostalgia (I still listen to the theme song because it’s still so catchy).

Who would be who in this AU? Or rather which monsters would the Hunter x Hunter characters take on?

Killua would for sure be a Vampire but what about Gon? Maybe a werewolf? Because he can act like such a cute innocent puppy but can be intimidating and frightfully strong and aggressive when necessary *cough* Chimera Ant Arc *cough*
