Dazai sighs to himself as he hears the doorbell ring. He lays there for a while, hoping for it to quiet down, but as it doesn't he pulls himself up with his usual overdramatic, playfully grumpy face. It's been some time since his working hours started, but it's not rare for him not to appear at the agency because of various mysterious coincidences, so he didn't think much of it. He knows Kunikida sometimes forces him up to make sure he's sane and alive, but he didn't expect it to be so soon.

However, the act melts into a slight smile as he sees you're the one at the door. And while he's shit talking with you with the usual tease of his, inside he's cussing himself, trying to figure out how to make sure you won't get inside. His apartment is as messy as usual, with some clothes and empty alcohol bottles rolling around, some of them still with earlier mentioned substance, some now filled with piss, and he's pretty sure there's some silverfishes running around too. The room overall doesn't have the best smell nor aesthetics — that's definitely not how he wants his lover to see it for the first time. Not to mention Dazai is also wearing the same clothes as he did tomorrow. He pushes you some 'have you never heard of a washing machine?' jokes, but he knows you're not buying it.

His thoughts, however, quiet down as you take his hands into yours and start yapping about how he shouldn't skip work and other stuff he doesn't care about. He doesn't know it, but you're only putting the overdramatic act to get him to be more lively and you're not actually annoyed. For some reason, that's exactly how he likes all of his partners; so openly caring in this weird aggressive like way. Maybe because he cannot show that himself. Either way, he melts as you press a kiss to his head, and looks at you with those big dog like eyes, smiling at you slyly as you call him by his name. You never really got why, but you're the only one who does that, and he seems to enjoy the way his name slides off your tongue. He gives you the same look a golden retriever gives when they want something, as he promises to change into something more clean. He surprisingly actually does so before dragging you out. He was trying to make sure you don't take a peek or two into his apartment, which you did when he wasn't looking. It's not like you had to, you knew what to expect, but since he seems to be in a better mood you make a mental note to take care of that later and tag along with him through Yokohama's streets for now instead. He says something about a nice ice cream spot before he turns into the opposite direction than the agency, expecting you to follow.

Definitely the "excuse me, they asked for no pickles" type of guy. In all seriousness though, Chuuya really doesn't mind being the one to do the talking in public for you two. He will always make sure he's saying what you want him to though.

I also believe he'd be pretty glad you're unmasking around him, since not only he wishes for you to be as comfortable as possible but also takes it as you trust him and feels pretty proud of the fact that you do.

If you have any hyperfixations or special interests, I doubt he'd mind listening to them either, he just wants to hear your voice. Pretty good at listening and will probably remember most of the stuff you tell him too, unless he's tired from work and shit. A huge upside is that he always knows what to get you for special occasions because of that.

checks up on you from time to time if you're doing something he knows get you overwhelmed easily and makes sure you're doing alright, or to get you space if you're not. But again, he's a pretty overprotective man, so it has more to the fact that he just cares a lot and shows it usually through actions.

The only downside I could see is that he might get mildly annoyed at times at some of your behaviours, but with his short temper it's pretty expected from time to time, so it's nothing out of the ordinary.

Honestly, Chuuya doesn't really care much about that. Not in a cold nor cliché way, more so it just doesn't bother nor cross his mind often. So pretty standard and supportive.

Chuuya has always been a rather blunt man. Despite his caring nature, he has that it's just a task that needs to be done mindset. And while some self care aspects tire him too, he simply forces himself through, knowing he has to fulfil them. That being said, that's exactly how he approaches you at first; confronting and demanding. However, once it leads to a rather huge argument between you two, he realises this won't work for you as well as it does for him. He understands that everyone functions differently, he truly does, but your inability to focus can drive him nuts at times.

A bit hopeless and frustrated, but he accepts it. Unsure about what to do next, he decides to study the problem at its core and asks you more about why you struggle with that. He's not very pushy; it's not like he requires specifics. He simply wishes to know what he's working with.

What he does next honestly depends on your answer. If the reason why you don't do such things is just cause you forget, he simply reminds you to do so. He's still worried, and far from being able to relate to your issues, but he's glad it's simply a memory fog.

He leaves you sticky notes with reminders and silly sketches, occasionally wakes you up to an already made breakfast and cuddles you up to sleep whenever he can. Chuuya truly doesn't mind falling asleep with you, he's just glad he's finally able to rest with you in his arms. Nakahara's job at the port, mostly done when no light can be seen on dark nights, sends him away for quite a long time, so any quality time together is greatly appreciated. He'll tap your shoulder while you're working, reminding you to grab a snack, too.

However, if the problem is much deeper, more complex than just forgetfulness, that's when Chuuya becomes truly worried. He won't let it show much through. At least not through his body language nor words. However, it's pretty visible with his actions. Offering to listen more to your struggles, find a specialist which could help – or simply making you two your favourite drink before bed so you can relax together.

Whatever the case might be, he'll be there to make sure everything's going well. And while his short temper might get in the way sometimes, he's more than pleased to look after you.

I feel like Osamus main trait as a yandere would be that he allows you to keep the illusion of freedom you created for yourself, even if you truly know it's not real.

He'd make sure to keep you close, dragging you into all of his mess, making you responsible for truly awful things. He tries to tell himself that he has some deep purpose to his actions, but the truth is, it's all his selfishness wishing to keep you by his side. So, at the end of the day, he believes that the least he can do is let you pretend like you still can go back. Although you're way too deep into the mess he made to return.

His love is deep, possessive and passionate. He values the connections he has made along the way and how they make him feel, yours especially. And while there are many things that make him avoid vulnerability; Maybe it's his disgust for pity, maybe the survival instinct he developed back in port mafia, Dazai longs for the feeling of understanding, which you seem to provide, even if you feel like you can't get him fully. That's when he realises he must keep you close at all costs.

He won't hesitate to control your friends, nor you, doesn't matter if it's mentally or physically. He prefers to hurt you mentally than anything, but if it's more effective he will switch to the physical pain. He also uses it when you mess up a bit too badly, since it's the easiest, most effective way to put you back in your place. He prefers to keep you alive though, so that you'll provide him the connection he desires. Corpses can't really do that, can they.

Speaking of controlling, I believe that his favourite way of keeping an eye on you is breaking you. He'd find one of your friends to turn back at you, just to be the one to wipe away your tears. If he sees you talking to someone else a little too long instead of paying attention to him, there's a high chance they'd disappear the next day, so that he can comfort you with his silly jokes. What's better for a relationship than a cute bonding moment after all?

Unlike Dazai, Chuuya is one who draws the line at hurting you physically. While he may not seem like it, he's extremely strong. Even without his ability he can do a lot of damage to a man. And while he can use his strength to remind you that, he can't imagine raising a hand at you. In his eyes, you're precious, pure, and he cannot allow anyone nor himself to leave a flaw on that.

Speaking of that, he's rather controlling, especially when it comes to who you hang out with, and it's not rare for him to isolate you from your friends or even hurt them behind your back if he decides they're a bit off. Not only possessive, but also overprotective much. He's lost a lot of people in his life, and he refuses to lose you as well.

Although, while controlling behind his back, on the front he's a true gentleman. Yes, he'll carry you around, open doors for you and bring you flowers without occasion. He also remembers everything about you, from anniversaries you find important, to things like your favourite colour or if you look better in silver or gold, even to the smallest stuff like the exact temperature you prefer the water to have while bathing. The truth is, he knows a lot about you. Though it's not like you have to know that much.

That being said, Chuuya always has time for you. Always, no matter what day nor time. You could call with the smallest of things in the middle of the night and he'd drop everything he's doing right away, just so he can assist.

Chuuya, Fyodor (and Odasaku) are those who got the closest to understanding Dazai, though I believe nobody through the series really got him fully;

Chuuya understood him because of how much time they spent together, Fyodor because of his intelligence and their equality(, while Oda did because dazai desperately wanted him to – he's more open with him than others). Soukoku and fyozai are pretty interesting and deep ships because of it, given that Dazai doesn't really show much vulnerability throughout the show nor manga.

Man, I need more fyozai. And vulnerable Dazai.

Speaking of, I think that Fyozai shows us much more thrown off guard Dazai than we ever get, therefore more of his real vulnerable self. Dazai likes their game at first, but as time passes by, he gets tired of it, and we can see some interesting reactions because of that.
