"jack drake is a bad father" "jack drake is a good father" both of these are so reductive. jack drake is chuck dixon (a conservative fuckwad)'s idea of a good father, which means he is wrapped in layers of toxic masculinity and emotional incompetence despite the fact that he does clearly love his son. he is not intended to be read as a bad father, but there are several instances of him reacting to tim with anger that borders on physical violence (such as ripping out tim's tv when he thinks tim isn't paying enough attention to him in conversation), refusing to actually listen to anything tim says (everything about the ari situation), and having no interest in actually listening to anything tim says because his first priority is punishing tim for being out of line first and foremost (the way he talks to dana about boarding schools).

chuck dixon is uncritical of this as a style of parenting, because chuck dixon is a conservative man with conservative ideals about parenting, and this is a style of parenting wrapped up in conservative ideals of the father as the authoritarian head of the family unit. this does not mean that jack drake is a perfect dad OR that he's an irredeemably evil one. it does mean that jack drake's parenting is extremely flawed despite that he loves his son, that the narrative does not address his flaws in parenting as flaws, and that ultimately dissecting his parenting and its impact on tim is up to reader interpretation. but going "he loved tim and he was trying so you can't call him a bad dad" is just as reductive as "evil horrible abuser who hates his son and beats him senseless and locks him in a dishwasher" or whatever the hell.

i’m going to be so honest, I don’t watch or consume a lot of tv media so..most of these shows are either out of character for them or one of my own favorites lol lol..

jason todd: tbh I don’t think he watches a lot of tv. I could see him secretly enjoying mean girls or legally blonde though. (no one knows this)

dick grayson: I dont know why but I see him unironically enjoying the bachelor/ette and other shows like it. he roots for some of the worst characters but whatever!

tim drake: again, most of these I dont know why but they just give me the vibes, he’d like anime like avatar or something similar. he likes horror movies too.

hal jordan: like jason, I don’t think he watches much tv, he doesn’t have the time or the wanting too. I could see him enjoying house md and absolutely loving house (me too) he definitely checks in on sports sometimes though, especially during the super bowl.

barry allen: those cop shows like 911 of the rookie (that’s cop show right?) he also enjoys those channels that play house renovations…he finds them interesting and relaxing!!

wally west: some cartoon or comedy from the 2000’s, simpson’s, sonic the hedgehog, tmnt!

roy harper: impractical jokers. nothing else to say here!

headcanon based off of these beautiful pictures but i feel like any of the green lanterns in general (hal, jon, jessica, kyle, etc) would make the sky green so that you know that they're okay while they're on a long mission off-planet <3 ik the lantern's don't have like space powers or whatever but i feel like they can do this; like come on if they can make tanks and voltron-esque suits to fight in then they can make the sky green :^
