TOP THREE TIPS FOR GAINING MUSCLE! β’ 1. Eat ENOUGH! Key word is enough... when I was first starting my only objective was to eat as much as I could when it came to nutrition, but if I could go back, I would drastically change this approach... calculate your daily caloric intake and from that calculate your macros according to your goals. Obviously for gaining muscle we want to stay in a slight caloric surplus. EAT ENOUGH, DONT OVEREAT. β’ 2. Your training protocol should incorporate some sort of progressive overload. This is through my personal experience for whatβs brought me the most success and trust me THIS IS THE WAY!!!!!! If you need help better understanding exactly what this entails, drop a DM. β’ 3. Lastly, it really comes down to consistency. So this last one is kind of a two for one. Iβm sure youβve heard it before but trust me itβs said for a reason... consistency is key. It really wasnβt until I buckled down for a solid year before I saw some true results. I mean results that really catch your eye... so if you are headed down this road thinking and expecting immediate results, I would ask you to tweak your perspective. TRANSFORMATION POST! β’ This was my post from yesterday morning guys, I changed up the narrative a little so letβs try this again! β’ I wanted to post this for you guys to show you the journey Iβve been on... first pic is of me in 2014 of high school, junior year... full time athlete, basketball 7 days a week, year round. Zero strength training only conditioning because thatβs all our coaches knew at the time for basketball players... or maybe that was just the easiest thing to do, make your boys run. Second pic is me now 6 years later. BUT! β’ In these 6 years I have been all over the place with my training... it wasnβt until about two years ago until I fell back in love with training and truly started to understand THE PRECISION behind it. I learned HOW to execute and IMPLEMENT my training in the most effective ways. These last two years have been more than bliss in terms of my training. I truly feel like I have complete control over my training environment and nutrition and because of this, my results have been unparalleled as compared to my other 4 years of training. Itβs really crazy what can happen once you apply some factual knowledge behind your actions in a gym. 𧬠⒠In my next post I will go over my top three tips that helped me, a skinny lad balloon up fast! High School 2014 β° β‘οΈ 2020 β’ I wanted to share this with you guys to show you all a little more about my genetics and kind of what I was dealing with when I started my journey into fitness! β’ First, no I have not been training for six years... I have been in and out of fitness multiple times throughout those six years since high school! Being an athlete in high school π really drew away from any passions of pursuing weight lifting... the conditioning was insane... I remember there being no off season and literally having to stay in shape and condition year round... for high school ball, AAU, summer ball, etc. I never really knew how to gain weight at the time nor did I think it would be worth my time considering the amount of calories I was already burning on a daily basis... man I wish I had a different mindset and I wish coaches focused more on a strength and conditioning program while I was younger rather than just taking the easy route and telling your boys to run. β’ When I left for college, that was when I fell in love with weight lifting, I saw some serious newbie gains and was definitely putting on a freshman 15 lol I think I put on freshman 30... not in the best way but hey, it was a start. β’ Throughout those six years, life has been a rollercoaster and itβs been all about learning those lessons and bouncing back harder than before. Iβm proud to say Iβm 23 and have now been training consistently for a year and half now and the results Iβve seen have just been astonishing. If there is one thing Iβve truly fallen in love with, itβs being in control and tune with your body... β’ In my next post I will go over my top 3 top tips that helped me stack on some serious size BUT IN THE RIGHT WAYS! FOUND THIS IN THE VAULT! DATED NOVEMBER 9, 2019! β’ For those wondering this marked my one year transformation. I had put on a total of 50 pounds of total body weight... of course some of that was fat... and of course some of that was my muscle memory gains. But I still managed to put on a solid 30-40 pounds of muscle on my body. Which in my book is pretty remarkable thing to do in just under a year. Itβs truly crazy what the human body is capable of. β’ And for those thinking it, Iβll answer it for you, no I have never used any PEDβs a long my journey... just lots of clean supplements to aid the body where it lacks from nutrition. I mean seriously whoβs can eat 20 steaks to get your creatine levels in for the day?! Not me lol. UPDATE! β’ Hey fam! Just wanted to give you guys a little look into my life at the moment and fill you on everything thatβs been going on in my world! π β’ So the main reason why I havenβt been posting is because as many of you know, where I live, gyms have yet to be opened back up. In fact, gyms were set to be open back up on July 1st! So naturally, me being the fitness enthusiast and trainer that I am, you could imagine the relief I was beginning to experience knowing July 1st was the date. All this build up and preparation was in effect on my end and BOOM! July 1st came and our county was issued a pushback for many of the planned business to reopen, including the gyms. π€― β’ Itβs been a huge fat bummer, it really has. But instead of dwelling on it and focusing my energy on something I canβt control, I decided to pivot, AGAIN! Just like we all have learned to do once before through this shutdown. β’ However I think itβs important I talk a little bit more about my mental state of mind when I initially heard the news... I went straight borderline depressed. It was so saddening to hear for me partly because I think I had been masking so many emotions about missing the gyms, telling myself I didnβt miss them and just lying to myself. So when I got that taste of gyms again in my mouth, I got so pumped... Only to feel like this was the biggest let down of my entire life. The next day I was able to put things in perspective and start to plan and visualize things I thought I should do. β’ So.. thatβs when I decided to take a brief pause from social media and instead begin to devote extensive amounts of time into educating myself to better my life and the lifeβs of the people around me; working on my craft, my foundation, educating myself on how I can do my part, setting goals, visualizing, conceptualizing, reflecting, and getting the sh!t that needs to get done, done! β’ The point behind all this is that the work will never go away. Thatβs the beauty of it in my opinion. There is always wood to be chopped somewhere or another in some form of aspect in your life.
