The moorish prophet said to “study yourself”. 🇲🇦 . . . This past year had me doing extra laboured work for some dollars. Haven’t worked like this since my late teens early twenties. Although my mynd remains sharp, my body needs attention as the avatar ages especially when recovering from an injury. I also have slacked off my exercise routine which made matters worse. So now in the last couple of weeks, my body has had enough cuz I failed to give it the consistent attention it needs to function. I hear ya loud n clear avatar 👂, not only am I getting “jacked up”(my youngest suns term🤣) again. Am incorporating, massage therapy, cupping and acupuncture into my routine of self care. . . . Happy #friyay to all and a wonderful weekend ahead 💪🏽 ------------------ Swipe 👉🏽👉🏾👉🏿 (If you want to build that #CobraBack) Bent over Barbell Mid Grip Rows Superset with Single Arm Back Row (5x12) -When performing the bent over rows, make sure to use a comfortable yet challenging weight and make that muscle mind connection in order to break those muscle fibers up in the lats. For the seated rows, if your gym does not have the machine I am utilizing then you can use the traditional back row machine BUT make sure to turn in order to specifically target the lats at an angle and make sure to keep the muscle working. Here’s a quick back workout you can do in a pinch. You can knock it out in under 25 minutes if you concentrate on the task at hand. THE QUICK & DIRTY BACK WORKOUT: 1. Pull-ups (30 reps in as few sets as possible.) 2. Dumbbell Rows (fully extend your arm toward the floor at the bottom of the movement to fully stretch your lat muscle. Imagine pulling your elbow toward your hip and up to the ceiling.) 3. Pulldowns (Touch your collarbone with the bar. Keep your chest high and stomach sucked in throughout the entire movement.) Complete the prescribed number of sets and reps as quickly as possible while maintaining quality reps. Focus on smooth movements and eliminate momentum. - This is just a small gym hack for the landmine row that I found out months after I first started training that completely changed how I performed the exercise. - 1. Use multiple smaller plates instead of the big 45lbs/20kg plate as this will allow you to bring the bar close to you, increasing the ROM (I know it is not a crazy different amount, but it definitely helps me get that contraction) - 2.
