Traffic Jams are the big problem now-a-days for highway road transportation. Due these traffic jams the journey time increases to double or triple the original journey time. Because of these traffic jams sometimes the journey time takes days even though the distance is not large. Basically, these traffic jams are occurred due to road accidents in the highways or due to strikes against government. These situations can’t be predictable or unavoidable, so we need to divert the highway traffic by identifying the traffic jam automatically.

Now a day, many vehicles like bikes, cars etc… are theft and even missing of child is also taking place. Not only that so many big trucks or Lorries carrying goods from companies are also missing because of road accidents or truck thefting. In order reduce these problems we had come up with a solution to track the vehicle position lively i.e. by using Real Time vehicle tracking system using GPS and GSM. We can attach this to vehicle and by situating this in children’s school bags and can track their position or location. This project is not simply showing the co-ordinates of the vehicle in the LCD display. It can show the live tracking of the vehicles by pointing it in google map service.

Generally in schools, colleges and offices an urgent message is passed by a person who carries a printed message to all the rooms in the college or a company. This problem can be avoided by taking the advantage of Multi-messenger concept. In this project, each room in the college or company contains a LED based Message Scrolling Display along with a wireless device. A software tool which resides in the host computer is used to generate and send messages to each and every room via a wireless transmitter

To make the LED scrolling display more portable, a GSM mobile phone is used instead of carrying keyboard or a host computer for generating or sending messages to LED display board. A text message is typed in the GSM mobile phone and sent it by using SMS service of the mobile phone to LED moving display boards. A GSM modem is connected to the LED display hardware is used to receive the SMS and send it to the controller circuit of the LED display.

There has been a phenomenal increase in the number of vehicles on the roads, which in turn leads to increase problems in controlling traffic. Present Traffic Light Controllers (TLC) is based on microcontroller and microprocessor. These controllers have their own limitations because it uses the pre-defined hardware, which is functioning according to the program that does not have the flexibility of modification on real time basis. Due to fixed time intervals of green, orange and red signals the wasting of time for vehicles in less traffic density roads. Sometimes this situation leads to traffic JAM in busy hours.
