@labyrinth-mc will be about the Minecraft server I run and updates directly related to it.

@minotavern (this blog) will be more tied to my personal life, and will contain things I didn't consider post-worthy on the server's blog.

For context, I'm a college student. There will be many delays going on with the server because I have exams, etc. I don't want to clutter people with that sort of thing on my main blog because that isn't what they follow it for. However, if you do follow this blog, you'll get a lot more context and background info for the server. 🤷

There is no real activity requirement since it's a volunteer position. You MUST be 18 or older to be considered at all. This is because I would not feel comfortable having minors be the ones to clean up the server if trolls show up and decide to spam certain types of content.

DISCLAIMER: Server staff will be the ones removing any malicious content (racist, violent, gore, NSFW) content if it shows up, so they may see some bad things. I do not feel comfortable putting minors in this position. This server is a LGBTQ+ server, so it's likely to attract homophobes and trolls. Homophobes and trolls really like to post vile content with the sole intent of upsetting people. Do not apply if you think this would put you in a bad headspace.

I don't have a presentable screenshot for what's at the end at all YET, since I haven't entirely decided. I'm thinking the treasure will include things like:

- (Vanilla-styled) Custom Enchants - Placeable Furniture Blocks - Custom Food Items - Custom Baits for Fishing (A whole new mechanic I'll post on later.) - Cosmetic Items (These have the same theme as the rainbow, so if you looted a transgender rainbow, you'd probably pull some cool transgender themed cosmetics for your player character too.) The server is NOT modded, but does have a resource pack that lets me add functional blocks, items, etc. I don't want to tweak vanilla gameplay too much, so I'm really trying to make anything I add to the game its own concepts to not screw up progression too bad.

Basically, I'm trying to avoid putting vanilla loot, such as diamonds, in them. A big thing for this server is that I want it to be playable and enticing even after players have "beat" the base vanilla game, so there will be a lot of added features and community input on what those will be.

A SIMPLE LIST OF IN-GAME RULES!

1 - Refrain From Hate Speech

This is self-explanatory. Don't be racist. Don't be homophobic, transphobic, ableist, etc. etc. Basically, don't use anyone's identity as an insult. This includes slurs. While we 100% believe that slurs can be reclaimed, we also know they can make people uncomfortable. Please don't use slurs. [Note: we do not consider the word "queer" to be a slur, though we know it can make people uncomfortable. You can always /pmute the players who say it, which personally hides their messages from showing up in your chat ingame.]

2 - Do not cheat.

Do not install any mods or resource packs to your client that would in any way make gameplay easier than those without. Performance mods are alright, but please do not use Xray, autoclickers, etc. Don't exploit any in-game bugs ESPECIALLY to duplicate items, regardless as to if they are a vanilla bug or not.

3 - Be respectful and let it go.

There are many different queer people and allies, and we all have different personal views. However, please don't bring any of that here. If someone has a take that you think is upsetting, particularly a take about the validity of certain labels, do not engage. This is a safe space, not a debate room. You can /pmute them, and if you think their comments violate the first rule on hate speech, let a moderator know. Please, let the mods deal with the discourse. They'll have volunteered to do exactly that, but we don't want the average player to have to witness an entire fandom, political or label argument in the chat. NO death threats towards another player, regardless. NO suicide bait towards another player, regardless. NO DDoS/DOX threats towards another player, regardless. You will be banned regardless as to who you directed these to or why.

4 - Keep it SFW.

This is a Minecraft server. While I expect most of us to be adults, I don't want people to feel uncomfortable with explicit topics.

WHAT IS THIS?

This blog will log the development of an upcoming semi-serious Java Edition LGBTQ+ themed Minecraft server. Now, when I say semi-serious, I mean that I'm not trying to make any money off of this or pressure my players into buying things they don't need. However, considering that this is intended to be a safe space, I fully intend to give my all to having competent moderation, fair rules and mature moderators. Basically, it's a gay Minecraft server without any pressure to buy ranks, chill moderators, and active updates where polls are held to move the server forward.

WHAT GAMEMODE IS IT?

This will likely be a survival world with a few added features for both ✨spice✨ and quality of life, such as:

Player profiles that include your preferred /name and preferred /pronouns when you type in chat.

Fair Custom Enchants

Better Beds (Not everyone has to sleep.)

Economy + Player Shops

Land Claiming

Scheduled Community Contests/Events

I am likely to develop more content including custom ores, mobs, dimensions, bosses, etc. so players can continue to progress through the SMP even once they have full netherite armor. THIS WILL ALL BE RESOURCE PACK BASED AND YOU WILL NOT NEED ANY MODS, EVER. Players will be able to give their voice on what sort of update they want when I start on these things, so the direction of development will be very community-driven.

WHO CAN JOIN

Anyone is welcome, as long as they can respect other's identities—and especially in the case of allies—are wiling to learn before casting judgment. There are some common decency rules that any server members must follow in order to continue being server members, and those will be addressed in the RULES. In summary, this server is about making a safe space for others to be themselves and be comfortable. Do not ruin that for others, and you can stay.
